that infamous ryan murphy quote about how quinn was supposed to be this unsympathetic mean girl character to me and dianna “ruined” that is crazy to me because the poor girl finds out that she’s pregnant as early as season 1 episode 4 😭 and proceeds to get knocked down by life nearly every single episode after for the remainder of the first season. dianna did play a large part in making quinn so likable and sympathetic (in the following seasons especially but even just in season 1 also) but even just her character on paper kind of makes your heart ache for her. she’s only 15/16 years old, gets pregnant under some dubious circumstances, loses so much in the process, is kicked out of her own home and disowned by her father, bounces from place to place to live until actual angel mercedes steps in, struggles with the hardships of teen pregnancy and the decision of what she wants to do while literally being 15/16 years old. and of course she makes her fair share of mistakes along the way, she’s by no means perfect. she’s a bully when we first meet her and she lies to finn about him being the father. but my god i don’t know how you couldn’t not feel bad for this child, dianna and her wonderful ability of making quinn likable to watch onscreen aside.
We're doing it we're answering asks, let's goooo
That said an ask about the infamous Ryan Murphy quote has been sitting in my inbox for about 4 months at this point oops haha, but we'll answer one at a time
Cause girl! That's what I've been saying! Like, regardless of what RM actually meant when he backhand complimented Dianna I truly believe that this bitch didn't consider how sympathetic Quinn was bound to be and he's so wrong for that. There's no way you can have a character go through as much as Quinn did, on a show like Glee that ostensibly champions the downtrodden and not have her be sympathetic. I truly believe that three male writers didn't think people would feel for Quinn as much as they did in that situation. Which is bonkers because was she cruel towards Finn? Sure, but even Beth's conception itself is so dubious like we've covered before. But even IF Quinn was just some cold-hearted calculating whore who wanted to hurt Puck and Finn and everyone around her, she's still a 16-year-old pregnant girl who gets disowned. Come on! How the fuck am I supposed to feel more for Finchel's "tragic" inter-social (i.e. high school) class relationship in the face of that. Fuck relationship drama, this girl is h o m e l e s s and pregnant.
I really feel like the message of Glee throughout Quinn's pregnancy storyline up until the point Quinncedes happens is that Quinn... had all the hardships coming. That she deserved to be knocked down a peg. Only it happened through her getting knocked up and it's super messed up that the show pretends she's anything but a victim. Who the hell cares that she's bitchy. Who the hell cares that popularity is important to her. Newsflash assholes, it's just as important to out supposed heroes. Lmao I get so mad about Quinn's treatment. And this is why I can't in good conscience get behind people who say s1 is Quinn's best and that the pregnancy storyline was done well. No it wasn't. It decentred her whenever possible and wasn't in the least bit sympathetic if not for like, a single scene in Ballad and from Home on. And, of course, if not for Dianna. RM should be grateful Dianna did her thing with Quinn cause framing your arguably most tragic character as if she had it coming just because she's a bully at 15 is not a good look. But that's a recurring thing for Glee, ain't it. The more I think about it the more I believe Quinn and Santana's treatment re: pregnancy and outing are similar.
Quinn is a walking talking, but mostly crying tragedy. It's frankly disturbing that for some time they cling to this idea of her being irredeemable when she's just a mean kid playing into the same system everyone else does, too. But she happens to be on top and schadenfreude is real, I guess. Except it really wasn't for me there was no part of me that felt any justice in what Quinn went through. And guess what? Neither did Rachel. And I don't think Rachel is meant to represent the audience's perspective when she shows Quinn kindness in season 1 but alas, she does. I don't trust no bitches who don't feel the same.

Love your Betty analysis. Would you type Simon as LEFV?
Thanks! I was thinking about his type too
I can agree on Simon being 4V, especially low volition one. In Fionna and Cake he shows his low will very well, he acts to people everyday just to please them with no benefit to him. Simon does those chores everyday and completely subordinate in the situation he is in like 4V would have. This subordinance also shows with campaign with Finn. It is his mundane life and he doesn't change it at all. His low volition is also expressed through his complete irresponsibity of his actions. He doesn't care about consequences of his actions. In answer on Prismo's question, he just boldly says: "Whatever". He is just a lost 4V who had 1V once in lis life that filled his meaning of life all the time.
There is no social hierarchical problem like 3V would have. I would say he doesn't care about having social position in OOO AT ALL. What problem he has is that there is no one who looks after him anymore. He was a lot, LOT better in obsidian with Marceline. Fourth volition has a will of a child: they don't know why they are listening to their parents, neither don't know where their actions will lead to. I can get why he desperately needs Betty in his life back at this point. She was the one who led him the whole life and there is no one who can satisfy his other functions anymore. Betty was the meaning of his life. If this is not how 4V sees those who completes their life, then i don't know what is this.
2E is another function i will agree on. Another example is from Fionna and Cake, he calmly acts for people of OOO. It is not his real emotions but an emotional play towards people around him. He is an real actor of his life.
1L is also obvious. His 4V hard stubborness comes from his all-knowing ass. He is very confident in his thinking position ("Nothing doesn't matter anyway"), so confident that Fionna needed to SLAP him just to finally get to his mind. It also connects with his professor job and Betty's 3L interest in high logic. He knows his opinions and confident on telling them.
I can also see 3F in him. I saw him caring about physical order in your room and daily self-care routine. He probably has processing physics and most likely an unconfident one. There is literally a whole episode with Finn that shows Simon's peak insecurity in physics. His physical incompetence shows everywhere: he fears everything with his life and can't catch any break with Finn's 1F.
Yeah, he could be very much LEFV

Love isn't Weakness: A Bellarke Fanfic

Prev / Next Part
Chapter 8
Writer’s P.O.V
When Clarke woke up from her dream at first she couldn’t believe that what she saw in her dream was a dream...she realized she wanted what her dream told her, and that her sister was wrong...love wasn’t weakness, not at all. Clarke got up and ready for school and then she heard Bellamy’s car horn so she went out the door as fast as she could.
“Good morning, princess,” he says when he sees her.
“Good morning, did you just get here?” she asked him.
“No, I’ve been out here for about 20 min”
“Why didn’t you text me...O did give you my number right?”
“No” so Clarke takes his phone and puts her number into it as does Bellamy with her phone but then he realizes that she already had his number. “How do you have my number?” he asks.
“Murphy,” she says.
“Of course”
They leave but before they do Murphy sees Clarke in the front seat of Bellamy Blake’s truck and he is not happy. When Murphy first met Bellamy he warned him to stay away from the one blonde girl that will be around him all the time...and Bellamy listened... until now. Murphy is very protective when it comes to his sister so when he sees one of his closest friends hanging around her… he doesn’t take it well.
Bellamy and Clarke get to school and the gang is there waiting for Bellamy to arrive, they did expect Clarke to be in the front seat but they don’t ask questions about it...at least not yet. Raven, the girl that Finn cheated on her with and the woman Finn is still with sees her and doesn’t look happy that she is hanging around Bellamy, Raven is part of the gang and that is another reason Clarke hasn’t joined the gang is because they don’t get along that great. Clarke doesn’t know what her problem is with her other than she was the person in the way of her and Finn...well not anymore.
Clarke walks away from the group after saying hello to her friends that are in the gang...only a couple...Bellamy notices that she doesn’t want to be around so many people so she walks away. He follows her and in her mind she is asking why he is...she couldn’t get her dream out of her head and at the same time she didn’t want to.
Clarke’s P.O.V
I walk away from the gang and Bellamy notices and he follows me and I don’t know why...one thing that is racing in my head is the dream I had last night. I think that's what I want but I’m too afraid to have.
“Princess, you okay” Bellamy asks me when he catches up with me.
“Yeah just overwhelmed, I don’t like people that much you know that” I tell him.
“I know, what's wrong between you and Raven”
“She doesn’t like me”
“Why”
“Because I was her lovers girlfriend and I was in the way of her plans so she doesn’t like me and seems like she doesn’t like me even more now because when she saw me with you she looked even more pissed”
“Yeah, there’s a rumor that she has a thing for me...I don’t know...anyway it’s just a rumor so” he says.
“Wow, she gets my boyfriend and the friends, what do I get...oh I know bullied by her” I say kinda under my breath.
“You’re bullied by her”
“She taunts me”
“That doesn’t sound like Raven”
“Have I ever lied to you, if you ask her she would lie about everything but I didn’t...I even told you about Murphy and me being siblings”
“I know...hey what happened last night, I saw Murphy on the porch waiting for you then you shooed me off before we got to the door...I get why you did but what happened?” he asks me while sitting next to me on the bleachers.
“He asked me where I was and I told him I was with a friend and not to worry, then he told me that Anya didn’t tell him where I was going when she said she would so that’s why he was worried then we went to bed...you left before he saw you...and I hope this morning he didn’t see me get in your car or he might kick your ass” I tell him.
“Lets just hope he didn’t, that’s all we can do, right?”
“Yeah”
The bell rings and I get up and walk to class, Octavia is in my first, third, and last period and I know she is going to ask me questions until I answer them for her. Don’t get me wrong I love O but she can be very irritating at times. I already can hear her asking if me and her brother are something yet even though I told her we were never going to happen.

A/N: This chapter is a whirlwind! Please enjoy and let me know what you think!
________
It was a close to an hour later and you were halfway through a bottle of bourbon, laying on the back porch of your mom’s house, staring at the rafters and debating finishing off the whole thing.
“Y/N?” you heard. Your skin crawled as you sat up, spotting your father at the other end of the wrap around. “Are you drunk?”
“This would be an appropriate time to tell you that yes, I am and I also have this,” you said, reaching behind your and picking up a hunting rifle. “I might be plastered but I think that’ll only improve my aim. I’ll be nice and shoot for your balls first.”
“You got so much wrong about me kid.”
You fired a shot near his feet and he held up his hands.
“Why don’t you go jump off a bridge or some shit,” you said.
“Y/N.”
You pulled the trigger as he took a step forward and he jumped when it hit the window nearby. You pulled again but it just clicked as he walked closer.
“Your new momma never taught you that kind of rifle only has two shots, did she,” he said. You tried to stand but got way too dizzy and fell down.
“Well I can still tear you apart with my teeth,” you said.
“You’re drunk and judging by your face, very upset. What happened to that boy you were with? I didn’t see him when I looked around.”
“Touch me and that boy will rip your head off.”
“This doesn’t have to be a bad thing,” he said, stepping far too close for your liking. You swung the rifle at him but he caught it and kicked the bottle away before you could get at it. “All grown up. Probably enjoy it now.”
You crawled back as far as you could, eyes darting behind him when you saw movement. You barely caught the brown hair and green eyes before your father was face first on the porch. You tried to stand but he yanked on your ankle and pulled you down hard. It took a long time to peel open your eyes again, your father now at Jensen’s feet. Jensen pushed down on his back while he talked on the phone to someone and it didn’t take long to hear sirens in the distance.
“For the record,” said Jensen as he walked over to you and crouched down, his belt around your father’s wrists, “I didn’t believe you for a second. Oh and you’re a dumbass but you’re my dumbass. Forever. Got it?”
“I couldn’t…” you trailed off. He nodded and took off his flannel, wrapping it over your shoulders. “I knew he would do something and I couldn’t have him near the kids or know they exist. I couldn’t-”
“I know, honey,” he said. “But don’t you dare ever do anything like that again.”
You put your head down sniffled, dizzy still as he rubbed your back before going back to watching your dad.
It took an hour or so before you could go home and you were sober enough to stand on your own.
“Can I ask why you made the executive decision that you did?” asked Jensen, holding your arm loosely as you got into his car to head back.
“Because I’m stupid,” you said dryly from the passenger seat as he turned on his SUV.
“I mean more so why didn’t you come to me if you were scared? Why make up a lie?”
“You did let me go. You must have believed me at least for a few seconds,” you said.
“No, I actually didn’t.”
“You let me go.”
He was quiet until you got close to the brewery, Jensen pulling off onto the plot of land he owned next to it. You leaned your head against the cold window and he turned off the engine.
“This whole, tired, don’t talk to me attitude right now? Been there. Lived it. I know it’s bullshit.”
“You let me leave so you did believe me so-” you said, Jensen pressing a finger to your lips.
“I am certain of very few things and you are one of them. I let you go so I could figure out what scared you so badly you’d lie, to me. There’s only one thing I can think of so before you even had a foot out of that house, I was calling people and I got put on with Detective Finn who worked your case as a kid and I find out that dick for brains sack of shit just moved practically down the street from us. It does not take a genius to put the pieces together.”
“Fine! I did it in some stupid attempt to protect you,” you said. You glared at him and he shook his head. “What?”
“I’m not gonna get mad at you.” You put your head back on the window and stared out to the dark trees, sniffling some. “Why do you want me to be angry with you?”
“Uh because I didn’t forget to turn on the washing machine or leave on a light. I lied. I lied so big that-”
“You lied to protect your family from a monster. Do I wish you had told me? Yes. But I fuck up so much and you’ve never once been angry with me for making a mistake and I’ll never be angry with you for making one either. I know you want me to be angry with you, feel like you should be punished for what you imagine is hurting me. But you didn’t hurt me, Y/N. You didn’t and I know you get that because so many times you’ve been on the other side of this and I know you’ve never once thought, oh yeah Jensen’s a piece of shit, let him really have it. No. Just no. So I’m not getting mad at you and I don’t know what to fucking say to make you feel better like you always do me and I’m so sorry he got so close to hurting you again. But I’m really good at fighting monsters in this family. So please next time, I don’t care if you’re scared of the bug on the wall or you think someone’s outside the house or what it is. If you’re scared, tell me and I’ll do my best to make it go away, I promise.”
“What do you do when you want to hate yourself for being an idiot?” you asked quietly. You heard him shift in his seat and you shut your eyes, the sound of a door opening and then another. Strong arms wrapped around you and you buried your face in his chest.
“I try to treat myself as kindly as she does. She would never hate me and she hates when I’m in pain. I see it all over her face. So I try to cut myself some slack and ask myself if she would hate me and when I realize no, I’m forced to forgive myself and it normally takes a few hours but it works pretty good. A lot of hugs and cuddling don’t hurt either.”
“Thank you for stopping him.”
“Don’t.”
“Thank you. I owe you so, so much.”
“You don’t owe me a damn thing. We got each other’s backs and that’s all there is to it. I’m just sad I missed you trying to shoot his dick off.”
“How did you know where to find me?”
“Find my iPhone. Also I figured that was a good place to check,” he said. “I would have been here sooner if Jared didn’t drive like a tortoise over to the house to watch the kids.”
“I’m sorry I scared you...and you had to do that tonight.”
“Oh punching your father was a personal highlight for me. Trust me,” he said. He stroked your cheek and you turned into the touch, eyes squeezing shut. “You’re safe.”
“He’s going to get out on bail and-”
“And we have a very good lawyer. Oh, and I know the mayor so fuck his ass, he’s not getting bail.”
You buried your face once again and he put a finger under your chin, lifting it up.
“You’re still scared.”
“He’s gonna get arrested for what, trespassing? Attempted assault? I was drunk and shot at him. He can spin it. He can spin it and be out on the street like that.”
“I’m going to ask the lawyer to do something else, something that maybe can take care of that problem.”
“What?”
“Once a piece of shit, always a piece of shit. He’s been gone for fifteen years. I have this bad feeling you weren’t the only one. Or even before that.”
“Or maybe he just hates me.”
“You don’t have to be scared. I’m gonna take care of it.”
“Jensen, I know you don’t have to worry about the money but it might still not be enough.”
“It’s enough,” he said. “Or else next time I’ll be the one with the rifle.”
“You would kill him?”
“Honestly? Yeah if it came to it. I wish people like him died in car crashes, not innocent ones. We have every right to protect ourselves and our family and I’m not letting him touch the kids or you ever.”
“I should probably say that’s bad but I don’t disagree.”
“Money works a lot. A real lot. Maybe he did something super bad and he can rot in prison forever.”
“Maybe,” you said, spotting a cruiser pull up nearby.
“Stay here, sweetie,” he said. He walked over while the officer got out. He spoke to Jensen for a moment, Jensen’s face a bit blank when he turned around.
“What’s wrong?”
“Your dad had a heart attack in the backseat,” said Jensen quietly. You cocked your head and he shook his. “Your father. In the police cruiser that was taking him for booking. He was just pronounced.”
“He died?”
“He was really overweight and didn’t look to be in the best health. He probably got his heart rate up too high and...the officer said he’d escort us home, stay outside the house for the night, calm our nerves.”
“He’s really dead?” you asked. You looked over at the officer and he came over, giving you a quick smile. “He really died?”
“Yes mam.”
“What...happens now?” you asked.
“We’ll file the report but you don’t necessarily need to press charges anymore. You’re next of kin as far as we’re aware so the body…” he trailed off when he looked at you. “We can talk about this with your lawyer.”
“Thanks,” said Jensen. “We’ll be on the road in a minute.”
The officer climbed back in his cruiser, Jensen leaning against the doorframe. He tucked your hair behind your ear, letting out a deep breath.
“Y/N,” he said. He stroked your cheek, your head turning up. “What is it, honey?”
“I don’t feel bad at all. I’m actually happy. That kinda is freaking me out a little. You shouldn’t be happy someone died.”
“Most people you’re right, you shouldn’t. But there are exceptions. He tormented you. He harassed you. He came after our family. I’m gonna sleep just fine tonight knowing he’s never coming back in our lives.”
“Were you scared of him?” He ducked his head down and you took hold of his hand. “Jensen.”
“Put it this way, I’d protect my family by any means necessary. What scares me was what if I was five minutes later tonight. Ten minutes. My job is to protect you and especially from monsters like that.”
“I’m a big girl Jensen. You don’t have to protect me from anything.”
“Yes I do, just like if it were me in your shoes I know you’d have done the same exact thing. We protect each other. It’s not because I’m the guy or I’m stronger. You’re my family and that’s what we do.”
“Thank you for protecting me and forgiving me for being stupid earlier,” you said. He smiled and nodded.
“You’re my dumbass and I’m yours,” he said. “Want to go home now?”
“Yeah. Yeah, I really do.”
“He’s really gonna spend the night?” you asked half an hour later in bed, Jensen shutting the door after himself. “He knows there’s a cop outside, right?”
“What can I say, Jared...he thinks of you like a little sister,” he said. “I can’t blame him for being protective.”
“I’ll be right back,” you said. You climbed out of bed and went downstairs, the light dim aside from where Jared was reading on the couch, a blanket over his legs. He looked over the top of the book and set it down, sitting up.
“Everything alright?” he asked. You smiled and took a seat on the edge of the couch, pulling him into a hug.
“Thanks for staying,” you said, a pair of large arms wrapped around your back.
“Of course.”
“You do know there’s nobody to bother us now, right?”
“I know. Some peace of mind never hurt anybody though,” he said. “Go on back to your fiance. You guys had a rough night.”
“Yeah,” you said, closing your eyes. “Thanks.”
He kissed your temple and you returned to your room, Jensen pulling you under the covers. You let out a deep breath, turning into his side.
“Here,” he said. He started to take off his bracelet but you shook your head.
“It’s yours, Jensen. I feel safe, I promise.”
“You’re tense still, honey.”
“Still working on that not being so angry at myself thing,” you said. He smiled and kissed you quickly, laying an arm over your waist. “I know what you said but I still want you to be pissed at me for lying.”
“You didn’t hurt me.”
“But-”
“You didn’t hurt me, Y/N and you know what? Sometimes, you’re gonna hurt me and I’m gonna hurt you. We’ll have bad days and get annoyed with one another. I’ll leave dishes in the sink and make a mess of the closet. You’ll chew with your mouth open and never fill up your car with gas until it’s too low. We’re not perfect. But even if we do hurt each other, we forgive each other because that’s what you do. We’re not always gonna like each other and what we do but we’ll always love each other. I don’t want to be mad at you. I want you to feel safe and know that I understand why you did what you did. I do. Please try to let it go, for me.”
“I am trying,” you said quietly. You shut your eyes and turned away, his arm over you pulling you back against his chest. “You’re normal. I can’t just stop hating myself like that.”
“You think I’m normal?” he chuckled. “Me?”
“Did you ever have to punch Dee’s psycho father? Did you ever have to talk about protecting her? Did she ever put your family in danger? Did she ever-”
“Y/N.”
“Go away,” you said, pushing his arm off of you. You moved over farther on your side of the bed, tucking your covers under your chin. The bed shifted and you tried to move again but his arm pulled you straight back to his chest, fingers dipping under your ribcage and holding you in place.
“I might not have had to have done those things for her but I would have. For the record, you didn’t put anyone in danger. That fucking asshole did. It is not your fault he was an evil and vile person. All you did was try to protect us because you were scared and I know, I know you didn’t tell me because you’re so scared of that man and I don’t blame you. He made my skin crawl and I interacted with him for all of five minutes. Get it out of your system however you need to but you are stuck with me forever. There is nothing you could do to make me want you gone so get used to it.”
“You shouldn’t have to deal with this,” you breathed out. You pulled your sheets over your head, taking deep heaving breaths. “You have so much to worry about already. You shouldn’t have to…”
“Did you think I couldn’t handle the news?” he asked. “That your father was so close by?”
“I thought you’d hate me,” you whispered. He tugged down your sheets and you squeezed your eyes shut as he turned you around.
“Look at me.”
“No.”
“Why not?”
“Now you’re angry.”
“Look at me.” You forced them open, meeting a soft face and sad eyes. “Why would I ever hate you?”
“My shit’s supposed to stay in the past. You don’t…” you said, Jensen furrowing his brow. “See, you’re mad.”
“What’s that supposed to mean? Your shit stays in the past.”
“It means you’ve had the world’s worst fucking year and you’re in such a good place now and you need to focus on you and not have my shit come in and fuck that up.”
“Do you think I can’t take care of you?” he asked.
“No of course not.”
“It sounds like you’re saying that you think you can’t have problems cause I can’t handle it.”
“Well at least I got what I wanted with you pissed,” you said, glaring up at him, tears welling in your eyes. You tried to push away but he held his arm around you. “Jensen, let me up.” You pushed again and he glared right back. “Stop it. Let me out of bed.” He only glared and you tore your eyes away from his face.
“Do you think I’m weak?”
“No,” you said, keeping your head low.
“Then why-”
“Because you need a fucking break. I dealt with this shit years and years ago. I understand needing a fucking break and people need to take care of you, help you. You’re a different man than the one I met way back in January. You’re so happy and healthy and you have a different outlook on life again and that’s incredible. I’m so proud of you for that. But you’re just, just out of the woods and I’m not gonna be the one that sends you back in because of my fucking problems.”
“They’re our fucking problems,” he said. “Our problems. There’s no your problems or my problems anymore. It’s us together. Why do you think I’d hate you?”
“Jensen,” you said, pushing on his chest. “Stop.”
“Why?”
“I said stop!”
“Tell me.”
“Because I’m scared,” you said. He let his hold go lax and you sat up, getting out of bed. You walked over to the balcony door and rested your forehead against the cool glass. The bed creaked and you felt his presence behind you.
“You’re scared of me.” You scrunched up your face and nodded. “Why?”
“Because if you realized how fucked up I am, you wouldn’t come near me with a ten foot pole. I’m not supposed to cause you problems. I’m supposed to fix them, be there for you.”
“But I can’t be there for you. You assume I’m just a dick where it’s only me and my shit that we can work on right?” he said.
“I didn’t say that.”
“Relationships go both ways, Y/N. I don’t expect you to take care of me for the rest of my life. You are allowed to need help too.”
“You don’t understand.”
“No, you don’t understand,” he said, grabbing your arm and spinning you around. He was frowning, his voice an octave higher if you didn’t know any better. “Do you honestly think I would have been angry at you if you told me about your father being in town? Do you?”
“I put the kids-”
“For the last time, you didn’t put anyone in danger,” he growled. “What is going on with you?”
“How many times do I have to say it, I’m not supposed to cause any problems!” you said.
“Yes you are! You, me, the kids. We’re all gonna have fucking problems sooner or later. Why do you think I’d hate you for telling me you had a problem, sweetheart?”
You fidgeted with the bottom of your shirt, looking past him.
“Something with your dad, isn’t it. Something got triggered in you after that phone call with the detective, didn’t it.”
“Call Ray. Tell him to come over,” you said quietly. He nodded and grabbed his phone, sending off a quick message before he was guiding you to sit on the bed.
“Honey,” he said when you pulled away from him. “Okay, no touching. Can I get you anything while we wait for Ray?”
“Probably should tell that cop that we’re expecting someone,” you said, rubbing your hands against your thighs. “Fuck, tell Ray it’s the help thing. He’ll understand.”
“Okay,” he said with a nod. You rubbed your legs harder and he stared at you. “Y/N.”
“I’m trying not to have a panic attack,” you grit out. “I haven’t had one since I was eight.”
Your head was turned and you felt his hands on your cheeks, Jensen forcing a smile. You stared for a long beat before you took a breath, his head nodding.
“That feels better,” you said, your hands not rubbing so hard. You heard feet and the door open, glancing behind Jensen to catch Jared in the doorway. You could feel your heart rate pick up, Jared nodding.
“I get panic attacks too,” he said. You nodded and Jensen glanced over his shoulder. “I heard arguing.”
“Can you tell that cop outside Ray is coming by and to let him in?” said Jensen.
“Sure. Who’s Ray?” asked Jared.
“Her mom’s old boyfriend and foster dad. He was her therapist when she was little. Something’s not right,” said Jensen.
“I’ll send him up as soon as he gets here.”
You felt calmer by the time Ray was walking in fifteen minutes later in sweats and not much more.
“Hey kiddo,” said Ray, giving you a quick hug before he squatted down in front of you. “Doing okay?”
You shook your head and shut your eyes, Jensen holding an arm around you. He explained what happened, Ray staying quiet. You eventually opened your eyes to stare at the floor, Ray standing and pulling over the bench from the end of the bed to sit on.
“Y/N do you want Jensen to stay?” he asked. You nodded and he hummed. “Y/N.”
“Yes,” you said dryly. “Can I have some water?”
Jensen got up and retrieved a glass from the bathroom, the pair of them watching you chug half of it down before you sat it on the nightstand.
“Y/N, does Jensen know what triggered you?” he asked.
“Not specifically. Asking for help he figured out but not the reason,” you said, looking away.
“Well on the bright side, you didn’t have a panic attack, you worked through it, you trusted Jensen to help you through it even if he didn’t know why and some of your coping skills helped you out quite a bit. But this is something Jensen needs to know. You’ll need help in a relationship and I know this is the big one but he needs to know so this never happens again,” said Ray.
“What if he thinks I overreacted?” you said.
“I won’t, trust me,” said Jensen. “Secret’s safe with me.”
“Go on, Y/N,” said Ray. You took a deep breath and Jensen held your hand, stroking his thumb over the back.
“So you kinda figured out that me having a problem was the trigger and that I didn’t ask for your help earlier and kinda assumed a bad reaction if I did.”
“Yup and that’s all okay,” he said softly.
“It wasn’t because of you that I assumed you’d have a bad reaction. It was something that happened to me that sort of...default my head to react and anticipate things in a certain way in that particular situation.”
“So if you have a problem and ask for help, you assume the person you’re asking for help from will not take it in a good way?” he asked.
“Yeah, basically. If it’s a really big problem and if I anticipate that the problem would upset the person I’m asking then my head assumes this bad thing will happen. In that case, it assumes the much better option is to not reveal the problem at all and handle it myself because then the bad thing won’t happen,” you said.
“The bad thing. It’s bad isn’t it,” he said. “Really bad.”
“Y/N, remember you can share without the graphics involved,” said Ray. You nodded and leaned your head back.
“When I was six I broke something of my dad’s. A mug. His favorite mug. I picked up the pieces but I knew it was his favorite so I didn’t throw it out. I asked him for help putting it back together,” you said. “The amount of rage he had over a broken mug...I never experienced such a horrible day in all eight years as that one.”
He didn’t say anything and you tucked your feet up, holding one up to him and showing the bottom. He stared at it and cocked his head, narrowing his eyes. It took him a moment but you saw when he noticed the small little scars. His eyes flickered back to yours and you nodded.
“He hurt me badly,” you said. “All day long.” He stared at you and you told him exactly the way the scars came to be, Jensen shuddering and closing his eyes. “It wasn’t a good day.”
“Fuck,” he said, standing up and rubbing his arm. “You were six?”
He shook his head and went to the balcony door, taking a deep breath.
“Jensen. You alright?” asked Ray.
“No,” he said, turning around, looking to you. “That many times?”
“One for every broken piece,” you said. He ran his hands over his face and shut his eyes. “The worst thing was just that it went on all day. It was long enough for me to interpret it as conditioning for a result of an event rather than just a bad memory from everything me and Ray worked out back in the day. It hasn’t been a trigger for me ever really but we knew it could be someday for a big life problem potentially. I’m guessing with it involving my dad, it kinda sent me into overdrive earlier.”
“Jensen,” said Ray, shooting you a quick glance. “Y/N’s okay. I’m actually quite impressed with her behavior. There was no hesitancy or waiver in her voice. I don’t feel as though this will likely be an issue ever again now that it’s out in the open and her father is gone.”
“You’re the closest thing to a father she’s ever had,” said Jensen, rubbing the back of his neck. “You know every horrible thing that’s happened to her and, and you just...all you did was throw him out of the country for fifteen years?”
“First off, the law was different back then and it was a lifetime ban. Second of all, buddy, violence isn’t always the answer to violence,” said Ray, getting to his feet.
“You should have adopted her.”
“She didn’t want me to.”
“You were the damn adult. She was the kid. Act like one,” said Jensen. “I mean fuck, you adopted two other kids only a few years later.”
“If I had adopted her you wouldn’t even know she fucking exists,” shot back Ray. “Her father still would have come back and this would have happened regardless.”
“You should have done what you needed to the second he popped up again when she was a teenager.”
“I did not strike you as a violent man but I do not like it.”
“She was almost assaulted by that man again tonight,” growled Jensen. “He tortured her and tormented her and he got barely any time at all for that. I would have-”
“Why’d you call the police then?” he asked. Jensen swallowed and Ray shrugged. “Why back at the farmhouse did you call the police? You could have killed him, called it self-defense and been done with it. Why?”
Jensen looked down and Ray sighed.
“The price for being a good person is making hard decisions, Jensen. Would I have loved to have rid the world of that son of a bitch the second I learned all about him? Oh you don’t know the half of it. I’m a trauma therapist, Jensen. Mostly for kids and teenagers. Do you know how much fucked up shit I’ve heard in my life? The world has so much ugliness in it. But it’s got good too and that’s why you called the police like you were supposed to and that’s why she loves you. She needs a good man, not a violent one. I’m not saying don’t think about protecting your family. But don’t act on it unless you don’t have a fucking choice, kid. Understand me?”
Jensen nodded and Ray cleared his throat.
“Say it.”
“Yes, sir,” said Jensen quietly.
“Ray, don’t get mad at him. He’s not used to this stuff,” you said. You stood and pulled Jensen back to the bed, Ray crossing his arms and nodding. “If I ever feel this happening again, what should I do?”
“You could work on reconditioning instead,” said Ray. “Work on saying I have a problem to Jensen and ask for help, even if there isn’t a problem. If Jensen responds positively or even neutrally and you two work at it maybe an hour or so a day for the next week or two, I don’t think you’ll ever have to be afraid of that trigger coming back. All of your triggers Y/N have involved your father. I know similarities can set you off but they’re small, manageable. You never have to worry about anyone hurting you ever again.”
“I know. I should have trusted my partner to have my back,” you said.
“I don’t blame you. I didn’t before and I definitely don’t now,” said Jensen. Ray smiled and pulled the bench back over to the bed.
“Get some rest you two,” he said.
“Ray?” you said after he gave you a hug. “Why didn’t you adopt me?”
“Honestly?” he asked. You nodded, Jensen preening his ears. “You reminded me so much of your mother and I was devastated when we lost her. I should have been the adult and done what was right but after seeing her in pain for years...I didn’t have it in me to take on a grieving teenager that would have been just as angry back at me. She already was so angry then, I would have put fuel on the flames. I didn’t have it in me to be strong anymore and that’s my mistake for not trying.”
“You can adopt adults,” said Jensen. You both looked at him and he smiled. “Adults can be adopted.”
“Not sure if…” trailed off Ray as you smiled at him. “Y/N, we’ve only just started talking again.”
“Maybe if that keeps going well...maybe things could...work out…” you said. “If you wanted.”
“Yeah, maybe we can do that,” he said with a smile. “It’s getting late. Put her to bed. Don’t be surprised if there’s a nightmare or two tonight.”
“Okay. Thank you,” said Jensen as Ray started to leave.
“Take care of her kid,” he said. Jensen nodded and you lay back in bed, the house growing quiet.
“I’m so sorry,” said Jensen, his head lowering after a few moments. “I should have realized…”
“You did realize,” you said, sitting up. “Even when my head couldn’t come out and say I trust you and I know I’m acting a certain way because of what my dad put me through, you stayed calm and figured it out. You got nothing to be sorry for.”
“I’m sorry he hurt you. I got to pretend to be a cowboy and my dad read me stories when I was six. The worst thing I ever got was a few smacks but I know he regrets doing that,” he said. “Even then it was because I was acting out not…I just don’t understand why he would ever hurt you.”
“I stopped trying to understand him a long time ago,” you said, the door opening. You both turned, Arrow walking in with a pair of wet eyes. “You have a nightmare, sweetie?”
“I went…to the bathroom…” she said when you noticed her holding her wrist. Jensen hopped up and walked over, picking her up gently and setting her beside you. “I fell down off the step stool. It was wet.”
“Tell me what hurts,” he said.
“My hand,” she said.
“Let daddy see,” you said. She moved her hand back and you both saw her wrist was swollen and bruised. Jensen swore under his breath and guided her hand back on it. “Okay, you hold it if it feels better that way, honey. Daddy, I think Arrow should go to urgent care.”
“Arrow, why don’t you go get your dolly and we’ll bring her with us. We might have to wait a minute,” he said. “Be careful okay? I’ll come get you in just a minute.”
“Mommy?” she asked, staring up at you.
“Mommy’s really tired-” said Jensen when you stood up.
“Uncle Jared is staying over though, daddy. Go get your dolly and mommy and daddy will get dressed,” you said. She sniffled but climbed down okay, Jensen sighing when she left the room. “She wants me there and I want to be there. I’m going.”
“Alright but you’re going to try and get some sleep in the waiting room at least, please.”
“No promises.”

Ok so what sbout remus/sirius being too sick to go to an away game so the other one has to go alone, and then tons of facetime conversations and "get well soon" videos from the team?
This is related to this fic about Remus and Finn bonding over terrible reporters--hope you enjoy! SW credit goes to @lumosinlove, and the Loops/ Talker bonding is for @lee-1012!
TW for illness
“You don’t look so good.” Remus frowned as he held the inside of his wrist against Sirius’ forehead. “And you definitely have a fever.”
“Non.” Sirius sat up on his elbows with a groan, then almost immediately flopped back down.
“Yes.” He leaned back on his heels and checked the clock—they had two hours before they had to be at the airport. “Baby, I don’t think you should—”
“ ‘m going.”
“It’s not a good—”
“Gotta go. Games.” Sirius cracked one glassy eye open. “Two weeks away. I’ll take the first couple days off.”
Remus sighed through his nose and brushed his sweaty hair out of his eyes. “You shouldn’t go on the plane if you’re sick. Not just for your sake, but for the rest of us. We don’t need everyone to come down with this.”
He received a halfhearted glare in response, but Sirius finally huffed and curled on his side to nuzzle against his thigh. “I’m gonna miss you.”
“I’ll miss you, too, baby,” Remus said quietly, bending to kiss his temple. They hadn’t been apart for that long since before he was a player, nearly a year prior. Hell, he had never played a game without Sirius, let alone two weeks’ worth. “Lily will check on you, okay?”
Sirius mumbled an incoherent response and cuddled closer when he began combing his fingers through his hair. The second alarm beeped, loud against the quiet of their bedroom; time to go, he thought ruefully. Sirius touched his knee as he started to stand. “Love you. Be safe.”
“Love you more.”
“Love you most.”
“Go back to sleep,” Remus said as his heart clenched. “I’ll let Coach know what happened, but you’ve got to rest and take care of yourself. Hydrate or die-drate, yeah?”
“Yeah. Love you.”
“Sleep,” he repeated, kissing his forehead once more before hauling himself out of bed and tucking the covers around Sirius’ shoulders. “I’ll be back before you know it.”
------------------------
The clouds were a soft, pastel pink around them as the sun rose—Sirius’ favorite. If his phone was correct, Lily would be there soon to let Hattie out and make sure Sirius wasn’t pushing himself too hard. The thought brought Remus a bit of relief, but not enough to quell his concern.
Talker poked his forearm, snapping him from his reverie. “What’s going on?”
“Just worrying.”
“About Cap?”
Remus waved a hand vaguely. “And Hattie, and Lily, and whether he’s got a cold or something worse. Feels weird being here without him.”
Talker hummed his agreement and offered one of his earbuds. “Want to listen to half of Bohemian Rhapsody with me? It’ll give you five minutes and 55 seconds of relative peace.”
“It’s too quiet,” James groaned just before he pressed ‘play’.
Across the aisle, Remus saw Kasey roll his eyes. “Your husband is sick, dude, not dead. He doesn’t talk to you on planes anyway.”
“It’s the principle of the thing, Bliz.”
“Oh my god,” Kasey muttered under his breath, securing his headphones tightly over his ears.
James let his head flop to the side with a baleful look. “Loops, you’re on my side, right?”
“I’ve got you, buddy,” he assured him. Talker stifled a laugh, and the opening chords began as more clouds rolled past. Remus let himself drift with them, taking deep breaths to soothe his worries; Sirius would be fine. He had the sniffles, or at worst the flu, and he would be join them for the second week in top form. There was nothing to worry about.
---------------------------------
“He’s got pneumonia,” Lily sighed.
“He what?”
“A mild case, but the doctor said it would take a week of antibiotics and rest before he’s close to a hundred percent. No hockey for about a month, too.”
Remus stared at the wall of his empty hotel room, lost for words. “Well, fuck.”
“Yeah.”
“Fuck.”
“Pretty m—absolutely not, go lay down.” There was a rustling noise and two grumbling voices. “Sorry about that.”
“Will you put me on speaker real quick?” Remus asked, pinching the bridge of his nose until he heard a faint click. “Sirius? You there?”
“Yes! I miss you, and I was just going to tell you that it’s really not that—”
“Please sit your ass down. Lily, if he tries to fuck around and find out exactly how nasty pneumonia is, you have full permission to sit on him. I miss you too, love,” he added after a short pause.
“He’s blowing you a kiss,” Lily informed him. “Oh, and he’s giving me the puppy eyes.”
“Resist if you can. Love you both. Give Hattie lots of cuddles from me.”
“We will,” she promised.
The second the call ended, Remus groaned aloud and thumped his head against the wall before padding down the hall. Just my fucking luck. The door swung open after the second knock; Arthur’s face fell. “How bad is it?”
“Mild pneumonia.”
“Fuck.”
“Yep. Doctor said he’d be out for a month.”
Arthur rubbed his eyes and nodded, motioning Remus back towards his own room. “Get some rest, then. I’ll let everyone know in the morning. Any idea how he got it?”
“Not a clue.”
“Thanks for the update, Loops. Sleep tight.”
“I will,” Remus lied as he headed back for a sleepless night between cold sheets.
----------------------------
Lily sent updates every few hours; most reported that Sirius was sleeping well and looking better with each passing day, but Remus couldn’t help but feel overwhelmingly guilty. If something happened while he was hundreds of miles away, he would never forgive himself. He had sworn in front of their closest friends and family to be there in sickness and in health—what kind of husband ditches their partner for one of a million roadies?
This one. He stabbed a piece of broccoli and shoved it in his mouth. And then he goes and makes an idiot of himself for the world to see.
The interview was supposed to be easy, but he couldn’t let it roll off anymore. Not when he couldn’t answer their questions even when he wanted to, not when he was states away from the love of his life while he was sick, not when he felt helpless and shoved aside in every current aspect of his life.
“So.” The chair next to him creaked as Talker planted his full weight in it and set his plate decisively on the table.
“What.”
“Oh, pissy Loops. Haven’t seen you in a while. Talked to Cap yet?”
“Yeah.” Another piece of broccoli fell victim to his frustration.
“How’s he sound?”
“Better.”
“Sweet.” Talker continued to munch away on his dinner. “Anyone ever told you that you have the general disposition of a wet cat when you’re upset?”
Remus tried and failed to keep down a smile. “I seem to recall you bringing it up on occasion, yes.”
His dark eyes softened and he bumped their elbows together. “He’ll be okay.”
“I know.”
“Really, Loops. Cap’s going to be just fine. Lily doesn’t sugar-coat this kind of stuff, and he’s a tough guy. Mild pneumonia doesn’t stand a chance. Besides, we’ve only got four days left and we need you to kick some ass out there.”
If Remus was a little more emotionally vulnerable, he would’ve burst into tears. Instead, he settled for leaning his temple against Talker’s with a quiet ‘thanks’ and allowed himself to be pulled into a side hug. Across the dining hall, Finn shot him a thumbs-up and a wink. “Love you, man.”
“Yeah, yeah, whatever,” Talker teased. “The internet is already coming to your aid, you know.”
“About…?”
“Not only have those asshole reporters become a new meme, you’ve also got a shit ton of people bringing up past mistreatment of athletes in the press room. You’re the face of a revolution, Loops.”
“I’ve been the face of too many revolutions for one person,” he groused, not even bothering to duck out of the way when Talker ruffled his hair.
“Well, one more won’t kill you.”
---------------------------------------
Remus’ heart raced as he stepped off the plane. The logical part of him knew that Sirius would be waiting outside the security gate, but everything else screamed to see him now, now, right now so he could be sure he was alright. At least he had sounded healthier on the phone the night before—Remus wasn’t sure what he would do otherwise.
“Deep breaths,” James reminded him as they walked toward the baggage claim. “I’m sure he’s—”
An excited shout broke through the thick crowds. Remus’ heart skipped a beat, and then he was running, racing through the people that parted for him as his vision tunneled. His carry-on hit the ground with a low thud that he hardly heard as Sirius lifted him straight off the ground and held him tight.
“I love you,” Remus said immediately, locking his ankles around Sirius’ lower back and squeezing his eyes shut. “Are you okay?”
In lieu of a response, Sirius pulled back and kissed him, cradling one side of his face in his warm, warm hand. Two weeks may as well have been an eternity. He broke away after a moment, searching his face for any signs of illness or pain. “I’m fine,” Sirius said softly, as if he could read his mind. “I promise. A little tired and sore, but there’s no lasting damage.”
“Don’t do that again,” Remus said into the side of his neck as he hugged him close. He smelled like home. “Not when I have to leave.”
Sirius’ arms were steady around his back. “I won’t.”
“I’m going to grill you on everything as soon as we get home.”
“I know.”
“But right now, I’m just going to hug you because I missed you and I worried myself into a hole, like, every night.”
He could feel Sirius’ smile against his shoulder. “I know.”

cardigan [quinn fabray]
Quinn Fabray x fem reader
Requested: Hello! I love your imagines! This is a bit of an odd request, but I was wondering if I can have Quinn Fabray imagines based on the love triangle in Taylor Swift’s Folklore album. The r is betty and you can just go from there! Thank you!
A/N: hey everyone i’m back! finals went well and i’m back, you don’t know how much i wanted to not study just so i can write this one. i was thinking about making this a 3 parter, one for each song? i think by the way this ends we may need it, lmk what you all think!
Tumblr media
You place your head in between your legs as you sit in your room in agony. It’s been a couple months yet it still hurt.
Everything was still fresh.
Finding everything out from Rachel. Confronting her. All of it. It kept replaying in my mind like a nightmare that just won’t go away.
“Honey,” your mom knocked on your door and opened it softly.
She found you in the same spot that you have been in the past two months. The only time you were in a different spot was when you were at dinner or at school.
“Sam’s here.” she whispers.
Sam comes into the room smiling at you sadly. He takes a spot next to me on the floor of my bedroom. I lied there clutching my cardigan that had too many memories attached to it.
Wordlessly, you sidled up next to him and placed your head on his shoulder. He places his own head on top of yours as you just laid together.
It became a routine: Sam or Finn would come by and just sit there with you to make sure you were okay. Sometimes neither of you would say anything and other times they did their best to try and cheer you up.
“Quinn Fabray, you are drunk right now.” you giggled as the two of you decided to walk home back to your house after the party at Rachel’s.
“And you are absolutely gorgeous.” she says whispering.
Her arm was wrapped around your waist as the two of you were walking home. She liked to have a hold on you in anyway that she can.
Around other people she didn’t like to show off too much, but alone she had a hand on you all the time. It seemed like she couldn't get enough.
“Dance with me Y/N.” she whispers.
The two of you were stopped under a streetlight. The streetlight shining onto the two of you. The Lima Ohio air was cool in the month of February. But as she wrapped the both of her arms around you, all you could feel was warmth.
Your foreheads rested on top of one another’s, lips were mere inches apart. The two of you just swayed to the sound of crickets in the neighbor’s grass. The smell of alcohol filled your nostrils, but you didn’t mind.
You just enjoyed her presence. How close she was. How warm and safe she made you feel. All of it.
Quinn’s hand drifted from around your waist to under your sweatshirt. Her cold hands sending chills throughout your body.
“Love, your hands are cold.” you whispered into her neck softly.
“I’m sorry.” she whispered back, but she didn’t move them.
As time went on her hands weren’t icy, but rather warm. And in that moment there was nowhere else you’d rather be.
“How are you doing?” Sam asks, “You looked pretty out of it during glee club today.”
“Not the best.” you whisper back.
Your short answers are something that the rest of your friends have had to get used to. You were always the bubbly talkative one, no one found you annoying, but rather adorable at your childish antics.
But when reality struck. They lost that. It was like your innocence was gone and every bad thing flooded your thoughts.
“Do you wanna watch a movie?” he asks, trying to get you to do anything that’s not lying in a puddle of sorrows.
“Sure.” you shrug.
He gets up from the spot on the floor and flips through a bunch of movies that you had lying in a cabinet under your TV. You didn’t bother looking up from whatever he was picking. You just continued to lay there staring at the piece of clothing in front of you.
“My mom used to put this movie on for me every time I was sad or sick. It became one of my comfort movies. Even to this day.” he says as the movie commercials start to play on the TV.
The Peter Pan title screen brightened the room. It caused a blue hue to fill the white walls. Your heart dropped at the sight of it.
“You know I feel bad for Peter.” she whispered softly.
Her bare body was on top of you. Your legs were tangled under the sheets of her room. The bright TV screen causing the whole room to light up.
“Why?” you whisper back as you rub your hands up and down her body.
From her shoulders, to her back, to her ass, to her thighs, and up again.
“He could have changed the story. He didn’t have to lose Wendy. If he just stayed, they could’ve grown up and had an actual family.” she says.
You hum in response, too captivated by the girl in your arms. You kiss her forehead softly and she sighs in contempt, nuzzling in closer to you. Quinn places a soft kiss to your throat.
You deepen your head into her hair, taking in her sweet scent. Before you place a kiss to the top of her head.
You know Sam was just trying to help. He didn’t know that Peter Pan was your go-to movie with her. Whenever one of had a bad day you would just play Peter Pan and hold each other tight. Hoping to drift off into your own Neverland.
“What are you going to do for your birthday?” Sam asks as Peter and Wendy fly off to Neverland.
“Nothing. I’m not into the party scene right now.” you shrug, not bothering to look at him.
“Come on Y/N! It’s your 18th birthday! You’re officially becoming an adult. You can’t just not have a party.” he exclaims, “Let me and Finn throw you one. Nothing too big, just the kids in glee.” he suggests.
You finally turn to look at him for the first time since he’s got here. He was staring at you as his trouty mouth was in a huge smile. For the first time in forever you finally cracked on of your own smiles. Everyone’s just been trying to help and this is least you can do to show them you’re grateful.
“Okay.” I nod.
“Okay?” he asks stunned by your answer.
“Okay.” I say smiling slightly.
“Yes!” he yells, immediately taking you into a hug.
The next day during glee club you took your usual seat next to Sam. As Mr. Shue waited for everyone to come in and for the bell to ring.
You always saw when she walked in, but for some reason your gaze seemed to linger. Her eyes had bags underneath him and her usually tamed blonde hair was disheveled.
You’ve heard rumors that she wasn’t doing the best either. That she hasn’t been doing well in school or sleeping much. But you didn’t know what to believe.
Her green eyes met yours and your heart skipped a beat. It’s crazy that she still has that hold on you. That even by a simple look she still manages to make your heart go boom!
“Hey everyone!” Sam announces breaking you away from her gaze.
He goes to stand up in front of everyone, “Since Y/N’s birthday is coming up. Me and Finn here have decided to throw a party for her! Only us glee kids, at her house, on Friday. Be there!”
The two of you were slow dancing as Rachel was singing Jar of Hearts. Her arms wrapped around your waist tightly as yours was wrapped around her neck.
There was a millimeter of space between the two of you. You couldn’t express how much this girl had a hold of you. How much you were falling in love with her.
“What are you thinking about?” she whispers as she notices your loving gaze on her face.
“All my life I’ve felt like I was just there. Existing for no reason. Yeah, I had friends, but I always felt like the oddball. I was just there.” her gaze softened as you continued, “I don’t know how to explain it, but I always felt like an old cardigan you got when you were younger that you never wore. But you always kept because you felt bad if you got rid of it. So you just stored it under your bed, so it just collected dust.”
“Y/N-” she begins to say, but you cut her off.
You shake you head smiling, “But you, Lucy Quinn Fabray, you engulfed me in love and care. You took me out from under the bed and put me on and said that I was your favorite. You chose me despite me being not special. So thank you.”
“You’re selling yourself short love. You’re so special and if people don’t see that then that’s okay. Because you are special to me and my heart. I love you Y/N Y/L/N.” she says softly.
You closed that millimeter of space and kissed her softly. Your lips touching igniting fireworks. Every single time.
“Are you okay?” Blaine asks snapping you away from your false fantasy.
You shook your head, “Yeah, yeah. I’m fine.”
Everything about your relationship haunts you. Even the good.
Because what if everything was different?
What if you weren’t just an old cardigan? What if you were actually something special? What if you were enough for Quinn Fabray?

Sarcasm
A/N: this is called ‘how many Stiles Stilinski quotes can I fit in one fic?’ Turns out quite a few
Tumblr media
Y/N sighed as the phone rang for the fifth time that day.
“Tom!” She yelled, hoping he would answer it so that she didn’t have to get up. “Tommy !”
“I’m busy!” He yelled back.
Y/N groaned, unfolding herself from underneath the blanket and got up for the sofa. She all but stomped over to the phone, making sure her brother was aware of how annoyed she was at having to move.
“Hello?” She said as she picked up the phone.
“Oh, thank god it’s you.”
Y/N raised her eyebrows. “Finn? What do you want?”
“I need your help,” Finn replied, panting slightly.
“Why are you out of breath?” She asked, frowning.
“Because I’ve just run a marathon,” Finn said, sarcasm dripping off every word. “I’ve just been chased down the street by some random Italians!”
Y/N turned her back to the betting shop. “What?”
“You heard me.”
She rolled her eyes. “Yes, not what I meant. Why do you need me?”
“Well, I don’t really know what to do.”
Y/N groaned. “Alright, fine. Where are you?”
“Phone box near the station.”
“I’ll be ten minutes,” she muttered, already regretting answering the phone. She put it back on the receiver and grabbed her coat. “I’m going out!”
“Don’t do anything stupid!” Arthur yelled at her as she left.
Y/N rolled her eyes. “No promises,” she muttered, shutting the door behind her.
Tumblr media
Finn hadn’t moved from the phone box.
Y/N sighed at her brother as he all but burst from inside and ran towards her. “What did you do?”
Finn hesitated, opening his mouth and closing it several times before answering. “It’ll be easier to show you.”
He grabbed her hand and began dragging her down the road. Y/N sighed but allowed her brother to keep dragging her. They walked past rows of house, turned down several suspicious looking alleyways and definitely walked in a circle several times.
“Finn, love, where are you taking me?” Y/N asked as they walked past the butchers for the sixth time.
“Here,” Finn said, pulling her in front of him and pushing Y/N into the entrance of a dead-end alley.
Y/N and stumbled to a halt and stared at the body of a rather large Italian at the end of the alley. “Finn, what did you do?”
“It was self-defence!” Finn exclaimed loudly.
“Alright, alright, shut up,” Y/N said, slowly walking forward towards the body.
“I’ve already called the police.”
Y/N turned to look at her brother, eyebrow raised. “You called the police before you called me?”
Finn frowned. “I’m supposed to call you when I find a dead body?”
“YES!” Y/N said loudly, throwing her hands up. “Bloody hell, Finn, do you have any brain cells or do I have all of them?” Y/N sighed. “Alright, if you’ve already called the police then we need to leave.”
“They didn’t seem overly concerned,” Finn replied. “Maybe we should phone them again.”
“No,” Y/N said, shaking her head.
“No, what do you mean no?”
“I mean no, you want to hear it in Spanish: Noh,” Y/N replied, staring at her brother. “I swear to god this family has two brain cells and that Polly and I are the only ones who ever have them.”
Y/N grabbed her brother’s arm and dragged him away from the alley.
“What about the body?” Finn asked, pointing at it as he was led away.
Y/N shrugged. “They’ll sort it, come on,” she said, pulling him in front of her and pushing him.
“But, shouldn’t we tell someone?” Finn asked, genuinely bewildered.
“Yes, let’s tell the entirety of Small Heath that Finn Shelby murdered an Italian with his brother’s gun.”
Finn stopped and glared at her. “The sarcasm is not appreciated, Y/N.”
“I’m 147 pounds of pale skin and fragile bone, sarcasm is my only defence,” Y/N shot back. “Not to mention I just saved your ass.”
“Where are we going?” Finn asked as Y/N pushed him into walking again.
Tumblr media
“A dead body?” John asked, staring at them, eyebrows raised.
“No, a body water,” Y/N snapped. “Yes, a dead body!”
John sighed. “Alright, what do you want me to do about it?”
“Well, it was your gun Finn murdered him with.”
“It was self-defence.”
“Still murder, Finn,” Y/N replied. “John, I just need you to move the body and burn it and no one will be any the wiser.”
John shook his head in despair. “Fucking hell, fine, where is it?”
“Why have I just had a phone call from Moss about a dead Italian near the butchers?”
Y/N winced at Tommy’s yell as he marched into the room.
“Ah, fuck,” John muttered. He stood up and walked into the betting shop flanked by Y/N and Finn.
“What Italian?” Arthur asked, frowning.
“No idea, Moss got a phone call about a dead body and found it in an alley,” Tommy replied, leaning on the back of a chair and looking at the room. “I’m only going to ask this once, did anyone here murder him?”
“Not me,” Arthur said, shaking his head.
Michael shook his head as well. “Weren’t me either, Tom.”
Tommy turned to look at John. “John?”
“I’ve been here all afternoon, Tommy,” John replied. “Finn and Y/N have been upstairs.”
“Yup, I’ve been reading,” Y/N said, following John’s train of thought.
“I’ve been sewing my cap,” Finn added, nodding.
Tommy raised an eyebrow. “Ahuh, then why did Moss say it sounded like Finn on the other end of the phone?”
Y/N sighed. “Fuck’s sake, Finn.”
“What was I meant to do!” Finn yelled.
“So, you lied to me?” Tommy asked, frowning.
Y/N shrugged. “That depends how you define lying, Tom.”
“Well, I define it as not telling the truth,” Tommy replied, walking closer to them. “How do you define it?”
Y/N paused, thinking. “Reclining your body in a… horizontal position,” she said, mimicking horizontal with her hands.
“Get the fuck out of here,” Tommy ordered.
Y/N nodded. “Absolutely.”
“What exactly were you two going to do about this problem?” Tommy asked, staring at them both.
“Well, personally, I’m a huge fan of ignoring the problem until, eventually, it goes away,” Y/N replied, standing in the doorway.
“Y/N,” Tommy said, turning to face her. “What did I say?”
“Well you told me to leave but then started talking to me so I just… sort of… hovered,” Y/N replied, swinging her arms. “Besides, it’s not like the Italian was a good person or anything, probably had Finn shooting him in the head coming.”
Michael turned to stare at his cousin. “You’re a horrible person.”
Y/N sighed, nodding. “I know, it keeps me awake at night.”
“I didn’t mean to kill him!” Finn suddenly yelled. “It was self-defence.”
“What the fuck is happening in here?” Polly asked walking in and glaring at them all.
“Finn killed an Italian, Tommy’s pissed off at us – nothing new there - and apparently I’m a horrible person,” Y/N replied.
“Not to mention you won’t answer any questions,” Michael added, twirling his pen between his fingers.
Y/N clicked her fingers and pointed at him. “That too.”
Polly sighed. “I’ve been gone three hours.”
“What happens if they find out I killed him?” Finn asked.
“Who?” Y/N turned to look at him, frowning.
“The mafia!” Finn exclaimed. “I killed one of their own, they’re going to hunt me down and kill me,” Finn muttered, spiralling. “Oh god.”
“Alright, sit down,” Arthur said, shoving Finn into a chair and handing him a glass of whiskey. “I’m not gonna let you die, alright.”
Y/ N groaned. “God, can’t you at least think about it?” She asked, looking at Arthur lovingly. “For me?”
“I refer to my earlier statement,” Michael muttered.
“Oh, cry me a river, Michael,” Y/N snapped.
“Oi!” Tommy yelled. “We’re getting off topic. Y/N, since we all know you are a fucking terrible influence on Finn, you’re coming with me to dispose of the body.”
“Oh, no, thank you, it’s rather gory, disposing,” Y/N replied, shaking her head. “I might faint.”
Tommy raised his eyebrows, staring at her incredulously. “You faint at the sight of blood?”
“No, but I might at the sight of a chopped off arm!” She exclaimed.
“Y/N, stay here and keep quiet for once,” Arthur muttered, shaking his head as John laughed.
“If I could give you a grade on how profoundly you disturb me,” Michael said, looking at Y/N, “You’d be an A+ student.”
Y/N smiled gratefully at her cousin. “Aw, thanks Michael.”
John laughed again as Polly shook her head, slightly amused. Tommy groaned, hanging his head in despair.
“Right, Arthur and I will deal with Moss,” Tommy said, rubbing his face. “Y/N, stay here and try not cause any more chaos.”
“I wasn’t even the one to shoot him, Tommy!” Y/N exclaimed. “What the fuck?!”
“Yeah, alright,” Tommy said, waving a hand at her. “Stay here and let Michael teach you something useful, ok?”
“Yeah sure, we’ll do the alphabet, shall we Michael? Start with F end with U,” Y/N snapped, glaring at her brother.
Tommy glared back at his sister. “You’ll be lucky if I don’t end up shooting you at this rate.”
Arthur stepped forward, grabbing his sister by the shoulder. “Think you can answer some questions without the usual level of sarcasm?”
“If you ask them without the usual level of stupid, Arthur.”
Polly chuckled quietly. “Y/N,” she said warningly, her eyes betraying her amusement at her niece.
“So, you’re asking me to tell you what I wouldn’t not tell you,” Y/N asked, looking at her older brothers.
Arthur blinked. “First of, I have no fucking clue what you just said.”
“Secondly,” Tommy said, cutting in, “how about you just let us help you?”
“Well, it wasn’t me who killed him.”
“Y/N.”
“Well, I don’t know how to help you help me tell you something that would help if I don’t know it,” Y/N replied.
Tommy groaned. “Are you doing this on purpose?”
Y/N smirked, crossing her arms. “Possibly.”

PTSD!Poe from that one post has moved into my head and lives there rent-free now. So here's a Gingerpilot ficlet. 😏
Poe doesn't know why he'd been such a dick to his friends. Again.
He just feels so... angry and irritable all the time. Nothing he does is ever enough. And nobody seems to care as much about their cause as he does.
Still, he shouldn't have snapped at Rey like that.
She and Finn have been steering clear of him since the incident. It's probably been one time too many... No wonder they'd rather avoid him.
Right now it's far past midnight. He's aimlessly walking around the base, tense and restless. A few times he'd grabbed a bottle of booze from the not-so-secret stash in the Falcon, just to help him sleep. But it made him feel guilty; what if there was an emergency and he wouldn't be able to fly?
So now he's pacing around in big circles in the hope of tiring himself out.
When he walks past Hux's room for the fifth time, he notices the light is still burning. Of course Hux is still awake. Poe stops and quietly stands on his tiptoes to peer inside the dirty window of the little cot they housed him in.
Hux is sitting with his back to the window, bent over a small, rickety desk. He's taken off his jacket and Poe can count the knobs of his spine through his thin undershirt.
In a split second he's made his decision and is knocking on the glass. The sound is soft but Hux still jumps, startled. He lets him in without question though, which strengthens Poe's resolve.
He's noticed the way Hux has been looking at him ever since he joined their cause. It flatters him, really. And it's something he can use. Yeah, this will definitely help him take his mind off things for a while, and hopefully even relax him enough to fall asleep.
"Hey Hugs. Care for some company this fine evening? Don't think I haven't noticed you checking me out." Hux opens his mouth, probably to argue, but Poe talks right over him: "You totally have been! And it's fine, in fact I find it very flattering. And it makes me wonder... Would you like to have your way with me? Right now, I mean? Just say the word Hugs, and I'm yours."
Not his finest work. Thankfully, Hux doesn't seem to mind his straightforward approach.
"I don't have any... supplies," is his only reply, practical as always.
Poe curses, not in the mood to sneak all the way to the medbay for some lubricant. And he doesn't want to take ages with the preparation either. He just needs to stop feeling so much for a while.
"You've got soap here, right? Yeah, you're a clean guy. Let's use that."
It works surprisingly well. It's not long before Poe is on his knees and elbows on the bed with Hux's cock up his ass.
Hux feels good inside of him, it's not exactly painful but intense enough to distract him from everything else. Hux grips his fleshy hip tightly with one hand and pushes Poe's head down to the thin mattress with the other.
The only sounds in the room are their laboured, heavy breathing and the creaking of the narrow bed. Poe absent-mindedly hopes it won't break underneath their combined weight and movement.
He's getting close now. Supporting himself on a forearm and shoulder, Poe wraps his hand around his dick and moans into the sheets. Nearly there.
Stars it feels good. Who knew Hux could fuck like this. His thrusts are constant and precise, almost machine-like. Poe never wants it to end.
It does end, of course. Soon enough he tenses up and groans, coming all over the sheets and his fist in thick spurts. He nearly topples over. Hux is thrusting more slowly and shallowly now, probably feeling him clenching around himself.
After Poe relaxes into the aftermath of his orgasm, another wave of something makes its way through his body. It constricts his chest. Before he fully understands what is happening he is heaving with loud sobs.
Hux pulls away from him completely as soon as he realises what's going on. Were Poe to look behind him he'd see a stupefied look on Hux's face, which morphs into an uneasy frown.
Curling in on himself, Poe can't do anything else but lie there, breathing heavily with tears still streaming down his nose and stubbled cheeks. He feels completely overwhelmed all of a sudden.
After a few moments, a careful hand is placed on his back. It radiates warmth and feels somewhat grounding. A thumb strokes him ever so slightly, in an attempt to soothe. When Poe's breathing calms down a bit, Hux seems encouraged to start rubbing his back in slow circles.
Eventually Poe starts to feel more in control of himself again. His body unfolds and he lies on his side, facing the rough wooden wall. He makes no attempt to get up. He doesn't want to walk out into the night and be all alone again, but he also doesn't feel like talking or otherwise engaging with Hux. Except for touch, he likes it when Hux touches him. He just wants to lie here and accept whatever kindness Hux is willing and able to give.
Hux eventually cleans them both up a bit and maneuvers them underneath the soiled sheets. Poe gratefully lets it all happen. When Hux reaches out yet again, placing a comforting hand on his waist, Poe moves himself closer, silently encouraging Hux to wrap his arm around him. Now they're pressed together tightly, securely. Suddenly Poe feels exhausted. He exhales shakily and any remaining tension leaves his body.
They end up falling asleep just like that.
When morning comes and Poe opens his eyes, Hux is already out of bed; he's seated at his tiny desk and sips a mug of something steaming hot.
"Hey. Sorry for what happened last night," is the first thing Poe blurts out in a raspy voice.
"It happens to the best of us."
"Don't tell me you've broken down like that after sex before."
"Well. I usually hide it better."
Poe cracks a smile at that and huffs out a laugh through his nose.
Suddenly he faintly hears his own name being called. Apparently people are looking for him. His heart rate immediately shoots up. Perhaps something's happened?
"I gotta go."
"Of course," Hux says, standing up and handing him his trousers.
"I'll see you around, okay?" Poe says, whilst quickly getting dressed.
After Hux gives him an affirmative nod, Poe slips out the door. He's enjoyed his time with Hux more and on a much deeper level than he thought he would. Definitely something to explore further at a later date. If he doesn't perish in a space battle before they can meet up again, that is.
They're still calling his name. When he hurries towards the area where the sound is coming from, he can see that the people shouting are Finn and Rey. They look very relieved to see him. BB-8 rolls after them and lets out a big beep when he spots his human. He quickly zooms past Finn and Rey, and Poe crouches down to hug his droid hello. The cool, round shape feels more comforting than it has felt in a while.
"Hey... We were wondering where you were," Finn says carefully as they walk up to him.
"Just out and about," is Poe's vague answer. "Had a bit of a rough time last night," he adds, feeling like he owes them at least part of the truth.
"Yeah we figured-"
"We've been talking and thinking about ways to help you," Rey interjects, bumping into Finn's side in a familiar way. She seems as determined as always.
Poe isn't sure if there's a solution for what he's going through right now, but the fact that they care and want to help does make him feel less alone.
Of course they will always be there for him. He's got the best friends in the galaxy. And his enemy-turned-ally-turned-lover is not so bad either, apparently.
Smiling at them a bit sheepishly, he counts himself lucky and thinks that perhaps it will all be okay in the end, somehow.

Mercedes
“I’m gay,” Kurt admitted to Mercedes, tears in his eyes. She was the first person he had ever told and this was the first time he had ever admitted it out loud.
“Why didn’t you just tell me?” Mercedes asked sympathetically.
“Because I’ve... never told anyone actually,” Kurt shrugged.
“You shouldn't be ashamed of who you are, Kurt,” She told him, shaking her head. “You should just tell people. Especially the kids in glee. The whole point of the club is about expressing what’s really inside you. Remember?”
“I can’t,” Kurt said, ashamed of himself. “I’m just not that confident, I guess,”
He started to walk away from her with his head held high but then he turned around to look at her again.
“But I still love you Mercedes,” He told her, the tears streaming down his face. “You’re the first friend I’ve ever made as pathetic as that sounds. I just want you to know that,”
“Of course boo,” Mercedes smiled. “I love you too, I guess just a little bit more than you love me. But I’ll get over it,”
“I’m sorry,” Kurt apologized. “I shouldn't have lied to you. I’ve just had a lot of trouble… ya know… accepting it,”
“You don’t have to explain yourself or apologize Kurt,” Mercedes assured him. “You are who you are and you like who you like and I’m not mad at you at all for that. I’m glad you felt like you could tell me. Thank you,”
“Okay,” Kurt said quietly before turning around and walking away from her.
He had known he was different for a long time now and he had discovered he was gay not long after but he knew how the LGBT+ community was viewed in his community. It wasn’t approved of and he got enough harassment for his voice and choices of clothing, he couldn’t imagine what he would have to endure if he came out to the public. He just couldn’t do it yet. He was hoping that maybe one day people would be more accepting of gay people or that he would gather enough courage to not think of what they thought but he wasn’t there yet. He wasn’t necessarily ashamed of himself but he wasn’t proud either. He felt like a coward for hiding who he really was, especially from his dad. He was just scared of how his dad would react. He loved him so much and he didn’t want to ruin their relationship in the case that he wouldn’t accept him. He would do it eventually though because he didn’t want to hide the real him from the person he loved most in the world
Finn
Both boys were sitting in the basement on the couch watching a movie together. Finn had his arm wrapped around Kurt’s shoulder and they were snuggled close together. Finn’s behavior seemed a little weird to Kurt seeing that Finn usually avoided physical contact with him but he just brushed it off thinking that Finn was just trying to make up for the “faggy lamp incident”. Besides Kurt didn’t exactly hate the hug, it felt nice.
The credits started rolling on the movie and Finn turned to face Kurt.
“That was nice,” Finn said with a goofy smile on his face.
“Yeah it was,” Kurt smiled back. “Do you want to watch another one?”
“Sure,” Finn said, his expression changing to a pained look. “Wait though. Before we do I want to talk to you,”
“Okay. What is it?” Kurt asked. “I hope it’s nothing bad,”
“No no, nothing bad,” Finn said, getting nervous. At least I hope you don’t think it’s bad,”
“Well just tell me Finn,” Kurt encouraged him. “Chances are I won’t judge you,”
“Okay, here goes nothing,” Finn said. “I’m just going to come out and say this but… I think I’m gay,”
“Oh,” Kurt said, his eyes widening. “That’s great Finn. I’m glad you told me. So who’s the lucky guy?”
“Um… you?” Finn said, looking down at his hands.
 “Me?” Kurt breathed.
“Yeah, I don’t know, it’s just I feel like I love anyone. Like I liked Quinn before the baygate thing because she was pretty and I like Rachel because she’s nice to me and because she’s pretty and then I like you because you’re really nice and you don’t think I’m stupid and you’re pretty cute but then I like Puck because he’s my bro and he has nice muscles and abs and… I don’t know… it’s frustrating,” Finn sighed, turning red.
“It sounds like you’re bisexual,” Kurt told him. “It means you're attracted to both genders,”
“Oh, so I’m not crazy,” Finn said to himself, making Kurt laugh. “I also like it when you laugh. I like it when you’re happy and I’m sorry about you’re lamp,”
“Finn, you don’t have to apologize to me again. I know you’re sorry,” Kurt assured him, still blushing from Finn’s comment.
“But I do,” Finn groaned, frustrated with himself. “I was a real douche and it wasn’t fair to you and I was just angry because I couldn’t accept myself like you can,”
“Well you’re accepting yourself now,” Kurt told him. “By telling me,”
“I guess so,” Finn shrugged. “But what do you think? About… me,”
“Oh,” Kurt said, his face turning from pink to white. “Finn you know I love you but I think it’s just… as a friend or as a brother,”
“Oh,” Finn said, tears coming to his eyes. “That’s fine,”
“Finn it’s not you trust me,” Kurt said, placing his hand on Finn’s arm. “Any guy or girl would be lucky to have you, including me. It’s just that I’m not that lucky guy. You’ll find someone better,”
“Nah I don’t think I will,” Finn said, quickly wiping his tears. “I mean I ruined things with Quinn and then with Rachel and I’m pretty sure Puck’s straight so you were kind of my last hope, not to make you feel bad. I think I should… I should just go,”
“Finn please don’t do this,” Kurt begged him as Finn stood up. “Let’s just talk about this, I don’t want you to be mad at me,”
“No I’m not mad Kurt,” Finn told him. “I just need some time to myself. But I’m sorry that I told you all of this. And I’m sorry you don’t love me back,”
“Finn you don’t have to apologize, you have nothing to be sorry for,” Kurt said, wiping the tears that were now on his face too. “And I do love you, you’re my friend,”
“You know what I mean Kurt,” Finn said with a sad smile. “But it’s fine really, don’t worry about it. And thanks for clearing the bi thing up for me, it means a lot to me,”
“Your welcome,” Kurt whispered as Finn went up the stairs. He had just ruined a friendship that he really cherished but he would’ve ruined it even more if he told Finn that he loved him when he really didn’t. Sure there was the little crush that he had had on him a couple of months ago but it had faded and now he saw Finn as nothing more than a friend. He just didn’t know what love really felt like, what the difference between romantic love and platonic love really was. Yes he loved his dad and Carol and Mercdes and the rest of the glee club but as friends and family, not as partners. Love was complicated, it was messy and Kurt was still trying to come to terms with being gay and accepting himself, he wasn’t ready for a relationship yet.
Puck
The New Directions were over at the Hudmel house for a get together and Kurt was in the kitchen, gathering snacks for everyone when Puck walked with that smirk that he always wore on his face.
“Hey babe,” He said, looking down at Kurt's ass. “You need any help?”
“I’m good Noah,” Kurt said, annoyed. Was Puck so desperate now that he was flirting with boys? “And since when am I babe?”
“Since this,” Puck said before walking up to Kurt, taking him by surprise and kissing him hard on the lips. Kurt didn’t know what to do since Puck had a strong grip on him so he just stayed leaned back with Puck’s lips on his until Noah came back up for some air.
“So what did you think?” Puck asked, raising an eyebrow. “Did I blow you’re gay little mind?”
“Um… no?” Kurt said in a questioning tone. “I just… are you gay?”
“Yeah something like that,” Puck said, waving his hand in the air. “I think I like anything but I forget what it’s called,”
“You mean your pan, pansexual?” Kurt asked. “You don’t care about gender or gender identity. It actually makes a lot of sense,”
“Well anyway,” Puck interrupted, frowning. “Do you love me?”
“Noah, I'm not doing this right now,” Kurt said, shaking his head. It was Finn and Mercedes all over again. “We’re friends and that’s probably all we’ll ever be. I guess I could say I love you but as a friend, not as a lover. I’m not ready for a relationship yet,”
“But you had a crush on Finn?” Puck pointed out. “What gives?”
“Like you said, it was a crush that went away. And unlike you Finn was nice to me but I doubt I ever had romantic feelings for him in any way. I’ve already had this conversation with him,” Kurt explained.
“Wait so Finn’s gay too?” Puck asked. “I might have to tap that,”
“Actually you should, he likes you.” Kurt said. “Something about your muscles and abs,”
“But what do you think about my muscles and abs babe?” Puck asked with a mischievous smile. “Isn’t it hot?”
“Sure,” Kurt said sarcastically. “But like I said Noah, I’m flattered, I really am but the answer is no,”
“Fine then,” Puck huffed. “But trust me, I’m not going to give up so easily. One day you’ll be begging for me to take you and I’ll make you suffer and wait,”
“God do you always have to be so cheesy?” Kurt asked. “It makes me sick,”
“You know you love it Princess,” Puck yelled back at him as he walked back into the living room with everyone else.
“Yeah right,” Kurt said under his breath as he gathered up all the trays of food and brought them out to the living room. This was the third time now and if he hadn’t loved Finn in that way then he definitely didn’t love Puck in that. He sighed as he placed everything out on the table before rubbing his face with his hands in exhaustion.
“Are you okay Kurt?” Quinn asked him.
“I’m fine,” Kurt said, smiling at the group. Then he saw Puck’s smirk again and decided that he needed some space. “I just… forgot something upstairs in my room. I’ll be back,”
He left the room and walked upstairs before walking into his room and closing the door behind him, sinking down against the door. It shouldn’t bother him so much but it did. There were three people now that had “loved” and he didn’t love them back. It just made him wonder if he was ever going to find true love at all and if he was ever even going to know what love felt like.
Sam
“I love you,” Sam admitted and Kurt internally groaned. Not again.
“Sam,” Kurt started to say but Sam interrupted him, taking Kurt’s hands in his.
“Shh, don’t say anything and just let me explain,” Sam said but this time Kurt interpreted him.
“Sam, you’re my friend, god I say that a lot,” He added sarcastically. “But I’m not ready for a relationship right now. I love you platonically and that’s that. Please don’t make me feel even worse than I already do by trying to persuade me into going out with you. I’ve been through this plenty of times before,”
Sam looked down, ashamed and disappointed and now Kurt wished that he would say something instead of just looking defeated.
“Hey don’t be upset Sam please,” Kurt begged him. “It’s not you, you’re perfect and I’m really flattered but I’m still figuring things out for myself and it wouldn’t be fair to you to be with me when I not sure of anything,”
“No I get it,” Sam said, looking up at Kurt with tears in his eyes. God, why did they always have to cry?” “Really I do it’s just that you’re so nice and cute and I had the stupid idea that maybe you’d like me too but it’s stupid really. And I guess I’m not really sure about anything either. I don’t know what I am, if I’m bi or if I just like boys. It’s hard,”
“I know it is,” Kurt assured him, rubbing Sam’s back. “Trust me, I knew I was gay since I was six years old and I’m still trying to fully accept myself. But you aren’t alone Sam. I’m here if you ever want to talk and Finn and Puck seem like they have whatever’s going on with them figured out so you can talk to them too. We’re all here for you,”
“I know,” Sam said, smiling at Kurt and wiping his tears. “Thanks,”
“You’ll find someone,” Kurt told him, giving Sam a hug. “But just remember you come first,”
“Yeah, I will,” Sam told him, returning the hug.
Kurt told himself that what he told Sam also applied to him. He was going to figure out what love really felt like and he was going to find someone that loved him and someone who loved him back. He had to, he wanted to know the feeling. Now just wasn’t the right time and once again, he had to put himself first.
Blaine
“I love you,” Blaine said dreamily, staring at Kurt with his handsome eyes and making Kurt choke on his coffee a little. Why does this always happen to me?
Blaine still had his eyes on Kurt and was waiting for Kurt to respond with an “I love you too,” so Kurt was relieved when Mercedes and Sam walked in with one another making Blaine turn around.
“Oh hey, what are you guys doing here?” Blaine asked, having moved on from the previous discussion.
“I’m just getting a coffee,” Sam said, swaying back and forth on his feet.
“Yeah we ran into each other in the parking lot,” Mercedes added. ‘Hmm, sure you did,’ Kurt thought to himself he had noticed how smiley they were acting towards each other lately. They were in love and Kurt was happy for them, especially since they had both had a crush on him and now they had each other. At least Sam now knew that he was bi and they both had their love lives together. It was more than he could say for himself.
Blaine started talking about his summer plans with them while Kurt tried to figure out what he was going to say about Blaine’s “I love you,” when Mercedes and Sam walked away and Blaine turned his focus back onto Kurt.
 “Hey cutie,” He smiled again.
“Umm. hi,” Kurt said nervously. “I’m really sorry Blaine but I just remembered that I promised my dad that I would help him… at the garage so we’re going to have to cut this coffee date short,”
“Oh yeah,” Blaine said, wearing a smile even though Kurt could tell he was disappointed. “That’s okay. A promise is a promise,”
“Yeah,” Kurt said, standing up and grabbing his cup and bag. “See you later,”
He then rushed out of the coffee shop and with his luck of course it was raining outside. He started crying. He liked Blaine, that’s why they were dating and he had spent so long pining after him and now he was going to ruin the good thing going on between them because he couldn’t say three simple words. I love you. Of course he could say them but he just didn’t want to lie. He didn’t want to say those words and then have it turn out that he didn’t love Blaine and ruin their friendship. He loved Blaine but… once again, maybe it was just platonic. And maybe he just wasn’t meant to love anyone.
Elliot
“I love you,” Kurt found himself saying to Elliot once they reached his apartment. They had been really good friends for a while now and Elliot had just taken him out on their first date to a nice restaurant.
“Like as a friend or as more?” Elliot asked, obviously joking with a smile on his face. Elliot knew how Kurt had felt about love and partners in the past and had been patient with him even though he loved Kurt romantically.
“I think… as more,” Kurt confessed. “I’m really nervous and have a weird feeling in my stomach, not like I’m sick or anything but...I think I love you Elliot. I’ve never felt this way about anyone before and for once...I think I honestly know exactly how I feel about someone,”
They paused for a moment, Kurt with tears of joy in his eyes before Elliot leant in and kissed Kurt. And Kurt had only been kissed twice before, once by Puck and once by Blaine but when he kissed Elliot he felt a spark of energy between them and he knew he loved him, the feeling was confirmed.
When they pulled away from each other, they held each other’s hands and Kurt had never been happier in his life before. He had spent a huge part of his life worrying that he would never find someone who felt the same way as he did, who he loved and here he was, he had finally found Elliot. It all felt amazing.

ignoring the fact that they sound like a married couple arguing, mike and will are also bickering over whether or not el and mike are still together. it was written in the script, rehearsed, performed, and kept in the final cut that will OUTRIGHT SAYS “she said she dumped your ass, that doesn’t sound like a break.” and max yells “it wasn’t!” :@;$:@/&$:&:??!?! they literally said they’re not endgame. they aren’t endgame.
i KNOW right! Based on the s4 movies I think things are reversed and it’s El who can’t accept they are broken up. A lot of films said to inspire s4 have ex gfs refuse to accept the break up -one even hits on her gay ex-bf ( ‘birdcage’ ). Similar scenario in ‘clueless’ with girl hinting on gay guy who just wants to be friends.  Max in s3 having to correct El that Mike is her “ ex boyfriend” and Will saying “that doesn’t sound like a break”. And Max agreeing “it wasn’t!” is foreshadowing they never actually got back together.  IT WASN’T A BREAK! But El may not accept this.
It’s similar, to the random telemarketing joke where they had Mike say on the phone “El, sorry not interested “ and hang up . It was foreshadowing.
Tumblr media
In the films the exes constantly call . Mike telling El “i’ll call so often you’ll have to turn your walkie off” was also foreshadowing of what Mike will do to her in s4. Since ,he hung up on her in s3 when she called demanding to know where he was at 9:30 in the morning.  In  ‘swingers’ the guy name mike (whose friends call him ‘gay’)  hangs up on his ex gf who wants to get back together . He hangs up on her so he can talk to his new love interest (Will) . Specifically, Hangs up on his ex as she says  “I love-“. Then in ‘splash’ he breaks up with his gf on the phone and says “do I love you?well what about you?” To dodge the question (then yells at a family member ease dropping on the other line -Karen). And they break up on the phone. And he tells a friend later he never loved her.
2 movies the ex says they’ll get back together and their new relationships are “just phases” etc ( waynes world,  high fidelity, dumb and dumber). Saying they’re still together when they aren’t  (wayne’s world). Loads of movies had the crazy ex sabotage new relationships, call constantly, stalk, and flirt despite the exes discomfort and repeatedly saying it’s over (despite the ex not loving them and just be possessive and not wanting them with other people).
The exes are cray in the films (el stalking and never apologizing for spying. And mileven dancing to the song ‘every breath you take’ a song about a stalker ex who doesn’t take no for an answer -after their ex hooks up with their friend, wasn’t a coincidence). Along with El watching ‘days of our lives’ where she mimicked erica who was in a relationship with Mike roy. And it ended messy with one of them sabotaging their new relationship, stalking them, and claiming the stalking victim still loved them. (Although, they eventually accepted that wasn’t true).
El  stalked Mike in s2 (all that stuff milevens found romantic- El watching him without him knowing. Mike said he was not ok with it in s3). And in s3 (like the song) she stalks him after their breakup, and when he said not to do that she just says ‘i make my own rules’. I think s4 shows just how ‘un-cute’ this behavior can get.
Tumblr media
I’ve already talked about that awkward kiss scene to death. But i think it indicates Mike assumes they’re broken up and el assumes they’re back together.
FIrst he  LIED AGAIN (the cause of the breakup)- and pretended he didn’t confess to her at the end of s3. And never said “ I love you’ back! He even tries to take the words back and  says about the prior love confession “ “Oh! Oh, yeah that.Man, that was so long ago. Um…”  and starts to scratch his head and says everything he said at the cabin was “in the heat of the moment stuff and we were arguing…”
They even frame the scene right before the kiss strangely, making El look larger and imposing, as she approaches. Mike feels cornered (you the viewer subconsciously are supposed to feel claustraphobic/trapped/cornered/stuck along with Mike).
Tumblr media
We see him furrow his brows (uncomfortable and confused ) when El initiates the romantic moment, saying “I love you too.”
Tumblr media
And cue most awkward kiss in history- where he keeps his eyes open the whole time and doesn’t kiss back. (In Will’s room, mike in front of an open closet, as el holds Will’s s1 bear.)
Tumblr media
During the kiss, the song ‘the first i love you ‘played. The only other time they played that song in s3,  was when Robin rejects Steve’s  romantic confession and she comes out as gay . Interesting choice for that awkward mileven kiss/confession shown later where El says she loves Mike (and mike keeps his eyes open, doesn’t kiss back or return the ‘I love you’). It’s foreshadowing of Mike rejecting El (in the future) cause he’s gay.
We even see El’s reaction first (happy, smiling and giddy). Assuming they’re back together. But then we blur the screen to see Mike’s opposing expression. He looks confused, bewildered and even furrows his brows again.
Tumblr media
Then we see El initiating all the romantic stuff outside.El seems to be the one trying to make it romantic- like Mike hugging el and lucas with one arm identically (hand on their upper back), but El caresses his chest.
Tumblr media
And as Mike stops the hug El shoves his head into hers (it actually looked like it hurt honestly XD)
Tumblr media
the byler centric ending with the Hopper monologue reinforces this theme. Mike while looking at both cars driving away was thinking of Will . They show this by having Mike be sad as Will drives away (alone) twice as Mike  sadly watches him leave- this was done to show that he’s actually upset the 2 later times where Will and El leave at the same time -because of Will. I showed it in one of my vids here, at 23:11
When we first see Mike during the Hopper monologue , it continues to pan to only Mike and Will (not El) cause what he says is mostly about them. “I’ve been feeling distant from you. Like you’re pulling away from me or something” (Will does this both figuratively/literally). I miss playing board games every night (d &d)”. Then Mike looks back at the Byers house (he just lingers there and looks back as his friends leave without him) like how Will turned to watch Mike leave and hold hands with El  (as the crew  go up the hill without Will).  “But I know you’re getting older, growing, changing. And I guess, if I’m being really honest, that’s what scares me. I don’t want things to change.”
Tumblr media
It pans to both of them on  “i don’t want things to change’ cause that’s how they both feel. Mike , ‘doesn’t want things things to change’. He doesn’t want their friendship to change as they ‘get older’ because he’d have to and acknowledge his feelings for Will are romantic and if he’s “being honest” that “scares” him (especially in rural 80s conservative-Indiana at the height of the aids epidemic).  Why we see Mike trying to act like a adult while dating El, and Will trying to act like a kid- they’re both trying to escape  growing up to be gay in different ways. Will reverting to childhood activities and saying he’ll ‘never fall in love’ (after his double date with lumax). And Mike trying to act like “old people’ saying “we’re not kids anymore... what did you expect that we’d never get girlfriends?” Cause he equates straight romance with being an adult and his feelings for Will as something he has to grow out of . Which he learns in the very end isn’t possible.
Right after that scene it switches from Will crying,  to Mike entering his house. His face is visibly red from crying and he looks shocked (almost as if he realized something) before he hugs his mom- to mirror the time he thought Will died in s1.
Tumblr media
And the dialogue in this scene says “So I think maybe that’s why I came in here, to try and maybe stop that change. To turn back the clock. To make things go back to how they were.” He goes back to his mother for comfort, like he did the 1st time he lost Will. But also to reverse back time, to s1, before he realized his feelings for Will are romantic.  When things were simple. I think the last episode is when Mike truly realizes he’s been in love with Will this entire time and he can’t fix it and transfer his feelings for Will on to el (something he’s been trying to do all of s3). El said he loved him and he felt nothing-and he was heartbroken over Will leaving (not El). Which is why he just seems almost shocked/numb as he’s processing this fact. This whole scene only showed Mike and Will transitions- el was never there, cause Mike wasn’t upset over her.
In the last ep (in s3) Mike mirrors the scene in s1, hugging his mom, since he feels like he’s losing Will all over again. In s1 the romantic/queer coded lyric from the song ‘We can be heroes’ plays as he hugs his mom “And we kiss as though nothing could fall. And the shame.”. And during the s3 move  (‘we can be heroes’) plays again!  And David Bowie wrote this song and Jonathan even said to Will  in his ‘being a freak is the best speech’ “who would you rather be friends with David bowie (a queer singer) or Kenny Roggers?”
It’s why finn wolfhard after s3 liked this byler pic. cause s3 was all about Will and Mike denying their feelings for each other.
Tumblr media
Not to mention,After s1 Finn quoted the  Duffers saying Mike thought of El as a “puppy’ (dart) or “et” , and then said  Mileven was a  “first summer love thing”- foreshadowing mileven’s downfall during the Summer (aka s3). He repeats this “first summer love” phrase 2x.  Millie when he mentioned what the duffers said rightfully thought the puppy thing was “awful”, but Finn was clearly told mileven doesn’t last -very early on- and most likely the Duffers told him “it’s like a first summer love thing”.Summer love” by definition fails-as it only lasts during the summer.

My Pilot boyfriend~ Poe Dameron imagine
Tumblr media
Poe Dameron x Skywalker!reader
Requested by @rachelcarroll1819 19 “Hi can you do a imagine where the reader is the daughter of Luke skywalker and she's in a relationship with poe (her bff are poe and rey of course ans she does have the force) please and thank you”
Warning- slight angst, swearing, FLUFF.
———-
It felt refreshing being back in a place you knew, somewhere green, with real air and real trees, not in a place where it was infested by the planet's own pollution or run over by the galaxy's most artificial, spiteful, irritating and trashy people.
It just felt good being home. Or temporal home.
“Hey, skywalker!” Finn greeted.
You grinned and wrapped him in a tight embrace. “Hey, traitor. Long time no see.”
“I could say the same.” Finn pulled away with a smirk. “Where have you been?”
You shrugged nonchalantly, your eyes looking for the only person that was strangely missing from the scene. “Oh you know Jedi business.”
Finn chuckled, “sounds like avoiding the war to me.”
“Pssh,” You shook your head but contained your grin, “I’m sorry I’m not the war hero my father was.”
“Don’t we all wish you were.” He joked.
You place your hands on your hips and shrug, your eyes wandering the area for your favorite pilot. “Where’s Poe?”
Finn frowned, “somewhere down there.”
“Oh.” Your gaze immediately lands on Finn and your face falls at his statement. Did he really not want to come greet you? He always did, regardless of what he was doing at that moment. “I-I thought he would be here. He always is.”
Finn's shoulders dropped and a smile crept onto his lips, “I’m joking, again. You know you’ve got that man hooked.” Finn wrapped his arm around your shoulders and guided you out of your hanger, “he’s off base, last minute mission. He should return soon.”
You playfully push him away and laugh, “you’re an ass.”
——
“What happened there?” Rey points to the new metal hand that replaced the flesh, one that was now nothing but a memory.
“Oh, this.” You lift your metal hand and wave your fingers, examining it like if it were the first time you’ve truly seen it. “Someone lowlife scum caught me by surprise and jumped me.”
Finn quirks his eyebrow and parts his lips to add some snarky remark.
“Don’t.” You cut him off, “Poe is going to give me shit about it later, I’d rather only be scolded once. Thank you very much.”
Finn raises his hands, feigning innocence, a smirk playing on his lips.
“Well I think it suits you.” Rey smiles.
“You’ll be the only one to ever think that.” You glance at the time on the wall and sigh, it’s been eight hours since you’ve arrived and eight hours since Poe’s still been gone. It was past midnight with no communication, or the smallest sign that he's alright. It was beginning to worry you.
Actually lies.
It worried you the first hour after you had gotten back to base. Of course you had the force to assure you that he was still actually alive but that was all, it didn’t give you the slightest hint if he was in a cell or in trouble. For all you know he could be injured.
Let’s hope not though.
“Rey, can you try again, please.”
Rey looks away from her Jedi texts and glances at the communications screen beside her, no hesitation to do what you’ve all been trying for hours. “Black Leader, come in Black Leader, its ground base trying to get a status on your whereabouts.” Rey lets go of the button on the side of the headset and waits for another dreadful, anxious minute. Her eyes shifting to see you lean in closer to the screen, your bottom lip in between your teeth, until….
Nothing.
Again.
A sigh leaves your lips and you fall back on your chair, your face and shoulders dropping at the disappointing result, yet again.
Finn finally having enough of you moping stands up from his chair and pulls you up from your own.
“Hey! What are you doing?”
“We’re going to build a nice fire, get a few drinks in us and wait for Poe with high hopes.” Finn explained as he pulled Rey up from her chair too.
You groan, “what if Poe finally reports in, huh? What if he’s injured and I’m getting drunk? I have to wait.”
Finn shakes his head, “Poe is the best pilot I know. He’s the best pilot in the galaxy, he’s fine.”
Rey scoffs, “yet he still crashes.”
“Don’t let him hear that.” You interject with a quick smile.
“Come on, no more long faces.”
Again you deny his attempts, “sorry I’ll wait.”
Finn sighs and drops your hand, letting a minute of silence pass before he adds something, “fine, don’t come, but I don’t want you waiting here, go to your room. Take a nap, take a nice warm shower or just simply relax.”
“Finn.”
He lifts his finger to stop you, “I’m not done. You haven’t relaxed since you’ve gotten here, go. If I hear anything, you’ll be the first person I tell.”
Your eyebrows furrow and you stare at him with a narrowed look, completely unsure of his suggestion and getting ready to decline and just fall back into your chair before he began to push you towards the hall that led to your quarters.
“Hey!”
“Nope, I’m not taking a no, for an answer.”
You look back to Rey for help, but all she does is shrug.
Wow.
So much for an apprentice.
Once Finn and you reach the front of your door, he presses the button and the door slides open, not a second passing by before he literally almost throws you inside.
“I’ll come get you later, okay?”
Before you can give your response, he lets the door close and he just leaves, the sound of his footsteps retreating, getting quieter and quieter until you know he’s out of the hall.
Wow these rooms are literally paper thin. Why have you now realized that?
Sorry to the people next door.
Shrugging that aside for the time being, you switch on the lights, your nose instantly getting welcomed by the familiar natural scent of Poe; nothing but the sweet smell of woods, slight hint of x-wing fuel and the strong yet perfect scented cologne he loved to wear.
All of it just making you miss him that much more.
The picture of him and you placed on the end table is definitely no solace to your feelings.
The deeper you get into your room, the more you have the urge to just sit in bed and wait for him. But you also knew Finn was right to at least try and relax. That and well a nice shower would pass by time.
——
It didn’t work.
Time was a taunting bitch when it was needed to pass by quickly.
You hoped that in the middle of your super long shower, Poe would go in and join, but here you were, hair wet, dry body and with his baggy shirt on, just waiting with no such luck. That only made your stomach churn more. Was he really okay?
What if he got taken hostage?
Or got badly injured?
No. You needed to go look for—
Everything suddenly went dark, your whole body jumping at the feeling of someone’s chest pressed on your back and hands covering your eyes. “Guess, who?”
You grab onto your chest and let out a relieved deep breath. Not only because you knew who it was the moment he spoke, but because it wasn’t some drunk fighter that had stumbled into your room by accident.
Because that has happened. Once. It was terrifying.
“Oh, I don’t know.” You play along, taking in a long sniff, “smells like sweat and ship fuel, maybe my pilot boyfriend from Naboo?” You smirk and feel his hands leave your eyes, a scoff leaving his lips after your joke.
“You’re funny.”
You spin around and see the familiar, big browned eyed, perfectly tan faced, cleaned shaved, cocky man you had been waiting for all kriffing day. A twisted look on his features and a new cut on his cheek—That was not going to be left unspoken—For now though, for now all you did was grin and throw your arms around him.
“Oh, you’re happy to see me? I thought you were happy to see your Naboo boyfriend.” He remarked.
You pull your head away from his shoulder and shoot him a narrowed look, “it was a joke.” The smile returns regardless and you press a sweet short kiss on his lips, “I only love you.”
Poe stays quiet for a moment before his own relief to your well being breaks through and he pulls you in for a tight hug, his hands balling the material of your shirt as he rests his head in the crook of your neck, a gentle kiss later felt on your shoulder.
“I’ve been waiting to see you all day.” He muttered into your skin.
You smile and run your fingers through his dark curls, “I was worried. I almost went out to look for you myself.”
The gesture of Poe’s smile was felt widening on your skin, the feeling of his lips pressed on your skin sending shivers down your spine.
When he pulled away, that’s all you saw: a smile and a softened look, his eyes studying your face to check for any wounds and simply just taking in every soft feature like if it were the first time he’s seen you. He caressed your cheek and pulled you in for a long awaited kiss, one that was deep and passionate, his excitement felt in more ways than one.
And the only reason why he pulled away was so he let you leave a trail of kisses from the corner of his lips to the sweet spot on his neck.
“I thought you said I smelt like sweat.” He reminded you.
You smirked, “You do, but for you I make exceptions.”
Poe pressed you tighter to him, his hand reaching for yours to press a kiss on it, but stopping once he noticed what was wrong.
“What’s this little number?”
You pull away and watch as he examines your metal hand. “Someone was fighting dirty. Got a jump on me and cut my hand thinking that I couldn’t wield my saber with both. Her mistake.”
Poe frowned, his eyes filled with worry, “baby, you need to be more careful. You—”
“Poe,” you interrupt, “I’m okay. Okay? We can talk about it after I've had at least twenty four hours with you.” You smile and carefully wipe the curls that had been stuck to his forehead because of the sweat gleaming on his skin. “Long day?”
He rests your forehead on yours and sighs, “yeah. You don’t mind if we just sleep tonight, do you?”
“Only if I get to cuddle with you.”
He chuckles and presses a kiss on your nose, “You got it.”
The sudden knock on your door pulls you both away, both of you sharing a look until you rush to the door to see Finn, a huge grin on his face and drinks in his hands. “Fires started and drinks are here. Let’s go.”
You look over your shoulder to see Poe with an exhausted look clearly decorating his features, looking like he was going to pass out any second now.
“Uhh, next time.” You smile.
“What? Come on.”
You shake your head and show him a smug smile, “You wanted me in my room, I’m staying. Next time, promise.” Before he can come up with another excuse, you slowly close the door and leave him out there, turning back to Poe with a sweet smile.
“You can go if you want.” He adds. “I’ll stay and get some sleep before we have to get up again.”
“Nah,” you shrug, “I’d rather sleep in with my ONLY pilot boyfriend.”
Poe grins, “cute.”

For the video fic you just posted with Remus and Greyback could you consider making one with the rest of them team and his family?? Like when he sees them after they watch the video?
If not its totally fine no pressure!! Love you!!
I absolutely can! In this house we love and appreciate the Lions and their collective parents, Hope and Lyall Lupin. Dumo and Hope get together on the weekends for a Zoom call where they make margaritas. Sweater Weather credit goes to @lumosinlove!
This is a continuation of Silver Screen
The locker room was dead quiet when Remus, Sirius, and James walked in. Leo’s eyes were red and tears tracked down his cheeks; a storm of emotions played out across Dumo’s face as he stood and walked over, resting his hands on his shoulders as he looked deep into his eyes. “Are you okay, mon fils?”
Something stuttered in Remus’ chest at the nickname. “I’ll be alright. Alice is talking to the organization right now with coach. How about you guys?”
Talker laughed from his stall, wiping the tears from his face at the same time. “Leave it to Loops to be worried about us right now.”
“When you told us while we were watching All-Stars—” Kasey bit his lip and shook his head. “Cap, did Greyback tell you then?”
“In a way.” Sirius’ arm was a steady weight over his shoulders. “No details, but I got the general idea. I wanted to tell someone, but…”
“Nobody would have believed you,” Remus said. “There wasn’t any proof at the time.”
“Now there is,” Leo said hoarsely. “Re, the things he said—you know that’s not true, right? You know that we all love you so much?”
Remus smiled slightly. “Yeah. Kinda sick and tired of having my business plastered over the news, though.”
Dumo snorted, but it was a rueful sound. “It’s a pity we’re not facing Vegas soon. I’d like to get my hands on that asshole again.”
Murmurs of agreement filled the locker room; a sudden thought struck Remus. “Harzy, Tremz, Knut, could I talk to you real quick? Just—just for a second.”
The three shared a look and stood, following him into the hall. Remus kept his hand twined with Sirius’ as the door closed behind them. “What’s up, Loops?”
“Greyback didn’t know. He didn’t know I’m gay.” Remus looked at each of them individually. “He banked on me having some kind of secret, but there was no way he could have known and I need you to understand that it had nothing to do with that, okay?”
“Okay.” Finn frowned slightly.
They don’t get it. Remus took a shaky breath and felt Sirius squeeze his hand gently. Of course he knows what I’m thinking. “Greyback threatened to tell my secret and I thought he meant he would out me. You’re in the same position I was, and I want you to know that I will personally square up against anyone who threatens you like that. What he did was horrific, but I know how the threats could be scarier than the injury.”
Shock painted three faces. “How did you—” Leo opened and closed his mouth a couple times before stepping forward and practically falling into Remus’ arms. “You always fucking know what to say.”
“I guess it’s my turn to cry,” Finn sniffled as he joined the hug and pulled Logan along. The five of them stayed there for a moment, a strange mix of still-sweaty and shower fresh as they swayed in place.
“You deserve to be proud,” Remus murmured. “I don’t want this to scare you more.”
“The scary part was hearing you and knowing we couldn’t help,” Logan said, his voice muffled in Remus’ shoulder. “Merde, Loops, I wish we could have been there.”
“You’re here now, and that’s what matters.”
As he said it, Remus realized he was starting to believe it as well. For years Greyback’s threat had haunted him; he questioned what his life would have been like if he had just left even two minutes earlier nearly every night. But now, he knew the truth: if he had been the number-one draft pick, if he had been chosen for the NHL and gone on to what he originally planned, he would never have met Sirius. He would never have known Finn, Logan, Leo, Talker, or any of his best friends.
Remus hated Fenrir Greyback with every fiber of his body, but now he had solid proof that Fenrir was wrong. He had worked his ass off to heal and be even better than he was before—he had poured every bit of himself into being the most fan-fucking-tastic PT the Lions had ever known, and that dedication reaped endless benefits. He could move on.
“Let’s head back inside, okay? There’s a lot more to get done.”
---------------------------
The car pulled up outside and Remus’ stomach dropped to his feet. “I can’t do this,” he muttered, closing the curtains quickly. Sirius hands caught him gently around the waist as he tried to leave the room. “Sirius, I can’t.”
“You can.”
“I lied to them for years.”
“You were blackmailed, Re.”
“I’m their son and I lied about something super fucking important.”
“And they’ll love you just the same.” Sirius half-smiled at him when he turned around. “Hey. They’re your parents. You know they love you and you know this wasn’t your fault. They’ve been worried.”
Remus flexed his hands anxiously and quickly kissed Sirius on the lips. “Okay. Okay. God, you’re good at pep talks.”
“I’m the captain, it’s my job.”
His answering laugh was strained to say the least, but it was there. Rapid footsteps tapped along the stairs; someone knocked hurriedly. Remus froze in place as Sirius headed toward the door.
“Where is he?” Her voice was desperate. “Is he okay?”
“Hey, mom,” Remus said weakly. In a flurry of motion, she crossed the entryway and crashed into his arms, already crying. His father followed half a second later, wrapping them both up tight as he kissed the top of Remus’ head.
“Remus, I’m so sorry,” his mother sobbed, pulling back to cradle his face in her hands. “I’m so sorry.”
“It’s not your fault.” The pressure of tears built behind Remus’ eyes and he blinked them back. “I’m sorry I lied to you.”
“Re.” His father’s voice broke and he pulled him close until Remus felt like he was six years old again, safe and protected. “You have nothing to be sorry for. Why didn’t you feel like you could tell us?”
“I thought he knew about me.” Remus closed his eyes and buried his face in his flannel shirt.
“Remus.” He looked up and found her sad eyes. “Sweetheart, did you think we wouldn’t accept you?”
“I wasn’t sure,” he sniffled, scrunching his nose up. He had already cried so much over the past few days; it was starting to get annoying. “To be honest, it kind of got lost in the chaos. I was so scared of what you might say. I—I was so scared of everything.”
“Oh, baby.” Hope’s lips trembled again as she scanned his face as if she was soaking in every detail, her thin fingers brushing his hair out of his eyes like she had always done.
“I’m better now,” he said with a weak shrug. “He can’t touch me anymore.”
Lyall smiled, though it looked pained. “You should never have been put in that position.”
It suddenly became difficult to swallow. “Okay.”
As if he could read his mind, his father pulled him back in for a hug and rested his chin on Remus’ head as his mother rubbed his back. “Sirius, stop lurking and join the hug,” she laughed. Moments later, a familiar set of arms encircled his other side and Sirius kissed his temple.
“Where’s Jules?” Remus asked without making a move to leave the hug.
“He’s staying with the neighbors. We didn’t think it was a good idea for him to be around all the press.” Lyall’s chest rumbled against Remus’ cheek and he melted into the feeling. “We’ll be here as long as you need us.”
“I love you so much.”
“Love you, too, Re.”

BTHB - Anger Born of Worry
Tumblr media
When Fao left on tour, he seemed to take most of Harrison’s sense and stability with him. The younger wolf began causing issues almost immediately, quickly squaring up to Sheila and Fred. Even Steve couldn’t control him, or his wolf.
After a particularly vicious moon, leaving both Harrison and Fred bruised and sore, things took a turn for the worse. He’d started on Finn, rounding on him over breakfast. They’d scrapped over nothing, Finn ending up landing on the floor rather roughly. He’d yelped immediately, scrambling away as he tried to protect himself. Still, Harrison didn’t stop.
The Daniels were furious, struggling to believe Harrison would do that to Finn, the kid he’d always adored. He was kicked out, the rest of the pack watching him as he collected his belongings. It was clear he wasn’t welcome.
Theo took him in, let him crash on his sofa while Steve patched Finn up - while he’d done what he could at the clinic, but it was clear he needed their hospital. Harrison, being bigger and more prepared, hadn’t fared too badly; a few cuts and scrapes that would heal soon enough.
While Theo’s offer was kind, Harrison couldn’t stay. He wasn’t sure if it was couldn’t or wouldn’t, but either way, he had to go. He left notes, an apology to Finn and then the Daniels, a few notes he’d saved up included to pay for the broken plates and chairs; another to Steve, for taking the chance on him and him screwing it all up, like he always did; one for Theo, a quick explanation and a (polite) request to not throw his stuff out, not that he deserved it; and finally, one for Fao. He wasn’t sure if it was a plead for him to come home safely, or an apology for everything he’d ever done. A love letter of sorts, things he’d never say out loud, but since he wasn’t coming back, that didn’t matter. Fao might as well know.
He waited until Theo had gone to bed, the older man offering to stay up and chat, sensing something was off. He’d declined, lied until he was left alone. Despite the other wolf trying to wait up, he’d drifted off, giving Harrison his opportunity.
He’d taken food from his cupboards - old stuff, nearly out of date, things he’d heard Theo complain about. It wasn’t like Harrison to just take charity, so he left some money too, under his letter of apology. With nothing left to do, he shouldered his backpack, shoved his rolled duvet under his arm and slipped out into the night.
When Theo woke and found Harison gone, he called everyone he knew, panic clear in his words. Nobody had seen or heard from him. And then, he found the letters.
The pack was out searching as soon as Theo raised the alarm - Harrison was still part of the pack, even after his actions. Everyone was distraught, worried about him - it wasn’t the first time he’d ran off, but everything felt wrong. His letters held too much finality, too much goodbye.
When Fao came back from his tour, it was to the family and the pack in chaos. Harrison missing was worrying, and the letter Fao read made his stomach twist. He was exhausted, just come back from war, but he threw himself into searching. Of course, after he'd spent some time with Finn. Something about what Harrison had said in his letter sent Fao searching further afield than he usually would. He spent days scouring the woods as wolf, sleeping under bushes despite the cold and wind. He clung to every hint of a scent, desperate to find him.
Haarrison kept his distance, travelled North. He’d never been far from London, only ever travelling to the south coast on the ‘family’ holidays he’d had. There was nothing for him in the north, but that was part of the (pull) of it. He wasted most of his money on hotels, trying his best to find somewhere to stay out of the cold and rain. There wasn’t much he could do; he couldn’t work, had to be careful where he left his leg when he shifted too. He did his best to hide his scent, to keep the pack from finding him, not that they’d be looking for him anyway.
The food was gone quickly too, despite his attempt to ration and hunt when he could. The idea of fish had quickly grown stale, rabbit and pigeon following suit.
He didn’t dare to beg, though would often find some safety in sleeping in doorways in city centres, his duvet wrapped tight around him. He was caught out a few times too, woken up to someone trying to rob him and beat him up. Bloody lip and bruised eyes left him more suspicious, made him sit awake at night. His black eyes grew into dark bags under his eyes, his tiredness past exhaustion.
With the days slightly warmer, more crowds flocked to the streets. His usual sleeping places disturbed by foot traffic and prying eyes. As much as he tried to sleep during the day, every instinct in him begged him to keep moving, to try and evade any search efforts that might still be going on. After all, he’d caused so much trouble within the pack, they’d surely still be out for blood.
It took Fao a long while to even get close to finding him. But his letter kept him going, scanning over each word to try and find any hint of where he was. It took him much further North than he expected. He lost the scent, and had pretty much given up as he headed into the town, very much human, in search of a hotel room to stay in and get cleaned up. But then he caught a scent again, and whilst he couldn’t be sure, it certainly seemed like him.
And there, curled up in a shop doorway, was Harrison. He was curled under a filthy duvet, and he smelled sick, but it was him.
Fao stopped dead.
“Harrison? Tomcat?”
He didn’t move at first. There was no way Fao had found him, not this far away. He sniffed quietly. Well, shit. Not one to give up, he pulled the duvet further over his head, trying to hide.
“Harrison?”
“No.”
“It’s only me.”
He sat up slowly, breathing deeply as he tried to check if it really was just Fao. The others wouldn't be too far away. “Fao.”
“Hey, stranger.”
“What do you want?” He got stiffly to his feet, backed in the corner.
“Wanted to find you. Came back from tour and you’d gone.”
“Yeah.”
“I've missed you, Tomcat.”
“So what have you come to do?”
“Came to find you. Your letter… Well, I…”
“I said what I said.”
“I was scared I'd lose you.”
“I’m not coming back.” He frowned. “If you’re going to kill me, just get it over with.”
“I'm not gonna kill you, don't be daft.” Fao said. “But I swear I've been wolf for like a week, I was gonna get a hotel room, grab a shower and some food? Wanna come?”
“So you can tell the others where I am so they can get me? Yeah, sure.”
“They don't know I'm here, and I'm not going to tell them. I won't tell them I've found you, if you'd rather not. But nobody wants to kill you.”
“Of course they do.”
“They don't, Hars. They're all really worried about you.”
He shook his head with a bark of a laugh. "Don't be daft."
“They are. Sheila's a wreck.”
“She hates me.”
“She doesn’t.”
“They’re not my pack any more.”
“They’re always going to be your pack, Hars.”
He scoffed. "They kicked me out. I deserved it."
“They told you to leave the house. That doesn't mean you're gone from the pack.”
“As good as.”
“Not at all.”
“I’ve said what I said, Fao. I’m not going back.” He squared his shoulders, clenched his jaw. “Just leave me alone.”
“Come on, let’s at least grab a shower, some hot food and sleep in a real bed tonight.”
He shook his head, though his heart desperately wanted to. “No, I’m not...I’ve got to go now.”
“No commitment. Have some food, a soft place to sleep. And then if you still want to walk away… I can’t stop you.”
“So you can kill me in my sleep.” He laughed drily or dryly whatever. “Yeah, sure.”
“You don’t trust me anymore?”
“I trust that pack will come before I do.”
“They’re not coming. I can’t even tell them, my phone is dead.”
“You can charge it.”
“Why would I tell them? I’m just here for you.”
“Because you all want me dead.”
“We don’t.”
He couldn;t allow himself the hope. “No.”
“I swear, tomcat. Swear on my life.”
Fao wouldn’t lie to him. “No, mate. It’s okay.”
“Come on, let’s get you warm and fed, eh?” Fao said, offering him a hand.
He flinched away; his back hit against stone and he groaned. “I’ve said no.”
Fao frowned, and stepped back. “I’m not going to hurt you.”
“I know, I know.” He wrapped an arm around his stomach, protecting himself. “I know.”
Fao dropped his gaze, wolf body language taking over by default. “I’m just here to help you.”
“Honest?”
“Honest. I wouldn't lie.”
He hesitated, almost giving in. “I’ve not got any money.”
“Let me worry about the money.”
“I’m not taking charity.”
“Do I look like a charity? You're family, shut up and let me take care of you, tomcat.”
"I'm not family." He spat.
“You are to me.” Fao said, folding his arms over his chest. “Don't snap at me.” His tone betrayed where he'd been for the past few months, a hangover from his tour.
"I'll do what I want."
Fao raised an eyebrow at him, but didn't say a word.
Harrison's lip curled. "What are you going to do?"
“Dunno. Figured I'd just wait for you to stop being an ass.
"I'm packing my shit and going." He all but snarled, starting to roll his duvet up.
“Okay. You want a hand?”
"Does it look like I want a hand?"
“Well, you seem to be making this a big thing. Bit dramatic if you ask me, all I did was offer you some food and a warm bed.”
"You only offered so you'd have the chance to hurt me."
“No I didn't. I don't want to hurt you.”
"You have to."
“No I don't.”
"An eye for an eye."
“Nobody cares about any of that crap.”
“Don’t lie.”
“I'm not lying.”
"I'll pay you back." He softened.
“If you want to.”
“I will.”
“Come on then. Food, a shower and sleep in a real bed.””
“I’ll sleep on the floor.” He said. “Nothing I’m not used to.”
“No, come on. We'll get you a good bed.”
He could fight it later. “Okay.”
Slowly, Fao offered Harrison his hand again. “Come on, then.”
Harrison shouldered his pack, then reached for Fao's hand. "Thank you."
“I've missed you.”
"Don't be daft."
“I really have!”
He didn't say anything. He still wasn't sure where he stood. There was no sign of ill intentions with Fao, but he couldn't be too careful.
Fao sighed, but didn't push it. Harrison was going to take time to trust him again. But he lead him to the hotel he'd planned on staying in, and managed to reserve a double room. They'd both have somewhere proper to sleep, hot water, and food that night and the next morning.
Harrison hesitated again. “Can I grab a shower?”
“Of course. You got some clean clothes?”
“Clean enough.”
“Grab some of mine, they're clean. And we can buy some more for you.”
“It’s fine. I can wash them in the sink.”
“No, Hars. We’ll get you some nice clothes.”
“I’ve got clothes.”
“Clean clothes.”
"They will be once I've washed them."
“Alright.”
“I told you,” he said gruffly. “I’m not taking charity.”
“I know. But there's a difference between pity and help.”
“And I don’t think you know the difference.”
“Of course I do.”
"Then stop pitying me."
“I'm not pitying you. I'm just trying to help.”
He scuffed his feet. "Feels a lot like pity."
“But Tomcat, you think anyone who's trying to help is pitying you.”
“Because it’s the same thing.”
“It's not.”
“No?” He raised an eyebrow. “Could have fooled me.”
“Yeah, I know.”
“How far is the hotel?”
“Not far.”
“I’ve had enough walking.”
“It's not too far. But I can carry some of your stuff?”
He jerked away. "It's mine."
“I'm not gonna take it. Thought it might just make the walk easier if you didn't have so much to carry.”
“I always have to carry it. Otherwise someone would nick it.”
“I'm not gonna nick it.”
"You might." He shrugged his backpack on again. "It's fine."
“Okay.” It hurt that Harrison didn't trust him any more, but he didn't know what else to do or say.
Harrison could sense the pain from Fao and he sighed. "It's filthy anyway, I'm better off carrying it."
“Whatever you're comfortable with.”
"Not fair on you."
“Not like I'm not fit.”
He huffed. "Yeah, that's true."
“So I'm happy to carry if you need it.”
"It's okay."
“Let’s get going, then.”
He sighed. “Yeah, sure.”
Fao led the way to the hotel, trying to keep a slow pace so Harrison didn't have to rush.
Harrison hesitated outside, turning to Fao. “They’ll kick me out again.”
“No they won't. They've been paid enough.”
“Still, they’ve seen the state of me.”
“You look fine, just a bit scuffed up.”
“I look homeless.”
“Well, Hars, I hate to break it to you, but you have been living on the streets.” Fao attempted to joke. “Come on, take my hoodie.” He pulled it over his head.
“You think I don’t know?” Harrison snapped at Fao.
“Sorry, sorry. Stupid joke. Come on, just take the hoodie, it’ll be alright. You’re clearly with me, so it’s fine.”
“And what about my shit?”
“I’ll carry it.”
“They won’t let you in.”
“Give it here, I’ll shove it in my bag?”
“Let me carry the bag though?”
“Sure, so long as you don’t break it.”
“I’m not going to.”
“Good.” Fao shrugged his bag off and rolled Harrison’s duvet and other crap up to shove it inside. “That’s alright?”
“Yeah, that’s fine.” He swung it onto his back. “Thanks.”
“Let's go, then.”
“Right.” He nodded. “After you.”
Fao led the way inside, glancing back at Harrison to make sure he was still following.
"I'm not going to run off. Don't give me that look."
“But you thought about it.”
“No.” He lied.
Fao raised an eyebrow, but didn't say anything. They got inside, and spoke to the person at the desk. He shot them some slightly odd looks, but Fao spoke in a way that dared him to give them shit, and nothing was said. They were given keys, and directions to the room. They headed up, and Fao unlocked the door to let Harrison inside. “Here we go. Much better.”
“Yeah, definitely.”
“Do you wanna grab a shower?”
“Yes please.”
“Go on, then.”
He glanced at Fao before heading into the bathroom, backpack still on. “Won’t be long.”
“Harrison. My pack, please?”
“It’s got my stuff in.”
“Take your stuff out?”
“Fine.”
“Thanks.”
He shoved his pack towards Fao. “I’m getting a shower now.”
“Yeah, go ahead. Enjoy it.”
He headed back into the bathroom, dumping his stuff on the floor before stripping. He ran the water hot, used as much shampoo and bodywash as he could, and just stood under the stream. It was a stark difference from his previous attempts at a shower, a hurried wash in the mcdonalds toilets. After washing his hair and body, he slumped down, sliding until he was sat on the shower floor. His head in his hands, he let himself cry, all his emotions coming to a head.
Fao gave Harrison plenty of time in the shower. He deserved his privacy, and it was no doubt the first shower he'd had in far too long. He sorted through the other wolf's stuff, only to neatly fold it for now. He'd go through and wash it later for him. Even the duvet could be washed, he was sure. Of course he wanted to bring Harrison home, but if he chose to keep living this way, the best he could do was make him more comfortable.
Harrison eventually emerged from the bathroom, hair still dripping and a mess on his head. He was in slightly cleaner clothes, his others having also had a wash. When he saw Fao, his lip curled.
"I told you not to touch my stuff."
“I just folded them for you.” Fao said, guarded. “That way you can pick out what wants washing and if anything needs fixing. It didn't seem right, just leaving it in a pile on the floor. It's all there, you can check it for yourself."
"It's not yours to touch."
“Look, sorry. I was only trying to help.”
"I didn't ask for your help!" He shot back, his wavering voice betraying him. "I didn't ask for any of it."
“Look, I don't know what the fuck happened back home, I don't care, but I'm your pack and I'm your family and we help eachother out when we end up in the shit! I'm not long back from fucking Afghanistan, and yet here I am with you, because I'm not just going to walk past and leave you to suffer. So get your head out of your ass and just let me help, for fuck's sake. It's not pity, it's not charity, it's me helping a friend. And I'm sorry I touched your stuff, I am. But I was only trying to make your life easier!”
Harrison didn’t say anything, visibly shrinking back on himself, his lip trembling. He turned away, grabbing his clothes and stuffing them haphazardly into his bag.
Fao softened, and stepped back. He'd gone too far, he knew he had, but Harrison was just so frustrating. It didn't help just how worried he was about him.
“Look, Tomcat, I'm sorry…”
He shook his head, his wet clothes shoved on top. "Don't."
“Don't go. I'll leave you be, the room is yours. Don't have to see my stupid face. But take it, sleep in a real bed, eat real food. For your own health.”
"It's fine." He tried to slink past Fao. "I'm fine."
“No, Hars, you're not fine.”
"I am."
“You're so far from fine it hurts. I read your letter, I really thought I was never going to see you again. I thought I'd lost you. Please, don't go…”
He stopped, finally looking at Fao. "You weren't meant to find me."
“And yet I did.” Fao said, stepping closer. “Come on, don't throw it all in now.”
"I can't." He shook his head, clenched his jaw to try and stop the tears that threatened again. "It's already over."
Fao couldn't help himself, he pulled Harrison in for a hug, crushing him against his chest. “Oh, Tomcat, nothing is ever over.”

“I’ll See You At The Finish Line”
Requested One-Shot : Shelby Sister! x Shelby Brothers
Prompt: The boys have gone to war, expecting you to be there for when they come home. Little did they know, you were recruited as well.
Tight chests. Anxious ticks. They were leaving. You couldn’t force out your words. You were worried that you wouldn’t say everything you needed to say. Afraid that you’d kick yourself in the ass later on for not saying enough. Did they know you loved them? That you were praying for a safe venture?
“Don’t cry,” Arthur was never this affectionate. His arms held you tightly. “Don’t go, please don’t leave.” Your voice was hoarse from sobs. They were recruited. You had known about this day for weeks now, but you couldn’t believe it was already time for them to go. Polly looked to Arthur as she stood behind you. It was a joke between everyone, that you were the fifth Shelby brother. You were always closer to the men, than you were to your aunt and sister.
Arthur wasn’t afraid of dying. He was afraid of hurting you. Scared to hurt Ada, Pol, and little Finn. He was even more afraid to see his brothers die next to him. “Al-Alright,” he tried to coo as gently as possible. Tears were threatening to spill from his eyes. Ada was a wreck in the kitchen. All of the Peaky women were.
John hushed you softly as he helped Arthur pry you off. “You’re coming back right?” You pleaded to John. “You wont leave, yeah?” Your words weren’t convincing. Three men, same war. You knew the possibility of all three coming back were low. You just didn’t know which one had the odds against him.
“I’m gonna come back, I promise.” John smoothed your hair. He was always the stronger one out of both of you. More reserved, more laid-back. He knew how to calm you. Arthur made his rounds of goodbyes, as he embraced Polly. Ada was pleading to Thomas in the kitchen.
They haven’t seen you cry like this before. They were use to it with Ada. She gave them a soft-spot for emotions. She made them more understanding of women in general. Pol was very head-strong, and tried her hardest to not break down in front of the boys. But you, they haven’t seen you cry since your father left.
You shut your eyes tightly as he pulled you into his chest. Your breathing was shaky. His hands trembled on your back. John closed them to fists, trying to hide his nerves. It was no use. He was as scared as you were.
“Don’t worry,” his time was running out. He inhaled sharply through his nose, and regretfully pulled away from you. “They’ve gotta go love,” Polly softly remarked. Her words burned like an iron.
You shook your head in defiance, but you knew they had to leave. Your family couldn’t afford more Shelby men in prison, and they couldn’t spare money for a fine.
You let go of John. Your chest knotted and you picked at the fabric of your sleeves. Don’t break down. Keep it under wraps.
Arthur and John said their tearful goodbyes, and grabbed their items. They headed to the front door. The room was too tense. There was nothing you could do to stop them.
You had to see Tommy. You turned to the kitchen and he was already walking out. He stopped walking, just to look at you. You were never this weak, this fragile, this afraid.
“Don’t cry, please.” Before the war, his words could melt a room. He set down his bag and approached you. He was the one that would hurt the most. You and Tommy had a different bond than anyone else in your family. You both had a mutual understanding for each other.
He was always honest with you about family affairs. He never spoke down to you, or dismissed you as an annoying younger-sister. He treated you like a best friend. Your minds clicked. He always confided in you before any big change in the company.
His hands wiped away your tears. He was the only one you didn’t want to cry in front of. His hands moved to your cheeks as he held your face. “Don’t break my heart now,” he said lightly with a smile. You didn’t want him to change after the war, but you knew that they all would.
You felt as if you wouldn’t have any direction without them. No sense of mind. Polly was helpful, but you had a tendency to rebel against her suggestions.
You could only shake your head in response to his words. You felt your lip tremble and you knew you were close to losing it. His hands kept you steady. “Please be safe,” was all you could muster. You were going over the things you’d remember him for in your head. His bar-fights, slick jokes, willingness to help people. You were going to hold onto that, and hope that he did the same. “I will.. I will,” he mumbled reassuringly, pulling you into a hug.
Your tears burned hot as they drenched his shirt. You held onto him tightly. No one in your family was this affectionate. You weren’t use to it, and neither was he. Situations like this made most of you uncomfortable. This was different. You didn’t want to let go. Tommy didn’t either. “I’ll make my way back to you,” he promised. You couldn’t stand the thought of being alone without him. No one else picked your brains quite like he could.
“I guess I’ll see you at the finish line,” you spoke into his shoulder. He knew it was time to go, when Polly walked near and shot him a knowingly-glance. He couldn’t be late to the station. There was love between all of you in that house. It went unspoken.
“That you will,” he said pressing a kiss to the side of your head. He backed up and firmly clasped your shoulders. “No more crying. When I come home, you better have not snuck any boys into the house. And if I find out, its your ass.” he threatened to lighten your frown. “No promises, I’ll just have them sleep in your bed,” you laughed through stinging tears. Your face was red from distraught, but you mustered a smile. His hands dropped from your shoulders. All he could do was nod with tight lips and fake a smile. Now it was really time for them to go. He picked up his bag from the floor.
You couldn’t move. You stared at his back as he walked to the door. Arthur and John had been waiting outside. At least they would all be together. They weren’t by themselves in all of this. “Oh and another thing,” Tommy called back as he opened the door. “Don’t fuck with my things,” he said pointing a finger specifically to you. “No promises,” you responded once again. He shot you one last weakened smile, and with that, they were gone.
The months to come were hectic. Getting into the swing of managing the business, and gambling accounts was rough. Pol knew what she was doing, and helped earnestly to guide to and Ada. Yet, she had more of a knack for it than you did.
The house was quiet. It was also clean. You began to realize how messy the men in your family were. It didn’t take long for you to register that you had no purpose in the house. You didn’t contribute to womanly duties, and quite frankly, you never intended on doing so.
When you first caught wind of more nurses being needed in war, it quickly became a thought in the back of your head. You were never ill at the sight of blood, and have always wanted learn proper stitching methods. You’ve closed up wounds, but no one’s ever said you’ve done the prettiest job.
Polly rejected the idea of you going into war. She refused to let you leave. “Too many of us are gone. I don’t want to risk losing one of you if it’s not necessary.” Ada on the other-hand, understood your need for it. She knew you were passionate about it. Which is why she went with you to the train station.
When Ada came back without you, Polly knew she had lied. You didn’t go to the market, you had sold yourself to the government. She didn’t speak to Ada for days. She felt betrayed. Almost all of her children except for two, stayed back from the war. Finn was just a child, and Ada knew better to partake. She never really forgave you for leaving.
The sights you saw. The amputations, the deaths, the burns. War was a cruel thing. All the men fighting were just pawns in a game of. It was always in the forefront of your mind. What if one day Arthur was rushed in with no legs? What if Johns tore-up body flat lined in front of you? What if they never got the chance to find Thomas’ body on the field. He stayed an unnamed corpse. These were the thoughts that kept you awake in your cot.
The hospital never slept. The noises of agony and pain rang through the halls. The pleas for mercy, the cries for death. You could never get past the smell. Sleep was off the table. Most times, you figured yourself mad. Shadows running down the hall. Shaking hands whenever someone would die in front of you. It was your fault. No matter how battered, you always blamed yourself for the deaths of soldiers. The ones that were too far gone. You’d close their eyes and wheel out the body.
   Your mind was numb. Emotionless.
Many nights you’d spend your moments of peace crying your eyes out in the cleaners closet. You knew you were saving lives. You couldn’t help but imagine your brothers suffering the same fate as the men down the hall.
When the war was over, infantry was sent home first. Then the back-ranks, and finally the med teams.
When your brothers came back from war, they were all changed. Arthur wasn’t loud and boastful. He was quiet and shut-off. John didn’t talk much within the first hour of being home, and Thomas no longer smiled. The color was drained from their faces. Polly tried to grab all of them in her arms. Arthur flinched at first, and John weakly hugged back. Thomas didn’t budge.
Ada stood behind Polly with Finn on her hip. They were almost unrecognizable. “Just a long trip back,” Arthur muttered for a false explanation.
“Wheres Y/N?” Thomas quipped. Polly’s face dropped, and John looked up from the floorboards. Something wasn’t right. “Well she..” Ada tried to start.
You weren’t dead, and you weren’t missing. That much was obvious. “Spit it out,” Tommy spoke coldly. His eyes didn’t break from Adas. The pressure to answer resided heavily in the room. John sheepishly looked to Thomas.
Polly felt the snap in him. “About three months after you all left, she did too.” Her voice was calm as possible.
Arthur’s brows furrowed with confusion. “Moved out? Fuck happened?” He questioned. John still kept his mouth shut. They were already asking what he was wondering.
“No, you’re not understanding me...” Polly chimed. Thomas was thinking long and hard. He saw the expression on Adas face and pieced it together. “Then say it in a way we’ll understand,” He snapped, hoping to be wrong.
“She went to war..” Ada spoke up. Johns ears started to burn. His baby sister joined the fight? “She enlisted as a nurse. Wrote one letter telling us she was assigned to the field medics..” Her voice dropped with each word.
Thomas couldn’t believe this. His eyes were wide with rage. “You fucking let her join?” Arthur shouted, setting his bags on the floor. There was a timid aggression that had grown in all of them. Ada felt the weight of her assistance, breaking down her shoulders.
“You know how she is Arthur,” Polly grew defensive. “Shes stubborn and-” “And naive!” Thomas finally broke. “She left on her own Thomas!” Polly snapped back, covering up for Ada.
John ran his hands through his hair and moved to sit near the dinner table. He still hadn’t said a word. “Are you fucking mad!” Thomas boasted. He never yelled at either of them before. Not like this at least.
Polly saw the deep issues that grew within all of them. The fear, the aggression, the passion to hate. She took his anger. Let him get his punches out.
“She’ll be back in a few weeks. The paper said there weren’t enough trains to send every one home.” Her words did the opposite of calm him. He pinched the bridge of his nose. “I need a fucking smoke,” He muttered walking back out of the door.
Arthur shook his head in disbelief. The women didn’t expect this kind of reunion. The men didn’t either.
Thomas sat down on the curb outside. If he didn’t leave the house, he’d put a hole in the wall. His hands were shaking as he pulled out a cigarette. It was too cold outside for his current attire, but he didn’t care.
He lit the flame and stared at the carriages trotting by. The people on the streets embracing one another. He looked down at the cobblestone. Fucking unbelievable. You were suppose to be there when he came home. He was suppose to take comfort in knowing that you’d be there to help him through this. He couldn’t imagine what you must have seen.
He inhaled smoke, letting it burn his tightened chest. Now the tables have turned, and the cards were switched. He was going to have to be your support system as well. He held his forehead in his hands. He shut his emotionless eyes, and sat in thought.
“At the end of the finish line,” he hummed to himself. His mind was still in France. Fighting a war that no one else could quite see. Yet his empty shell of a body was back in Birmingham. Broken, scarred. He inhaled, and sighed through his nose.
Despite his disappointment and inner rage, he knew he had to be strong to distinguish your fire that would burn brighter than his. He was just hoping you’d make it home in one piece.

The Luck of the Draw
For @klaroline-events KC Bingo -  Sketchbook - On FF and AO3
Klaus loses his sketchbook at school and Caroline (his sister’s best friend) finds it. The problem is it contains drawings of her and Caroline has enlisted his help to track down its owner. What could possibly go wrong?
“I need you now.”
“I know I’m amazing, but…”
“Would you just shut up and get in here?’
“If you wanted a tour of my bedroom, all you needed to do was ask, sweetheart.”
“Shhhhh,” she hissed, pulling him inside the room and shutting the door behind them. “Do you want the whole house to hear you, Mikaelson?”
“Says the girl who invited herself into my bedroom.”
“I’ve been trying to get your attention all night. What did you think I was doing under the dinner table?”
“Well, to be honest, I wasn’t exactly sure if that was you or Arabella doing that,” he smirked. Arabella was the Mikaelson’s pet cat. Although friendly, Klaus knew exactly who was doing the rubbing. “Now, is there a point to all the dramatics, Forbes?’
“You infuriate me.”
“Enough with the compliments, love,” Klaus replied lazily, lying on his bed and placing his hands behind his head.
“You promised to help me find, well you know.”
“If we knew who it was you wouldn’t need my help.” Her response was an exaggerated eye roll. “Fine, I don’t have anything for you.”
“Unbelievable.”
“To be fair, you only brought me this proposition a couple of days ago. I need time to track down that kind of information.”
“Okay, calling it a proposition, which it so isn’t, makes it sound untoward,” she shot back. “How difficult is it to ask around?”
“Artists aren’t like cheerleaders and jocks; we do things differently. You know less flashy and more…”
“Sullen and brooding?”
“I personally take offence to that.”
“Says the broody guy who called me flashy,” she muttered. “How difficult is it to ask all your arty people if they’ve lost a sketchbook? One that just happens to have drawings of me on every page.”
Hearing that reminded Klaus just what was at stake here.
Sure, he’d lied when she’d brought him the sketchbook. He’d been looking for it for days when she presented it to him after finding it on the bleachers post cheer practice.
After kicking himself mentally for leaving it in such a public place, Klaus assumed she’d worked out it was his and was madly trying to decide out how to explain himself.
Sure, it probably looked creepy to an outsider, but Klaus had been sketching her for the last two years.
Given Rebekah had told him in no uncertain terms “to keep his mitts off” her friends, he had no choice but to draw her instead. Klaus considered it his way of dealing with his unrequited feelings.
They were worlds apart in the school hierarchy. Caroline was a junior and did pretty much every extracurricular activity on offer. Klaus, a senior, liked his space far too much to go to football games and parties. He much preferred spending time with his few close friends, reading books and drawing.
What he wasn’t expecting was for Caroline to ask his help in tracking down the sketchbook’s owner. At first, he considered coming clean but then had no idea how he’d explain himself so went with the alternative.
Tracking down someone who didn’t really exist.
What Klaus hadn’t expected was to have so much fun being around her. He knew she was beautiful, intelligent and all-consuming but the past few days had given him a glimpse of what could be. Or, given his sister’s views, what could have been.
Although, Klaus wasn’t going to let those thoughts get in the way. He was having far too much fun to stop now. One thing, however, had alluded him. What were here plans once she discovered the secret artist?
“I’m curious, Forbes. What exactly do you plan on doing?”
“What do you mean?”
“Once you find your mystery artist, what happens next?”
“I, uh,” she faltered, her blue eyes filled with uncertainty. “I suppose I haven’t worked that out yet.”
“Why’s that?’ Klaus asked, hoping his voice didn’t sound as desperate as it felt.
“Caroline! Where are you?” Rebekah’s voice pierced the air. Even with his door shut she could still be heard. “I need help removing this face masque before it decides to stick on me for good.”
“Quelle horreur,” he joked in French, earning a knowing smile from her best friend. “Sounds like you better go tend to the screaming banshee given this disaster could rival the Titanic.”
“I’m not finished with you.”
“I kind of figured,” he nodded thinking that wasn’t necessarily a bad thing at all.  With another eye roll and a hair toss for good measure, she made her way towards the door. “Next time try and refrain from accosting me in my bedroom though, love.”
“You wish, Mikaelson,” she retorted, turning around one last time before pulling the door closed behind her.
He really did wish.
It was only after she’d left, leaving a scent of vanilla and strawberries in her wake, that Klaus realised he already missed her.
2 days later
“What exactly are we doing here?”
“Why are you whispering? This isn’t the library last time I checked.”
Klaus had suggested they stake out the school’s art studio at lunch to try and track down her sketchbook owner. Yes, he was lying, but couldn’t resist being around her without the whole school watching them.
She’d been texting him a lot the past day and they’d fallen into their usual banter via cell phone. If he knew how fun this would have been he’d have started much earlier.
C: How does someone draw like this?
K: Like what?
C: I always thought my stick figures were lifelike but then I saw these.
K: Stick figures get way too much criticism if you ask me.
C: Now you’re just being facetious.
K: That’s a big word for such a little girl.
C: It’s okay, I’ll buy you a dictionary so you can look it up, Mikaelson.
“So, this is where everything happens?” She asked, looking around at the myriad of paints and brushes, easels and canvases. Klaus liked the art studio, he found it incredibly relaxing and tranquil.
“You mean the painting?”
“No, dumbass, I mean the brooding.”
“Has anyone ever told you that you’re hilarious?” He teased, swatting her playfully with a paint brush.
“All the time,” she replied deadpan. “I’m thinking of majoring in drama at college.”
“Well, you have that drama queen thing going for you.” She gave him a look which clearly said he’d gone too far. “I’m not saying you’ll win an Academy Award for best dramatic performance though, that has my sister written all over it.”
“I’ve never understood how you two are related,” Caroline mused. ‘Don’t get me wrong, I love Rebekah, but she’s so loud and bossy and you’re…”
“Not?”
“Obviously you missed out on that and she missed out on the smart-ass gene,” she laughed, her whole face lighting up. Klaus loved watching her love, hell he loved watching her do anything.
She was wearing her cheerleading uniform as there was a game that night. Her blonde waves were piled into a high ponytail and the school colours only made her eyes that much bluer.
“So, how are we going to find this mystery person when no one is here?”
“That’s the whole point,” he insisted. “Take a look around and see if anyone’s artwork looks familiar.”
“Where’s your work?”
“Why?” He asked curiously but also probably too quickly. Was she onto him?
“Well, we’ve known each other all this time and I’ve never seen your work,” she offered. “You must be pretty good if you’re going to RISD after graduation.”
“How do you know about that?” Klaus was shocked, although they saw each other frequently he didn’t think she ever actually saw him.
“Your sister must have mentioned it,” she murmured. Klaus noticed a slight blush cross her cheeks and decided it was the most beautiful thing he’d ever seen. “So, I, uh, guess I should take a look around.”
“Yeah, I guess so,” he only just managed to get out.
“Not many stick figures and here I thought I had a future in art.”
“I can teach you.” It just came out before Klaus had time to process his offer. Maybe it was a stupid thing to suggest but it was too late now.
“I might be a lost cause,” she admitted.
“Come on, let’s give it a try.”
“Now?”
“Well, there’ll be less embarrassment if you draw a stick figure without the judgmental, brooding artist crowd watching.” Before she could argue, he’d moved in behind her, placing a sketchpad on the desk and a pencil in her hand.
He was trying to ignore just how good she felt against his chest. He noticed her breath quicken, hoping for even just a second that she felt even a shred of what he did for her.
“Okay, so point the pencil towards the paper,” he instructed, placing his hand over hers and tilting it slightly. Her skin was just as soft as it looked. “This is how you need to hold it.”
“So, that’s what I was doing wrong all this time,” she teased. He smiled against her hair, thinking just how comfortable he felt, his hand guiding hers gently to the paper.
Later that night
“I thought football games were a waste of time,” she teased, approaching him on the bleachers. The crowds were long gone, the field empty. “I seem to recall you saying something only a few days ago about cheerleaders and jocks being too flashy.”
“Well, if the shoe fits,” he muttered. “I was bored, what can I say?”
“Did you at least catch my halftime act?”
“I did actually,” he smiled, thinking he quite liked what he saw. The pure athleticism on display was impressive and it didn’t hurt that she looked beautiful doing it. “Those spirit fingers had to be my favourite part though.”
“Uh, huh,” she growled sarcastically. “I knew you were secretly watching Bring It On when you thought Rebekah and I didn’t notice.”
“In my defence, Finn and Elijah watched it too and I had a crush on the Clover’s Captain.”
“Wow, he even remembers the team name,” she laughed, taking a seat and putting her pom poms down. “You sure do like this spot.”
“Excuse me?”
“On the bleachers. I remember you used to watch me and Rebekah practice before try-outs from here. I could tell you weren’t really interested but it meant a lot that you did it for Rebekah.”
“It wasn’t just for Rebekah, Caroline,” he murmured, his gaze now downward, finally finding her red pom poms a much needed distraction.
“The reason this spot stands out to me is not just because of that,” she said, moving closer. “This also happens to be where I found the mystery sketchbook.”
“Really? What a coincidence.”
“You know, I don’t think it was, Klaus,” she pressed. “I know it’s your sketchbook.”
“You do?” He asked, finally looking up into her eyes.
“I’ve known since I found it and looked inside,” she admitted. “It seemed too much of a coincidence that it was in this spot and those sketches were of me.”
“So, you were testing me?” He asked, suddenly put out that she’d known and didn’t feel the need to be honest. Klaus felt stupid enough about her finding them as it was.
“Maybe,” she murmured. “But not for the reason you think.”
“Why then?’
“Remember in your bedroom the other night, you asked me what I’d say to the person who owned the sketchbook?” He nodded by way of response, unable to get much else out given what was transpiring. “I didn’t know because it was yours.”
“I don’t understand.”
“Of course I knew what I wanted to say but I guess I but didn’t know if you wanted to hear it,” she admitted.
“Why would you think that?”
“You didn’t own up to it, I thought maybe you didn’t feel...”
“Feel what?”
“Hey, no fair! You’re the one who drew the most beautiful pictures that, by the way, I’ve only looked at hundreds of times. Which gave me all these feelings and emotions and I’m the only one having to fess up?” She was rambling but Klaus thought it was so adorable it didn’t matter.
“I think what you wanted to say is exactly what I wanted to say back to you.”
“This conversation has become awfully confusing but what I think you might be trying to say is...”
“I love you, Caroline Forbes.” She was silent for a moment, obviously processing not only his interruption but what he’d admitted. Maybe he’d gone too far?
“Wow,” she whispered. “Way to steal a girl’s thunder.”
“Is that all you’re going to say?”
“How about we stop talking all together and do something else instead?” She grinned, looping her arms around his neck and pulling him closer. “But for the record, I love you too.”
“Rebekah is going to kill me, isn’t she?”
“You’re really thinking about your sister right now? Just shut up and kiss me, Mikaelson.”

So this is the first piece of fanfic I have written literally ever. I will be posting them here periodically, but I already have 6 chapters out on my Wattpad, AO3 and FanFiction pages.
This series will involve romance, drama and (although it will take a little while) some smutt too. Hope you enjoy it! 😊

Chapter 5: Prince Charming
I had a quick shower in my locker room before heading out to the car park, where Fergal was coolly leaning against his car. I was feeling kind of nervous. Up to now every time I'd seen Fergal it was down to pure coincidence. Now we were very intentionally going out for food together.
"Ready to go?" he smiled as I approached his car. I nodded sheepishly in response. "Good. We'll swing by your place so you can drop of your stuff and change if you want."
"That would be great, thanks!" I threw my gym bag into the trunk and climbed into the passenger seat. Fergal turned the radio on low and pulled out of the car park.
"So can you drive back in England?" he asked me.
"To be honest no, I never got my licence"
"Really? How come?" I hesitated for a moment before answering. The truth was simple: I could never afford to. But the reason why was something I wanted to run so far away from that I'd never think about it again.
"Well... I grew up in a poor area and money was tight for a lot of my life. I guess I just... Never got around to it," I lied, before lowering my head in embarrassment.
"Ya know," he piped up eventually, clearly noticing my discomfort, "I didn't learn to drive until I joined NXT. Dusty actually taught me" he admitted, with a hint of sadness.
"You must have some great memories with him"
"Oh I could tell you some stories, " he smiled at me before turning his attention back to the road.
The journey was filled with laughter as Fergal recounted his driving lessons, and soon enough we were pulling up outside my apartment.
"Right, won't be a minute"
I jumped out of the car, rushed inside and dumped my gym stuff in the washer. Knowing that this wasn't a date took a lot of the pressure off of choosing an outfit. I kept reminding myself that this was just a casual meal between work colleagues and not to overthink it. I returned to the car in a nice top and some jeans.
"So where are we going?" I asked.
"Well there's a nice sushi place near here, or we could get pizza-"
"I LOVE sushi!" I interrupted loudly before catching myself "I mean... Sushi sounds great, please"
"Sushi it is!" Fergal giggled, and pulled away from the pavement.
* * * *
As we entered the restaurant, the host greeted Fergal with a warm, familiar smile.
"Mr Devitt! Your usual seat I presume?" he asked, eyeing me before giving Finn a knowing look. It was obvious the host was not surprised to see Fergal here with a new face.
"Yes please, if it's available"
"Of course! Right this way sir. And might I say, your lady friend looks ravishing this evening" he flashed me a charming smile.
"This is Ciara, she's a new superstar. She worked her ass off today so I'm treating her," Fergal flashed that gorgeous smile again, but his quickness to correct the hosts mistake had me a little disappointed.
"Ah, my mistake sir! I assumed... No matter. Can I get you anything to drink?"
"Just a soda, please"
We took our seats in a quiet corner of the restaurant.
"Same for me, thanks" I nodded.
"Right away," he nodded and left the two of us alone.
Our table was next to a large window looking out across a small stretch of beach. Not one of the many that were overpopulated with tourists, but a quiet, peaceful piece of heaven. As the sun started to set, its light was dancing across the surface of the ocean. It was a beautiful sight. I could see why this was Fergals usual table, though I couldn't help but wonder how many women he'd brought here, charming them with the view.
"So, what looks good?" Fergal opened the menu and glanced over the pages.
"Honestly, all of it..."
"I usually just get a sushi platter to share and then order some ramen or a bento box for myself."
"That sounds perfect," I closed my menu and set it down, relieved that he'd taken the lead before I said something stupid. Fergal called a waiter over to give him our order before turning his attention back to me.
"So how did you get into wrestling?"
"My mum is a huge fan, we used to watch it together. She's basically in love with Brett Hart" I giggled.
"She must be incredibly proud," he smiled. I nodded in response, trying to hold back some tears that had started to form. Noticing my sadness, his tone softened, "I know it's hard, moving away from family, friends, boyfriend..."
"Oh, I'm single so that's not an issue but... Yeah, I miss them a lot."
It could have been my hopeful imagination, but the look in his eyes seemed to shift slightly from sympathy to devilish triumph.
"Really? That's interesting..."
"How so?" I asked, playfully.
"Well..." he hesitated before leaning in slightly closer to me. He squinted his eyes in thought, as if he were trying to solve a difficult puzzle. "You're beautiful, so I doubt you're short on options. You don't have any annoying habits that I've seen, but honestly you're attractive enough that most guys won't care-"
"And what if I'm only interested in women?" I teased, enjoying watching his attempts at analysing me. He chuckled cockily and licked his bottom lip.
"Well in that case, all that flirting you did last night wouldn't make much sense would it?"
"I... Suppose not..." I mumbled, my cheeks beginning to feel hot once again.
Every interaction between Fergal and I felt like a game of Tennis, passing flirtatious remarks and enticing glances between us until one of us (usually me) was left feeling embarrassed.
"So that means, you're choosing to be single. Why is that?" he leaned back in his chair and folded his arms, satisfied with his theory.
"I'm just not looking for anything serious now. My career comes first."
"That's smart," he nodded in approval.
We were interrupted by a waiter bringing our food to the table. Everything looked and smelled amazing.
"I just got out of something semi-serious so, I'm focusing on my career too."
I popped a Maki roll into my mouth to hide my surprise. He didn't look like he was lying to me, but Saraya had mentioned last night that he was seeing someone. Maybe she was just taking a dig at him. There was a lot of hostility there after all.
Ugh... Thinking about last night was giving me flashbacks of my piss poor attempt at being alluring. I shuddered the thought out of my mind.
"You ok?"
"Yeah just, kind of embarrassed about last night," I confessed. "I don't normally flirt with complete strangers."
"I could tell, you were really bad at it. Do you always get like that when you're drunk or are ya just that attracted to me?" Fergal laughed, doing nothing to calm my already crimson face.
"I'm always like that, sorry to disappoint. But I did want to thank you for not taking advantage, and for making sure I got home safe. It was really kind of you..."
"Wow. No wonder you're single. You really need to get higher standards for men love. If not trying to sleep with you when you're drunk is your idea of kind, you're gonna be dating a lot of assholes."
I knew he was right, but considering my last relationship, honestly at this stage I'd say almost anything was an improvement.
We continued eating and laughing until finally the bill came. I reached into my bag to get my purse out.
"Woah, what are ya doing? I said this was my treat." Fergal insisted, reaching into his back pocket.
"At least let me pay for half of it"
"Absolutely not."
"You are fighting a losing battle here miss. Mr Devitt is a gentleman after all," the host chimed in, leaving me with no choice but to concede. We thanked him for the meal and said our goodbyes.
It was only when we got outside and it was pitch black I realised how long we'd been here for. Time really felt like nothing when I was spending it with Fergal. The journey home was made in a comfortable silence, both of us stuffed from dinner as I hummed along to the radio, and before I knew it we were pulling up outside of my apartment.
"Here, it's dark. I'll walk you to your door," Fergal switched off the engine and got out of the car.
"Thanks again for tonight. It was nice getting to hang out. Made me feel a little less lonely being here," I reached into my purse to grab my keys.
"No problem, I know what it's like moving to a new country. If you ever need anyone to just hang out with, let me know," he suggested.
"And next time I will definitely pay!"
"Yeah, keep telling yourself that." he beamed.
In the moonlight he looked more gorgeous than I could ever imagine, and I couldn't stop my gaze from wandering. They travelled from the pale blue pools of his eyes, to that intoxicating smile, to the perfect contours of his chest, all the way down to-
"Ahem, my eyes are up here," he smiled cheekily, clearly very pleased with himself that yet again he'd caught me checking him out.
"I was just-"
"No need to be embarrassed love. I take it as a compliment. I actually find it really cute you can't keep your eyes off of me. Besides..." he took a step closer to me and placed a tender hand on my cheek, "You're not the only one who's thought about it."
"Th.. Thought about... What?" I stammered, feeling a pleasant tingling at his touch.
"Oh, you KNOW what" he brushed a strand of hair behind my ear.
"I don't..."
He pushed me gently against the wall and held me there, one hand still caressing my cheek, the other pinning my hands above my head.
"So... You haven't thought about me ripping your clothes off and throwing you onto the bed. You've not thought about how it would feel, me kissing every inch of your body," he moved his face closer to mine until our lips were mere inches apart. His eyes were staring intensely into mine, and the feeling of his breath on my skin made my heart beat faster.
"And you've never imagined how, when you can't take any more, I'd make you feel more pleasure than you've ever felt before."
I ran my tongue along my bottom lip in anticipation. Anticipation for a kiss that never came. A let out a small whine as he pulled his face away and released me from his hold. Hearing this he smirked.
"Yeah, that's what I thought," he sighed, looking very frustrated with himself. "Look, you're sweet... But I don't do sweet. Okay? I do broken and desperate and fucked up. It's just easier that way. Good girls always think they can fix me, and then treat me like I'm the bad guy when they get their heart broken in the process. If you know what's good for ya, you won't cross that line. I'm not your Prince Charming, love."
He walked back to his car, leaving me alone at my doorstep, confused and disappointed as he drove off into the night. I shut the front door behind me and threw myself onto the sofa in frustration. Damn, having him that close to me, talking about the things he was had gotten me all worked up. I needed to get that out of my system before the next time I saw him, otherwise I might just have to show him how wrong he was to call me a good girl.
