i have two (2) ideas based on this so yall chew on these
1: actor eddie x publicist steve where eddie is notoriously obnoxious at every public appearance in an effort to self sabotage to the point of not having to attend them anymore vs pr industry famous publicist steve whose whole schtick is somehow having his clients so whipped that when he tells them not to embarrass him they have no choice but to obey.
eddie doesn't even realize it's happened until he's being interviewed on a red carpet and he thanks the interviewer before he leaves.
and 2, the polar opposite: actor eddie whose publicist is now out of a job bc his new pop star singer boyfriend has him so wrapped around his finger he wouldn't dare embarrass him and therefore has wiped his public image squeaky clean without attending a single nda meeting
This is from Poet Fic and is dedicated to everyone who has had a tummy ache recently.
An hour later, Andrea calls Carlos for dinner. He thinks he’s ravenous, but after a few bites of lasagna he has to put down his fork and take a moment to compose himself. His last swallow made him want to retch. Gabriel, perpendicular at the head of the table, swirls his fork around spiralized zucchini, watching his son carefully.
“Carlitos, something wrong with your food?” he asks, his tone like he’s accusing a criminal of a gnarly murder.
“Can I be excused?” Carlos asks.
“No. You can stay here and eat your dinner,” Gabriel tells him.
Directly across the table, Andrea is sipping red wine. Carlos can’t read her expression. Concern? Disappointment?
“This again?” she says, slowly bringing her wine glass down to her coaster. Disappointment. The again refers to Monday night, when he couldn’t stomach her spicy meatball spaghetti.
“I’m sorry. I don’t feel so good. I’m not hungry.” His voice is so far away he might as well be speaking down a bad phoneline. The torture of a nervous stomach is almost daily now.
“It’s because you eat junk food all the time,” Gabriel says.
On Christmas Eve, Gabriel entered the kitchen to find Carlos squeezing a honey from the teddy bear bottle directly into his mouth. He’s never really let it go.
Dinners, now both Ana and Luisa have moved out, are always such hard work. All his parents’ focus zeroes in on him. Last week, Luisa visited from college. Blissful, to have her holding court the whole time. She talked endlessly about her roommate who happens to be one of the lesser-Rockefellers and has joined the socialist party.
Carlos swirls a few strands of zucchini around his fork, mirroring his father. Only recently has he realized that mirroring is something he does, and he hates it, but he also can’t seem to stop. He takes a mouthful, showing his parents he’s eating his greens. Today it’s rancid. He might as well be chowing down algae.
I really liked the prompt for this day, so I decided to do a concept sketch- I really want to finish it but never got to in time, so hopefully I'll have it up by the end of this month.
This is based on the second to last scene of this lovely fic !! I was talking about it with somebody else recently and it's been back on my mind ever since- Something about Dean internalized homophobia/intimacy issues but still trying anyways is just so dear to me.
Happy Pride everybody!! Stay strong and stay gay 🩷❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜

Hi! I just wanted to say, I found "Don't fall away from me" when you uploaded chapter 43. I got confused though, somehow, and started reading from there.
By the end, I thought "well, that was one hell of a first chapter! Slightly confusing at times, but also, this is such an amazing premise! I can't wait to discover how all of this came to be!"
Scrolled down. No "Next chapter" button, only one for "previous chapter". When I tell you I felt bamboozled :'D
Anyway, I'm now reading the story basically as one long flashback, which just adds so much angst and tension to it...
I'm far from done reading, but I'm really enjoying it so far!
This has made me absolutely cackle, I remember 43 very well and I could see how you'd think it might be a standalone chapter, although INCREDIBLY confusing (i would say more but no spoilers here lol)... well, I sincerely hope it's as good in retrospect. I think the quality of my writing improved considerably as I found my voice (Chapter 1 was literally the first thing I'd written in 18 years) so I hope it isn't too jarring to go back.
Enjoy the story, and at least you won't have your poor heart as utterly smashed as the poor readers who came along on the ride with me!
Thank you so, so much for these super kind words and taking time out of your day to send them to me, it really does mean a whole lot 🥰
