DTWID-LX.wad: Doom the Way id Did - The Lost Episodes E4M2: Demonic Halls (-1372, 899, -176) Author: Various Date: 2016-03-20 Description: Six episodes of classic Doom maps, originally candidates for last year's "Doom the Way Id Did", arranged in an episodic format. DTWID was a long but fruitful journey, with somewhere around a hundred map submissions in total. Given the strictness of the rules, most of the maps cut were not done so for reasons of quality. On their own they're quite solid maps, deserving their own showcase. This collection, while not 100% complete, contains the vast majority of submissions to the project. Episodes 1-3 are an alternate take on the idea of Doom the Way Id Did, three sets of maps arranged to mimic id's original episodic styles. Several maps in these sets were very close contenders to the main project, excluded only because of withdrawals or episode length limits. You may be hard- pressed to find a difference in quality! Episode 4 follows partially in the same vein, with several maps that mimic the style of id's "Thy Flesh Consumed" and hell-themed levels filling out the rest of the roster. Episode 5, "Base Instinct", is a "bonus" episode of E1/E2-style maps, and can be thought of as an alternate take on the Phobos / Deimos story. The episode can be accessed in the main game menu with either ZDoom or Eternity. For vanilla or other ports, running DTWID-E5.wad will load E5's maps in place of E1's. Episode 6, "The Final Gate", is a ZEternity- exclusive "Boss Rush" episode consisting of E*M8 candidates. No separate wad is provided, as MAPINFO is required to make the boss exits work, though the individual maps are vanilla compatible for those willing to put the maps in the correct slots.

This year's pumpkin is Guilmon! :D
All in all about 3.5 hours to make, about 15 minutes tops to draw the outline right on the pumpkin, no test-sketching.
I've never drawn a guilmon before lol
(For some reason my art always improves when I carve pumpkins...?)

My #1 post of 2022
Something that fully healthy people don't really seem to understand about chronic health issues is what running on an energy deficit is like long-term.  It's more exhausting than you can possibly imagine if you haven't experienced it.
How does that work? Well, it's sort of like this. Everybody has a certain amount of energy.  When you're healthy and well-rested, you feel pretty good.  There are artificial boosters that give you more energy, too.  You can do all sorts of stuff.
When you get tired, you can still do some stuff but you can't do as much and what you can do might suffer from lack of energy. Except that's essentially your every day existence with chronic health issues.  You go to sleep tired, and wake up tired--sometimes more tired!
Your energy levels rarely reach "full"--that is, there's few points where you are in a "well rested" state where you feel pretty good and have "normal" levels of energy.  You're *always* operating in "low battery" mode rather than being fully charged, and you drain *fast*.
This makes doing basic tasks much harder than need be--things that drain a little energy you notice a hell of a lot more when you're already dead tired than when you're well-rested.  Like how when your phone drops from 10% to 9% you notice more than from 100% to 99%.
You can do some stuff--but you have an upper limit of what you can do that's a lot lower than other people. And functioning while running against a deficit at all times means a *lot* of careful, conservative planning to husband your strength for when you need it most.
It means sometimes spending 30 minutes deliberating what you should buy when you reach the store because you're trying to guess "will I have the energy to prepare this food after shopping?  Will I later this week?"  You hedge your bets when you can.
It means skipping out on a lot of stuff you'd otherwise love to do because you just can't be sure you'll have the energy to do it without landing yourself in bed for the next 3 days by pushing yourself to collapse. It's depressing. And it's exhausting.
EDIT: This post is for people with physical AND mental health causes for their fatigue and exhaustion, by the way! I know there are posts that really are meant only for one or the other and it's rude to hijack them, but if you find this resonates with you then you're welcome to it regardless of the cause!

Episode 176 : It's Goin' Down...
"I AM"
- Chuck D
Hope you've had a good start to 2024! While it's been a bit bumpy over here, the selection on the first episode of the year is strong from start to finish. If you know every single one of these tracks already...we should probably have a chat as you clearly have an ear for the good stuff!
Mastodon : @[email protected]
Twitch : @airadam13
Playlist/Notes
Organized Noize ft. Big Boi, Big Rube, Sleepy Brown, and Cee-Lo : We The Ones
A very fortunate find during a recent digging expedition, I didn't even know that the "Organized Noize EP" existed until I had it in my hands. Looking around on Discogs, it seems that it was a limited release in 2017 of 500 copies, on fiery orange vinyl and with a fantastic cover. Apparently twenty years in the making - probably because the production team behind OutKast, Goodie Mob, and more were kind of busy - it's a quality seven-song collection that you can now also get digitally! I heard a few seconds of this track at the listening post and it was the one that convinced me to buy the record, a musically-stirring and always-relevant and timely call to stand up and fight against oppression.
Orbital : Adnan's
This industrial-sounding track from the 1996 "In Sides" album was an extended version of a song they contributed to the 1995 "War Child" charity LP, and was named after a young boy who was killed by a missile during the war in the former Yugoslavia. Paul Hartnoll of Orbital broke this, and the rest of the album, down in a way only one of the creators could - so I'll link you to his own words.
Sepalot ft. Blu : Surrender
I've heard the instrumental of this many a time and had actually forgotten that there even was a vocal version! The beat went down well on the most recent #BeatsOnly show on my Twitch channel, so I thought I'd bring it out on this episode. The angular production from German producer Sepalot lurches, twitches, and squelches, with Blu fittingly being a bit more aggro lyrically than you might have expected from some of his better-known work. I have this on the B-side of a 12" headed up by "She Likes Me" with Frank Nitty, but you can also find it on the 2014 "Red Handed" LP.
Jigmastas ft. Shabaam Saadique : Too Ill
Does what it says on the tin! DJ Spinna on production on this track with the dramatic backing, courtesy of a well-known old TV show sample, while the processing on the vocals makes it sound like weak MCs are being admonished over the phone! By the way, the spelling of Shabaam's name is different than what I've seen on previous releases, but as it's written this way on this album ("Resurgence") I'm taking that as being correct unless/until I find out otherwise.
Public Enemy : Louder Than A Bomb
A classic from what is often said to be the greatest Hip-Hop album of all time, "It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back" (lot of text to write on a cassette label btw). Those who follow me know I'll sometimes refer to the more grimy records as "not calling for the building of a new nation or anything" but this track literally does! Chuck D will always be the first name that comes to mind when pro-Black, politically-driven Hip-Hop is mentioned, and this is just one of his outstanding vocal performances. Bomb Squad on production of course, with a hard-hitting track that would dominate most other MCs, even now. Sonically, you might notice that the sound is busy but not "thick" - if it was made nowadays, I suspect it'd be mixed with a lot more bass, not to mention built with more high-fidelity samplers. Would that have been "better"? Hard to say, but this is revolutionary in all senses regardless.
Bumpy Knuckles & DJ Premier : B.A.P. (Bumpy and Premier)
For those of more gentle dispositions, you may as well skip to the next track! Otherwise, this is quintessential boom-bap rawness, courtesy of DJ Premier - one of the finest exponents of the style - and fellow Gang Starr Foundation MC Bumpy Knuckles. Wicked track from the "KoleXXXion" LP, where Bumpy starts each verse with the same four bars, before raining fire on snakes, suckers, and studio gangstas over the rugged beat. No sir, Bumpy did not fall off, not even a little.
Stro Elliot : Miles Funk
I may have been late getting on the Stro Elliot train, only hearing his stuff in the last three years or so, but now I'm firmly on board and settled with a book and some snacks. The drums are cracking and merciless on this track from his 2016 eponymous LP, and they lead the way for the bassline and funky guitar to do what they do. Definitely check the album - it's really excellent work.
Dubbul O & Jointhedots : Life:Mics
A great new Manchester release to open the year! You should already know that Dubbul O is one of my favourite MCs from any coast or territory, while the excellent Jointhedots have been holding it down in fine style since most of the members were part of the best-known lineup of The Mouse Outfit. The most special feature on this track is the guitar of the much-missed Phil Ratcliffe, who sadly passed away in 2022, and whose family will continue to benefit from any posthumous releases. Coming together over the peak of the COVID restrictions, this track started when bassist/bandleader/producer Defty sent beats around Manchester for musicians to add their own touches to. As well as Phil Ratcliffe, the flautist Dr Claire Press got busy on here - you may remember her memorable work alongside Dubbul O again on "Never Get Enough" all the way back in 2012! Flavourful and polished music as always from this collective, and worthy of your support.
New Sector Movements ft. Allysha Joy : These Times
Neither of these artists were on my radar previously, so it was a big bonus when First Word Records included this cut on the "Two Syllables Volume Twenty" compilation! As it turns out, New Sector Movements is actually an alias of IG Culture, a UK stalwart respected for his work as part of Dodge City Productions, and of course he shows the deft touch of a veteran on the music here. The vocals are carried by the powerful voice of Australian songstress Allysha Joy, who started singing as a youngster in the church and you can hear the influence very much still with her! This track in full is actually about six minutes long, so if you like what you're hearing, you know what to do...
Common : The Movement
I'll have you know that I did actually mix this in bang-on, but J Dilla decided to go all the way weird with the timing and drum placement at the start, to the point I almost re-ripped the tune from the "2K6 : The Tracks" CD to be sure! This one had somehow escaped me on first listen, but it's got that electronic sound that was increasingly a feature of Dilla's late work, with that edginess contrasting with Common's smooth and familiar voice.
Actual Proof ft. TP : Show You The Way
North Carolina in the house, with Actual Proof (Enigma and Sundown) linking with guest TP (who I don't know much about) for a 9th Wonder-produced track that sounds very different than the intro might lead you to expect. Lyrically, in places it almost comes off as a rougher, less civilised take on "Mind Sex" by dead prez, blended with some of that LL Cool J - in attitude, if not in flow! Track down the 2012 "Black Boy Radio" LP for this one.
Mecca:83, Buscrates, and J Vibes : Amber Hue
Such warm vibes emanate from this 2019 composition, with Macclesfield, Pittsburgh, and Aarhus (Denmark) in collaboration. I don't know who did what, but the final result is a thing of beauty!
Tall Black Guy, Craig Mack : Flavor In Ya Ear Remix
The original beat by Easy Mo Bee is one of the greatest in Hip-Hop history in my opinion, so it takes a brave man to put his production in its place - and right here, Tall Black Guy is that man! Tough drums and a relatively simple bassline provide the structure for some spaced-out touches and soul vocal sampling to undergird TBG's take on one of the all-time great posse cuts.
1773 & Strange Soul Music : Dialed In
Manchester's Strange Soul Music is a fearsome producer, the man no-one wanted to face in last year's WORKINONIT beat battle! He's been putting in that work for years and this is from one of his latest releases, "The Strange Soul Project" a seven-track collaboration with Chicago MCs Jay Nagoma and Wisdm Uno. Themed around a method of internet access that might be unfamiliar to the younger listeners, this is a brief, but strong, opener to the project.
Clear Soul Forces : Nine 5ive
It's a shame that the 2020 "ForcesWithYou" LP is ostensibly the last from this Detroit crew - their stuff has always been energetically high-quality. Ilajide on the beat of course, while on the mic, CSF reference everything/one from Busta Rhymes to Mortal Kombat via George Washington Carver in a track that lasts well under three minutes. May the force be with them, indeed.
Heather B : Steady Rockin'
Straight-ahead Hip-Hop, with the commanding voice and bars of Heather B over the boom-bap production of DJ Premier. Vocalist Twyla adds a little sugar to the hook, but the rest of this track from 2002's "Eternal Affairs" is pretty much as stripped-down as you can get.
Khrysis : The Devil Wears Designer (Instrumental)
North Carolina representing again here, with a groove borrowing clearly from a classic soul record on this instrumental from "The Hour Of Khrysis".
DJ 2-Tone Jones ft. Prince Po, Asheru, Joe.D and yU : Not Down
I've always thought that one of the most important inflection points in the culture was when our ability to self-police was countered by the epithet "playa hater", which nowadays is more likely to take the form of "but he getting the bag tho". This call to arms from the "Contraband From India" LP features real MCs with real commitment letting us know that the leeches, the culture vultures, exploitative corporate interests of various shapes, and everyone else taking away from the culture rather than adding on need to be ejected. The production is not minimal as such, but well-spaced, with the sparse drum pattern and Indian string samples avoiding a situation where the instrumental ends up fighting the MCs for the spotlight, which is critical when what they're saying is of actual importance.
Please remember to support the artists you like! The purpose of putting the podcast out and providing the full tracklist is to try and give some light, so do use the songs on each episode as a starting point to search out more material. If you have Spotify in your country it's a great way to explore, but otherwise there's always Youtube and the like. Seeing your favourite artists live is the best way to put money in their pockets, and buy the vinyl/CDs/downloads of the stuff you like the most!
Check out this episode!

Translator Notes:
*Shooting games as in the light guns you find in old arcades… the classic game aesthetic is beautiful I know ;-; 💛
**Die cutting (型抜き) has two (cute af) potential meanings. One is more hobby crafting and how you get those cutouts in scrapbooks and stuff (there are more industrial versions for mass producing things, but Niou is 15; he's not doing that lmao) The second is where you carve candy molds from stencils and the like, and they're cute af. It started as a festival event, but it's also done to make cute food lol. The candy one is usually written as カタヌキ, but when fake shopping for supplies online, it still came up a lot, so idk which one it is for sure.
***Kiko's basically saying he was surprised Niou's a Japan rep bc he thought he was a magician by trade lmao

In depth explanation with Hong Kong 먹튀검증사이트목록
Caribbean Stud Poker is a gripping casino game based on the classic game of poker. The game’s popularity has been partially fuelled by its simple rules, fair odds along with its generous payouts. Perhaps the most attractive feature of this game is the fact that players can choose to place a progressive side bet.  This pays 176-for-1, for a house edge of 7.46%. For all three wagers, the order in which the numbers are hit does not matter. Whenever a seven is hit, including on the come out roll, all bonus bets lose, the bonus board is reset, and new bonus bets may be placed. The winning player collects from each other player the value of the cards remaining in that player’s hand as follows: Consider using the casino’s pre-commitment facility to limit how much time or money you spend gambling.
Bingo has gone beyond a fundraising role and is often featured in bars and nightclubs as a social and entertainment event, attracting a loyal following of regular players. https://www.washingtonpost.com/newssearch/?query=스포츠중계 The first reference to the card game dates close to the 9th century, when the Collection of Miscellanea at Duyang, written by Su E , refers to the family of Princess Tongchang's spouse as the Wei clan of the Tang Dynasty (618–907 AD) who were playing the "leaf game" in 868. There’s no bluffing so don’t worry about bringing your ‘poker face’ to the table. Each player at the table along with the dealer is dealt five cards. And with the dealer needing an ace and a king to qualify, players don’t need to be poker whizzes to join the thrills at our tables. If you entered the Jackpot by placing your side bet and your hand qualifies for a payout, you win. The amount you win will be appropriate to your hand regardless of the strength of the Dealer’s hand.
Thus from the management’s perspective, the “price” it charges is the 10 percent it expects to collect from gamblers over time. The first American-manufactured (French) deck with this innovation was the Saladee's Patent, printed by Samuel Hart in 1864. In 1870, he and his cousins at Lawrence & Cohen followed up with the Squeezers, the first cards with indices that had a large diffusion. Most Americans think of card decks as 52 cards in four suits—hearts, diamonds, spades, and clubs. The exact percentage of casino patrons who have a gambling “problem” is not known.
Each segment is associated with a number. The wheel is spun by a dealer, and the winning segment is indicated by a pointer mounted on a flexible piece of rubber or leather, which also rubs against the pins to impart friction and slow the wheel down. Should the player stop the wheel, the segment at the top is the winner. Slot machines and gaming tables are arranged in a maze-like fashion so that wandering patrons are continuously enticed by more gambling options. In addition, there are some Montana establishments (such as some truck stops) that do not possess "on-sale" licenses but hold "grandfather" licenses allowing them to operate gaming machines.Among the most popular games in casinos are video poker games. Pull up a chair and learn How to Play Video Poker.
Tumblr media
Sometimes a cut card is used. These guides contain a lot more than just the rules, too. The basic formula for the player's expected loss combines the amount of time played, the number of hands per hour, the average bet, and the house percentage. The Lowe-produced Bingo game had two versions, a 12-card set for $1.00 and a $2.00 set with 24 cards.

Procedures are in place to monitor their actions at the table so every attempt is made to reduce the risk of cheating taking place. The dealer continues to deal from the shoe until coming to the plastic insert card, which indicates that it is time to reshuffle.
Therefore, not all players have equal chances to win or equal payoffs. For example, in traditional poker players bank their own games. On slots or video poker, the denomination is either painted on the machine's glass or displayed on a video screen.Gambling, the betting or staking of something of value, with consciousness of risk and hope of gain, on the outcome of a game, a contest, or an uncertain event whose result may be determined by chance or accident or have an unexpected result by reason of the bettor’s miscalculation.
This money should not be needed for basic living expenses, such as food etc. The minimum paying hand is a pair of tens, rather than a pair of Jacks. Strategy is similar between the two games, in spite of the very different full house and flush payouts. Casino design—regarded as a psychological exercise—is an intricate process that involves optimising floor plan, décor and atmospherics to encourage gambling. 우리카지노계열 Edward O. Kendall Jenner expands her empire in sunglow bikini
Kendall Jenner is proving she’s more than just a pretty face by launching yet another aspect of her business career. The 25-year-old supermodel, making 2021 headlines for the launch of her now-sold-out 818 Tequila brand, is fresh from the news that she’s partnered up for a clothing collab, with photos of the star this week shouting out her About You items.
Kendall, who tends to make headlines for modeling other peoples’ designs, now calls a total of 11 items her own, and she chose the skimpiest look of all to break the news to her 176 million Instagram followers. Posting with a gorgeous bikini snap, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star threw out her all-American charm, with over 5 million likes now left.
Kendall Jenner stuns in brand debut
Scroll for the photos. Kendall, whose 2021 gigs have included her new ambassador role with celebrity-adored gym brand Alo Yoga, did include some sporty looks as she shouted out #KENDALLforABOUTYOU, but the California native knew how to get fans with her opening swimwear shot.
Posing against a white wall and all sun-drenched, the catwalk queen rocked a sunglow orange string bikini, going high-waisted and leggy as she sent out a warm smile, tousled brown hair and a peep at her gym-honed arms.
Anyone swiping right then saw Kendall sitting on a skateboard while in cycling shorts and a loose white tee. A caption read: “Discover my exclusive @aboutyou styles. sale starting Sunday July 25th, only available for 72 hours! #KENDALLforABOUTYOU”
The collection comes with a twist, though, one marketing genius and Yeezy boss Kanye West has been known to employ. With only 72 hours to shop the merch, it’s heavy on the limited edition vibes – likely not an issue for the girl whose family members can easily net millions in minutes from the likes of SKIMS and Kylie Cosmetics.
“On-the-go
Tumblr media
Start the hot summer days right with these comfy basics inspired by @kendalljenner. In only four days you can shop the relaxed classics. Starting on Sunday, July 25 at 00:00 (CET) for 72 hours,” the brand alerted fans.
Kendall is herself enjoying immense success as 818 sells out – the $59.99 bottles of hand-crafted Mexican tequila have also been rolling out beyond the initial California-only locations. February marked Jenner announcing her brand, although with the buzz came backlash as the star faced cultural appropriation comments.

“Turn, Return”
What’s the first thing you think about when you hear the phrase “abstract Chinese art”? Is it Wang Dongling’s gestural calligraphy? Is it Zhang Huan covering himself in fish oil and honey and letting bugs crawl over his body? Or maybe it’s more recent, Wang Tiande’s paintings under burned paper, allowing for a modified and limited viewing of classically styled Chinese art. Whatever you think of, the mantra is always the same. Form over content. Process over product. And they’re right, borrowing from a Daoist tradition that is so ziran, so natural. Do what you’ve practiced, do what feels right and don’t force a thing that doesn’t need to be forced. It’s funny though—the very specificity that these artists choose not to rely on becomes in itself disclosive. The practiced naturalness of their movements tell us about their pasts, broadly and in detail. In the aggressive wrist flicks that send paint flying to spatter onto canvases. In the patient drips onto canvas as they envision one here, three there, a little on that side, and not so much in the third-quarter. In the massive strokes that were their childhoods, their first marriages, their mother’s words…it all comes through, somehow. And as Eric Liu says, “We’re all better off…when we’re all better off”.

Major US Financial Firm Robinhood to Offer Bitcoin And Ethereum Trading
Stock trading app provider Robinhood — which was founded in 2013 in an attempt to democratize stock trading — is hopping on the cryptocurrency trading bandwagon. The company announced Thursday that it has plans to roll out trading services for Bitcoin and Ethereum via its mobile app in the coming month. To start with, the service will only be offered to users in California, Massachusetts, Missouri, Montana and New Hampshire, but more states are set to follow.
While, initially, Robinhood users will only have access to Bitcoin and Ethereum trading, the company will permit up to 16 different cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin and Ethereum included) to be added to a “watchlist,” a feature which will permit users to monitor market data, read related news, and create price alerts. The other coins that will be available on the watchlist are Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Ripple, Ethereum Classic, Zcash, Monero, Dash, Stellar, Qtum, Bitcoin Gold, OmiseGo, NEO, Lisk, and Dogecoin.
Free trading
It is important to acknowledge that the company — which is regulated in the U.S. by the SEC and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority — plans to offer its crypto-trading service for free. Further, it promises instant transfers on cryptocurrency purchases for amounts of $1,000 or less, which is a significant improvement on the time it usually takes for investors to buy cryptocurrencies. Robinhood will have no investment minimums or maximums, and no withdrawal limits, and the start-up will hold most of the digital coins offline in cold storage, making it much more difficult for hackers to steal the coins.
Offering the service for free could seem risky. But, the company hopes to attract investors from the $550 billion cryptocurrency industry to the platform and its products, which already provide substantial revenue streams. Specifically, the firm charges for a premium service called Robinhood Gold that enables margin trading and after-hours trading. The company also generates revenue by collecting interest on cash and securities in user accounts similar to a traditional bank.
Having raised a total of $176 million in venture capital, this new crypto functionality is in line with the company’s push to add more products to its offering. Last month, the firm rolled out options trading, and a month earlier it added a web-based platform to its mobile services. But the move isn’t just about luring cryptocurrency enthusiasts to its traditional products, it’s also about giving users normally focused on traditional investment vehicles exposure to cryptocurrencies. The firm recently crossed 3 million accounts and $100 billion in total transacted volume.

The Queen Mary 2. Gloriously Remastered And Back At Sea.
Tumblr media
The worlds favourite ocean liner, the magnificent Queen Mary 2, was docked at the Cape Town Cruise Terminal for a couple of days, and I was lucky enough to enjoy a tour and lunch onboard.
Purpose built to do the trans-Atlantic crossing, the Cunard Line’s Queen Mary 2 has a deeper reinforced hull to help her cut through rougher weather at great speed. Unlike the cruise liners who spend most of their time at a leisurely pace on the Mediterranean or Caribbean seas, this beauty can be tough, and is able to push forward at a speed of over 30 knots, making it possible to travel from South Hampton to New York in just 5 days.
Her square shaped stern gives better hydrodynamic efficiency, says Steven Payne, the ship’s designer. Her lifeboats are high above the water line, so even a rogue wave can’t hurt them. And he shaped her bridge to protect passenger decks. The balconies are so high up that they are certainly not vulnerable – protected forward by the superstructure front, within the hull. And most of all besides the technical genius that she is, the QM2 is built for comfort and style.
After 14 years at sea, this magnificent ocean liner recently took a 90 days break in Germany for some essential remastering and upgrades. Taking cognisance of guest’s feedback, the changes included the additional of more single rooms, a fresh look at colour and refurb of the state rooms and restaurants.
The refurbishment, which is the biggest makeover Cunard has witnessed in its 176 year history, cost in the region of £90 million, and included the addition of 6000 pieces of new furniture and 4000 pieces of art to the cruise ship's rooms. It is said that 5200 men and women worked over a million hours to overhaul her machinery, refresh the exterior of the ship and transform her reception rooms, dining areas and cabins.

One of the recently remastered states rooms. The natural light capturing the naval blues and white couches, inspired nooks enhanced by modernistic lighting. You'd want to spend much time here, cocktail or coffee in hand, watching the ocean go by.

Passages are lined with lush red swivel chairs to take in the views from.

The Grand Lobby with it’s centre flower piece and symmetrical staircases, is where tours are booked and the Purser’s office is found.
Tumblr media
More opulence, as one walks from one lounge to the next.
In her Queens Room is the largest dance floor at sea. Illuminations is a luxury 3D cinema, there’s a planetarium and a classical music venue and if you fancy a little shopping, there are some fine boutiques centred around the ship’s magnificent Grand Lobby, which provide a range of products from tempting souvenirs and gifts to exquisite jewellery and designer clothing.

The Art Gallery to appease any art collector.

There are walls of painting of famous fold who have take journeys on the Queen Mary 2, and its as though their spirits still live on in the lounges and on the dance floors.

The library is found at the helm and offers natural light and comfy reading chairs next to the windows, with views towards the ocean and is home to 10000 books.

One of the five swimming pools onboard.
About the Queen Mary 2.
The winter garden has been magnificently transformed into the Carinthia Lounge room. There’s a sherry bar with one bottle that dates from 1875, to some current brands and vintages. 1310 luxurious staterooms comprise standard cabins, penthouses and deluxe apartments complete with butler and concierge services and, in some instances, private elevators and gyms.
There’s a 1000 seater state-of-the-art theatre, the largest library at sea with 10 000 books, a 360-degree promenade deck, casino, traditional British pub, ballroom, nightclub, art gallery, five swimming pools and a 3D cinema that morphs into the first at-sea planetarium, making for no shortage of leisure options.
Eleven restaurants have 150 chefs showcasing 343 wine labels, and offering passengers menus that range from healthy to hearty, light to haute cuisine and an English high tea. The smoke their own meat, bake their own bread and from a supplier point of view are very meticulous. Fresh produce, wine, meat and flowers arrived whilst they were in Cape Town, enough to see the guests through to Sydney. The kitchen caters for all dietary requirements, from halaal to vegetarian.
A full time florist onboard and a team of 30 assistants sees to the fresh flower bouquets on each table, in each cabin, lobby and lounge. There is no class grading on the QM2 and the public areas are accessible to all guests, whether you’s in a small cabin or a suite.
The ship also has a very impressive green policy and allows nothing but a limited amount of finely processed food waste to go overboard. All else is sorted and collected, for disposal each time they arrive on shore. Including grey water. They process their own drinking water too.
A look at the remastering.
All 172 Grills suites have received a comprehensive restyling and have been reconfigured to maximise space.  The Grills dining experience has been elevated and the two Grill restaurants have been redesigned to offer more table size options and space.
The King’s Court buffet has been redesigned to create a more open and central buffet area. The Carinthia Lounge – QM2’s Winter Garden – is now unrecognisable as it has been reconfigured into a refined, airy and versatile new venue.  The Verandah replaces the Todd English restaurant.
Exactly 80 years after the first Cunard Verandah Grill went to sea on Queen Mary, the latest incarnation of The Verandah concept is now available on board Queen Mary 2 and offers contemporary premium French cuisine.
The Queen Mary 2 fun facts.
- She is four football fields in length – a total of 345 metres - She is equal to the height of a 23-storey building with 17 decks that tower 200 feet above the waterline - She covers an area of 3.5 acres - Her whistle is audible for ten miles - Her speed of 29.5 knots is double the speed of a Caribbean cruise ship and nearly three times the speed of a blue whale - She’s constructed from some 300,000 pieces of steel; her hull is made up of 94 steel blocks and weighs 50,000 tons (more than a school of 330 blue whales). The QM2 gross weight is 151,400 tons. - She carries 343 different wines on board with annual wine sales estimated at around 230 000 bottles. - In total over one year, passengers will consume 38,000 lbs of smoked salmon, 346,000 gallons of fruit juice, 249,000 lbs of potatoes and 420,000 packets of breakfast cereal.  Excluding wine, the QM2 serves 1.5 million drinks per annum. - There are 1310 staterooms in total of which 955 (73%) cabins feature balconies. - The maximum capacity is 3090 passengers, with a staff 1290 staff members, which explains the high level of detail that those on board experience.
A voyage on the Queen Mary 2 is certain to create unforgettable memories. This particular cruise journey continues onwards to Port Elizabeth, Mauritius, Reunion and culminates in Australia in April. This will be the first stop on her world cruise following her remastering.
Tumblr media
Don’t be thinking that a trip onboard is out of your reach, a 7 day cruise can cost as little as R30000pp all inclusive. Or you could save up for the 118 around the world life altering experience. Packages include an onboard spend for meals and drink, and you can top up if needed.
Tumblr media
This route has them sweeping over the Indian Ocean on a 16-night cruise. After Cape Town, the QM2 will pause for the game reserves of Port Elizabeth before touching down in Reunion, with its rugged, volcanic interior - then on to beach-fringed Mauritius. Eight days later, historic Fremantle will welcome them to Australia. Here’s a look at pricing should you hope for a similar experience.

Thank you to Wired Communications for the invitation to join you for a tour and delicious lunch onboard
