getting raised or healed by a
priest of Berath: there's an oddly ambivalent feeling of logic and certainty to being raised by a priest of Berath– you feel foolish for having been scared of dying because it's so obvious to you now that it wasn't your time yet, but you can't quite shake the feeling that you're living on borrowed time. getting healed by a priest of Berath tends to make one feel rather melancholy for a time afterward, leaving even the rowdiest roustabouts contemplative and somber.
priest of Magran: an intense, fiery determination surges up inside you, and you arise eager to face your next challenge head on. you also feel a flash of extreme heat over the wounded area as the priest's magic heals you. sometimes particularly bad wounds healed by a priest of Magran leave behind a shiny, puffy burn scar.
priest of Eothas: the healing comes on slowly, like the rays of the sun as it rises over the horizon. it's just as warm and invigorating as sunlight too, and you wake up from a rez like you might from a beam of sunlight finding you in your warm, cozy bed, peaceful and content, full of hope, feeling grateful for a second chance, another new day– although you can't help but feel just a little bit sad, too.
priest of Wael: bizarre images and phrases flash through your mind as you try to comprehend what's happening to you while you're being healed, and although you're sure they're all connected somehow, you just can't make sense of your own thoughts at all. sometimes when waking from a rez administered by a priest of Wael, you have a striking revelation about something that's been nagging at you in the back of your mind for years, but then you fully come back to yourself– and you can't, for the life of you, remember what it was.
priest of Skaen: hatred and contempt boil up inside you, and you wake with a burning need for revenge against not only those who harmed you, but against anyone who might wield power over you, oftentimes including even the priest who healed you in the first place. sometimes those healed by a priest of Skaen come back to their senses to find themselves literally licking their own wounds, and the taste of blood doesn't leave their mouth for hours.
priest of Rymrgand: the heal is cold, not like ice soothing a welt, but like rubbing alcohol evaporating off of your skin. sometimes instead of knitting the edges of a gaping wound together and revitalizing them, the skin surrounding the wound bloats and festers before withering and falling off, revealing the healed flesh beneath. being raised by a priest of Rymrgand is a harrowing ordeal, for to evade death at the whim of the Beast is to tremble helpless beneath his hoof for a time before he finally snorts and looks away, choosing to savor your soul another day. one tends to wake from a rez chilled to the bone, an oppressive weight on their shoulders and the stench of rot caught deep in the back of their throat.
paladin: fills your mind with thoughts, images, and/or feelings related to the paladin's object of zeal, eg. a Brother of the Five Suns laying hands on you makes the faces of the Ducs Bels flash before your mind's eye, and you feel a burst of awe and respect for the Vailian Republics; being raised by a Bleak Walker has you waking up with a brief but overpowering feeling of cold determination to kill every single person on the battlefield who'd dare raise a hand in violence against you or any other kith.
chanter: the events detailed in the chant used to raise or heal you play out in your head as you come back to your senses or feel your wounds close up. a common joke amongst seasoned adventurers is to tease one another about how well they recall the plot or lyrics to Rise Again, Rise Again, Scions of Adon!/...And Face Your Foes (implying they're very familiar with it from having heard it so often due to needing to be rezzed frequently).

Renee Walker & Jean Moreau Dynamic
No matter what they end up as, the relationship between Renee and Jean, either platonic or romantic, is always going to be one of my favorites.
Its one of the ships that I don't exactly find myself yearning to see get together, one that feels precious as long as that connection exists.
Renee gave Jean a phone number, Jean felt safe enough to contact her and she managed to make that broken boy keep writing to him too. Jean thanked her, for what we don't know, but he was ready.
He knew that he probably wouldn't make it, he expected to die that day, alone and bleeding on the floor and he didn't want to die without telling her 'thank you'. He had to let her know just how much it meant to him.
That mere thank you reminded her of Neil Josten and how the butcher had come too close to tearing him from them, and now it was the same once again, just a different person.
Renee told him, without using much words, that he would make it. She was maybe the first one to act on it too and try to save him.
And she succeeded.
Maybe they won't end together, but it's never going to change the fact that she had probably been the first ray of sunshine he had been exposed to in a long time during the time that he had been stuck in the Nest.
He might have to relearn everything he had known till now, might have to struggle more than he had till now (just in a different way) and he might have to do it alone as he learns what it means to love himself.
It's never going to change the fact that she pulled him out of that hellhole and gave him a chance to save himself.
Showed him a glimpse of hope, and he took it.

ML Fanfic Recs for 2023: 125K+ Words
So I’ve been going through and adding particularly good fics I’ve read throughout the year. Only Complete fics, of course. Enjoy!
---
Dreams of You by @chocoluckchipz
Dreams had long been his only escape. Dreams of Ladybug, the girl who had always been there for him.
If only in his dreams. And only while she was also sleeping.
Because with the first rays of sunshine gliding over her skin, with the first fluttering of her eyelashes, from the moment she opened her eyes in the morning, memories of Adrien would vanish from her mind.
She would go on living her life.
He would always be the only one who remembered.
At least until they meet in the real world and fall in love all over again, something that would’ve been easier to do if Adrien wasn't a prisoner in his own home.
Chocoluckchipz has some of the most beautifully executed lovesquare fics I’ve read, and this is no exception. Most of the fic is dedicated to Adrien wooing Marinette, spending time with her, with her own dream self acting as his wingman, giving her tips on how to get her to fall for him, all the while frustrated that she can’t share memories with her waking self, and that she and Adrien can’t share as much information as they’d like while asleep, due to limitations of the “curse” that allows Adrien to share dreams with his soulmate.
It’s not all cute Adrienette fluff though. There’s a threat in the background waiting to erupt, as the weirdness of Gabriel’s ultimatum to Adrien about finding Ladybug or else being forced to marry Lila keeps on gnawing at him - and with good reason. This is a world with magic and kwamis still, and that fact makes itself very relevant in the last third of the story.
It’s a well-written tale and very much worth a read!

one does not love breathing by @wackus-bonkus-maximus
All of Paris watched as Hawkmoth murdered Chat Noir, taking the Black Cat Miraculous for himself. Ladybug swears revenge, but her enemy—and every miraculous in his possession—disappear without a trace.
Six years later, a new team of villains launches an attack for the last remaining Miraculous: Volpina, armed with new powers; Queen Bee, with questionable loyalty; Argos, the new holder of the Peacock Miraculous; and Cat Walker, who Ladybug hates the most.
Takes place after S4 - Strike Back.
This is a simply phenomenal fic. You get to explore a lot of different perspectives, like Felix, Kagami, Marinette, and Adrien’s, just to name a few, and see their different thought processes and plans and priorities, and how it can cause their plans to collide with each other, even when they all ultimately are aiming for a good outcome for everyone. The characters are pretty complex and can mess up at times, even when they’re doing things (or not doing things, looking at you Luka) with the best of intentions. It was a joy to read and a real nail-biter the whole time, I actually wrote a fic for it halfway through just to resolve some of the tension for myself, One Does Not Love Shadows.
It also features the version of Luka I’ve connected best with to date, as he feels like Luka, but also is a lot more fleshed out, and can make some major errors while simply trying to avoid missteps. It’s helped me get a better handle on a character who I’ve generally had a lot of problems with really understanding.
It is an M-rated fic, though I think Wackus is being overly cautious on that front. There’s no sexual content and I wouldn’t put the violence or gore above a T-rating, so I wouldn’t let the rating scare you off.

Boomer!Luka: FeLuka Ending series by @19thsentry-blog
In the Shadows (the first fic in the series) summary:
On one side is Luka, 140-year-old Snake Miraculous holder and keeper of the Guardian's secrets, on the other is Marinette Dupain-Cheng, a relatively newly minted hero of Paris and Guardian of the Miracle Box. Each is looking to fulfill their promises to their now gone mentors to reunite the Kwamis and keep them safe. Sounds simple--until you throw in a rocky start, the Atlantic Ocean, Félix Graham de Vanily, and a whole host of secrets…and suddenly simple becomes complicated (story of Marinette's life, right?).
So this is obviously way outside my normal wheelhouse. I don’t typically read Lukanette fics, even ones that turn into FeLuka later on in the series (though boy it becomes apparent quickly that the author’s fascinated with FeLuka’s dynamic.) But this one is really good, with the best Luka-centric fics I’ve ever read, and some of the best Felix-centric content as well. I love how Luka has his own baggage here, with all the pressure of wandering around for over a century, looking after the few Miraculous he found, trying to keep what’s left of the Order alive, unaware of Fu’s survival or of the Miraculous user’s re-emergence in Paris. There’s a lot of focus on Luka’s own feelings and thoughts and problems, not just on helping other people with them.
The plot works even without the romantic aspect, so even if Lukanette isn’t a pairing that draws you in, I still recommend this fic, so long as you don’t actively dislike the pairing itself. And even though it’s a Lukanette fic, Adrien and Alya are treated fairly and with respect. Adrien may not end up with Marinette and is bummed about it, but the narrative is still kind to him overall, there’s clearly no ill well towards him, or Alya for that matter. (There are later fics in the series that focus more on Adrien just healing and coping and living after finding out that his father’s a villain and his mom’s been in the basement this whole time, and in the multiversal travel fic, Alya gets some standout appearances as Scarabella which are fun).
And FELIX - it’s clear that 19thsentry has this whole conception about Felix’s psychology. He’s wrapped in a ton of self-loathing until it started to consume him, made him lash out. Him being a sentimonster, wanting to get the Peacock Miraculous, actually gave him some direction for that at least. And he’s just in this pit of his own making, until he meets Luka, who can see through him when no one else can, who cares for him even though he doesn’t understand why, who’d been through so much over the years and yet kept himself kind. He’s attracted like a moth to a flame, infuriated that he cares, yet not able to stop himself from caring about this mysterious, infuriating musician.
Yeah if you can’t tell this is the series that really sold me on FeLuka as a couple.
Oh yeah, one of the fics in here is M-rated, and it does earn the M rating for sexual content, though it’s nothing too major.

Accidents Are Also Miracles by @liiinerle
After a few turbulent days where four new people discover her secret identity, Marinette loses faith in her ability to keep the secret hidden. Wracked with doubts and insecurities, she pleads with Alya to take over as Scarabella, but she still can't let those worries go. Especially not once Monarch starts taking a particular, and personal, interest in her.
Along the way, she also starts to date Kagami, and has to deal with changing feelings about herself, Adrien, Alya, Kagami, and the idea of being Ladybug. At the same time, Alya works to uncover Monarch's secret identity, while Kagami struggles against a controlling parent, and a girlfriend who seems bent on destroying herself - with or without Monarch's involvement.
Fantastic Marigami fic here! You’ve got three major POVs in this fic: Marinette, Kagami, and to my delight, Alya. I loved getting to see Alya cope with taking over as Scarabella especially.
But of course, this fic centers more around Marinette and Kagami, with Marinette struggling with Monarch targeting her, and Kagami struggling against her abusive parent, as well as both of them trying to navigate their relationship together when they know that not everyone will approve.
There’s also some other plots going on in here, like Sabrina breaking away from Chloe and becoming more independent (and closer to Adrien in fact), as well as a Lila takedown plot, though thankfully not one that involves demonizing other characters. While there are conversations about people believing Lila and siding with her, no one’s actually attacked for it except for Lila herself.
Oh yeah, and while this fic may not have much focus on Adrien, he’s still treated fairly and with respect, even when he messes up. He can make mistakes, but people understand where he’s coming from, and are still kind to him and want things to be okay, and to help him escape his abusive circumstances.

Awaken by InkyIbis
The previously white butterfly, now oozing black and purple as a conduit of the butterfly miraculous powers, flutters softly within the silvered-gloved hand.
It sits there for a long time.
"Go, my akuma," The soft sigh pushes the butterfly, the akuma, out towards the despair of a love not returned. The same ache within his chest. On a level so great that he's willing to sacrifice the city to mend it.
It's okay if he's the villain for now. He'll force the miraculous of creation and destruction to be revealed, and once he gets his hands on them, none of this pain, none of his loss, will ever happen.
This is essentially a canon rewrite for Miraculous (specifically seasons 1 and 2, with a bunch of the events mixed around) that focuses primarily on Adrien, with his relationship with Nino being the main driving relationship of the fic. (Don’t worry, Marinette’s still treated fine, she’s just not the focus). This is the best “rewrite Miraculous with more of a focus on Adrien” type fic I’ve seen, with it reworking the plots of the episodes so that they’re different enough to be their own distinct thing - it’s not trying to just rewrite the canon episodes but from Adrien’s POV, there’s a lot of lore changes going on as well, and things occur in different orders.
Like lorewise, Chat’s given a more important role in cleaning up the mess the akumas leave, with his power helping to cleanse akuma victims and he and Ladybug needing to use their powers in tandem in order to cast Miraculous Ladybug. There’s also no Miracle Box holding the kwamis. Instead, Chat sometimes surpasses his limits and ends up summoning kwamis, which is dangerous to him, but very useful.
What really makes this fic great though, is its focus on Adrien’s emotions. You really get a feel for Adrien’s insecurities, especially when it comes to not feeling like he’s good enough for Nino, with not wanting to bother him when he absolutely should, with feeling like he’s not a good enough friend to him, and then there’s dealing with all of Gabriel’s usual abuse on top of that.
Speaking of Nino, this is an Adrino fic (though several characters get crushes on Adrien, Nino’s the one who matters most for this), though a slowburn one. Nino’s clearly head-over-heels for Adrien, but Adrien has like, no context for what a romantic crush feels like and is basically viewing Nino the way he viewed Marinette in canon prior to season 5. He clearly cares for him a lot, including romantically, he just... doesn’t get it.
Anyway, if you want an interesting canon rewrite fic from Adrien’s perspective with Adrino as the main pairing, this is a good story to pick up!

Kintsugi - The Beauty Of Broken Things by @xaran-alamas
When freed from Mayura's control, and given a chance at a normal life, the Sentimonster clone of Ladybug must learn what it is to be not only a hero, but also a human being, and part of a family.
Meanwhile Marinette needs to figure out what to do with a hyper-energetic Kwami with a broken Miraculous.
Sentibug-centric fic here! The longest one in existence, in fact. Xaran does a great job of developing Centi, having her figure out what she wants and how to belong, and also deal with her feelings towards her creator - which are pretty negative since, you know, Mayura tried to kill her. The way she’s developed is excellent, and I adore her fitting into the Couffaine family after they take her in, with Juleka, Luka, and Anarka taking a shine to her quickly, and her to them. We spend a lot of time with the Couffaines as a result, so it’s also worth reading if you want to see more of that family, especially Juleka.
---
you made me a hero - reverse crush short stories series by @non-fantasy
This series is just plain fun! Like the title says, it’s a reverse crush AU, so Adrien’s head-over-heels for Marinette, while Ladybug’s smitten with Chat Noir. Which means that Adrien’s constantly trying to woo Marinette while Ladybug’s attempting to have normal conversations with Chat Noir (and failing), and both of them are oblivious to each other’s feelings.
I love the way non-fantasy executes it, with Alya literally carrying around a spray bottle because of how eager Adrien is, and Ladybug being VERY SCARY if you ever lay a finger on Chat Noir (seriously akumas will literally beg for their akumatized object to be broken just to escape her wrath).
Oh, also, Ladybug regularly stops by Adrien’s room so they can both lament how difficult of a time they’re having wooing their crushes, and just have fun together.
There’s a lot of entries in this series - 29 of them in fact - but most of them are pretty short, making it great if you want to devour some quick, cute, hilarious romcom action!
Some stuff does actually change over the course of the series, it’s not just slice-of-life. Like identity reveals, dating, and even Hawkmoth’s defeat, so there’s clear progression and changes in circumstances as well.

Not a Monster at All by @book-sandwich
Adrien Agreste overhears a conversation he shouldn't, and a revelation sends him falling onto the terrace of the only person he can trust: his good friend (?) Marinette Dupain-Cheng.
Takes place sometime after the first two episodes of season 5!
As you can probably guess from the title, this is a Sentimonster Adrien, Monarch takedown fic. Adrien’s going through a tough time, and Marinette’s just trying to be there for him as his whole world’s collapsing around him. Unfrotunately, they still don’t know what the object is, or how likely Gabriel would be to control Adrien if he hinted that he knew the truth, which leaves Adrien in a precarious position - still not having done an identity reveal doesn’t help matters.
It’s a really solid fic for the genre, though since it started up before the later parts of season 5, there are a few things that don’t match up with the canon information we obtained later on.
---
Under Oath by @eoscenes
In the aftermath of Hawk Moth's defeat, Ladybug finds her heart torn between her schoolgirl crush and her superhero partner ― who returns, after an unexplained hiatus, more irresistible than ever.
⋆☆⋆
Gabriel Agreste is unmasked, and Paris rises up in the aftermath.
Marinette Dupain-Cheng must weather Paris' anxious protesters, ravenous reporters, a scattered team of judiciary investigators, and her conflicting feelings for two different boys. In the eye of this storm is the elusive Adrien Agreste, the primary witness in his own father's trial, who might just hold the secret to finding the Peacock Miraculous.
(If only she wasn't in love with him.)
Meanwhile, locked away in Le Grand Paris hotel, Adrien grapples with his responsibilities to a city that can't decide if it hates or loves him. Keeping his daytime persona and Chat Noir separate entities becomes even harder when Ladybug, whom he has finally decided to get over, starts visiting him at night, determined to figure his secrets out.
(If only he wasn't in love with her.)
When an unknown figure returns with the Peacock Miraculous, Ladybug and Chat Noir will have to save their city once more — or lose each other trying.
I love how this fic shows Adrien just breaking down over the reveal of Hawk Moth’s identity, he’s in a Very Bad Place for a substantial portion of the fic, and being a suspect and witness in the case does NOT help. It’s got the most detailed “Adrien suffering the consequences of the backlash to his father’s prosecution” plot that I’ve seen.
Still, things get better with time, slowly, gradually. It’s not all at once, or a completely linear road, but he’s got his friends, even after everything.

Uncharted Hearts
fem!Reader x Kelly(twd)
summary: you realize that you’re maybe not feeling just friendly feelings toward Kelly
WC: 1.066
The world had turned dark and unforgiving, but amidst the chaos, a ray of light emerged – Kelly. She had been your rock since the outbreak began, a loyal friend who stood by your side through every perilous journey in The Walking Dead universe. The two of you had an unbreakable bond, and you'd never questioned it until now.
As you sat by the campfire one quiet evening, watching the flickering flames dancing in the night, your mind wandered back to memories of your long-standing friendship with Kelly. Her warm smile, unwavering support, and unwritten understanding had always been there, but lately, you found yourself drawn to her in ways you couldn't comprehend.
In that tranquil moment by the campfire, the flames seemed to mirror the turmoil within your heart. Memories of your adventures together flashed before your eyes – the dangerous encounters with walkers, the close calls with rival groups, and the nights you both huddled together for warmth and comfort. Through it all, Kelly had been your anchor, the one constant in an ever-changing world.
But now, as you gazed at her, you noticed a new layer to her presence. The softness in her eyes, the subtle tenderness in her touch – they were like puzzle pieces falling into place, revealing a deeper connection that had always been there but hidden in the shadows of friendship.
Questions swirled in your mind, grappling with emotions you had never experienced before. Were these feelings a result of the chaotic circumstances, or had they been simmering beneath the surface, waiting for the right moment to surface? You found yourself lost in a labyrinth of uncertainty, trying to navigate through uncharted territory.
As you watched Kelly by the fire's warm glow, you recalled the moments when her laughter had filled the air, echoing through the darkness. How it felt like a symphony, harmonizing with your own heartbeats. You had always admired her resilience, her unwavering courage, but now, you realized that your admiration had grown into something more profound.
Her presence had always been a source of strength, but tonight, it felt different. The weight of unspoken words hung in the air, and you found yourself yearning to share the truth, to open up about the whirlwind of emotions swirling within you.
But fear gnawed at the edges of your vulnerability. What if she didn't feel the same way? What if confessing your feelings changed everything, and you lost the precious friendship you cherished?
In the next few days, you found yourself observing Kelly more closely, noticing the subtle gestures of affection she directed towards you. She'd brush her fingers against yours during a shared laugh, or her eyes would linger just a moment longer when she looked at you. It was as if she was trying to tell you something without saying a word.
One night, as you both stood guard on watch duty, the tension between you became palpable.
Kelly's presence beside you felt both comforting and unsettling at the same time. Her unwavering loyalty and camaraderie had always been the pillars of your friendship, but tonight, there was an unspoken current pulling you closer, like magnets drawn together.
You stole glances at her, trying to decipher the emotions playing on her features, but her face was a mask of calm, belying the whirlwind of feelings within. And just when you thought the tension might become unbearable, she broke the silence, leaning in ever so slightly.
Her voice, soft and gentle like a whispered secret, danced on the edge of the night air, "You know, I've always treasured our friendship. It means the world to me."
Her words hung in the air like a fragile melody, each syllable leaving a lasting echo. Your heart quickened, and you knew this was the moment to bare your soul. The weight of the unspoken truth had become too heavy to carry any longer, and with a mixture of trepidation and hope, you took a deep breath and responded, "Kelly, I feel the same way. More than that, I think... I might be falling for you."
The revelation seemed to take even you by surprise, as if the words had escaped your lips before your mind could fully comprehend them. Yet, there was a sense of relief in finally acknowledging what had been silently blooming within you.
Kelly's eyes widened in astonishment, and her cheeks flushed with a gentle rosy hue. The vulnerability in her expression mirrored your own, and it was evident that this moment had taken both of you by storm. She took a moment to process your confession, and you felt your heart pounding in your chest, waiting for her response.
"Really?" she breathed, her voice barely above a whisper, and you could see the flicker of uncertainty mingling with the spark of hope in her eyes. "I've had feelings for you for a while, but I didn't want to risk our friendship."
Her honesty resonated with you, and you understood the weight of her reservations. The delicate balance of your relationship had always been a source of comfort, and the idea of losing that left you with a mix of fear and longing. But there was something undeniable between you, something worth exploring, and you couldn't let the chance slip away.
With a tender smile, you reached out and gently cupped her cheek in your hand, your thumb grazing softly against her skin. "I don't want to lose our friendship either," you admitted, your voice trembling with raw emotions. "But I can't ignore these feelings any longer. Maybe we can take it one step at a time, together, and see where it leads us?"
Her eyes softened, and she leaned into your touch, savoring the connection between you. "I'd like that," she whispered, her voice now filled with a mix of relief and excitement. "It's scary, but I'm willing to take that chance with you."
In that moment, you felt like the stars above had aligned, granting you both the courage to step into the uncharted territory of love. The night wrapped around you like a warm embrace, and the world outside faded away, leaving only the two of you standing there, hand in hand, hearts entwined in a dance of possibility and hope. As the night unfolded, you knew that whatever challenges the post-apocalyptic world had in store, facing them together with Kelly would make the journey worthwhile

Hi! This is for the wip ask game… I humbly request literally anything from the charlieverse… loved the series and I am starving for more!!
Hey friend! I'm gonna go 'head and give you this 700ish word thing I wrote for a Whumpuary 2023 prompt "failed escape / nightmares." I like it but I've never really found a spot for it within the larger story, so it's been sitting in my google drive for a while. CW for blood/gore.
If you're interested in looking at my WIP list and asking about it for the game, original post is here!
She was running, running through her family's home, and she could swear the back door was this way, but the hallways just kept going. She kept popping out into the main hall, and every time she did more people were looking at her, reaching for her. The third time she sprinted through the main hall a couple people grabbed at her, but the blood covering her bare arms made her slippery, so she wrenched herself free and kept searching desperately for an exit.
She turned a corner and found herself in the pantry, how on earth did she get to the pantry, and her father's pale corpse slumped crooked against the shelf, blood still oozing slowly from his neck. His pale eyes gazed out, empty and yet somehow still full of rage. Charlie tried to back out of the pantry without turning her back on the corpse, but several, no dozens, no hundreds of hands were on her, crushing her arms, her legs, her stomach, her throat. She tried to scream but couldn't take a breath in. She thrashed against the hands that were digging bruises into her flesh. Someone was calling her name.
The scene changed and she was standing on the deck of the Revenge, a uniformed firing squad taking aim at her chest. "For the crime of murder," a voice came from somewhere above, "You, Charlotte Walker, are sentenced to death." Charlie strained helplessly against the ties binding her wrists.
Someone was shaking her. Someone was calling her name. She pushed and punched against whatever was in front of her.
"Fuck's sake Charlie, wake up!" Charlie opened her eyes to a blur of grey beard and pale, scarred skin. In that same instant she gained control of her body and brought one knee up to connect with whatever it was that was shaking her. There was a grunt of pain and Izzy Hands stopped shaking her to curl around his gut, where her knee had just connected quite soundly.
“Oh fuck,” Charlie croaked through tears, reaching now for him with open hands instead of the fist she had been aiming in his direction. “Shit, shit, I’m sorry –”
He stopped her with a firm hand to the center of her chest, holding her at bay while he breathed deeply and held his stomach. Charlie watched him with wide eyes and tried to remember where she was and why she was waking up next to the first mate. The events of the afternoon came back to her in a rush. The quiet lunch, his hand brushing against hers on the table, her thigh pressing against his under the table. Going up to his rented room – oh that’s where she was, okay, she knew where she was. Over Izzy’s bare shoulder, the window showed the last red rays of sunset.
Now that the man was uncurling and breathing normally, Charlie placed her hand over his where it pressed against her breastbone. “I’m so sorry, I don’t usually have nightmares like that, I thought you were attacking me –”
“It’s fine,” Izzy sighed, opening his eyes to speak. The golden-brown color of them was mesmerizing in the light of dusk that came in through the window. “And yes, you do have nightmares like that, quite frequently in fact.”
She wiped her eyes on the sleeve of her shirt – Izzy’s shirt? Whatever shirt she was wearing. “What are you talking about?”
“At least as long as I’ve been on the Revenge, you have two or three a week. With the screaming, anyway.” He shrugged.
“What – why doesn’t anyone ever wake me up?” Charlie demanded.
“I was told the first and only time someone tried that, Frenchie got socked in the nose,” Izzy said, “After that they decided to let you sleep through them.” He absentmindedly brushed his fingers through her hair, sending tingles down Charlie’s spine. It stopped all thought for a moment, until his words sunk in.
“I punched Frenchie? Oh my god,” she rolled onto her back, away from Izzy’s touch, and covered her face with her hands. “No wonder they all treat me like their little sister, I’m having nightmares in the group sleeping area.”
“Oh, you love being the little sister,” Izzy drawled. She removed her hands from her face to glare over at him.
"I take back my apology for hitting you," she sniffed. He rolled his eyes.

plots please
⤏ send me “plots please”
And I'll respond with  3  (or more)  interesting  plots / relationships / connections  I can think of for our muses! saving the best for last because heheheh cheetor my BOI fr, this is more ramblings on how they'd vibe verse wise with like,,, vague plot ideas SERIOUSLY we need to write at somepoint
VERSE #1 : Cyberverse
Ultimately the simplest of all aus. Its giving silly guys. its giving "You don't remember me but i remember you so why would i give up on you so quickly?" Cyberverse cherr is definitely the most cheeky and playful of all her variants, and i like to think that maybe cherr and cheetor were friends during their time on the arc before he sacrificed himself and them promptly came back to life
VERSE #2 : Beast wars
What happens if you put a reckless cheetah and a thrill seeking bird in one room? Fun and chaos probably. For BW these two give me the unlikely duo that show actually never be given a mission together cause sure they'll get it done nice and neat but there's a 50% chance something might go wrong, no matter how well they mean.
VERSE #3 : IDW
You say leader of the fur walkers? I offer you bodyguard cherr plot in these trying times. Maybe he's assigned an escort while on a diplomatic mission to cybertron from eukaris, and their both attempting to be serious before realising the other probably doesn't care! OR MAYBE cherr is sent to eukaris in place of her employer and she gets to learn and have over there who knows hehehhe
VERSE #4 : TFA
What happens if you put too overconfident rays of sunshine who get into trouble more then they should into a room? Who knows wanna find out? honestly i feel like this would have some what similar vibe compared to the best wars dynamic if it were for a few key points: A) beloved cherr is "human" and must be carried around like a kitten, B) while confident and vaguely trouble making, cherr is slightly more experienced in life shit in this au. honestly idk what i was going with here but cherr + cheetor dynamic but add a (human) twist to it for funzies

You guys I spent too much time randomly browsing Instagram yesterday and ended up having the coolest dream EVER.
It was Percy Jackson (2023) x Live action Httyd (2025). And it was freaking GOOD.
Listen listen listen - think a large, fantastical Roman/Greek city bustling with life. At its edge, picture Httyd2's dragon racing setup mixed with a huge, beautiful colosseum-like war arena. The design is a harmless, fictional movie aesthetic but it's BIG FUN. There are lots of colorful flags and banners, lots of ropes and nets hanging everywhere, and the atmosphere is roaring and excited like a stadium at the world cup. Behind the walls of the arena, what's meant to be the Mediterranean but absolutely looks like a dreamy tropical sea, stretches endlessly into the horizon.
Walker Scobell is young Hiccup, Leah Jeffries is young Astrid. The teens have always been good friends. Now they're late to the dragon training festival and are hurrying there to make it. They know they have to fight each other first and then the captive dragons of the city to determine who will get to slay which dragon at the end. The final face-off is supposed to be a sort of meet-your-match arrangement, an almost sacred encounter between each human and the dragon that challenges them best. A fierce bond of mutual respect and hatred is supposed to develop between the human and their special dragon, locking them in an equal and deeply personal match of life and death in the final round. Only one can ever make it out alive. It's meant to earn them their place in society. If the teen wins, they are showered with the honor and glory and the rights of a warrior, if the dragon wins, its ability to survive is just as respected and it gets released back into the wild.
The pre-show has Alexandra Daddario looking like older Httyd2 Astrid, while her name remains Annabeth, absolutely toying with multiple dragons. She is the city's famous dragon warrior champion fighting simultaneously against one or two Hideous Zipplebacks, a Monstrous Nightmare, and several water dragons. She bests them all. Maybe she's younger Astrid's older sister. Young Astrid aspires to be like her. At one time, Httyd2 Astrid-Annabeth puts out a Nightmare's fire with her dripping wet, gorgeous long, blonde hair. Doesn't even hesitate. The crowd goes bananas. (This looked so cool in my dream - like she was mopping up fire with her hair. Since it was soaking wet from the water, that somehow didn't do any damage lol. Dream logic, bwahaha)
Now, all the dragons in their cages look like massive beasts, a mix of bears, beavers, walruses and really bad dragon CGI from the 90s. Except the Monstrous Nightmare which looks normal, which is no surprise if you know me of course. Toothless is held captive there too. He's an old dragon whose shape looks more like a manta ray in this non-animated version of events.
He and Hiccup have already singled out each other to face in final combat. Yet already there's also kindness connecting them. The old dragon and the young child have too much mercy for each other's fate to give hatred and ferocity and the bit much effort. So when it's Hiccup's turn to enter the ring...and Toothless is already waiting for him there... Hiccup chooses to enter the arena from a jumping plank above. Why? Because he can also "accidentally", conveniently open the dragon release hatch from there. He does it, Toothless shoots out from under him - and Hiccup JUMPS, perfectly landing on his back, the audience gasps, and - Hiccup and Toothless fly out of the arena together and soar over the endless, turquoise, tropical summer sea. Until they cannot be seen from afar anymore.
Toothless is so old he can't fly for long, and he sets Hiccup down in some shallows of these warm, beautiful, tropical ocean waters. He then introduces Hiccup to young Toothless, who is actually his grandson, and asks him to protect him. Hiccup promises to do so. Old Toothless goes away to die peacefully, and young Toothless and Hiccup become the best buds we all know and love.
Cue Walker-Scobell-Hiccup and young Toothless bringing peace and friendship to Greek-Roman-Colosseum Berk with young Leah-Jeffries-Astrid's help. Behind Httyd2-Astrid-Annabeth's back, naturally, because she is the one who doesn't approve it out of tradition and because it might threaten her status as the beloved hero of the city. Love it. Lol. Makes perfect sense, doesn't it??????
Idk I really loved this story concept!!!
If you made it all the way down here, thanks for reading!

A Passel Of Curious Cincinnati Street Names, Part One (A to E)
Annwood Street (East Walnut Hills) Most Cincinnati streets that memorialize people recognize men, but there are several honoring women. Anne (Bryan) Wood (1780-1867), for whom this street and a connecting lane is named, is also responsible for the nearby Wold Street, named for her estate. A native of England, Mrs. Wood and her husband James arrived early in Cincinnati and made a fortune in merchandizing. Their daughter Ellen married Judge Timothy Walker, one of the founders of the Cincinnati Law School. Although she died 30 years previously, warm memories inspired the neighboring community to preserve her name through the street signs.
Arcadia Place (Hyde Park) Soon after this 47-lot subdivision was platted in 1916, the new residents formed a neighborhood association that survived for decades. Every family on the street was automatically enrolled in The Arcadians, an organization devoted to fostering neighborhood pride. The Arcadians sponsored annual Halloween and Christmas parties as well as regular gatherings. They elected officers annually. When the subdivision was first constructed, none of the houses had addresses, so the Post Office refused to deliver mail. The residents adopted addresses based on the lot number of the parcel on which they had built their houses, so today’s addresses don’t match the standard city system.
Back Street (Over-the-Rhine) When Back Street was first scratched out of the northern reaches of the city, it was literally a “back street,” and that is apparently how it got its name. That’s according to Ray Steffens, a Cincinnati Post reporter who penned an invaluable series of articles, “How Was It Named?” that are treasured by local history buffs. So invaluable are these articles that they were collected by a dedicated librarian at the Cincinnati Public Library, where they occasioned a bit of a literary spat. Steffens pooh-poohed the idea that Hamilton-born novelist Fannie Hurst drew any connection between Cincinnati’s Back Street and the titular “Back Street” of her 1931 best-selling pot boiler. Apparently, on one of her trips through Cincinnati, Miss Hurst paged through the library’s scrapbook of Steffens’ columns, because this handwritten note is scrawled through the clipping for Back Street: “Not correct. Miss Hurst researched here, because I am Miss Hurst.”
Tumblr media
Belsaw Place (Clifton) For reasons perhaps known only to the family, the estate of Thomas Sherlock in Clifton was named Belsaw and was uniformly praised for its beauty by the newspapers of the day. Mr. Sherlock immigrated from Ireland and made a fortune in Ohio River shipping and insurance. He died in 1895. Two years later, a short street on the southern side of Ludlow was renamed Sherlock Avenue in his honor. (Sorry, Baker Street Irregulars!) When Thomas’ widow, Nancy, died in 1899, the rural estate in north Clifton was bequeathed to the couple’s five daughters along with all the jewels, horses, carriages and artwork. When the estate was subdivided in 1921, it was announced as the “most exclusive” development in the city, with no houses allowed to be constructed for less than $20,000.
Boudway Lane (Westwood) Perhaps the most maladroit street name in all of Cincinnati sprang from the unrelenting necessity of police paperwork. Right on the border of Westwood and West Price Hill lies a minuscule stretch of pavement with no addresses, but lots of traffic accidents. In the early 1990s, the police appealed to the city’s public works department to slap a name on this anonymous wreck magnet. Since the tiny strip of asphalt, no more than 250 feet long, connected Boudinot Avenue and Glenway, the poets at City Hall coughed up a portmanteau word and christened it Boudway Lane. A few years later, the dolorous Boudway was subsumed as an extension of the equally mellifluous Glenhills Way.
Calhoun Street (Corryville) In 1843, John C. Calhoun, United States Senator from South Carolina, was very popular among the Democrats of Cincinnati. A proponent of states’ rights and limited government, Calhoun fiercely defended slavery and the interests of white supremacy. A group of Cincinnati Democratic businessmen wrote a public letter to Calhoun that year, inviting him to visit Cincinnati. One of the signers of the invitation was William Corry (1811-1880), among the children of William Corry (1778-1833) who owned all the land that was later known as Corryville. The southern boundary of Corry's property was a road named Calhoun Street in the 1840s, apparently in homage to the Southern firebrand.
Camargo Road (Madeira) A lot of folks, mostly men, are memorialized in Cincinnati street names. We have lots of streets named for presidents, governors, generals, businessmen, property owners and so on. Camargo Road – although its origins remain somewhat obscure – is likely the only street in this area named for a ballerina. Marie Anne de Cupis de Camargo (1710-1770) was known as “La Camargo” and lived the extravagant life of an Eighteenth-Century sex symbol. She was the first ballerina to wear slippers instead of heeled shoes and she is often credited with adopting the shortened skirt for the stage. As her name indicates, she had Spanish roots – Camargo is a very small village in northern Spain – but indications are that it is the dancer, not the municipality, that gave its name to our road.
Carrel Street (Columbia-Tusculum) When Columbia was annexed by Cincinnati, that venerable old town (older than Cincinnati) had its own Main Street and, of course, that duplicate name had to go. Reaching into history, the city fathers renamed the street in honor of Hercules Carrel, a legendary boat builder, whose operations were based nearby. Mr. Carrel also had a riverboat named in his honor, but don’t you wish the city would have named that street for his first name? Hercules Street! Now, there’s a name to be reckoned with!
Catawba Valley Drive (Columbia-Tusculum) Readers of Dann Woellert’s exhaustive history of Cincinnati winemaking know that most hillsides on the north bank of the Ohio were given over to vineyards in the decades before the Civil War. That was certainly true in the area around Alms Park. One remnant of those long-gone vines is a little street named Catawba Valley Drive, honoring the Catawba grapes that once grew here. At one time, Wine Press Road ran nearby, but was later incorporated into Alms Park.
Cross Lane (Walnut Hills) Walnut Hills was platted by the Reverend James Kemper, pioneering Presbyterian minister, who built his own residence there in 1794. That log house is now preserved at the Heritage Village Museum inside Sharon Woods Park. As an energetically religious man, naming a street after the cross would not be unusual, but Kemper’s intentions had nothing to do with his proselytizing zeal. He named all his east-west streets “Cross Lane” and numbered them. The only lane retaining that designation was originally named “Cross Lane No. 1.”
Dublin Court (Dillonvale) It’s a mystery why Cincinnati’s annual Saint Patrick’s Day shenanigans aren’t scheduled out in Dillonvale. Joseph Dillon, a proud son of the Auld Sod, platted the Sycamore Township community that he would christen with his own name in 1951. He remembered his birthplace by naming streets for Dublin, Belfast, Antrim, Killarney, Wicklow, Donegal, Wexford, and Limerick, and that’s no Blarney!
Tumblr media
Elberon (Price Hill) With the popularity of J.R.R. Tolkein’s fantasy novels in the 1960s, folks could be excused for believing that this street was named for some elvish prince. In fact, capitalizing on that association a (very good) Cincinnati folk-rock group took Elberon as their band name. The actual origin of this street traces to the assassination of President James A. Garfield in 1881. After being shot in Washington, DC, Garfield was moved to Elberon, New Jersey, along the Atlantic shore, where it was hoped sea breezes would help him heal. That treatment failed and Garfield died in Elberon. Cincinnati was devoted to Garfield and commissioned a statue, still standing on Vine Street. Boyle Avenue was renamed Elberon in 1889, shortly after the statue was installed. Which only begs the question: How was the New Jersey town named? Turns out it has nothing to do with elves, nor (as believed for a long time) Native Americans. “Elberon” is a contraction of L.B. Brown, among the early settlers of that little seaside resort.
Eppert Walk (Mount Washington) Josephine R. “Josie” Eppert was 60 years old when she died in 1939. She had been a schoolteacher her entire adult life and was beloved by generations of children who attended Mount Washington Elementary School. She lived at the corner of Plymouth and Oxford avenues and walked home along a footpath that was later paved. Clifton Merriman, local real estate broker, suggested memorializing Miss Eppert by placing her name on the route she had traveled for decades.

🧠 While he got a set of buttons and controls in front of him, Krang steers his android body (or actually mandroid) mostly through his thoughts. It's the same for his bubble walker. Once he's nestled inside his artificial bodies, he connects mentally with the machinery, which is typical for Utrom technology. He is still capable of talking, thinking or eating/drinking freely while connected.
In ROTTMNT, the Utrom/Kraang take it even further and are able to connect with their Technodrome to steer it. And in the IDW Comics, Krang is capable of becoming a parasite inside a living being, but taking charge of something that got a will of its own is more difficult for him than controlling a mere machine.
The Utrom have enormous mental capabilities. When Shredder and Krang have been under the influence of the Anxietron Ray (a device that elicits a surreal fear after getting shot by it), Krang was still capable of reasoning despite being scared and coming up with a way to neutralize the effect of the ray.

Fast Five (2011)
Tumblr media
You don't need to care about car culture or have seen any of the Fast and Furious movies to enjoy Fast Five. This action-heist film is packed with excitement, great characters, and dialogue so good "poetry" feels like too ordinary a word. It's not often the fifth entry in a franchise is the best but this series continues to defy all expectations.
After rescuing Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) from his prison sentence, Brian (Paul Walker) and Mia (Jordana Brewster) join him in Rio de Janeiro where they run afoul of a ruthless drug lord (Joaquim de Almeida). To get even, the trio assembles a team of experts that can help them steal $100 million from him. Their operation is complicated by Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson), a.U.S. Diplomatic Security Service agent determined to capture the fugitives.
This is a sequel done right. Director Justin Lin retains everyone you liked from before and then gives you more. This is a car-based heist film. Toretto and Brian are the drivers. Roman Pearce (Tyrese Gibson) is the fast-talker. Tej Parker (Chris “Ludacris” Bridges) is the man with the connections. Han Seoul-Oh (Sun Kang) blends in anywhere. Gisele Yashar (Gal Gadot) is the weapons expert. The team is topped with Mia and Leo & Santos (Tego Calderón and Don Omar). We even see the return of Matt Schulze as Vince! Most pictures would struggle to fit so many favorites, plus the introduction of some new ones (We’ll get to Dwayne Johnson in a moment) and a plot into a running time of 106 minutes. This film manages to get them all in there in satisfying amounts.
Written by Chris Morgan (whose portfolio is admittedly mixed) and directed by Justin Lin, this is a fast-paced, action-packed adventure. We’re no longer talking about life being lived a quarter of a mile at a time. Instead, it's long chases where people are crashing through windows and bullets fly. The climax? It’s a race down the streets so awesome you don't care how absurd it becomes. The film is simply too entertaining. The instant it's over, you crave more. I never would’ve expected that little gearhead of a movie directed by Rob Cohen way back in 2001 to evolve into this.
One cannot talk about Fast Five without discussing the Luke Hobbs character. Even when he isn’t standing next to his partner, Rio police officer Elena Neves (Elsa Pataky), he’s a giant of muscle and personality. His lines are gold; one-liners so good most action films would be blessed to have one or two. Make sure you don’t forget a notepad and pencil when popping this beauty into your Blu-ray player so you can write them down.
Fast Five is so much fun, and it’s so unexpectedly entertaining those who didn’t drool over the sleek engines and squealing tires in the previous Fast & Furious movies may want to go back and check if their opinions on them have suddenly changed. Some will try to justify this as a mere guilty pleasure because, if you think about it, this part was a little unbelievable, and then there was that other thing... but don’t. Do not waste your time considering the physics of what takes place. Instead, admire how much bang for your buck you get. Fast Five is well worth your time and likely a new favorite for many. (Theatrical version on Blu-ray, September 15, 2018)

He watched his feet, the only things that were keeping him from finding out if there really was a Kingdom of Heaven or not.
Narrator
Tumblr media
In the not so distant future, people get so desperate for food and money that some enter a competition: 100 people set off walking with out stopping. Whoever is the last man standing will get basically whatever they want for the rest of their lives...everyone else gets shot.
The participants share a special bond while competing with each other. Ray Garraty has an advantage as he is the only one from the state of Maine, where the race is being held. A great look at the steady, monotonous trip into madness for each contestant.
Where in Maine are we? The participants march their way across the state in route to Boston.
Where is this in the King timeline? Novel #6, Book #7, (Richard Bachman #2) 1979
Connection to previous King books? None
Connection to Dark Tower series? None
Good Guy #1: Garraty is the protaganist and it’s hard not to route for him
Good Guy #2: Garraty has a lot of confidantes along the way, but none as close as Peter McVries, who saves Garraty several times.
Bad Guy #1: Gary Barkovitch. Overly confident and standoffish, Bark is hated by pretty much everyone in the race.
Bad Guy #2: Stebbens. Garrity’s frenemy is seen as a machine and the favorite. He’s not so bad as the story goes along, but the story plays into the mystery of who he is and why he’s in the race.
Freakout Factor: Besides the in-depth descriptions of foot injuries and ailments, the creepiest part for me was following these guys on their slow descent to madness.
That ending, though: The winner goes a different direction than I would, for sure, but it is very interesting, none the less.
Overall thoughts: This book really makes you think and puts you right in the middle of the hell these guys are going through. It did feel like it was dragging on a little too long and got a little tedious in talking about every walker’s death.
Total rating: 7.0 Double-Thick Wool Socks (out of 10)

Halo gravity traction is a procedure that gradually stretches the spine in order to correct severe spinal conditions. For some children, it may be a better choice than surgery. Getty Images/MoMo Productions Halo gravity traction involves attaching a metal “halo” to a person’s head. A healthcare professional then attaches this to a weighted pulley system that gradually adjusts the spine. First used in 1959, the device is less common today due to advancements in surgical fixation and fusion procedures. However, it might still be the preferred option for some, including children and those who can’t have surgery. Specialists may also use it before surgery to help with correcting the spine. Although the procedure may seem quite painful, some people experience immediate benefits, like breathing more easily and having less pain. Read on to learn more about how halo gravity traction works. Halo gravity traction uses and benefits Healthcare professionals may use halo gravity traction to treat advanced spinal conditions, such as: severe scoliosis neuromuscular scoliosis upper cervical spine injuries congenital spine irregularities cervical (neck) instability severe cervical kyphosis Halo bracing comes with risks, but specialists may consider it the safest option in some cases. For example, it can be a good choice for children, as their bones are still developing. In children and adolescents with severe spinal curvature, halo traction lowers the risk of nerve and tissue damage compared with surgical intervention. It’s not always a replacement for surgery, however, and a doctor may recommend a less invasive surgical method afterward, such as spinal fusion. How halo gravity traction works First, your child will receive a general anesthetic, which means they’ll be asleep during the procedure. A healthcare professional will then attach a metal ring, or halo, to the skull using several pins. They’ll then connect this halo to a weighted pulley system that gently pulls the head and spine upward. The process generally takes about 1 to 2 hours. Over the span of about 3 to 12 weeks, the healthcare professional will add small increments of weight. This steady increase in force slowly stretches and realigns the spine. Throughout the treatment, your child may use a wheelchair or walker, allowing for some mobility. And regular monitoring, including X-rays and neurological checks, ensures that the spine is responding appropriately to the traction. What to know once the halo is put on Your child will typically stay in the hospital for the duration of their treatment. Throughout their stay, a healthcare professional will add a small amount of weight incrementally to the device, until the total weight is about 50% of the child’s weight. Healthcare professionals will monitor your child closely to ensure that the process goes smoothly and to assess for any nerve issues. This process may include: vision and hearing tests eye movement tests X-rays The healthcare team will likely encourage your child to move around with help from a wheelchair or walker. Also, it’s safe to do schoolwork or work throughout the treatment. If your child needs to use the bathroom, they’ll temporarily detach from the halo device. And while they’re sleeping, a healthcare professional may significantly reduce the amount of traction or remove the device altogether. Ultimately, this depends on the doctor’s advice and what works best for each person. Is halo gravity traction painful? Because your child will be under general anesthesia while a specialist is placing the pins, they shouldn’t feel any pain during the procedure. However, some people may experience a headache, soreness, or swelling around the pin sites in the hours or days that follow. Other potential side effects may include: spinal pain or discomfort pin site infections pin loosening According to a 2019 review of children
undergoing halo gravity traction, these side effects are generally mild and easily manageable with help from muscle relaxants, antibiotics, and pin retightening. Potential risks and complications Most halo gravity traction complications are mild, especially compared with the risks of surgery. Beyond issues like discomfort or infection, additional complications that may occur include: nerve issues in the head or face infections or fractures around the eye double vision or other vision problems spinal nerve pain irregular heartbeat issues swallowing skull punctures breathing issues or pneumonia, though this is more common in older adults A small 2022 study in children found that: 95% experienced complications 90% experienced cervical (neck) pain 36% experienced back pain 26% experienced minor neurological issues 5% experienced dizziness or pin displacement The researchers note that complications, including infections and neurological issues, were minor and didn’t cause any long-term consequences. However, they say that further research in larger samples is needed before drawing any conclusions. It’s important to note that because halo gravity traction is highly specialized, only a small number of hospitals and surgeons in the United States can perform this treatment. How parents can support children having halo gravity traction If your child’s having halo gravity traction, there are a few things you can do to help them feel as relaxed as possible during the process. These steps include: Making them feel at home: During their hospital stay, plan to stay with them and bring their favorite toys, some games, or any decorations that may help them feel cozy and comfortable. Encouraging them to play (safely): Children don’t need to sit still and watch TV while wearing the device. They usually adjust to using a walker or wheelchair quickly and often benefit from some light exercise and fun. Helping them sleep peacefully: Your child will sleep in a specialized bed while in traction, but it may take some adjustment. Consider using a neck pillow or rolled-up towel to support their head while they get some shuteye. Other tips to remember include: ensuring that your child avoids high impact activities for several months using only baby shampoo on their wounds monitoring for pain, numbness, or fever Of course, always follow the doctor’s orders carefully to ensure a smooth healing process. What’s the outlook for someone having halo gravity traction? Although the procedure may come with complications, they’re somewhat minor compared with more invasive surgical procedures. According to the authors of one 2024 paper, the halo brace is currently the most effective spinal brace device available for increasing upper cervical spinal mobility. The authors of the same paper estimate that the success rate is about 85%. In one study the authors cite, about 121 people from a sample of 239 had minor complications. In the same 2022 study mentioned earlier, the researchers note that the device can reduce discomfort and correct spinal curves by up to 50%. The bottom line Halo gravity traction is a reasonably effective way to correct severe spinal irregularities, especially for children and adolescents whose bones are still developing. Due to the invasive nature of the device in the skull, it requires very delicate care and attention throughout the treatment process. Serious complications are rare, and most people report benefits like reduced spinal pain and improved breathing.

Chapter two
The aftermath of their kiss was a silence heavy with unspoken words. Zakane's heart pounded in his chest, a rhythm echoing the tempest within him. He had crossed a line, a boundary he had believed to be impenetrable. Yet, in that moment of surrender, he had found a peace he had never known.
River's eyes held a mixture of tenderness and awe. He reached out to trace Zakane's jawline, his touch gentle and reassuring. "I love you, Zakane," he whispered, his voice thick with emotion.
A warmth spread through Zakane, a sensation as comforting as the sun's rays on a winter's day. "I love you too, River," he replied, his voice barely a whisper.
As the initial shock of their declaration began to fade, a new reality began to emerge. A reality where they were more than just friends, more than just mates. They were lovers, bound by a connection as deep and profound as the earth itself.
In the days that followed, Zakane found himself drawn to Gwena with a newfound respect and admiration. He saw the strength and wisdom in her, a resilience that mirrored his own. Their conversations were filled with shared experiences, with laughter and understanding. A bond was forming between them, a bond built on mutual respect and admiration.
As the three dragons shared their lives, they discovered a harmony they had never imagined possible. It was a delicate balance, a dance of emotions and desires. But at the heart of it all was a love that was both fierce and tender, a love that defied convention and embraced the extraordinary.
The weight of the approaching breeding season hung heavy in the air. Four weeks. A mere blink in the grand scheme of a dragon's life, yet it was a ticking time bomb, a countdown to a biological imperative that threatened to disrupt the delicate balance they had so carefully constructed.
Zakane felt a growing unease. The once familiar comfort of their shared space now carried an undercurrent of tension. Gwena, with her usual grace, masked her own apprehension, but Zakane could sense the storm brewing beneath the calm exterior. River, caught between two powerful forces, seemed to carry the weight of the world on his shoulders.
Their once intimate conversations now veered towards practicalities, discussions about nesting sites, food supplies, and the impending changes. The laughter that had once filled the cavern was replaced by an uneasy silence, punctuated by the occasional awkward exchange.
The physical changes were subtle at first. A shift in appetite, a restlessness that seeped into their days. But as the weeks dwindled, these changes became more pronounced. Gwena's scales took on a iridescent sheen, her body growing visibly fuller. Zakane found himself drawn to her, a primal instinct awakening within him, a desire as old as time itself.
Yet, beneath the surface of this biological imperative, there was a fear, a doubt. Could their love withstand the test of nature? Could they navigate the uncharted waters of parenthood while preserving the unique bond they shared?
The weight of the approaching breeding season pressed down on them like an anvil. Gwena, her body transforming with each passing day, moved with a regal grace that masked the storm of hormones raging within her. River, caught in the crossfire of his mates’ shifting emotions, was a tightrope walker, balancing their needs with his own. And Zakane, a silent observer, felt a growing sense of displacement.
Their once harmonious existence was now a delicate ecosystem, each member teetering on the brink of imbalance. The once shared spaces echoed with unspoken tensions. A casual touch, a shared glance, now carried a weight of unspoken meaning.
The instinct to protect, to provide, was a primal force that surged through Zakane. He found himself drawn to Gwena, his desire for her a complex blend of admiration and possessiveness. But the memory of River's touch, the shared intimacy of their bond, pulled him back. He was a captain adrift at sea, the compass of his heart pointing in multiple directions.
River, caught in the undertow of his mates’ emotions, felt a growing sense of isolation. He loved them both deeply, but the nature of their relationship was unprecedented. There were no guideposts, no maps to navigate this uncharted territory. He was a parent, a lover, and a friend, all at once, and the roles often collided.
As the days dwindled, the tension reached a breaking point. A sharp word, a misplaced glance, ignited a wildfire of emotions. The cavern, once a sanctuary, became a battleground. The three dragons, bound by love, were now locked in a struggle for survival.
Gwena's desires were a tempest brewing within her, a longing that gnawed at her core. The physical connection, the tangible expression of love, had always been a cornerstone of her world. Sharing her life with two extraordinary beings had filled her world with a richness she had never imagined, but it had also created a void, a longing for a deeper intimacy.
She craved the warmth of their bodies against hers, the tangle of limbs in shared sleep, the stolen moments of affection. The intellectual and emotional bond they shared was profound, but it was not enough. She yearned for the primal connection, the raw, physical expression of their love.
Her attempts to bridge this gap were met with a mixture of confusion and hesitation. A gentle touch, a lingering embrace, were met with stiff responses, as if her advances were an intrusion. The once fluid dynamics of their relationship were now fraught with unspoken tensions, a dance of desire and restraint.
Gwena felt a growing sense of isolation, a loneliness in the midst of abundance. She was a queen, a creature of power and independence, yet she found herself yearning for the simple comfort of physical affection.
Zakane was caught in a maelstrom of emotions. Gwena's growing desire for physical intimacy was a foreign concept to him. His love for her was deep and profound, but it was rooted in a different kind of connection, a bond forged in shared experiences and mutual respect. Physical intimacy, in the context of their unique relationship, felt like an intrusion, a violation of the delicate balance they had so carefully constructed.
River, on the other hand, was torn between his love for both dragons. Gwena's longing was a tangible expression of her love, a vulnerability that tugged at his heartstrings. Yet, the thought of sharing his body with Zakane, of creating a physical bond between them, was a concept so foreign it was almost terrifying.
The once harmonious trio was now a battlefield of conflicting desires. Gwena's longing for physical intimacy, Zakane's resistance, and River's internal conflict created a toxic atmosphere, a constant undercurrent of tension that hung heavy in the air.
Their once shared spaces were now filled with awkward silences, punctuated by the occasional, forced interaction. The physical distance between them grew, a silent acknowledgment of the chasm that had opened between them.
Zakane listened to River's words, his heart pounding in his chest. The idea of physical intimacy with another dragon had been a foreign concept, a taboo he had never dared to question. Yet, River's words, filled with love and understanding, began to chip away at the walls he had built around himself.
He looked at Gwena, her eyes filled with a longing that mirrored his own internal turmoil. She was a queen, a creature of power and independence, yet she stood before him, vulnerable and exposed. A wave of compassion washed over him, a realization that his own desires and fears were overshadowing the happiness of those he loved.
With a deep breath, he met River's gaze. "You are right," he said, his voice barely a whisper. "I have been selfish."
A sense of peace washed over him as he realized that love was not a finite resource, but a boundless ocean. Sharing his life with River and Gwena was a privilege, not a burden. And if sharing his body with Gwena was a way to express his love for her, then he would embrace it.
It would not be easy, he knew. Old habits and fears would linger. But with River's support and Gwena's understanding, he would face this new chapter with courage and openness.
The transition was not without its challenges. There were awkward moments, hesitant touches, and the lingering shadow of uncertainty. Yet, with each passing day, a new rhythm began to emerge, a delicate balance of intimacy and respect.
Zakane, once a fortress of solitude, was slowly opening his heart. He found himself drawn to the warmth of Gwena's body, the comforting weight of her against his side. It was a foreign sensation, a vulnerability he had never allowed himself to experience. Yet, in the safety of their shared space, he found a sense of peace, a contentment he had never known.
River, the architect of this new dynamic, watched with a mixture of pride and concern. He was the bridge between two worlds, a mediator in a delicate negotiation. His love for both dragons was a constant, a guiding light in the midst of the storm.
Their physical intimacy grew slowly, a tender exploration of uncharted territory. There were moments of awkwardness, of laughter, and of profound connection. And through it all, their bond deepened, a testament to the resilience of love.
