It’s dark outside as Lloyd walks through the front door of the Hansen castle. He’s been away since the morning, hunting down a drug dealer. He couldn’t even kiss you good morning because he left at 4am and didn’t want to wake you up. Your son is now three months old and is waking you two up every night because he’s hungry or lonely.

Lloyd really doesn’t understand how LJ can be that small when he eats that much. When LJ got the private doctor’s check up, they told you that he’s a bit small for his age. The doctor assured you two, though, that some kids just are smaller and LJ also came earlier than expected. Lloyd can still remember how small LJ was when he was born.

He may be small, but he got a strong set of lungs that he likes to use around Lloyd, mostly. The men Lloyd tortures in the basements hear the crying of the small Hansen.

Luckily, Sunshine is there to help. Lloyd knows he could never handle LJ alone. First, because LJ is a mama boy and second, because he doesn’t have boobs.

God, he loves your boobs, too.

He never thought your breast could get any more perfect, but he could have never imagined how beautiful they would get once you got pregnant. Not only that, but he literally became obsessed when your breast started to fill and he first ever got a taste of you.

The first time he tasted you, which was not your cum, you two were having some passionate sex and as Lloyd kissed your chest, he also kissed your breast. “Oh, Junior, keeping your mom up again?” Lloyd says to himself as he makes his way to LJ’s nursery. He can see the soft glow of the lamp from under the door illuminating the dark hallway. Lloyd carefully opens the door and the sight that greets him melts his heart.

You are sitting in the rocking chair, nursing your sweet boy, while humming a soft lullaby. He can see your eye bags and messy hair, which to him makes you look even more beautiful. His college self would have thrown up if he knew he was going to be a father, but now, this is all he wants.

“Hey, Sunshine” Lloyds says quietly. You look up at him with a soft but tired smile, being awake since 2am because LJ keeps screaming his lungs out for you.

“Hey, Moonlight” you answer, tilting your head titling, as he walks towards you. “You are late”.

“I know. My work wasn’t really cooperative” he says and kisses your forehead. Your attention goes back to LJ as he grabs your finger. Lloyd follows and looks down at his son. “Hello to you too, my hungry little boy. Been keeping your mom up the whole night, haven’t you?”.

LJ pulls your finger closer at that, like he understands what Lloyd is saying, making him chuckle. His eyes slowly start to close as he continues to suck on your nipple.

Lloyd looks at you as his son starts to fall asleep.

“Was he a lot of trouble tonight?” he asks seriously, kneeling next to the chair.

“Define trouble”.

Lloyd chuckles, “Did he wake you up a lot of times? Was he just hungry, in need of a diaper change or did he just want mama?”.

“Two times. After the second time I just stayed awake because he wanted the full care package” you say caressing your son’s cheek. Even though he’s been eating, you are still full, which makes your breast hurt.

Lloyd notices how you keep changing your position in the chair while making sure LJ doesn’t stir. A grin flashes on Lloyd’s face.

“You know, when LJ is done and asleep, I could help you. I haven’t had a taste from your milk in a long time” he whispers, kissing your neck. You both know, he had them two weeks ago. “Come on, they taste so-“.

Before he can finish, LJ screams at the top of his lungs, a bit of milk still on his lips. His hand pulling your shirt closer. Lloyd rolls his eyes before looking at you.

“You see that, Sunshine?! He is stealing you away from me and now your boobs” he looks down at his son, “they were mine before you were here. I called dibs back then”.

Like LJ understands, he screams louder and kicks his legs, hitting his dad, making him hiss.

“See! LJ just kicked me, Sunshine” Lloyd says, rubbing his arm. While Lloyd complains, LJ starts screaming louder.

“Ok both of you calm down” you say, tucking your breast back in your sport bra and putting LJ on your chest, rubbing his back. “Lloyd, LJ is a baby. Because of him I produce what you fancy so much”.

“But-“.

“No, Lloyd. He calls dibs on them when he’s hungry, ok?”.

“Sunshi-“ Lloyd tries again.

“You can have them when LJ is not needing them”.

“But I-“.

“Either that or no boobs for you, Mr Hansen” you say. Lloyd looks like a kicked puppy. It doesn’t make it any better that he knows that his infant son is probably smiling right now.

Eventually, Lloyd nods in defeat and lays his head on your lap. A smile breaks out on your face as a pouty Lloyd is now hiding his face in your lap. You comb your fingers through his short hair, which slightly lifts Lloyd’s mood.

Sharing her boobs, or to be more correct, his Sunshine, was never something Lloyd had planned, but now he needs to.

It could be worse, though.

So I know there's been a lot of discussion going around lately about Jay constantly having to hold back on his powers, but the question I've been wondering is do you think the others know? Do you think the other ninja know that Jay has been holding back the ENTIRE time? I feel like Wu would definitely know since he's probably the one who helped teach Jay how to have better control over his powers to where he doesn't accidentally kill someone. I also feel like maybe Zane and Pixal would be able to figure it out since they're nindroids and they may be able to like... scan Jay and figure out he's only using a small amount of his power. But I feel like Lloyd, Cole, Kai and Nya probably don't know, or if they do, they don't realize just HOW much Jay has to hold back. (Although maybe Lloyd does know since at the start of the series he could control all four elements of creation but idk)

Cause like... thinking back to season 4 for a specific example, when Jay and Cole had to fight each other, Jay was freaking out because he thought he didn't stand a chance against Cole, and then Neuro reveals that Cole also thinks Jay doesn't stand a chance. But like, if Cole knew just how powerful Jay is when he isn't holding back, then I don't think he would think that. Because even though Jay would never use his full power to fight Cole, no matter how mad he was at him, Cole might not see it that way and would probably have that tiny amount of doubt telling him, "Jay could literally kill you with his powers, you should be worried." And yeah, that's still pretty early on in the grand scheme of things and it's possible Jay could have said something to him at a later point, but idk.

And the other thing is that even if Jay did tell them, would they even fully believe him? Because Jay can be really dramatic about things so I feel like it isn't too unlikely to say that the other ninja would kinda downplay what Jay tells them. Cause if Jay said, "Hey guys, you don't understand just how strong my powers are. I constantly need to be holding back and it can be really exhausting sometimes." The other ninja might think of it like, "Yeah, we all need to hold back sometimes and all of our powers have some sort of strain on us, it's not a big deal"

Idk I just have a lot of thoughts about Jay and how strong he would be if he didn't need to hold back and all of the discussion that's been going around lately has just caused this to be on my mind constantly. It's definitely something that I want to explore more in my fics and aus and stuff because I find it super interesting to think about.

Kai x Skylor: the two of them balance each other well, plus seeing Kai get all lovey-dovey around Skylor is just cute.

Lloyd x Akita: Akita likes Lloyd for himself and isn’t interested in his status as the Green Ninja, she just might be the one person he could be with without having to worry about keeping up appearances.

Fun fact, I used to hate Jaya. I thought it was really forced in the canon, and Jay's really obsessive behavior that is the catalyst for all of the events in Skybound always really bothered me? But tumblr has completely turned me around on this ship. They have their moments in canon, but in fanon they're really wonderful. thanks tumblr <3

these two...... 🥺they are really good i will admit. I'm a big fan of glaciershipping myself and I tend to prefer it over pixane, but these two are so lovely to each other and i totally see the appeal. I just wish pixal wasn't so sidelined in the canon fr what were they doing with her character??? let her be around more often let her and zane be sweet together. please smh

SKYLOR ALSO HAS NOTHING TO DO MOST OF THE TIME-- honestly this show sidelines like all of its female characters so hard. but these two are great toooo theyre sweeeet 😊 i just wish skylor was used for more than cameos. i like that she's the only one that can consistently shake kai's ego it's a great dynamic

lloyd and akita!! i'm gonna be so real with you guys i forget about akita so often ;v; which is a shame... i give her the award for most sidelined female character because she existed for half a season. but she and lloyd are sweet! I don't tend to ship lloyd with anyone personally, but i do love that they meet under the circumstances of "lloyd is in a world where his name and status mean nothing so he has no pressure to perform". it's a fantastic break for him. holy shit he deserves it

im gonna be so honest with all of you um. i actually. havent seen MotM yet. i was in the middle of my rewatch, and i got up to the point i stopped, right before MotM, and then Netflix changed their watch policies. and then of course i got busy

but from what i've seen of these two in fanon they seem alright! I usually prefer them in other wlw or mlm ships because of ONE ninjago vine compliation thing i saw with the two of them as this one tiktok and i've never been able to think of them as a couple since then. But they seem like they have a lovely friendship, whether that ends up turning to romance or not!

I see Autistic/ADHD Lloyd headcanons all the time, but none for his parents which is weird because both ADHD and Autism are genetic. So lets fix that, and during Autism Awareness month no less, yay, #RedInstead bitches!

Autistic Garmadon and ADHD Misako Headcanons (for Autism Month!)

Misako hate is not welcome, we don't do that here, you will be blocked. Autistic Misako headcanons are welcome, I love you if you have that headcanon :). I'm autistic and adhd, so a lot of these will be based on my experience, and I'll try to keep it mostly fluff headcanons, featuring a little bit of Lloyd's autism and adhd <3

Autistic Garmadon

He and Lloyd share a lot of the same autistic traits

Like how if you distrupt the routine or there's a change in established plans both of them will start getting anxious and irritated

You don't distrupt the routine! Stick to the schedule damn it-

Or how both of them CANNOT stand bright lights, never turn on the overhead light, lamps and low lights only. and only predictable/controlled loud noises like music is ok, other loud noises bad

Also they both auditory stim ALL the time. Same song on repeat for days until the new favorite comes along, and they have the same taste in music (rock and punk), so while working on stuff or training one on one they'll blast the same song on repeat

Also both of them are hyperempathetic and get emotional very easily. Hence why they're a lot more emotional and open around each other

Also the Pathological Demand Avoidance is VERY STRONG with both of them. tell them to do something and they'll immediately dread and despite that thing and that thing is the last thing they want to do. (i.e. *is about to go do the dishes* "Hey can you do the dishes?" ... "I was about to. Even wanted to. Now I hate them and that's the last thing I want to do. Thanks for that. Fuck you.")

Both of them also have a very hard time unmasking (for different but similar reasons of how their childhood was), and get exhausted and burnt out fast. Luckily being around each other helps them unmask a bit easier

Garmadon loves Mac-n-Cheese, he'd eat just that for the rest of his life if he could. But only Misako's recipe, all other Mac-n-Cheese tastes WRONG (Lloyd also loves Mac-n-Cheese, but only his mom's recipe)

Sometimes he straight up forgets to talk. Like, he doesn't need to, he doesn't like talking to people, and he just... forgets that he has the ability to talk. So sometimes he might go a while without talking, thinking nothing of it. Then he'll vocal stim or use his voice and shock himself a little because oh shit i forgot i have a voice-

He hid it for a while because he thought it was embarrassing, but he has a huge special interest in sharks, and he is the number one shark defender, he could talk about them for hours (his favorite species is the Lemon Shark and Cookiecutter Shark <3).

^After he starts unmasking a bit he starting being a bit more open about it as well, and that year for his birthday Misako gets him a shark onsie. He just about melts, immediately puts it on, and wears it almost every night. (She thinks its adorable)

For a really long time, he thought the things he was experiencing were a side effect of being part dragon/oni, but then Wu told him "I don't experience any of that, sorry." and then he thought it was a side effect of the venom, but then after the Final Battle it was gone AND HE WAS STILL EXPERIENCING ALL THESE TRAITS, so he couldn't figure out wtf was wrong with him

^Misako was like "Idk sounds normal to me *shrug*" (She has ADHD, of course it sounds normal to her XD)

Lloyd knew he was autistic and adhd for a while because of the other ninja, who were also varying neurodivergencies. When he told his parents about it, they both didn't think anything of it because they didn't know it was genetic yet.

Then Garmadon found out it was genetic and was like "No... me? No way... I'm just an anxious introvert, there's no way."

Then he takes like ten different online assessment tests, and is like "Yeah, i knew it, i knew i wasn't autistic, those questions were worded dumb anyway. No I don't have a problem with socks, you see I have a system-"

And then Lloyd (who connected the dots once he found out autism was genetic) was like, "Dad... Dad... that- that is autistic... having a system for socks to avoid having problems with socks, avoiding places with loud noises and bright lights, and prefering to be by yourself or in silence is very autistic..."

Garmadon: "WHAT"

They figured out how to unmask and fuction as their authentic selves together and it's awesome

ADHD Misako

Similarly, she and Lloyd share a lot of ADHD traits

Like fidgeting, A LOT, always needing extra stimulation and needing to fidget. Usually with nail biting or lip chewing, until they learn less self destructive stims

They also hyperfixate in the same way. Both of them will get lost in the hyperfixation for hours, forgetting to eat, drink or sleep. until they try to stand up or someone reminds them. (Lloyd hyperfixates on comics the same way she hyperfixates on archeology)

Both of them have the worst sense of time and object perception. ("Oh yeah that project will only take fifteen minutes" *takes four hours*) (*losing track of important items and forgetting to eat ro drink water all the time*)

Rejection sensitive dysphoria is very strong for both of them, constantly worrying about annoying other people and being a burden, so they're people pleasers a lot and the slightest whiff of rejection sends them into a self hate spiral that can last for days or weeks (It took a very long time for her to get out of the self hate spiral after her and Lloyd meeting for the first time and him blowing up at her, which she thought she deserved for her huge mistake that she deeply regretted. Eventually they talked and Lloyd came to her and said she shouldn't hate herself forever, he wanted her to be his mom, and she could make up for it now. She still gets into that spiral sometimes.)

Also both of them zone out a lot. Sometimes many thoughts. Sometimes zero thoughts. Staring into space (they love car rides for this reason)

Both of them can be very all or nothing in a lot of things. No social interaction or all the social interaction. Doesn't talk at all or can't shut up. Constantly overshooting it.

Also due to the lack of object perception, both of them are kind of terrible at driving. They can't tell how far away the signs are until they're right in front of it, and are always taking turns that are way too big. Over or underestimating distance a lot. (Garmadon is a pretty terrible driver too, he gets overwhelmed easily). (Also Kai and Nya can confirm that teaching Lloyd to drive was a nightmare, Zane had to do it)

Always hyperfixating on something archeology/history related, she's a huge nerd and cycles through ten different topics (she was a weird kid that liked the morbid stuff in history). Usually dinosaurs, she's secretly obsessed with dinosaurs and hyperfixates on them all over again every other week. A lot of the time Garmadon has to remind her to eat or sleep because she'll be lost in hyperfixation for several hours.

Also has a lot of anxiety and has a hard time sitting still, always has to be moving or fidgeting with something in her hands

Similar to Garmadon, she didn't think anything of it when Lloyd told her he had ADHD, and when she found out it was genetic she thought, "No, it couldn't be me, I just have anxiety..."

She was in denial about it for a while, until Lloyd talked to her with Kai and Jay (Also ADHDers).

Kai asked, "Your teachers sent a lot of notes home about you being 'a pleasure to have in class' weren't you?"

Misako: "How the fuck did you know?"

Kai: "That was me before I had to drop out. I was the perfect little teacher's pet. So was Nya."

Misako sat there for a minute having a crisis because everything made sense now but also like no way, really?

She and Garmadon love talking about prehistoric sharks like the Megladon because that's where their interests intersect

^he also gets her dinosaur encyclopedias every year for her birthday and she loves it (they have diagrams of skeletons and fossils and stuff)

Ninja as influencers

My previous post got me thinking, and now I have to write this down.

Kai:

He for sure has Twitter/Chirp and uses it regularly. Very popular. He also has the ninjago equivalent to Instagram and is also very popular there, too. I could imagine him having a yt channel and doing silly vlogs and the occasional game, but that's about it. The other ninja were a bit weirded out by the vlogs at first because they didn't really want to feed into the whole idolizing the ninja thing, but realized that they could show the world that they're just. People. Normal people who save the world sometimes but are normally just passed out on the couch. They all love being in his vlogs now. When he records something embarrassing, he makes absolutely certain that the person it's of is okay with it being posted. Like, he gives them weeks to think about it. He has a video of Zane singing let it go (due to Jay's programming skills), and he was ecstatic to be able to post it. He's also a tiktok star. He does the silly dances and lip-syncing.

Nya:

She has Chirp but doesn't use it for social media purposes? If that makes sense. Like, she mainly only scrolls through her friends' chirps and responds to those. She gets into the groove and made a really sweet and chill community once the people that were only there for the "inside scoop" of the water ninja's life left. Now there's just her friends and a bunch of nice people. She comments on and rechirps? a lot of fanart, though. She has an Instagram but only to comment on Kai's posts with a thumbs down. She has a tiktok. It's secret. She posts little edits about her artwork or mechanics. It's fairly popular. She sometimes uses the filters and makes videos using them but never posts them.

Cole:

Similar to Nya, he has a Chirp account but doesn't really use it much. He'll respond to fanart and fans, but he only really posts occasionally. His posts normally consist of song recommendations or riffs of his friends. He threads callouts when he feels especially petty. It's pretty chill. He probably has a secret second account for art. He doesn't want people to like his art just because he's the earth ninja, so he made a second account. He has a tumblr too. I don't make the rules. He tries to stay in the loop with everyone's thoughts and shuts down the gross people. He's pretty well-known on the site. He likes reblogging the ship content and misdirecting people because it's funny. Pixal found him drawing techno and he scrambled for an excuse but she silently put a finger to her lip, winked, and left. He was very confused. She was absolutely dying on the inside from laughter because she knew of his account but wanted to freak him out. He couldn't look her in the eye for a week because he thought she thought he shipped them or something. She purposefully spoke to him often. He kept trying to explain, but Pixal always had an excuse to leave or change the subject before he could say it.

Lloyd:

He has Chirp. He has tumblr. He has ao3. He's not allowed on Instagram. He has a yt channel where he exclusively talks about comics and games. On his Chirp, he is completely unhinged some times, and other times, he posts cute animals he finds on missions or on patrol. He found a stray cat once and named her mittens because a follower commented it. He has #mittensmonday, where he posts a picture of her. It's always trending on Monday. His tumblr is once again about games and stuff, but he has a semi-secret side blog for Ninja Shenanigans where it's theorized that it's him, but no one has proof and he doesnt give a direct answer. He has unknowingly reblogged and messaged Cole on multiple occasions because he doesn't know about the Secret account. Cole doesn't know what to do. His ao3 account is mostly to check up on what people are thinking. If he sees something unsavory, he immediately logs off because that's him. Avid tiktok enjoyer. He could make a video of just him staring at the screen, and it would go viral. He finds it hilarious. It's his goal to find the most obscure thing to post and for it to finally not get viral.

Zane:

He has Chirp, but he hasn't used it. Either that or he uses it so terribly incorrectly. I could be convinced that he has a cooking yt channel. He'd call it something nerdy or informational, but people kept chirping about it calling him cookingmama, and he doesn't get it? But due to Jay's persistence, he changed his @ to cookingmama.

Jay:

He has Chirp. He uses it to keep up with the world + just talk to fans. He has a gaming channel and a Twitch account. He streams at least once a week. He loves it! He has a pretty chill community, and he often asks his friends to play with him. He makes sure that the games he play with them are suited to them first. He doesn't ask. He just knows. He picks action-based games for Kai - maybe LoL or, like, Left 4 dead. He plays silly smart games with Nya, like Portal or Keep talking and nobody explodes (they are ridiculously good at this). He and Cole would play scary games. They exclusively play them at night; phasmaphobia has caused many of the ninja to awaken to a shriek. Comfy and typically non-violent games are his and Lloyd's go-to. They'll play Minecraft or stardew for HOURS before they realize the sun is coming up. He and Zane play semi-stressful cooking games, or Zane is just there for commentating. They'll be seen playing overcooked or cooking simulator (they always play that one with a challenge somehow). He makes silly follower goals, and he has unfortunately had to do many, many things because his followers keep rising.

Honorary Ninja, Pixal:

She has an account for every platform that the ninja have just to crowd control + to support them in their comments. She rarely, if ever, posts anything aside from commenting on her friends' posts. Hc that Borg owns every platform, so she uses that to weed out the weirdos by asking him to make the platform very buggy on their device specifically. It's only a matter of time before they delete the app, and she loves watching the downfall via their posts and complaints about the website. She knows of everyone's account, even the Secret ones. She never lets them know that she knows of them, even if they do something strange because of it (check Cole's). She loves messing with them. If someone posts something recently, she conveniently talks about it the same day and gives them whiplash because what are the chances that she said that today. She's the go-to gal if there are any tech issues on stream or during editing.

Watching him in the shadows might have been your best idea; you could help but believe no way, how could Lloyd be the green ninja? Just looking at him made you laugh, and those ridiculous “ninja kicks,” or how he’s yelling about being the green ninja, you could definitely beat him in fight.

You held your laughter as best as you could since you didn’t want to hurt the feelings of the scary green ninja.

“Ninja go!” He yelled before spinning around, which made you burst out laughing so hard, which scared Lloyd as you revealed yourself. “WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!” Lloyd screamed, but you couldn’t stop laughing, holding your stomach because of how much you were laughing.

"No..wa-HAHAHA"

You wheezed through laughter, "nice...nice spinjitzu.” You gasped for air to catch a breath, but it just wasn’t working that well as you tried to control your laughter. After some seconds, you were able to catch your breath, wiping away a tear that escaped. “A amazing green ninja you are," you snickered.

watching him get mad “Don’t make fun of me! I’m the green ninja that’s going to save  Ninjago!" He whines, crossing his arms and turning his body away from you as if he were embarrassed.

How would the other ninja + Master Wu react to see Kai as an Anacondrai?

(CW I drew some partially topless Kai in this. Also. This got way longer than I thought it would)

Well they don't really have a whole lotta time to process that initially. The first time everyone sees it is when Kai shows up on his elemental dragon with Skylor and then they immediately head off to Ninjago to stop Chen. There's time to talk on the dragon ride over the ocean and the brief stops at the underground HQ.

I feel like there'd be much more of a reaction to the Mark of the Anacondrai itself, because it amplifies Kai's betrayal. Him having it suggests he's turned not just to Chen's side, but also joined the Anacondrai cult as well. This would probably mean Nya and Garmadon don't automatically realize "oh he's playing a longer con" even after he winks at them in the snake pit. (It also means Sensei Garmadon sees another parallel with himself and Kai later on, in that they both took on the marks and then later turned on Chen)

I figure that Chen would relish in that and would actively have Kai show off the Mark. So, all the masters see Kai's mark when they interrupt the Ceremony. He has to explain himself to them very quickly after the Ceremony fight to avoid getting attacked (especially if any of them saw him going bonkers with Chen's Staff)

(I do think it'd be fun though if the guards at the factory gossiped about one of the Elemental Masters getting the Mark of the Anacondrai, though, so that the imprisoned masters are all suddenly worried that one of the few left in the fight have switched sides)

Jay would probably make a joke about Kai's new ink, Cole would point out how dangerous his plan was once he hears about it, and Zane would agree. Zane also ices the tattoo to help with the pain and swelling, even if its not as effective after, like, however long he's had it (timeline is iffy but it's not more than like three days I think).

(If you wanna keep the angst going, too, the fact that Kai essentially goes missing while searching for Skylor would probably bring up some doubts in the other masters, and maybe even his own team, about whether he could still be pulled onto Chen's side -especially with Skylor as a possible bargaining chip- at that point.)

Once Kai's been turned into an Anacondrai though, not a whole lot changes. Jay's initial reaction is also jokes because... what else are you supposed to say to your friend who has turned into a snake man? Cole is probably the one to prompt him to try and play with the invisibility ability cause That's a Cool Power, Dude. Generally looking on the upside with it. Zane's got a little bit of scientific interest in the whole transformation.

Lloyd just. Doesn't fully process it. He does promise Kai immediately though that they'll turn him back to normal (because its Lloyd. He feels responsible for his big brother being in this situation even though he shouldn't). He's genuinely relieved when they start turning back when the spell begins to wear off.

Kai does not like Lloyd putting responsibility on turning him back on himself, especially cause Kai betrayed and still definitely feels bad about it and the act he had to put on for it to work.

The Ninja all do pay close attention, though, because they're obviously worried about Kai's well being, but also... What if Kai likes being an Anacondrai (once he adjusts to fighting like one)? What if he wants to stay that way? What if Kai's turning to Chen's side wasn't entirely fake?

Kai sticks close to Skylor during their time as Anacondrai as much as possible because he's kinda freaked out by himself and doesn't want everyone to keep looking at him like.... well, like he's turned into a snake man.

Wu doesn't have any notable reaction to Garmadon as an Anacondrai, but I feel like he'd be very confused and a little freaked out on why one of his students is also one now. He gives Kai a very disapproving look when he learns how it happened because that was incredibly dangerous Kai. He doesn't really scold him though cause 1. Not the time. 2. Kai's plan worked. 3. No one knew that the mark would turn him into a snake.

Also, you didn't mention the folks at Kryptarium, but they almost definitely poke fun at Kai for being a snake now when they recognize him. Pythor finds it very funny that one of the Ninja is now a snake.

The worst reaction to Kai's Anacondrai form is definitely when they land in Ninjago City and people start freaking out because there are Serpentine on a Dragon made of Fire.

You guys met when he was on a mission

The ninjas were on the hunt for an ancient magical artifact, which you just happened to remember finding as a child

You guided them through the wilderness, secretly doubting your own navigational skills

That and the fact that you weren’t sure it was even there anymore made you obviously anxious

Lloyd, who was following the closest behind you, noticed the way you chewed your cheek and wiggled your fingers

You locked eyes once, and the look he gave you was the gentlest, most trusting yet understanding look you’d ever seen

Your anxiety melted away as you gazed into his deep green eyes

Then, realizing you were staring, you giggled awkwardly and apologized

That was how your very first conversation began

Lloyd was just trying to keep you calm so you could focus, but he completely forgot his goal when you mentioned Starfarer

“You like Starfarer?”

“Yeah, haha. I know it’s a little childish—”

“I love Starfarer!”

“No kidding?!”

Honestly, you had no idea where you were at that point

You were just taking random turns while you gushed about the series

By some miracle, you eventually found the artifact

On the way back, Lloyd explained what it was and what he needed it for

You thought he was so cool

You demanded to have him update you when the mission was completed

You exchanged numbers before finally departing

Less than five minutes after he left, you guys were already texting up a storm

You found out you actually had much more in common than being Starfarer fans; for one, you both loved video games

You compared which games you’d played and which you hadn’t, making vague promises to get together and play the ones you hadn’t

Needless to say, you guys text a lot

Lloyd is frequently gone on missions, but he always keeps his phone nearby

Calling you is his favorite way to pass the time when traveling

You keep him updated on more worldly matters, like when a new Starfarer comic is going to be released

He tells you about his fantastic adventures in return

Secretly, you both think to yourselves as the other speaks: Man, they’re the coolest person in the whole world…

Lloyd tries to visit whenever he can

Playing video games and goofing off with you always makes his day

He’ll lie awake at night recollecting your jokes and bursting into laughter all over again

You lie awake at night envisioning him on his missions, your heart racing as you picture him escaping peril time and time again

So, when one of you texts the other late at night, you’re both awake anyway

Your late night texts are different from daytime texts

You talk about deeper things: life, death, your pasts, anything and everything

You don’t really do this when you meet up; no, that time is reserved for teasing and goofing off ONLY

But you both sort of wish you did talk like that in real life, though neither of you bring it up

You just push down that stirring in your chests when you sit just a bit too close, or when you stare for half a second too long at your friend’s face

I Analyzed The Ninjago Movie Instead Of Sleeping

I have real mixed feelings on this movie. But not for the reasons you might think from a fan of the TV show.

The movie didn’t NEED to be connected to the show. And it clearly wasn’t trying to.

It was meant to be an AU in a way.

(If you look at the behind the scenes one of their original rewrites was a plot of them going back in time to save Lloyd’s dad from becoming the villainous figure he is in the present day.)

So I can forgive the inaccuracy so long as it could stand on its own as a proper story.

It doesn’t do that.

If you DON’T compare it to the show:

You got a movie with SOME good jokes, amazing animation, (SERIOUSLY THIS MOVIE LOOKS BEAUTIFUL AND VISUALS ALONE ARE A CHEFS KISS TO ME) but is so strangely paced that it feels like the movie starts at the middle of the story and never shows the beginning, and feels like a completely different movie halfway through, and is also very choppily edited.

(I even double checked a clip of the movie just to prove my point there: When Lloyd uses all his dragon mech weapons on Garmadon, they play the exact same sound effect and explosion, just with different angles, SIX TIMES. FSM WAS THAT EDITOR HUNG OVER WHEN DOING THEIR JOB THAT DAY?! And that’s just one example I’ve got. I think this was the first time EVER when I was in a movie theater and I distinctly remember asking “What is wrong with the editing here? Who thought this was good editing?? Who thought this was appropriate in any way???” So I thank this movie for giving me such a memory and making me value good editing.)

You also got a world that isn’t very well fleshed out, characters that the movie chooses to not focus on except the main character and the main villain. And you got a movie that tells its audience it’s okay to forgive your parents that neglected you and are active terrorists even if they earned or done absolutely no redemption whatsoever.

I mean Garmadon in this movie BETRAYS them and leaves them to rot so he could terrorize the city again at the end. Then gets eaten by the cat. Then Lloyd forgives him. Idk what more you want me to say.

I’m not gonna act like Crystalized did it any better though. Pick your poison.

But then you got fans of the show. The people who watched the show since kids (that includes me). Who are naturally bias towards the shows lore and characterization…

OOOOOOHHH boy…

I don’t hate EVERY portrayal of the ninja in the movie as much as other people. I actually think there’s some good ideas for an AU version of these characters here. Problem is the movie never does anything with them.

Well, I say I don’t hate every portrayal, the one I truly cannot stand is Zane’s.

There’s just so much wrong with how they portrayed Zane that it just does not work. Not as an adaptation of the character. Not in any way that makes sense for this universe and is actually kinda insulting.

There’s no other robots in this city. (Like there are in the show) Why is Zane the only one and why is he in high school? Why would Wu ever pick a robot to be a ninja?

In the show the reason is pretty simple: Wu didn’t know at the time.

But everyone knows in the movie. What’s movie Wu’s excuse?

There’s also in terms of personality.

Keep in mind later seasons of the show have the same issues, so I’m talking about what it was at the time of the movie.

Zane’s whole robot identity is crucial to his character. The show introduced him as ‘the strange one’. As he couldn’t understand social cues, took things very seriously, didn’t share the same sense of humor as the rest of the team, had a hard time displaying his emotions, and bonded with things the others didn’t and excelled at certain areas like cooking.

He’s a character that connected to a lot of neurodivergent people in the audience who could relate to him. No he’s not intentional autistic rep, but one that definitely mattered to the people that headcannoned him as such.

(Also helps that they introduce other robot characters later that clearly don’t have the same characteristics he does. So really it depends on what you see.)

So the reveal that he was a robot was such a huge deal to not just the plot but to him as he finally got a concrete definition of what he is and who he is. And the show NEVER decides to say “You know, it would be so much better if you were a human!”

“Why can’t you just be normal?!”

That’s part of why I personally can’t stand fics that make Zane human. It just doesn’t feel right to me and misses the point of the character.

While I absolutely did not expect the movie to cover his… really heavy backstory with his inventor/father and how he outlived him, then got his memory and sense of identity wiped by him moments before death, which was meant to be an act of sympathy but would actually harm Zane’s mentality for the entire show…

The movie didn’t need to adapt that. For all we know, movie Zane could have a very happy backstory. And that would be fine. All I wanted was for the identity-seeking aspect of Zane’s character to matter in some way.

It didn’t.

The jokes they use for Zane in this movie are that of “Haha, he’s a robot. Isn’t it so funny that he doesn’t understand humanity very well?”

You know, something that in one episode of the show was portrayed as a BAD THING for people to think that of him! And that those people needed to learn to respect him for who he is!

And that’s the ONLY thing they do with him. Just robot jokes. Very stereotypical robot jokes.

Again, later seasons of the show are guilty of this too. So I will not act like the show is perfect.

For the reasons I listed, these are actually far more offensive and harmful than you think. Especially fans of the show watching the movie. Him being the only robot in this movie world makes me think even more that this actually is autistic coding… and that makes it so much worse.

Zane being a robot being equal to autism is its own discussion. And has its own problems on paper alone. Whether or not this is your headcanon of him, and whether or not you think this is good representation either way is up to your feelings and experiences. (Personally I think it’s better than some live action shows attempting this)

The others don’t even seem to trust or want to be around him that much. The others seem annoyed by him half the time. Like they’re only tolerating him because he’s on their team. Yeah they don’t say that but simple looks and gestures are enough to get that impression. And not once does anyone ever express Zane’s value in their team. That’s the ONE thing that would’ve had me forgive this all.

But there’s my rant. The others?

Jay is mostly fine. I think this personality for the movie is a neat AU concept. Yes show Jay is openly terrified of things and awkward, but if there’s something he wasn’t was SHY.

Movie Jay is a shy and nervous wreck. And you know what? For a high school AU, I think it works. It doesn’t erase Jay’s essence entirely. They at the very least kept the detail of his character that he’s a fast learner.

I appreciate that.

Cole is actually a REALLY interesting concept to me with the AU idea they gave.

On the surface it’s just ‘He’s a DJ and willingly old school’

But if you see the show, this is actually an ODD approach. Because show Cole has a very complicated relationship with music.

In the show, Cole’s parents thrived in singing and dancing. His father specifically was a performer that won several awards with his band ‘The Royal Blacksmiths’. After Cole’s mother passed away, his father proceeded to push his ideals and his passions onto his kid and pressuring him to become another version of him. It got stressful enough that Cole ran away from home and resented music, something that used to be a bond of family for them, and that’s where Wu found him and made him a ninja.

Throughout the show, Cole would open up to music again more, but it’s pretty gradual and a very subtle bit of character development for him throughout the show. He doesn’t need to say “I hate making music” to get the point across. He only starts the music route again whenever it has something to do with making a family member, blood or not, happy.

So movie Cole is interesting to me for that reason. Because at the start, he basically IS a mini Lou. His whole thing is music and it’s heavily reflected on his personality.

To the point where his element in the movie isn’t even animated or portrayed as earth like it’s supposed to, instead it’s… sound waves?

Weird choice. Interesting one though cause maybe that’s just how movie Cole functions.

So it’s “Oh, what if Cole DID follow in his fathers footsteps and DID want to become a musician?”

Very interesting approach for a completely different approach of character development.

But the problem? Just like the others, not utilized.

But I do think this was an interesting AU idea. Is it accurate to the show version of the character? No. But that’s kind of the point I think.

Then there’s the RGB siblings. This is where it gets kinda weird for me.

Thanks to the movie, a lot of my friends mistook Kai and Nya for being twins.

They are not twins in the show. Kai is older.

I don’t think that dents their characters too much in the movie so long as the same points were across. They’re the blood related brother and sister who raised themselves when their parents abandoned them, and climbed out of the ashes to protect each other, and found a new expansion on their family that didn’t have to be blood related to count.

These two, in different ways, are the support of the team and especially Lloyd. They’re usually the lancer characters that Lloyd goes to when he can.

I still say that about Nya even though originally, she was NOT a ninja, but rather was a Samurai with a mech of her own invention that acted as a Tuxedo Mask for the ninja. She didn’t become the water ninja until Season 5.

Which… I know the movie takes heavy inspiration from the first two seasons, the beginning, so for those who haven’t seen the show watching the movie… yikes I feel bad about the lack of a spoiler warning. Same goes for Zane being a robot.

But I think that’s also a factor into Kai, at the former half of this show, (again I’m talking pre-movie with this). He was the first character we were introduced to and we’re following in the show before Lloyd ever showed up. So naturally he’d be the one with the most attention to supporting the Green Ninja. Something that was very vital character development for him individually as well.

He’s the old school one. He’s the cool one. He’s the one who looks out for you even if you don’t want them to. He’s the one that will jump to anything without thinking. He’s also the one with the most value in tradition out of the ninja, as a blacksmith instead of a techie and as a traditional sword fighter rather than a fancy complicated weapon. He doesn’t get involved in tech willingly till he learns Twitter is a thing.

And in the movie, I think they took this characterization and said “Eh, give it to the girl instead.”

So most of show Kai’s character traits are now movie Nya’s. She’s the cool one with the most passion for traditional stories, she’s the one with arguably the most talks with Lloyd to calm him, and she’s pretty loud and brash in personality.

Not saying show Nya is not those things, she is. But the difference in the show was that Nya was HUGE on independence and doing her own thing. Being the only woman and a younger sibling in the main cast is actually a big deal to her. Not wanting to have her destiny be decided by the world or her brother as a damsel in distress or a sacrifice, she took to tech to invent her own ways of helping. Her own character.

Until destiny told her “Actually no, you can’t be the person you want to be. You have to stick to tradition that your mother had and be the water ninja.”

That’s… honestly a very brutally honest message that not a lot of people I see give credit for. Cause yes, expressing yourself and being your own person and being able to make your own fate is amazing… but it’s not always possible.

Sometimes you can’t be the person you want. Sometimes the world just will not let you. That doesn’t mean your identity is worthless, though. If you go with the flow, you can actually find that fate has plans for you that might not suck after all.

Basically a ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’ messaging there.

It’s part of why Nya’s whole thing throughout the show is her starting as a damsel trying to reinvent herself and her stereotype, and ending as a willing sacrifice and death of her whole identity that she doesn’t regret because she’s embraced the flow of life and purpose. Even if she forgets herself in the realm of spirituality, her loves one’s never will.

…Until Crystalized undid ALL of that. BUT LETS NOT.

Movie Nya just really isn’t any of that. She’s basically just her brother.

Which… I’m actually fine with. The show has some bumps in the road in execution of her story anyway. And they want the only female of this team to not be a background character cause that’s look bad. I totally understand that. And her being a sibling to Kai makes me forgive it a whole lot more cause it does make sense.

But again, we don’t know what their lives are like or if they have similar backstories to theirs in the show at all.

But where does that leave Kai?

Well his whole character in the movie seems to basically be “I’m the loud one and a complete klutz and meathead.”

Basically TD Tyler.

It’s a personality in the movie that bled in the show post movie. While I personally think it was not THAT bad in the show, Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitsu made me go “Okay. I understand now.”

As for movie Kai, that’s really about it.

It really was an early indicator of just giving Kai’s character traits to other characters. Before the show was visibly doing it.

Cause movie Lloyd is also basically just Kai but with a different backstory and context to situation. But honestly, I DO see what they were going for here.

As the ONLY ninja to get ANY focus, this version of Lloyd is well explained on what his life is.

In the show, he’s an abandoned child in an abusive boarding school who heavily idolizes his father, Lord Garmadon, and runs away to become a super villain. Only for Destiny to tell him not to, and we see his true colors and that he just wanted his family together and to love him. Something that was… hard. Considering who Garmadon is.

That is actually carried into the movie. Just cut out him running away. Here’s the difference.

Show Lloyd loves his dad and refuses to hurt him until he has to. While he is the Green Ninja, he didn’t resent himself being Garmadon’s son. What he resented was the destiny that took them apart.

Movie Lloyd HATES his dad for abandoning him, terrorizing the city, making said city cancel him for EXISTING, and he wants every excuse to shut this man out of his life forever.

That does make sense. And to the movie’s credit, the movie logic DOES work to make this version of Lloyd make sense.

It makes the movie pretty mean spirited and kinda unpleasant at times. But it works for the story.

I described Lloyd as ‘The Emo Child’. In the show. But that’s two words.

Emo. CHILD.

He’s still a kid. He’s still the youngest. He still has his own child-like wonder of the world and the aspirations that of a child would.

Yeah he’s a lot of angst. But he’s also a sweet kid who deserves hugs.

That’s not very apparent in movie Lloyd. Not that it needs to fit movie context.

But because we never see how the ninja in the movie got together, we have no idea why Lloyd even accepted being the Green Ninja in the first place. He even says in the movie that he’d give it up if it meant he didn’t have to be Garmadon’s son.

Movie Lloyd is the only ninja in this movie with an actual character arc. He resents his dad, tries to be rid of him, only to get consequences for it, goes on a quest to fix his mistake, bonds with his dad to learn he’s… sympathetic? I guess?? And in the end forgives his dad and chooses to let him in his life again.

Simple. Fine. It works on Lloyds end just fine. And I have to give credit for the movie making Lloyd resenting Garmadon more logical than Crystalized ever did.

It’s Garmadon’s end that just makes the whole thing a bad message in the end of ‘forgive your abusers.’

Yes he’s funny. That doesn’t undo his actions.

No it’s not undone in the show either, but at least you can buy the forgiveness there because every character knew that he had no choice.

In the show, Garmadon is the Oni Child of the FSM. Thus all it took was for another Oni creature, the Great Devourer, to trigger his blood and FORCE him into the evil role without his consent. It forced him to do nasty things to his loved ones and the land his dad created, and by the time he became his evil form, he was forcefully stripped away from all of his loved ones and a chance at normal life. So the only way he could ever get that back was to turn the world into his own image, thus having the world become him too. A monster.

The show made it abundantly clear that most of Garmadon’s evil deeds are either out of ambition for what he deems as helping the family, or not his fault at all due to snake venom influence.

I THINK the movie also has this because they do address him getting bit and becoming the creature he appears as in both versions.

Better than nothing I guess.

But then you get his ‘sympathetic backstory’ which is pretty much just a love story between him and Koko-

Yeah Lloyds moms name is actually different in both versions. And in role.

Misako abandoned her child to try and solve the destiny crisis, then returned to his life to help her kid out.

Koko remained a mother to her kid and supported him even when everyone hated him.

These are very different characters basically, and which one you prefer is up to you. Personally… I actually prefer the movie. I do think the mom was the one character that the movie actually improved upon. Especially with a very interesting story for her.

In the show, Misako is a researcher and just the fair maiden figure that Wu and Garmadon fell in love with. To which she chose Garmadon because of Wu’s letter that Garmadon forged his name on… it’s complicated.

In the movie, she was actually a fighter as well and took a part of the wars Garmadon was in. She enjoyed the thrill of the fight and fell in love with her opponent in a pretty cute montage.

But then they had a baby and her reality changed, realizing she could not raise her child on the battlefield. And when Garmadon refused to change his mind, she took Lloyd and left him behind. So she could be a mother.

Explains her actions in the movie all throughout very well and I never got lost when it came to her. She’s probably the one character in the movie I felt the most sorry for. She’s such a sweet parent and her interactions with Lloyd are probably the best parts of the movie. I wanna hug her.

But that’s all that’s shown of Garmadon. Apparently Garmadon was oppressed, but that’s told at the end and not shown or been significant at all.

They don’t hate you cause you look funky. They hate you cause YOU TERRORIZE THEIR CITY ON A DAILY BASIS AND SHOOT PEOPLE OUT OF A VOLCANO

Yeah show Garmadon did similar stuff, but again, WASNT HIS CHOICE.

Here, it’s absolutely his choice cause nothing indicated otherwise.

Garmadon doesn’t even PROCESS his kids existence or his own negligence three quarters of the time. And you expect me to buy a redemption from him?

You know, I’d be fine with it if he was just a one dimensional villain and the story of the movie was about Lloyd putting his energy away from a family that doesn’t care about him and more towards a surrogate one he has.

But no. You gotta have Lloyd forgive Garmadon and have Garmadon redeemed.

Cause that’s what the show did.

Even though this is supposed to be an AU not connected to the show so we can do whatever we want.

The most they do for Garmadon’s redemption is force him to be the mentor after Wu got yeeted off a bridge by a butterfly, have him go “Oh yeah, I DID shoot people out of a volcano!”, teach his son how to catch, and tell his son his backstory.

(Speaking if, Wu to me is basically the same. Just different voice actor delivery. I got nothing to say on him)

And then if that IS redemption, then he failed it. Because he offers Lloyd to be his general when they take over the city again, showing he’s learned nothing. Then when Lloyd says no, he steals their magic weapons and ditches them in a temple leaving them to DIE. Then he goes to terrorize the city again.

What redemption. /s

Again, this was all HIS choice. If it was not and if it was snake venom, they couldn’t at least give a visual cue or address it?

And now LLOYD has to apologize?

It just paints an unintentional bad message of ‘you have to forgive your abusers’

I’m sorry but Lloyd doesn’t owe this Garmadon anything.

I do like Lloyd’s VA delivery though, and the speech about green being the color of life. I actually like the idea of Lloyds power being his heart. Yeah it’s not flashy powers like in the show, but for an AU, it’s a really cool idea and I wish they used it more.

I have mixed feelings on the celebrity casting. Did I expect the original voice actors? No. But this casting wasn’t awful.

Garmadon’s VA is amazing in this movie. Jackie Chan as Wu is very subjective I feel, love it or hate it. Nya and Jay’s were really good too. I think the only one that didn’t work for me was Kai’s VA. Just… why does this teenager sound like a 50 year old man??

But honestly, I think the thing that got to me the most about the movie was something I praised about the show not too long ago.

The bond between the ninja.

I talked about how the show is a master class at character dynamics. There is almost no point where the characters are just standing there in one big clunk. Someone is saying something, someone is making a comment, someone is doing something, and it’s usually there for others to see and react to. It’s a very small thing, but it keeps the scenes alive and fresh the whole time and helps the audience be sold on the characters bond.

They don’t wait for the scenes of “Okay it’s time for characters to interact”. They just do it all the time.

And guess what the movie did? They’re just there in one big chunk all the time. With “okay it’s time for characters to interact” bits.

It’s one thing to not explore the other ninja at all. It’s another to ignore their bond.

In the show, they’re a found family. They all had rough upbringings in life and find a new sense of purpose in each other.

That’s NEVER emphasized in the movie except for one speech at the end Lloyd makes. Mostly cause we don’t know the other ninjas lives, and we don’t know how they even got together. Cause as I said, the movie starts at the middle, and awkwardly cuts after Garmadon is forgiven to be the end. We don’t know what it is about THIS ninja team that we should care about. It’s not shown.

All were shown is them being a team by circumstance only. Then Lloyd pulls out the cat laser and the cat nearly kills them. Then they hate Lloyd for it and spend the rest of the movie making fun of Lloyd.

Which yeah they make fun of each other in the show too, but where it ended in the show was playful teasing in the middle of moments that showed they cared about each other. And when one bond between two or more of them was broken, you felt it.

Here? I don’t know that and there isn’t anything besides the high school montage to show they cared. Just some comments about “Oh it’s okay Lloyd, it’s just awkward that your dad is a terrorist”. And then they make fun of Lloyds expense.

It’s mean spirited. It makes me think they don’t like each other. And it’s not like they ever apologize for it. They’re just teammates because Wu said so. They’re just tolerating Lloyd cause Wu said so.

Honestly the bloopers for this movie show more personality and more of this bond than the entire movie does.

Like mother like son Lloyd x OC (platonic)

Alright, so I randomly had an idea, I just watched Percy Jackson, and you know that scene where Percy is like “I am Sally Jackson’s son” yeah that one, but then Lloyd to Misako about an oC (Aruna) because she was like a mom to him when Misako wasn’t there, so I give you Lloyd with a good mother figure.

(I aged the ninja up a bit for this one, because it’s very small Cole x oC but really not the main plot, it might be there if you squint your eyes.

They first met when Lloyd was around six. He had ran from Darkleys and ended up in a small café in Jamanakai. A girl that was 17 years old at the time was working there, as it was her parents shop and she brought him some hot chocolate as he seemed so cold.

“I have no money,” he told her with a sad pout and she smiled at him. “That’s alright, this one’s on me,” she said and he happily thanked her before drinking his hot chocolate.

He stayed for a while after that so she brought him some lemonade. “Where are your parents, sweetheart?” She asked and Lloyd shrugged.

“No idea, I don’t really remember my parents,” he said and her heart broke. “What happened to them?” She asked, wondering if he had maybe been living on the streets after an incident.

“Nothing, my mom left me at a boarding school and I have no idea where dad is,” he said and she frowned a bit. “Do your teachers know you’re here?” She asked worriedly.

“No, not like they’d care at darkleys,” he mumbled and she tried not to scoff. What kind of parent leaves their child at darkleys?

“Why don’t you drink up your lemonade and I’ll get you some paper and crayons,” she said, making him smile as she walked off to the back of the shop.

She came back and gave him the paper and crayons.

“What’s your name, love?” She asked and he looked up at her. “It’s Lloyd,” he said with a smile. “Lloyd Garmadon,” she smiled back at him, she obviously knew who his father was, but she didn’t mind, he seemed like a sweet kid.

“Nice to meet you Lloyd, I’m Aruna Whitlock,” she said, sticking out her hand. He looked at it confused and she smiled. “You shake it,” she whispered and he happily did so.

He stayed until Aruna had to close down, she had given him some food trough the day of course, making sure he was taken care of well. She looked at him as he sat in a corner, now playing games on her iPad.

“Come, I’ll bring you back,” she said and he pouted at her. “I don’t wanna go back,” he said and she gave him a sad look.

“I’m sorry, dear, but I can’t let you stay outside,” she said and he got of his chair, sadly. She took his hand and walked him to her car.

“Can I come back?” He asked. She knew that it wouldn’t be allowed by the school, but she also knew how horrible the school was.

“Whenever you want,” she said, making him grin. This was the first time in Lloyds memories that he experienced love.

The second time he visited, he came to sit with her behind the counter, telling her story’s about himself that definitely didn’t happen.

She did have to scold him a bit, telling him that he shouldn’t steal or be mean to others.

She did give him some cookies and her iPad, letting him watch some videos on YouTube as she helped her customers.

The third time he visited, she was prepared. She had bought some commics, blankets and a hoodie, as the boy always wore a t-shirt even though it was cold outside.

It was plain black, but she hoped he’d like it anyway.

Spoiler alert, he loved it. But the comics weren’t of much use, the boy couldn’t read a word.

Aruna should’ve thought about it, he was only 6 after all. She wondered how he even managed to escape his school all the time.

But now, every time he visited, when there were no clients, she took her time to teach him how to read.

The boy was actually quite smart and at his tenth visit, he could already read small children’s books. He begged Aruna to give him some off the comics to read and she finally gave in.

It went pretty well, but he ran over a lot of times to ask her about a certain word, which she then explained to him.

This is how he became obsessed with starfarer and he visited so much eventually, that it didn’t take long before he had read all of them.

Whenever a new one came out, Aruna bought it so the boy could read it when he came by.

It was his the twenty first time he visited that he proudly showed off his black hoodie, which he painted with white paint so it looked like a skeleton.

It was messy, but Aruna could laugh about it and called it beautiful, making his eyes shine.

One of the days Lloyd best remembers, is the day he visited on a Thursday, the day the shop was closed.

He sat outside the shop door, tears staining his cheeks because he really wanted to see Aruna.

Luckily for him, she had forgotten her phone charger the day before so she found him at the doorstep.

He hugged her tightly when he saw her and in tears he explained that he had missed her so much.

She hugged him and picked him up in her arms. He burried his face in her neck and mumbled something before he fell asleep.

Aruna just opened the cafe door and made a makeshift bed out of some blankets and pillows, where she laid him down.

When he woke up, he rubbed his eyes and found a glass of lemonade and the newest starfarer comic next to him.

He looked up to spot Aruna with a cup of coffee at one of the tables and she winked at him.

He happily read his comic and drank the lemonade. He had run up to her three times to know the meaning of a word or what it said.

“Lloyd,” she said when he finished the comic, he looked up at her with questioning eyes. “Have you heard that there’s a starfarer movie?” She asked and his eyes lit up.

“There is?” He asked and she nodded. “It’s actually in the cinema today… wanna go?” She grinned and his mouth fell open.

“Really?” He asked and she nodded. “Really,” she said.

This day is what Lloyd would call the best day of his life.

It had been a bit longer than a year of his visits. He was at the cafe once every two weeks at least and he and Aruna had became really close.

So close that one day… he accidentally called her mom.

“Oh- I mean, Aruna,” he quickly said, a scared look on his face. She smiled at him and ruffled his hair.

“You can call me mom if you want to, love,” she said and he grinned, showing of his little fangs that Aruna had no idea where he got from.

Years went by and nothing really changed in their cycle, Lloyd visited, called her mom, learned new things and manners, and you could go on.

She loved the boy like a son, she made sure he had a place to go to when he needed help, when he needed a mom.

“Were you demanding candy from the villagers again?” Aruna asked, looking unamused as she raised an eyebrow at the blonde boy, hanging on a wall with the hood of his hoodie.

“Yes…” he mumbled and she sighed. “What did I tell you about bothering people and being disrespectful?” She asked.

“To not do it,” he said, looking at the ground with a pout. “And what did you do?” She asked. “I still did it- but like- this is just mean!” He said and she chuckled.

“You’re right, this is mean,” she said and took him off the wall, holding him in her arms. “So we learned not to do that again, right?” She asked and he nodded, burying his face in the crook of her neck.

She took him inside and gave him some apple juice and a lollipop to keep him busy while she helped her clients.

When there weren’t any clients, Lloyd told her the story about how the ninja had stopped him and where complete meanies, in his words.

She told him that it was not fair how they treated him, but that he should not be a meanie to other people either, making him sigh and nod.

“Shall I bring you home?” She asked and he shook his head. “I’ll walk,” he said and she frowned.

“Are you sure, love? I could give you a ride if you just wait a few hours,” she said but he shook his head.

“No, I want to walk, it’s good for me, right mom?” He asked and she chuckled.

“Yes, exercise is good, but sometimes taking a kind offer is also good,” she bend down to be at his height.

“Yes, but I want to walk, I want to go back anyway,” he said and she chuckled at him and kissed his cheek.

“Than you may walk,” she said and he waved her goodbye through the front windows.

She could never have guessed what Lloyd would do next and she could never have stopped it.

Later that day, some villagers took refuge in her shop. There were serpentine outside, terrorising the people around, they said.

“Lloyd Garmadon is with him, he’s always here, isn’t he?” A woman said and Aruna’s eyes widened.

“Are you sure it was Lloyd?” She asked and the woman nodded. “Pretty sure, he was rather proud with calling his name,” she said and Aruna put a hand over her mouth.

“I am so sorry, stay here, I’ll talk to him,” she said and walked outside. She saw some serpents but it only looked like they were in a hurry to get away.

There wasn’t any sight of Lloyd, but it wouldn’t surprise Aruna if he was really behind it, there were deserted wheelbarrows of candy and Lloyd had always been fascinated by serpentines.

She looked around with sad eyes as some villagers were hurt. She then noticed the ninja were also there.

One dressed in black came over when he saw her staring. “Can we help you, Miss?” He asked and she nodded.

“Please don’t tell me Lloyd was with the serpentine,” she said and his eyebrows rose slightly.

“I- yes, he uh, he was, it actually seemed like he was commanding them,” he said and Aruna groaned.

“He said he was going back to darkleys,” she said, rather disappointed. “You know him?” He asked and Aruna nodded.

“He’s in my shop a lot, can I give you my number, so you can call me if you find him?” She asked and he nodded.

“Yes, of course,” he said and took out his phone. They exchanged numbers and soon enough he left.

“Did you just get the number of that pretty girl?” Kai teased him and Cole nodded.

“Yes, but not because of what you think, she knows that little trouble maker, she seems to care about his wellbeing,” he said and Jay huffed.

“Why would someone care? He just let the serpentine lose, no one can tell what will happen now,” he said annoyed.

“Awe come on Jay, he’s just a kid,” Nya said and Jay quickly changed sides, stumbling over his words and blushing.

Kai rolled his eyes while Cole laughed at him.

It was a week later when Aruna got a call from Cole.

“Hey, it’s me, the black ninja, but just call me Cole,” he said, a bit awkwardly.

“Have you found Lloyd?” She asked quickly, having been worried all week.

“Yeah, yesterday evening, I didn’t want to bother you so I waited until morning to call,” he said and she just brushed this off.

“It’s fine, where are you? I’m coming over to see him,” she said and he was surprised for a moment but thought it couldn’t hurt if she stopped by. He hadn’t really realised Lloyd was apparently this important to her.

He told her where they were and Aruna grabbed her keys, closed the shop and got into the car, ready to drive over there.

She called her parents on the way, telling them that she closed the shop and they needed to fix someone else because she had an emergency.

Damn was she lucky they were understanding people.

She had already gotten the news that the ninja were taking residence on a flying ship, so she didn’t think much when she saw it.

She rushed on board and the four ninja all seemed to be training there.

The red one seemed to notice her first and greeted her politely. “I’ll go get him,” he said but before he could do so, the boy already came running outside.

“Mom!” He called and jumped into her arms. She hugged him tightly and kissed his cheek, before putting him down.

“What did I tell you about hurting other people and behaving?” She asked in a scolding tone.

“Always be kind and don’t do anything that might hurt other people or myself,” he said, looking at the ground.

“Why did you think it was a good idea to set the serpentine free?” She asked and he shrugged.

“The ninja had been mean,” he moped and Aruna sighed and looked at the ninja who where staring at them from a few feet distance.

She stood up and crossed her arms. “Did you apologise to him?” She asked in a scolding tone.

“Uh, no?”

“I don’t think we did…”

“Obviously not,”

“I think we might’ve forgot…”

“Apologise to him, now,” she pointed at the boy and the surprised ninja all muttered apologies.

“Have you apologised to the ninja?” She asked the boy who crossed his arms rebelliously.

“What do I have to apologise for? They started it!” He pointed and she raised her eyebrows.

“Excuse me?” She asked and he pouted at her, making tilt her head to the side slightly.

“Sorry mom,” he said before turning to the ninja. “Sorry, I guess,” he said. “Lloyd,” she said and he looked back at her before he turned to the ninja again.

“I’m sorry I set the serpentine free and kind of messed up,” he said.

At that moment, a man with a long white beard came walking outside.

“Sensei Wu! Your sister in law seems to be here!” Kai called and the man looked up in surprise and longing.

“Misako?” He asked and Aruna raised an eyebrow. “I’m pretty sure I’ve never met him,” she said.

Wu frowned as he walked over. “And I’m sure I never met you,” he said and that’s when Lloyd took over.

“Mom, this my uncle, uncle, this is Aruna, my kind off mother” he said and Aruna chuckled and stuck out her hand for Wu to shake, which he did.

“I think you know I’m not his actual mom- I’m also much to young for that, but he calls me mom,” she said while Lloyd held her hand and leaned against her.

“It’s nice to meet you, Aruna,” Wu said kindly, rather happy to see Lloyd had found some sort of parental figure.

“Can she stay with us, please, please, please!? There is enough room on the bounty!” Lloyd begged.

“If she wants to, she may stay here,” Wu said and looked at his students. “Right boys?” He asked.

“Uh, sure, I don’t mind,” Cole shrugged. “I think Nya would like her,” Kai nodded.

The other two agreed aswel and Aruna chuckled.

“I’m not sure Lloyd, I still have the shop and I really don’t want to be a bother,” she said but he rolled his eyes at her.

“Didn’t you say you wanted to quit anyway? Your parents can take care of it, can’t they?” He asked, and even though she thought it irresponsible, she let herself be convinced by Lloyd.

It did lead to the very awkward moment where she met his dad, though.

Garmadon had not been interested in her, at all, but the moment they came back to the ship after trying to save Lloyd, he saw the devastatingly, heartbroken look in the girls eyes when she found out Lloyd was still in the erupting volcano, he thought maybe his son had been really important to her.

He had been right, because the moment Lloyd got back, it wasn’t his father he immediately ran to for comfort and a hug, no he ran to the strange girl and called her mom.

Of course, he did get a hug after, but he was really surprised, because for a second he was conflicted if Misako had just changed so much or if this was just a random girl.

The answer was obvious of course.

When it became clear Lloyd was the green ninja, Aruna had stayed with him all night, because she knew he was going to need her.

In his room, he told her about how heroic he was going to be and how he was going to be a great fighter.

“And than, when the time comes, I will beat-” he cut himself off as realisation flooded trough him. “I will beat my dad…” he said and looked at Aruna with heartbroken eyes, tears starting to spill.

She held him, the whole light she held him. She sat on his bed and he laid in her lap, sobbing until he fell asleep.

The next day the ninja found the two, Lloyd snoring in a sleeping Aruna’s arms, it was the moment they really realised how important this girl was for the boy they actually started to like.

Through the days, the ninja actually became great friends with Aruna, deciding that they had to put up with Lloyd for a long while, so they would be ‘stuck’ with Aruna aswel.

When they defeated the great devourer, she helped them find jobs and things that they could do to earn money.

She loved watching as they trained Lloyd in the Mojo Dojo.

She also loved watching Lloyd glare at Dareth whenever he tried flirting with her.

She did like it when they got the bounty back, it had really started to feel like home to her, and now she could watch the ninja train Lloyd there.

Cole started to make some time to teach Aruna some stuff aswel. “If you’re going to be around for as long as we think, you might aswel learn how to fight, you’re going to need it,” he had told her.

She really liked the training time with Cole and couldn’t help but blush ever time he moved her a bit to better her stance.

The day of the tomorrow’s tea, is a day Aruna would never forget. She had been out for a while, and when she came back, nobody was home.

She didn’t think much off it and waited for them to get back.

They jumped onto the deck one by one and she looked around the group for a few seconds.

“Where are Kai and Lloyd?” She asked, the group exchanged looks and Cole stepped forward.

“Listen, Andy, something happened,” he said and the frowned. “Are they okay? Is Lloyd hurt? Is he in the hospital?” She asked and he quickly calmed her down by grabbing her hand.

“No, it’s not that- it’s… you better see so for yourself,” he said and moments later, Lloyd walked onto the deck.

He only seemed about three or so years younger than she was. Her breath hitched and tears started stinging in her eyes.

What happened to her boy?

“What happened?” She asked, her voice breaking. “There was an incident with some aging tea…” he shrugged, trying to give her as reassuring smile.

It fell when he saw the heartbroken look in her eyes.

“Hey,” he tried to laugh as he walked towards her taking her hands in his. “Mom, I’m still here, alright?” He said and she nodded before pulling him into a hug.

The group watched all a bit mournfully as they watched a mother and son that could be mistaken for a brother and sister, two friends, or even boyfriend and girlfriend (everyone felt disgusted by the last one really) hug, knowing that the bond they had would never be able to break.

Aruna had joined the group when they visited the museum, it was pure coincidence that she was there, but it was lucky she was, because it was important for Lloyd at that moment.

“You guys are such idiots,” Aruna laughed as she looked at the destroyed gift shop. “Oh come on, like you could’ve done it better,” Kai said.

They made their way out of the shop to see Wu with a woman, he seemed rather in love.

“So, are you gonna introduce us?” Jay asked and Wu nodded.

“Yes,” he said. “This is Misako, Lloyds mother,” he said and Aruna felt her heart crashing trough the ground as she looked at the woman who actually really resembled the boy.

They all stood to the side and looked at a surprised Lloyd.

“My- my mother?” He said and the woman smiled.

“Ah, Lloyd? My little boy,” she walked toward him. “You’re so much bigger then I remember. “

Aruna glared slightly at the woman and Cole laid a hand on her shoulder, and gave her a concerned look. She just lightly smiled at him.

“Yeah, well, it’s been a long time,” Lloyd said, recoiling from her touch.

“I didn’t want us to meet like this,” Misako shook her head. “I have a reason why I’ve been away!” She tried to explain.

“Well I don’t wanna hear it,” he spat and turned away, walking toward the door.

“Lloyd wait! Please!” She called. “You’re my son!” She cried desperately.

Lloyd turned around and for a moment Misako seemed to have hope until she saw his angry glare.

“I am Aruna Whitlocks son!” He yelled at her before turning away and slamming the door.

“I’ll go talk to him,” Aruna said, walking toward the door.

“Maybe it’s better if I go to explain my reasons,” Misako laid a hand on Aruna’s shoulder and the girl turned around with a small huff.

“No, I think it’d be better if I go,” she said with a a small sneer.

“And who are you?” Misako asked, a bit irritated. “I am Aruna Whitlock,” she answered with triumph before going after Lloyd.

Aruna found Lloyd sitting at a large sinkhole. She walked over and laid a hand on his shoulder.

“Are you alright, love?” She asked and sat down next to him.

“It’s so unfair how she thinks she can just explain her reasons and think we’re all good again,” he said and rested his head on Aruna’s shoulder.

“It is unfair,” Aruna said. “But maybe if you heard her out, you might want to give her another chance,” she tried and Lloyd huffed.

“Another chance at what?” He asked and Aruna shrugged. “Well she’ll never get another chance at being my mother, that spot is taken,” he said and the girl chuckled.

“Yes, I’d be jealous,” she teased, making him laugh lightly. “But maybe another chance to be in your life,” she combed her hand trough his hair like she did whenever he couldn’t sleep or had a nightmare.

“You might wanna look out, that sinkhole doesn’t have a bottom, son,” the voice of Misako entered the room. “It’s where I found the ancient stone warrior,” she explained.

Aruna stood up from her spot and looked at the woman for a moment. “I’ll leave you to alone, I’ll wait outside,” she said before she kissed the top of Lloyd head and headed outside.

Aruna waited outside of the room and she saw the others about to head inside. “Are you coming aswel, Aruna?” Zane asked and and she gave him a small smile.

“No thanks, I’ll wait,” she said in a small voice. Deep inside, she felt scared that Lloyd would choose Misako as his mother again and they’d lose their spark.

After composing herself, Aruna headed inside, to see what was going on and if the two made up.

“Leaving you was the hardest thing I’ve ever had time do,” she heard Misako said. “But faced with saving you and the world, I had no other choice,” she said.

Aruna came to stand with the others and Lloyd stood up.

“I can forgive you,” he said, making Misako smile. “And I can let you back into my life again,” he continued, slowly stepping towards the others behind him.

“But I am afraid to say the face of a mother belongs to someone else,” Lloyd looked at Aruna who gave him a reassuring smile.

HAN’S INFODUMPING ABOUT JAY... START!!!!

so like sgdkdhdkdhd I say Jay and Lloyd are my “favorites” but honestly it’s so hard to pick favorites out of this skittles squad like I love EVERY character for a variety of different reasons. I was going to also infodump about Lloyd but then I started talking about Prime Empire and then this post got. Long. So. it's just Jay I may infodump about Lloyd another day especially since I'm very Conduit Brained Rn but yea yea!

I considered putting Zane and Sora on here as well since I’d also consider them my “favs” but like this is already gonna be. A lot of. Jay is such an interesting case of a character for me because I started out the show not liking him. Which is. Stares at my entire account I think my feelings have changed somewhat

Jay starts out as an asshole I don’t think anyone can disagree with me there (although honestly they’re all assholes in early ninjago they bullied a ten year old and left him dangling several feet off the ground) but over the course of the show you can see him start developing into a much more interesting character. He goes from being so insecure he's faking everything about himself to someone who knows who he is and is so genuine about it

now yea we could argue about whether his character was too uwu-ified post-season 10 but this is the FUN HAN POST SO WE'RE NOT GONNA TALK ABOUT THAT the point is you can SEE the growth that Jay has gone through and I am going to show you that growth through what I call

when season 12 rolls around we are at the point in Jay's development where he is CONFIDENT in who he is. He's a fun-loving jokester with the power of lightning and the drive to help people whenever he can. He uses jokes and humor to help alleviate tension and get people through whatever's happening. And when on his own what does he do?

i like to think jay's club in prime empire was a safe haven for anyone stuck in the game who figured out hey. we Can't Leave and felt freaked about it. Also Jay would generally try and spread the word that hey something ISN'T RIGHT HERE which would lead people to want to stay with him

also the prime empire shorts which i watched all of in the midst of typing this video cuz i love them go watch them please please please jay was publically fighting the red visors which I imagine may have raised some red flags for some players

THIS SOMEHOW TURNED INTO PRIME EMPIRE INFODUMPING LMAO ANYWAYS Jay's confident! He becomes an entertainer because it's who he knows he is! And it's something that will get people hyped and having fun, which is very in-character for Jay to do! He uses those kinds of things to mask the Bad Things going on and get people remembering what's good

I've talked about this sort of thing before but that's Jay's whole philosophy as early as season 9! Which is a DIRECT contrast to how he views it in season 6, as Nadakhan puts it scarily accurately

"You make jokes to mask the fact that you're afraid"

(i was gonna grab a screenshot for that like i did with the hunted scene but netflix has bloCKED THE ABILITY TO TAKE SCREENSHOTS THE WAY I USED TO and i don't have them already and i'm too lazy to grab them from elsewhere so alas trust me he says it)

making jokes to hide your fear and using humor to remind yourself of what's good and coping with the bad are two VERY different outlooks on it

so I think this outlook is what drives him to make this glamrock persona in the first place - this is a bad situation, one he's in with other civilians, and what better way to keep him and themself safe until the others get there than throwing a big performance at a safe place!

also it's just so gender okay I want to look like Superstar Rockin' Jay so badly

it's also interesting to see his outlook on his parents change over time! In season six he finds out Ed and Edna aren't his birth parents and feels upset about it, not understanding why his birth parents would've abandoned him. In season twelve, that outlook changing is EXACTLY why Jay's able to get through to Unagami

"I was abandoned by my parents, too!... I never understood why, and I never had the chance to even ask. But I always hoped there was a good reason. What if there's a reason?"

(again curse you netflix i wanted SCREENSHOTS whatever whatever)

It's this scene that gets Unagami to calm down long enough for Milton Dyer to get there, and presumably is what stops him from just. Flattening him and Jay like a pancake.

to piggyback off of this i absolutely adore how Unagami and Jay consider each other adopted brothers in that one book I still haven't read and I hope he's in Dragons Rising at some point Unagami is my favorite "villain" (no longer a villain) in the whole show he deserves more screentime

SO YEA OKAY Prime Empire is "Who is Jay as a Person Post-Skybound" to me also it opens up so many fascinating things about Jay. I rest my case

so backpedaling a little bit. JAY CARES SO MUCH ABOUT HIS PARENTS GUYS IT'S SO SOFT AND I'M sobs

like yea the first episode with Ed and Edna in it has Jay avoiding them like the plague but this gets explained very easily when you remember he was bullied for his home life before he became a ninja. It makes a lot more sense why he wouldn't want them around his new friends, assuming they'd react the same way. Also how was he supposed to know literally all the rest of the groups parents were either dead, presumed dead, or had a toxic relationship with their kid lmao

(Cole calling his mom kills me. Cole's mom is dead. I know they probably just didn't think that far ahead when writing the dialogue but it's so funny mans pretended to call his dead mom to get on Jay for not appreciating his parents iconic behavior)

anyways literally every episode Ed and Edna are central to (except like the one in skybound) Jay stops at nothing to protect his parents and it means the absolute world to me he's so much like them!! They raised an inventive little nerd and he will stop at nothing to make sure they're safe and it's. It's SO IMPORTANT TO ME OKAY

Plot: When reader is kidnapped by Lloyd and his gang, Six comes to save her. Pairing: Sierra Six/Court Gentry (I use both names in this) x Female!Reader Warnings: 18+ Please! Mentions of death, kidnapping, violence, torture, graphic descriptions of blood and injury, weapons/guns, and shooting. Also Lloyd Hansen being a creepy POS. Notes: Look. I’ve always loved Ryan Gosling, even before I discovered Sebastian, and when I watched the Gray Man, I knew I had to write something for Six. If you have any requests for him please let me know!

Once again, not beta’d so any mistakes are my own.

Struggling against the zip ties binding her to the chair armrests, Y/N watches the men surrounding her, each with a large gun strapped to their belts. What felt like only less than an hour ago, she was walking home, her mind filled with boring things, like what she’s going to have for dinner or how her boyfriend is doing. And then, her life turned upside down, and she was snatched off the street. She fought back as hard as she could, but they still shoved her into the trunk of a car and drove away. And now she’s here, tied to a chair in what looks like some kind of fancy ass castle, with no sign of her boyfriend anywhere. Of course, despite how much he tries to hide it, she knows that danger comes with dating Court. After all, as a CIA assassin, he has a lot of enemies who want to do a lot of damage to them. 

Deep down, she always knew a day like this would come. When his other life would bleed into their domestic life together, and put them both at risk. Yet, despite the no doubt countless risks to her life, Y/N started ignoring them after a while. Of course it was stupid to ignore them, and she knows that now, but Court always promised that he’d keep her safe, and after all the years they had with nothing actually happening…Y/N believed him, and stopped thinking she was in danger.

Y/N’s eyes move around the room, looking for a potential escape route if she somehow gets out of here. They didn’t tie her legs to the chair, so she might be able to make it out. But she doesn’t have much hope. No doubt the men with guns will stop her before she gets to the door. As she sits there, awaiting her death, Y/N’s thoughts drift to Court, and where he is. Of course, she hopes that he knows where she is, and that he’s on his way to save her. Most of all though, she hopes he’s safe. She knows that Court’s more than capable of handling villains by himself, but these guys seem to be the very definition of armed and dangerous. Even if she doesn’t make it out here alive, she hopes that Court does.

Suddenly, the door opens, interrupting her thoughts. Y/N watches as a man enters. Whoever he is, he’s swearing about something, and he looks furious. And he definitely has questionable tastes in facial hair. But then, he lays eyes on her and grins, instantly switching off his rage. “Ah, you must be Y/N.” He pulls up a chair, sitting across from her. “It’s nice to finally meet you. I’m Lloyd.”

“What do you want with me?” Lloyd doesn’t answer her question, and instead continues to watch her, his blue eyes studying her intently. Her blood chills. 

“You know, you are so beautiful. I can see what Six saw in you. Depending how things go, maybe we could grab some dinner after this.” He grins, causing her stomach to churn. When he gets no response, Lloyd huffs. “You do realise I’m giving you a compliment, right? You’re supposed to say thank you.”

“…Thanks.” She mumbles. 

“Sorry, what was that? You’re going to have to be a lot louder than that, sweetheart.” When she repeats herself, he grins. “Good girl. Now that we’re acquainted with each other, the fun can really start. Where’s your boyfriend?”

“I don’t know.” Lloyd sighs, tutting slightly.

“Not good enough. Where is he?” Y/N repeats her answer again, swearing that she has no idea where her boyfriend is to Lloyd’s continued questions. With every repeated insistence, Y/N can see him getting angrier, but she doesn’t know what else he’s expecting from her. After all, she’s telling him the truth. 

“What do you want with him, anyway?” She asks, watching Lloyd warily as he continues to stare at her, peering over at her like a shark watching its prey. 

“He has something that belongs to me.” He leans in close, tracing a finger along her jawline. When she shudders, he smirks. “So I’ve taken something that belongs to him for a fair trade. Hopefully, for your sake, he gets here soon.”

“Get the fuck away from me.” Y/N hisses. She tries to kick him with her free leg, but Lloyd dodges it. Immediately, someone grabs her shoulder, harshly pulling her back into the chair. 

“Oh, you’ve got some fire in you. I like that.” Lloyd smirks. “Just a shame it won’t do you any good.” Without another word, he raises his hand, striking her across the face hard. The sound reverberates across the room, as does Y/N’s cry of pain. Before she even has a chance to say something, another hit lands. Pain floods through her body, and Y/N bites her tongue hard to stop a cry from slipping out.

“Is that…the best you’ve got?” She asks, ignoring the blood running down her face. Lloyd laughs, an awful, cruel laugh that sends shivers down her spine. This man is a fucking maniac. 

“Oh…no, sweetheart. We’re just getting started.”

After some time, Lloyd finally relents on his attack on Y/N. Y/N winces, trying to move her body into a more comfortable position. The zip ties on her wrists are digging in, so much so she has to bite her cheeks to stop the pain as tears stream down her cheeks. Lloyd broke all her fingers in his attempt to extract the truth from her. She still held strong and continued to maintain the truth about Court’s location, but fuck, she’s in so much pain. The flow of blood has exacerbated, and even breathing and crying hurts now.

Suddenly, the sound of a ringtone cuts through the air. “What did I say about phones when I’m working?” Lloyd huffs. 

“I think it’s yours.” One of the armed men says. Lloyd’s eyebrow rises, and he finally stops his assault on Y/N. As he goes to answer it, the deep red of Y/N’s blood still staining his hand, Y/N lets out a breath of relief. It’s over. At least, for now.

“What the fuck?!” Lloyd’s anger fills her ears, and she jumps. “You’re supposed to be the best in the world at what you do, yet you can’t even handle one fucking man?” Y/N frowns for a moment, until the penny drops. 

Court. He’s here. Y/N’s thoughts are confirmed when Lloyd turns back to her, another creepy smile on his face. “Well. Looks like your Prince Charming is here, after all.”  Hope fills her every being as she imagines Court coming to save her. Yet, despite how hopeful she is, it’s overshadowed by her fear. She can see the cracks in Lloyd’s facade, and how his smile doesn’t meet his eyes. And despite everything Lloyd has done to her so far…seeing that look on his face makes her the most afraid she’s ever been. Lloyd’s a total sociopath, and he could do anything to Court. And it’ll probably be much, much worse than what he did to her. “I better give him a warm welcome.” 

“No. Stay away from him!” Y/N begs. Lloyd chuckles. 

“Sorry sweetheart. No can do.” Once more, he bends in close, lifting his hand to touch her once more. Fuelled by rage and fear, Y/N spits in his face, her blood spraying against his cheek. Even though she knows that it was a pretty badass thing to do, Y/N regrets it as soon as she does it. Lloyd isn’t the type of person you should piss off.

Lloyd doesn’t say anything, only seethes with anger. The silence is agonising the longer it goes on, and Y/N’s body chills as she wonders what he’s going to do next, and which body parts she’s about to lose. Suddenly, Lloyd starts laughing again. “Oh, you really shouldn’t have done that. And not just because I liked this shirt. If you’re sure you want my friends and I to kill you and your boyfriend, then so be it.” He shrugs, getting up and walking towards the door, gesturing for the armed men to follow him.

“No Lloyd, wait! Please!” Y/N screams, shouting after him. “Please don’t hurt him!”

“Too late, sweetheart. You’ve made your choice.” He announces. And then, he’s gone, and Y/N is alone.

Y/N sits in silence as she waits for someone, anyone, to return. Her entire body aches, but her fears for Court and his safety are even more painful. Of course, with a life like Court’s, Y/N always knew that a day might come when she loses him forever. But this is the first time she actually thought it would happen. And it scares the shit out of her. If he dies, what’s going to happen to her? Then again, she’s probably going to die too. Tears flow down her face once more. She isn’t ready for it to end. Not like this.

Suddenly, muffled gunshots sound from outside the room, and the hairs on the back of Y/N’s neck stand up. Whoever it is, they’re heading straight for her. As the doorknob turns, Y/N braces herself for what’s about to happen. However, to her surprise, and immense relief, the person who opens the door is who she least expects to see.

“Court?” she gasps. In what feels like a second, he’s by her side, trying to cut through the ties binding her wrists.

“Y/N, oh god. I’m sorry.” Suddenly, Y/N notices the amount of blood covering her boyfriend and staining his shirt. 

“W-What happened to you? Are you bleeding?” He doesn’t respond, which makes her even more worried. “Court!” She demands.

“I’m fine, I promise.” He finally replies. “Lloyd got me a few times, but it’s nothing I haven’t handled before. Just a little scratch.” She doesn’t believe him at first, yet before she can say anything else, her wrists are free, and Court takes her into his arms, squeezing her for dear life protectively. “It’s okay. Lloyd’s gone. I took care of him. You’re safe now. It’s over.” He whispers. As soon as she registers that she’s in his arms once more, the whole situation hits Y/N then, and she breaks down in tears once more. 

“I thought I’d never see you again.” She whimpers.

“Me too. But it’s okay. You’re safe now. I’m here.” He whispers, kissing every inch of her face and squeezing her tightly, as if he’ll never let go. “I won’t let anyone hurt you ever again.”

“I love you.” She sobs. “So much.” 

“I love you too. Can you walk?” He asks. Nodding, Y/N takes a few steps, but stumbles a little. Without another word, Court wraps his arm around her, keeping her steady. “It’s okay, I’ve got you. Come on. Let’s go home.”

my Ninjago headcanons!!!!

Kai

• Is TikTok famous. He likes to put his camera in everyone’s face while they do normal everday things then says “ooh this is perfect, everyone will love this!!” and then everyone does love it.

• Spends most of his time trying to annoy his teammates. He finds it funny how easily Nya gets ticked off, so he annoys her most often. ex) going into her room and just singing really loud.

• Thinks Tarayummy is his soulmate. He sits in his room in the dark and just watches her videos. He has a hatred for every man she has ever talked to.

Nya

• Says she hates dressing up/wearing dresses, but at night she secretly puts on pretty ball gowns she hides in boxes in her closet. (I do this)

• Loves art, but she mostly paints. She picked it up after seeing the paintings Jay did after seabound. He taught her a lot of it.

• Anytime she sees a friend or someone she knows out in public she has to talk to them. It’s like when you were little and your mom/dad saw someone at the store and they just had to talk to them forever. She does that.

Zane

• There’s a desk in his room with the most random junk on it. He doesn’t even know where most of it came from. This junk varies from model airplanes to defused pipe bombs.

• He’ll give himself weird accents sometimes. If he’s bored he will just put on a new accent and talk to the others to see their reactions. One time he did a Russian accent that scared Jay so much he peed his pants.

• He could watch those videos of dancing fruit for hours. He just loves brain rot, and that’s okay because it keeps him busy.

Cole

• Religiously watches edits of himself of TikTok. Once he accidentally reposted one and everyone lost their mind.

• Thinks Halo by Beyoncé is the greatest song ever written. It’s the only song he will sing in front of other people and he will put his whole heart and soul into it every time.

• Likes to skateboard, but doesn’t have enough time. He thought it would be a fun hobby to pick up before he was a ninja and actually got really good at it. He isn’t as good now, but he can still do some tricks.

Jay

• This man is so zesty oh my god. Everyone in Ninjago thought he was gay until he got together with Nya. There are still people who think it’s all just an act to cover it up.

• If this guy sees a river he is getting in. It doesn’t matter if it’s 10 or 80 degrees, this man is ready to jump in any river he sees. He tries to get everyone else to join, but they aren’t as stupid (except Cole who obviously has to join him)

•Watches Instagram reels instead of TikTok. He thinks they’re funnier, and Kai thinks that it’s the funniest thing in the world and never shuts up about it.

Lloyd

• A lot of people think this, but I think that he bleach’s his hair. He doesn’t want to look anything like his dad, and he thinks his dark hair makes him look evil.

• Also likes art, but mostly draws. He likes to do art with Nya, but picked it up when he was younger. He used to make his own comic books about the ninja in S1.

• Wants to be a theater kid so bad, but he has to focus on his ninja work. He’s made everyone watch Hamilton at least 5 times (so far).

My headcanons on the ninja’s favorite foods / diets because I am so normal about these characters.

Cole - Cake. I don’t think I have to explain this. It couldn’t be more canon lmao. If I had to pick a particular cake as his favorite, he’s definitely one of those people who adores chocolate lava cakes. I think that and red velvet are is favorites. I also feel like he has a very high spice tolerance.

Zane - In my headcanon, nindroid!zane does not need to eat, so he doesn’t really have a favorite food. For human!zane, I feel like he would have very expensive taste. I think my pick for his favorite would be lobster. No reason why, just my thoughts.

Jay - Jay was easily the hardest to pick. I faintly remember him saying he liked Chen’s Noodles, so I could pick something like ramen as his favorite food, but while I think that fits, I think all of the ninja really like Chen’s Noodles. The food that comes to find for me, although it has 0 basis in canon, is burritos. I feel like he loves the amount of food there is, the fact that it is “easy to eat,” and the fact that “there are so many different configurations that it’s practically a different food every time.” Oh, and dino nuggets. No explanation needed.

Nya - Nya loves sushi, and you can fight me on that fact. While this makes things kind of hard as Jay is kind of scared of the concept of eating raw food, Jay still will eat it with her and Nya is still obsessed. Also enjoys mac and cheese when no one is looking lol.

Kai - Okay, this section is gonna have a lot of angst and I’m not apologizing for that. Kai and Nya never had much to eat, but Kai always made sure Nya had food on the table. In fact, one year on Nya’s birthday, he surprised her with by going with her to get (albeit cheap) sushi. He claimed he felt sick, though, so he didn’t eat any. In reality, though, he had only saved enough for Nya, and seeing her happy was a million times better than the food itself. As for his personal taste, Kai isn’t very picky when it comes to food. Growing up, almost everything he ate was rice, as that was what was grown where he lived. This has led him to really disliking rice, due to its unsavory memories. One of Kai’s favorite foods, funny enough, is pizza. This is primarily due to, when Kai had some extra money and Nya was unfed, he would order himself a pizza as a treat. This basically never happened as Kai always felt guilty spending money on himself when it could have gone to Nya, but it’s led to pizza being very important to Kai now that he has enough money to afford it.

Lloyd - I have a lot of thoughts on Lloyd. Firstly, as proven by canon, Lloyd has a major sweet tooth. I wouldn’t give candy as his favorite food since I feel it is too broad, and I don’t have a specific candy to give him because he likes all candy equally. I also feel like he quite likes junk food. Similarly to Kai, Darkley’s didn’t have a ton of food options, so fast food was the cheapest and easiest option for Lloyd. However, unlike Kai, he still finds comforts in the foods he ate as a child. Finally, when I was drafting ideas for this post, for some reason I had Lloyd’s as green bean casserole, and I have no logical explanation for this, but I cant unsee it. My explanation I’m giving is, whenever there was a potluck/bring your own food type events, he always brought really bad green bean casserole just to annoy people and still has some fondness for it because of that. Oh, and dino nuggets for him too. Again, no explanation needed.
