-Geography, anime and voice acting! These pretty much form the pillars of our collective identity, but other than that everyone's unique.

-We're always moving headspaces, since we get bored of being in one place for too long! We rotate between a few places, mostly based on different videogames since those are the worlds it's easiest to imagine ourselves in. Most recently, though, we decided to experiment by making our headspace a cottagecore forest with no defined layout, so we could make it up as we discovered more of it. That's been working pretty okay so far! :)

-We've had some NPCs who served as mascots or pets of sorts, though they're not frequently very active and we haven't felt them around anymore. They're mostly based on our source.

-Our system name is Kazan World! We went more at length about its origin and history in this post:

(China) - Since I'm the one fronting, I guess I'll answer the last question. I'm the oldest here both out of my sourcemates and the system as a whole. And in my exomemories, I was one of the first immortals the world discovered. It was pretty lonely and confusing before I found others like me, and humans were always trying to study me and become like me. It's probably different in this timeline, but in what I remember, I was one of the main reasons so many emperors of China constantly sought immortality.

🌑 HFR: Shadows Across The Moon Continued Info 🌑

The Setting

Confession: When I first though up Shadows I didn't have a solid aesthetic in mind for it. (Defaulted to medieval/Renaissance era fantasy.)

I got two versions bouncing around in my noggin:

A. Victorian Era (1860s-1890s)

B. Pulp Horror Vibe (1920s-1950s)

IDK which one I like more. 🤷

As far as the island layout goes, it's the same as canon:

On the west side of the island, Rekka overtook the industrial district in the southwest. Zanzo has his subterranean laboratory to the northwest, the newest of Vandelay Island structures.

Mimosa occupies the entertainment district on the south eastern part on the island, namely the Museum and Theater.

We also have the security tower between the lab and the mansion.

To the north, Roquefort and Kale have taken residence in separate wings of Vandelay Mansion, constructed in the HFR equivalent of the Victorian Era. (This holds true regardless of version)

The few humans who remain stick to the residential district located in the south-central part of the island.

(I also realized after writing my first post on this that I can refer to the constructs as automatons or robots. The word "robot" came about in the 1920s, I believe.)

Medallions

SPECTRA granted these medallions for the bosses to use as tokens of its favor. They turn their wearers into monsters for as long as they wear them. (Because they'd be attacked otherwise.)

They need regular recharging to work. One can either leave them out in the moonlight overnight or there's also... Sacrifice. 👀

The pendant features an etching of their respective monster form's head with colored crystal eyes. (Which correlates to the SPECTRA pass keys in canon.

⚡Rekka - Gargoyle/Demon head with Yellow eyes (In respects to Korsica coming back as a Zombie, I felt Rekka should be non-undead. She still has electricity/lightning based powers.)

🐍 Zanzo - Gorgon head with Green eyes

🧜‍♀️ Mimosa - Siren head (the bird lady, not the Trevor Henderson creature) with Purple eyes

🐺 Roquefort - Werewolf head with White eyes

🧛‍♂️ Kale - Vampire head with Red eyes

There IS a medallion for the Security Head but it's gone by the time Korsica arrives on Vandelay Island. The OC related reason why is that Halva ran off with it after he ducked out of SPECTRA plans. (Things got too spooky for him. 😄) He intended to sell it to a collector of rare magical artifacts, but Whiting snagged it from him.

Other Bits

Character Fates are very much In Your Hands here. I have my version of events, but you don't have to stick to them.

I mentioned this in a earlier post, but when Gorgon! Zanzo petrifies someone, they are still conscious- locked in a void with only their thoughts to keep them company. 😱 Zanzo himself falls victim to this in his confrontation with Chai. (If no one intervenes, Chai will likely smash him to rubble.) 😱😱😱
