wondering if you've read any fics recently. I read this 40k won that had Eddie being mute cause of an accident and that was stunning that was great and then I read this one called A Date To Remember which I really liked as well.

Hi anon, I most definitely have! Excellent choice on your part to read @rewritetheending's silent!Eddie fic! Since you liked that, you can go and choose literally any of her other fics, they will all leave you breathless. In fact, read them all, would be my suggestion. Might I suggest starting with, for example, never felt this way before (yes i swear) the Dirty Dancing AU, if i told my secrets (if you knew the truth) in which Eddie tells Buck he loves him at the very beginning of the fic and they figure out the rest over the course of it, or turned around backwards (it's so much clearer) in which Eddie wakes up Buck in the middle of the night to take a trip down memory lane, while they're staying a night in El Paso during the crossover episode.

Since I'm not sure if you're looking for something specific, I'll throw out a mix of things I've read recently and eternal classics. So:

take you in and make you mine by @try-set-me-on-fire where they both get a little hurt in a fire and Eddie doesn't know what they're waiting for anymore. (4.5k)

in the night we trust by @glorious-spoon where they start sleeping together while quarantining at Buck's and it still takes them years to realize what it all meant to them. (29.2k)

let the world have its way with you by @shitouttabuck where Buck makes a bucket list to help see the joys in life again, and Eddie and Chris help him cross items off it. (54.5k)

and the light on the water gleams ch.4: sweater weather by @buckactuallys where they wear each others clothes and I completely melted over it. The fic is a collection of prompt fills, so you can read every chapter as a standalone story. (1k)

i don't swim and you're not in love by @hattalove where Ana is starting to take up more space in Eddie's life, and Buck wonders why he feels so miserable about it. Makes me lie on the floor and stare at the ceiling. (32.4k)

keep going, keep going come what may by @fcntasmas where Buck is the last man on Earth and keeps seeing visions of his loved ones talking to him. Maybe that sounds weird but I promise it's worth it, it knocks the breath out of me every time. (10.7k)

Like Any Unloved Thing by @hmslusitania, a noir urban fantasy AU where Eddie is a private detective that gets tasked with finding the missing Evan Buckley. Cannot say enough good things about it! (18.1k)

at the right time by @elisela in which Buck is a teacher and has Chris in one of his classes, but also meets Eddie in completely different circumstances and they start dating. Buck isn't allowed to date his student's parent, though, and there is much delicious yearning once they connect the dots. Happy ending, so no worries there. (24.2k)

just a lil update to say that i'll be moving soon, so over the next 2–3 weeks i'll be quite busy and won't be able to post a lot a lot (not that i usually post that much but i do try!)

it's funny, i've been hearing a lot about blog competition and fighting for notes and monopolising panel show content blah blah in my inbox recently. (i only included one here but there's genuinely been quite a few just in the last couple of weeks.) i don't know what might be going on on other blogs or discords or whatever, and i honestly didn't even know these were still convos people are having; i kinda thought we all agreed that this site isn't as big as it used to be, notes aren't as plentiful as they used to be, but by golly we'll just keep on posting anyways. i don't know if there are edit tags for any panel shows but i don't use them; i just post content here for my current followers and if you guys like it then that's all i wanted to do. i don't care if there are other panel show blogs with more followers or posts that get more notes or better gifs or better blogs or whatever. it's all fine. i don't care. i don't think about it. so you don't have to ask me that stuff — how to grow your blog or get more followers or more engagement, or how i feel about other blogs that post the same content as i do — i won't answer it. just post it because you want to; don't race to be the first one to get stuff at (especially at the expense of making content you're proud of!); don't put other people down; don't send anonymous hate. just be cool and worry about you. if you can't have fun here without validation in the notes then you're gonna be miserable. flopping is integral to being active.

Well. Welcome to Episode 5 of (Waku) Puyo Extras.

...Lemme explain.

So. Thing is, I'm still translating Arle's route, don't worry. It's just with school going on and the sort, I...don't have enough to show for the route right now, so instead of sending the little bit I have, I'll use the filler episode to show off some OTHER findings I have...and my rambles about random Puyo things.

Yeah believe it or not there's always something to learn about Puyo/Madou, and since I'm someone who knows a good bit, I may as well tell some. With that, the usual shall begin.

Ahem.

Welcome to the Witch Specialized (Waku) Puyo Extras.

(The Puyo Manga is literally my best friend at this rate)

Heya everyone, happy super early Halloween because that's this lady's birthday, but since I feel like it, we're posting it now.

Welcome or welcome back to Waku Puyo Extras, the filler series where I translate much, much smaller videos than the things I usually do, while also talking about the wonderful world of Madou and Puyo, giving little facts and knowledge I have of these games.

This episode is about...well. Witch. You may be wondering "Why her?" And to that I say:

Girl has caused me now 4 sleepless nights. I'm sharing this knowledge with you all.

Oh, and I'm impatient for Halloween. That too. But that's besides the point, I felt like making an episode just about her because, well, she's my 3rd favorite character besides Lagnus and Lemres. Plus, while learning about the lore and the games, I've stumbled upon a lot of info about characters, some good and some...well, it's not awful but slightly questionable. This time, this stuff will be centered around all Madou games as a whole, as Puyo is another breed of things.

This'll cover these few things:

Very short video about a refight in Waku Waku Puyo Puyo Dungeon.

Her character portrayal in specific games (Saturn, Tower of the Magician, etc.) I won't be speaking about Puyo games this time around besides maybe for a joke or two. Won't be in chronological order.

...Let's just say crimes against Schezo and occasionally Arle. Consider this an add on to 2. Who knows? Maybe this'll change your opinion on her.

And err...consider this compensation for not bring done with episode 1 of Arle's route. I'm getting it done, don't worry. I just don't have enough to share RN.

HOWEVER. With the help of @kirstenonic05 (Good friend of mines who gave me this recommendation,) they were kind enough to give me a small video to translate.

What they're doing is saving me so much time and effort and I cannot thank them enough. It's only 46 seconds so no timestamps this time. (It's really like 25 seconds.)

Oh, and I'll mention it here, I edited some parts of Witch's wiki on the Puyo Nexus, adding stuff about Madou Saturn and obviously WWPPD.

Ah. 4 lines. My beloved.

So with that outta the way, let's speak about her several incarnations throughout the series.

Where do I even BEGIN?

I guess we'll start with what I believe to be a good starting point: Madou Monogatari; Tower of the Magician.

In this game, you play as Schezo trying to go through a tower for power, which is basically the quickest way to describe the game. However, Witch's trial to get an actual name starts at the same time, but she runs into Schezo and Incubus, and they kinda fight.

Throughout the game, she's a roaming sidekick, usually there to help with puzzles and banter with Schezo. Here...Schezo kinda dotes on Witch like an older brother would, while providing banter and the sort. He'll he even gives answers to Witch's trials just to get further into the tower.

However, near the end, Witch begins to get concerned for her grandmother, and Schezo says she'll be alright.

She was not alright. She got possessed and Schezo fights the final boss. When Wish is brought back to her senses, Schezo says that it was Witch who saved the day, not him. (When it was him.)

Unfortunately, since Witch had outside help, she fails the trials. Sad day.

It's a nice dynamic they had. Plus they show that she cares a lot for her grandma, which I absolutely respect.

Keyword had.

Because besides this game, it kinda goes all over the place. Like Madou Saturn. However, I still like the dynamic later on, it's super funny.

In this game she plays a minor role, like everyone that's not the ARS/Satan/Lagnus. She's kidnapped along with Draco by Incubus, and if you choose to save Witch first, you go to a tourney to save Draco as well. After you beat Kikimora, who was infested with the smoke via the Yogs, Kiki tells you that she saw Schezo (didn't name him though, and he was possessed by Lagnus,) and Witch is IMMEDIATELY interested. Rulue says that he's a massive pervert and...yeah that don't work. She gets more interested.

They finally met Schezo and the first thing she says is that she wants to touch him.

AKA this. Translated it says "...So this is the mega-pervert! Lemme touch him!"

Which I mean, there's worse introductions. After you kick Schezo's ass, he leaves, and Witch is quite sad that he left.

After that, the Trio wins the tourney, which gets interrupted by Jann, and after some shenanigans, beat her and save Draco. After that, Witch leaves the party.

Alright, so a wacky impression in Madou, surely it can't get wackier...

Just like clockwork, Waku Puyo strikes y'all.

Ah, this game. My namesake, basically, the thing that got me to Tumblr and have me listening to the Apollo Justice OST for hours.

I'll say it here: Most of what I know of Witch comes from Schezo's Route. Just a heads up.

But what even goes on in there? Great question, I wished you never asked.

In Schezo's Route, you meet her at the Horror House and she's all vague with him, saying she wants "it" and begins to beg, leaving my poor man Schezo befuddled. Then she clarifies that she wants his clothes, and she'll rip it off if Schezo says no.

Then during the end of the game, Schezo can run into her again. And she's doing the usual, asking basically a cave dweller for his clothes, to which Schezo finally asks why.

Her answer? She wants them, and they're cool. She also throws the heart symbol a lot toward ONLY Schezo.

(Top one is her vaguely saying that Schezo's clothes are still cool, middle one is Schezo saying he's not going to strip, but she was gonna ask for the Meteor Spellbook he had, but the clothes would be nice also.)

Yes. This is how she acts to ONLY Schezo Wegey. I'm pulling out his full government name for that one.

So with that, that most that I know about her-

Nah I'm joking. We gotta talk about Rulue's Spring Break of Fists.

For those unaware, Rulue's Spring Break of Fists was a Disc System game released in 1997, which is more of a "Choose your adventure Visual Novel" sorta deal where Rulue is tasked with getting ingredients for...cooking, not fully sure myself.

What I AM sure of is that Witch is there. And oh boy, does shit get wacky. You enter her house, and Rulue asks for the ingredients she needs, and Witch isn't giving the responses Rulue wants, which she (understandably) gets annoyed at. However, Autism be damned, Witch can cook what Rulue is trying to make, and she'll give the ingredient to Rulue... if she answers her quiz. Yes. A quiz.

Alright, not too bad, right?

Wrong. First question she asks is "What is my bust size?

No. I'm not joking. And since I'm trying to save images, the answers you could've chosen are:

A. 79 • 60 • Unknown

B. 78 • 58 • 81

C. 90 • 61 • 87

(The answer...is B. Which is fucking hilarious because in Madou Saturn it's 81 • 58 • 81, and Saturn came out a year later.)

She then continues to tell us to remember it, and after the quiz... she does give the ingredient, thankfully.

Unfortunately I dunno what she does in Puyolympics or Serilly's Happy Birthday, but I'll learn someday.

With all of this, you may wonder "How is she getting away with asking all of this stuff?"

I'm glad you asked. This little lass has commented some crazy things.

Take, oh IDK, Drugging Arle in the Tottemo Puyo Puyo Manga to make her fall in love with her?

And that...didn't go well because Arle fell in love with almost everyone else but her. Which is IRONIC.

Then wanting to touch Schezo, cooking Incubus so bad with fire that he couldn't move for 3 days (both in Saturn), then...wanting to rob Schezo of his clothes and basically commit public indecency, and asks several times throughout Waku Puyo.

And then in more modern Puyo media, in 20th Anniversary she goes around basically harassing people to get ingredients but they're all subsituted for something else EXCEPT Schezo's hair, in the Puyo Puyo light novels she fake cries to Amitie and almost blows her up with nuisance puyos. And in Puyo Puyo Tetris 2, when she gets possessed by Marle, asking Schezo to submit to her and that she know he wants to, and if he doesn't come to her, she'll come to him. And after she's cured, whatever she does with Marle and Draco, I'm ngl I forgot.

I joke about her being an actual pervert, but you know... maybe the joke isn't a joke anymore. And thus, I shall sentence her to...

With my long talk, I think this marks the end of this episode. When all is said and done, Witch is still one of my favorite Puyo characters, and maybe with this new knowledge (even if some of, no, a lot of it was odd,) you'll like her more...or less. One of the two.

since i know there're people who like to read my opinions on the different seasons, here you have my thoughts on this (HOLY SHIT OMG WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON???????????) season.

akiba meido sensou (7.5/10)

so, i never meant to watch this show. i thought it would be just another CGDCT slice of life where maids do their maid stuff, and they have fun... I WASN'T EXPECTING THIS THO. this series is crazy, like, the first ep starts with a maid being shot in the head like ??????? and then ranko (best girl imo) starts shooting this rival maid group along with a cutsie song like ??????????????? i was both confused and charmed. this anime is such a blast, it's filled with twists and turns, random shit that it's bizarre but it also makes so much sense. i can't fully explain it, you need to watch it.

akuyaku reijou nano de last boss wo kattemimashita (4/10)

dear lord the toxicity here is astronomical. the way i was looking for a hamefura replacement and i ended up getting this... i feel scammed. this was meant to be a fantasy romance story, but it ended up being a contest to see who's the most toxic person in the relationship. between throwing someone out of a flying carriage just to see them cry and almost stabbing someone on the crotch because they want to break off their engagement with you... i don't know who's worse. they totally deserve each other.

blue lock (8.5-8/10)

i cannot decide myself on what rating i should give to it. while i do love bllk and think is one of the best sports series i've ever read, 8-bit's adaptation is... interesting. while i did think the first episode was amazing, the visual level just started dropping. some of the hand-drawn animation looks weird, and the cgi sometimes looks like it has been taken from a mobile game. i have mixed feelings with these series; while it's still fun and interesting, it just doesn't kick me as much in the chest as the manga does. if you wanna start bllk, please read the manga first.

bocchi the rock! (6.5/10)

as i said before, i'm not a big fan of CGDCT, and this series is just that. i was into the music part of the series and bocchi's social phobia (which, as someone who went through it, i think it's a pretty good representation), but it's still not my cup of tea. it bores me at times, and i'm the one to blame. it's not bad, it's just not my thing. if you're into this kinda stuff, i fully recommend it.

boku no hero academia 6 (8/10)

NOW THAT IS A GOOD SEASON. this one's adapting one of (if not the) best arcs in the series and hell yeah i'm hyped. in case someone hasn't started it, i won't spoil anything. i'll just tell you to please not worry about the quality: the art, animation and everything in general is being tretaed with so much thought and love. i'm just so happy to see all of them back!

boku no roboco (4/10)

(at this point, i've only watched two eps. my opinion on the series may change) i know the manga is popular, i know it makes a lot of anime references. i wanted to try giving it a chance and oh lord. first, it's difficult to find. second, it isn't even funny. if i'm not dropping it is because the episodes are short and fuck it. but not because you make a shit tone of anime references means that you're gonna be funny.

AND OH LORD SHE'S LOOKING AMAZING. i've been waiting for this series for so long, (since it first got announced like holy fuck the feels). i have the entire part one on my bookshelf and it brings me so much joy (and tears and trauma and—) to finally see it animated. the animation, the art, the music, the voices— everything is just fantastic, perfect even. the op is a banger and each and every ed is just so good (some better than others imo). i'm so happy mappa were the ones that took the project like omg thanks mappa but fr fr. if i'm not giving it a higher note is because i'm afraid that would be my inner fangirl speaking so yeah. my children look perfect, that's enough for me. and fuck those who complain about the cgi istg—

cool doji danshi (7/10)

just a pretty chill slice of life short series about a bunch of dorks trying to survive in the wild. they're all so relatable and idk what to think about it. babe's also pretty absent-minded, so this is pretty comfy to me... is this how #representation feels like? besides that, there's not much to say about it since it's just... that. they exist, and i'm happy they do.

how many times have i said i don't like CGDCT series? many times, but i still go and watch them. why? because i'm dumb ig. it's just a series about a bunch of girls doing bricolage, that's pretty much it.

second season of "don't get attached to the cast because they're all going to die". at this rate, i think i'm made of stone because i haven't shead a tear in the entire series. i'm also getting use to the show's formula (introduce new character → make you feel attached to them → kill them), so ig that's also why i don't feel that sad anymore? idk, i do feel sad but not that sad yk. anyway, is as good as the first season so you should give it a try.

fuufu ijou, koibito miman. (6.5/10)

i started not liking the series (the male mc was annoying to me and i felt like he would only see the girls by their "personality"), but i ended up getting attached in some sort of way? it's an easy to watch, funny romcom that, even if it's nothing special, will entertain you for the time being.

kage no jitsuryokusha ni naritakute! (5.5/10)

i like the idea, but not the execution. i mean, kinda. it started being a parody of isekai series, but i feel like isekai is slowly but surely eating the show alive. i'm not that interested on the plot and the ecchi scenes and comments are... something. to give you some example: there was this scene where these girls would pose in ways others could check their breasts better and perceive them as bigger than their opponent's. or maybe the many comments they do about the protagonist's dick being a fricking sword????? umm not thank you.

koukyuu no karasu (7/10)

a historical fantasy shoujo series with interesting plot points and a cute romance?? hell yeah, count me in! each and every character is lovable af and trust me when i tell you you'll never get bored. the art is so cute and comfortable (idk how to explain it), and the romance is just... i just want them to date already, am i asking too much? definitely give it a chance.

mairimashita! iruma-kun 3 (8/10)

new iruma season and the first one i'm watching as it's coming out. the children are back and more chaotic than ever in this new arc (the best one yet, from what i heard). i just can't stress enough how this series makes me feel, how comfy it makes me feel. i've connected with the characters in such a way it just makes me smile every time each and every single one of them just appears on the screen. i'm so excited to see who'll win! (no spoilers please)

mob psycho 100 III (8.5/10)

this isn't the last season. no, i refuse to accept it. even though many characters are getting their closures and all this chaos is going on and every wish of them to have a happy life has turned to ash. this is not the end. and that never happened. no. just. leave me alone.

mushikaburi-hime (6/10)

so, they're trying to bring historical shoujos back and while we did get some interesting results (koukuuu no karasu), we also got series like mushikaburi-hime. the series is about a girl who is obssesed with books and a dude that isn't, but because he likes her he's up to deal with that little trait of hers. and... that's pretty much it. the series revolves around their relationship (which sometimes turns a bit toxic due to the male mc). the female mc hasn't progressed in over ten episodes, she won't progress now. if you're interested, there it is. but it's not a series i would recommend.

renai flops (7/10)

i said it before: i love shitshows. this one seemed to be a parody on ecchi, harem series which caught my eye. i mean, the first ep involves the dog scene which is one of the most bizarre scenes i've seen on any romcom. at first, i was gonna watch it for the laughs from how bad it all was, but then the second half happened and it changed my view on the series. from a parody that makes things absurd on purpose to something else. i would recommend anyone who's interested to watch it and please, do not spoil yourself.

shinobi no itokki (4/10)

this show is about a dude who goes to high school and he gets confessed to by a girl he doesn't know. only that it wasn't a confession but a trap, because that girl was a ninja and was trying to kidnap him. but he's able to runaway because he has all these ninja abilities that his mother forced him to learn and never questioned why. and then his mum tell him they're actually ninjas and now he has to go to this ninja school that's literally a high school building in the middle of nowhere like ????? i thought ninjas were discreet???? except no one cares about the school because then someone (don't ask, don't remember) gets betrayed and blames the dude's clan and shit happens and wth is going on????

spy x family part 2 (8.5/10)

part two of this very wholesome but also very fake family! their shenanigans are as crazy as they were in part one, and we got introduced to our queen, fiona. also, the main fake couple are growing closer due to the mission and i think that's pretty cool now get married for real this time.

tensei shitara ken deshita (6/10)

just your average isekai with better than average animation and a wholesome bond between both leads. besides that, i have no much to say about it. i absolutely adore fran and amanda, but the whole idea of fran being op almost from the start is frustrating. i wanna see her grow, but this left me kinda cold.

urusei yatsura (6.5/10)

many people were hyping this show, and i do understand why. after all, it's pretty rough fighting against nostalgia. still, even though the visuals are so cute and the op and ed are pretty good, it just shows the series it's an old one. the comedy falls flat at times along with some characters, although it's still enjoyable. i don't know if i'll keep on watching the second season, but for now i don't feel like dropping it.

uzaki-chan wa asobitai! ω (6/10)

so, uzaki is back. the first season has never been one of my favorites, but i decided to give the second season a try and watch it as it was coming out and... well, it's uzaki. for some of y'all it may be hilarious, but to me it's just fine. it's boring most of the time, although i do like the idea of the mcs dating (please do so for fuck's sake). if you're into this kind of comedy, you should give it a try.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

okay so, i can't be the only person who assumed that this episode reminded me of taz amnesty a Lot. maybe i've just been listening to the mcelroys too much lately but the 2d6 thing reminded me a Lot of the motw ttrpg. the dice reminded me a lot about the success of your rolls compared to how it translates in motw. like 2-6 is a hard fail, 7-9 is a mixed success, and 10+ is a full success. it could be a coincidence though. what's also a coincidence is the dice. i've mentioned it already, but the phenomenon of something altering fate that makes good/bad luck occur is so similar to one mini-arc of amnesty where a giant cottonwood tree was literally altering the course of fate with its cottonwood seeds to make bad things happen (accidents, that sort of thing. the mention of how the one guy died in this episode - being hit by a truck and being the only one to die because someone fell asleep at the wheel - reminded me a lot of similar "accidents" during that particular mini-arc).

also, i find alice's reaction to sam's (potential) crush on celia in this episode to be very telling. i don't actually think she's going to Kill celia, just to get that out of the way. but i think she does miss being with sam. maybe that's why she was acting like sam had a massive crush on celia when she was first introduced. i could be wrong though! maybe she's still trying to process her feelings but due to her nature of passing basically everything off as a joke it's being shoved to the side for her to deal with Later. the very classic "this is probably something i have to process but i'll push this aside for future me to deal with". that's not to say that alice and sam aren't good friends! i'm very glad that we have healthy examples of people who have broken up but still remain friends. you don't get that a lot.

also TEDDY!!!!!!! i'm so glad he's returned. i was worried for a moment that he was just not going to come back but i'm very glad to see he's still around. i started to sweat a bit when he mentioned that he already got fired from his last job but i was very relieved when he got a new job interview. stay out of the OIAR teddy.

also i find it very convenient how the moment sam admitted that he is saddened by the dead ends for the magnus institute, another case pops up with a reading on artifact storage with a pair of dice that apparently change your fate and bring you good luck/bad luck depending on how you rolled. And it's read by chester no less. i can't tell if chester is trying to bring sam further into this, or is cryptically trying to tell sam to stay away but sam just Isn't Listening.

going back to the pair of dice, i think it's interesting how the person writing the report for spooky dice stressed that he did not feel compelled to roll the dice in any way, nor did it feel like he was being possessed. he just Willingly did so. and so did everyone who rolled those dice. even the one man who tried to give them away couldn't resist rolling the dice one last time before getting snake eyes. this almost reminds me of gambling addictions, where while you technically Can stop at any time and it doesn't hurt you to (aside from i guess the consequences you already have), you feel the want to keep rolling. you wanna see what happens. you want that rush that you get when you roll high. that's a bit superficial though so i won't say that's the "true meaning" of the statement. i also must point out that this isn't exactly how any prior fears have acted. you could say "this falls under x, y, z, and b fears", but that kinda defeats the point. guy has spooky dice; things go wrong. also i find it laughable that the guy just goes full cartoon villain and dresses for the part of "guy who gives you dice and you roll them and Something Happens To You". sad that he died right at the end.

i like this episode a lot actually! i have to say this is probably my favorite one, genuinely. love the idea of spooky dice that make your life a literal ttrpg. i can't wait for episode ten where "alice and sam go to a place and do a thing". that's gonna be a special episode since that day's pi day! see you soon!

Screaming at Kuina that she's his goal, so talking down about herself is disrespectful not only to her, but to him and his training and his 2000 lost bouts? I have so many feelings guys

And then they get no time together. She's dead the next day of totally natural causes (at least I think it is, based on what I've seen) and its fucking unfair. I'm glad Zoro has Luffy as a friend now, bc he deserves someone who he knows won't die on him

I'm 100% certain that Usopp returns to Kaya after they find the One Piece. It means everything to me

I'm getting ahead a little of myself but I don't really get Nami being upset about Luffy not telling her about Garp. Like, I'm p sure we all know that Luffy has no idea that's important information. He wasn't actually keeping a secret - that would imply he has some kind of interior self that he's keeping hidden, and we know that's not true. She's just getting butthurt bc it hits close to home

One my favourite arcs is about to begin! I'll never think of eggs in the same way again.

Episode 4 (Winter cabin, 1st door / Birthday party, 2nd door)

Giving your partner a key (Meaningful): Nanzhu's SECOND attempt to give this key to Qiushi succeeds. "It's still yours", he says, smiling fondly. I CANNOT with the gifting. The key gives the player an advantage in the next door; Nanzhu is trying to keep Qiushi alive. Nanzhu/Baijie cares a lot about this stranger, when he seems to disregard all the other door-breakers (I like this translation).

Reluctant parting: A beautiful shot of Qiushi lingering at the door, looking wistfully at Nanzhu. Again Nanzhu's little smile, which seems to be reserved for Qiushi. And all that LIGHT. Am I sensing foreshadowing?

Calling your partner's name when lost in thought: Lin Qiushi, who doesn't do subtle. Nice to see Nanzhu isn't the only one affected.

Noodles of love: Qiushi casually makes himself at home and cooks for Nanzhu (and only him). Later, when discussing Qiushi's potential, Nanzhu keeps staring at the noodles and fondling the chopsticks. "Intuition" tells him he wants a man who feeds him!

I'll accompany you (anywhere): Qiushi feels apprehensive about his 2nd door. Nanzhu: "Don't worry. I'll pass this door with you." Qiushi: "We can pass it together?" Nanzhu: "Of course", comparing them to the pair from the 1st door. More parallels to this m/f couple!

Complimenting your partner (Nanzhu edition): Qiushi: "Am I so good?" Nanzhu: "Not you, but me. Because I can see your value." Has he realized Qiushi can't accept direct compliments? Smart. Nanzhu, please keep telling him he's precious.

Meeting your partner's other persona: Second door time, and it's ZHU MENG! I love him to bits starting from that little, teasing wave. He's so dynamic and clearly different from Nanzhu or Baijie.

Non-verbal communication: Qiushi is about to say his real name, when he sees Nanzhu's FACE and immediately changes to Yu Linlin. Aw.

Scheming to be alone with your partner: Nanzu maneuvers them into the elevator by scaring everyone off. Smooth going. Drama sprite Nanzhu is at it again.

Complimenting your partner: You just got into that elevator to flirt, right? Nanzhu's client is an actress. Qiushi (oblivious): "You're a good actor, too. I think you two are a perfect match." Nanzhu (shakes head, fond/exasperated): "Her acting is not as good as yours."

I can't say it was my favorite news, and that it didn't make me jealous, but I still have understanding for the situation, and I get how things can run off the tracks and things can just happen, specially when there's alcohol involved…. he sighed soft…. not happy about the drugs, I gotta be honest, I wish you wouldn't. I'm scared I'm the one who will end up losing you…. that way.

Dalton: He bit his bottom lip and snuggled himself tighter against Adrian

Adrian: I'm terrified, as a matter of fact.

Dalton: I wont do it again! It's stupid and just an old dumb fucking hole I sometimes fall in. I'm not addicted he sighed soft

Adrian: No I get that. But that doesn't mean you couldn't be unlucky and get the wrong pill or wrong doze.

Dalton: He nodded soft

Adrian: I hate talking about it, it makes my skin crawl. So let's he sighed soft let's leave it at that, I'm not here to school you. I have made it clear how I feel about it, and I would very much prefer if you don't do it again. But I also understand it sorta comes with the lifestyle you have chosen… well, not necessary, but it often does…and I'm in general trying to make space for your freedom… even when all I most want is to hug you tight and keep you for myself.

Dalton: He chuckled soft and looked up at Adrian, both surprised and humbled that Adrian would feel that way about him. Thank you

Adrian: For what? he smiled soft

Dalton: For thinking that way about me, I suppose?

Adrian: He sighed soft and shook his head gently You have no idea how special you are? Do you?

JK! I personally feel like if they were attractive in their youth, they most likely will be when they're older. I mean, come on. Look at Billy's bone structure, his lips, his nose, his eyes. That man could never apply moisturizer and he'd STILL look good.

Like Idk any teen boy worrying about his skincare routine especially in the 90s. Honestly I think sometimes we care too much and are too vain with the aging process now. I try to prevent it but if I get wrinkles in my 30s, I get wrinkles in my 30s! But we can't really judge him based on what we see of him as a teen. God knows teen me in 2010 was worshipping the sun and scrubbing my face daily with St Ives....Now I were retinal and rosehip oil everynight at 25. Things change!

And listen, most aging is genetic whether we like it or not. Looking at your parents is a good indicator. We don't know Stu's parents but Billy's Mom still looked pretty damn young for a 45- 50 yr old woman idk about Hank but I think Billy's character looked more like his Mom anyways (My hc atleast. )

As for in my story with him smoking; yeah it might age him if he don't quit. Idk some genetics are powerful af bc my Dad smoked 4 packs a day for 15 years and didn't get his first wrinkles until he was in his 40s. So I think he'll age well but he's 'rougher' than Skeet would be probably.

I was going to keep it under wraps but fuck it! This is my face claim for Billy and Stu in 2022. I'm going based off of Skeet and Matthew being in their early 40s since that's the age they're supposed to be in Scream 5 if they lived. And bc I think we age ppl way too much anyways and wanted them to look like 40 years not 50. That ten year time gap makes a difference around that age anyways.

So here they are 25 years after 1996! Honestly Skeets character in CSI is perfect if it wasn't for the burn marks later on the character gets bc sadly thats not in my fic but in my head 42 year old Billy would look like this:

Not stylish or clean cut. 25 years later and he just throws on whatever and has his hair in his fucking face still....But Riverdale, even tho Skeets closer to his 50s, is probably a better especially in the few times Skeet doesn't have as much scruff and his hair is lighter. (But eh, maybe Billy's vain and dyes his hair to cover the grey and its a shade or two darker than his natural color) Either one! Only difference is a bit more stubble and sweeping his hair back anyways 🤷🏻‍♀️ He could easily look like both version within a week of just not shaving and him smoothing his hair back with gel. Skeet aged EXTREMELY well and Billy is going to as well cause I said so 😌

And Matthew from Pool Boys or those Criminal Mind and House episodes is what I imagine Stu would look like in his 40s.

I'll tell you, they didn't play in as much from like 2007 to 2017 so it's hard to find them in their 40s!!

(Also; It's my hc Stu needs glasses and refuses to wear bifocals bc "HEs nOt olD!" and he dyes his hair regular all kinds of colors bc I mean look at him in SS and TT so he probably would dye it darker to blend in bc everyone knows Stu's blonde)

Stu is probably going to refuse to wear polos and dress shirts and still dress like he's a teen in his 40s.

As for in their 30s. They're gonna look pretty similar to what they do in TT just different hair bc they gotta hide still.

Thoughts on the LOM Anime! Episode 5: Looking Glass Tower (and yay Shiloh doesn't get beat up!)

They sure did the Looking Glass Tower for episode 5! Oh, and even a little bit of Mine Your Own Business, how neat (I mentioned Watts Drops the Hammer in my previous speculation post, but Mine Your Own Business is the right quest!)

The episode begins with absolute champ Serafina carrying Shiloh home, and there's a very sweet sequence and her, Bud and Lisa making sure to care for Shiloh. It apparently took 3 days for the poor guy to recover, he sure was badly beat up...goes to show, Sandra really is a dangerous adversary.

Serafina is an absolute sweetheart for doing what she did, though I wonder why she left before Shiloh woke up? I really feel like they're trying to build something up with her, but I can't guess at what it is yet.

They do build a good continuity with the episodes so far! Since Shiloh broke his sword in the fight against Sandra in Episode 4, he has to repair it, and he has to go see Watts for it, which is why he and Pokiehl are in this episode. We don't actually get to see Mine Your Own Business play out, just that Pokiehl is chilling with Watts in the mines. He's perfect, and I love my funny bird man. I swear I've heard his voice somewhere and checked the VA, but I don't think I've seen any other roles of his that are significant to me.

Anyway, Watts needs mythril to make the broken sword better and guess where Shiloh has to find it? The Tower of Leires! How convenient that is where The Looking Glass Tower quest happens, but it's a fairly smooth transition. Anyway. Shiloh gets a temporary sword with a light element and off he goes (leaving Bud and Lisa again, geez, what a negligent dad :b)

So of course Shiloh runs into Pearl and the rest of the episode is the events of the Looking Glass Tower, helping Pearl climb up to the Room of Fate. And boy, Pearl's ability to disappear is as good as Zoro from One Piece! But at least she isn't being completely lost, she actually found the right way up to the Room of Fate.

It's a cool detail to me because if you did what Shiloh was doing (climbing up the tower the seemingly straightforward way) you will get stuck at the Tower of Leires's 7th floor, I think? The right way to get to the Room of Fate is to climb up the stairs on the other side. I don't exactly have the layout of this dungeon memorized, but I do remember the game tries to trick you with its setup.

Anyway, once they get to the Room of Fate, Shiloh is challenged by the Iron Centaur, which happens outside the room and not in it as what happens in the game. Thank goodness Shiloh wins this time, I've been a bit worried for the guy, he's been getting knocked out left and right. Oh, and about the Iron Centaur...I immediately knew I heard his voice, turns out he's the same VA as Hassan of the Cursed Arm in the F/GO Camelot movie. I thought he was the same VA as First Hassan, but it was still a Hassan nonetheless, so I'm half-right. I just...man I can't escape from F/GO VAs here. I'm not complaining though, I just find it funny.

Anyway, he and Pearl get inside the room and find an illusion of Blackpearl. Unlike in the game, she actually talks here, but only cryptically advises Pearl to remember her role before disappearing. Elazul comes in soon after, and then Shiloh tells them about Sandra offscreen.

The episode ends with Shiloh joining Elazul and Pearl! We get to see another Elazul smile, too. So different from how it is in the game, Elazul is a bit cold in that quest and leaves Pearl fearful for herself, but to be fair to both, Elazul must have been super stressed with Pearl gone and Pearl's fears must have been exacerbated by what she saw in the Room of Fate.

So even if it's a bit odd seeing how willing to be friendly Elazul is in the anime, it's nice knowing he and Shiloh are becoming great buds. And they're heading next to Geo -

Geo. Jumi. Oh no. That means...the Lucky Clover. And that means...Esmeralda.

Gaaaaahhh I don't know if my heart is ready to see my cinnamon roll and what happens to her!!! I'll be nervous for next episode...

Oh, and minor nitpick, but there were some odd face close ups in this episode. I'm picking up on it because the art has been great throughout the series so far, but this time were at least three moments when Shiloh and Pearl's face look a bit weird. Not bad as to be ugly or anything, and I'm definitely not going to trash on the animators! Everything has been looking good so far, so the face close ups just looked a bit off the current quality. But, to compensate, there are really nice frames of Shiloh in this episode, too, and the artifact looked especially beautiful.

Episode 7 Thoughts & Reactions

Okay, I'm typing this out on my phone so let's see how much my thumbs can handle. I just needed to get everything on my mind OFF my mind and into words, so if you actually read thru this entire mess, goddamn you're patient 🤣🤣 (also, I've never had a Tumblr in my life. Don't really know how to use it, but I needed SOMEWHERE to post this beast, & hopefully have a convo with someone).

First off, I'm gonna start with the KP scenes. I think this episode woukd have worked well without the side story, which just speaks to how well written this show is (tho I am BEYOND grateful we got that story. It was a much needed reprieve from drama and pining). First hospital scene, Kinn asking Porsche for a hug: we're seeing him allow himself to be vulnerable for the first time ever. If him kissing Porsche in EP 4 was a Crack in his armor, there's a whole ass crevice in it now. Then, Porsche & Kinn pushing each other's buttons when Kinn asks if Porsche enjoyed the beer Vegas gave. Porsche realized Kinns jealousy streak, & boy did he exploit it. At times it was cute, & other times I might have been worried for Porsches life (right before that steamy ending lolz).

Then my FAV scene on the balcony @ the minor family house. Did yall see how Porsche was seeking out encouragement from Kinn? UGH. & for a second I thought Kinn was really going to be an asshole & just let the night end by hanging up on P, but NO!!! my man's escaped the hospital to give Porsche his lucky gun. I can see that Kinn--despite his suspicious nature & being burned by a past lover--is really trying here. He meant it when he said he doesn't want to be like his old self, but old selves are hard to grow from & cast out when they're so ingrained into every aspect of our lives (& encouraged by all aspects of our lives, except for the ONE aspect u want to change your old self FOR). The dirty talk is dirty talk, & I won't dwell on it much, but in the middle of the conversation, how u can see Kinns face shift 180 degrees from playful and flirty (and horny) to utterly concerned, maybe even afraid? ughhhh Mile did so well. You can tell Kinn is effing SCARED of his feelings, scared of Porsche (or at least of giving Porsche the power to hurt him like Tawan did. I still don't think we've gotten a semblance of the truth about that particular relationship, but until ep. 8 I guess...).

& then the bathroom scene. Ah, Vegas, Vegas, Vegas. Idk who u think u are, but clearly you've tried this shit with Kinn once. Did you really think you'd have your way again? Now, I know he was thinking Porsche is drunk, but I don't think Porsche really was. I mean, up at the party Vegas was coming on pretty strong, & Porsche looked wary of him then, shifting to look behind him, acting kinda distant, maybe uncomfortable. But then if he's faking bring drunk, it makes me wonder what his motive was. Because even with Vegas taking his shirt off & coming onto him & stuff, there was a moment where Porsche looked sober as hell, with the way he was uncomfortable, & then proceeded to push Vegas off him. Maybe he's getting suspicious of Vegas being the mole because Vegas is just acting shady enough? Knowing Porsches dream, always showing up when it's oh-so convenient to lend a hand or a shoulder. Yeah, I think I'll stick to that theory until I'm proven wrong. Plus, Kinns outraged "DO YOU SEE THE RING ON MY FINGER?" in other words, "There's only room for one alpha male in this house, & that's ME!" So sexy. So, so sexy.

Now, unto Vegas. Oof, that man is the definition of psychopath. Bible freaking shined this episode. The dead look in his eyes when he was torturing, the pleased smirk when he consistently came out on top, the gun exchange bt. him & Porsche (so freaking hot btw). & then the purely rageful way his gun shook when he wanted so badly to shoot Kinn, the petulant way he knocked Kinns hand down and stormed out. We're really seeing a guy who's always been "second" to his cousin & who so badly just wants all the goods for himself. The lover, the praise, the power, the attention. I feel bad for him in a way, having to fight for a position Kinn isn't so keen on anyway, always coming up second best because Kinn is the family's golden child, the heir. I get why he is the way he is, what with the unhealthy competition there, coupled with the violent life he's been raised in.

Now, our third couple: KimChay. Ahh, Kim, no matter how hard you look, you're not gonna catch any dirt on our inmocent little Chay. In some ways this budding relationship kind of weirds me out--kim is a man, Chay is more like a child. Not talking about the real life age difference, we have to look past that when it comes to the reality of the show. But I mean in their characterization & personalities, in their maturity. I see Kim slowly but surely falling for Chay, who is possibly the most innocent person Kim has ever come across in his existence.

I've said this before somewhere else, but despite Kim coming off as the shady character he has been, i think he's right for questioning his father's motives in wanting to hire Porsche so badly: we should be asking ourselves that question as well. With time, I think we'll see what Korn's motivations are, but I'll leave that for another time. At this point they're giving us heavy one liners from Korn that hint at things, but nothing too solid enough to grasp. I have theories, but again, I'll save those for another episode.

Anyway, Kim. I see him falling for Chay the more he learns Chay is not a threat, but I have a feeling by the time Kim confronts his feelings for him Chay will have found out that this entire relationship began because he was simply a pawn in Kim's agenda. What that agenda is, I'll say here: I think Kim, suspicious of his fsthers insistence in hiring Porsche--who does not fit the bill for the fams usual expectations of their bodyguards--is digging into Porsche to understand why Korn rooted for this man so hard. Why is Porsche being treated differently by their mafia leader father? Though Kim is painted as the shady one, I think he's just trying to protect his family, or at least look out for them from the distance he's put between him and them. He loves them, just doesn't want to be a part of their world. I'm gonna say something that kinda sounds like reaching considering we don't know much about Kim just yet, but I feel like Kim will be the surprise hero at the end of the series. If not hero, then at least the bearer of answers for some questions we still have.

I feel like I'm not saying everything I want to say, but all this to say (hehe) that these actors are doing a freaking phenomenal job at their roles. Keep in mind I've never read the books, I don't know what changes have been made in the plot, tho I've seen a lot of people say we're separated from the book now. So looking at the show as what it is, it's amazing. The emotion, the rawness, the realism, the comedy, the humanity, the moral ambiguity, all of it. So well done, written, & performed.

This thing is getting super long, but I'll end with what I hope to see in EP8: the infamous pool scene (only because Mile hinted it'll appear in either 8 or 9), Porsche being the jealous one for once thanks to Tawan's rise from the dead. I hope they don't bother us with Tawan too much; he's already causing enough trouble for our main couple without having appeared on screen once, & we already know how Kinn feels about him. But I hope to see Porsche return the same kind of need for Kinn as Kinn needs for him. I definitely don't want to see Kinn questioning his feelings for Porsche or using Tawan as a way to hurt him. I believe in Kinn & have faith that whatever Tawan wants, Kinn has been hurt enough by him in the past not to fall for any trickery, but then again we don't necessary know on what terms he & Tawan broke up (tho a small part of me thinks it's the same kind of situation as Kinn telling the world Porsche died so he can go back to his normal life). Sigh. This plot point kind of worries be, but I have more faith in the writers than I do Kinn (lollll), so I know whatever we get is going to be good.

Alright. That's pretty much all I have to say. Again, if you read thru all this, kudos👏🏼 I'd love to have lengthy convos with yall about everything since I can't really talk about the show with anyone in my life, but for now at least I have the space to write it out. Until next time, cheers!

I will be right there with you, loving and hating the month long break even though all logic points to me knowing it's a better idea for the numbers overall. The best would be weekly of course but the selfish side me of would probably scream, ha.

I don't watch enough of anything to lost track of it but I can't imagine how my brain would try to keep up with it all. Kudos to you for figuring out a system that works for you.

Oh to lose a story with a cliffhanger, I've been burned a few times on that one. There's a show I used to watch that actually made an alternative ending with a conclusion on the off chance it got canceled before the next season. This being handled all in one season then anything after that will just be happy extras is more than good enough for me.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of theories for the carriage/LW thing and I think a lot of people have forgotten that some of this stuff is speculation and not spoilers. I do not know what could make him run after her (and I am eagerly waiting to find out!) but knowing the carriage scene both happens at the end of 4 and seemingly has a confession (according to LN) I am all eyes and ears, ha. I'm not invested in any one theory myself though I know there's a lot of people who have decided how that scene is going to go and I hope it hasn't become so fanon that it's canon to them and anything less will disappoint them at this point.

Which was a long way to agree with you, ha, but I agree, he's too smart and he really listens to her when she speaks. If he's actively reading LW now there's a very good chance he could put it together. Maybe he sees her somewhere doing LW stuff, we just don't know and honestly it's going to be a ride finding out I think. I don't know what Lord Kenebling says to her that makes her make that face but if he's watching her in that moment, he's bound to see it and react to it quickly.

The heir plot! It's both a convenient way, if they wanted, to keep the Polin importance to the Featherington plot going forward or a good way for Polin to nope out and run off after they get married and deal with the LW stuff, ha. I don't know if she will say yes or no after the carriage scene tbh but I can see it either way. With them having an entirely different plot they deal with after being married/engaged in the book I can see them building up the LW for Colin in the first half then focusing on that with them together in the second since they would have so much plot left after the engagement (the engagement ball/aftermath of that, the blackmail from the book possibly? the wedding, the queen, etc) and those plots were very important in their story.

I still have no idea but the rabbit holes can be fun! I'm much more of an Occam's Razor sort of theorizer I'll admit so if LN says Colin will be the worst reaction I don't think he will do these horrible things to Pen that I've seen tossed around, I just go to he'll be the angriest and most worried for her. If that's true, I have no idea, but with the way show Pen is so impulsive and book Pen is so stubborn, that man is bound to lose his mind in the second half, haha.

I honestly am starting to prefer going back to the weekly format because it’s more enjoyable to me getting a weekly rush of enjoyment and then a week of anticipation of what to look forward to. And then I have a good 8 to 10 weeks of enjoyment waiting for things to happen rather than months of anticipation and then a day of everything hitting me all at once and then its just all over and I’m overwhelmed with emotion.

Ok so I followed the same breadcrumbs as you did. I got the LN comment too in his one-word comment to Carriage being confession and I was like oooh LW. And then I saw the interview about episode 5 having a huge family gathering scene with the entire cast. And I was like…oooh hmmmmmm engagement …. announcement…omg what is this????

Back to speculation…In those bread crumb trails NC’s one word comment for Carriage was Rocking. So confession and then rocking….so I’m still on the notion myself that he finds out about LW and then they get to knocking. That’s my own spec and definitely not based in anything in fact other than a game the actors played lol. And then my brain just sort of followed down that rabbit hole. I am not married to anything at this point but just following my own brain from the comments made in interviews.

My personal hope is that Lord Obi Wan telling her she looks beautiful while feels good to her, is also off to her compared to perhaps another person having told her his feelings possibly earlier in an episode or perchance during a kiss or some other moment between them earlier in the episode that now has both of them reeling. Though I have a feeling honestly that this being the Queens ball, and the offer for LW’s identity coming up, that suddenly love might not be on her mind, it may be more around protecting her identity is actually more important to her at this moment.

Pen may be running off when he finds her to escape the Queen and the ever-tightening noose of being caught. The confession may be two-fold, his at finding out she is LW and hers at finding out that he has feelings for her. Oh, the swoon factor at these possibilities. I love speculating and thinking of what could get my mind going because I just love how many ways they could take this carriage ride. Anger, shock, passion!

Yeah, I don’t know how much I want this heir plot. LOL I mean it is a way to keep them relevant but I don’t know where they are going with it. I was more like huh, when I read it. I have to admit that I will be sad to lose LW after this season as I love hearing Julie Andrews open the show. It’s so Gossip Girl and it ties the whole show together. So, I selfishly want them to keep it going some way, whether someone else takes up the mantel or she keeps it going somehow or whatever, but I hate to see it gone.

LN and NC seem so pleased with how the show is and the ramp up of the romance this season and I think they know the best so I’m going to trust them and not myself who knows absolutely nothing except what my brain has read and speculated on lol. I may not love everything but once the whole show has aired, I will sit back and breathe and take it all in again as a whole and reflect. I’m sure I will love it for the story they give us.
