I’ve seen several soundtrack playlists floating around, but unfortunately a lot have other songs added or are missing some that were used in the show, so I went ahead and made my own!

Below the cut is a full listing of when each song was used during the show, timestamped as accurately as I could manage.

Your hair stuck to your neck and cheeks as rain poured from the heavens, water sloshing loudly down the streets as it made its way to the sewers in the large city of Seoul.

Your clothes hugged your body tightly, almost see-through with how wet everything was. Blood was running down your arm, trickling off the tips of your fingers with each step. You kept your head down, hoping that it'd hide your eyes, which were currently glowing a dim gold. Your hands were shaking, and everytime someone walked forward to ask if you were alright you pushed past them. You had to get away from their territory, unless you'd like to get into another fight. Which of course, you didn't.

With each extension of your legs, your breathing became more and more labored, but you moved with steadfast determination. You had a destination and you wouldn't let anyone stop you from reaching it.

Or at least, that's what you had been set on.

You hadn't realized that a man from across the street had looked at you and saw the blood running down your forearm, leaving not only a trail of it on the sidewalk but also drawing onlooker’s eyes to you. This man's hair was brown, like his eyes. He had an ear piercing and held a pure white umbrella over his head to shield his outfit from the rain: a white collared shirt with a fluffy jacket hanging around his shoulders, tight black jeans matching his combat boots nicely. He looked angelic with the water cascading around him, as if it were forbidden to touch his skin.

He wasn't alone, however. He had a chaperone with him; a man in a fully black suit with an earpiece and sunglasses hiding his eyes. He looked more like a bodyguard than a chaperone, though the fact that he was standing in front of a black limousine gave off the impression that he was being chaperoned.

"Jisung-ssi, aren't you getting into the car? You'll catch a cold if you stay outside." The suit -man said, leaning down slightly to talk to Jisung over the rain.

The man nodded before turning to his friend. “Stay here, hyung. I'll be right back."

"Jisung—“

It was too late to stop him as the man, Jisung, jogged over the street towards you, stopping you cautiously.

"Excuse me? You don't look so good." Jisung called from behind you, making you turn around. Your eyes went back to their natural color when you saw his face, your shoulders tensing.

Instead of answering, you just nodded slowly. Jisung walked forward hesitantly, not wanting to frighten you. "Why don't you come with me? I can give you medical assistance back at my manor... And a new pair of clothes,” he added with a reassuring smile, putting his hand on your uninjured arm, walking closer and shielding you from the rain. You took a moment but nodded, not having found your voice just yet.

After the confirmation, Jisung rushed you over to the limousine and an anxious looking guard, tense as he watched you.

"Jisung-ssi, why would you—"

"She's injured, Minho hyung. We're helping her." Jisung said firmly, opening the car door for you and letting you slide into the back of the car. The back was spacious, and it felt as if it could be it's own little room. Jisung closed the door with a smile before turning back to his bodyguard.

"We can't take her, Jisung. She needs to go."

"But she's injured!"

"She must've gotten it in some sort of fight then, no? She could be dangerous." Minho pleaded, putting both his hands on the younger's shoulders for emphasis. Jisung bit his lip before pressing it into a thin line.

"She's coming with us, and I will help her. End of story. Tell Hyunjin to look for some comfortable clothes. She can use some of mine. And get Chan hyung to run a bath—"

"Jisung—"

"That is an order, Minho,” Jisung said sternly. Minho sighed in frustration before nodding stiffly and opening the door for him. With a thankful nod, Jisung got into the car, watching as Minho took out his phone before sliding into the passenger seat.

You were looking at Jisung curiously, your eyes glued to his form. You had one hand over your still bleeding arm.

"I'm sorry about that. My name is Han Jisung, it's a pleasure to meet you." Jisung smiled at you, his eyes drifting from the blank expression on your face to your arm.

You followed his gaze and winced slightly. "I'm sorry about your car. It might need cleaning,” you said, your voice gravelly from not talking for the last few hours or so.

"Oh no, that's fine, really! The bigger issue here is your arm..." Jisung waited for the car to start moving before he got up from his seat and crouched in front of you. He grabbed a scarf that had been laying in the corner of the car which you hadn't noticed until now, taking your arm and wrapping the cloth around it, tying it firmly.

"This will be all I can do until we get to my house, but it should be enough to slow the bleeding."

"You're the son of those two doctors, aren't you?" You asked in a low voice, meeting his eyes as he looked at you slowly. With a sigh he nodded, smiling half heartedly.

"I am, yes. My parents are the best doctors in the country." You nodded slowly. That explained why he was good with injuries. Clearing his throat after a minute of silence, he looked at you curiously. "I don't think I know your name?"

"Right. Sorry. My name is Y/N." You tried to mimmick his smile, fighting against your urge to lean forward and sniff him. Jisung nodded and smiled, lurching to the side when the driver hit the breaks.

You laughed at him, helping him up and gently patting the seat beside you. Embarrassed, he sat next to you while running a hand through his hair, trying to strike up conversation.

By the time you got to his manor, it was around 22:00 due to terrible traffic. And when you said manor, you were being serious.

It had at least three stories and a gorgeous garden leading up to the garage. The main gate was a pure black and from outside the car window you could see the pure white house and large oak door leading inside. You took a small road leading away from the main entrance to the garage.

The doors inside opened automatically and once you were parked inside, you saw how many cars they had. It seemed like they had an endless amount. A beautiful red Ferrari, a Grey Porsche and what you think was a black Bugatti. Jisung led you into the actual house, with it's carpeted floors and large fireplace in the center.

A seven inch flat screen TV was mounted above the fireplace. On it's mantel, there was a neat row of what seemed to be family pictures, a small, maybe five or six year old Jisung in each picture. As he led you further inside towards the steps, you saw their kitchen, all white with tiled floors and birch cabinets. It smelt like cookies and cream and milk.

Off to the left of the kitchen was the dining room, a beautiful rectangular glass table lined with ten chairs total. Jisung shouted something about a guest and being in his room as he took you up the stairs to the second story, leading you down a series of different hallways before finally turning into his room.

Though you hadn't noticed him before, you finally saw Minho trailing after you and Jisung, his glasses in his jacket pocket. You looked away while he glared at you suspiciously.

Walking inside Jisung's room, your jaw dropped.

It was a gorgeous beige color with a king sized bed in the middle, a large carpet at its feet. There was a birch desk to the left of the bed, a PC sitting neatly in it's center. The door to his bathroom was ajar, the smell of strawberry scented bubbles wafting through the air. A man walked out of the bathroom, looking curiously from you to Jisung.

"Your bath is ready, sir."

"Call me by my name, hyung. Thank you, by the way. Did Hyunjin hyung get the clothes?"

"Yes. They're in the bathroom."

"Wonderful!" Jisung turned, beckoning you over. "That'll be all. Minho hyung, you can wait outside. This won't take long." Reluctantly, both men left the room, closing the door behind them.

"Who was that man?"

"Oh, Chan hyung? He's a friend of mine." Jisung said with a smile, walking over to his desk before taking out medical supplies and patting the edge of the bed. You sat down and held out your arm, watching curiously as he untied the scarf and started doing doctor things you didn't understand.

"He seems more like a servant than a friend..." You said thoughtfully, nervous as to Jisung's reaction. He merely laughed, however, easing your nerves.

"I guess. They, all of my friends I mean, are more or less bodyguards to either myself or my parents. Since we're all worth quite a lot of money we do have to deal with a few attempted attacks once in a blue moon." You nod, mind racing. Who'd knew that a family of renowned doctors faced the fear of assassination?

Either way, you didn't care. You looked over Jisung again, and felt your heart leap like it had before.

He must be him, then. You didn't think you'd ever find him, but you guess it was true when they said it would be a chance meeting. "All done! There should be a pair of clean, dry clothes in the bathroom along with a nice, warm bath. Take as long as you'd like. I'll send someone up when dinner’s ready."

You nodded speechlessly, watching him leave before walking over to the bathroom. Suddenly aware of how much you were dripping around the room, you made a mental note to dry the floor before you left.

After a nice long bath, you were called downstairs for dinner. You were escorted by a young looking man, though he still towered over you, as most of the men you'd met so far did. When you got downstairs jazz music filled your ears and the lights were all on in the kitchen and dining room. Jisung ushered you over with a smile, patting the arm of the chair next to him.

You shuffled over hesitantly, bowing to everyone already at the table before taking a seat.

An older man and woman sat at each end of the table, looking at you curiously. "You're Y/N, I presume?"

"Yes. I'm sorry for causing you all such trouble... Your son was kind enough to invite me inside,” you explained softly, meeting Jisung's eyes before looking away once more. The urge to smell him washed over you again, but you resisted easily enough.

"It's quite alright, dear. We're glad you're looking healthier. Now let's eat!"

You thanked everyone for the food before eating as if it were your last meal, the eyes around the table keeping close watch. There were a good amount of unfamiliar faces sitting around the table eating with you, though you recognized Chan, Minho and the boy, Jeongin, who had escorted you down. You assumed the others were the rest of the bodyguards Jisung had mentioned.

"Why're you wearing Jisung's clothes, by the way?" Jeongin asked after swallowing his food, a brow tilted curiously.

"I'm not uh.. I'm not sure... I didn't know these belonged to him—"

"I leant her some of my older clothes since I don't think Mom's style would fit her."

You laughed awkwardly, listening into the conversations starting all around you now.

When the meal ended you insisted on cleaning the dishes, as a thank you for Jisung’s help.

Jisung came to you a bit after, smiling. His hair was damp, probably from a recent shower, and he was wearing a pair of silky black pajamas.

"Yes?" You probed. He stood there quietly, staring thoughtfully. He huffed before clearing his throat.

"Right. The guest room you'll be sleeping in is across from mine. If you need anything at all, just ask. We're happy to help."

"Thank you..." You mumbled, bowing. You held eye contact with him, both of you sharing the moment in complete silence. "Uhm, Jisung?"

"Yes?"

"Why are you helping me?" You asked in a small voice, tilting your head to the side. Jisung shrugged thoughtfully.

"I don't know. There's just something about you that makes me want to help."

You nodded, pushing back the feeling of your eyes changing color.

"Goodnight, Y/N. Sleep well."

"Goodnight, Jisung."

You creeped out into the hallway, your feet completely silent.

Your eyes were glowing a faint gold, your vision as clear as if it were still daylight. Since you couldn't see anyone, you walked across the hall, opening the door to Jisung’s room quietly before stepping inside.

Quiet as a mouse, you watched over him, his breath even as he slept, completely unaware. You crawled on top of him, somehow not waking him up. In the cover of darkness you leant in and sniffed at his neck, a blissful feeling making its way down the back of your throat. He was the one for sure.

Jisung's eyes opened, before widening. As he was about to scream for help, you covered his mouth with your palm, putting your finger over your lips in a hushing motion. His eyes were wide and fearful but most of all questioning. With a small, toothy smile, you leaned in towards his ear.

"It'll all make sense soon."

Your eyes glowed just a bit brighter, Jisung's mind going hazy as he relaxed underneath you. You used your free hand to tilt his head back, exposing his neck. Easily sensing the vein pulsating with each beat of his heart. You straddled him since he was already awake. You brushed your lips over his neck, chuckling as a chill ran down his spine.

Biting down onto his neck, his back arched up, gasp muffled by your hand. The last thing he saw was a flash of pure black fur and glowing golden eyes before going limp.

Precious babies - I’m sure nothing bad will ever happen to them.

(ID: Reference sheet for my Kirby OCs, Para Dee and Bow Dee. Visually, Para is a young Waddle Dee with light orange fur, a pale beige face, peach cheek blush, brown eyes, and yellow feet. Just their kid versions at the moment, but there might be teen and adult refs for them in the future depending on how much story stuff I get around to showcasing. I got a couple other story-pertinent characters in mind as well, but they’re still deep in concept stages, so no refs for them just yet, haha. Some fun facts about Para Dee:

-His name is just a shortened version of “Parasol Waddle Dee” - in addition to reflecting his Copy Ability, he has yet to find another name that he feels fits him better, so he keeps it as a nickname for much of his childhood and beyond (a common practice among Waddle Dees).

-He is around DDD and Meta’s age, and a little older than Bow.

-He is the middle child in a pretty big family, raised by two caring parents and a whole host of relatives on either side. Much as he loves his family, being crammed in a veritable mosh pit of siblings gets to be a bit much for him sometimes. He hangs out with DDD and co. partially to get away for a while, partially because he was probably going to get roped in with them anyway.

-He shares a deep love of books and learning with Meta, though his interests lean more towards math, science, and mechanical engineering, with space being perhaps his biggest hyperfixation. Seriously, this lad can go on about nebulae and starships and quantum mechanics for hours if you let him.

-Para has an unfortunate habit of “Um, actually”-ing people about topics he knows (or thinks he knows) well, annoying his friends at best and making him an easy target for local bullies at worse…

-Unlike his friends, Para is not a very active or adventurous soul. He is easily startled, chronically un-athletic, and unlikely to harm a fly let alone another person. He much prefers quieter activities like reading and stargazing, especially from the comfort of his own home. The only physical activity he seems to enjoy is rollerskating, though all he does is leisurely roll around the park while watching the others fail at doing cool tricks.

-Though reluctant about most things, Para is especially afraid of heights. Even being slightly up off the ground has him scrambling to cling to the nearest solid object (usually DDD, who has probably picked him up, possibly with the intent to throw).

-While his friends go on about their lofty goals of being kings and knights, Para’s ambitions are relatively lax. He’d like to go to university off-world to study rocket science when he’s older, maybe even learn to build them one day, but that’s about as big as his dreams get, and even those could be narrowed down further to just seeing a real interstellar starship in person. Sometimes, he imagines flying through space on one, seeing all those stars he loves so much up close and personal, even if the idea of being up that high makes his little heart stutter in his chest…

Some fun facts about Bow Dee:

-She is named, unsurprisingly, for the bow on her head, which she has been wearing since she was a baby and practically refuses to remove without a lot of coaxing (stars help anyone who tries to take it off by force). She keeps both the name and the bow for much of her childhood, though she might not keep them (or her pronouns) forever…

-She is the baby of the group, a couple years younger than DDD, Meta, and Para.

-She comes from a relatively small family, taken care of by her two (extremely cool) moms and an older brother who is often away with lessons or hanging out with his friends (usually to get away from his "obnoxious baby sister"). As a result, she is on her own more than she cares to be - hence why she follows DDD and his friends around like an overeager puppy all the time.

-She thinks Meta is the coolest person ever from the moment she meets him. She hovers around him constantly whenever the gang is together (to his slight annoyance), sometimes even mimicking his poses and gestures without meaning to (usually while Meta is mimicking DDD the same way).

-Bow was born with a Copy Ability atypical for Waddle Dees, that being Water. At this point in her life, the most she can do is manifest bubbles at will and maybe manipulate small puddles if she focuses hard enough. Sometimes, in moments of high stress, she can summon powerful jets of water from nearby rivers, lakes, or even pipes beneath the ground (something that has definitely gotten her into trouble more than once). She will get the hang of her powers with enough time and practice, especially as her interests in oceans, sea life, and sailing grow over time…

-Bow finds it hard to sit still and loses focus easily if she’s not already invested in something (much to her teachers’ frustration). But when she is invested in a task, she will go all in on it until either her energy runs out or something else grabs her attention.

-Bow loves sports and most outdoor activities, constantly bouncing between favorites (though she probably enjoys swimming and surfing the most) and getting super competitive when teams are involved (much to DDD and Meta’s delight, and Para’s dismay).

-On that note, she is the only one of the four who has ever successfully landed a kickflip without getting hurt (at least after the first time).

-Bow - who often forgets that she is the smallest person in the room - will challenge anything to a fight if it makes her angry enough. Literally, she will look a feral Gigant Edge directly in the helmet and put up her little fists like she has any chance at winning. The only exception to this is bugs - she will perish before letting a bug anywhere near here (something DDD never lets her live down).

-If she had a mouth, she would bite.

Synopsis:

Hu Ba Yi, Shirley Yang and Wang Pang Zi explore a mysterious tomb in the Shaanxi region. Shirley Yang travels to the Longling Maze Grottos to investigate unusual patterns on fossil fragments. Review of drama:

Good action scenes and good whump. No aftercare for those who were looking for it. Very realistic whump and clear exhaustion is seen in the behavior of the characters in the later episodes when they have been going through the tomb for hours. I like the character development for Ma Da Dan, who also got the ending he deserved, after all the trials of the tomb. Luckily, I was able to post this exactly one year after the previous one. I apologize to anyone who was waiting for it, though seeing the amount of interaction on the previous one, not many people were. I will start working on the third season soon, for those looking for it. If I missed anything, please feel free to let me know and any requests for whump lists are welcome. Summary:

Bobby finds a lone hellhound puppy. Not able to kill it he cares for it instead. He tries to contact Crowley for information but he won't show up. Until he suddenly does. Excerpt ----------- Going closer to the cage the growling, that was frankly quite pitiful, turns into whining and whimpering. "What kind of hellhound whimpers?" Grabbing some dirt from the ground he walks up to the cage. Frowning he looks down at the seemingly empty space. "And what kind of hellhound can be held by a normal cage." Dropping the dirt over the cage it lands and outlines the silhouette of what looks like a small dog or a, "Puppy. A hellhound puppy." Turning he rubs at his face. "Shit." Rewriting and editing 2024-05-23 to 2024-06-05 Work's og word count: 8,927 Word count after rewrite: 10,082 difference: 1,155 words or 13%

Chapter 1

Holding the phone pressed to his ear with his shoulder Bobby sighs, setting down the gun he was cleaning. “Could be wolves.”

“It's not wolves, Booby.”

“Okay, okay, I believe you. But what I don't understand is why I have to go and check it out and not you?” He grumbles, taking the phone back in his hand.

“I'm following a group of vampires heading up north. If I took a detour I would lose them. Bobby, seriously it's not wolves killing all those sheep.”

Sighing Bobby relinquishes. “A’right I'll check it out.”

“Thanks.”

Pinching the bridge of his nose he waves of the thanks. “Yeah, yeah. Just don't get yourself killed fooling around with those vampires.”

“I’m not a newbie.”

“Sure. Bye, Matthew.”

“Bye, Bobby.” Hanging up the phone he sighs heavily. Looking down at the counter he picks up the note he scribbled down the address on. “Well, I’ll better check it out.”

Crouching down by the torn apart carcass of a sheep Bobby let’s out a thoughtful hum. “Well, something sure seems hungry.” Inspecting the claw and bite marks he frowns. As he takes a closer look, he notes that they bear a striking resemblance to hellhound claw and bite marks but are far too small. They're even too small to be from wolves, but the marks are vicious and deep. Might be coyotes.

Cutting up what remains of the sheep he packs the meat up in a cooler.

After looking around the fields for any more signs of dead sheep Bobby decides to head back to a barn he passed by before. Walking around the barn he notices some scratch mark by a hole in the outer wall. Heading on inside he discovers that it seems abandoned, or at least nobody has been there for quite some time.

Looking around inside he finds a pile of straw with some smudged paw prints in the dirt around it. The prints still seem too small to be from a wolf, but also too large to be a coyote. Might be a feral dog.  

With a sigh he walks back to his truck and drives it up to the barn. Better make sure it's just some feral dogs and not anything else.

Getting a cage from the back of the truck he carries it inside. “Let’s start with something simple.” Setting up a rudimentary trap with the cage, Bobby uses a shank from the dead sheep as bait. Hopefully there will only be a rogue dog in here tomorrow and nothing else.

Coming back the next day Bobby walks into the barn only to find the door of the cage closed and something growling inside it. Something invisible. “Balls.” Please don't be a hellhound .

Moving closer to the cage the growling, that was frankly quite pitiful, turns into whining and whimpering. “What kind of hellhound whimpers?”

Curious, he grabs some dirt from the ground before he walks up to the cage. Frowning he looks down at the seemingly empty space. “And what kind of hellhound can be held by a normal cage?” Dropping the dirt over the cage it lands and outlines the silhouette of what looks like a small dog or a, “Puppy. It’s a hellhound puppy.” Turning he rubs at his face. “Shit.”

Not sure what to do he starts walking away to check if he has anything useful in his truck but after a couple of steps the whining from the cages becomes louder. Stopping Bobby looks back at the cage which actually causes the whining to quiet down. Frowning Bobby notices that the sheep shank he left has been decimated and only some bone fragments remain.

Sighing he heads over to his truck, the desperate whimpering now turned into howls following him out.

Taking out the cooler with the rest of the sheep from the back of his truck Bobby takes a moment to think about what he's about to do. I've gone soft with old age. Shaking his head he goes back into the barn. The moment he steps into the barn the howling stops and a consistent whining starts up.

Kneeling down on one knee by the cage he places the cooler next to himself. Watching the last bits of dirt still seemingly float in midair Bobby unsheathes his knife with a sigh and opens the cooler. As fast as the lid of the cooler opens the whining from the pup turns into what can only be described as yapping. Happy yapping.

Raising an eyebrow, he looks over at the cage. “A yapping hellhound.” Shaking his head he picks up one of the last legs from the sheep and holds it in front of the cage. “I’ll take it that you want this.” Yapping turning louder, he can hear something swooshing in the air. So hellhounds wag their tails. Wouldn't that be something to add to the bestiary.

Cutting off a small piece of the meat he uses the knife to poke it in through the bars. It immediately gets snatched up and disappears before Bobby can even blink. “You're really hungry, ain’t you?”

Continuing to feed the puppy through the bars Bobby tries to figure out what to do. “Should kill you. But I also need to figure out how you got here.” Shoving in the last piece of meat he stands up, knees aching. “I’m too old for this.”

As Bobby backs away from the cage the whining starts up again. Looking down towards the sound Bobby can’t help but feel his heart ache at the noise. It just had to be a puppy.

Sighing he grabs the cooler walking back to his truck, the howling of an abandoned puppy slicing through the air.

Leaving the cooler in the truck he grabs some supplies and heads back into the barn. Now armed with rope and salt, the only thing he can do is hope is plan works. Taking a lap around the cage he makes a circle of salt.  

Kneeling by the door of the cage, the swooshing noise of a tail returns with a vengeance and is accompanied by the excited shuffling sound of paws. Letting out a deep breath Bobby shakes his head. “This is how I die. Goddamned hypocrite is what I am.”

Tense and ready to withdraw within a moment's notice Bobby holds his hand up against the cage bars. When something cold and wet pushes against his hand he flinches but keeps his hand still. It’s probably just its nose. Forcing himself to stay still he lets the pup sniff at his hand. Whining it pushes against the bars before licking at his hand.

“Okay, so far so good.” Taking a deep breath and holding it, he lets one of his fingers poke into the cage. “Don't bite, okay?” But instead of teeth there is just more drool. Chuckling in relief Bobby pokes some more fingers in only to be greeted by vigorous licking. “You’re really just a puppy, aren’t you?”

Making up his mind he removes his hand reaching off to the side to pick up some more loose dirt. “Let's see you again.” Dropping the dirt over the cage the slight silhouette of the hellhound puppy becomes visible again. “You just stay still now.” Reaching for the lock Bobby keeps an eye on the floating dirt. “No bolting away, okay?”

Holding the door closed he picks up the rope he will use as a makeshift leash. Talking calmly to the puppy, he starts to slowly open the door. “You ain't gonna attack me. No. No, you don't want that. All you wanted was some food. And I got you that.” Eyeing the floating dirt Bobby slips the rope over what he hopes is the puppy’s head. “You just wanted some breakfast, didn't you?” Tightening the knot around the puppy’s neck he lets his hands retreat. “There.”

Keeping a firm hold of the rope he stands. “Let’s see if this will work.” Tugging lightly on the makeshift leash to get the puppy to move. Curious, Bobby watches the floating dirt trot out of the cage. Once out of the cage the puppy shakes itself vigorously, sending dirt flying everywhere. “Ah, sorry about the dirt, pup.”

Stepping back, he kicks at the salt line and tugs at the rope for the puppy to follow. When the seemingly levitating noose starts to move, he begins to lead the puppy out to his truck.

Glancing down at the invisible puppy Bobby lets out a tired sigh “What should I do with you? I might be able to ask Crowley. Crossroad demons use you lot, so he might know why there's a hellpuppy running around.” Frowning, he doesn’t feel very hopeful about this possibility. But what else could he do? He doesn’t remember any mention about hellhound puppies in any of his books. Letting out a happy bark, the puppy breaks Bobby out of his contemplations. Shaking his head he smiles down at the puppy. “Let’s concentrate on what I know. You need food. And hopefully I got something for you to eat back at home.”

Siding up to the passenger side of his truck Bobby opens the door. “Okay, let’s see how this will work.” Glancing from the floating loop of rope to the passage seat, Bobby tries to figure out how to get the hellpup to get in the car. But before he can come up with anything the puppy walks forward and jumps on to the seat by its own volition.

Surprised Bobby stares at the hellpuppy now making itself comfortable in his passenger seat. “Well, that was easy.” Not willing to look a gift horse in the mouth, Bobby secures the rope to the headrest before he closes the door.

Walking over to the driver side Bobby slides in behind the steering wheel. As he turns the key and the engine roars to life he glances worriedly over at the pup. But it doesn’t really react to the noise, seeming to instead have settled down in the seat for a nap. Surprised but thankful for the puppy’s lack of reaction he puts the car into drive.

Staring off through the windshield, Bobby contemplates what he��s about to do before he lets out a defeated breath. “This is so gonna come back to bite me in the ass.”

Rolling up the driveway Bobby goes through his half assed-plan. “So we'll get inside where I will temporarily put you in a circle of salt. Just long enough to secure the house so that you can't get out. Okay?” Looking over at the invisible puppy the rope doesn’t stir.

“You awake there?” Reaching over Bobby tugs lightly on the rope. Getting a quiet sleepy whine in response he lets go of the rope.

Parking he gets out of the truck and walks over to the passenger side. Opening the door, he unties the rope from the headrest. Tugging on it the rope he hopes that the puppy will simply hop out on their own but the loop of rope stays put and so does the pup.

As he tugs a bit more insistently on the rope he only gets what sounds as a sleepy yawn in return. “Oh, come on now.” Reaching over he pets on what he assumes is the pups head only to recoil at the feel of its skin. Feels like gnarly scaring mixed with fur. Shaking off the unpleasant feeling from the first touch, he reaches out once more to pet down its back. “You need to get up, sweetheart.” Feeling the body under his hand move he can see the loop rise before settling down again. With a sigh he removes his hand.

Taking off his hat Bobby rubs a hand across his head. “Well, if you ain't getting up by your own I guess I have to move you by myself.”

Putting his cap back on he bends down. “No biting.” Getting his arms under the small body he lifts the puppy up only to grunt under the unexpected weight. “What are you made of? Lead. You're barely bigger than a beagle.” Hiking the puppy up in his arms he bumps the door shut with his hip. Letting out a snort the puppy settles in his arms, nose nuzzling at Bobby’s neck.

As Bobby carries the puppy to the front door, he feels claws dig into his arm. Grumbling to himself, Bobby shifts his grip on the pup as he tries to open the door. “Bringing a hellhound home. How can I ever yell at the boys for doing something stupid ever again.”

Getting the door open he kicks at the salt line he keeps at the threshold before walking in and heading over to the kitchen. Setting down the sleepy bundle on the kitchen floor he reaches over to the counter picking up one of the many cartons of salt he keeps there.

Using the rope loop as a base point, Bobby walks around the hellpup with the salt, making a circle. Crouching down Bobby reaches into the circle and pets the puppy. “So you'll just stay here while I get some stuff from my truck and double check all the salt lines so you won't get out. Okay?” Whining the pup butts his head against Bobby’s hand.

For a second Bobby hesitates before he stands and walks away. The moment he sets foot out of the kitchen what he was afraid of happens, the pup starts howling and whining for him to come back.

Hurrying up his pace, Bobby goes out to his truck to get the cooler and things. Going back to the house he leaves everything in the hallway before quickly checking all the salt lines in the house, while also being accompanied by the sound of desperate howling from the puppy.

Heading back to the kitchen to check the last salt lines at the back, the howling thankfully stops as he enters the kitchen. Instead, Bobby can see the rope start to bounce up and down, and the puppy whines and yaps happily.

“Calm down. I'm done in just a second.” Checking the last lines, he’s happy to note that everything seems to be secure.

Turning back to the bouncing, yapping hellpup, he gives a small smile. “Okay, let’s get you out of that.” Under the excited barking, Bobby can just make out the sound of claws clicking and skidding across the floor. Chuckling Bobby bends down to break the salt line when he notices the marks on the floor. Around the inner edge of the salt line there’s claw marks. Grimacing at the gouges in the linoleum he adds, “Try to not claw or destroy anything once you’re out.”

As Bobby breaks the salt line the puppy bounces up to him and he feels paws land on his thighs. Claws digging in, the pup tries to push itself up to Bobby face, snuffling at his chin. Laughing, Bobby pets the pup’s head. “Yeah, yeah. I was only gone for a couple of minutes.”

Straightening up, the puppy’s slides back to the floor. Turning he walks over to a cupboard to get a broom to sweep up all the salt. Hearing claws click against the floor he looks back to see the rope trailing after him. Frowning in concern he mutters, “Need to do something about that rope. Can't have you walking around with it trailing behind you like that. Might get stuck.”

Grabbing a broom, he starts to sweep up the salt.

When the last of the salt has been swept up and the dustpan emptied in the bin, Bobby kneels on the floor. Clicking his tongue Bobby holds out his hand. “Come here, pup.” Surprisingly the puppy obediently trots over to him and a wet nose nudges at his hand.

Taking out a knife he grabs the rope and cuts it shorter. Bobby then adjusts the rope around the pup’s neck. “So you don't strangle yourself.”

Letting go of the rope he hears the pup shake itself and what sounds as scratching. Seeing the rope turn, some fraying also appears. Reaching out Bobby stops the pup. “Stop that. No scratching. It needs to stay. Can't see where you are without it.” Ruffling the pup’s ears, he keeps an eye on the rope loop as he stands and walks out into the hallway. “Let's find a blanket for you to lie on.”

Finding an old picnic blanket for the puppy to sleep on, Bobby laid it out by the couch in his study. Making sure the puppy was well and settled, he tried to contact Crowley.  

After the fifth failed attempt to summon Crowly, Bobby gives up on it.

Settling down to do some old-fashioned research he opens one of his many tomes and tries to find anything mention or reference to hellhound puppies.

Hours later he releases an annoyed groan. Shutting the book he was reading, Bobby rubs at his face in frustration. “Nothing. Absolutely nothing.”

Rolling his stiff neck and shoulder he leans back in his chair and stares up at the ceiling. None of the books he’s gone through so far has mentioned anything about hellhound’s reproduction or their offspring. Closing his eyes to think for a moment, Bobby frowns as his thoughts get interrupted by munching noises.

Glancing over at the hellpup Bobby sees one of his tomes getting shredded. “Don't chew on that!” Standing up he hurries over. Grabbing the book he admonishes the pup. “Bad dog! No!” Looking the book over it seems as if the thick leather cover and spine has taken the brunt of the damage.

Hearing whining he looks down to see the rope loop hunker low on the floor. Feeling bad for yelling at the pup, Bobby leans down and pets it. “It's not your fault. Shouldn't have left it lying on the floor.” Still whining the puppy butts its head against his hands. “It's not your fault, -...” Blanking Bobby realizes that he doesn't know what to call the puppy.

“Should probably give you a name. The way this research is going you will stay here for quite some time. And Crowley won't answer any of my tries to contact him.” Glancing thoughtfully from the mangled book to the levitating rope he raises an eyebrow. “Well, you seem to like literature. Maybe something from a classic. Though I don't know if you’re a boy or girl.”

Letting out a tired sigh he sits down on the couch. “Well, you seem far too well behaved to be a boy.” Looking down at the book in his hand Bobby smiles wryly, “When you ain't eating my research material.”

Feeling paws land on his lap a cold nose comes to nudge at his hand, the pup seeming to whine in apology.

Setting the book aside he scratches at the back of an invisible ear, cold nose snuffling at his wrist. “Maybe, Elizabeth. Lizzy.” Getting no response from the pup he dismisses the name. “Yeah, I don't like it that much either.”

Ransacking his brain for names he can't really come up with anything original. “What about Juliet?” Getting a happy yap at that, he smiles ruffles the pup’s ears. “Really? Juliet?”

Humming in thought he decides that it will do. “Ain't that original but what's in a name?” Ruffling Juliet's ears one more time, Bobby stands. “Let's find something for you to chew on that isn't 700 years old.”

Having given up on research for now, Bobby has determined that it’s time for dinner.

Standing in front of the open fridge he glances from its content and over at Juliet who's busy happily demolishing the femur from a sheep.

Grabbing the ribeye Bobby had been planning to make for himself he turns and takes a plate down from a shelf. Hearing shuffling, the clicking of claws walks up to him. Glancing down he sees the rope loop look up at him and whine eagerly. “Calm your horses. I'm just gonna plate it for you.”

Plating the stake over to the plate he turns to the puppy. “Sit.” Looking down at the puppy that he can't see, Bobby realizes how stupid the demand is. Hesitating, he tries to inspect the rope, it looks like it might have changed elevation and angle, but who is he really trying to convince.

“Ehhm, I'm just going to assume that you're sitting down.” Setting down the plate he watches in morbid fascination as the stake gets ripped apart and the strips of meat disappear in the blink of an eye. Shaking his head at the strange sight Bobby turns to grab a bowl. Filling it with water he sets it down next to the plate. “There you go.”

Watching the last traces of stake disappear, Bobby hopes it will be enough for now. “I'll have to go into town to buy kibble or something for you tomorrow.”

Turning back to the counter he lets out a deep breath and reaches for the bread. “Guess I'll have sandwiches.”

Cleaning up in his study, he’s musing about what to do with Juliet when she starts to whine. Looking over at the invisible puppy it takes him a second to realize what she wants. “Need to go out?”

Whistling for Juliet to follow, he heads over to the kitchen. Grabbing the rope he left there he crouches down and clicks his tongue. “Come here, Juliet.” Obediently the hellpuppy walks up to him.

Tying the rope securely to the loop around Juliet’s neck, Bobby pets her on the head. “There.”

Hesitating by the backdoor he holds it slightly ajar. “No running away now. You hear me?” Barking happily, Juliet stands politely by his side.

As they go outside Bobby takes Juliet for a small walk around the junkyard and nearby woods. Glancing down at the rope obediently trotting next to him Bobby smiles. “Who would have ever thought that hellhounds knew how to heel.”

Back indoors he unties Juliet. Looking at the rope loop walk away he realizes that he can't let her roam free in his house at night, she might get out while he sleeps. Glancing at the time he notes that it’s already quite late.

Fetching Juliet’s blanket from the study, Bobby folds it up into a nice bed and lays it on the kitchen floor. “Juliet, come here.” Making sure that she stays put on the blanket he grabs the salt and makes a circle around her. “This is only for tonight. Okay? Or at least till I figure something else out.”

Walking over to the door he pauses at the threshold. Juliet has already started to whine. Glancing back he tries to sound comforting. “I'll just be upstairs, I'm not abandoning you.” Turning off the light he heads up to his bedroom, Juliet howling in despair from the kitchen.

Getting ready for bed with the cries of a puppy following you is a truly unpleasant experience. Feeling exhausted Bobby sits down on his bed and listens to the hellhound yowling like any normal puppy would.

“Hellhound. Have to remember that.” This is what he tries to tell himself but just then a heart-breaking howl slices through the air. Frowning he shakes his head and tries to ignore the guilt bubbling up in his chest. “She has to stop eventually.”

Getting in bed he tries to block out the howling, waiting for it to stop, but after 40 minutes there doesn't seem to be any end to it.

Sitting up Bobby shakes his head. “Gone soft is what I have.” Getting out of bed he heads down back to the kitchen. As fast as he sets his foot in the kitchen the yowling stops getting replaced by happy yapping and excited whines.

Turning on the lights he looks over at the rope loop bouncing up and down. That’s when he takes note of the floor. The linoleum inside the circle is ruined. Absolutely scratched to hell, as if she tried to dig herself out of the circle.

With a sigh he breaks the salt circle, the invisible puppy immediately jumping him, paws landing on his thighs and nose snuffling his hand. “Guess you'll sleep with me tonight.”

Grabbing a carton of salt, he heads back up to his bedroom Juliet following suit.

After he made a salt line at his bedroom door he's just about to lie down in bed when he feels the mattress dip. “No, bad Juliet. Down.” Watching the rope settle down a pleading whine comes from it.

Tired, Bobby easily relinquishes. “Okay, guess you can stay.”

Laying down he pets Juliet on the head. “Night, Juliet.”

Nope. And as much as I joke about getting a partner for couple's cosplay, I honestly don't care that much ahaha. Arospec and all

02) What was your dream growing up?

Mmmm, in general? I think most often I dreamed about being a writer professionally, but I had so many dreams. Kind of an overachiever little kid, I thought knowing fractions at 5yo was gonna get me far ahaha (it did not 💔)

03) What talent do you wish you had?

At this point I'm consider being able to identify your own emotions and where they come from a talent because oh, boy, am I bad at that. It would sure help me.

04) If someone bought you a drink what would it be?

I'm not sure if I'm missing context here but... a juice box? That's what my friends always say they would get me ahaha

05) Favorite vegetable?

Oh, I adore broccoli. Texture and flavor wise it's just so nice

06) What was the last book you read?

Clockwork Prince around the beginning of the year, if I'm not mistaken. I haven't followed through with actually finishing my reread of that trilogy, oof, too many things to do

No, but I want to get the Flapjack tattoo one day, and a close friend and I are planning to get matching parabatai rune tattoos eventually. They're kinda waiting on me for that one

Not stopping to breathe and relax when I'm having trouble regulating my emotions, sometimes I just explode and get stressed and feel like the world is out to get me and I really need to work on that

I did not have one but dressage looks so very cool ahahaha

I used to be a pessimistic and most of the time I say I'm a realistic, but honestly? I'm sick and tired of my own mind tripping me up so lately I've been trying to be optimistic no matter what, I think it's helped me a little

I feel like I'm pretty standard for a person ahaha. Mmmm, opinion has it I can imitate a cat meowing perfectly? If that counts?

Oh, absolutely, I have 13 cats. Yes, it is a little messy as you can expect, but because I spend so much time at home, they're pretty comfortable and happy, honestly

14) Do you think clowns are cute or scary?

... Annoying. I actually spent some time reflecting on why and I realize clowns always took it personally when I wouldn't find them funny and double down to try and make me laugh and I just couldn't pretend and it stressed me out 😭 Having my LOL arc moments at children parties...

15) If you could change one thing about how you look, what would it be?

It took me SO long to be okay with how I look because I used to have some pretty bad internalized racism and as my ex put it, I look, well, Mexican ahaha. They knew just looking at my face. But anyway now I'm pretty happy with my looks mostly, though I've had eyebags since I was a child and they never go away, so... honestly I would like not to have them

16) What color eyes do you have?

Dark brown/black? Obviously not pitch black but you gotta look really close to notice the separation between iris and pupil so I thiiink that counts as black?

Nah

Can soda, they are nice

I would save it, honestly

I don't think I have one? I like anywhere that has somewhere I can sit and where it can be quiet in case I run out of energy

Yeah, it comes free with the culture /j. No, yeah, I kinda do? Maybe not so passionately but I think spirits are such a soothing thought

Writing, talking to people, playing videogames and reading

Depends. In English I do, a lot. In Spanish I can't do it, I use the baby version of swears, which is fun tbh, there are studies on this

People who make everything about themselves to the detriment of others. We're all a little obsessed with ourselves, alright?Iit's healthy to be so you don't fall in the self-deprecation trap. But when you start to not leave space for others and just think about yourself, it gets annoying really fast, and it can manifest in so many ways and all of them drive me crazy ahaha. We're social creatures! Community creatures! You gotta remember your wishes and feelings don't matter more than others' so you don't start stomping all over them

25) In one word, how would you describe yourself?

Emotional as well

26) Do you believe/appreciate romance?

Yeah, sure. I think it can be a sweet thing, if it is for me varies in my head every time, but at the very least I think it can be such a beautiful thing in general

27) Favourite and least favourite food?

Favorite is a hard one... I don't have a set favorite food but I like the typical food here so much, honestly, reasons why I can't never move countries, it just makes me so happy. As for least favorite, well... I'm really picky with food due to sensory issues so... there's a lot there but I would say meat? I like meat but it can be cooked in so many ways that I can't eat that it's always safer for me to not have any if I'm not sure about what it is or how it's prepared

28) Do you believe in God?

Not really, at least not an specific one. I sort of believe in higher forces, something not understood yet, which is why I tend to default to saying "gods" in plural whenever I use expletives. I'm not thinking about specific deities but if we're talking divinity I guess I find it more sensical if it's like the forces of nature like in some cultures, instead of one thing that decides everything about life and the universe

29) What makes you happy:

Seeing my cats being silly, sharing interests with friends and being able to create in the way I want

Hope for the Flowers, by Trina Paulus. I read it as a child and it stuck to me ever since, I reread it many times.

Recommending Penfriend so hard. Or Eliza Rickman. I just love the kind of melodies and lyrics they both come up with. Penfriend particularly is a very small artist so she definitely could use the support!

36) Recommend a TV show:

Andor! It's Star Wars, but other than some general context, you don't really need to watch the entire SW catalogue of movies and shows or anything, if you have a vague notion of the Original Trilogy and watch Rogue One, you're golden. The show itself is beautifully written, and it has some very well developed themes of fascism, colonialism and racism. There's an undergoing theme of those who have the privilege to choose to fight against these awful systems in place and those for whom the option was never there because no matter how much they try to resist, they get brought back into this struggle they didn't decide. Very relevant to current events in the world, unfortunately.

37) Where are you from, and do you still live there? Where have you lived?

I'm from Mexico and yeah, I have never lived anywhere but where I am right now. I was born like 15 minutes from my house ahaha, everytime I go out I pass through the clinic where I was born.

38) Do you have any pets or animals in your life? How did you find/get them?

Oh, boy. I've had cats, a chicken (I was too little to remember that one tho), three dogs and then more cats. All the cats have been strays that sometimes bring their babies with them, Idk about the chicken, and one of the dogs was bought, but of the other two, one was about to be put down and the other was kept in awful conditions and rescued. Generally I prefer to adopt animals in need because duh

39) What's the most unusual thing you've ever eaten?

Due to the aforementioned pickiness with food, I don't think I have ever eaten anything super unusual, actually? My parents used to eat crickets but I never dared.

40) How did you 'find' fandom?

I was always in fandom ✨ Sort of. I wrote fic, drew comics and roleplayed with my siblings about the fandoms we liked, since I was very very little. Officially though I got into an anime forum when I was around 10? Which was around the time I found out the concept of fanfic and how my siblings and I weren't unique and super smart for making them ahaha

One of my cats. My hairbrush. My phone. My little Kuromi mirror. Hair cream.

My desk doubles as the place I put my care products.

42) How do you style your hair?

Now that I know how to care for my waves/curls more properly, it's either loose or I pin it with a hair clip so it doesn't get damaged. I sometimes do braids or ponytails if it has gotten dirty but it's not often
