Stories I Love (Part 2)

Again, nothing personal with the order listed here, it's mostly chronological. Tumblr doesn't like a ton of hyperlinks, so the list is in two parts. Here's Part 1.

Though, now is a good time to point out a few major gaps in this list. One, I don't care for celebrity, sports, or sweat/fart transformations very much, so that eliminates a few prolific authors. Two, some authors have much bigger websites elsewhere, like @2xskin or @takeovertales, and I haven't been consistent about favoriting works that could be found in two places. Three, a special shoutout to @piosantaibhseil's very long body swap series which would be tricky to link otherwise.

Also, a special shoutout-- I don't think my blog would have nearly as much of a footprint without @bodyswap-possession-shapeshift's valuable reblog contributions to this community. He remains one of the fastest and most consistent about showing support to all creators on his lists, and I hope he knows how much that support has been appreciated over the years.

The relay race will take place April 12th at midnight EDT and end April 14 at midnight EDT, but the time for each participant’s reveal in their time zone is in the subtext for convenience.

Now remember, this event is low pressure, so the requirement is only 500 words (or more) for fics, and at least line art for artwork.

Welcome to the HOT AND VINTAGE MOVIE STARS bracket! we are currently voting on the HOTTEST and VINTAGEST male movie stars from 1910-1970. (we will do the ladies next.) Submissions for hot vintage men are now closed, but we are accepting propaganda for those already in the bracket.

We are currently in the last rounds of the Hot & Vintage Men Tournament. The quarterfinals will be posted Sunday, February 11, and last for 24 hours; the semifinals will be posted February 12th; the final will be posted on the 13th; and the winner will be crowned February 14th (Valentine's Day). All polls—including ongoing polls, previous rounds, the various shadow brackets and fun mini polls—can be found in the #hotvintagepoll tag. Every poll in the Hot & Vintage Men Tournament is tagged with the hot man in it if you need to search for a hot man in particular.

FAQs:

“Where is [my favorite hot man]?” It depends. Have you checked all the polls in the tag? Have you done a tag search for him? If you still haven’t found him, either nobody submitted him or he did not fit the criteria of being a movie man from 1910-1970.

“Can I still submit hot men?” No, the submission window has closed. Please do not send in men you wish had made it into the bracket. I can’t do anything with those asks and they just make me sad.

“I have hot women to submit!” Amazing! I’ve posted the submission form for that bracket here. Asks submitting ladies don’t count—you need to put it in the submission form. DO NOT tag me in hot lady propaganda yet! Do not send any to my asks!

"Can you post a list of the hot women already submitted?" No, because there are already 1300+ submissions and anything I post will be out of date immediately. The form takes two minutes or less to fill out—just submit instead of asking me if you should.

“I have additional propaganda for the hot men!” Great! Send me an ask, or reblog the poll and add your propaganda to it. I don’t boost all the propaganda I see or receive, but I try to boost the best of the best.

If you’re submitting propaganda for your hot man, I don’t accept propaganda that’s from beyond the end of this tournament’s era (ie don’t send me pics of them in the 70s onwards). I also don’t accept them acting in TV shows unless it’s clearly a cameo where they’re playing themselves. I try to avoid extremely long posts, so please don't send me every picture of your hot man you have in one ask. I love being tagged in gifsets and fancams, and I like boosting propaganda that tells us why your hot man is so special :)

I don’t post or boost negative propaganda about any hot man or woman. If you really hate that a certain hot man is winning, send me positive propaganda for their hot opponent. If you think a hot man or woman shouldn’t even be included in the tournaments because of scummy things they did in their lifetime, please read my take on it here.

If I see repetitive, trolling, and/or bigoted remarks in the comments, I may block you from this bracket. If you want to point out a hot man’s flaws or misdemeanors, that’s fine, but if I see consistent bad-faith trolling, you will be blocked.

blackestglass is running the fourth annual Chromatic Characters Podfic Anthology, which collects podfics of stories of less than 1500 words and center characters of color. This year's optional theme is "solidarity" and the due date for submissions is September 12th; they are encouraging authors who'd like to write a story for the anthology to team up with a podficcer by commenting at the info post. “Do you think Santa will come tonight?” Grace asked both Bucky and I as we settled her into bed, bringing the blanket up to her chest. We’ve been trying to get her to bed for the last hour, but she’s been too excited to sleep. “Of course he will, but he won’t come if you’re awake.”

“That’s what Uncle Steve told me.” She smiled. “Well your Uncle Steve is right.” Bucky chuckled, grabbing her little goat stuffie and tucking it in next to her. “Do you think he got my letter?”

I pushed her hair back away from her forehead and nodded. “I’m sure he did, baby.”

“Do you think I can try and stay up to see him?” Bucky and I chuckled, shaking our heads. “Sweetheart, I just told you that he won’t come if you’re awake.”

“But I could hide and he won’t know! I’m really good at hide and seek!”

“Grace, he’ll know. You wanna know how?” She excitedly nodded her head as Bucky continued. “He… he has a magical crystal ball and when he looks at it, he can always tell if you’re naughty or nice. Same way he can tell if you’re sleeping or not. If he sees that you’re awake, he won’t come.”

“Really?” He nodded as she pondered this new information. “So you gotta go to sleep, little missy, if you want him to bring you presents.” She paused for a moment before nodding and getting herself comfortable. “There ya go.” Bucky smiled while leaning on and kissing her forehead. “Goodnight, sweetheart.”

“Goodnight, daddy.”

I kissed the top of her head and playfully pinched her nose. “We’ll see you in the morning, munchkin. We love you.”

“I love you too.” She yawned as Bucky and I started making our way to her bedroom door. We both looked back at our daughter and saw that she had turned on her side. I turned off the light and walked out, Bucky closing the door behind us.

We walked back towards the living room and sat down on the couch. We sat in silence for a moment, just looking at the scene in front of us. The tree beautifully decorated, the soft Christmas lights softly blinking and the cookies and milk seated on top of our coffee table.

Bucky sat up straight and scooted closer to the table, reaching for a cookie. He grabbed one and looked back at me, a sheepish smile on his features as he held it up to his mouth.

“What? Santa has to eat the cookies.” I smiled and reached forward, grabbing one and lifting it up to my mouth. “Well, I can’t just leave it all to you.”

We both took a bite of our cookies and softly laughed to ourselves. “When should we put the presents under the tree?”

“We’ll put them there in a bit. I’m in my happy place right now, so…”

I laughed and shook my head. He reached for the glass of milk and brought it up to his lips, taking a few gulps. “I can’t wait for Grace to see what Santa brought her.” I chuckled as Bucky nodded his head. “Oh yeah, Santa went all out this year.”

“Did he now?”

“Mhmm..”

“… Did Tony pitch in?”

“Yeah, Tony might’ve helped Santa this year with certain things..” He scratched the back of his head as I let out a laugh. I slumped back on the couch, bringing my knees up to my chest as he looked at me. His mouth stuffed with cookies and beard sprinkled with the crumbs.

Everything just seemed absolutely perfect. Our daughter was sound asleep in her bedroom and here we are, eating Santa’s cookies and getting ready to put presents under the tree for our little girl. I don’t know how to explain it.

It just feels like we made it.

“What?”

I shook my head, smiling. “Nothin’. I’m just really happy.”

Join us April 12th and 13th for another chapter of non-stop artwork and fics that tell the beautiful stories of our favorite duo!

♥༻ What is the Harringrove Relay Race? 

A relay race is an event where every hour (or more, or less, depending on the number of participants), a creator reveals their work at an assigned time, and then “passes the baton” by introducing the next creator in line to reveal their work. 

This particular event will last for 48 hours nonstop until all the works have been revealed.

After the relay race, the artists and authors will receive a PDF memory book of all the works contributed to the race, as a thank-you for taking part.

April 12th and 13th on Tumblr. All works will be shared under the #harringrove relay race tag.

Artists and authors are free to reveal their works on other platforms as long as it is at their assigned time.
