Thinking about the soos currently.
Thinking about how seemingly selfish it was of lsh and cjs to leave krs alone; how selfish it was of cjs when he said that he wanted krs to live; and yet, that was the best they could do for him–to protect him and let him live the life they wouldn't be able to.
Thinking about how, even in the face of a destroyed world, they believed that surviving, living was the best, and how all of them wished for the other to live.
Thinking about how utterly betrayed Krs must have felt, not by his hyungs, but by his own inability to do anything, and to just stare at the lifeless corpses of lsh and cjs.
Thinking about how it must have been for krs—the betrayal of his own abilities, and the burden of the new life he never asked for.
Thinking about how krs knew he would've done the same, if he were in their position, and how that was the fact that hurt the most. That their selfishness, that their betrayal was only wanting Cale to live, and the fact that their selfishness was nothing but their love for him.

In one of my most popular posts, I pointed out that Jane Austen and Charlotte Brontë's writing styles don't have a ton in common, despite being constantly recommended to Austen fans looking for further reading.
Anthony Trollope is another name I hear frequently as similar to Austen. And let me say now.
No. Stop it.
I read his most famous and popular novel, Barchester Towers. The whole time I had this vibe, though I couldn't exactly find a quote to support it, that this author did not really respect women. The main hero is explicitly said to treat women like children. A main plot is about a bishop being hen-pecked (controlled by his wife). Another main plot is a woman who is a heartless, magical siren.
Well then the vibe stopped being a vibe (woman is ivy, man is tower):
When the ivy has found its tower, when the delicate creeper has found its strong wall, we know how the parasite plants grow and prosper. They were not created to stretch forth their branches alone, and endure without protection the summer's sun and the winter's storm. Alone they but spread themselves on the ground and cower unseen in the dingy shade. But when they have found their firm supporters, how wonderful is their beauty; how all-pervading and victorious! What is the turret without its ivy, or the high garden wall without the jasmine which gives it its beauty and fragrance? The hedge without the honeysuckle is but a hedge.
Yeah, I want to vomit. Women are a parasitic vine that cannot grow properly without a man? Fuck you, Anthony Trollop.
And why in the world would anyone compare this author to Austen?
Before someone fights me:
Yes, I realize that an author from 1857 might have unfortunate views about women. I'm not an idiot. I choose to read those who don't.
Yes, I know I only read one novel. I'm not going further because that was enough for me. I also wasn't very fond of his writing style besides the misogyny.
The main problem here is the comparison to Jane Austen, not Anthony Trollope himself. I didn't find them comparable at all besides being British and the presence of clergymen. If you love Trollope, this is not an attack on you personally.

Every now and then I remember a graphic novel I read in a library in my teens and think 'I want to reread that one' but I don't remember for the life of me which specific one it was, nor do I have access to that library any more, so I'm just sat there yearning for comic books.

i like how the american dad fandom collectively headcanons that roger had terrible, ab//sive parents back on his home planet
like take a look at this goofy alien guy: hes an alc//h//lic, he has traits of a multiple personality disorder, hes an addict, he has very clear abandonment issues and went on a family bender, he smokes; all those things right there are DEFINITELY trauma responses like he clearly has LOTS of trauma he isnt properly dealing with
he even keeps his dad in the smiths freezer and takes a bite of it every year on his bday for gods sake like he aint right in the head

I’m thinking about how in Marvel Team-Up 1997 issue 1 the spider sense is so loud that Jono can telepathically hear it and boost it.
I’m thinking about how in the 1997 Generation X prose novel Jono gains the ability to project his voice into radios.
I’m just thinking that’s neat.

in (re)reading the original sherlock holmes stories it's hard not to appreciate how genuinely sweet holmes and watson's relationship is, even harder to avoid noticing how many times watson describes what they have as an "intimate acquaintance" or "two men who know each other intimately" and the VERY hardest not to have my brain bombard me with every single suggestive meme or emoji i've ever seen when another passage like that pops up.
... and they were roommates-
