her second month in the probationary contract starts a little haggard.

sua's tired. she's been working on dancing and trying to fine tune her vocals at the behest of her coaches-- she's reserved practice rooms and vocal rooms just so she didn't have to hear it. sua's not here to cause an issue, she's here to try, and by god, she's trying.

but every time she gets pulled aside and scolded-- okay, maybe not scolded. redirected, rather-- because she's doing fine, but she could always be doing better. it's fifteen minutes of a lecture that sua tries not to let in one ear and out the other, because it will help.

but now she's fifteen minutes late to getting her reserved room. that's time cut into practice time that she could be using, and it's frustrating. she spends most of it burning off her irritation, letting it out in the form of dance.

it's ten minutes until her time's up, and sua wants to use it appropriately, but she's laying on the ground, glaring up at the ceiling as she catches her breath. the door creaks open, and sua scrambles to sit up, head swiveling to stare at the person who peeks in.

"sorry, i've got this room for ten more minutes," she calls out, trying to keep her voice level and as kind as she can manage. sua swallows, raising her brow as she glances at the bag the man totes, then back at him. "you can come in, i guess, but i'm not leaving this spot until my time's up."

there are so many new trainees than there was back then. in sr media, and even roaming around axis on the days yuji's there. she sees the same faces, but new ones are consistently popping up. before when she thought she knew everyone, now she's seeing more faces that she doesn't know more frequently than ones yuji does know.

so when she comes across haneul during open practice at axel, she jumps on the opportunity to approach him. he's been so mia as of late, in the depths of project green. yuji's happy to see a familiar face.

"well, well, well," she muses as she arrives, smile curving on her face as she approaches the other. yuji tilts her head to the side. "you've been busy." they've been doing performance after performance lately. it's no wonder. "i liked siren," she offers at the end.

time flies by. next gen was half a year ago-- more than that, if he actually sits and does his math correctly. he hasn't seen a number of his friends in a bit, and he knows thats natural as life moves on. especially when you're dealing with something as busy as the kpop industry.

so when he and haneul finally meet up, stevie practically clings to him in glee, laughter already bubbling out of him. "haneul~" he sings, his excitement apparent. they have so much to catch up on-- both caught up on working on their own paths.

he fakes a sob, dramatically throwing all of his weight on the other for a split second, before his so called crying breaks out into laughter. stevie straightens up, teeth bared in a grin as he bounces on his heels. "man, you're busy! have have you been? working hard, i bet!" stevie says with a grin. he knows haneul's been packing up performances-- first the axis halloween party, and now the christmas performance; he knows they've been working him down. "kickin' ass, taking names? is that what its called?" he laughs.

The oldest Ninjago Fanfic that I can find is dated December 4th, 2011. This was almost a year after the pilots initially aired and two days after Rise of the Snakes/Home aired.

As you cannot backdate works on fanfiction.net, the date published is the final date. And if no other fic had been there pre-mass deletion of fics in 2012/deleted any time before this moment, this is the first recorded fanfic in the fandom! (At least on ffn.)

The Fanfic in question is Tale of Cole: First of a LEGO Ninjago Trilogy by user TLFScarheart12.

Cole tells Kai about his early training and what he learned after facing a Kaiden.

This is the first of three fanfics in a series, as the title suggests. The other two are about Zane and Jay. (The Jay one even has a mention of an oni in the description!) I took the time to sit down and read this first one, and it is a nice little read!

Cole tells Kai a story about how he was convinced to actually try to be a team with Zane and Jay.

It sort of places Cole in a similar place to where Kai was in the pilots. He's trying to be the best, and in turn, he doesn't accept Zane and Jay's teamwork. SPOILERS: They end up saving him from the kaiden and he eventually learns the importance of teamwork.

For a fic that came out two days after the actual show aired, it works super well, I'd say!! It's a fun little read and a neat tidbit of our fandom's history!! It's also this author's first fanfic on their account, which consists of mostly Ninjago based works!!

everything's been a learning process for her-- figuring out how the company works on top of being shoved into a performance in her first month. what kind of bad luck was that? sua feels like she's been learning a lot, but one thing for sure, with everything going on? she still gets lost in the damn halls.

she's been bouncing between different practice rooms all week-- being directed to different coaches for what she needs to work on next. it's back and forth, and sometimes the room's different. how in the hell is she supposed to remember where anything is if they keep moving things around on her?

when she's finally at her wit's end, she builds up the energy to approach the first person she finds. "excuse me," sua's voice is thin, held together with every bit of her composure not to sound too frustrated or sound too rude. "i'm new and i've been trying to find my practice room, but this place is like a maze."

his eyebrow rose at her request to re-join her in la once her trip ended. he hadn't expected her to ask him to tag along, but the excitement he felt about the possibility put an extra pep into his step. "i think i could manage a trip out to la. i wouldn't want to disappoint tank after all. i know he was pretty excited to see me." he found it difficult to pull his gaze from her. she was just as beautiful as the day he had met her. "i did miss you a whole lot. that kind of thing tends to happen when you spend so much time with someone in such a short period of time. "

as he wandered around the bottom floor of his home to re-introduce her to the layout, his gaze landed on her as she questioned the fact that he had remembered what her favorite snacks were. "there is a lot i remember about you, sweeney. plus, you know that i always aim to please you in whatever way that i can." his comment could have been taken more than one way when it came to their complicated past. anyone with half a brain cell knew that glen would move mountains to do whatever he could for her. the only person who didn't know how much she meant to him was glen himself. he always managed to live in some form of denial when it came to her.

the small talk on their way up to the second floor was easy. it was as if no time had passed between them, and they were as close as they were when they had started filming. he had missed that sense of closeness with her. she had always felt like home to him, and he felt whole having her in arms reach. his left brow rose as she questioned him about her choosing her own room. he had expected some sort of smart remark, but instead she had helped herself to his room and crawled onto the center of the mattress. he swallowed the lump that had formed in the back of his throat, as his lips curled into a smile. "you don't think that's gonna be a conflict of interest? the last time you slept in my bed there wasn't a whole lotta sleepin' happening."

maybe she should question why she felt so nervous. after all she knew glen but seeing him standing in front of her, in his home, felt different. sydney wished that she could say it was just the shock of seeing him after so long but she had the feeling that wasn't it. instead of dwelling on that thought, she focused on the puppy in her arms. a small laugh escaped from her as they headed further into the house," i can't help it, he's just so damn adorable!" under normal circumstances she would have tried to stop him from carrying her luggage in. since she didn't think it was going to be a long visit, she had packed light. plus she knew that if there was something that she needed that she could always go shopping. she continued to pet brisket while holding him, taking a look around," maybe you come back to la with me when i have to go? that way you can visit tank?"

she had no idea why she was proposing he come back with her but it was too late to take it back. instead she focused her attention on him, even as he pointed out how excited brisket was," you must have missed me a whole lot then," she teased," you could try to make your ass wiggle that fast but it might be pointless to try." he was guiding her further into the house which looked just like she remembered. she had wondered if he had changed anything but it didn't seem like he had from what she could see. a smile appeared on her face at the fact that he had already ordered food," i haven't eaten anything today unless you count the protein shake i had this morning, so chinese is great."

he was leading her along and she was happy to let him talk. the blonde went to set brisket down as they walked after he wiggled a bit too much. her head tilted when he pointed out the kitchen and brought up he had bought her favorite snacks," you remember what my favorite snacks are? keep this up and i might not want to go home." together, they made their way up the stairs. she slid her hands into the back pockets of her jeans," office? so official." she was merely teasing still but came to stop when he opened the door to a guest room. she couldn't not miss the fact that he stated it was close to his room. her teeth caught onto her lip as an idea popped in her head," so it's my choice?" she weaved her way around him to the half open door. the blonde nudged it open with her hip before she poked her head in. she didn't dare glance towards glen and instead walked across to perch herself on his bed," i think i'm choosing this one! best room in the house."
