I hope this isn't an unwelcome suggestion, but I think you could extend the lifespan of the remaining new art by posting a little slower. I appreciate all of the art no matter how often you post, but it throws me off to have periods of silence followed by every other post on my dashboard being yours.

So i suppose some transparency about how i try to post might be appreciated by the community here so ill try my best!

I have posted TES art daily since this past winter and plan to continue to do so for a long as i can.

As it stands im not actually short on TES art whatsoever!

For example i still have thousands of pieces of TES Legends and ESO art remaining in my archive.

BUT

From the beginning of this blog i was aware of one major fact...

The available art from ESO and Legends outnumbers art from ALL the other TES games by several magnitudes.

Honestly i could exclusively post ESO and Legends art and probably not run out for years.

Typically I post in the evenings and (usually?) its 10-15 posts per day. Unfortunately even if I spaced them out through through the day I'd be going through all the art just as quickly on a day to day basis.

"Running out" isn't a concern in terms of the overall archive BUT it IS a concern for the TES games which have FAR less publicly available art and known artist credits, such as Morrowind or Oblivion.

I've long struggled with the fact that I (personally) care about posting art from the mainline games more than I care about posting art from ESO or Legends. I love all TES games but I personally view some of the art as more important to see preserved ATM, ESPECIALLY art from games pre-ESO or Skyrim.

Why am I more concerned about older TES art? Simple. Those games existed in era before artists commonly had digital portfolios. As such most of the art is either behind some sort of NDA or has never been digitized.

ESO AND LEGENDS ARTISTS ACTUALLY UPLOAD ALOT OF THEIR WORK TO THEIR PORTFOLIOS ONLINE. THANK GOD. I wish I could say the same for the older games :(

Like FR it's EASY to find ESO artists. You know what's NOT easy? Finding artists and art for games like Daggerfall or Oblivion. I want to ensure the more obscure art and artists (especially from the pre-eso era) get archived on here ASAP.

I've long decided I want this blog to serve as a digital archive of its own so people in the future can more easily find TES art AND the artists credits (if we have them).

It's really important to me that places beyond UESP partake in TES art archiving. That's what I *try* to strive for at least through this blog.

For transparency sake I may not be around to post here in a year or two due to a possible career change I'm looking at.

It's nothing certain but the career I'm looking at would effectively remove the kind of free time I'd need to run this blog.

The career change may never happen!! But in the event it does I wanna make sure I post all the TES art I can, with art from the older games taking priority.

Alterine is a gender quality that encompasses any gender, alignment, expression, presentation, or quality connected to alterhumanity. This includes identities relating to otherkinity, therianthropy, plurality, otherheartedness, draconity, and anything else that may fall under the alterhuman umbrella. Someone who is transitioning in an alterine way may be called transalterine. This term is exclusive to alterhumans.

A transalterine person might decide they want to transition in a way that reflects the species or gender of a headmate, or they may wish to present more as their kintype in a way that reflects both their gender and animality. The use of this label depends on the individual.

I know this isn't the point of your blog and event (and no expectation that you'll respond to this) but I'm allo and trying very hard to write a romance novel with an ace aro character as the love interest and I've been struggling with where the boundaries are for aro people and this event has helped me learn so much about what people like to read! I'm already comfortable writing someone as ace, but a romance novel with an aro character has been squiggling me a bit. But the amount of platonically romantic aro content being shared is really inspiring!! So thanks :)

It's totally on point! I chose to focus on Good Omens for aro week because it was theme I liked. But the goal of aro week is still to raise awarness and acceptance of aromantic spectrum identities.

I hope this doesn't come across as unsolicited advice but I thought other people might want to learn more about aromanticism too.

I really recommend:

AUREA (Aromantic-spectrum Union for Recognition, Education, and Advocacy) who has a lot of ressources on many subjects regarding aromanticism.

Such as amatonormativity, a very important concept coined by the philosopher Elizabeth Brake to describe "the widespread assumption that everyone is better off in an exclusive, romantic, long-term coupled relationship, and that everyone is seeking such a relationship.".

There's also many labels existing to describe different relations to romance and romantic attraction for people on the aro spectrum, such as : oriented aroace, cupioromantic, demiromantic, loveless aro, ...

(I also can't recommend enough to watch Koisenu Futari, as this show has the most perfect aroace representation ever. I can help you find it with english and french subtitles if you want, just DM me)

for Aromatic Spectrum Awareness Week, i wanted to share Daniel and his QPBoyriend, Jan! they're both aromantic, with Daniel taking some time to come to terms with it - they start dating after book 2 (i don't think Jan appears in the books at all). I take issue with the anon re: gay sex and top/bottom. As a queer kinkster (both my partner and I have been active in a number of communities in the last decade), they’re using an antiquated definition.

Top and bottom are not terms exclusive to gay sex; they are used in a number of different capacities within the kink and queer communities. They do not explicitly refer to sex. I can be a rope top typing my rope bottom partner - it refers to the giving and receiving of an action, and that action is not inherently sexual.

Yes, bottom is not exclusively submissive and top is not exclusively dominant; but the terms top/bottom are not limited to gay sex.

It originated and became common vernacular within the gay community in the 70/80’s in the US, but has since been absorbed into broader queer and kink communities.

I’m happy to continue this dialogue if wanted - queer identities and kink are really close to my heart and it hurts to see partially incorrect information. 💚

i see! it sounds like it's a matter of evolving language--that thing where a fairly specific and meaningful term within a community breaks containment and becomes more nebulous as it's adapted for wider use, often to the detriment of the original idea? semantic drift?

i would like to ask you a question... i feel a bit dumb asking this but... what are the different types of fanfics? like- i know what fluff, angst and smut is. and i know what's an AU, and more or less the concept of omegaverse (i think...)

but when is a ficlet a ficlet? or a oneshot a oneshot? what is a 221b? a drabble? idk if there are more but i guess i just don't really understand the differences between the lengths of them? does this make sense..?

i've been confused about this for a while and can't quite figure it out. if you'd help out i'd very much appreciate it!

Before I answer your question, I highly recommend you peruse the Fanlore Wiki; it's a good place for new people to learn about fandom terms and history, so check it out if you need further clarification, as my answers are based on my understanding of each of the things you're asking about from being in TOO many fandoms for TOO many years, LOL.

I'm not going to go into everything, since fandom is SO huge and there's so much about it that I can't cover it all, hence the link to Fanlore, so here are immediate answers to some of your questions:

Drabble: A fic that's exactly 100 words

A 221b Ficlet: A fanfiction exclusive to the multiple variants of Holmesian fandoms that's exactly 221 words long, and the VERY last word of the fic starts with "b".

Ficlet: A short story, usually under 1,000 words but can be a little more.

Oneshot / vignette: A short, single chapter "scene" fic, essentially a story covering a missing scene or an out-of-context situation. In a similar vein, there's Two-Shots, which is basically a oneshot but from two different perspectives (ie. First chapter is situation from character A's POV, and Chapter 2 is from Character B's situation).

Podfic: An audiobook of a fanfiction. If you prefer to listen to stories, rather than read them, there are a tonne of amazing podficcers recording stories in multiple fandoms.

Five and One (and variations of): A story that depicts "Five times that Character [verb] [insert situation here] and one time [insert contradicting situation here]". It's basically 6 one-shots in a single story that has the last "one time" situation be a feel-good FINALLY ending. Some authors split them up into single chapters per situation, and others write the whole story as a single chapter.

Meta / Metafic: An essay or story based on analysing a piece of media. The Fic version expands upon a theory within a given fandom so that the theory fits into the narrative of the show.

WIP: Acronym for "Work In Progress", which is an unfinished published story. Some authors "write as they post" while others finish multiple chapters prior to posting them, but only post chapters one at a time on a scheduled basis, which keeps people coming back to the story until the end. The latter USUALLY guarantees a full-story inevitably being posted, so it is the more preferred type of WIP.

Short Story: a story under about 10,000 words

Novella: a story between 20 and 50K words

Novel: Anything over 50K words. I think past a certain number (100K?) it becomes an Epic, but I'm not 100 on it. Google says it's a story that spans multiple "books" and time periods, so I'm not sure.

Neumeline: A quality to describe the sex label of neumel. It is exclusive to neutral sex labels but can be extended to terms like aporale, enbinmel, abinmel, and even xaemel if it includes neutrality in some way.

Basically, if you call your sex neumel or if you consider your sex niaspec (not sure how to call a sex neutral-in-nature), you can say that your sex is neumeline. - 💙💚

No worries about this question; it's awesome that you're gauging my comfort while also being interested enough in Fernweh to write for it!

I'd be happy for people to write for the characters or to write within the world of TFS. I don't have any problems with it, though it would be great if you could include: 'The Fernweh Saga' or make reference to where the characters came from in some form. I'm an advocate of you shipping who you want, doing AUs, adopting a different take on things, or simply just having fun with it. In terms of interacting with the works, I feel like I myself won't read them to not make anyone nervous or antsy despite how I do like to comment/gush on fanfics.

I will be posting an updated long-form character description document on January 5th as soon as Book One drops. It will be exclusively in an organized GoogleDoc. This will be a great resource for both artists and writers, but also for readers in general who might be curious since it's organized by chapter/character introduction.
