i think a lot abt biker and jacket's relationship for someone who does not like them together romantically
#and talk abt them a lot for that matter fgdfgfgd#idk!! i just think that there's like. possibilities there y'kno#like there's a reason why i made a playlist for them. bc if you know me then you know me making ship playlists and like#actually sharing them. is a little unusual. bc i have others that aren't hlm related#but this is the first time i've felt strongly abt them (the playlists) enough to actually share#which makes sense for beardjacket and jacketgf since i post abt them a lot#but for biker&jacket (esp consdiering that it's a ship playlist /meant/ to not be romantic) it's like. god idk how to say it properly#like there's tragedy there. if u kno what i mean. just inherently#like there's a reason that of all my jacketshipping playlists the biker&jacket one has the most amount of songs w no words (5/10 of them)#bc to me their relationship isn't built on affection/any sort of real attraction. it's built on understanding.#on needing this person in your life even if it isn't good for either of you because not having them there would just make things even worse#bc the beardjacket playlist also has a genrous amount of songs w no words (4/10) but i have specific reasons for having them there#the main general ones being /comfort/. and longing. bc that's what those songs meant to me personally#w the biker&jacket one i have straight breakcore songs on there (bc to me biker/jacket means breakcore) and a 25 minute ambient/vpw track#as well as release by M|O|O|N and it's ok you're ok by bonjr bc to me all of those songs are like#like regardless of how i personally feel about them they're not meant to be. satisfying? ig?? like they're meant to be unsettling in a way#i'm essentially trying to encapsulate how games like hlm and firewatch make me feel#like. like this is how it's supposed to be. even if it's not what anyone wanted#anyways. i need to keep studying.#the trash speaks

Dear Americans and people outside Mexico: Please stop.
I have seen many posts of people outside Mexico saying: Congrats, Mexico! Claudia, a leftist feminist ambientalist jewish woman, is president! Take notes US!
Meanwhile, you go out in the streets in Mexico today and no one is celebrating. No one. The streets are empty, everything feels sad and hopeless.
A lot of people didn't want her. Because we know what is going to happen.
Morena (her political group) is literally in every position of power. From senators, to city governors. They have EVERY SINGLE thing in the goverment.
You know how bad things are gonna get for us here? Do you know what she has allowed? What THEY have done to our country? All the shit we have been through because of them?
No, because you don't care. You haven't cared enough to research who this woman is really and just praise her without knowing a shit.
Because you have to make everything about you, don't you?.
"I can't believe Mexico has a woman president before US!"
"OMG, US take notes!"
"The US-"
Can you stop for a second and think outside of your bubble? Do you truly know who this woman is and what she has done to Mexico? Or you are just using this to talk about you and your own country and problems?
Please. Please do your research.
She is not your precious feminist ally.
She has denied multiple times the ongoing wave of violence against women in Mexico (11 women go missing A DAY). She has sent riot police to gas feminist protests.
Did you hear what I said?
11 WOMEN GO MISSING A DAY.
EVERY DAY 11 WOMEN NEVER COME BACK, ARE KILLED, ARE RAPED, ARE TORTURED, ARE GETTING FORGOTTEN WITHOUT LEAVING A TRACE. EVERYDAY.
And she denies this. She has denied MULTIPLE TIMES that the violence against women is at an all time high.
A feminist would denied that 11 mothers/sisters/daughters/aunts/girls/women/people are going missing PER DAY?
No. Because she doesn't fucking care.
She is no ambientalist.
She was more than happy to support the Tren Maya, a project AMLO, the former president, was hooked on making since the begining.
The issue?
DEFORESTATION. MASSIVE DEFORESTATION.
10 MILLION TREES HAVE BEEN CUT DOWN.
Entire natural spaces gone for a train that isn't even working and already is having problems.
Also, how can I forget this?
Tumblr media
27 people died, 80 injured.
The line 12 (Linea 12) of the CDMX Metro collapsed. The structure and the entire transport had (and still are) been neglected by the city administration.
Guess who was in charge of CDMX at the time of the tragedy?
Exactly, Claudia Sheinbaum. What was she doing instead of sending resources and money to fix and mantain the Metro?
But political propaganda for herself, of course!
And even after that tragedy, there have been multiple issues and accidents in the metro. A fucking coworker of a family member was trapped in a wagon alongside multiple people for HOURS due to a malfuction of the metro. They weren't allowed to get out even if they were cooking alive due to the heat of being inside a closed wagon and police ordered them TO NOT FILM what was happening to them.
She is not a saint. She is not an icon. She is not someone you should praise.
FUCKING INFORM YOURSELF BEFORE TALKING.
Mexico is not USA. Get it? We don't have the same politics and issues you have, get that?
The entire world doesn't revolve around you. We aren't your argument to use, we aren't your little meme to fuck around with.
We are people that are tired. People that didn't want this. People that are upset, dissapointed, mad, hopeless.
My blog isn't a political place, so as a final note, I want to say this:
I want to be wrong. I really, really want to be fucking wrong.
I want my country, Mexico, to be ok. To be a better place to live.
I HOPE to be wrong and that things get better. For me, for my family, for my friends, for the millions of people that stay, study, work, breathe, live and love this country.
Claudia Sheinbaum, I really want to be wrong about you. Not because I love you, but because I love Mexico.
I don't have high hopes for the future, but I really, REALLY, want things to be better.
That's all I have to say for now.

Saw a post in the tags; did exandria historically have a thing abt persecuting ruidusborn? The post mind you was largely lambasting the gods along the lines of "these gods should shut the fuck up abt their extermination when their followers in modern day are going after ruidusborn" which... Doesn't seem like the same thing for a number of reasons but also I wanted to ask a wiki person because i didn't think that anyone was actually doing that
Hi anon,
I don't know if I've seen that post precisely - there's a very good chance it's from someone who I have blocked and haven't thought to check to see what wild stabs in the dark they're making now, to be blunt about it - but this is pretty much entirely incorrect and/or deliberately leaving out crucial context.
Exandria historically had a stigma about Ruidusborn. There has been no evidence of widespread persecution specifically for being Ruidusborn. What little negative responses we have seen and have evidence of has either not actually been specifically "this person is Ruidusborn" but rather "this person has uncontrolled and invasive psychic powers that are negatively impacting me specifically and so I am, understandably, put off"; or has been a mere acknowledgement that a stigma exists. Notably, this has not specifically come from followers of the gods. We haven't seen any information about the presence of religion in Gelvaan and Laura herself as Imogen has alternately said once that she did pray to the gods and multiple times that she didn't, so anything here is entirely presumptive. (We also know that Imogen literally didn't know what Ruidusborn were until it was told to her, so I think we can pretty safely say that prejudice against Ruidusborn simply for being born under the moon, rather than like, the invasive psychic powers, was not the issue there). Alma, Orym's mother, mentioned that the Ashari attempt to avoid having Ruidusborn by delaying birth simply because of that stigma (episode 3x66) and the Ashari aren't affiliated with a deity.
The Ruidusborn page on the wiki is here, and you can cross-check with the citations (I am flattered that you ask me as a wiki person, but a wiki is a public document anyone can edit - if you are wondering, and especially if you are trying to debunk something, please cross check citations for the source of truth). I cover the key ones below.
Per Call of the Netherdeep, page 6, the widespread superstition about Ruidusborn themselves is that they are "destined to bring suffering to others, or to experience great tragedy in their own lives". This is actually less harsh than the superstition about those who study Ruidus, who are believed to be "compelled to cause misfortune and woe". Estani, in Episode 3x19 states the following: "Many important, whether for honor or great sorrow, individuals of history have been claimed to have been born under such a ruddy light." We also know, from Call of the Netherdeep, that Alyxian the Apotheon was both Ruidusborn and a devotee of the Prime Deities, receiving blessings from three of them. Obviously Fearne lived a weird and sheltered life, but we didn't find out she was Ruidusborn until we met Birdie, and she never experienced any prejudice about it during EXU or early C3 or really after that, unless you count the fact that people attuned to the conflict on either side (see next two paragraphs) like Otohan and Groon noticed it. In short: the lore about Ruidusborn and the responses to Ruidusborn in history are varied and complicated.
Finally, just from watching the show: people who do not know Imogen is Ruidusborn nor related to Liliana and whom she does not use her psychic powers on tend to respond pretty positively to her now that those powers are largely under control. I've talked before but there is a certain type of fan of Imogen that leans heavily on the "stripped of choice" narrative in which she has never done anything wrong in her entire life and has always been a victim of cruel circumstance (and more generally tends to abdicate all responsibility for their blorbos - and, frankly, themselves - not realizing that people who squirm out of their obligations are loathed for good reason and they're only worsening the response to both their blorbos and themselves). Anyway, the idea that she was persecuted simply for the circumstances of her birth and not that those circumstances led her to do things that are genuinely extremely offputting, even if done involuntarily, is a relic of that "stripped of choice victim" false narrative.
Now: it is technically true that followers of the gods in Exandria in 843 PD are going after a large number of Ruidusborn. If you have been watching Campaign 3 of Critical Role and are not absolutely fucking stupid you may have noticed this is because the Ruby Vanguard, which heavily recruited from Ruidusborn, have instigated widespread unrest and are actively trying to kill the gods by unleashing Predathos. They are not going after all Ruidusborn; in fact, they've worked with several Ruidusborn prior to Imogen and Fearne and their main reason for suspicion was "you are literally the children of generals for our enemies, and also all other Ruidusborn we previously worked with ended up leaving to join the other side", not "you are Ruidusborn and so you are bad." They are going after the army that recruited Ruidusborn to kill the gods. The Ruby Vanguard shot first.
Really, it's the same nonsensical circular logic being put forth re Aeor and Ruidusborn. The people who specifically plotted annihilation of the gods first were Aeor (with the Factorum Malleus) and Ludinus and the Ruby Vanguard (with the Malleus Keys and the intended unleashing of Predathos). To be clear: I am not denying people may have had negative experiences with the gods, but in both cases, their response wasn't to spite them: it was to attempt total annihilation. It was to create something with the intent of destroying every single god. We do have a word for that, and people keep solely using it about Aeor while ignoring it was the instigator. The gods (and their followers) are in both the case of Aeor and the Vanguard responding to an attempt at their extermination, and then these people are like "um, why won't the gods just sit still and let themselves be executed? Figures that these horrible entities are trying to stop the firing squad that has their guns pointed at them. This is just more proof that they should die - what kind of terrible person doesn't lie down and let themselves be killed!"
For what it's worth, I do not think that if Bells Hells and the Exandrian Accord foil Ludinus and the Vanguard's plans they will then proceed to exterminate all Ruidusborn, because their intent is stopping people from unleashing an existential threat that would kill all the gods, not murdering people because they were born during Ruidus flares. The goal here is not extermination; the goal is their own continued survival which requires the painful and difficult choice of sometimes killing those who are dedicated to trying to kill them. This isn't like, a novel concept in fantasy, history, nor ethics, but we are not dealing with the brightest stars in the fandom firmament here.
I mentioned before that I have yet to see a post that posits all the gods should die or that sides with Aeor entirely that isn't riddled with factual inaccuracies from the lore, and that I wish we had "readers added context" options on Tumblr; sadly, we do not. I am happy to answer questions like these, but I do want to encourage people to check the actual text. If anything seems off? You can definitely ask me (and I do have all the CR sourcebooks so if you don't, I get it) but also we've got searchable transcripts that I highly recommend using. Don't take any posts - mine included - at face value if it doesn't line up with what you personally understand. But also make sure what you personally understand is supported by the text.

Hi! I love your work! do you think you could do one where the shy hero needs a place to stay and finds themselves asking the villain if they can stay at his place?
They used to be friends. The hero wouldn't have considered it if they didn't use to be friends.
It still felt like an exceptionally dumb thing to consider.
They were not friends anymore.
"You're staring," the villain said.
The hero immediately dropped their gaze, and wished they had their mask to cover the rush of heat flooding their face. A minute or so later, their attention had fixed on the villain again - sitting opposite them in the train carriage, because fate hated them both.
(And because the train home was a tiny little local thing that had yet to catch up fully with the modern age.)
The villain watched the scenery blurring in the train window; trees to replace the concrete forests of the capital, scrubby grass. Soon, soon, they would turn a corner and there would be sea.
The hero caught the villain studying them in the reflection of the glass, clearly having noted they were being observed again. The villain raised a brow but didn't bother to turn their head.
The hero swallowed.
It wasn't safe, or it didn't feel safe, to watch the villain even through the distance of a reflection. The villain was not Medusa. Their threat did not diminish simply because it wasn't tackled head-on.
"So you're staying at your family house?" the hero asked.
"As I've done every year since we've known each other." The villain's voice was as dry as cracking skin, and the hero winced.
They fidgeted on their chair. They toyed with the zip on their rucksack. Obviously, obviously, the villain was staying at their home.
The villain's eyes narrowed. They turned their head to examine the hero more closely, and the hero once again hurled their attention elsewhere. It hit the train window like a tragedy of a bird, with one big impact, before it dropped.
"What is it."
The hero bit their lip. "Can I stay with you?"
"Excuse me?" The dryness vanished.
"Your place is huge! I won't be any trouble. I'll like, hide in the loft or something. You won't even see me. I know you probably have guests or-"
"Why aren't you going home?"
"Is that a no?"
"It's a question. I suggest you answer it."
There - the corner, and the sea. It stretched endless, wine-dark in the fading light. The hero set their rucksack on their lap again, squeezing it against their chest.
"[Hero]." The villain's voice softened, just a fraction. "You can stay if you tell me."
Maybe they could find a hotel. There was no way they were finding a hotel room so close to the festival. If they could find and afford a hotel...
"I can't go home."
"Yes, I gathered that by the fact that you're asking me for a favour."
The hero grimaced, shoulders tensing. Their arms tightened around their bag. They jolted when the villain's hand landed, gently, on their knee. Just one light touch.
Their eyes met.
The villain's eyes were not warm, but they weren't hostile either. There was no unkindness. It was a careful neutrality, as much of a shield as the hero's bag, but..
"Theyfoundoutmyjobanddon'twantmetocomehome."
The villain blinked. It took them a second to translate, to replay the words back slowly for themselves, before they went rigid.
"Your job? You mean -" The villain gestured at the hero's face, where the mask would normally sit.
"That thing. Yeah."
"And they don't want you to come home? They...they do realise you're not me, right?"
The hero laughed, catching themselves by surprise as much as the villain. They shook their head. "They actually agree more with you, you'll be delighted to know. Obviously, I haven't told them it's you, but..." They were getting off track. "So I can stay with you?"
The villain stared.
The hero's stomach twisted. Maybe - they didn't want to believe it, but maybe, the deal had just been a ploy for information. They should have lied. They should have come up with some other reason they couldn't go home. Anything but the truth.
"Please," the hero forced out, barely above a rasp. Embarrassment flared up their face again, like an outbreak, or a plague symptom.
The villain seemed to snap back to themselves. They nodded, before they spoke, gaze returning to the window. They continued to sit in that rigid way, expression utterly fixed and....
Angry. They were angry.
"Sorry," the hero said. "I know it's-"
"-You have absolutely nothing to apologise for."
"Oh, yeah. You love my path in life." It blurted out, as dry as the villain's voice had been.
It was the villain's turn to laugh. They shook their head, studying the hero through the train window again.
"I wouldn't kick you out of my house for that. Just kill you. Far more reasonable."
That time, as absurd as it was, they laughed together. And it felt...not like old times, but something new. Something other than heroes and villains and an endless fight.
The train pulled up at the station as the last of the sun sunk beneath the waves. The evening air was crisp, and smelled like salt and home.
The hero's chest ached.
That night, the villain gave them the best guest room in the house.

"She was a better person then I, I guess."
Yeah she is i would have stabbed all of them, cover my cutesy pink dress in their blood
Reader is thiiiiiis👌close. Fuckers need to Back Up.
Only difference? Reader will stab you in a totally rational, "you pushed me too far, but I am otherwise reasonable" way. But SISTER? She will smile benevolently, hire assassins, poison your tea, lace everything you touch with fast acting neurotoxins, blackmail your personal servant into trying to stab you in the night then frame them, and if THAT fails?
Oh nooooo~
A HUNTING ACCIDENT~☆
*crossbow cocking sound*
HER shit is both premeditated and utterly emotionless. If your aren't her Beloved Little Sister? You are NOTHING. She was promised a crown. She was forced to put up with an idiot for said crown. Trained to rule beside him, made to sacrifice her wants and desires, treated like an object. A PRIZE.
Look how PRETTY she is! Isn't he LUCKY! Him, him, him!
Fools.
They made her study history, then did not pay attention to what she LEARNED. Oh DEAR~ such times of TRAGEDY there have been. When UNFORTUNATE EVENTS befell the royal house. Leaving kings dead before their sons could Rule.
What then?
Why... their WIFE took over. Regents for their Sons. Oh my, oh my. How.... INTERESTING.
So...... he's OPTIONAL, then? She only really needs a SON out of him? Good to know. She and her Sister can raise the boy together. She would, of course, NEED her sister's support, after all. Being both a new mother and fresh widow. How utterly tragic~

Mikoto T2 Q20
Tumblr media
Q: If you could be reborn, would you want to be yourself, again? A: I'd say so, yeah. I don't think my life's all that bad, really. (More directly translated: Q: If you were reborn, would you want to again be yourself? A: Yeah, that's right. I'm thinking it's not so bad.)
It's interesting that his answer is really... vague? "Yeah, sure, wouldn't be bad to be reborn as myself, I guess." It's not a solid yes or no, he's not saying that his life is bad, but... ...Do we believe this one? Like, is Mikoto actually fine with his life? I reckon he thinks he is, he wants to be fine with the life he has because it's fitting into his ideal of "what proper Japanese adults do", but it's killing him. Hoping that with the power of denial and belief everything will all be okay. All the characters of Milgram are protagonists of their own tragedies, little moral lessons and social commentary and an ARG that makes you take a moment and think, all in the costume of a simple fictional music video project. You can put meaning into anything, if you try, but at the end of the day, isn't the meaning of the Milgram obedience studies based on the reactions of the "teacher", not whatever task the "learner" (an actor, a fictional character) was given by the scientist (another fictonal character, an authority to give you meaning)...? Aren't we the subjects of interest, here?
Ahaha I'm rambling. I think these might be all the questions for Mikoto, so should I like... do something else??

The fact that so many people view what Eren did as something selfless and heroic just blows my mind. He’s become so popular because of this too. Like the amount of people I see that praise him for what he’s done and just misunderstand his character and motivations is crazy even when he outwardly states what he is doing is bad multiple times. So many believe that he just did everything for his friends and in the end he achieved his goal. You have people praising him and then slandering the alliance members for wanting to stop all the death and destruction to save humanity which has been a core theme in all of AOT. It genuinely feels like they’ve watched a whole different anime. Maybe yams wasn’t clear enough for THESE people that what he is doing is wrong?? Isayama did say that he wanted people feel a little sympathetic towards Eren and his actions but like you should have the braincells to still understand he is in the wrong. Idk I just think the misunderstanding of Eren and AOT in general needs to be studied.
It really is bizarre, isn't it?
I don't really know how Isayama could have been any clearer, to be honest. He even made changes to the end of the anime to make it MORE clear that Eren did it for himself, and people still can't see it. Apparently, nothing is ever enough for some people, and it's honestly disturbing how many people just... don't get it, or aren't willing to accept that Eren was just a bad person. It's ironic, because Eren accepts that about himself. He knows he's a bad person. That's where all his self-loathing comes from. Of course we're meant to feel some sympathy for Eren. His very nature destroyed him, and that's a tragedy in and of itself. But we're not meant to feel sympathetic toward his actions, or the reasoning behind his actions, because those actions were entirely selfish in nature. We're meant to understand that a person like Eren should never have wound up with the power he did in the first place. The core message at the heart of the entire story is that when you oppress a group of people, inevitably, someone who shouldn't have power ends up with it. Someone who will use their power for ill. And that's what happened. It's why Reiner says repeatedly that Eren was the last person in the world who should have "ended up with the power of the Coordinate". Reiner recognized that because he saw himself in Eren. He saw that same capacity for evil, for nothing more than selfish gain.
Eren knew what he was doing was wrong, he knew it wasn't justified, and he knew it wouldn't solve anything, and yet you still have people claiming that he did it because he believed it was "the only way" to save his friends. Eren flatly admits, in the end, that that isn't true, when he admits that he knew he would fail to wipe out all of humanity beyond the walls, and yet he still went through with it, and he flatly admits more than once the selfish desire at the core of his actions. He wanted to do it, he wanted to see the sight of a desolate world. His own words are confirmation of it.
The people who slander the alliance for trying to stop a genocide are beyond sick, and I don't even know what to say to people like that. They're seriously delusional. You're right, it probably should be a point of study, lol. To really look at what sort of mental delusion leads to people justifying or excusing genocidal actions.

Little Shop of Horrors Pokémon Teams
Hi! I haven't mentioned it much on here, but I'm a massive Pokémon fan! And as I've been replaying Alpha Sapphire recently, I've been wanting to try and make some Pokémon teams for some LSoH characters. So that's what I'm doing now! (I might expand this into an entire Pokémon AU, who knows! Depends on if I have time.)
I've picked Seymour, Audrey, and Orin for this character exercise. While I probably could include other members of the cast, for the sake of my time, I'm limiting myself to 3 characters. And besides, the other popular characters aren't nearly as fleshed out in ways that I can use for Pokémon team-building.
For all three characters, I'll be giving them a full team of six Pokémon. While it'd be more realistic to give them less Pokémon, a full team lets me be more creative. Let me have this one thing!
For the actual team-building, I'm choosing their Pokémon mostly based on what relevance they would have to the person practically. Symbolism will be considered and incorporated, but it's second to practicality. Additionally, each character gets their own theme motifs, which helps me pick which Pokémon are the most relevant to them. I'm also going to describe what kind of Trainer they would be and how they would use and interact with their Pokémon!
And finally, while I will be describing relevant details about each Pokémon, this will probably be the most enjoyable for those familiar with Pokémon in some way. Either way, I hope you enjoy!
Seymour
Main Types: Grass, Ghost
Motifs: Plants, vampiric dynamics, meekness, subversion, tragedy
I believe that Seymour would approach Pokémon like a researcher, not unlike a Pokémon professor. He'd take a specific interest in Grass types, so he'd catch and raise a variety of Grass types in order to research them. I think this interest would coexist with his interest in botany, so maybe he'd specifically research the connection between Grass types and actual plants? I don't think he'd be that passionate about battling, but he would battle Grass types against each other for research purposes and would therefore be pretty decent at it. I also think that he has other Pokémon in the PC, so the Pokémon I'm assigning him would be the ones he has around more often, or the ones he has on hand during the main plot.
Tumblr media
Vileplume: Vileplume resemble a corpse flower, which is already perfect imagery for Seymour. Additionally, it is constantly emitting toxic pollen from its petals, which would negativity affect Seymour's health the more time he spent with it. I think he would have a Vileplume in order to study it, and he would have mixed feelings toward it. Perhaps he raised it from an Oddish into a Vileplume, so he feels that inherent bond, but he can feel the negative effect it's having on him in real time.
Gourgeist: Despite its cuteness, Gourgeist is an eerie and dangerous Pokémon. It's known to guide the living into the afterlife, therefore killing them. It's also known to grab potential prey with its hair-like appendages and sing while they struggle. Seymour would probably have a few Gourgeist (and a few Pumpaboos) of various sizes in order to study their differences. Maybe during the main plot, he can swap them out from smallest to biggest?
Lileep: After somehow getting his hands on a Root Fossil, Seymour would get the fossil revived by a scientist. Lileep, the Pokémon born from this, is an ancient creature that's been extinct for millions of years. When it was alive, it would latch itself to the seafloor and sway like seaweed, luring in potential prey. When it got a chance, it would lunge and swallow its prey whole. Seymour would be ecstatic to have the chance to study this ancient Grass type, but he'd be a little worried about the possible consequences of reviving something that hasn't been on Earth in a millenia...
Applin: A small, meek little Pokémon that hides in an apple for its entire life. The apple provides it food and protection from predators. Seymour would probably have one to research what kind of apples they prefer to reside in and the relationship between the Applin and its apple. He would have the means to evolve it, but he secretly dreams of presenting it to Audrey as a declaration of love, a tradition from the Galar region that he read about.
Tangrowth: Made entirely out of fast-growing vines, Tangrowth immediately grows back any lost limbs. Seymour would find its regenerative abilities fascinating and would test it out in multiple ways. He gives the vine cuttings to Audrey, who uses them to create faux-shrubs by discreetly tying them together. I would imagine his dynamic with this Tangrowth would be strained, since the majority of their interactions involve Seymour chopping or burning its arms off.
Litwick: While its Fire typing would contrast with his interest in plants and Grass types, I could definitely see Seymour having one in order to deliberately test Grass types against a type they're weak against. I also think he could have one as a companion, maybe to help provide light in his room? However, its entire gimmick is that it slowly drains the lifeforce of other living beings around it, all to keep its flame burning. Seymour would be unknowingly draining his lifespan when he spends time with it, not unlike how Audrey II drains his lifeforce in order to grow.
Audrey
Main Types: Normal, Fairy, Grass, Psychic
Motifs: Domestic, fashionable, dreams, passion, green
Audrey would almost exclusively have Pokémon as companions and to help her with her everyday tasks. She would always try to put aside time in the day to care for each one! I think she would become a skilled Pokémon groomer because of this, a skill she could maybe use later for extra income? She would know how to battle but wouldn't enjoy it and would probably avoid it at all costs. I feel strongly that seeing Pokémon fighting and getting injured would upset her, but she would try not to make her aversion obvious. She forms deep bonds with her Pokémon, learning their individual personalities and their preferences, and would help them as much as they help her. I can also imagine her giving each one their own heartfelt nickname!
Tumblr media
Indeedee (Female): They feed off of positive energy, so they take care of and do chores for their Trainers in order to cultivate joy for them. Audrey's Indeedee would affectionately dote on her and help her with chores, both in her home and in the shop, and it would try to keep her happy in any way it can. I think they'll also mirror each other in the fulfillment they find in domestic activities.
Furfrou: Furfrou, aside from being fashionable Pokémon, are also a wonderful choice for protection. Furfrou were originally designated as the guardians of the king of Kalos. Audrey's Fufrou would be her loyal guard dog, protecting her from harm. I think she'd also enjoy getting it trimmed and styled in connection to her interest in fashion! I also believe she'd learn how to trim and style it herself, possibly inventing brand new Audrey-exclusive Furfrou trims.
Floette: This Pokémon is dedicated to growing and taking care of flowers. It uses its powers to help them prosper and thrive, so a Floette would be helpful for any florist. Audrey's Floette would help her in her florist job, keeping the flowers healthy and looking fresh, and maybe even aiding her in making arrangements. (I believe if she does escape Skid Row and moves to her dream home, like she does in the theatrical ending, she'll purchase a Shiny Stone to evolve it into a Florges. Florges dedicate their lives to protecting and nurturing gardens, so it'll help her with her actual garden and symbolically protect her home and her peace.)
Munna (Shiny): Munna feed off of people's dreams, so it would definitely stay with her thanks to her dreams and ambitions of somewhere that's green. They also eat nightmares, which would be very helpful if she has any trauma-related nightmares (which I'm very confident she does.) I chose a Shiny one for the aesthetic, it becomes decorated with green flowers notably. She'd be aware that her Munna is special, and perhaps out of fear, she would only reveal it to people she trusts entirely.
Bellossom: Like Audrey, this Pokémon thrives in sunlight. During long periods of cloudy weather, it does a dance ritual to try and summon the sun. I think this would mirror Audrey wonderfully, as she too blooms into herself when placed in a better, healthier environment. Practically, I think her Bellossom would aid her in her florist job, similar to her Floette. (There's also a parallel to Seymour's Vileplume, as both Pokémon evolve from the Pokémon Gloom. Bellossom evolves via a Sun Stone and Vileplume from a Leaf Stone.)
Alcremie (Vanilla Cream, Clover Sweet): This Pokémon is popular with pastry chefs because it can produce a very delicious whipped cream. It becomes sweeter and richer depending on how happy it is. Audrey would help her Milcery evolve into the Alcremie form that it wants, selecting both the flavor and the decoration for itself. Her Alcremie would happily help her when she's cooking or baking, and she'd always include at least a little bit of its whipped cream in her pastries. It would become her not-so-secret ingredient, elevating the taste of her sweets.
Orin
Main Types: Dark, Steel, Psychic
Motifs: Power, manipulation, tools, violence, teeth
Orin, like all good Pokémon villains, sees Pokémon as tools. He would pick his team based on strength and aesthetics, preferring Pokémon that match his sense of style and his values. He'd be very passionate about battling, too! His strength in battles would always be limited since he would never put any effort into actually building a bond with his Pokémon, but he makes up for it with calculated strategies. Thanks to his high income, he can also afford to professionally train his Pokémon and give them supplements to help boost their stats (aka their EVs.) His battle style is very, very tricky; he definitely fights dirty, making use of status moves, items, and unexpected abilities to always have the upper hand on an opponent. I don't think he'd be above cheating as well. Battling would definitely be his second passion, his first always being his career.
Tumblr media
Krookodile: A widely feared Pokémon, Krookodile is both incredibly violent and physically strong. It has a bite strength that's strong enough to crush a car, and it's able to clearly see even the smallest prey from up to 30 miles away. It's also frighteningly patient, able to hide motionless while waiting for prey for days. Orin would utilize its Moxie ability, which raises its attack each time it defeats a Pokémon. Once Krookodile gets on a roll, Orin would gleefully watch the violence that follows.
Mawile: This Pokémon lures prey into a false sense of security, before turning around and biting down with its large second mouth, which is full of razor-sharp teeth. It's a conniving and vicious Pokémon. Orin would use his Mawile as his token Mega Evolution, despite the fact that he would deliberately avoid forming a bond with it. Because of this, each time he'd mega evolve Mawile, it would suffer through intense agony and lose control of its body, going berserk. Orin would use this as a part of his strategy, but more importantly, he would enjoy the suffering he puts it through.
Malamar: A sinister Pokémon with frighteningly strong hypnotic powers. The lights that flash on its torso put its victim completely under its control. Malamar would be the Pokémon that Orin actually "bonds" with the most, since getting on its bad side is not advised. They do share some common interests, so it works out. He would take full advantage of its Contray ability, turning stat-lowering effects into stat-boosts to ravage the opposing Pokémon with its move Superpower.
Metagross: This four-legged Pokémon also has four brains, making it smarter than a supercomputer. While its superior intelligence can be used for good, that's not always the case. It's not uncommon for a Metagross to strategize some of the most creatively cruel methods of defeating an opponent, becoming intentionally sadistic. Orin's Metagross would be an example. While Orin would prefer to have Metagross as his Mega Evolution Pokémon, Metagrossite is practically impossible to find since it's so sought after! Regardless, he'd take advantage of its Clear Body ability (its stats can't be lowered by an opponent) and its incredible physical attack, and he would let it have its way in battles.
Bisharp: A naturally dominanting and merciless Pokémon. In the wild, it commands a group of Pawniard to do its bidding. It only moves to defeat prey after its minions have weakened it into immobility, cruelly delivering the final blow. It always keeps its blades as sharp and clean as it can. Orin's Bisharp would have the rare ability Pressure, which scares opposing Pokémon into not being able to use moves as much as it usually can. He'd use this to stall an opponent into near helplessness before kicking them while they're down.
Indeedee (Male): His only Pokémon that would be used regularly outside of battles. Orin's Indeedee would essentially be his dental assistant, probably to avoid having someone on a payroll. Besides, having a Pokémon with psychic powers who loves busywork is more convenient. It would still feed on Orin's positive emotions, and it would actually thrive considering how much Orin enjoys his job, but the context of those joyful feelings would warp its temperament. It would seem to learn to enjoy human pain and suffering as much as its Trainer, and unlike other Indeedee it would not be conflict-averse. Orin would only use his Indeedee during double battles, using its Psychic Surge ability and other supportive moves to aid either Metagross or Malamar.
And as a fun little bonus...
Audrey II, But It's a Pokémon!
Rather than substituting an existing Pokémon in the role of Audrey II, I'd like to make the man-eating plant a brand-new Pokémon!
If I was writing a Pokémon version of LSoH, I'd have Seymour accidentally discover a new legendary Pokémon from space. He names it "Autreeteu," a barely concealed reference to Audrey. It attracts a lot of attention since it's a brand new Pokémon that no one's ever seen, but Seymour soon discovers the cost of keeping it happy and healthy.
Autreeteu
Type: Grass/Dark
Species: Consuming Pokémon
Ability: Insatiable (Restores 20% less HP from consuming any food or drink items, such as Berries, Soda Pop, and Leftovers)
Pokédex Entry: Hypothesized to have come from the cosmos, Autreeteu has an unquenching hunger. After it's chosen by a Trainer, it begins to use a variety of manipulation tactics in order to make its Trainer feed it. It is almost impossible to ignore or shake off its demands, no matter how extreme.
Autreeteu doesn't evolve. However, as it feeds (or within hypothetical gameplay, every 20 levels), it undergoes a permanent Forme change. It just gets physically bigger with some small detail changes, nothing else stat-wise about it changes. The Forme change is irreversible and can not be prevented, aside from keeping it at a static level forever. You might hear it calling out to you from your party, though...
Thank you for reading all of this! I definitely got way too into this entire thing, but it was a ton of fun, and I hope people appreciate the thought I put into everything. I tried to be creative and not go for the easy or stereotypical options (no Victreebel or Carnivine for Seymour, no Sharpedo for Orin, etc.) I definitely have a ton of ideas for a Pokémon AU/rewrite, so let me know if there's any interest in that!

Vicious
Tumblr media
Daemon Targaryen x Targ!OFC Vaenya (Platonic)
All of my fics are 18+
Synopsis: Daemon has met his match in his niece Vaenya the Vicious -firstborn of the Targaryen/Hightower children. Vaenya has carved out a path of her own with a sword and her might, making a name for herself throughout the Seven Kingdoms. Fierce and not to be trifled with, Vaenya does not extend an olive branch when she could burn the entire tree down. Daemon comes to learn this very quickly.
**No incest**
Word Count: ~900
Warning: Talks of sexual situations, murder, gore. There also aren't any physical descriptors, but I made Vaenya an OC because she is a Targaryen.
AN: I haven't actually written anything in so long. This has been sitting in my drafts since January of LAST YEAR and I decided to go back and see what could be salvaged and reworked. This was fun to bring back to life. House of the Dragon requests are OPEN
Tumblr media
Red Keep Day of the Final Supper
“Vaenya the Vicious,” Daemon stated as she entered the study, the door shutting softly behind her. “My how you’ve grown since we last met,” His eyes trailed up and down as she advanced towards him. There wasn’t much he could look at due to her trousers and jerkin over a long sleeved blouse. Vaenya knew he did this merely to rile her up.
“Keep your flattery for someone who gives a shit,” Vaenya stated gruffly with an eye roll. “I have no need for it.”
“You wound me,”
“I’d do worse if you weren’t a guest within this keep,” She warned with a glare. Daemon held his hands up in a mock showing of surrender. “Say what it is you wish to say, Uncle. If I were to waste my time, it surely would not be with you.”
“I’ve been graced with your sharp tongue and searing glare, Vaenya. What you see as a waste, I see as an opportunity.”
“Of course you do,” Vaenya rolled her eyes as she poured herself a chalice of wine.
“I merely wish to reconnect,” Vaenya shot the whole glass back in one gulp before she locked him with a look that stated ‘state your business’.
“Do not think that I know not of your true face, Uncle. I am -luckily- none of your wives, of which you’ve had many, through a poor match made or blinded by familial love; I see you for who you are,” Vaenya’s tone held boredom. Her uncle was ever the Cat and Mouse expert, always scheming and plotting just to sew the seeds of chaos. Vaenya was unshakable.
“If you believe Rhea held love for me, then you are mistaken,” He chuckled sardonically.
“Rhea did not know what you are capable of, and she met her end because of it,” Vaenya quipped. “It seems they all meet their end when they are tied to you, do they not?”
“A tragedy,” His expression said otherwise. “My true face, dearest niece -what is it?” Daemon approached her with calculated steps. He held the eyes of a predator; precise, unrelenting, deadly. It held little effect on her. “Please enlighten me,” It was a threat, yet Vaenya paid his tone no mind and gave him a very direct answer.
“That of a parasite, latching from host to host,” Vaenya spoke plainly. A malicious grin grew upon Daemon’s thin lips. “My father cannot shake you, regardless of how far he tucks you away within the realm, or elsewhere. Never too far out of sight, nor out of mind when it comes to you. Yet you always appeared back at his feet, attaching yourself like a leech to his flesh. He sees exactly what I do, Daemon. The only difference between he and I is that I carry no love for you.”
“Tis a shame,” Daemon gave you a mocking pout. “It does boggle one’s brain. You speak of my wives -former and current- yet you yourself have not taken a husband. If your rigidness is anything to go off of, I’d wager you’ve never felt the pleasure of a man’s cock.” The way he spoke would rattle the other Ladies of the Keep -her Queen Mother in particular. They’d all flush and stammer at such vulgarities. These were words Vaenya was not shy to, nor was she shy with the acts associated with them. Daemon would not get a rise out of her.
“I’ve seen how you’ve looked at me, Uncle; How you looked at me as a girl." The implication was laid out bare. "-how you still look at me with carnal hunger that you will never be able to satiate. Always so close, yet just far enough out of reach. Does it anger you that I never once looked your way?” Vaenya's boots clicked on the stone floor with each step she took towards Daemon. “That my father never gave you the opportunity you so desperately craved?” Vaenya could see irritation begin to creep into his features. “I know you tried.” She taunted. Vaenya always found his eyes on her in the training yard as she sparred with Sir Criston whenever Daemon visited the Red Keep the few times he did throughout her life with or without Rhaenyra by his side. She continued:
“I am curious though; when will you strike on Rhaenyra? Once her usefulness nears its end? Once you find another who will dote on you who has more to offer? Will she, too, be tragically ‘felled’ by her horse? Eaten by a dragon? Or, mayhaps, bludgeoned with a stone?”
“Curiosity killed the cat, sweet niece,” Daemon all but purred.
“And satisfaction brought it back.” Vaenya responded with a smirk. She turned to leave Daemon with a heavy sense of foreboding as she calmly walked to the heavy door. Turning back as she reached for the handle, Vaenya left Daemon with parting words:
“I dearly look forward to the day that I cleave your arrogant head from your shoulders with the might of Lazarus’ blade, dear Uncle.” Vaenya’s hand tapped the tip of Lazarus’ hilt at her hip. “Though you are not worthy of its bite. My true purpose in this life shall be concluded once your body exhales its final breath and the crows are pecking at your withered flesh left out to rot,"
Daemon’s serpent grin had fallen from his lips, the corners downturning ever so slightly.
“The nourishment you provide to the scavengers will be the only good you’ve brought to the realm in your treacherous life. I shall personally see to it that the maesters’ history books will be where you are forever more known as Daemon the Leech, first and last of his name.” With that Vaenya smiled and turned her back to Daemon -a sign of clear disrespect. "Be sure to get rest, Uncle. Dinner is to be stimulating, I'm quite sure." With that Vaenya left, letting the door slam closed behind her with purpose.

Hello again! I'm the beginner that asked you the gun control question. This question is a little more hypothetical. So, obviously absolishing capitalism would decrease the crime rates a lot. But in an anarchist society, what happens to people who do crimes not caused by capitalism- things like murder and that? This is probably gonna be my lsst question don't worry.
let me address your last comment first.
please never stop sending me asks. i love this type of engagement. this is one of those unique things about tumblr that i actually appreciate tremendously, so please do not think you're bugging me. i answer when i find the time, if i feel that i can provide some kind of meaningful answer. or a funny one.
anyway, about your question: what happens to people who do crimes not caused by capitalism. let's add another layer to our conversation about crime, specifically murder, in an anarchist society.
it's important to emphasize that while we often try to separate crimes into those caused by capitalism and those that aren't, the reality can be more intertwined than it first appears. in many cases, even acts like murder can be linked back to the systemic issues inherent in capitalist societies. some theorists believe that capitalism can create mass murderers by causing people to 'malfunction.'
it may be hard to accept or seem like a stretch (i am sure someone will send me an anonymous ask letting me know) but it's really not if you break it down. capitalism, by its very nature, breeds inequality, poverty, and social alienation. these conditions create a breeding ground for various forms of violence, including murder.
think about it - a lot of murders aren't committed by inherently 'evil' people. instead, they're often the result of desperation, untreated mental illnesses, or a life measured in crime and violence as a byproduct of poverty, racism and marginalization.
for instance, studies have shown that areas with higher poverty rates often see higher rates of violent crime. it's not a coincidence. people living in poverty, facing daily struggles and systemic - often racist or classist - barriers, can find themselves in situations where violence feels like the only option. it's the tragic type of outcome you get in a system that fails to address basic human needs and inequalities.
this is before addressing mental health as a whole, which is massively underfunded and often completely ignored, especially in capitalist societies. many who fall victim to violent acts suffer from mental health issues. we need to do a better job at understanding the context of incidents like these and realize that with better support systems in place, such tragedies might be preventable.
much like gun violence, an anarchist society would aim to tackle the root causes. by removing the regressive structures of capitalism, we would work towards a system where resources are distributed more equitably, where people are supported and integrated into their communities, and where mental health is addressed proactively.
beyond this, you start getting into prison abolition, which i've covered in prior asks a few times if you're interested in checking that out.
this is all a very simplified overview, and the real world is messy and complex. but these ideas and concepts are about envisioning a society where we address the causes of violence at their roots, rather than just dealing with the cleanup work. i certainly don't have all the answers and these thoughts should be considered minor grade contribution to a broader, ongoing discussion by minds much greater than mine.

Fanfiction first lines game
Rules: List the first line of your last 10 (posted) fics and see if there's a pattern.
Thank you for tagging me, @ectogeo-rebubbles, you know how much I love a tag game!
Little Joys in the Middle of a Tragedy (Bashir/Garak, M, WIP) It was an after-thought in an already overladen meeting. Julian’s mind was only partly on the conversation; while his colleagues debated mining the wormhole, he mentally combed through the staff roster.
c/GulManners (the space reddit fic) Link to the letter itself is in the autofeed- this post is just for discussion. I want to know: what do we think grandfather was involved in?
Comparative Literature (dialogue only Garak & Worf) “Frankly, I’m surprised you agreed to this."
This is my own, my native land! (Bashir/Garak, a post-canon Cardassia vignette) “You hated it.”
Stand Beside Me In The Mirror (the creepy alt!Garak one) Being stunned always gave Julian a dry mouth.
Trektober Day #31: Spooky/Supernatural & Trapped Together (Dax & Kira, G, 168 words) "Ghosts aren't real," Jadzia said, although she sounded less certain this time.
Trektober Day #30: Time Loop / Mentors (Dax character study, 158 words) The relationship is recursive by the time Ezri tracks Ben down. A Dax, a Sisko, a mentorship.
Odo's Rounds, chapter 4 (very short snippets of Odo trying to do his job) Quark was leaning on the counter, chin propped in his hands.
Trektober Day #26: Academy Era (Dax & Bashir, G, 210 words) They were already a fair number of drinks in, or she wouldn't have asked.
Imzadi (Riker/Troi, a no dialogue drabble) It's odd, still being able to read someone thoughts so intimately after you've decided to no longer be intimate at all.
If I remember correctly, there's more variation than the last time I tried this, when all my first lines were dialogue. This time round I've got dialogue, description, and even some abstract thinking. I still clearly love a good in medias res, which is hands down the easiest way to write.
I know some of you have already done this but I do not know who off the top of my head! @rusblk? @thoughts-i-have-had-in-passing? @hellostuffedtiger? @philosopherking1887? But as always if you want to, consider yourself tagged and tag me so I can see it!

I was never the biggest Sherlock girlie during the peak of SuperWhoLock Era Tumblr. Just a casual enjoyer of Benedict Cucumbersnatch. In fact, when I finally gave in and watched it (during the wait for S4, probably), I didn't really think it quite lived up to The Hype around it at that time... I'm not really a crime detective girlie... I liked reading some of the meta and such. ANYWAY. All that to say, if you ask me I shrug and agree it's a fine show... But every now and then I see something sherlolly on my dash and I absolutely spiral. Like obsessed lowkey with Molly and Sherlock, even though they probably aren't even in my top 20 ships.
I just forget how absolutely fascinating those two are. Until it blinds me. They really were almost like breadcrumbs in the grand scheme of the show... But if vivisect the show and put the pieces back together, sherlolly can be found everywhere in the textures and patterns. little fingerprints here and there where it makes sense, even if it shouldn't. and some kind of crazy understated chemistry.
That being said, after watching some sherlolly videos, I want to ask the sherlolly stans a question about The Final Problem.... Euros was pretty vague in her reasoning. We know she was just doing research, but her hypothesis wasn't entirely clear... just that she wanted an emotional reaction.
While Euros is studying Sherlock's psyche, she says the impending death, as she understands it, is to be a tragedy... so much unlived life, and words left unsaid. John and Mycroft assume it's for someone who loves Sherlock, and yes they rightfully deduce coffin is meant for Molly... because everyone knows Molly fancies Sherlock. So what if the coffin was originally intended to be meant for someone loved by Sherlock. Someone who would die never knowing he loved her. Someone left alive after she died. Someone who would place that plaque on her coffin after her death... Because Sherlock would never TELL her those words while she was alive.
And Euros wasn't trying to torture Molly in particular.... She was trying to get to her brother... to see how Sherlock responds to emotional context. And she was trying to break him.
I think this is the unspoken interpretation that only Euros and maybe Sherlock really caught. IDK... thoughts?

1. How many works do you have on AO3?
111
2. What’s your total AO3 wordcount?
312,131
3. What fandoms do you write for?
I write a little across a lot of fandoms. The only fandoms for which I have written substantial amounts are Dracula, Greek mythology, and Shakespeare's plays. I have active projects right now in Dracula, Xena, and Penny Dreadful.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Shattered Mirrors (Jonathan in Dracula's castle), Make It Through the Wintertime (Hadestown Persephone character study), To Burn the Castle Down (Jonathan angst), Compromise (Dracula darkest timeline AU), Minor Initiations (different Dracula darkest timeline AU)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I have been trying to get in the habit of it. I think it's nice to express my appreciation and try to be a bit more social about all of it.
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
This is a hard question; so, so many of the things I write are angsty. Specifically as far as endings, I am realizing that an extremely high proportion of my stories end with a character aware that they are about to die or that something else terrible is about to happen to them, and in some way accepting it. This is of course tragedy but I'm not sure it is quite angst.
Outside of this pattern, I think that To Burn the Castle Down is almost over the top angsty (it's not one I like to reread), as is For Every Grief That's Offered (yet another Dracula darkest timeline AU). Both are from ~15 years ago, and I would write them differently now.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Ha. Do I write happy endings? Sometimes I do bittersweet hopefulness, of which I think Fidelity (poly Mina post-canon) and Still in the Realm of the Sun (Code Name Verity Julie/Maddie fix it) lean most heavily on the sweet side. The Caucus-Race (Alice in Wonderland, the Dodo enters politics) is legitimately happy.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not to my face for a long time, at least not in a serious way.
9. Do you write smut? If so what kind?
I do not.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
Not much. Many years ago I did a couple - a Dracula-Greek mythology and a Dracula-Vampire Chronicles, and also a little Nosferatu-Pied Piper of Hamelin which is the only one of those still up.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not to my knowledge.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes - someone translated Foreigners (Aida, Amneris character study) into Mandarin. There might have been another but I don't remember it.
13. Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
No, though I once told @forthegothicheroine I would and then bailed on her, for which I continue to feel some guilt
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
To write, certainly Mina/Dracula/Jonathan. But that's not from an actually shipping it perspective. What I tend to write and what I ship when reading or watching something aren't all that related.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Mood, imagery, psychological interiority, small-scale structure/pace
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Smut, happy endings, writing anything long form
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I wouldn't feel comfortable doing it in a language that I didn't myself know, and the only non-English language I know well enough to do that in is ancient Greek, which I guess I could use somewhere but it hasn't felt necessary. Several installments of Compromise have important scenes of switching between languages so I've thought about it, but keeping all the text in English let me do a particular language-related reveal in this last installment which pleased me.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Either Lord of the Rings or Phantom of the Opera
20. Favourite fic you’ve ever written?
Right now it has to be Compromise as a whole, but this is hard. There are a lot of other things I've written that haven't gotten as much attention as that one but which are very dear to me, but as a series Compromise means so much to me at the moment.
Too tired right now to tag anyone, but please consider yourself tagged if you'd like to do it!
