I view Michael in my flashlight duo universe as being like. not how a lot of people portray him. as in he doesnt lash out for a reason. he isnt acting that way towards Evan because William told him to.

it's for sure affected by William's own actions, but as in Michael subconsciously learned those things. he isn't even on William's side really. he sucks as a father to both of them. it's just that michael doesnt respect Evan enough to see him as someone who is supposed to be on his side

Michael subconsciously learned growing up that everything Evan is is bad. and the cool people his age see people like Evan as weak, so he does too.

he lacks any emotional maturity, so a lot of his actions towards Evan are out of his own boredom and resent. he genuinely thinks his reactions are funny. if he ever did realize what he did was wrong, he would have to actually realize. he knows fully that what he does hurts Evan. he just doesn't care. he hasn't developed the intuition he needs to care. you know?

and Michael is around 16 if evan is 12. it's not that hes too young to understand, it's the lack of good parenting, or literally parenting in general. if Evans life is hell because everyone around him hates him, then that means its true. it means the people in hurricane dont like people like Evan (a boy who at his age should be getting manlier, but isnt. sensitive and emotional and physically small and lanky. evan literally has anxiety and paranoia and is neurodivergent and people dont really acknowledge that but they notice. and they don't like it)

the people in their town suck and are mean and so is Michael's father. so of course hes going to stick to what hes been taught and to everybody else who also believes it and is on his side. he was never taught that what hes doing is wrong. hes a bad person but it's a product of horrible parenting and the worst town in the world

in contrast to Michael, in the neglect and bullying Evan has faced its made him kinder. he is the one facing it so he wants to be kind to others instead of being like the people he hates.

I dont want to say he would be more in tune with his emotions than Michael because he wouldn't be. before Gregory, he was so unstable and miserable he was just a big ball of anxiety and emotions. he didnt understand his emotions and have that country mile on Michael's own emotional maturity because he didnt have it in him to learn

and by that I mean he didnt even like himself enough to want to help himself. hed been taught that theres fundamentally something wrong with him that makes him bad and weird and not like anyone else who's impossible to 'fix'. and hed been hearing that since he was a young kid, so of course hed believe it.

but then Gregory comes alone and slowly tries to strip away what Evan had been taught just by being kind to him and repeating kind things. the opposite of what everyone else did.

and that is what makes Evan begin to change for the better. the first thing he learns is that Gregory doesn't think something is super wrong with him that makes him bad and stupid so he starts to believe it a little, too. he begins to see how maybe how hes being treated is unfair and its him seeing himself as worthy of kindness that makes him upset on his own behalf. and what that means is he has better self esteem when before he was so insecure he could never even defend himself a little bit

and its after he gains some respect for himself that he learns how to help himself. he actually thinks he deserves it now, so with his support system in Gregory and his family he learns how he works. he learns what his phobias are and what sets him off and how to calm himself down. and of course he hoped all the way through that changing could be what 'fixes' him and the people around him wouldnt hate him so much. but like I said before its that self respect that confirms it's for himself and not for others

of course that stuff doesnt go away, but he improves. the people around him do notice. they dont care enough to say anything, they're more just suprised or happy hes shutting up in that mean way of theirs. but I think after a while of Evan being comfortable with Gregory and improving himself he would one day just snap.

before, he had layers and layers of nervousness and fear and anxiety and insecurity stopping his very high emotions from boiling over. and with the newfound respect for himself comes the anger on his own behalf of how hes treated.

so i feel like one day he would just blow up with all the emotion without the insane amount of fear stopping him. and it doesnt help, not really.

before, evan wanted to please michael and his father. but now that he wants them to know how much he hates them and how much they hurt him, they are pleased.

he gained more respect but in the worst way. not the way he wanted.

but back to their relationship, I think post-all of this, evan wouldnt want anything to do with him. let's say Michael does have a wake up call when they're both older. hes already ruined his relationship so much its unsalvageable. he caused evan to develop fundamental issues rooted deep (anxiety and paranoia, general things he learned about the world and certain people/groups and traits that he'll have to remind himself arent true) inside of him.

his family had their chance and they blew it hard. evan is definitely in the right to want nothing to do with him or William and to continue growing up and living and laughing with his actual family in his heart. they never get to make it official, but that doesn't matter.

anyway I went on like. a lot lol. for anyone who havent read my oneshot series this is based completely off of that au of mine and in my mind is canon to every oneshot if you do read them. thanks for enabling me to talk about flashlight duo lol you can tell I put so much thought into them every day its crazy

edit: to answer your actual questions lol: it's not that Michael literally doesn't see Evan as a human person, it's that he doesnt respect him enough to treat him with human respect. you know? everything evan is he has been taught is bad and worthless so that's what he thinks. so by extension evan is too

and yeah evan does get bullied at school. I always imagined it was less bullies pushing him into lockers and stealing his lunch money (Williams ass does not give him lunch money let's be real) and more that they just treat him awful. hes either invisible or in the way and then they dont care to be super rude to him. they dont just spout their exact thought process out but they all think of him badly and view him as a big joke. its less blatant meanness and more just treating him awful in general and that's what makes Evan think its normal and that hes asking for it when its not.

again, this is just miaomiao being miaomiao. which is interesting, bc it isnt really made obvious When she starts liking ziqi as a person and not just someone who she has to get to like her. sure, she enjoyed the Go game, and sure, she didnt actually care that he was her master and was able to find joy in it, even wishing he couldve been there to see her do the spark, but its not clear when the shift happens. because shes not faking this or doing this just for her own survival. she really wants him to live because she cares about him. i just find it a liiiiittle bit upsetting that its not a clear depiction of when she wants to see him as a friend/romantic interest verse having seen him as a gateway to her world, esp since she states she only liked yao in the book.

can we please please please appreciate the inner turmoil hes having with trusting her here. hes not sure if this is the right thing to do. hes scared. scared of rejection, scared of what it means for her to be caring so much, scared of what will happen when they get out of here. and he wants Her to get out, because he cares about her survival, because he doesnt want his sister to lose her friend, so he takes the risk.

and like i said in my last review, he doesnt understand her intentions, and he had things he wanted to find out about her and made presumptions, but he couldnt have thought this up. this doesnt make sense for her to do this. she couldve escaped with the talisman and let him die, doing whatever she wanted to yao if she really had malintent. but she didnt. and i think this shattered a lot of his beliefs about her, and part of why he seemed to drop all his questions altogether. he'll still be wary of her and her "nonsense" that she says, but theres no denying that she seems to actually care about him.

in this first instance, he doesnt back off. he doesnt warn her about why the hairband only reacts when someone tries to take it off. i dont know if he even thought she would go through with it so easily.

but man, it got her ass good. she spat blood and everything, just like cdramas love to do.

and he gasps. look at that face. "i did that" (negative) face. self-esteem dropping right before our eyes. and he cant help her because hes so weak.

feeling guilty as he watches her crawl to him, still fighting to save his life even after she just got hurt. hes tearing up. how could someone want to save him? how could someone be so concerned with him and what happens to him? hes in no state to argue with her, and its so touching to see him like this.

love my men on some horses. there is surprisingly not much horse action in this drama. i know we do get it next episode, but overall, in comparison to other ancient cdramas, horses are truly only supporting roles here.

i like how both mus look back at miaomiao in regards to that being the only inn to stay at, and ziqi specifically comments on it being fine and all because miaomiao has an upset look on her face. and its really not because shes that uptight/pretentious, shes just worried about the plot going awry! but he doesnt know that, so of course he has to describe worse conditions to her to let her know she should be grateful.

had a daydream where wanderer gets sent to an au where ei actually takes in and raises him and kunikuzushi is officially a minor goverment official/diplomat who goes around checking in with the different factions,, but mostly he just goes around visiting auntie miko and the kaedehara clan or something and basically is just the shogun’s son without any super big responsibilities or whatever

anyway the wanderer shows up during some festival or something with a bunchof international guests or whatever,,, and panicks hearing ‘kunikuzushi’ and ‘shogun’ in the streets and his first instinct is to get the heck out but there arent any outgoing international ships cause all of them are coming for the festival and staying for the duration (idk if this is realistic) and maybe only people with verified id can get out of ritou?

also he hears about sumeru and since this is a happier au lesser lord kusanali is well known as a young archon being raised by greater lord rukkhadevata as her heir whatever and this messes wanderer up EVEN MORE cause this is is different and he doesnt remember the greater lord so it seems like nahida happened to get her own mothermentor and can he really go to her for help to get back but who else can he go to and other bad feelings

and since he doesnt have anything else to do he ends up wandering around (heh wandering) and being careful to hide his face and feeling abunch more bad feelings because he keeps hearing about kunikuzushi and ei and also probably has some feelings about his vision too. maybe he ends up watching the fatui too? or maybe even kuni and ei

and then idk things happen and the fatui makes a grab for the gnosis and wanderer gets flashbacks (‘anything but the gnosis!’) and runs up to block them and ends up knocking his hat off.. the fatui are all like ‘oh so you hid a second creation huh??’ and everyone else is just staring wide eyed. wanderer gets to beat up signora (maybe with ei and yae hesitantly offering support??) and then he passes out like a champ

wanderer wakes up and gets interrogated?? or maybe he just tells them hes from another world and to stay tf away if they cant help him get back and all these happier emotionally healthier people just watch and can tell hes obviously fucked up inside. hes still stuck there recovering tho so they get to know him a little better via forced talks and little slipups and stuff

meanwhile kuni has self esteem issues cause theres this?? stronger and more capable vers of himself?? vs him who doesnt have much a purpose and doesnt feel like hes doing anything. and wanderer finds out somehow and basically spits in his face (‘you have family who loves you despite your weakness. you dont know what it means to have family reject you for who you are.’) probably there is a play here on how kuni doesnt think of himself as inhuman while the wanderer is struggling to accept his humanity after being rejected for his inhumanity

also there is a moment where kuni and kazuha meet and they are either buds or vague acquaintances and wanderer is weird about it because he has so much history with the kaedeharas that doesnt exist here

WILBUR

Personally for me I’d type c!wilbur as ENFJ which is interesting for a villainous character. When he spirals into madness, you can see his dominant function (Fe) become more unhealthy, leading to him being very manipulative. He shows Ti-grip when his Fe is left to burn out, becoming critical of others and their methods, preferring he do it instead (seen with tommy during their exile). Ni auxiliary is shown in his ambition and drive for his goal of L’manburg.

For his enneagram, i know wilbur said he based c!wilbur off of the song eight by sleeping at last, but hear me out,,, I was thinking maybe a 3w4. The 8 characteristics could be seen in a tritype of 368. Type three is named the achiever which in itself stands for his vision and ambition of L’manburg. 3w4s are often working towards personal growth and professional success. When unhealthy, 3s can get extremely competitive and prone to one-upping others. May reject their sense of self and develop intense mood swings. At worst they can backstab ruthlessly (tommy and the whole of L’manburg and pogtopia) and destroy others reputations solely for their benefit (“if i can’t have this no one can”). The tritype Im a bit if-y on but I’ll say 368 because it focuses on working hard, achieving personal best and developing a winning image. They will want to protect others from those they perceive as a target (dream, Schlatt), they will warn and caution others and seek “worthy” authorities they can respect.

GHOSTBUR His Si is incredibly high so imma say ISFJ. His main motive (id say) is wanting to collect stories of his past and the history of the nation he built, his “unfinished symphony”. Fe auxiliary is very strong as well as he shows a lot of compassion to others, offering them some blue in times of need and also not wanting anyone to feel sadness like he feels it. Ghostbur ignores his own feelings in order for others to feel safe. His Ti is shown through his need for gathering knowledge to understand alivebur and i could also see it through his internalised logic that the blue will help people. Not sure on inferior Ne, maybe through not wanting to see other possibilities in regards to his resurrection, however he was under a lot of stress since his home just got blown up, and friend died, so I can’t blame him.

He clearly doesn’t want conflict so I’ll say type 9. Needs peace and harmony (he gives out blue to help people). Soothing voice, and collected (except when Phil blew up L’manburg but that’s reasonable). He’s complacent, and humble, and will go the extra mile so long as to not rock the boat. Appreciative of the small things in life and enjoy simple pleasures.

TOMMY For Tommy I think ESFP which is probably one of the ones I’m up for more opinions on bc I’m not completely sure of his type. Se as dominant as he thrives on living in the moment but in an unhealthy way (unnecessary conflicts) He’s got a strong Fi auxiliary and you can see that through his personal morals and the way he usually makes decisions based off of emotions rather than objective facts and logical reasoning. He’s good at planning, but not at thinking out the longevity of it. Eg when heady exile and found technos house and lived under there, thinking techno would find him, this all shows Se-Te loop. He gradually develops an unhealthy Fi which leads to him disregarding external relationships (his friendship with tubbo) and commitments to maintain his internal love of the discs.

Enneagram wise, I’m definitely leaning towards 7w6. 7s are usually jumping from one thing to another and are constantly getting bored. The wing 6 brings loyalty and protectiveness. When unhealthy, sevens become narcissistic in their actions and presentation (see his confrontation with tubbo after tubbo thought he was dead, and the “the discs are worth more than you ever were” granted he quickly realises what he said but the mentality was still there).

DREAM I think he’s a fairly obvious stereotype unhealthy ENTJ. He has a very low Fi. When we see him driven by emotion (usually anger) it’s terrifying and we have no context about it at all except that it’s for a need of control. He knows how to manipulate people through his charisma and power in an ENTJ fashion. He lost attachment to his things very quickly (using Te and Ni to go forward logically while also showcasing his inferior Fi)

Dream is a very painfully obvious 8, probably an 8w7, but he is defined an 8. The eight has fiery passions and is usually stubborn and headstrong, they are serious about control over their environment. They are goal-oriented and self-competent. Eights are direct and aren’t shy when taking the lead and making tough decisions. They are often seen in leadership positions. The eight type is part of the “body based” triad and they often act impulsively. They crave respect and enjoy being likes by the group. When unhealthy, eights can become tyrannical and intimidating, scaring off others at first glance. They become addicted to the pursuit of power and will destroy anything blocking their path. Feelings and emotions become insignificant (spirit :’)) challengers become stone-cold and take an antagonist stand to anyone who questions them or their motives. This is the one I’m most most sure of out of every typing I’ve done bc it seems painfully obvious.

TUBBO I’d say probably an Fe dom so maybe ENFJ/ESFP but I’m leaning more to the ENFJ side. Tubbo realised after he thought tommy had died that, without tommy he was himself. Something Fe doms struggle with the most is self worth and personal identity. They’re caught up in wanting to help others that they don’t tend to their own needs. He’s careless and self sacrificing when it comes to the needs of others (him giving up his life so that tommy could have the discs and be happy) and bc he has such low self esteem he doesn���t realise that that’s not what tommy wants. The reason I’m more leaning to ENFJ is because of his inferior Ti. Though he didn’t want to due to dominant Fe, he was lead to believe exiling tommy was the best possible solution. You can see he regrets it after tommy and dream had left. When he was working under schlatt we saw his remorse and guilt even though he knew it had to be done. We see his dominant Fe during his time as president when others push him to do things and he usually agrees. He was manipulated through guilt by dream which is very unhealthy ENFJ.

(I wrote this before the ghostbur one so sorry for any repetitive language) For enneagram, type nine: the peacemaker. Type 9s are motivated by their need for peace and harmony (tubbo was manipulated into believing that getting rid of tommy would achieve this). They have a calm demeanour and are agreeable. They’re hardworking, friendly, and modest but also more serious and diligent than expected. (I’m not too sure on his enneagram which is why this is so short)

QUACKITY Estj imo. Like dream, he’s unhealthily obsessed with power, (unhealthy dominant Te). He abandoned L’manburg because schlatt wouldn’t let him have any say, and he was shoved to the side, despite it being a coalition government. He is very logical and controls others. He makes sure he comes out as the hero and that his hands are clean, learning it from past experiences (Si). He quickly finds ways to get out of situations through the use of tertiary Ne. Doesnt show a lot of Fi and he usually underestimates his opponents abilities and/or strength due to his overconfidence. He’s willing to kill anyone who goes against what he thinks and is stubborn and argumentative. He doesn’t like it when people are lazy and don’t contribute.

Also, similarly to dream, I’d type his enneagram as 8w7. The same with his obsession of power, and his strong/weak mindset where he thinks the world is made up of protectors and those who need to be protected (see him taking it upon himself to execute technoblade for the better of L’manburg) which is all very textbook 8. The opinions of others don’t have much effect on him. Eights are concerned with justice, combating oppression, and protecting the weak. He takes the lead in making tough decisions (he’s the butcher army leader). He becomes more antagonist and villainous with his actions against technoblade, believing he’s in the right. (I didn’t want to just copy out what I said for dream so this is a shortened version)

KARL Torn between ENFP and ESFP but leaning toward ENFP. He’s time travelling because he believes it’s the right the to do which is more so Fi, but could be Fe wanting to help others at his personal cost. But also the Fi-Te pair keeps him going and he won’t stop until it’s fulfilled (which is pretty Te imo). He is creative and good with imagination and ideas (Ne) (at the masquerade, although it was a comical excuse, he came up with minecraft streamer quickly, he was also able to answer billiams questions pretty quickly).

Even though it’s now canon he doesn’t choose when and where he travels to, which would have been a stronger argument for a type seven, he’s still enthusiastic at the times he travels to. He’s optimistic (with the mentality everything will go right for him because he believes it has to, even though he’s loosing a lot of memories atm). He’s got childlike energy and curious eyes. He wants to bounce from one place to another, he created two towns already, although one technically no one knows about gogtopia except for the founders and tommy who travelled through it. He’s well like and popular, which is often a 7 trait. The type 7 is part of the “heart-based” triad, and we can see him act through this with the way he seeks excitement as a means to distract himself from the darker, and more painful things in life. He ignores his fears in favour of positive experiences. For a wing, probably a 7w6 in favour of 7w8, the same as tommy. He’s loyal and a strong leader over being tough and more career-driven. If he was to turn unhealthy in the future, we might see him loose his groundedness, and start to live in a perpetual fantasy instead of reality.

Michael Mell Character Analysis

First time he’s introduced Michael is upbeat and geeky. He clearly cares about Jeremy and supports Jeremy going after Christine. He also makes fun of Jeremy in a caring friend way. Our first impression of Michael is that he’s weird and does not care. He is the best friend.

The Second time we see Michael is when Jeremy first learns about the squip and is trying to decide whether he should get it or not. Michael says that Rich is scamming Jeremy, in exact quotes he says “He’s scamming you. He’s scamming you super weirdly.” showing that right off the bat, Michael finds this sketchy, other than outright saying that it’s a scam, he also says that it’s super weird. Right after Michael says this, Jeremy asks “what if it’s not”, then the subject changes due to Jeremy being self-deprecating, Michael immediately responds with compliments and saying that Jeremy isn’t going to be a loser for the rest of his life. Something that is shown in this song/scene is an important difference between Jeremy and Michael. Jeremy is desperate to be cool, he wants to move on, which is kinda a throw away line but before when talking about the squip he also shows this behavior, he’s so desperate that he doesn't care if it’s a scam. Whereas Michael couldn't care less about popularity, he just wants a friend. Another thing to note during this scene is that Michael is scared of losing Jeremy to popularity already, when Jeremy decides that it’s worth a shot, Michael immediately responds with “and if it works? Will you be too cool for video games?” Michael is scared.

The last time we see Michael in the first act, we learn that Michael thinks that Jeremy has been avoiding him. We also learn that The Squip has been blocking Michael out. Even though Michael is upset at Jeremy, he still cares. Once Michael figures it out, he gets excited, he’s happy for his best friend. After Jeremy contemplates his options, he decides to block Michael out.

The first time we see Michael in the second act is honestly I think the most important Michael moment. Michael goes to a party that 1. He wasn't invited to and 2. Doesn’t want to be at. There we learn that Jeremy and Michael have been friends for twelve years. Michael is angry but…. He can’t stay mad. He can’t seem to be mean to Jeremy. We also learn that Michael has gone digging through the internet trying to find information in order to help his friend. He ends up learning some info from someone he plays Warcraft with. He learns that people can go crazy trying to get rid of it, even going as far as being put in a mental hospital. And? Michael is scared. He goes to the party to tell Jeremy this. To stop Jeremy before it’s too late. Michael tries to stop Jeremy from leaving, he tries to reason with Jeremy but… Jeremy calls him a loser. The impact of Jeremy’s words, how he says it, and the fact that The Squip is not on, seem to indicate that Jeremy knows that this is a weak spot for Michael. Michael let's Jeremy leave and has a panic attack. He just lost his only friend. He feels like a failure. He’s stuck at a party that he should not and doesn’t want to be at. Michael has hit rock bottom. We can actually learn a lot about Michaels fears and self-esteem during Michael in the bathroom. He repeatedly states during this song that he’s alone, he is scared of being alone. He feels like no one knows him. He even says “wish I offed myself instead, wish I was never born” this entire song shows that Michael thinks that he’s nothing without Jeremy, he feels worthless, he is repeatedly supporting Jeremy and complimenting Jeremy, because he knows that Jeremy can amount to something, he doesn’t think that he can.

The next time we see Michael, he is burning everything that was given to him by Jeremy. Apparently Jeremy was the only one who remembered his birthday. Jeremy’s dad comes up to him and wants to talk about Jeremy. Michael says that he and Jeremy weren't friends anymore. Jeremy’s dad tries to convince Michael to help and succeeds. Michael still wanted to help Jeremy, he just didn’t think Jeremy would listen and after being called a loser by Jeremy he didn’t think Jeremy even cared now that he had what he wanted.

The next time we see Michael, he’s saving the day, he comes into the theater with mountain dew ready to save Jeremy. But Michael refuses to give it to Jeremy until he apologizes. Jeremy is unable to speak. This part is where we see Michael being irrational and actually standing up to Jeremy.  He also admits that he does indeed care about being popular; he just doesnt think it will ever happen which proves my earlier point. Michael finally realizes that Jeremy actually can’t do anything due to the squip and tries to help him in any way possible.

The last time we see Michael, Jeremy and Michael are friends again. This is musical magic, there’s no way things would resolve that quickly.

just talking too much about draxums redemption dont mind me

i feel like i already talked about this a bunch but to me it doesnt make sense to say draxums redemption is just like the diamonds because the diamonds were always seen as a threat until the very end of the initial series. like from the first mention of them until the finale they were seen as an obstacle that steven had to find his way around and defeat, with white diamond being a threat up until the last moments. they also had no motivation for their war crimes and rigid social/class structures... like, we’re told that yellow and blue are just scared of going against white but white is this way because....... self esteem? scared of not being perfect? despite being the most powerful being of gem kind?? its very weak motivation when compared to their (what we thought at the time was irreversible/permanent and shown to be horrible) actions. 

draxum on the other hand is just machiavellian aka “ends justify the means”. from what we know, humans pushed the yokai underground and draxum didnt care about harming humans because he believed they were going to harm yokai *again*. he didnt want to harm the turtles and only fought them because they would fight him and refuse to join him in fighting against what he perceived to be the real threat. he only put on the armor bc he was manipulated into thinking it was a viable and easier option for taking out the human threat before they had a chance to strike and harm the yokai again. there was literally no talk of redemption or him being redeemable by ANYONE, not even mikey, until he lost literally everything. his home, his power, his connection to his people. the man is living in the streets, wanted as a criminal by the people he thought he was protecting. was he still wrong? yes. did he still have a lot of growing to do? yes. but mikey saw the man responsible for helping bring him into this world at his lowest, loneliest point and extended a helping hand while steven tried to leverage his relationship with the diamonds to stop them from continuing to harm people.

Hmm, I dont think annoying is quite the right word for me. Maybe I was aggravated? I agree with @bleachersmp3 that Ronan doesnt hate them but was feeling insecure. Personally, especially after a series like TRC where the friendships were all-consuming, I dont have as much appreciation or patience for surface-level friendships (even though, as Orla pointed out, they have their place--something I am still learning to accept in my own life), and that's what Adam's friends represented to me: unsure change, surface-level acquaintances, that feeling when you see your best friend after a long time and realize you no longer know how to fill the space. I dont think Ronan disliked them exactly, but something about the way the scene was written stirred up these unpleasant emotions in me, and I think because I know little else about their characters I associate this emotion from the book with these specific people. Which is not fair to them as characters, I admit, but I think that's how I'll continue to feel until I have more exposure to them within the story

yes, ronan was definitely feeling insecure - which imo has a lot more to do with his view of himself than with adam’s new friends (since in fact, he was expecting them to be worse/harder to get along with). ronan’s self-esteem is very low through the book; he feels trapped and “wrong”, he can see adam growing while he’s forced to remain stagnant, and he’s aware that the fact he lives at home, dropped out of school and has no job makes him look “like a loser”. (later, when the room gets trashed by his murder crabs, he’s also visibly upset that adam’s friends are going to think he’s a destructive drunk). i think once ronan’s self-image improves, he will feel much more at ease with people, including - and hopefully not limited to - adam’s friends.

i see your point about all-consuming friendships. i get it, believe me. that trop has always been one of my weak spots, and i’ll always emotionally be fond of the gangsey for that, despite the fact that rationally i know they’re not always good for each other. but the big difference is that when we meet the gangsey, with the exception of blue, they’re all friends already and have been for a while. in fact, blue’s uncomfortable feelings of being left out kind of mirror ronan’s in cdth. the gangsey was an established friendship, whereas in cdth we get friendships that are just starting - ronan and hennessy, adam and the criers. it will take a while before the emotional stakes are as high as they were in trc (and it doesn’t help we still haven’t gotten adam’s pov about his friends, or that he’s not being honest with them -- which is his own fault, not theirs). but all friendships have to start somewhere, and the beginnings are seldom smooth.

i just think that, essentially, the characters are growing up, and that changes how you make friends. it’s both easier and more visceral to make friends in high school, because you get shoved together with other people for a big part of the day, and you kind of latch on to the ones you like for dear life. as an adult, it can be somewhat harder to find common spaces to engage with your peers - but it’s also a more discerning, selective process. it’s less about finding comrades-in-arms and more about finding people that will help you grow and weather the changes of life, in my opinion at least. so yes, friendship in the dreamer trilogy feels more hesitant, less visceral. it should. but the series is all about new beginnings, and i think these friendships are gonna turn into something just as deep and fulfilling as the ones in trc - just in a different way. change can be scary, but a lot of the time, it can also really be good.

Since there is barely anybody that looks at this blog now, imma say some things now that I'll reveal later on Twitter (maybe). Also this is gonna be a long read so you can read if you wanna or not. Its kinda a rant.

I started this blog because I liked Dragon Ball and wanted to share my ideas and things I liked with other fans. I enjoyed that. Krillin is my favorite character so I wanted to show him some love & maybe get more ppl to like him. Then eventually I started drawing nsfw art.

I began doing so because there's a great lack of Krillin positive nsfw art. Eventually on my Twitter, I gathered a following that like to see Krillin getting some love. I also went from sfw with my OC Tobi to drawing nsfw. The problem I have with both is that I don't have time as much to draw what is like to. Nor do I care as much for nsfw art.

So this is what I'm trying to say. I have other things I want to do. I draw for free and accept some requests. I'm not getting paid and I feel like I'm wasting my time somewhat. The positive is that more ppl have come to like Krillin and hopefully more will later. There aren't a lot of nsfw artist that promote Krillin. Its all about Saiyans and I understand why. I like Saiyans too. But its always at the expense of human characters that I like especially Krillin.

I'm seriously tired of it, ya know? Its just such negativity. I've tried to combat it with positivity and that does work but that's not what most ppl seem to care about or see. Krillin means a lot to many of us. Yes, we know he's a fictional character but he's someone we can latch on to and see ourselves in. How he constantly tries hard and doesnt give up despite having low self-esteem. He is very relatable and an encouraging character. So understand that it frustrates me and others when ppl keep making fun of a character we love just because of memes that are very innacurate, he's short, he's married to what most of the fandom consider the most attractive female in the series (so they're jealous of him to an extent), or when ppl downright degrade his character.

Why? Why treat a positive character so negatively? Ppl make fun of Krillin because he has PTSD but won't make fun of Future Trunks. They trash his marriage and make it seem as if 18 doesn't care for him because he has the most stable marriage in the series. They call his daughter an ugly troll but want to see her in hentai with some Saiyan. Such hypocrisy. That's why I've drawn some of the things I have.

There are drawings I've done that I haven't posted because they are so disrespectful to characters like Vegeta or Gohan. And I love Gohan so that's a reason why I never posted them. I'm a positive person but it seems many ppl only respond to negative. So here's what I've done/plan to do.

I have some comics planned to draw along with some pictures. The pictures vary on what they will be, but the comics... Here's what they are.

I will be making NTR comics starring Krillin but he is the main character. There are too many of him being portrayed as a wimp or punk that lets everybody get with 18 besides himself. Or its done behind his back. So I'm going to have Krillin taking other character's ladies from them. Yeah its negative in a way but also positive for Krillin. Maybe this can get the point across to ppl? Idk.

But I will make a comic where Krillin gets Videl, Bulma, & Chichi. I will make others where he gets into "situations" with characters like Kale & Caulifla, Cheelai, & others. I also plan to make a comic about Roshi basically being cucked by Krillin (you'll have to wait and see to understand that one). So that's what I have planned. Hentai comics with Krillin as the lead. Its unpopular and that is why I do it.

I'll make other more positive comics too. Like a comic about Krillin getting advice then marrying 18. Ill draw stories with my OC Tobi as he lives with Krillin and his family & dates Marron. It will focus on the Chestnut family and have father/son moments with Krillin & Tobi. And ill introduce other characters too.

But here's the big thing that contradicts everything I said prior. I don't want to draw DB anymore. The fan base has kinda wore me out but so has the direction the series has gone. In bored of the writing for DBS and it being solely about Goku & Vegeta when there are other characters like Gohan & Piccolo. Its a fighting anime so why would we only want to see 2 characters? God ki was introduced so that's an easy way for everyone to get stronger and involved. But its too corporate now and lazy. And the DBS manga... so terrible. Toyotaro is a much better artist than I am and not to talk bad about him but I think DragonGarowLee is much better for the position that Toyo. DGL knows how to choreograph fights better and understands Toriyama's comedy better. Toyo doesn't know how to write the characters. He makes Goku an uncaring idiot, makes Vegeta a poorly written Goku clone, makes fun of Krillin for no reason except he doesn't like him (seriously! He has called him ugly, weak, scared, useless, & had ppl like Goku and Roshi insult Krillin. Wtf?!), he doesnt know how to create a unique character without ripping off a character Tori has done much better. And the fanboys (& girls)

Gosh! The Vegeta fans are great but they can be crazy sometimes. They ignore all the evil Vegeta has done and ignore his flaws as if he's a perfect angel. Vegeta's flaws is what makes him such an interesting character! And him being different than Goku is a good thing. But there's a weird and false understanding of his character. "Vegeta is a better dad than Goku" sure. Vegeta just knocked up Bulma then left her as. Single mother and didn't care if she or his infant son died, never hugged his son until he was 10+ yrs old & didn't love Bulma until sometime during the 7 yr time skip. He was a terrible person in a terrible relationship! THEN he became a better person and actually loving to his family. That change is what make Vegeta great. Not his power level or how many kills he has or "cool moments."

That same twisted misunderstanding of Vegeta is similar to the misunderstanding of Krillin. Ppl think he's weak and a coward. But he fights aliens & beings stronger than him and even injures stronger opponents. He smiles in the face of danger and even gets excited during fights but is smart enough not to risk others lives. Krillin nearly killed Nappa, he would've finished Vegeta with the Spirit Bomb if Yajirobe didn't alert Vegeta that Krillin was attacking him, smart enough not to fight on Namek when they're outnumbered, took on aliens stronger than him, outsmarted them & escaped, protected both Gohan & Bulma, more skilled than Ginyu when he was in Goku's body, sacrificed his safety for others like Dende & Gohan, (for real tho, Vegeta didn't see 2nd form Freeza move but Krillin was fast enough to throw Dende out of the way and sacrifice his life. Krillin saw Freeza attacking and Vegeta who is supposed to be stronger did not see Freeza move!), he was the first person to actually damage Freeza and then taunted the Emperor of the Universe, he's always there for his friends, knew better than everybody else that if the androids defeated Vegeta & Trunks then he shouldn't get involved. He saved 18 who was innocent in this timeline, helped 16, wished for the bombs out of 17 & 18 so they could live normally. Then fast forward to DBS he fought to protect his family & planet & 18 calls him "cool", he conquers his PTSD and gained new power he always had but laid dormant, he defeated someone who actually hurt 18. & there are things he's done I didn't even mention.

And ppl constantly saying Goku is a bad dad. He's waaaaaaaay better of a father compared to Vegeta if were being honest.

I guess I've seen a lot of the negative side of the fandom and its disappointing. So I'm at a point where I kinda don't care. I'll make my comics but after I'm done with what I have planned, I'm just done with DB. I won't stop drawing entirely but I won't draw any requests unless I feel like it, I won't keep up with much DB news and content. I just want to come back to Tumblr, draw Krillin fanart, draw Tobi, write some rewrites, draw Tobi's story & that's it. Ill be a part of Chestnut Fest every year tho. That is one of the greatest things to come out of my time on Tumblr & Twitter. So big thanks to @chestnutisland!

But basically I'm tired of the fandom and I still enjoy parts of it but I want to do my own thing. So I'll partially be a part of the DB fandom but not in it too deep. Top 5 relatable fictions characters please

1. Katara from Avatar the Last Airbender- I have always felt a connection to her. People tell me I'm just like her now and I love her as a character. Watching her as a kid she showed me that I could be a strong, bad ass women who is also motherly and kind.

2. Lissa from Fire Emblem Awakening- she is from the first FE game I have ever played and oddly enough I don't like her at all as a character and it is because we were alike when I was a kid. Her character is basically summed up with her quote "I'm not delicate!" I was a shy, extremely quiet kid with no self esteem and my Sister being older and badass from birth had to care for me and stick up for me all through my childhood. Because of this everybody thought I was weak and wouldn't trust me with any "worthy tasks". I would try to hold a knife to cut an apple and someone would take it from me because they didnt think I would do it right or I would cut myself. But I could take care of myself. My Sister was the only person who knew the real me, it was frustrating.

3.Mikasa from Attack on Titan- She is my favorite character from the series because she is kind of like how I am in my relation to people. I dont have her badass, cool demeanor but I'm quiet, observative and loyal. I will absolutely do anything to protect the 2 people I love in this world. I will help everyone in anyway I can but if anything was to happen to these 2 people I will go crazy and risk everything for them and break completely if they were to die. Everything I do is for them. I work as hard as I can everyday because I want to be able to help them and be with them just like Mikasa trained to be the best so she could keep Eren alive. I dont open up to people often but when I do I love them forever. I am actually a very vulnerable person who just wants to be loved but I dont show that to people unless I trust them just like Mikasa only shows her heart to Eren and Armin.

4. Luigi- Very weird comparison I know but Luigi will always be my favorite brother in the series. He is the youngest like me and lives in his brothers shadow. Everyone loves and remembers Mario but the people in the series are like "oh Mario's here to save everyone and Luigi will just be his backup". And that is basically what everyone thinks of when it comes to my Sister and I. I have had soooo many scenarios where people will forget my name or call me by my sisters name, even my own parents still call me by my sisters name almost every day. It used to bother me sooo much but I never took it out on my sister. I was never jealous of her or hated her for it because she is just simply better, she never saw me like others saw me, and she is more important than I am so it made sense but it still hurt my heart. But just like Mario and Luigi, Mario loves his brother and never thought of him as under him but as his equal partner and they love each other very much. Luigi's Mansion on Gamecube was the game that made me like him a lot and see myself in him because I HATE scary anything. I get spooked easily and I do NOT like being scared. But if my Sister was kidnapped you best believe I would be in there all alone fighting to save her so I respect Luigi a lot.

5. Mercedes from Fire Emblem 3 houses: I started with Blue Lion house so she was my favorite character from the game for a while. She is a kind, patient, loving person who is always helping others and I really admire that about her. She went through a lot of bullshit but she managed to not let that harden her and she chose to be a loving person who is still able to love and trust. My fiance tells me that if he went through the same things I went through that he would be callous and cruel but he tells me I'm a very kind and loving person who is a good listener and very compassionate so I feel like we are the same in that regard. Not to be mean either but she is a very bland character. She wears modest clothes and her character coloring is just natural,neutral colors. She doesnt stand out. She has a soft, warm voice like me and is a background character and I feel like I fit that description perfectly. She doesnt change the world in a big, crazy way like most fictional characters, and she is not a main character but really a background character. So in this way I feel like I am Mercedes.

Mental health and theatre: my old theatre school

This may be triggering so take procaution and do not read if you are affected by mentions of mental health issues, low self esteem, self harm etc

Yeh honestly I just use this account to give advice and share stories of experiences so others know they’re not alone mostly now. Right now I wanna talk about my old theatre school. They were great at first! They taught me so much and I definitely became more confident and learned lots of techniques in my time there. However, during my last year there my mental health deteriorated very badly. In fact when I look back at pictures of my last show I don’t feel happiness and I don’t remember all my good times there, I remember the depression and self harm I inflicted on myself and the toxicity of one of the teachers (who was very talented don’t get me wrong but she.. said the wrong things.)

I remember being singled out which I understand what she said wasn’t that bad but it pulled triggers in me and she knew about my mental health, my autism, my ocd, my depression, my anxiety, yet she never seemed to of cared.

That whole week i felt I was made to feel dumb, which hi nice to meet you is a huge trigger for me because I think I am or I think others I care about do. And I remember the girls there, they were so nice and I don’t blame them at all they were probably just all tired because of show week, but my anxiety felt their glares and whispering and that they thought I was stupid, would talk about me when I left or didn’t like me. Now I’m sure they didn’t and I know two definitely didn’t but I still had those thoughts. Anyway.. I also deal with severe (at most times severe anyway) low self esteem, there have been times when I hated myself and I think that week of my last performance with them I came very close to it. Now my self esteem obviously isn’t the performing arts schools fault, in fact I’m not trying to blame anything on them or the people there at all, sometimes it just didn’t help things. The competitiveness. The comparing of myself to others. Those are things that are so frequent in the theatre world and I wish they weren’t. The competitiveness was so strange for two classes from the SAME COMPANY (all caps so you get my point) and I guess I’m weak and got effected by it.

Anyway the origin of me telling all of this is to say, if you’re in a situation like this and you’re not happy in the club you’re in or environment, talk to someone obviously first, try make things better, but if they get more toxic like they did for me, remove yourself from the environment you’re trapped in, dont think that it’s unprofessional to do so because that’s what I thought and I almost ended up quitting my dream of theatre because of that one year, that one bad company. Also, If you’re upset and need to cry or talk to someone, DO! It helps! It’s NOT UNPROFESSIONAL TO CRY. And another reason for this is to say, don’t give up kids, cause now I’m in a production and having lots of fun with a WAYYY nicer director who asks about my mental health and remembers (oh and DOESNT slate kids with adhd after they’ve left saying they just want attention) so don’t give up! I’m so glad that year didn’t stop me from pursuing my dream.

Heatwave!

Heatwave, leader of the autobots. Big red hot boy, ready to kick ass, take names, and love babies. Snarky boy who is constantly ready to throw hands at any second and will defend his family. He takes no shit, neither will his team. Cares but will only admit it via threats. Secretly very stressed.

10/10 good boy that will fuck you up with no hesitation. The kind your parents don't want you to be with, but learn to love, given time. Great in berth.

Boulder!

Engineer of the group. Smart, strong boy that likes to draw. Not to be confused with tfa Bulkhead, as this one was generally smart, while tfa Bulkhead was more proficient in groundbridge building. Likes birds, flowers, drawing, most human things. Fan of nerdy jokes and supporting his friends. Honest boy

9/10. The pedes fuck me up everytime, its like hes earing Cybertroinian crocs. Petty, but my rating system. Overall you wanna bring this one home to the folks.

Chase!

Everyones favorite cop bot. Looks like hes all about beating up bad dudes, but is such a goober. Jokes go over his helm, but he tries to be funny. Tries so hard to do good, take things too seriously. Has good intentions, follows his spark. Is so the best study buddy you can ask for. Not a creative mech, but it doesn't stop him from trying. Is so underappreciated. Most likely makes odd purchases online.

10/10. Has such good lines, and is underestimated in his kindness for others. Also bot you wanna take home to the folks.

Blades!

Possibly everyones favorite character. Ironically hates flying, but does it for the team. Can't handle stress easily, but does shit for everyone else's sake. Makes most (if not all) the media references in the series. Would rather eat ice cream and watch cupcake hoarders than go on rescues. Has self esteem issues, needs constant validation. Can be selfish, but he learns from his mistakes.

9.5/10. I love him, but the selfish moments knocks him down a pinch. Calm down baby, world isnt ending! Bring him home to your parents after hes had a few hours to panic.

Optimus Prime!

Wiser than his TFA & TFP version, this Optimus is essentially the yoda of the group. Knows best, is such a good support and role model. Has faith in his boys. Knows what hes doing, at least 98% of the time. Humble as shit. Sees the glass as half full.

9/10. Crazy hot in this version? But him kiiinda choosing to ignore Heatwave sometimes makes him come off as kinda dick ish. Kinda. If your folks are cool with you dating a silver fox, definitely bring this one home.

Blurr!

Speedster if the group. Like Smokescreen in TFP, you wanna punch him in the face first. Pretty boy that comes at you way too fast, immediate asshole impression. Fucks up a lot. Acts before thinking. Ultimately cares. Kinda fuckboy-ish, but hes sweet at some other moments. Has untapped potential. You learn to like him, even if he's kinda dense. Also a unique look for a long standing character.

9/10. Blurr's spark is in a good place, and he has had GREAT character development, but im a bit tfa Blurr biased. At least this one didn't die. Bring home to your parents if you want, but it'll take a LONG time for him to cut his bullshit. But he'll make himself worth it. Kinda selfish in some moments.

Salvage!

Big chonk. Big, burly, boy with a southern tongue. Wants to help. Will help fix stuff around your house if you call him over. Clever boy, hates throwing things away. Likes to scavenge for nicknacks. Easy to buy for. Sometimes his inventions go haywal, but he gets all the points for trying. Probably collects odd things.

10/10. Cute chunkies with accents kill me. Plus he tries so hard for his friends. Even for Blurr, who was gonna leave him to fucking die.

Quickshadow!

Spy fem! Is gorgeous. Will insult your face in the slyest way possible, then punch it after. Calm, cool, james bond in training. Clever british. Thinks she knows best, but needs support. Never thinks of a back up plan. Didn't get enough love as she should've. Is cool and knows it

9/10. Id do 10/10 if i got to know her a bit more. Take her home to the folks, just be weary. She might boast about herself, under the impression shes being factual. Be supportive, and she'll return the favor.

Servo!

Goodest boy. Beep beep beep. Is handy, eager to help. Cutest boy on the team. Multitool all wrapped in a good boy bundle. Give him pets and love him. Will love you forever. Pls dont scold him.

10/10. Goodest boy. Robo dogs so pure

Hightide!

Commander of the seas!(and my heart). Old, irish (or scottish. Or maybe im stupid) bastard. Is great with kids, probably has some of his own. Gives shit when hes trying to make you better. Will tease you. Is down to party, often doesnt think of his affects on others. Firm handed. Will accidentally make you feel like shit, but is quick to try again in his mistakes. Sexy as hell.

10/10. Im weak for older, burly bots who talk to me like he would. Wish he had more attention.
