The problem with arguments is that they never happen at a good time. Which is a to be expected given their nature. And the problem with trying to make up is, at least in the Pegasus galaxy, they come at an even worst time. Especially when John and Rodney get stuck off world, running from some locals who took a dislike to them immediately and five days after an argument that, in John's opinion, had started over nothing.

But at least they were together?

Love the concept of this one, love them being forced into life or death situations before being able to talk about their feelings, looooove the misunderstanding on Rodney’s part 🥰🥹

This is absolutely a mcshep fic but I almost found that taking a backseat for me in my enjoyment of the way that the plot unfolds, the way that it’s written? Absolutely spellbinding work, I struggled to put it down.

hi guys <3 i need ur opinion on something :

if we were lovers, the fic I'll be posting around December, is 260 ish thousand words. It's long, but it's written in 6 parts, there will only be 6 uploads, here's the break down:

Act I : around 30k words Act II : around 50k words Act III : around 60k words Act IV : around 40k words Intermission : 8k/9k Act V : around 80k words

you might be thinking : "that's crazy" but each Act is broken down into 12 scenes so it's not too insane (I say, insanely). I do not want to post scene by scene because they range from under 1k to over 15k, I'm really intent on only having 6 "chapters"

now my dilemma is this : i would like to post bi-weekly so the fic would be posted every like monday and friday, let's say, so over a time span of 3 weeks. however, would it be better to post only once a week? with the uploads being so long, realistically most people won't read as soon as they come out, and won't read all in one go

i'm not saying I'll 100% go with what you'll pick lmao, bc I would much rather post twice a week to get it all out as soon as possible, but I love having that proximity with readers who comment after every upload, and I don't want people to feel left out simply bc they don't have time to read a 60k word update in 3 days (which is normal, i'm the irrational one for having 60k word updates)

@aamericanotaku I mean, I think there's definitely something there! Especially since Tintin overlaps with the same years as the Korean War. Given how globe trotting Tintin is it feels like there must be a way to naturally slot him into the world of MASH. .

..Though considering how the comics feel a little "out of time" (given that they couldn't touch on the Big Global Conflicts at the time for obvious reasons) some things would definitely feel odd. Tintin existing in a real war would feel really weird to me... and I think someone at MASH would lose it if he said "oh yeah I've been to the moon :D" with a straight face. Though watching Hawkeye contend with how many fucking times Tintin's been concussed/shot/blown up/etc would be HILARIOUS. Do you think any of them would have ever read his articles? And how's the language barrier going for them because you know I love playing with language gaps, poor Tintin and Haddock are doing their best to navigate exclusively in English unless someone at MASH can bumble through French.

But honestly, I feel like Hawkeye and co would be very susceptible to being drawn into whatever insane treasure hunt Tintin has going on, so if the question were "is it possible to do this" I'd say hell yeah, and I'd read it in a heartbeat. But if it were "is it possible for *me* to do it" then regrettably the answer is no 😅 I wrote 80k in three months and I've basically exhausted my fanfic juice for the moment. And I'm not really sure what the actual plot would be... what's the goal, what's the end point for Tintin's time with MASH? Gotta have an ending in order to have a beginning, yknow?

That being said, it's a sick idea and I'd love to hear other people's thoughts on it! I'll totally play in the space that someone else makes!

Busiest Month: July with 55k words written.

Completed a 80k long fic at the beginning of the year.

Almost completed a 125k fic over the summer. 

Wrote 8 One Shots.

Started 4 long fics. Completed 4 events.

Hosted the vacation event. 

I made some amazing, supportive friends this year who helped push me to that quarter-million word count. 

Thank you to @something-like-air for being my rock this year. Thank you for supporting me and keeping me sane (mostly). Thank you for beta’ing over 500,000 words to date. I’m deeply grateful for everything you’ve done for me. You’ve saved me from myself more than you know. You deserve every good thing that has happened to you this year and then some. I hope you stay blessed, that the road rises to meet you, the wind remains at your back, and the sun shines warm upon your face. 

Thank you @lightweaving for becoming my friend this year. I appreciate the laughs we’ve shared, and the time we’ve spent writing together. Thank you for co-modding the Vacation Event with me. I wonder why I enjoy D.H. Lawrence's completely and utterly insane (and often bizarrely and deeply racist) ramblings about Melville so much (especially the Typee one) but the modern collective of dudes who write about the mystic and wild sea like voyeurs really fucking irritate me. I think maybe it's because these are guys (I'm thinking about the Hoare quotation here but also Horatio Clare) are like the find-yourself tour-of-asia backpacking gap-year rich boys of the ocean writing to me. like they're just trying to LARP as Melville because they think it's so cool and deep and interesting but they're never fucking saying anything interesting. at least Lawrence was ACTUALLY fucking deranged about Melville he put his fucking heart into that shit he literally sounds like someone on a street corner screaming about judgement day except he's talking about the ocean and home and mother and away, away from humanity! to the sea! to the naked salt elemental sea! it's so Melvillian imo. we need people to talk about Melville like this again I'm sick of these fucking ivory tower £80k a year professors gallivanting around looking at whales and taking residence on container ships to write terrible unreadable books about their experience which is just 90% them smugly jacking off about how terribly poetic and rogueish and clever they are. the Spanish viewers convo is really interesting. looking at dreams twitch stats he tends to lose a couple hundred followers most streams (very normal for older streamers, people notice they are still following someone they don't watch anymore when they get the notif) but accumulatively during the squidcraft streams he gained almost 80k twitch followers.

its also really intersting looking at dreams twitter especially because he is still steadily going up in followers on both accounts which is insane because up until fairly recently there really was very little content

im not at all surprised its joel also hes like, the one other friend person i would expect. but i also wonder what his videos will be like in the sense of.... playing on the smp? because his style of videos for past smps is not like the norm of hermitcrafters imo which isnt to say its a bad thing but it is different. i mean im looking at a guy who's previous smps were often with people who do lorey things as well. of course, joel is known the Not lore guy, but lets be real, hes technically invovled in it (often in a direct jokey way) because of how those servers were involved in it.

not saying that as like "oh no i hope joel doesnt make lore in hermitcraft" bc i think hermitcraft will never have a majority number of people who would do that and thus change the vibe of the server.

i think my only real gripe is that joel is insanely popular. at least for me and i think others, the other thing abt Skizz being added is the attention he will get. he is NOT popular, it might seem his popularity has risen within the hc/life fandom but in actuality... guys hes got 80k subs. joel has 3.6 million. additionally its why i feel/hope someone like adie is in fact doing something with hermits even if not s10... it would really be good to see them interact with smaller creators in some form.

LOL even 40k sounds low to me, although good on him for not dropping 300k on watches. Im imprssed you could tell what watch it was just be a grainy video! Im clueless myself. A friend of mine here in LA, a guy from philly, once got to hold some insanely expensive watch being custom made at a shop in hollywood for a flyers player i wont say who. But yeah. A discussion by Americans about what is reasonable to spend during the week on groceries came up, and it was just so frustrating, because it was just a little over what I spend on groceries each week for two people (which is around 60€) and it just... considering how high the prices are over there (then again, all packages are huge so I'm assuming they last more) and considering how high the salaries are, it just does not feel fair that we have even comparable prices. The past year everytime I've gone to get groceries I've ended up wanting to cry.

The other day people were throwing fits on Twitter over the prices of Olivia concert tickets, which were between 60€ and 200€ for non-VIP tickets, and yeah, from a more removed perspective, that IS insane, but I spent 60€ to see Taylor in Lisbon and 90€ to see her in Vienna and I did not even flinch at that expense because "wow, seeing Taylor Swift for the first time ever in the biggest tour of her life for... basically two weeks of groceries?! A steal!" and I hate that my mind has become so warped that these kinds of things are acceptable. I hate that I look at accounts making fun of the horrendous "apartments" being offered online and my first instinct is to be like "well, it's 600€ a month, you're lucky this has a roof!" I hate that because I don't make nowhere near enough money to be having these thoughts. And I thought I was set, they were going to make me permanent on the German company I was working for and I was going to get a good salary (and then I planned to do my PhD and then become a professor and everything was going to work out) but now they've laid me off and the PhD looks impossible and that was all after I decided to move back to Spain where the salaries are low but the prices are just as high, or even higher, than in god-damned Germany and rent takes up 80% of your salary because of how insane prices are.

So, here I am, broke and stuck with no way forward other than going back to live off my parents' (who won the job lottery and make a combined 80k a year which is INSANE for this country's standards and nowhere near the combined salaries me and my partner will EVER have and still have the gall to condescend me about how privileged my generation is). I'm just... so tired

MÅNESKIN SHOW REPORT NO ONE ASKED FOR TIME 🔥🔥🔥

the gig last night was HUGE 😳 I've never seen anything this big and wow. the band was super good, there were MANY solos (ethan and thomas mostly) and it reminded me a lot of 70s/80s huge rock shows and it really felt like an out of time experience. it was magical.

it was a 80k people show and there was so much variety?? there were children, elderly folks and everything in between. i saw people from austria, germany, spain (and angelina jolie and her daughter were there too 🤨) as well as people coming from all over italy! i also saw people of all styles and subcultures. honestly I'd been scared of feeling out of place because of my style but me and the bff were far from the only metalheads/goth people.

there were pyros and incredible stage lights making all kinds of effects! the giant screens showed the show in a way that i thought was super artistic (??). basically the production was HUGE, I've never seen anything like it, not even when i saw madonna in the 00's.

damiano is a literal god. he has an elegant mannerism when he sings that reminded me of young ville valo a lot which. you know. i like. but at the same time he seems very human and down to earth, a normal guy his age, for example when he went "LMAO look at my armpit hair on the giant screen" while he was talking in between songs. or when he said "now we're gonna show you something for the first time EVER" and obviously the crowd cheered, and he was like "lol i didn't even say what it is, could be the first time hearing thomas burping for all you know."

but it was actually A NEW SONG they were debuting, a ballad in english. it's still only a demo, and it's supposed to be the title track for their new album?? (but I'm not sure I understood that bit correctly).

i cried my eyes out during coraline LOL

ethan is a fucking BEAST (and good looking 😳), his drum solos were fire. victoria is so fucking good at bass and she's actually so damn gorgeous, if i was a teenager who was still searching for her style i swear she would be my main inspiration. thomas is also EXTREMELY good! and damiano holds an insane charisma, his vocals really really on point.

wow i thought this was going to be short because generally when i go to shows i have to travel and i usually go to the venue in the morning, whereas this time it was IN MY CITY and we got to the venue at like 6pm. i gotta say there's something extremely personal about homecoming shows. this is the first time im a fan of a roman artist (much less THIS BIG) so wow it almost felt like a national holiday that they were playing here and i do not feel very patriotic like ever but last night i felt kinda proud of being roman, especially since the venue was this ancient roman site. doesn't get any better than this

it was very tiring and my siblings and i got home at like 2am but it was so worth it! a great great show 🥺💖
