I was talking to my dad yesterday about fallout new Vegas for around an hour straight, and mentioned I was planning on playing fallout four sometime, cause my copy of fallout sometimes gets a glitch for an hour that just resolves itself later, and he, while playing fallout four, basically BEGGED me not to play fallout four LMAO

it's so funny to me cause he bought me fo3, fnv, and fo4 and I started on nv and I'm apparently making him want to start nv again every time I ramble about it because he, quote, "would not be playing it [fo4] if there weren't mods"

probably still gonna try it eventually, but I doubt I'll love it as much as I love new Vegas (partly just cause I reallllyy love new vegas. also hi to my sister who followed me for some reason. why did you do that? now you just get sick of me talking about fnv in real life and online/lh)

but new vegas's level of detail is insane to me. all the little character interactions. like, a large majority of the groups/types of NPCs who aren't currently hostile have custom dialogue for when you aim your sights on them. I wouldve never thought that there'd be stuff for that. for scientific reasons, y'all should put a gun to y'all's companion's heads LMAOO. but there's seriously so much fucking detail. like, you can just absolutely fucking fail a stat check and still try to say it and you'll just say it like a fuckin loser. there's so much to explore, like the other day I found the mountainy area with the super mutants on accident. I saw there was an area on the map without any places id discovered, and I was like "y'know what? lemme go check that out." and when I saw TREES for the first time, I was absolutely thrilled. the storytelling in the locations is awesome (and occasionally very heartbreaking) too. gonna put this under a read more line cause it's spoilery for some lore, some of it is sad, and also this post is already long

for example, this is like a stupid one, but apparently the entire H & H tool company was FUCKING. if you read through the terminals, you not only get perhaps one of my favorite lines ever, which is

but you also see multiple people making emails that say something along the lines of "I told X I needed to do something. bring the moon rocks and dino head grabber ;)" (not an actual quote, but the objects are just as ridiculous)

this is probably the saddest/most disturbing one, but there's a vault that was overrun by spores that infected the residents, vault 22. I was finally getting somewhere, and I found a room with a key card in it. yay!

it was a bedroom. there was a baby carriage in the room. there were two spore carriers (essentially plant zombies) which I killed, then kept looking through the stuff in the room. there was a type of spore person I hadn't seen before that jumped out of me. it was called a runt. IT WAS THE FUCKING KID. after I killed it I just spent 7 minutes or so just staring at my screen cause. what the hell.

the empty houses are so haunting to me too. like all the different junk items strewn around tell a story if that makes sense. like, toy boxes, or houses with absolute loads of empty alcohol bottles in them. it's weirdly haunting.

nipton is also such a haunting location, obviously with the crucifixions and all. going into the houses and figuring out the legion bombed the fuckin bodies was so horrifying and interesting. according to my dad, they do stuff like that in real life in wars sometimes.

Okay, you know this is serious because Razz is actually using capital letters /lh. But seriously, I hate being a dick on here, but the genuine lack of etiquette and kindness towards fic writers has been getting on my nerves for years, and my annoyance has hit another peak. Rather than going off on the people who sent me the specific messages that triggered this, I’m just going to delete the asks and make this post instead.

If you want to send a writer a prompt, please, I’m like actually begging, take a minute to read their information. My pinned post has a link to my carrd, is that not clear enough or easily accessible? /gen like if it isn’t easy I will find a new solution, I want this to be mutually beneficial. I get less asks that make me want to rip my hair out, you don’t get snarky replies to your prompts, LOL.

Some writers have a pinned post, a link to a fandoms list, a carrd, etc...Is it actually that complicated to just check that someone likes the fandom you are asking for before you send them a prompt? I received an ask asking for a fic between two characters that I have never even heard of before, and I still can’t figure out what the source material is. I cannot write for fandoms I’m not familiar with, and I will not write for fandoms I don’t specifically list as something I’m comfortable writing.

Also, maybe I should put my fandoms list and boundaries on the same page? Because the amount of people that still ask for things that I have stated multiple times make me uncomfortable (parent/child tickling, bellybutton-focused stuff, “cheer-up” tickling, etc) is honestly insane, like I’m not sure if my boundaries aren’t clear enough or if people just don’t care.

It’s really discouraging to open my inbox and see it full of people who have no respect or regard for my rules. And oftentimes it will be followed by “I love you/your blog/fics” and, I’m sorry if this is mean, but I don’t believe the compliments when they are coming from someone who can’t even be bothered to check if I’ve watched a TV show or not.

Of course, whether or not I write something is not going to depend 100% on the fact that you ask for a pairing that I like or that you’re polite, but if you’re rude or ask me for a fandom I’m not familiar with, I’m not even going to publish those asks anymore, I’m just deleting them because I don’t want to argue with people. Plus, this isn’t just a writer’s issue, I see it happen to artists, too.

If there is anything that I can do to make my fandoms, rules, boundaries. etc. more clear and accessible, PLEASE let me know /gen. It is so discouraging and irritating for me and I’m sure that people who are innocently just making a mistake feel upset when I get frustrated with them, and I don’t want that to happen at all. I want this to be a fun, safe space for all of us, and a place where we can share ideas and be creative. I just think we could use a little more cooperation and kindness when it comes to interacting with content creators.

Backstory

Wordgirl was from the planet Lexicon, known for their knowledge on words and vocabulary. Due to unknown circumstances, she arrived on earth and became its renowned super-heroine within Fair City; though it quickly became apparent Wordgirl began her hero career from a young age and while she was still a child (and no one thought it was weird but shhh-).

Several years have passed since her original debut and is now rumored to at least be in high school, though whether she attends it is anyone's best guess. Wordgirl fights alongside her sidekick Captain Huggyface. The duo continue dealing with the city's crime activity, though perhaps... Wordgirl is starting to face new feelings in her life - among other things.

Keep in mind this blog is post-canon as I mentioned previously and is part of a future AU of my own design. I've made changes to her costume, but I do not have the art skills to do so - and well, we'll see what can be managed.

I'll see about creating a board or something where I can display her new costume change, but for now this is the best I'll be able to do!

YES EXACTLY like Chandrelle sucks as a person i will happily admit that but also I would suck as a person too if I was used as a pawn every day of my life, escaped it, was used as a pawn again, escaped it, and then got a literal demon in my head as punishment for not wanting to be a slave to a system. Chandrelle does show some degree of guilt (tries to apologize to Lazarus before he interrupts her, rightfully so she fucked him up big time, but also she made an attempt + clearly was surprised there were such bad consequences but then also later states that the pair knew there’d be consequences) but Chandrelle is literally either seen as scum of the Earth for what she did (which on one hand fair, she did commit literal genocide, but also…the direct casualties were npcs. Npcs that get mass produced, at that. And also the priest + town girl but they exist solely to serve Chandrelle’s story and dont really have proper personalities outside of her story) or just. One half of Stormbleeze. Like i love Stormbleeze dont get me wrong, i made an animatic about them, but I don’t realistically see Chandrelle and Lazarus just. Instantly making up. Can they *eventually* make up? Sure. But anything they do have post game is never gonna be what it used to be before Chandrelle destroyed SoL. They’re different people than who they were back then and theres always gonna be that tension of the past between them. Also guys please let me see Chandrelle interact with people besides Lazarus i beg of you I will accept Bryce whom she canonically gets along with enough to willingly sit with him during the game. I hate it when women (or anyone in general) get reduced to either evil supreme for being complex characters or one half of a ship. Im not a huge LN fan but my gf is and it’s giving Six’s fandom treatment

And god Carla is so ignored AND FOR WHAT?? I get she hardly has screen time but like. So does Rebecha and everyone latches onto her (/lh i love becha too). I get we dont get a canon design for her or much outside of Sado and Lionel, but its like. Shes a morally ambiguous character too who was willing to make a dangerous virus clown to haunt her ex friend as a revenge plot but she also follows through on her promise with him following his death, even if he cant hold her to that promise from beyond the grave. Maja. Friend. Fellow fic writer. Please, please forgive me for the delayed reply. I got this on Monday and I squealed with delight from all the serotonin and then I promptly ignored you while I posted Ch 6 of Walk with Me.

I hope you understand, and I think you do considering your reaction to the installment as well as your comment about the thing you like best about my writing and I really am so flattered that it comes off that way for you! I'm gonna put the rest under the cut because it got wordy!

As for Walter and Alex, well, I hope you understand why I had a hard time making that scene a reality given what she goes through. I felt like the pressure and intensity of that position would cause her some damage, especially because Walter is going to have a hard time going easy on her while he watches her tilt back and beg for him. He doesn't mean to hurt her, of course, but his animal instinct is gonna take over, like a switch is gonna flip, brain short-circuit, something, when he sees her shift around all on her own with no prompting from him. He'll remember the way he felt about her the first time he laid eyes on her and he will have no control, right? Right??? If I ever get an itch to revisit them down the road when she's healed up a little more and able to take him that way, you'll be the first to get a tag. PInky promise!

Geralt is a heady whisper of desire to me. He flits in and out of my consciousness at the oddest times. I only know him through TWN; never read the books or played the games, so the inspiration comes from the show, and of course, of-fucking-course, Henry himself. And it may be an unpopular opinion (I see various takes from the blogs I follow) but I'm also a Yenralt lover. I sometimes feel bad taking him away from her. We'll see if the second part of S3 (which is only 3 episodes long???) will wind it's way into any more passionate trysts with him. Trollian Culture Post 2 (jesus. only 2?)

I don’t really Get when people gove trolls animalistic properties and stuff. Like. We’re kinda just stupid-evolved bugs, dude, and just because we have lusii as custodians doesn’t mean we Are Animals. Like brother we come from the fucking Mother Grub.

So why not go over what trolls are and are not, and what trolls can and can not do:

Trolls can:

Purr, Chirp, Growl, make other such noises

Inherit certain, minor features and behaviours from their lusii (for example, a troll with a meowbeast lusus may develop cat-like pupils, trolls with a crab lusus may develop a certain temperment, a land-dweller with an aquatic lusus may develop thin webbing in between their toes (or, rarely, their fingers), so on so forth). This is due to subtle pheromones given off by the lusus that the troll may be affected by.

Trolls cannot:

Develop tails, whiskers, non-seadweller fins or gills, additional horns, additional eyes, additional limbs, psychic abilities, etc etc; due to their lusus. Such features would be caused by mutations, and (depending on how severe/overt the mutation, would be cull worthy).

Trolls have:

Horns, fangs, pointed ears, psionics (depending on the caste), naturally claw-like nails, naturally black lips, grubscars and, if they are a cerulean, may have additional sets of eyes or pupils.

Trolls do not have:

Fucking tails. We don't have tails.

We also don't have antennae or mandibles (though depending on the lusus, a troll could develop teeth similar to mandibles)

Troll horns are very tough, chitinous horns (fucking obviously) that, depending on the caste, can be located on the top, sides, or top-back of the head (it's very rare to find someone with horns protruding from the front of the head, but I doubt it's impossible). They are, as we all know, candy-corn coloured, being red at the base of the horn, nearest to the skull, orange as you go further up, and yellow in the upper third/quarter of the horn. The further you go up the horn, the less sensation there will be, as there will be less nerves. (So, a piece being chipped off from the very end of the horn wouldn't be too painful, but from the base of the horn? Gog help you that shit will HURT).

Fins:

We all know that seadwellers have fins in place of ears (though unfortunately I can't tell you if they have fins anywhere ELSE. I remember most other stuff but this? No idea). These fins can be heard through via vibrations, from what I know (though again, can't really be certain). Something I do know for certain however is that they are STUPID sensitive. Like. Really goddamn sensitive. Getting a piercing in one is Excruciating, especially around the little rib-parts (the webbing bits themselves are still gonna Fucking hurt, but not as much).

Grubscars:

I am aware that grubscars aren't Usually included in art of trolls (or discussion), but let me tell you again: they are part of a troll. They are chitinous, typically raised scars left behind by the middle two pairs of legs that are absorbed when a wriggler undergoes their final pupation (these legs become part of the ribs). And while they aren't particularly sensitive when it comes to touch, it'll hurt like a motherfucker if they are stabbed, nicked or otherwise pierced. Let me fucking tell you, grubscar piercings? Not fucking worth it unless you're planning on wearing exclusively crop-tops before you're sent off-planet.

What memory would your OC rather just forget?

Rue - Everything pre-escaping Dr. Prewitt's lab, but especially the times he would yell at her, or corner her to do some sort of experiment on her. She hates him, and would do a lot to forget about him. (Foreshadowing.)

Pepper - Oh my god foaming at the mouth PEPPER!!!!! Pepper is actually the most normal one here. She's over trying to forget things that make her uncomfortable, she's accepted the things she cannot change. If she had to pick...? Hm. The day Penelope got hurt because of her. They were messing around, and Pepper was just trying to save the frog from under foot. It's really not Penny's fault she didn't see in time, and squished the frog. ...It was Pepper's fault that she got so angry about it that her magic came in, and came in strong. (Not elaborating.)

The Bones

Jackal - The War. Everything about it. Oh, Sioh, would he like to forget. He was just a child. He shouldn't have had to hurt those people-- but he did, didn't he? Doesn't that make it still his fault? Isn't that blood still on his hands? It's not pretty, being a child solider. It's worse, what his Magic did to him. Can he call it "his" Magic? Can you own something so determined to make your life miserable?

Panther - Panther... Sighs... Okay! They're ready to forget... Just. Everything. The War, yes... but her parents. Her siblings. Did they have to fight so much? It's not her fault. It feels like it was.

Your friend died for nothing. Oh, well. At least she died thinking you'd save the world, right? Before the world ends in "fire and ice", like He promised?

Rue - EASILY. Although, I suppose, considering she doesn't really have a moral compass? She wasn't raised to think in terms of "good" and "bad", just in survive. You could tell her anything, anything you wanted. If you convinced her it was in her best interests, she'll follow you to the ends of the earth. "Stick with us, we'll keep you safe." "They're dangerous, it doesn't matter if we hurt them. They deserve it, anyways." "If you don't hurt them first, they'll hurt you. Trust me. It's what they did to me."

Pepper - Extremely difficult. She's set in her ways, and won't do anything that doesn't have something beneficial to her. Unlike Rue, however, she's a lot smarter and wiser. She knows how to spin the situation to get what she wants. She won't cross a line, her own lines. Her own rules. Lawful Neutral. Extremely so.

The Bones

Jackal - He'll do anything for the bit. Take that as you will.

Panther - Panther keeps her morals in line, but if you have a solid reason to do something? If you "deserve" to be hurt? They don't think that any one human should be allowed to pick and choose who "deserves" it, of course, but... This isn't the time to play nice. The only way to take down the Talismen is to fight dirty, because Mishipeshu knows they will find a way to fight dirtier.
