im sure its been said already but as the election draws near more and more liberals will come out of the woodwork to shame people with a conscience to give away their vote to the democrats for free. i'm already seeing posts saying "why aren't people more concerned about a trump presidency?" you want to know why? it's because people already know he's bad. everyone already knows what he is and what he's done and what he'll do. there's nothing to discuss. he's a racist despotic worm of a man. there's nothing else to say.

biden is currently president. the genocide is happening under his watch. he's the one funding isra*l and arming them; he's sidestepped congress more than once to give them weapons. by oct. 27, the biden administration already knew that "Israel was regularly bombing buildings without solid intelligence that they were legitimate military targets." the state department/biden have engaged in atrocity propaganda, cast doubt on the legitimacy of the death toll recorded by the gaza health ministry, and so on. the united states is currently in the process of trying to pin the "war in gaza" on netanyahu (see sen. schumer's speech) after months of backing blatant genocide as a means to act as if they're "doing something" about the genocide (Instead of, say, threatening to cut off all aid to israel with the condition that all hostilities in gaza, the west bank, and occupied jerusalem are halted immediately and permanently, allowing palestinians freedom to travel, allowing aid into gaza, etc etc etc.)

the long and short of it is that liberals view their own lives as being worth more than palestinians'. that's it. they'll vote for another 4 years of the guy ushering in genocide and supporting apartheid + settler colonialism because he isn't outright attacking them (despite various laws and rulings happening both at the supreme court level and at the local level all over the country that will endanger people). they'll settle for the illusion of safety and security and shame anyone with a conscience and accuse them of "supporting the republicans" when in an actual democracy you would be able to use your vote as leverage to extract concessions from those who want to be elected. that's how it's supposed to fucking work.

democrats are not owed people's vote. if biden loses, it will be biden's fault; it will be his campaign's fault; it will be the democrats' fault. trump is bad; the republicans are bad. we already know this. this is not an endorsement of either. but if democrats are too cowardly and feckless and servile to the motivations of the american empire and never do anything for their constituents then why the fuck should anyone vote for them. you want to get mad at someone, why don't you do something useful and stop worrying about team-sports with a purely selfish basis and start hounding the people in power who are supposed to serve you, the voter.

"WHATCHA DOIN', MORGIE?" you ask as you walk into the kitchen of your shared dorm.

"just catching up on some film before the season starts up," she answers, her eyes still locked on her computer screen, "how was class, baby?"

"it was okay, didn't really do much today," you answer, setting your bag down on the empty chair next to morgan's.

you come up behind her and place a kiss on her cheek, watching her take notes on some random player intently. your hands rest on her waist as you simply stand behind your girlfriend, waiting for her to acknowledge you.

"you good, y/n?" she asks, not getting the hint.

"i'm alright," you start, "i'd be better if my girlfriend showed me some love, though," you tease.

"m'sorry, baby," she says before turning her head to place a short kiss on your lips. you expected a little something more, so you're left hanging when she spins back around to resume the game footage on her computer.

"morgie," you say, tugging lightly on her loose shirt.

"hold on, y/n, just give me five more minutes, okay?"

you stay silent, contemplating leaving her to her work. your hands slide up her arms and onto her shoulders, feeling how tense they are, telling you that she's probably been at this for at least an hour or so.

"morgan, take a break."

"i'm almost done, babe."

"okay fine, you leave me no choice," you state, moving your hands back to her waist before tickling her sides with your fingers.

"y/n!" she yelps, immediately dropping the pen hat was in her hand and practically doubling over as your fingers work over her shirt.

"i'm not stopping until you close that computer," you shrug, still tickling the girl as she begins to let out the cutest giggles.

"please, y/n, oh my god i can't breathe, please stop!" she laughs as she tries to grab onto your arms and restrict your movements.

"are you gonna listen to me and take a break?" you ask.

"yes, fine, i will take a break!" she surrenders, still with a smile on her face from her laughing fit.

once you retract you hands from her torso, you step back expecting her to follow you to your bedroom. when you turn back around, you see her still writing in her notebook.

groaning, you make your way back over to her, ready to tickle her again but you're stopped before you can even start.

"if you try to tickle me one more time, i swear you will not get another kiss for a week," she threatens, pointing her pen in your face.

"as if you can last a week without my kisses," you challenge.

"oh i definitely can, you wanna see?" she says, eyebrows furrowed in pretend frustration.

"you're so cute when you're angry," you giggle.

"what am i gonna do with you, y/n?" she sighs with a shake of her head as she turns back to her computer.

"i'll show you exactly what you're gonna do," you smirk before grabbing your girlfriend and lifting her off of her chair, carrying her to your bedroom.

"y/n! what the hell are you doing?" she exclaims.

"taking you to bed so you can finally cuddle with me!"

"but i have to-"

"are you really telling me you'd rather watch a boring game and some player you don't care about than lay in bed with me?" you ask, raising an eyebrow at the girl now sitting at the edge of your bed.

she puts her glass down on the table, a tired sigh passing her lips as she scans the menu for some sort of dessert to indulge in. she’s thinking maybe a lava cake paired with vanilla ice cream, or cake.

“rocks,” she hears from across the table. she lifts her eyes from the menu and lifts an eyebrow in response. “are you looking for dessert?”

she blinks. “yeah, why? do you wanna go somewhere else?” she scrunches her nose and returns her attention to the menu sitting comfortably on her lap. “their dessert menu doesn’t look very… well, i wouldn’t get anything from here for dessert.”

he purses his lips together. “actually, i was gonna ask if you wanted to get some free dessert.”

“free dessert?” she snorts, throwing her head back slightly with a laugh.

he shrugs, “maybe another free bottle of champagne.”

“what are you talking about, my?”

milo sucks in a deep breath. he takes a moment to look around the bustling restaurant then smiles back at her. “do you trust me?”

“now that you’re saying it like that,” she sighs, “not really.”

he reaches for her hand across the table and squeezes it. “when have i ever let you down?”

she tilts her head. “i could list a number of times.”

“rocky.”

“milo.”

“i won’t disappoint you, i promise,” milo encourages, adjusting his jacket. he runs a hand through his hair and clears his throat. “just go along with it.”

she sighs tiredly and closes her eyes momentarily. “fine.”

he stands up, pushing his chair back with a loud sound, drowned out by the sounds in the restaurant. he smiles at her and drops to a knee.

she flinches at this, pushing her chair back slightly and turning to him. she grabs his shoulders and tries to force him back up to his feet.

“what are you doing? get up,” she whispers, worriedly looking around the restaurant.

“just go along with it,” milo says through gritted teeth with a smile. “go on, say yes really loudly.”

“what is wrong with you?”

“do you want free dessert or not?”

“not like this.”

“my knee hurts, say yes before we get more looks.”

“absolutely not.”

“i’ll pay for your ice cream for the entire month.”

she jumps up, hands pressed against her chest as she feigns shock. “oh, my god, yes!”

“rocks, look,” milo mutters, slinging an arm around her shoulders. he gestures his head towards the group of girls crowded behind them with their phones propped up on the ground as they film a video of themselves. “someone’s taking a video.”

she looks away from her phone, held up as she takes a picture of the view from the mountain she’d driven them up to, and furrows her eyebrows. “why is that any of our problems, my?”

he simply grins, squeezing her shoulder. “i have an idea.”

she sighs and drops her hands. “i mean this in the meanest way possible,” she pauses, “but you have the worst ideas ever.”

“come on,” he laughs. he tucks a finger under her chin and presses a kiss on her nose. “it’s gonna be funny.”

“would it, really?” she scrunches her nose to challenge his thoughts, looking up at him. “you’re really not as funny as you think, love.”

he doesn’t answer. just fishes for something in the back of his pocket before dropping on a knee. “rocks.”

she throws her arms into the air with a whimper. “not this again.”

he’d gotten a cheap ring from a shop somewhere while he was running some errands a few days ago, giggling to himself as he made the purchase. it was just funny how a fully grown man like him was spending 5 bucks on a cheap ring for a bit.

a bit that even his girlfriend wasn’t fully on board with. though arguably, it would be funny to see her different reactions.

the ring is simple: a silver ring with a little glass rock sitting on the top. but, it was kind of obvious that he got it dragging his feet around the mall when he stumbled upon a shop typically for kids.

“come on, we’re on video,” milo laughs up at her, holding up the cheaply made ring on display, “say yes.”

she clenches her jaw. she will be sure to get back at him for this. she scrunches her nose and sucks in a deep breath.

she feigns a shriek and cups her cheeks. “oh, my god, yes!”

upon entering the paddocks, she couldn’t help but notice the sly grin on milo’s face. she’d noticed it from the minute she woke up that morning and she didn’t like it.

she narrows her eyes into a squint and turns her head to look at milo. “what are you planning?”

“what?” milo looks down at her innocently, blinking as he squeezes her hand. “why are you accusing me already? i haven’t even done anything yet.”

“i can smell your stupid pranks from a mile away,” she accuses softly with a hum. “you’re planning something.”

“i’m so not!” he scoffs, his free hand on his chest to show how offended he truly is by her words. “you can’t just make baseless assumptions.”

she scowls, “they’re not baseless. you’ve been my boyfriend for 3 and a half years — i know when you’re planning to be an idiot.”

“promise i’m not,” he sighs, stopping when they reach the end of the stretch of racing homes.

she untangles her hand from his and takes a step forward with her hand held out. “so this is where we part ways, my.”

“i’ll see you in 20 minutes, rocks,” milo beams, taking off his backpack and placing it into her hands. “you want a coffee or ice cream?”

“ice cream,” she grins, stepping forward to share a light kiss. a blush spreads her cheeks when she hears the click of a camera and drops her head to hide her face. “have fun.”

she turns in the other direction to walk towards her racing home when she feels a tap on her shoulder again. she whirls back around just as milo drops to his knee. a loud gasp passes her lips, “milo!”

milo lifts his head with a smug grin. “what?”

an annoyed sigh fills the air when she sees his hands on his shoelaces, clearly undone. she grumbles under her breath. “you are so fucking annoying.”

milo grins, turning his head to oscar. “you guys want free champagne?”

oscar looks up from his phone and turns his head to the american with a toothy grin. “do i?”

“let me answer for him,” logan starts, popping his head out to glance at milo, “probably no.”

“who doesn’t want free champagne?” milo defends himself. he turns his head towards the direction she’d walked off to earlier with ylona and lily to head to the restrooms. “if we don’t get free champagne, i’ll pay for the club.”

logan hums. “fine, though i don’t really know how you’re going to get free champagne at all.”

“trust me, dude.”

“would rocky let us say yes?” oscar hums, nose scrunched up in curiosity.

milo beams. “no, but she’s not here for you to ask.”

“hey, have you figured out what you wanna order?” her voice makes their head turn to her. she’s walking towards them with ylona and lily trailing shortly behind her. “i’m starving, so speed it up.”

milo glances at logan and oscar with a grin. he clears his throat and slides out of his seat, swiftly picking the plastic ring from his pocket and getting on a knee.

she turns her head and simply looks down at milo, ignoring the loud gasps and remarks from her friends. something along the lines of “what the fuck” and “i didn’t see this coming”.

she scratches her head. “i’m so hungry, milo.”

logan’s loud declaration of confusion tears her attention away from her boyfriend, kneeling on the ground. “he’s literally proposing to you. why are you reacting like that?”

she stares at him, unamused. “no, he’s not. that’s his ruse for free champagne,” she answers monotonously. “my, come on. get up.”

“oh, come on,” milo frowns, pushing the ring up into the air again, “free champagne.”

“fine. but you owe me ice cream again for the rest of the month,” she says as milo nods enthusiastically. she sucks in a deep breath and cups her cheeks, “oh, my god, yes!”

“i’m asking you politely to not think of pulling any of your silly strings tonight,” she mutters, leaning towards her boyfriend sitting next to her. “please don’t do it here. the alcohol and dessert are free — there’s literally nothing to gain if you do it here.”

milo leans into her with a small smile. “why not? don’t you think it would be funny to watch sebastian clutch his heart in shock?”

she shakes her head and scowls. “no, i need him for my race tomorrow, you twat.”

“it’ll be funny,” milo whispers, rubbing his chin as he stares at sebastian sitting across them. “watch.”

“my–”

but it’s too late. he’s slipped out of his seat, pushing the chair back with a loud noise, garnering the attention of at least half of their side of the table. she just wanted to enjoy a team dinner with her boyfriend in attendance.

had she known that he would be this hard to contain, she would not have brought him along.

he lifts his hands, the godforsaken plastic ring between his fingers with a grin on his face, “rocks. you’re the love of my life.”

sebastian raises his eyebrows with a small grin, folding his arms over his chest as he leans back in his seat. “interesting.”

“milo,” she mutters, shaking her head in disappointment. “i’m going to kill you.”

“don’t leave me hanging,” milo teases with a smile, “your entire team is watching us.”

“he’s kidding, by the way,” she announces, turning her head to assess the reaction of her team members. “he does this all the time.” she grabs his wrist and lifts his arms slightly into the air. “it’s a ring from a kids’ shop.”

noah giggles. “romantic.”

“oh, congrats, ciara!” milo beams, clapping his hands, turning to his girlfriend. “speaking of good news…”

the young girl had just shared her business ventures as of late, even boasting about how her eldest sister had helped her out coding her website to help with her vision.

“milo,” the girl says cautiously shaking her head. her eyes dart down to his legs, trying to decipher if he’d slip off his seat.

“you’ve got news?” ciara perks up with grin. “what is it?”

she turns to ciara and shakes her head profusely. “do not listen to him. i don’t have any pieces of good news.”

milo smiles smugly at her then turns to ciara. “i landed a new role for this movie. i think you’d love to come to set with me one day.”

“rocks,” milo whispers, leaning to the side to the side. “you’re enjoying dinner?”

she turns to him. “of course,” she smiles, pinching his cheek. “are you?”

they’re sitting in a restaurant with her family. she sits at the head of the table, and to her right is milo, with ciara by his side, then oscar and logan hunched over with dalton, preoccupied with a phone game. then there’s blythe stuck in a conversation with mick and liam, then sebastian having a chat with her parents.

it’s such a random selection of people to have dinner with.

“of course,” he grins. “what are you getting to eat?”

“i don’t know yet, but they’ve got really good selections,” she mutters. “what are you getting?”

truthfully, when blythe had invited her to dinner, she’d half expected it to only be herself with the option of milo tagging along. she has yet to ask how a personal dinner for 2, maybe 3, suddenly turned into a family dinner.

logan and oscar tagging along is normal, but sebastian?

“not sure,” milo shrugs. he can’t help the smile growing on his face.

he hasn’t messed around with her in almost 3 weeks, trying to take away the suspicion of his true intentions. he’d been trying to soften the blow, getting a feel for her reaction if the real deal had happened.

she tilts her head and pinches his cheek tenderly. “you’re looking extra cute today, miles.” she pulls him in and presses a kiss to her cheek.

“i bet you’re wondering why the entire family is here,” blythe hums, throwing her head back slightly. “or why we’re even in a private room for dinner.”

she shrugs, “i was just guessing word got around about us getting dinner in a crowd favourite restaurant.”

blythe glances at milo and sits up straighter. “actually.”

“just a season-ender dinner to celebrate the year,” milo grins, turning to her with a grin. “you guys have fought such a great championship — blythe and i thought it would be fun to host a dinner to celebrate you guys.”

“and of course the fact that you’re contending for the championship,” blythe smiles, wiggling her eyebrows as she leans back into her seat. “and…”

“and?”

“and…” she turns her head to the source of the voice, flinching when she sees milo missing from his seat. he’s now on the ground on his knee. “oh, cut it out.”

but the ring on display for her is different this time. the plastic ring she’s come to find the humour in is no longer staring up at her. she feels her words get stuck in her throat, her grip tightening around the hem of her dress as her eyes flicker between the ring in the box and milo.

“i swear to god, milo.”

“no, i’m serious this time,” milo smiles, extending the box to her. “will you marry me?”

she looks down at the ring and she starts to nod before she can string words together. “yes, yes, oh, my god, yes. i’ll marry you.”

It had taken a long time for the Sully family to learn the ways of the Metkayina Clan, but they had done it. They were well-adjusted to the ways of surviving the ocean and its many inhabitants. Despite their small tails, nimble bodies, and lack of adaption to the ocean's ways, they had done it.

Mating was the question, now, for the Sullys’.

Jake and Neytiri were mates already, Kiri's heart had already been taken by the human that had come to live with the tribe after the battle with the sky people, Lo'ak had already mated with Tsireya, and Tuk was far too young to mate with anyone. That only left the boy who had stolen your heart without a mate; Neteyam.

You saw how the tribe members fawned over Neteyam. He was mysterious, tall, smart, and extremely quick to adapt to new situations and challenges. He was every Navi's dream, and with the news spreading that it was time for him to pick a mate, they were clinging to him obsessively.

You couldn't dare to see him with another. Not after watching him have at least one potential mate at his side for days on end. So you hid away to Eywa.

Small tears leaked from your eyes as you imagined Neteyam off with someone right now, declaring their love for each other. It felt like stones in your heart. Sobs left your lips as you covered your face with your hands trying to muffle the sound.

A hand placed itself on your shoulder, and you swatted your tail at the unknown intruder. You hissed at the dark silhouette as you moved in a position to attack.

"[Name]! It's just me, Neteyam." he moved out of the shadows and into the light, and you relaxed. Tears stained your cheeks, and your eyes were watery, and you prayed that Neteyam wouldn't notice. He moved closer to you and brought his hand to your face, "What is wrong?"

You averted your gaze, "Nothing."

Neteyam moved his hand from your cheek to your chin, moving you to look at him, "You can be honest with me."

You exhaled, "Nothing, Neteyam." You turned away from him, and held Eywa's root for the strength to overcome your emotions, "Have you found a mate yet?"

"No, not yet.

You closed your eyes in relief, "You should hurry. The tribe is awaiting your answer."

Neteyam sighed as he too grabbed a root of Eywa, "Why are you so adamant about me finding a mate?"

Your braid whipped Neteyam in the face as you spun to face him, "| want you to be happy! A mate will make you happy," you pushed your index finger into his chest, "Is that too much to ask for?"

Neteyam took your hand from his chest and grasped it in his, "You make me happy."

"I am not your mate."

"You could be"

Your eyes met his as silence arose between the two of you. His gaze was certain. Your brows furrowed, "Why me? Why not Muangtu or E'eay or Äiroku?"

Neteyam rested his forehead against yours causing your noses to brush against each other intimately. His face was so close to yours you could smell the earthy, forest scent that still surrounded his presence, "Because you are the only one I see."

Your fingers twitched against his, nervously,

"You see me?"

"I see you."

A widespread smile spread across your face as tears of joy streamed down your face, "I see you too, Neteyam."

Neteyam tilted your head slightly as he closed in the space between you two. In all truth, he was a prodigy in kissing. His tongue was instantaneous and urgent as he danced with your rather an awkward tongue, not nearly as naturally skilled. The kiss overpowered your senses. You no longer cared for your surroundings or the time of the night despite it being rather late. All you cared about was Neteyam.

He broke the space between you two leaving a trail of saliva between your previously intertwined mouths. Your chests heaved in passion as the moon created a spotlight on your two tall, enmeshed bodies. You brushed your nose against Neteyam's cheek as you moved to whisper in his ear, "Let's come together, Neteyam. Tonight under Eywa. I want everyone to know that I am the only one you see."

And with that, your souls bonded together underneath the moonlight and Eywa's heavenly gaze.

📚 favorite course you’ve taken?

uuuh idk, actually! i really liked most of my math classes, the profs were really nice and i love maths. tho my answer is probably my coding classes. those are always fun, and it's so satisfying to see your code doing more complex stuff along the course

my favorite class to learn about was probably quantum physics, however i can't say it was my favorite course bc i could not, for the life of me, pay attention to the class lol

📁 what is a project/assignment you’re really proud of?

omg, im literally hugging you rn for sending me this question. probably my final project of the degree.

it was a bit of an insane ride for me, bc long term projects are a big challenge for me. but i was thinking, hey, my supervisor will obvious check up on me regularly, right? im just a baby student, she has a whole phd, of course she won't just leave me alone? yeahh, she did. she did leave me all alone. it sucked. i was really lost, i had weeks in the first months that i didn't do almost anything and that would make me even more anxious to work on the project. honestly, i didn't learn barely anything in this project except how to work by myself. how to deal with an absent supervisor, how to take iniciative. but i ended up getting all the stuff she wanted done, i found mistakes in her own methodology and i aced the project - literally got a 20/20 final grade. (and im also really proud of the final report - 30 pages in english and my supervisor didn't find any relevant mistake on it!)

“No, please. I’m telling you—” Jihoon’s pleas fall on deaf (more like willfully ignoring) ears as he’s dragged at full strength by two of his friends.

No. He’s deciding right now. They are not his friends. From here on out, Mingyu and Chan are his enemies. “I can’t do this. Please don’t make me. You know how—”

“And, let us welcome our sixth and final guest to the stage: he’s grumpy, he’s fluffy, he once needed to be picked up from a frat party by his best friend because he was scared — he’s Lee Jihoon!”

Shoved through velvet curtains, Jihoon stumbles onto the sound stage and makes eye contact with newfound enemy number one. The orchestrator of his misfortune. Boo Seungkwan.

He smiles, holding his stupid extendable microphone. “If you could please take your seat, Jihoon. We’ll get started right away.”

With all the cameras facing him, Jihoon feels more stuck than when he had four hands dragging him here. He spots the only seat left, next to you because of fucking course it would be, and reluctantly walks over to sit behind your shared, heart-shaped podium.

You smile at him and whisper, just for him and not for any stupid show. “Hi.”

Shit.

“Hey,” he whispers back, then looks at Seungkwan because he can’t meet your eyes.

Not because he’s scared of you. No. That would be silly. He’s just… nervous with all these cameras around.

“This! Is! Game Changer: SCU!” Seungkwan introduces jauntily in his hot pink suit. “The game show we ripped straight from Dropout dot TV and brought to campus on the off-chance that none of our contestants have a subscription! I am your host, Boo Seungkwan, and I am joined today by these three lovely pairs.”

He gestures towards the three podiums one by one, and Jihoon takes the time to peek at the other players. Seungcheol and his girlfriend, Seokmin and some guy Jihoon’s never met before, and you.

“Now.” Seungkwan pushes his microphone so it collapses in on itself and slides it into the inner pocket of his suit, proving its lack of necessity. “You all understand how the game works.”

“No,” Seungcheol and his girlfriend say in sync.

The guy next to Seokmin goes, “Nope.”

You, with a playful glint in your eye, tell Seungkwan, “I might have an idea.”

“That’s right. Our players have no idea what it is they’re about to play,” Seungkwan announces, going through the same spiel he does every time he puts on this ripoff of a show.

But Jihoon tries not to react, since he actually does know how this episode of Game Changer goes. And he can’t believe they put his single ass up here. With you.

“So without further ado, let’s begin.” Seungkwan turns away from his camera and faces the podiums again. “Players, you all represent three different categories of relationships.” He points at you and Jihoon. “Best friends.” His hand moves on to Seokmin’s pair. “Casual dating.” Then Seungcheol. “And long-term relationship. There’s no doubt you guys know each other well, but how well? Our players have graciously allowed us to snoop through their phones…”

Jihoon frantically presses his hands over all his pants pockets, but to no avail. His phone is gone. When did that happen?

Mingyu. Chan. Those little shits.

“This is the Newlyweb Game: University Edition!”

Jihoon’s going to kill everyone behind those loaned-out cameras. Even Junhui, who’s just holding up the boom mic. When Jihoon gets his hand on the cord running down that pole… oh, Junhui’s gonna get it.

Seungkwan continues despite the death glares Jihoon is shooting offstage. “Our first challenge: How many unread emails does your partner have on their phone? You can use the paddles we’ve provided on your podiums to answer.”

As you lean forward to grab the paddle and dry-erase marker, Jihoon glances at you. Hiding your paddle against your chest despite not having written anything yet, you smile. “No cheating!”

He can’t help it. He smiles back. “Okay, okay,” he says, grabbing his own paddle.

Once everyone’s written their answers, Seungkwan speaks up. “Alright, let’s start with our best friends over here. How many unread emails do you think Jihoon has on his phone?”

“Well,” you say, keeping your answer hidden still. “I was actually making fun of him for this the other day. Last time I saw it, he had like 1298, so I answered” — You flip your paddle — “thirteen hundred and seven. To account for the time between then and now.”

“A confident answer,” Seungkwan says with a raised eyebrow towards the cameras. “Let’s see if it holds up. Jihoon has…” He swivels to the screen showing a big email icon. A discouraging double beep plays from somewhere when the red number at the corner appears. “...four unread emails!”

“What!” You twist in your seat to gape at Jihoon. “There’s no way.”

He just shrugs, suddenly bashful and hoping for Seungkwan to move on.

He doesn’t. Fucker.

“Why the stark difference, Jihoon?” Seungkwan prods, a smug, knowing look on his face.

You repeat, “Yeah, what?!”

“I just… you made fun of me, so I went through my inbox and archived or read them all.”

Blinking, you relax and sit back. “Oh. Wow.”

Jihoon shifts uncomfortably under the gaze of every single person in the room, on and offstage.

Seungkwan doesn’t allow time for any long, awkward silences. “And Jihoon, what was your guess?”

Flipping his paddle, he watches your reaction as he speaks. “Zero. I mean, if they’re gonna get annoying about it…”

You gasp and smack his shoulder in that ultra-light way you always do. “I do not get annoying!”

“Well, let’s see,” Seungkwan cuts in, chuckling at the way Jihoon smiles at you. “Now, if yours is a high number, you’re gonna have a lot to answer for. Survey says—!”

Another error beep goes off.

“—four hundred and sixty-two!”

Your mouth falls open, and you point an accusatory finger at Seungkwan. “You counted my spam email!”

At the same time, Jihoon turns to you and just goes, “Dude…” while the other players oooh like you just got called down to the principal’s office.

“Spam emails are emails!” Seungkwan argues back. “What do you have to say for yourself?”

“Okay, I have a professional email address and a spam one. Obviously I’m not opening and reading every email from Mark’s Work Warehouse.”

Seungkwan stifles a laugh. “You subscribed to Mark’s Work Warehouse?”

“I didn’t,” you clarify. “I literally have no idea how they found me.”

Despite shaving being a challenge at first with just one arm, Shanks keeps his facial hair in his very particular style because for the life of him, he cannot grow a proper beard. He's attempted a few times, but it grows in patchy and scraggly and a little sad, and shaving is worth the effort compared to dealing with days of unending (good-natured) ribbing from his crew.
