My intuition put Grace as the High Priestess, but from what I've read it's more about spirituality and intuition, while the Hierophant is all about strong traditional beliefs and ruling/leading, so it fits her way better! :D

Left side/Beginning has the dance cancellation sign, since that was her mission and Max was her first victim, while on the right/Ending is Jason and the Black Book, her mission and source of power has changed.

Halo= superiority, holy mission, Red as a sign of danger/death to come (which is why the light it's only on the boys)

I’ve been getting so much nostalgia from the randomly recommended videos to me about skylanders that I decided to doodle up some of the characters I remember using most often.

Which inevitably made me receive more nostalgia from the figurines we kept cause OMG I FORGOT THEY HAD CARDS—

so much in part 2 so far is about kids being denied agency and self-determination while being fed to the wolves as they see the world and the future they're told to work hard at building crumble before their very eyes

This is what I have been working on this week. A4 paper in gouache. It's a rather difficult medium to work with. I do like the consistency, and the matte finish. But I found it hard to make the colours come out bright (I suppose gouache is like that?). I used coloured pencils and what is supposed to be oil pastels (it was straight up chalk lol). I think it could still use more work, but I fear I would just ruin it if I work any further. Overall, I'm happy with the result! Next up will be acrylics! Progress shots under the cut:

Hmm... it's interesting how they made Luz wear a witch's cloak in Hunting Palisman - the episode where she introduces Flapjack to Hunter. This is also the episode where Hunter defies Belos by choosing Luz over him. He goes back to his palace empty-handed and he doesn't hand over Flapjack to Belos. Unbeknownst to Hunter, he is following Caleb's footsteps.

But then, in Hollow Mind, they made the choice to have Luz not wear her witches cloak - instead they made Luz wear a jacket with a giant "E" on it. They could have given Luz a completely different outfit like they did in Hunting Palisman. But they don't... they make her wear this specific jacket...

...They also make Hunter wear Caleb's symbol in Hollow Mind... an episode where Luz and Hunter are trapped in Philip's mind... where we can see paintings of the two most important characters in Philip's life - his brother and a witch from another world.

But I'm sure this is all unintentional.

Oh, hmm, okay, this is a painting of Caleb standing next to a witch with short dark brown hair and who just so happens to be a witch from another world. Both of them are startled by Philip...

Hunter, the Grimwalker who looks the most like Caleb, is standing next to someone who ALSO just so happens to be a witch from another world with short dark brown hair... both are startled by Philip's monster form...

Hmm, must be unintentional I guess.

there's also this:

Mhm, okay, I see... I see, very interesting. Here we have Caleb being lead away from Philip by a witch from another world after the brother's have a fall out. This fall out marks the point of no return for them, as Philip later kills Caleb out of anger.

Hunter and Philip's relationship completely deteriorates because of Luz, which leads to Philip's decision to kill Hunter. She shows Hunter Belos' true nature and she offers Hunter sanctuary at The Owl House right after he finds out Belos has been lying to him his whole life... Luz saves Hunter's life and changes it forever.

Hmmm... very interesting

thinking about jason being a really distracting tutor. he really doesn’t look like an english lit major but there he is sitting at the table you’re supposed to meet at.

and you have to ask him to look over your essay draft and he gets real close because he’s a big guy, going over what you did well and what could use some work.

he’s all serious too and doesn’t have the faintest clue that you have the biggest crush on him.

“you seem distracted” he stops whatever explaining he was doing to make sure you’re listening.

“sorry— it’s just a lot” you apologize hoping he didn’t catch you staring too hard at him.

and he’s so patient going over the most important points, checking to see if you understand. and when you repeat back the right answer to him he’s just like “attagirl” and gives you a high five. so many high fives and praises that his rating is 5 stars and his tutoring backlog goes until the next semester lol.

do you notice anything? i mean there are many things to notice and we don't have time to really go down the list (briefly i will mention, the different colour palettes, aki's relatively more haphazard/disorganised piles of stuff, the different sports balls, kei's muuuusic collectionnnn), but what i noticed on this rewatch - which i swear i've never noticed before - aki has dino figurines on his shelves too!! they don't have the same place of honour as they do in kei's room, but still!!!

also, they both (seem to ?) have a stegosaurus figurine, but i do think it's of note that aki has a brontosaurus and kei has a t-rex...

Fun fact for while you're OHSHC posting, I'm a trans man and my name is Honey. My parents think it's because I "wanted a really sweet sounding name". They don't know it's actually because I got REALLY into OHSHC right about when I realized I was trans and my favorite character happened to have a nickname that wouldn't be cultural appropriation-y for my white ass to go by

Lab kid Robin who was thought to be dead by the lab at age 15 during an experiment gone wrong and was "discarded" and then found by the russians. They couldn't quite make their own supernatural kids but they might as well "recycle" this one. They had to compete with the other american kid somehow.

So they kinda brainwash her and send her to the school so she can get closer to the gang and try to kill El.

Accidentally getting adopted by Joyce Byers was not part of the plan but she's not complaining.
