LoZ - Why The Gerudo Are Unfair

I really don't think that a lot of fans really get just how not okay the Gerudo's practices are.

For one, every Gerudo is treated wholy & completely as a Gerudo & nothing else. Now, while it may make sense based on appearances, it doesn’t when you really think about it. Especially when you take into account the well-known lore about the Gerudo.

Because the Gerudo aren’t reproducing asexually & they only get 1 male a century. Which means that 99% of Gerudo are likely all more than half Hyrulean.

Not even half, more than half, because it isn’t just a Gerudo herself who had a non-Gerudo father, but possibly every Gerudo who came before her going on for most likely myriennia, were non-Gerudo.

Yet, they only focus on the Gerudo part of their heritage. As though their fathers don’t exist. As though their grandfathers, great grandfathers, & great great grandfathers, don’t exist! As though the women they’re related to through their male family members, don’t exist!!

As separatist as they may wish to be, they do so at the expense of others & themselves.

Let me put this into perspective for ya'll. A DNA test can trace your ancestors back 6-10 generations. Which, I know, no DNA tests in Hyrule, but just because they don't have DNA tests, doesn't mean that deductive reasoning stops existing.

2nd gen = 1 Gerudo & 3 Non

3rd gen = 1 Gerudo & 7 Non

4th gen = 1 Gerudo & 15 Non

Again, not even a full percentage & that is their entire existence as people.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if there's a general consensus among human Hyrulean males that, if a Gerudo starts flirting with him, but they can't tell him their father's name or where he was from, or even her mother's father, it's likely not worth getting into a relationship with her to begin with because it's likely that her answers will reflect the relationship that he'll end up having with any daughter that may come from it.

And unless he's okay with that, he's better off saving them both the trouble.

Though, now that I think of it, wouldn't that be both hilarious & horribly sad if these sorts of questions became considered racist?

If someone called me a "whitey" with the intent of it being a slur & I actually gave them the dignity of being insulted by it??

Like, personally, don't know about you, but personally? If I was gonna give this racist asshole of a creatively bankrupt jerk the time of day & that time was spent doing anything other than mocking him, even only in my own head, I'd be disappointed in myself.

Present day thoughts:

I carry this Looney tunes hc that Bugs and Daffy share wardrobes. I can make a case for this comics series exclusively. Daffy has a track record of barging into Bugs' burrow and has nabbed outfits out of his little costume box.

The next semi-canon/hc is that Bugs likes Daffy content. It's present in a handful of "off screen" meta that Bugs does seem to appreciate Daffy's cartoons outside of liking the duck himself. Can I regurgitate all known instances? Not anymore unfortunately. But it's overt as far as I recall.

Also, Elmer with a french accent sounds very cursed, if there are instances out there where he's audibly had a french accent, please inform me.

It is so fun to see how you guys vote, and going through your requests has been a great way to learn a little more about wrestlers that I'm often not super familiar with. My pinned post has been updated with links to the results table and a CSV for my fellow spreadsheet nerds.

Thank you also for being cool about my request regarding violent tags. I haven't had to block anyone yet, and I hope it stays that way.

As for this week's polls, it is VERY amusing to me that you all prefer regular Kane to Corporate Kane by 31 points. That is a LOT. Corporate Kane scored lower than The Boogeyman, who will probably always be my yardstick for smashability. Are you doing better than The Boogeyman? Then you can't be doing too badly.

Around 1/4 of you are clown fuckers! Sinn Bodhi scored 27.3% smash, while a couple weeks ago, Doink the Clown scored 28.3% smash.

in absence of a reunion noel interview i'm going back to revisit the great gallagher thaw of late 2014/early 2015 to try to make some sense outta these strange reunion times we are in now.

i've been really curious about this time period for awhile and stockpiling posts with the intention of assembling them in some kind of chronological order. still not quite sure what i'm looking at but it's a bit like find the edge pieces of a puzzle and snapping them together for a frame. you can get a vague idea while understanding much of the pieces are missing to complete the picture. most notably noel is giving interviews at this time while liam is mostly out of the public eye entirely.

assembled them in the queue and looking at them in order now and getting a bit choked up by what we have. even factoring in the normal album press cycle, noel's interviews have noticeable outlier moments during this time. charting his uncharacteristically relaxed calm fondness to emotionally raw moments when mentioning liam, it does look like any attempt at a truce all goes south within a months time (mid february to mid march 2015). coincidence it’s when dead in the water is written and the chasing yesterday is released? of course it’s not lost on me it also is at a period of nostalgia with the 20th anniversaries of their first two albums and part of the buzz about a reunion driven by stone roses reunion. but in the course of the entire feud it sticks out as different. and suggests noel was more invested in a reconciliation than he’d ever be willing to admit.
