Lol, I was watching the ‘17 HS carpool karaoke segment and the bit about how he gets away with fashion (kinda like Daylight mv ref bit) & his knowledge/dialogue depth of romcoms (Notebook, Titanic, Notting Hill) was funny (female influence growing up perhaps). I guess he digs that type of “Cinema”. Even Nicholas Sparks wants to book him. The duet of Endless Love “Two heart beating as one” reminded me of his Two Ghosts song. (Shania Twain also did duet with Lionel Ritchie for EL- LOML also has that 80s love ballad vibe). Hopeless romantic? He even added “I will always love you” in Keep driving. TS did karaoke with the WH version.

TS also uses a lot of romcom tropes. Examples love triangle, best friends to lovers, forbidden love, historical romance, older, bad boy, doomed, unrequited, etc. Both are known readers & TV/film buffs- theatrical too. His music is a little more abstract while hers is built more like a book or script at times- but visually, lyrically & musically they hook people in- especially the videos. Their curiosity about details of others is noted- shakes hands, personal introductions, gifts. I think in his audition he mentioned possibly wanting to study sociology, business & law. Her scholar interests were English, history, finance & marketing- but she did learn a bit of Latin in HS too. Another thing, sometimes I feel like they’ve referenced Dirty Dancing (Time of my Life, She’s like the wind). Lol, even Ed Sheeran’s mv had that dance ref. Shivers? It’s just a pop culture thing to draw from the past and spin it to recreate a new story- just something done in music & media- TV, books & film. Sidenote, I was watching TS’s CMT skits & vlogs. Lol, Thelma & Louise (w/ Shania) & “Dreams” segments -Star Trek (JJ Abrams film), NFL, Thug story (w/ T-Pain). I kinda think the TS’s CMT & HS LLN bits and their music video performances worked better than the SNL ones & films. Both are funny- but I guess critics would say both may not always deliver. I wonder how they would have done with Screwball romcom films? Superhero films kinda fill that space now.

Lol, sometimes the Haylor narrative fits the Friends-to-Lover trope. Like When Harry MET Sally (it even has a New Year’s day bit). Especially the catalogue. Yea you can tell they both have the same influences. I love that Harry loves rom coms. Not many guys will enjoy watching a rom com with you. I was reading Beach Read last week and I thought Harry and Taylor could play these characters in a movie. I would love to see them in something like Daisy Jones & the Six. Stuff I’ve just watched and almost completely did not enjoy

First, Superstore (2015-2021): I watched this show mostly while getting ready for work in the morning or brushing my teeth at night, really just moments where I’m not focusing much and needing to wind up/down, but there were probably only 5 minutes of all the six seasons that I enjoyed even remotely. I know it seems to be a sitcom must-have but really, does every character have to be unlikable? Is that really the only way to depict realness? And I don’t think they were intended to all be insufferable but then again, how could the characters not intentionally have been written that way? Were we actually supposed to feel endeared to their irritating qualities? Which never changed from start to end btw

🦴 Nightalon 👀?

OH GOSH,,, welp here we go down the rabbit hole bc Nightalon is actually one of the oldest ocs I have!

How old? Well here was their original design when they were a tfp/YB character who was a Megatron Soundwave baby, purely bc I liked their designs. This design? Is over 3+ years old.

They were actually Just based off their name at first, I liked the name and thought it'd make a cool oc, in this first iteration their character was basically big goof who had an incident where their nodes were fried so hard they never felt pain, but were NOT indestructable. So they would walk into the con base bleeding from the arc and with no idea what was going on.

After that they became a StarSound baby I believe? Though I still barely touched their character. However when it came to figuring giving Radio a girlfriend in TFA I realized that I hadn't touched Nightalon in forever and found an interesting alt mode for them to take and hey I liked Lugwing so why not make them a lugwing baby... thing is this nightalon changed designs but not much in terms of personality.

OOF, yea but hopefully now you can start to see the basis of the modern Nightalon I settled on. I loved the idea of the triangle pattern suggesting stars without being too direct about it. I liked the general concept too but it needed working. So another design came along

So a while after designing that, I had watched a ton of video essays going over crappy romance media, from fifty shades of grey to the kissing booth to other ones, I started really wanting to explore more of the idea of how those kind of stories can warp the minds of young teenagers and lead to more unhealthy ideas of romance and dedication for them.... Then? I grabbed Nightalon and realized I could do something with this... I also really wanted to explore some more themes surrounding being trans n such and that all combined made for a much more interesting version of Night... One that was also HEAVILY based off Rebecca from Crazy Ex Girlfriend.

That leads us to modern Nightalon! With a backstory that faces struggles with her peers and a resentment towards her family. She threw herself into the very media and fiction I just mentioned.

If you've read Just A Girl In Love [If you look up the song lyrics, you'll see why I chose that song to be the title of her debut fic, its just too fitting-] you'll knew where this headed, she sees Radio, falls in love and while I really want to elaborate more on this in the form of another fanfic from her perspective I might as well spell out more of the subtle parts of that fic.

Nightalon is entranced in the idea of finding someone who she percieves as "Broken" and "Fixing" them, but the fiction she consumes has not given her any healthy ideas on how to do that. As her and Radio grow closer, Nightalon feeds into Radio's worst traits, she wants Radio to embrace her emotional instability, because it plays into her fantasies. It's not malicious but it is unhealthy, Nightalon thinks that Radio is perfect, that she doesn't need to change but instead just needs to run away with her forever and embrace who she is. Night does not trust the adults around her to help Radio due to her own truama too, and therefore tells Radio not to as well. She's not intending to, but she's treating Radio, her relationship with her and the world generally as a big novel where she is the main character and has all the answers. Where her delicate female touch will cure Radio of her depression and her issues and the adults around them just need to catch up with that fact. She's stuck up, views most of her family as somewhat beneath her due to their brutish and dumb nature, and sees herself as the protagonist with all the right ideas.

But reality will hit her hard and what will she do when it does? She didn't mean to hurt anyone, so does she double down on her innocence, or come to terms with having hurt the delicate rose no, the Person she loved more than anything in the world?

these are all just a bunch of random headcanons because i think he’s neat!

༅ first off,,,, i don’t think he’s a redhead. this man is in front of his computer working all day or playing and like i’ve posted about before probably just heats up really simple not good for him meals so what makes y’all think he’s going to be retouching his roots every time they start to peek through!

༅ seb smells like coffee and wet dirt + he uses green apple shampoo to keep his hair nice and healthy :^)

༅ although he knows it’s not good for him he always ends up smoking at night because it helps him relax and gets him away from the blue light of his pc so he can actually rest a lil but he’s working on letting go of that habit!

༅ he loves flossing with those lil minty floss/toothpick things they sell!! pierre doesn’t keep many at his store but he always has at least 2-3 bags because he knows seb always comes in asking for them

༅ doesn’t actually own a pet frog only because he enjoys seeing them out in the wild so much! honestly he probably takes care of the ones by the lake whenever he has the chance, i can imagine him picking up bait from willy’s shop and leaving it out on rainy days when there’s more froggies than usual :3 only reason he keeps the frog him and the farmer rescue is because he grows so attached to it but he still takes it out around the lil ponds in the farm when it’s rainy!!

༅ seb’s the type of guy to keep hair ties and clips on him 1. because his bangs get in the way if he’s helping out at the farm or during really, really intense pool games with sam and 2. if he knows you use them he’s extra careful about always keeping them on him just in case you need to put your hair up at the mines or at the farm ESPECIALLY during the summer time

༅ he cuts his own hair and helps sam and abigail with theirs so if the farmer ever needs a trim or if they wanna change it up he’s always there to figure something new out. one year they got paired up during the flower dance and he got to their house a couple hours earlier than planned to put flowers in the farmer’s hair to match their outfits 🥺

༅ he’s suchhhhhhh a jokester! i don’t imagine seb being serious around his friends he’s honestly probably the one that jokes around the most so when someone else comes by everyone gets whiplash by how monotone he gets LMAO,,, one second he’s talking about this raccoon he saw at the city when he went to a gig late at night and how he was legit trying to put his leather jacket on it, but then demetrius walks in to check on everyone and he just,,, stops giggling and pauses the video he took and just looks at demetrius until he goes back upstairs so he can keep telling the story ajsjsdh

༅ he watches anime. that’s it i’m not elaborating further

༅ actually yea i am, he loves slice of life and romance anime. he went through a phase where he would drag sam to this lil bookstore in zuzu and would binge read manga til they kicked them out. he is also the official sponsor of the manga section at the stardew valley library/museum B^)

༅ no matter if his relationship with the farmer is platonic or romantic he’s so touchy once he gets comfortable! i imagine sam and abigail are always hugging and trying to cuddle seb but he acts like he doesn’t like it if others are around but once he gets comfy he’ll relax and initiate the skinship. it can be small things like just holding hands if they’re exploring around the forest or the mines, letting them lean on him if they’re sitting out by the docks, high fives when they get tickets to some gig in zuzu city, and of course tight hugs and so much praise if they get him one of his favorite gifts :<

ok i have so much conflict bc i really genuinely do not hate marcus? i feel like everyone does and i don't? we won't dive in to what that says about me. but james stresses me out a lil i won't lie like i have so many questions sir. i do appreciate his hint of a moral compass and his value of love as a being, but these two really mess with my pea brain jsdkla i have no idea what to think of them 92% of the time.

How I feel about this character

we all know how i feel about him i absolutely love that man. i love watching the way he develops over time. going back and listening to the earlier videos and listening to how sharp his edges were vs now? he still has them but you can just tell that he's grown into himself with angel and as an alpha. and even within his ability to be softer with like other people in his pack idk i ALSO think its really cool to see him grow through his grief of his dad and to watch how the healing, even for this untouchable big strong alpha, isn't linear. as a listener it is Nice to hear. i could go on.

angel >:3 and, like i said for sam the idea of sam/darlin/david/angel does a lil somethin to my heart. but mainly, romantically just angel, i think their connection is just so unique and his mate being an unempowered human just adds a certain level of vulnerability between them that i don't think can really be duplicated

ASHHHH i <3 those boys i love their friendship so much without asher i don't think david would be half the person he is now. as much as he complains about how annoying asher is i fr believe that ash probably saved david from himself and that type of connection with someone? yea they are platonic soulmates and im taking that to my grave.
