my term paper written in 2018 (how ND games were made and why they will never be made that way again)
hello friends, I am going to be sharing portions of a paper i wrote way back in 2018 for a college class. in it, i was researching exactly how the ND games were made, and why they would not be made that way anymore.
if you have any interest in the behind the scenes of how her interactive made their games and my theories as to why our evil overlord penny milliken made such drastic changes to the process, read on!
warning that i am splicing portions of this paper together, so you don't have to read my ramblings about the history of nancy and basic gameplay mechanics:
Use of C++, DirectX, and Bink Video
Upon completion of each game, the player can view the game’s credits. HeR states that each game was developed using C++ and DirectX, as well as Bink Video later on.
C++
C++ is a general-purpose programming language. This means that many things can be done with it, gaming programming included. It is a compiled language, which Jack Copeland explains as the “process of converting a table of instructions into a standard description or a description number” (Copeland 12). This means that written code is broken down into a set of numbers that the computer can then understand. C++ first appeared in 1985 and was first standardized in 1998. This allowed programmers to use the language more widely. It is no coincidence that 1998 is also the year that the first Nancy Drew game was released.
C++ Libraries
When there is a monetary investment to make a computer game, there are more people using and working on whatever programming language they are using. Because there was such an interest in making games in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s, there was essentially a “boom” in how much C++ and other languages were being used. With that many people using the language, they collectively added on to the language to make it simpler to use. This process ends up creating what is called “libraries.” For example:
If a programmer wants to make a function to add one, they must write out the code that does that (let’s say approximately three lines of code). To make this process faster, the programmer can define a symbol, such as + to mean add. Now, when the programmer types “+”, the language knows that equals the three lines of code previously mentioned, as opposed to typing out those three lines of code each time the programmer wants to add. This can be done for all sorts of symbols and phrases, and when they are all put together, they are called a “package” or “library.”
Libraries can be shared with other programmers, which allows everyone to do much more with the language much faster. The more libraries there are, the more that can be done with the language.
Because of the interest in the gaming industry in the early 2000’s, more people were being paid to use programming languages. This caused a fast increase in the ability of programming. This helps to explain how HeR was able to go from jerky, bobble-headed graphics in 1999 to much more fluid and realistic movements in 2003.
Microsoft DirectX
DirectX is a collection of application programming interfaces (APIs) for tasks related to multimedia, especially video game programming, on Microsoft platforms. Among many others, these APIs include Direct3D (allows the user to draw 3D graphics and render 3D animation), DirectDraw (accelerates the rendering of graphics), and DirectMusic (allows interactive control over music and sound effects). This software is crucial for the development of many games, as it includes many services that would otherwise require multiple programs to put together (which would not only take more time but also more money, which is important to consider in a small company like HeR).
Bink Video
According to the credits which I have painstakingly looked through for each game, HeR started using Bink Video in game 7, Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake (2002). Bink is a file format (.bik) developed by RAD Game Tools. This file format has to do with how much data is sent in a package to the Graphical User Interface (GUI). (The GUI essentially means that the computer user interacts with representational graphics rather than plain text. For example, we understand that a plain drawing of a person’s head and shoulders means “user.”) Bink Video structures the data sent in a package so that when it reaches the Central Processing Unit (CPU), it is processed more efficiently. This allows for more data to be transferred per second, making graphics and video look more seamless and natural. Bink Video also allows for more video sequences to be possible in a game.
Use of TransGaming Inc.
Sea of Darkness is the only title that credits a company called TransGaming Inc, though I’m pretty sure they’ve been using it for every Mac release, starting in 2010. TransGaming created a technology called Cider that allowed video game developers to run games designed for Windows on Mac OS X (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Findev). As one can imagine, this was an incredibly helpful piece of software that allowed for HeR to start releasing games on Mac platforms. This was a smart way for them to increase their market.
In 2015, a portion of TransGaming was acquired by NVIDIA, and in 2016, TransGaming changed its business focus from technology to real estate financing. Though it is somewhat difficult to determine which of its formal products are still available, it can be assumed that they will not be developing anything else technology-based from 2016 on.
Though it is entirely possible that there is other software available for converting Microsoft based games to Mac platforms, the loss of TransGaming still has large consequences. For a relatively small company like Her Interactive, hiring an entire team to convert the game for Mac systems was a big deal (I know they did this because it is in the credits of SEA which you can see at the end of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q0gAzD7Q09Y). Without this service, HeR loses a large portion of their customers.
Switch to Unity
Unity is a game engine that is designed to work across 27 platforms, including Windows, Mac, iOS, Playstation, Xbox, Wii, and multiple Virtual Reality systems. The engine itself is written in C++, though the user of the software writes code in C#, JavaScript (also called UnityScript), or less commonly Boo. Its initial release took place in 2005, with a stable release in 2017 and another in March of 2018. Some of the most popular games released using Unity include Pokemon Go for iOS in 2016 and Cuphead in 2017.
HeR’s decision to switch to Unity makes sense on one hand but is incredibly frustrating on the other. Let’s start with how it makes sense. The software HeR was using from TransGaming Inc. will (from what I can tell) never be updated again, meaning it will become virtually useless soon, if it hasn’t already. That means that HeR needed to find another software that would allow them to convert their games onto a Mac platform so that they would not lose a large portion of their customers. This was probably seen as an opportunity to switch to something completely new that would allow them to reach even more platforms. One of the points HeR keeps harping on and on about in their updates to fans is the tablet market, as well as increasing popularity in VR. If HeR wants to survive in the modern game market, they need to branch outside of PC gaming. Unity will allow them to do that. The switch makes sense.
However, one also has to consider all of the progress made in their previous game engine. Everything discussed up to this point has taken 17 years to achieve. And, because their engine was designed by their developers specifically for their games, it is likely that after the switch, their engine will never be used again. Additionally, none of the progress HeR made previously applies to Unity, and can only be used as a reference. Plus, it’s not just the improvements made in the game engine that are being erased. It is also the staff at HeR who worked there for so long, who were so integral in building their own engine and getting the game quality to where it is in Sea of Darkness, that are being pushed aside for a new gaming engine. New engine, new staff that knows how to use it.
The only thing HeR won’t lose is Bink Video, if that means anything to anyone. Bink2 works with Unity. According to the Bink Video website, Bink supplies “pre-written plugins for both Unreal 4 and Unity” (Rad Game Tools). However, I can’t actually be sure that HeR will still use Bink in their next game since I don’t work there. It would make sense if they continued to use it, but who knows.
Conclusions and frustrations
To me, Her Interactive is the little company that could. When they set out to make the first Nancy Drew game, there was no engine to support it. Instead of changing their tactics, they said to heck with it and built their own engine. As years went on, they refined their engine using C++ and DirectX and implemented Bink Video. In 2010 they began using software from TransGaming Inc. that allowed them to convert their games to Mac format, allowing them to increase their market. However, with TransGaming Inc.’s falling apart starting in 2015, HeR was forced to rethink its strategy. Ultimately they chose to switch their engine out for Unity, essentially throwing out 17 years worth of work and laying off many of their employees. Now three years in the making, HeR is still largely secretive about the status of their newest game. The combination of these factors has added up to a fanbase that has become distrustful, frustrated, and altogether largely disappointed in what was once that little company that could.

IDW's Fang the Hunter and the failure of Neo-Classic Sonic
Tumblr media
(In case you're stupid, this is an opinion piece made for discussion)
Greetings, boys and goyles. I'm Benis, otherwise known as Benis Chillin, Sonic lore enthusiast and fanfic writer. I say the latter part because I want people to know that I'm well aware that many of my criticisms are based in the fact that I'm a writer, and unlike most people, I try to run more by objective canon than my whims. I explain it more here.
And per those standards…The current state of Classic Sonic SUCKS.
Now, I am a Modern Sonic fan through and through. I LIKED the 4 main Classic games when I played through them, but Sonic Adventure was the one that truly hooked me in. The world established by that game, and the ones that followed, just have my interest more, and I would prefer things be made in service to THAT.
Tumblr media
However, to the greater detriment of society, Sonic Generations happened, and Classic Sonic was reestablished as part of the brand after years of Modern Sonic being THE face of everything, with even collections of Classic games using Modern Sonic artwork. And with the environment of the internet in the 2010's, it's no surprise that they decided to let Classic be its own sort of "brand" with Sonic Mania(bleh)and Forces(less bleh).
But they had a fun spin on it: A split timeline.
youtube
As explained above, Classic Sonic was given his own little mini-continuity to run around in, which is actually a brilliant idea, from a brand perspective. Original Classic Sonic had the creative freedom to do whatever the heck he wanted to, since he was the main Sonic. However, new Classic material, or Neo-Classic material, as I shall now refer to it, if left in the main timeline, inherently has the “prequel” problem where things HAVE to have some kind of hook for it to really be worth having another branch of the brand available. I wouldn’t say EVERY brand has this problem, but even the most masterful uses of that format have to deal with the fact that the future is predetermined, and Neo-Classic Sonic material just does not have the leg room to work around that problem.
So, split the timeline, and just do whatever with it. It’s an AU, go nuts! Let a part of the brand reset and grow in a different way for that audience who isn’t into that Modern stuff!
Tumblr media
And we had a promising enough start with the 30th anniversary comics! Full of interesting returns that you didn’t really see in the mainline books. Heck, we got an actual look at the design of Metal Knuckles, that was pretty rad!
Tumblr media
Bark, Bean, and Fang also had an appearance that made their old Archie team somewhat canon, after they only appeared as illusions in Mania.  Sure, these characters were neat in the Archie comics, but getting a proper form of that in a continuity free of that Satam Stank was nice. This particular comic being a separate thing from my main love, while not diving into the weird stuff that would turn me off from it, inherently made the comic more interesting, even though I’m not much of a Classic Sonic fan.
Tumblr media
And so this sentiment continued through the next specials, but something else began to shift on Sega’s side. The dumbassery of single timeline was stated to be the new status quo, and they started acting as such with new Sonic material.
Sonic Superstars came out, too, and my feelings on that are known. Now, after his appearance in the comics had been a bit of a treat, even if you didn't like him, Fang was in an official Sonic game again, with 3D renders to boot!
Tumblr media
...But he was still the same jackass with barely any personality that he was before. Because Superstars was TRYING to be like 3&K with its storytelling, while lacking basically every element that made 3&K's storytelling work. Combine the lackluster story and music, both of which were caused by the idea of it being a Neo-Classic game, with the fact that the graphics were 3D, and now the question is being raised of, "Why wasn't this just a Modern Sonic game?"
Cause from an outsider's perspective, it being a Neo-Classic game only served to hold it back in a ton of ways!
Tumblr media
For example, the character of Trip. She seems well liked in the Sonic fanbase, but Sega's kinda funky with how they handle characters being both Classic and Modern. Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Eggman, and Metal Sonic seem to be allowed to exist in both parts of the brand, but that's it.
Knuckles Chaotix is said to be canon, but the Classic Chaotix are unlikely to appear anytime soon since Sonic Heroes soft-rebooted them. Mecha Sonic was allowed to appear in the Modern "Scrapnik Island" mini-series, but I suspect it's seen by Sega as a "modern reboot" rather than a character being allowed to co-exist between the two brands again. Heck, they didn't even have the guts to show the Classic versions of the characters during the flashbacks, even though logically, they were still referencing 3&K.
Tumblr media
So will Trip be allowed to appear in any meaningful way in the future? Probably not, the way things have been going.
So, if all Classic characters can only appear in Neo-Classic material, then the Neo-Classic material has to be as good as it can be, right?
Well, that's where the Fang mini comes in.
Tumblr media
Written by Ian Flynn, who has very much been showing how utterly stretched he is across so many Sonic projects lately(even if I would still regard him as a fairly decent writer, just...Has his limits), the Fang mini is the epitome of BORING!
The basic story is that Fang and his gang are seeking out, "The eighth Chaos Emerald," visit a few people who tell him it doesn't exist, and then Eggman sends him to deal with the Hardboiled Heavies going rogue.
Along the way, Fang is just randomly a dick to his friends, and they end up abandoning his ass at the end because this comic is, for some reason, a direct prequel to Sonic Superstars, and we apparently needed an explanation of why they weren't there?
If my summary didn't sound that bad to you, it's because you don't have to go through the grueling wait that being an IDW Sonic fan entails.
Seriously, the wait between issues of IDW Sonic has become a real problem the past few years. Ever since the Metal Virus ended, the main book has had a massive problem with pacing.
And sure, there are arcs and ideas I like there, I AM a fan, but not a lot HAPPENS in each issue compared to earlier in the book's run. Even re-reading them, the pace is oddly slow for a book about a fast character, and the issue especially persists here...On top of the main book being paused for a bit so THIS shit could come out.
(Current arc is doing better, though, so hope they keep that up)
Issues 1&2 are wasted with Fang harassing Sonic and Knuckles for a bit that, guess what? Goes nowhere! And then we briefly divert to Fang and co. in a watery old Eggbase so Eggman can capture them and actually get the plot going…3 issues into a 4-issue mini! Then, we finally get to the main event, where all will be revealed! And…
Tumblr media
It's the Warp Topaz from the main book. The Hardboiled Heavies found it in a cave, where nobody ELSE knew it was, so it can't be the source of the 8th Chaos Emerald rumors.
Like I told ya, that went NOWHERE!
So they fight the bland-as-shit Heavies, Fang adds the Warp Topaz to his hover bike thing, and the airship is wrecked, leaving Sonic and Tails to have no idea what just happened, their involvement being a complete wash.
And our story ends with Bark and Bean rocketing off in little hovercars that just raise the question of why they didn't use those when Fang threatened to kick them off in Issue 2, since he has no say in whether or not they launch.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I actually managed to ask Ian Flynn about this on the Bumblekast, and this was his response:
youtube
Worth noting that the final issue has an additional editor that didn't work on the previous issues. Not saying EVERYONE'S blameless in this, but if I had to choose a weak point…
This mini-series encapsulates every little issue the Neo-Classic line has had since they officially eschewed split timeline.
It feels the need to go out of its way to explain shit that doesn’t matter, like where Bark and Bean were during Superstars, Fang having the Warp Topaz, but not using it during Superstars creates a gaping plot hole that will not wash away, and it not going away at the end brings up a lot of timeline issues that I can only hope that Knuckles special resolves!
Tumblr media
In fact, why didn’t HE get the mini!?
Even in his Classic state, Knuckles has a LOT more to carry a story with! From the secrets of his island, to the mysteries of his people(which Adventure and the Frontiers promo animation hinted at), to even just doing his own treasure hunts! Heck, you could even pin him against both Fang’s crew and the HBH, and you’ve got enough of a banger to hold 4 action-packed issues right there!
But no! Instead, we get a book that seems written to depend on the personalities of the protagonists…When said protagonists barely have any personality.
Tumblr media
Like, let’s consider Team Chaotix from Sonic Heroes ALONE. Vector is the loud, bombastic leader with a love of music, and true detective skills, as showcased by him figuring out that their employer was Eggman on his own by Rail Canyon. Espio is the disciplined, if a bit full of himself, ninja, taking down the bad guys with stealth and precision, while also being somewhat melodramatic. And Charmy is the excitable ADHD kid of the group who may occasionally want to go off-track and play around in the giant casino area.
These characters are simple, yet so full of personality that you immediately like them(unless you’re a 2010’s YouTuber). THESE guys can hold a narrative.
By comparison, what do Fang’s gang have after 3 comic appearances and Sonic Superstars?
Tumblr media
Fang is a hired goon who has goons, Bean is “funny” bomb man, and Bark is the silent strong guy with a soft spot.
That is really it.
And this was FINE back when they were still in “Sega forgot us” territory. Being obscure oddities that we would rarely get in stories actually did a lot of heavy lifting for their more limited personalities. Despite what the current writers seem to feel about such limits, judging by Silver and Blaze's current "vacations" in the main book, characters being rarer can actually endear you to them.
But now, these guys aren't really that rare. In fact, I’d say they’re about equal to Team Chaotix in terms of mass media exposure within the past 5 years, and they’re considerably lacking in comparison.
Hell, even compared to the characters created RECENTLY in IDW and the Modern games, they're pretty lackluster. Yet I'm supposed to care about these assholes just as much as those guys?
Which, really, is how ALL of the Neo-Classic media feels these days.
Look, I get that Neo-Classic Sonic media doesn’t want to step on the toes of Modern Sonic. I do. But I really think it needs a good shake-up.
Quit treating it like it’s this special thing, because it isn’t anymore. Find a more solid identity for this branch of Sonic if you want it to survive, cause THIS doesn’t cut it anymore.
AND ACKNOWLEDGE THAT TIMELINE SPLIT ESTABLISHED IN A MAINLINE GAME, DAMNIT! THERE’S A STORY IN UNDOING THAT! TELL IT, OR I WILL!

When you have trudged unwilling far enough down the road of desperation, you might spy a crooked little path leading off into the woods signposted ‘opportunity’.
You must be eagle-eyed to spot it. That or you must have friends who will give you crude, hand-drawn map.
So it was in your case. As your savings flatlined and the financial doctors behind their plaguemasks stopped even returning your calls, a friend passed on a business card.
It was good money, they assured you. Very legit. Referral only. An exclusive service.
If anything, the ‘exclusive’ nature of it was what stopped you from getting in touch. You were fairly sure you weren’t *deserving* of an elite get-out-of-money-jail free club.
But eventually, you got far enough down the road that you knew this was your only exit. It was this or enter the Bankruptcy Games.
You made the call.
---
“So, you’re a temp agency?”
“*The* Temp Agency, in fact.” Said the suit with a face. “It’s a great deal. You come to work, you close your eyes, and you wake 8 hours later and 8 hours older. It’s like being paid to sleep, only without the rest.”
“But if I’m not doing anything, what are you paying me for?”
“For your time, of course. There’s always a market for it.” The suit with a face smiled the *idea* of a smile which contained within it the *idea* of sharp canines. “It’s the one true currency. The ‘hour standard’.”
“...I thought procrastination was the thief of time.”
“Procrastination is a moocher who never did anything for you, darling. We offer a 401k.”
“I still don’t really know what that is.”
“No-one does. But, believe me, you want one.”
---
After your first few visits, you began to get some faint ideas of how the enterprise worked. When you got into the slim glass pod, you noticed the telltale whine of a consciousness disruptor. You’d used them in work once, before you caught ethics.
So … the time was not simply siphoned out of you, There was a *process* that required you to be un-awake.
The next visit, you asked an old friend for a 3D bug. It was all organic neuron circuitry in a collagen case - slipped beneath the dermis, it was virtually undetectable.
When you played back the recording, you saw the strangest scene.
After you were rendered unconscious, face-in-the-suit opened a small hatch and a crowd of tiny 8-inch humanoids thronged through. They knelt in front of your pod and began *praying*. They praised your name, begged intercession, then praised your name some more.
They had made a god of you - a strange kind of chrono-theology.
Only your followers did not ask you to give them their daily bread, but simply to give them *days*.

Get to know your mutuals!
Thanks to @silcobrainrot for tagging me. 💜
What's the origin of your blog title?
The danger must be growing is a line from a song in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It was my favorite book as a kid, and I've never grown out of my Willy Wonka obsession. lmfao.

God, I've shipped so much over my lifetime. My most beloved (in no particular order):
SessRin - Inuyasha
Leshley aka EagleOne - Resident Evil 4
Jilco aka Bombshark - Arcane
Snamione - Harry Potter
Mithen - Resident Evil 7
Mia/Heisenberg (they don't have an official ship name bc they're a crack rarepair that I basically made up) - Resident Evil 8
Bethyl - The Walking Dead
Sanrion - Game of Thrones/ASOIAF
V/ergil/my OC(s) - Devil May Cry
Shane/my OC - Stardew Valley
Pierre/my OC - Stardew Valley
I feel like I'm forgetting some, but that's enough. Pfft.
Favourite color:
Purple.
Song stuck in your head:
Backslide - Twenty One Pilots. But they're always stuck in my head, so that's nothing new.
Weirdest habit/trait:
Idk, man. I feel like I'm a fucking weirdo in general. Not in a "pick me" way, but like in a way that if most people saw me in my natural habitat, they'd shoot me.
Hobbies:
Writing, 3d rendering, reading, video games. Crocheting, when the mood strikes.
If you work, what's your profession?
I'm an independent contractor that provides administrative support to non-profit organizations in a virtual setting. So, I work from home, make my own hours, and can pick and choose the clients I want to work for. It's taken me a long time to get to this point, and it's pretty nice.
If you could have any job you wish, what would it be?
I often think... wow, it would be so cool to earn cash from writing or rendering. But the reality is that I'm not cut out for creating those things to be consumed by a mass audience. I'm way too self-indulgent, and my creativity hinges on hyper-fixation.
So, the real answer is nothing. I hate working. Lmfao.
Something you're good at:
I like to think I'm pretty good at writing and 3d rendering. I've been writing since I was a literal child, but I only started rendering about a year ago? Maybe a little less. I'm completely self taught, and I'm happy with how much skill I've picked up in such a short amount of time.
Something you hate:
Antis in fandom. It's so stupid.
The state of my country right now. The US is spiraling the shitter.
Lots of other things, but it's mostly tedious stuff that doesn't really matter.
Something you collect:
Random fandom merch.
Something you forget:
Everything. lmfao. Adult ADHD is super fun.
What's your love language:
Acts of service.
Favourite movie/show:
Movie: Single movie - Fight Club. Otherwise it's The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Show: Arcane and Futurama.

What were you like as a child:
Shy and anxious.
Favourite subject at school:
English and literature.
Least favourite subject:
Math. Not bc I was bad at it, but bc it bored me.
What's your best character trait?
I'm kinda witty and funny sometimes.
What's your worst character trait?
I'm a borderline hermit level introvert, so I can be standoffish and self-isolate for weeks to months at a time.
If you could change any detail of your life right now, what would it be?
I have Lupus. I wish there was a cure for that.
---
I'll only tag @maylilithreign this time bc I think it'll be fun to read her answers. (No pressure, of course.)

5 best online interior design services for 2025
Tumblr media
Source- Livspace website
When I decided to revamp my space, finding the right interior design service felt overwhelming, difficult, and expensive. Fortunately, in my try to find the best online interior design services, I not only discovered the convenience of online interior design platforms but also got to know about some of the best design trends as well.  I realized that online interior design services have revolutionized the way we create beautiful, functional spaces. Interior design companies like Livspace combine convenience, innovation, and style to help you bring your dream home to life.
Here, I would like to share my experience of getting my home interiors done by professional interior designers, hoping this would serve as a guide to anyone in search of the best. If you’re looking to transform your home with ease, these services might just be the perfect fit for you!
To make it easier for everyone, I have compiled a list of different businesses based on criteria such as price, package options, project size, and availability.
Choices of online interior design services
As mentioned earlier, I did a lot of homework to find interior design services in Bengaluru. Decorpot was one of the names that popped up in my search feed; it offers an array of designs and interior design experts, however, the level of customization offered by them was not up my alley. The level of expertise possessed by the designers is worth the package.
Another service, named UrbanClap (now Urban Company), offers a curated box of recommendations based on the answers you provided to a style questionnaire and any visual materials you share with the company's design team. However, since the designs are mostly based on the answers, I felt that my options were limited.
Compared to some of the premium options available, Interior Design Wala’s service is competitive. After your 45-minute free consultation or video conference, you will receive a 2D-floor plan, a 3D room rendering, customized mood boards, and expert product recommendations. But my search for the best home interior designers continued as I was not convinced with the video call and wanted to get a look and feel of the materials to be used in person.
Tesor Design, another interior design service provider,  offers a customized solution that closely considers your budget. Customers like us may reach their preferred designers via phone, text, or online message with any of the options. One of the quickest services on this list is Havenly, which provides you with the first three design concepts in just two days.
However, Livspace was my number one choice for the greatest interior design services. I chose Livspace because of everything that made it stand out from the competition. I can attest that Livspace is one interior design firm that stands out for its all-encompassing approach to interior design after having it complete the interiors of my house.
Livspace: My Top pick for online interior design services
Tumblr media
Source- From my visit to the Livspace experience centre, Marathahalli, Bengaluru
My first-hand experience with Livspace was the best of all, and this is the sole reason I decided to sign up with them. I highly recommend Livspace for your home interiors. Don't just take my word for it, check out the Livspace reviews and witness their skill and competence for yourself.
The first benefit is that Livspace offers experience centres spread around Indian cities, allowing you to see how your home might look up close. And don't they look stunning? The best part is that Livspace's interior designers make sure you don't feel overpowered by the exquisite furnishings, lighting, textures, finishes, and other details. Gayatri, the Livspace interior designer I met, was genuinely interested in my home's design and had the patience of a saint to lead me through each module, going over everything in great detail.

The first advantage is that the Livspace designers, as seen on their website, shared excellent designs in a short time and had a very creative aesthetic that matched my expectations. Nobody else offered us that level of design. Second, I thought the price was very reasonable and came well under my budget.
Regarding my interactions with the project manager and designer at Livspace, it was seamless. Both the design and the quality of the material are excellent. They were all ears to my ideas and kept asking if I needed any changes. Despite us using our kitchen, there were no problems with the measurement and installation process. The Livspace team was punctual and swift, ensuring all the tasks were completed on time.
When it came to "the big reveal," it was exactly what was promised and, to be honest, more. I was mentally prepared for serious hiccups and delays. However, other than a few minor delays, there wasn't much to gripe about and they had a system in place to make sure the flow of work is sequential and done within the deadline promised. By the time the process was finished, the entire house was decorated in these various hues, which somehow worked really well together.
When it comes to home decor, Livspace has specialized answers for all the questions a client might come up with. Additionally, they possess the skill to transform a small area into one that is roomy and stunningly organized. Professionals at Livspace handle everything right up until the house is turned over! They set trends and are major influencers when it comes to offering the customers' preferred home furnishings. As far as I can tell, their prices are the best on the market and extremely competitive.
Overall, with my experience, I can bet that Livspace is an unbeatable option for those looking for a full-service interior design and home renovation. Trust my Livspace review, and go for Livspace if you are looking to design a beautiful home interior design.
Bottom line- go for Livspace for a stress-free home interior designing process
The best online interior design services for you ultimately depend on your project needs, budget, and design preferences. Urban Company offers discounts for designing multiple rooms in your house, you can check them out. Homeowners on a tight budget should also check out Tesor Designs for more affordable design packages or even Interior Design Wala for its complimentary design services. As mentioned, Decorpot provides a complete package at a reasonable cost.

However, based on my first-hand experience, I will strongly suggest you check out Livspace. I can assure you that the most reputable brand for interior services, home design, home renovation, consultation, and home and interior styling is now Livspace.
If you are looking to give your home a sleek, uncluttered, functional, modern look, Livspace should be your go-to interior designer. The hassle-free experience, including material procurement, on-site execution, and quality assurance, ensures a seamless journey from start to finish. I suggest you do your homework and have a decent idea of what you want to do with your space. Going with a blank mid to the experience centers can be overwhelming.
Schedule a free consultation with Livspace online and you will definitely agree with whatever I have mentioned here.

i'm still holding off final judgement until the gameplay today, but seeing some stills on twitter kind of helped me solidify what i found so off-putting about the style in the companion trailer
although before i post those, a few counter arguments because i'm already tired of ppl bashing the ppl who aren't vibing with it, and my head is clear enough to put these thoughts down:
"cinematic trailers rarely look like the actual game" - true to a point. however: 1) typically cinematic trailers strive to look like a higher definition version of the game, which seems to be the opposite here. in the case of DAO and DA2, i would say the cinematic trailers actually strived for more realism, not stylization, as that was the trend at the time. 2) this is a cinematic trailer, but it is also done in the game engine so it's not unreasonable to assume that the end product is gonna look somewhat similar 3) this was supposed to be their best foot forward so suddenly going "don't worry, it's gonna look better in-game" is just a bad marketing move. it's not on the audience to give this company the benefit of the doubt (particularly in light of all the shit that has gone down there in the past decade)
"not everything has to be super realistic!" - agreed! not liking elements of this particular style doesn't mean i'm opposed to stylization in DA at all. i think DA2 is much more stylized than DAO, and not only does it look nicer, it looks more distinctly dragon age. DAO visually is also very generic, especially for its time. i still love the almost painterly look of DA2, even all these years later
and i think DAI has issues with the character models, especially the uncanny valley disconnect between the really stiff animations and realistic faces (having played it within the past year, they've aged pretty roughly), but in terms of environment and armor and whatnot, it did build off the style presented in DA2 in a way that effectively modernized it for that era. it did go for a more realistic look, but it was cohesive and still distinctly dragon age
"people reacted like this to DA2 and DAI's trailers too" - no, they did not, lmao. DA2's trailers were the reverse--they looked more realistic than the actual game. now there was some backlash against the stylistic choice in the actual game. i remember david gaider talking about it in a panel at dragon con in 2012--apparently ppl were upset that the companions looked like they were made with cosplayers in mind, which i thought was an interesting criticism. but no, the trailers did not get this sort of response.
and DAI's trailers used a lot of in-game footage, and the cinematic ones were both pretty accurate to the game and well-received by the audience. DAI's marketing was also absolutely bonkers and nonstop for like 9 months before the game was released, which in hindsight i think was way too much, but in terms of visuals, we knew exactly what we were getting.
"you guys just think anything with a style to it looks like fortnite" - lmao, okay, yeah, describing it as fornite is probably unfair and inaccurate, but i know for me, i kind of use it as a shorthand to reflect my general dissatisfaction with the way so many 3D styles (in both games and movies) just have this bland, cartoonish look to them. the pixar-ification of everything. i just don't like it.
and the logo with the bright purple and overly smooth text doesn't really help here either. i think a less saturated and darker purple paired with a grungier font would also help in making this feel like less like fornite season 3458345: dragon age avengers.
plus it was originally gonna be a live service game and i think that it still has some of that dna artistically
SO ANYWAY
these stills, which i think are also in-game engine but im not entirely sure if they're from cinematics, gameplay, or just renders but they seem to be in-line with the trailer:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and seeing emmrich and to a lesser extent neve in these pics solidified why the stylization didn't work for me on a visual level (never mind it being paired with the light-hearted planning-for-a-silly-little-heist vibes)
so when i first saw the trailer, and i saw varric, i was like "nice"
Tumblr media
he looked like a higher definition, older version of a DA2/DAI hybrid of his model. he looked really good. i thought harding looked good, too. it did take me a minute to realize who she was, but it really wouldn't be a DA trailer if we weren't left wondering who tf a returning character was lmao (remember the confusion over alistair's appearance in one of the DAI trailers? this is actually tradition now)
but as the trailer goes on, the style doesn't even stay consistent--it just gets progressively more cartoonish right up to emmrich, which is the exact moment that made me go WHAT
Tumblr media
he looks like a cartoon character. the hard lines in his face, the stiffness of his hair, his overall proportions--he looks like he should be a villain in a pixar movie. like i'm digging his overall vibe and as a concept of a character design, i love it. but this execution of it next to fellow old wrinkled man varric looks so off
and then we go right into davrin who is beautifully rendered and designed--he doesn't look out of place next to varric or harding
Tumblr media
some characters have the soft, wispy hair while others have hair that looks like a hard shell with lines carve into it. some characters have finely detailed wrinkles while others have thick, cartoonish ones. some characters have realistic proportions while others have more exaggerated features.
stylization is only effective when it's purposeful and consistent, and from what i've seen so far, it's not. it's all over the place.
so there's my thesis about why i dont like the art direction in the trailer lmao
and like i've been saying since it dropped, i am reserving full judgment for the gameplay reveal, but based on the other stuff bioware has teased, i'm not expecting this aspect to change too much. i've seen other ppl who were on the fan council thing say the tone in the game is more in-line with the tone in the other games, so maybe that'll help smooth out this disconnect

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance - Review
System: Nintendo GameCube Release Date: Oct. 17th, 2005 Genre: Tactical Role-Playing Developer / Publisher: Intelligent Systems / Nintendo Playtime: 32.7 Hours (In-Game Time)
Tumblr media
Story: Having recently finished it's direct predecessor The Sacred Stones, Path of Radiance's story was a massive improvement. Character writing has always been where the franchise shines, so giving characters extra scenes without having to use the archaic "support" system allows the writers to show off that great work, while also weaving the main story's narrative in with individual party member's. Path of Radiance provides a huge breath of fresh air to said main story by having the main character, Ike, not be an aristocrat, a first for the series. The first third of the game really shines as Ike and his band of mercenaries rush to stay ahead of the invasion of their home country, witnessing the uncaring nature of those whose lives have yet to be effected by the war. This ends up being one of the game's major themes, as we also see this same attitude in the elites of Begnion, and many of the distant Laguz tribes. The story's handling of racism, prejudice, and the propaganda of both, is surprisingly subtle, paralleling Jim Crow-era America, as well as Japan's own imperialist history.
Gameplay: The pacing of the campaign is fairly breezy, although it does start to drag after it's false finale. Level variety is great, with a number of new gimmicks, varied locales, and new clear conditions adding some much needed life to the aging Fire Emblem formula. Battles have a nice flow to them, and as with many other strategy games, it's easy to keep thinking, "one more turn", until it's 2:00AM. Later chapters rely quite heavily on siege weapons/spells to disrupt your game plan, which can be very frustrating with the zoomed in view. You think you're all set until your Pegasus Knight eats a ballista bolt. Despite this, the game is fairly easy. You have all the information before you have to commit to any actions, but making any mistakes or getting bad luck can be very time-consuming due to the series' signature permadeath.
Presentation: This is decidedly the game’s weakest area. The CG cutscenes are wooden and fall into the uncanny valley of neither being realistic nor committing fully to an anime aesthetic. On top of that the audio mixing on them is atrocious, rendering the poorly dubbed characters nearly inaudible. Having stylized, anime-esque cutscenes like Three Houses would've been ideal. The 3D graphics for the map and combat are serviceable, but undoubtedly lack the charm of Fire Emblem 6-8’s gorgeous pixel art. The combat animations feel especially lacking compared to the electrifying animations of those games. Speaking of combat animations, I ended up playing most of the game with them turned off, as the small load times before each one cratered the pacing of battles. The last presentation style the game has are visual novel-esque dialogues that take place in between chapters. The character portraits here feel flat compared to Sachiko Wada's previous work. This style ends up being functional as the conduit for the stellar story, but definitely reflect the game's transitional nature.
Conclusion: Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance is among the best that the franchise has to offer, and among the best strategy RPGs of all time. It’s an easy recommendation to anyone that has even a passing interest in either category, and a great entry point for series newcomers. I'm personally excited to move on to Radiant Dawn in the future!
Score: 8.5/10.0

your 3DS is OFFLINE . . .
Tumblr media
(mucho texto below)
On April 8th, 2024, the online services for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U were shutdown. This affects online play across all games, and SpotPass, used in apps like Swapdoodle; this renders online-required games unplayable, most notably Nintendo Badge Arcade.
As of the date I'm writing this not aaall online features are unaccessible, Friends List seem to be working, Pokémon Bank is still running, usable for free and compatible with Pokémon Home, and you can download updates and games from the eShop (only if you bought them before the eShop shutdown from March 27th, 2023...), but there's no guarantee those will last much longer.
anyways Pretendo Network is a replacement for Nintendo Network that not only aims to restore online play, but also other abandoned features such as Miiverse and the Wara Wara Plaza.
Setting up Pretendo is pretty easy, there's a guide on its website for both Wii U, 3DS and their respective emulators, and you don't even need modding on Wii U for it to work (with some limitations), but you might as well do it since it's so easy (Wii U modding guide - 3DS modding guide)
Currently Pretendo is in a beta state and active development so it's not really a fully realized replacement yet, but a couple of popular games are supported well enough at the moment, like Mario Kart 7, Splatoon and Super Mario Maker (personally i care more about pokemon gen 6 and mh4u and idk if those will be supported aaaa oh well).
Since this is technically a whole different server, some things don't carry over from you Nintendo Network ID to your Pretendo Network ID, like your badges(you should backup your badges before using Pretendo on 3DS) or your Friends List... so I gotta fill it up again! my new 3DS Friend Code is 3878-6726-5312 and my PNID is dibudani (for Wii U), add me right now !!
"Why is the little wifi guy so happy?" idk. why was toad happy when Club Nintendo was discontinued?

Rose's unspoken dreams 🌹
Hiii it's been awhile I'm outside the ships posts eh?
This post is just me venting about dreams that are impossible to do and no it's not sad
I've created this blong since 2021 (4 years! Yaayy!!) For #russell adler content and that time I felt the negative side of tumblr then confirmed that I'll leave tumblr due to the community not supportive and yeah I did leave and came back 2022
We all know tumblr is an app for both fandoms and creative post with millions of people showing off their hobbies across the app and nor gonna lie tumblr is one of my favorite social media and more positive compare to what I have see in the past.
My hobbies were told many times in my blog and I'll say it again : 3d modeling, editing and writing then less drawing
I enjoy creating content in tumblr and get people entertained with my ideas. Support for me is what makes me keep going
But some things I was planning to do falls to the impossible category since I'm facing stuff. Shall we look?
Number 1 : Drawing content
Drawing is the second dream hobby as a child and used to draw alot, some draws looked good as a child but as a grew up my artstyle didn't change and that's something became irritating to me and stopped drawing cause from where I'm standing it's not my thing anymore
Number 2 : Renders
In this post I discussed how 3d model was the top dream and leaving it is not a bearable thing but I came back to it but still on SFM not on Daz3d or blender. I still struggle with 3d models and money
Number 3 : paid content
Yes, I'm the type of person that does paid content and commissions
For real?
Yeah but...can't do it..
Here's why
Paid content and commissions sounds like it's a method to earn money that way but it's not the case of how you receive the money but the case of what quality you bring to the people who paid for the content. I know not everyone can make a perfect art but sometimes it feels like people are judging you through price and content quality.
I get it..people see your content on a blog and won't pay unless they are a fan of a particular kind of content and like to own their own with that style or unlock more content
For example: you make a nsfw version or add a special content but you at the same time want to earn money so you open an account like patron, buy me a cup of coffee and other services that includes money in return more content
Now as a girl who can't legally yet get a job due to not having a diploma or leave the house due to parents being strict, I can't make a dime to support half of my living and I'm not gonna lie yes I do live mid but some days let's just say life gets difficult due to financial problems
So I planned to make a paid content and commissions to earn some support and take care of me since then but my content doesn't convince people to request it.
As a plan, my paid content was meant to 3d renders of my ocs and others If requested but unfortunately the 3d models that I want is very difficult to recreat or found.
But you know? You don't have to spend your money to show love or support on what I do you can support me by liking, rebloging, commenting and more! And reminder that commissions are free!
And I personally thank these cuties for support
@jvgotic
@makilight
@kings-out-of-pocket-hell
@alypink
@cloudofbutterflies92
@piouswolf
@violetflavia
@adlersoldspice
@adlerboi
To the people I tagged I just wanna thank you for supporting me and my content, it means alot to me, I love you all to the moon and back 💓💘💕💗💖
See ya to another page of rose's unspoken!

Paano ba makakuha ng clients without putting yourself out there hahaha. Honestly, I used to get clients thru referrals, I rarely source out but because I have been inconsistent with my services for the past few years (like magwowork lang ako pag feel ko) it feels like the client pool has run dry hahahahaha.
Baka meron dito may need ng modular cabinet technical designer. I offer 2D, 3D and rendering services hahaha. Baka lang naman?

Affordable RTX 4090 and RTX 5090 Rentals for AI in the USA: Best Price Guarantee
Introduction
Artificial Intelligence (AI) continues to evolve, demanding powerful computing resources to train and deploy complex models. In the United States, where AI research and development are booming, access to high-end GPUs like the RTX 4090 and RTX 5090 has become crucial. However, owning these GPUs is expensive and not practical for everyone, especially startups, researchers, and small teams. That’s where GPU rentals come in.
If you're looking for Affordable RTX 4090 and RTX 5090 Rentals for AI in the USA, you’re in the right place. With services like NeuralRack.ai, you can rent cutting-edge hardware at competitive rates, backed by a best price guarantee. Whether you’re building a machine learning model, training a generative AI system, or running high-intensity simulations, rental GPUs are the smartest way to go.
Read on to discover how RTX 4090 and RTX 5090 rentals can save you time and money while maximizing performance.
Why Renting GPUs Makes Sense for AI Projects
Owning a high-performance GPU comes with a significant upfront cost. For AI developers and researchers, this can become a financial hurdle, especially when models change frequently and need more powerful hardware. Affordable RTX 4090 and RTX 5090 Rentals for AI in the USA offer a smarter solution.
Renting provides flexibility—you only pay for what you use. Services like NeuralRack.ai Configuration let you customize your GPU rental to your exact needs. With no long-term commitments, renting is perfect for quick experiments or extended research periods.

RTX 4090 vs. RTX 5090 – A Quick Comparison
Choosing between the RTX 4090 and RTX 5090 depends on your AI project requirements. The RTX 4090 is already a powerhouse with over 16,000 CUDA cores, 24GB GDDR6X memory, and superior ray-tracing capabilities. It's excellent for deep learning, natural language processing, and 3D rendering.
On the other hand, the newer RTX 5090 outperforms the 4090 in almost every way. With enhanced architecture, more CUDA cores, and optimized AI acceleration features, it’s the ultimate choice for next-gen AI applications.
Whether you choose to rent the RTX 4090 or RTX 5090, you’ll benefit from top-tier GPU performance. At NeuralRack Pricing, both GPUs are available at unbeatable rates. The key is to align your project requirements with the right hardware.
If your workload involves complex computations and massive datasets, opt for the RTX 5090. For efficient performance at a lower cost, the RTX 4090 remains an excellent option. Both are available under our Affordable RTX 4090 and RTX 5090 Rentals for AI in the USA offering.
