You know the drill. In this chapter: my thinly veiled agenda of spreading awareness of DID lmao. I wanna reiterate that a lot of what I know is a mix of personal experience and research. I'm no psychological professional, but I've lived with what I write since I was a kid so I think I've got a pretty good basis of things lmao.

Also I don't officially give Dude a diagnosis in this, i think it could be just as likely for him to have OSDD instead of DID, so I mainly use DID as the gateway for his understanding like a lot of us do. In terms of terms (pun unintented) I use the most common ones, although I write Dude to use them pretty freely. So things like fronting and switching are very helpful to him, but he can't really decide what to actually call his alters, since he' d rather just say they're his friends in his head or just Dudes who share a body. It's his way of showing that he values them very much and wants them to know that. Him being a host doesn't give him any value over them (And D/P1 being the host for the first quarter of their life before him is probably the reason for this)

He likes headmates though. He doesn't remember where he got it from, just that one day the word came into his head. He thinks its cute.

A Polish game company just released a game about Aztecs killing Castilian conquistadores... Curious about what the reviews say, I've seen some stuff on twitter about the cities not being too accurate

I've taken a quick look at it. Gotta keep in mind this is still in development, so things can change...

Very unpolished (pun unintented) gameplay. It's fine if it's a small indie team, but I always find the clash between the ultra-realistic Unity graphics and the weird gameplay jarring

While I haven't played it, there's a plot, apparently, where your warrior can decide to choose to support "the strangers who want to free us from the priests that kill our brothers and sons"... it's... ehh.

...Let's not whitewash it, human sacrifice was awful, and lots of Aztec-conquered peoples allied with the Spanish against the Aztecs (though a debate on how much was it political expedience and how much was disgust with human sacrifice, which seemed to be widespreadly accepted in Mesoamerican culture, could take us for whole pages). But the way the whole thing is worded tells me that they aren't gonna approach this with too much nuance.

Especially now that you can choose to be a conquistador and kill natives. Yeah.

Yes, the cities look like ruins. It seems that they have based their setting in current ruins (in fact, from a brief look, they seem more Mayan than anything) than actual Tenochtitlán when it was at its peak. The whole "Native Americans lived in rainforests with some temples sticking out" is a trope that repeats itself again and again. These were urban cultures, those cities should be full of stuff, art... I can forgive the excuse that it's after the fire of Tenochtitlán, but it still feels like they wanted you to play in the ruins of a civilization, not the civilization itself.

Overall, it seems that the devs got a concept, it was very poorly thought out, and just went with it. If you're making a "natives vs. colonizers" videogame, you should double down in your research and presentation, this is a very delicate topic you're presenting. It just reeks of a half-baked game with some very, very eurocentrist popular history thinking behind of it, intentional or not.

I'm reminded of the Age of Empires II Aztec campaign, where you could also play as the Aztecs and drive out the Spanish. Based, yes, sure, but the units were the same as any other, with metal-plated armor Aztec soldiers and catapults against the Spanish (to be fair, the devs did give American units some flavor to distinguish them from the Old World, and because of limitations, pretty much everybody had to share the same sprites). But still, it is an interesting piece of history you could show, but you can't be this sloppy about it.

By the way, the Incas resisted the Spanish conquest for decades after the fall of Atahualpa, and they even laid siege to Cuzco using European equipment and were close to retaking it, the last Inca state (Vilcabamaba) was only conquered in 1572, almost thirty years after the death of Atahualpa. Now THAT'S an interesting campaign for a strategy game. There could have been many points (even leaving aside the Tupác Amaru rebellion) where the Incas could have expelled the Spanish or regained independence.

Stiles has recently been practicing an incredibly useful little trick kind of akin to a cloaking spell. When he uses it, not even the wolves with their annoyingly nosy super-senses can find him. So far, his experiments with it have not only been informative but also incredibly entertaining.

Because it was more than a little bit satisfying to pop in out of nowhere and give the pack just a little taste of all the near-heart attacks Stiles has suffered over the years from all their dramatic werewolf spontaneous entrances and exits, disappearances and reappearances.

Plus, Scott totally screams like a girl and now Stiles isn’t the only one who knows (appearing from behind the shower curtain right as Scott was about to climb in had accomplished that).

The only person he could never seem to get the jump on was Derek.

I was again thinking about Tumblr and how it sucks to do visual arts and be on Tumblr because no one ever notices you or at least never reblogs and then this idea was born in my head and I made this very, very quick comic. (It took like less than 5 minutes.) I dedicate this to all you who struggle with the same thing on this website.

(Only after I had finished it, I realized it’s storytelling style reminds me of my favorite Finnish comic: Fingerpori - but what is done, is done. Maybe this can then be a little, unintented homage to that. Under the link there’s a few examples of the Fingerpori comics translated into English. The comics mainly ride on Finnish puns and black humour and those are the things I like way too much :D)

{ barring muses who’re just low rn (looking at you, Lucas) i’d honestly love to revive M/eta K/night... he and the connected hyperfixation are only gone because of a stupid post someone made that attracted a bunch of other, actually experienced M/eta K/nights i didnt know existed to me and lowkey poked fun at us for all picking him. so that was. fun. can i have my enjoyment for him back and finish that fixation cycle pls gbfjhgbfj }

13. What’s one random headcanon about your muse that people mightn’t know?

{ it’s kinda a weird set of headcanons to have so i won’t share them unless anyone wants them but i’ve written a doc on how Hornet’s eggs would work if she were to ever have any with a ship partner as an adult. one headcanon i can say that’s related is that she has a lot of mixed feelings on the idea of having kids, being stuck between her new freedom of her duties post-game and the idea of continuing H/errah’s brood. }

16. Favourite trope?

{ corruption good! both magical and mental. anyone whos known me for more than a week knows it’s one of my favorites to the point that Lucas has terrible mental fortitude despite being psychic and literally having to deal with other people’s thoughts every day ever. }

17. Least favourite trope?

{ enemies to lovers, which i know is weird with the corruption trope. people just... tend to rush it or do it between characters who feel better off hating each other or being allies/friends/etc. the only exception ive seen is what @bxttenbound​ does with Toxic’s Duke because they keep the toxic (pun unintented) aspect of it rather than having the “good guy” fix the “bad guy” and it just generally works to me.
