Honestly, it de-acotarizing it wasn't too bad. it was a little grating because i basically had to revise 120k 😭 and my version of revising that was literally retyping the entire thing because im a psycho and can't just fix up paragraphs haha. but the plot did get some work after all of the feedback i received and i thinks its even better than it was!! There's def still some subtle acotar hints tbh (maybe to the point where i'm worried it might be a lil obvious but whatevs) but gotta let em know my roots lol

hmmm finding names was kind of a mix of easy and hard for me. i've always wanted to use the name knox because i really like it as we all know so i went with him bcs i love it. it's slightly a reference to the son i made for him, but if you've read the knox x reader fic there's something that i do want to use his (my?) canon (or is it fanon? no idea) character with a variation of the name (so excited about). but that's for when i attempt writing a fantasy so idk when that will happen, there's much more thought that has to go into that than my lil romance 💙 but yeah we love knoxie in any form 💙

sometimes i do picture the characters when im writing...it's surprisingly mostly cass i think about or slip up when i'm talking about it irl 😂 but they mostly have their own personalities now and i adore them all so much!

I would LOVE to share the other character names!! So we have Quinn (absolutely love this name tbh) and Knox obviously 💙💙💙 Then we have Ace (which would be Rhysand's character in the fanfic), Rory - Quinn's best friend and roommate. Then we have Slate (😂 always cracks me up) for Cassian's character, and Reid for Luciens character. Mandy was Mor but only makes a brief appearance! "Precious" violin? Didn't the game imply he only saw it as a means to spend more time with his sister? Lost Library outright states he was annoyed by having to practice playing it!

1) For how important their big argument is to the plot, we never even get to hear it, nor does the game bother to show exactly what served as the straw that broke the camel's back and drove Sunny to destroy the violin. I, for one, would've been genuinely interested to learn that. Maybe Mari could've said something so deeply upsetting that Sunny saw no other way to "get back" at her for hurting him? That would've made his anger a bit more understandable, imo.

Of course, giving characters understandable reasons for doing what they do is an outdated writing convention.

"MARI was yelling at you."

I love how Sunny gets this large and detailed rundown of his feelings at the moment and all Mari ever gets is this sentence. Yeah, because who cares about what she thinks? Who cares that she actually has a valid reason for berating Sunny? Her point of view is irrelevant since she's Wrong™ and she's about to get stuffed into the fridge anyway!

What nuanced storytelling.

"She didn't understand you at all... She didn't understand that you just weren't good enough. The only thing you hold onto was your anger. This pain... was it her fault?"

This is laughable. "uuuuu nobody Understands the limitless depths of my sufferi-" shut the fuck up. you did a shitty thing and you're getting rightfully called out for it.

I wouldn't be as harsh if the game put effort into showing how Sunny progressively grew exhausted (and exactly how harsh Mari got when he made mistakes), but it doesn't. I won't do the writer's job for them because I shouldn't have to.

(I know I said this a hundred times already, but for the purposes of this post, I needed to reiterate.)

4) Why were they arguing specifically at the top of the staircase in the first place?

Note that neither the caption nor the photo seem to show Mari being physically violent with Sunny, yet he interprets her getting in his way as a "fight" anyway. If the fight in question was verbal, that definition doesn't fit because Sunny isn't shown talking at any point during the argument.

"Photo of a Murder", huh?

Granted, Sunny is 12 and obviously has no idea what manslaughter is, but "murder" implies an intent to kill. A more neutral term like "death" would've been more appropriate here, imo.

Different words mean different things.

I think I see why these were scrapped. The game labeling what Sunny did as a "murder" wouldn't have allowed the narrative to paint him as an unfortunate victim of circumstance, now, would it? :)

Because falling from a staircase apparently doesn't leave any bruises that would've incriminated Sunny. No one could differentiate a neck broken due to a fall from a neck snapped by a noose either, it seems.

(No, I don't believe his parents bribed the police. There isn't enough concrete evidence to back that up.)

1) Exactly why is Basil's first thought "I can't let anyone find out what happened"? I get he's mentally unsound himself and Stressed™, but there's only so much those two factors can be used as a justification for, and what Basil did next can't be justified by them. Moreover, the fact that was the first thing he thought of suggests it's an instinctual response. What, was Basil involved in similar cover-ups before? This makes no sense.

2)

"There's no way you can tell them the truth."

Why couldn't he just say that Mari's bad knee happened to buckle at the wrong time and she accidentally fell down the stairs, then? Since the game seems to imply Sunny was more willing to open up to Basil than to his other friends, I think it'd be reasonable to infer Sunny told him about the knee. And it would be a more plausible lie for a kid his age to tell!

The game has an easy and convenient cover-up story only to choose the most unnecessarily complicated one. peak writing

"Who would believe... that it was... an accident?"

Literally everyone would. Unless Sunny had a history of being violent towards Mari (which is impossible since the game beats you over the head with how much he loved her), her death being accidental would have been the first thing to cross their minds, especially if Basil were to use the "bad knee" cover-up as described above.

Yes, Basil did what he did partly because he wanted to protect Sunny. However, if everything I've just dissected was his actual reasoning for doing something so demented, it's stupid and I will call it such.

"You think you see a figure pick something off the ground..."

Love the implication that a 12 yo child was somehow able to handle a 15 yo teenager all by himself. Because that's believable.

"For a moment, you feel at peace. You hate yourself for feeling this way. Is that all, then? Is everything going to be okay now?"

I want to emphasize just how inconceivably fucked-up this is.

Sunny's immediate reaction to the sight of his sister's hanged corpse upon snapping out of his dissociative fugue isn't horror or panickedly asking Basil what he has done.

It's relief. He feels at peace.

He's relieved that somebody cleaned up the mess he made.

i could never get bored of it tbh. esp after his brakes went up in flames and i missed him for an entire race. i was miserable the entire time. it feels wrong without him leading the pack. if anything, i was bored watching that race bc he wasn’t there. but no matter who is winning every race, i don’t really think it makes it boring because there’s still 19 other drivers fighting for the best position they can get and that’s entertaining for me. i’m always hoping for a lestappen 1-2 and oscar third wheeling, so even if i'm fully confident in max winning, i'm stressing ab other drivers having a good race.

also, i use multiviewer so i usually have the main feed, 3-4 driver cams, plus data pulled up so there’s way too much going on for me to be bored. much to think ab the whole time.

2) Water: I grew up on an island where you're never far away from seeing the water, and I get sad if I don't get to see a large body of water regularly. Lakes can give and take: drinking water, summer day swims, winter ice skating, spring morning floods, autumn drownings and early morning mist you can't quite decide is out to harm or amaze you. 3) Judo: related to my love for moving, I have finally found a sport that gives me so so much joy!! Even on the days where I feel incredibly anxious and like everyone at training will judge me, I'll drag myself to judo and maybe I won't really do that well, but I'll walk away feeling so much better. Something about actually activating my flight or fight response and choosing fight really shuts my anxiety up <3

4) Stories: reading them, telling them, writing them, listening to them, imagining them, fairytales, mythologies, legends, biographies, history, tragedies, epics... Stories are what connects us and make us, and I never get tired of participating of continuing the stories we tell ourselves and each other to make sense of and live in the world.

Hmmm, well Lanbrooke in general is a pretty small town. Not like tiny tiny but still pretty small that you can walk without too much trouble (which Iggy does because he doesn't have a car fjfjd). And all of their parents' houses were pretty close to each other, which is why it was so easy for them to play and hang out when they were young (their proximity was a big part of what formed their friend group in the first place). Currently, the furthest away is ofc Gidget because she moved. She definitely drove to the tree. Then I would say Orlam (Iggy needed to take the bus to get to his place, and also Orlam would have taken the bus to get to the tree). Iggy, Genzou, and Bucks all live a bit closer to each other, within relatively easy walking distance (and they all walked to the tree). As for awkward meetups, that's a good question dhfhdhd Genzou stayed more in contact generally with everyone (besides Orlam LOL) so he's not a stranger to like, Bucks's house. Bucks probably had a few times where she delivered something to one of them while she was working the delivery truck (especially to Genzou's shop). Orlam and Iggy would perhaps be the least likely to ever run into ppl since neither of them really get out much.

The poor woman is under sm depression and stress that Randy's death and Dewey's rejection who else does she have but these two. And Randy was always meant to die the second I spared him in 2 I knew 3 or 4 he had to go and get this!

BEFORE 5 EVEN CAME OUT I MADE HIM HAVE TWINS WITH A WOMAN!! So I was clutching my face elated and eager to use Mindy and Chad as his kids instead of neice and nephew bc why not? It was perfect! And Randy's death is very important to YN's story so even if I adored writing him my mans had to go 🥲😞

NGL the best ending for our girl would've been Mark living, getting the boys arrested, YN lives how Sid did in these future Scream installments the end. But we're just unlucky af like that

And tbf Billy x YN x Stu is such a toxic love polycule like they hate but love they are almost codependent on each other because of circumstances yet resent each other. It's gonna be REALLY interested to write all this out (And hard to make believable 😭)
