Random Kirby Headcanon #29

Taranza loves feeling maniacal and clever, but is frankly extremely bad at it.

He’s big on pranks, but his idea of what quantifies as a prank is lame at best. He’ll move all the furniture in Dedede’s throne room three inches to the right or swap Magolor’s sugar out for salt and then laugh about it to himself nonstop for the next week. He is absolutely convinced he is some sort of mastermind.

He likes causing mischief, but is ultimately aware he’s a lackey at heart and craves praise. Sometimes Magolor and Susie will give him relatively mundane ‘evil tasks’ to entertain him. Magolor will be like “Hey, can you see if you can trick Kirby into eating a sponge?” Or Susie will be like ���Taranza, go and scare my employees out of trying to unionize,” and he’ll obey without a moment’s hesitation. In fact, he’ll kind of go about it like the guy from the sickos meme, going “YES. HAHAHA. YES.” all the while rubbing his little hands together with a grin.

He oftentimes leaves messages in spiderweb (Think Charlotte’s Web) at his friends’ homes. This is an especially funny habit because it’s practically a coin toss as to whether the messages are self-care related or plain childish. The sweeter side of him wants to remind his friends to “Drink water” and “Love themselves,” but the side of him that wants to stir shit leaves messages such as “TARANZA WAS HERE” or “FLORALIA RULEZ DREAMLAND DROOLS.”

Sometimes Taranza’s ineptitude helps him, however. Whenever Wave 3 gets caught in the midst of some scheme, people such as Dedede and Meta Knight will instantly get to chastising Magolor and Susie for dragging “Poor, innocent Taranza into their mischief,” even when he’s the one who originally suggested said mischief. He’ll bat his eyes and play along, pretending he’s some sweet, easily influenced softie, all the while looking at them over Dedede’s shoulder like >::3c

He’ll then proceed to brag about ‘getting away with it’ for the next month. Because of course he would. The thing you need to understand about Taranza is he is thoughtful, sad and ultimately kind, yes, but he’s also a little shit in the pettiest way and loves to ego trip.

He does not seem to be aware that these are extremely mild things to get on his high horse over, but whatever. His friends will let him have this. It’s better than him hating himself all the time and/or actually doing something evil.

I am OBSESSED with the story. I never expected a game like this could have so much story and tell it so wonderfully! I lowkey expected just mechs beating the shit out of each other with maybe a bit of vague lore in between. I never expected to absolutely fall in love with every character that showed up.

To think I intended to watch just an hour to test if my motion sickness was still bothering me. And here we are like a good 5hrs into the playthrough video, on the edge of my seat and clutching at my chest with tears in my eyes. Truly the game of ever

sei dni this morning i woke up at 4:23 am. I woke up at this time to go on my phone and complete the chatroom. I then went back to sleep, turning off all of my clock alarms set for that exact time. I was glad that went smoothly. I was then woken up at 6:36 am by an excited Roi telling me to get up as the ministories were going to be out. Okay. I went back to eep. Woke up again. Roi was vibrating. Sicko mode. we dug around my room for that old 20$ steam card and used it, tried to communicate with our dad but eventually got desperate and somehow got the game to work by the power of bullshittery. as roi was not normal and somehow dead on the floor, we went anzu, alice, then finally kai. anzu was gay win. reko was gay win. kai was gay failure. the first line was literally failure. roi couldnt even speak for the next 3 minutes and shut down the game and hid in a conrer while i smiled. like this. and then we went into the game. kai emo. then sei appeared. everything changed. sei beloved. sei amazing. sei awful. sei fucking rio ranger? sei the guy who fucks gender and moms? rio? i couldnt believe it. its the same guy i added to my kinlist years ago, and he was ready to be blorboified. he was just a kid who obviously craved the validation and was going to rival kai but when he started breaking down crying i already liked him but that was it. that vulnerability. that inferiority that cruel need to accept the harsh reality of never being good enough acknowledged something to build a person up and also dead dad -> tirimatsu dad. truly, he has all of the issues. issues. issues. kai nodding and hugging him and them being besties i think theyre like thatone meme cant stand her fake ass did you know that he isnt even bothered by the hello big sister thing hes more bothered by the fact he cant be more superior i just thought that was interesting anyway sei solos he beats you in robeats he gets more maidens, he dealt with the horrors unlike egg lozoer he even killed two people before he died himself he beat kais ass first meeting he listens to hyperpop he e v e n has daddy issues

(honestly the most shocking part of this was seeing people out in the wild think this was where the sickos meme came from? which doesnt even make sense chronologically?? sickos has been around forever!!! and the original comic is so good. i am not deserving of kartoonist kelly's onion comic clout i am just a wrestle blog)

🥺 Is there a certain type of moment or common interaction between your characters that never fails to put you in your feels?

...Okay so like. I tried to think of a better answer, i really did. But the only think I can think of that WHENEVER I write a fight and it starts getting bad (aka GOOD) I start laughing a bit maniacally AS I'm typing. Writing conflict is FUN. writing characters pushed to meanness is FUN!! My earlier stuff was more focused on resolution, but the more I write the more I feel a bit like that meme of the guy going "hahaha, yes!" in the window and he's labeled as "sickos."

🛒 What are some common things you incorporate in your fics? Themes, feels, scenes, imagery, etc.

Well, my most commonly used tags are Unreliable Narrator and Humor, so for sure those things. I think I also tackle loneliness a lot, even though I don't usually spell it out explicitly. A theme that I never really thought about but I'm realizing is in a LOT of my fics is a physical and emotional separation paired with The Yearning. The four most recent fics I have right now are very... divorce-ish? (behold, my writing ability.) So it's two characters who arent in great terms and have a pre-existing agreement that they're not really seeing eachother anymore but they MISS eachother.
