Introduction
Are you interested in finding a way to achieve financial freedom? Look no further than affiliate marketing! In this blog post, we will explore how affiliate marketing can provide you with a lucrative income stream and the opportunity to be your own boss.Â
By promoting other people's products and earning a commission, you can leverage the power of online marketing to reach a global audience and generate passive income. This means you don't have to create your own product to start earning money.Â
Affiliate marketing allows you to tap into the vast potential of the internet and make money while you sleep. With the right strategies and dedication, you can build a sustainable online business that brings in steady income.Â
So, if you're ready to embark on an unexpected path to financial freedom, keep reading. We'll delve into the various benefits and strategies of affiliate marketing that can help you achieve the financial independence you desire.
Section 1: No Need to Create Your Own Product
One of the most attractive aspects of affiliate marketing is that you don't need to create your own product. Instead, you can focus on promoting existing products or services that align with your interests and passions. By leveraging other people's products, you can bypass the time-consuming process of product development and jump straight into earning commissions.Â
This approach allows you to get started quickly, which is especially beneficial if you're looking for a way to generate income sooner rather than later. Additionally, by promoting established products, you can reduce the financial risks associated with launching your own product. The costs and uncertainties of product development, manufacturing, and inventory become someone else's responsibility, leaving you free to concentrate on marketing and driving sales.
Whether you're passionate about fitness, technology, or home decor, there's likely an affiliate program available to suit your interests. With the opportunity to earn income from products you genuinely believe in, affiliate marketing provides a flexible and rewarding path towards financial freedom.
Section 2: The Power of Online Marketing
Harness the power of online marketing to tap into a global audience and expand your income potential. With the rise of digital platforms, reaching customers from different parts of the world has become easier than ever before. Through affiliate marketing, you can utilize various online channels such as websites, social media, and email marketing to promote your affiliate links. This opens up opportunities to earn income while you sleep, as your marketing efforts work continuously in the digital realm.
Online marketing allows you to target specific demographics and interests, ensuring that your promotions reach the right audience. By leveraging the power of search engine optimization (SEO), you can increase your website's visibility and attract organic traffic. Additionally, social media platforms provide a vast network of potential customers who are actively engaged and ready to discover new products or services.
Email marketing is another effective tool in your online marketing arsenal. By building an email list of interested subscribers, you can regularly communicate with them, share valuable content, and promote your affiliate links. This direct line of communication helps you establish trust and credibility with your audience, increasing the likelihood of conversions.
In the digital age, the possibilities are endless. Embrace the power of online marketing to reach a global audience, expand your income potential, and achieve financial freedom.
Section 3: Be Your Own Boss
Imagine the freedom of being your own boss, setting your own schedule, and working from anywhere in the world. As an affiliate marketer, you have the autonomy to choose your niche, select the products you want to promote, and define your marketing strategies. This flexibility allows you to pursue your passions and build a business that aligns with your interests. Say goodbye to the constraints of traditional employment and embrace the freedom that affiliate marketing offers.
Being your own boss means you have the power to make decisions that directly impact your success. You have the freedom to experiment with different marketing techniques, explore new opportunities, and adapt your strategies as needed. No longer will you have to answer to a supervisor or adhere to someone else's vision. Instead, you can take charge of your own destiny and create a business that reflects your unique strengths and aspirations.
In the world of affiliate marketing, you are in control. You have the ability to set your own goals, determine your own income, and shape your own future. Whether you want to work part-time or build a full-time business, the choice is yours. So, take the leap, embrace the entrepreneurial spirit, and become your own boss in the exciting world of affiliate marketing.
Section 4: Diversify Your Income Streams
Affiliate marketing provides an opportunity to diversify your income streams and reduce financial risks. By promoting products across different niches, you can ensure that you are not solely reliant on a single income source. This diversification not only brings stability but also allows you to tap into various markets and adapt to changing trends.Â
Imagine having multiple streams of income flowing in from different sources. If one niche experiences fluctuations, you can rely on the others to keep generating revenue. This flexibility is crucial in the ever-changing world of online business.Â
Utilising your skills and passions, you can explore different niches and find products that align with your interests. This way, you can enjoy what you do while earning money. As you expand your affiliate portfolio, you can create a reliable and sustainable income stream that continues to generate even when one niche experiences fluctuations.Â
Diversifying your income streams through affiliate marketing is a smart move that can lead you on the path to financial freedom.
Section 5: Utilise Your Skills and Passions
Finding the perfect affiliate niche is not just about earning commissions, but also about utilising your existing skills and passions. Take some time to evaluate your interests and expertise. What topics or industries excite you? By focusing on areas that align with your skills and passions, you can build credibility and create content that resonates with your target audience.Â
When you are passionate about a subject, it shines through in your work. Your enthusiasm will captivate your audience and make them more likely to trust your recommendations. Plus, your existing knowledge and skills will give you a competitive edge in your chosen niche.Â
For example, if you have a background in finance, you could explore affiliate programs in the personal finance or investment industry. Your expertise will allow you to provide valuable insights and advice to your audience, establishing yourself as a trusted authority.
Remember, affiliate marketing is not just about making money; it's about sharing your passion and expertise with others. So, leverage your skills and passions to create content that not only drives sales but also brings you joy and fulfillment along the way.
Section 6: Develop Valuable Relationships
In the world of affiliate marketing, building relationships is crucial for long-term success. Connecting with top performers and industry players allows you to gain insights, exchange ideas, and collaborate on projects. By networking within the affiliate marketing community, you open doors to valuable partnerships, joint ventures, and mentorship opportunities. Surrounding yourself with like-minded individuals accelerates your growth and allows you to learn from those who have already achieved financial freedom through affiliate marketing.
To develop valuable relationships, start by attending industry conferences and events. These gatherings provide an excellent opportunity to meet influential people in the field. Additionally, join online forums and communities where you can engage with fellow affiliate marketers, ask questions, and share your experiences. Actively participate in discussions and offer help whenever possible.
Remember, relationships are built on trust and mutual support. Be genuine, provide value, and be willing to help others. By nurturing these connections, you'll create a strong network that can propel your affiliate marketing journey to new heights.
Section 7: Embrace the Digital Age
In today's digital age, e-commerce is thriving, and affiliate marketing is at the forefront of this boom. By embracing the digital landscape, you can tap into the enormous potential of the online market. The convenience of online shopping and the increasing number of internet users provide affiliate marketers with a vast pool of potential customers. Putting your marketing efforts in the digital space allows you to capitalise on this growing trend and maximise your earning potential.
With the rise of social media platforms, search engines, and online advertising, reaching your target audience has never been easier. You can leverage these digital tools to create engaging content, build a strong online presence, and attract customers to your affiliate products or services. Additionally, the ability to track and analyse data in real-time enables you to optimise your marketing strategies and make data-driven decisions.
Embracing the digital age opens up a world of opportunities for affiliate marketers. It allows you to reach a global audience, scale your business, and stay ahead of the competition. So, don't hesitate to dive into the digital realm and unlock the full potential of affiliate marketing.

Of Spilled Drinks and Spilled Truths (H.S One Shot +18)

General Masterlist
Summary: A weekend getaway with friends was supposed to be a break, but for Y/N and Harry, it becomes a turning point. After years of friendship riddled with unresolved feelings, some heated arguments gives way to confessions neither of them expected.
A/n: Hello, my loves! Hereâs a smutty one shot with some good friends to enemies to lovers plot, i hope you all enjoy this!
Word count: 9.2k
Warnings: Smut, spitting, some confrontation between friends.
You needed a breakâa well-deserved one. So when the group chat lit up with the message, âRoadtrip to Willowmist!â your eyes widened with excitement. Your 9-to-5 office job had been grinding you down, inch by inch, to the point where youâd even started contemplating quitting. But there were bills to pay: rent, groceries, your beat-up car, and a never-ending list of expenses that wouldnât magically disappear.
Every year, you and your friends planned a road trip. And every couple of years, that road trip led to Willowmistâthe cozy cabin owned by Elizaâs parents, who were generous enough to let your group use it whenever you needed an escape and the timing was perfect: it was May. The weather sat comfortably between warm and cool, ideal for hiking, swimming, and late-night bonfires.
Your friend group was a patchwork of personalities, a collection of memories, and an unshakable bond. Four girls and three boys: Aurora, Eliza, Harper, and you; Theo, Jasper, and Harry rounded out the crew. Youâd been inseparable since high school. Even as life pulled you to different colleges and jobs, youâd stayed close, bound by shared histories and inside jokes that no one else could ever understand. At this point, you all knew too much about one another to ever drift apartâlet alone become enemies. Normally, the trip always included all seven of youâplus the occasional âIâm seeing someone, can they come?â that inevitably added a new face to the mix.
You remembered how Auroraâs heart had been broken a dozen times (and how she still threw herself into love with reckless optimism), or the time Theo tripped and landed face-first in mud on the way to prom. Then there was Harper and Jasperâs ill-fated kissâa spur-of-the-moment thing that had ended with Harper nearly gagging because, as she later admitted, she was into girls. None of you had known it at the time, but looking back, it made perfect sense.
And then there was you and Harryâthe âtypical friendsâ who, back in high school, everyone loved to tease about how cute of a couple youâd make. But that idea never quite stuck with either of you. After Aurora, Harry was the one you were closest to in the group. He was the friend youâd call and put on speaker whenever an Uber driver seemed a bit too sketchy. He was also the one who knew exactly how stubborn and moody you could getâand somehow, he never seemed to mind. Until recently. Lately, you and Harry had been clashing more oftenânot full-blown fights, but tense discussions that always seemed to end with you sighing, "I donât really want to talk about this anymore," just to avoid things escalating into something worse. You werenât entirely sure what had changed, but lately, Harry seemed irritated by almost everything you said. If you shared a funny video, heâd roll his eyes and mutter, âThatâs lame. How can you even think thatâs funny?â Or there was the time he showed you a picture of a redhead, casually mentioning, âThis girl winked at me the other day,â to which you snapped back, âAnd? Like that means anything?â It was like every little exchange between you two had turned into a spark waiting to ignite.
The rest of the group had definitely noticed the growing tension between you and Harry. Whenever one of your âdiscussionsâ started, theyâd jump in to ease the mood, steering the conversation before it could get too heated. Still, you couldnât deny that you missed the late-night calls with himâthose moments when you could rant about things that felt too personal or odd to share in public. But then again, you were stubborn. And giving in first? That just wasnât your style.
Aurora: WILLOWMIST??? IâM IN!
Harper: Iâm still seeing Becca. Can she come?
Eliza: Yes, of course! We have my car and Theoâs, but heâs bringing Cassie plus the food. I think we might need another car just in case.
Harry: Mineâs available too.
Theo: Thatâs settled then. Letâs meet at my place on Friday to arrange everythingârooms, cars, food, etc.
Aurora: YAY! Iâm so excited!! You were excited. You always had a great time on the annual road trip. Now all that was left was to ask your boss for vacation time, and in three weeks, youâd be enjoying margaritas with the girls while the boys attempted their best backflips into the lakeâor whatever crazy stunt they wanted. You just needed a break.
When Friday arrived, you all gathered at Theoâs apartment, greeted everyone, and slid onto the couch next to Harry.
âWhatâs up, idiot?â he said, nudging your shoulder.
âWhatâs up, arsehole?â you replied with a smile.
This banter was your usual rhythmâteasing and familiarâbut somewhere between these playful jabs and the more serious arguments, the line was starting to blur.
âOkayyy, here it is,â Eliza announced, passing around a sheet of paper. She was crazy organized when it came to the annual tripâlaid out in neat detail were all the meals, groceries, how much each person would pay, gas expenses for each car, liquorâeverything.
âThis looks better than ever,â Jasper said. âWhat about the cars? Which one am I in?â
âYouâre with most of the foodâCassie and Theoâin his car,â Eliza replied. âIâm with Harper, Aurora, and Becca. And Y/N goes with Harry in his car.â
Everyone turned to look at both of you with unreadable expressions. You and Harry exchanged glances, then looked back at the group.
âWhat?â you both said in unison.
âNothing,â they murmured, and you frowned, sensing they knew something you didnât.
As everyone agreed on Elizaâs plan, the group scatteredâgrabbing beers and drifting into conversations about everything and nothing. You found yourself in the kitchen with Harper, listening to Aurora ramble on about some new guy, laughing every time Aurora made one of those hopelessly smitten faces.
âWhy donât you just invite him?â you asked.
âOh no, weâre not there yet,â Aurora replied. âBUT WE WILL BE.â And there was that face again.
âRori⌠get a grip,â Harper said with a chuckle, taking a sip of her beer.
Aurora made a mock glare at Harper and sighed. âAre you sure you want to ride with Harry? I can switch spots with you.â
âWhy wouldnât I be okay?â you asked, confused.
âYou two have been fighting a lot,â Harper said.
âYeah, well, heâs been annoying lately. But if he can manage to not be annoying for four hours, I think Iâm good,â you said with a casual shrug, as if it was no big deal.
âRightâŚâ Harper said, smirking. âYou both just need to shut up for four hours.â She chuckled, then flinched as Aurora playfully pinched her arm.
âHey!â Harper protested.
âGirls,â you said, waving off the tension, âI swear itâs fine. Yeah, weâre not getting along like we used to, but thatâs okay. Weâre not going to kill each other in four hours.â
Harper laughed. âWell, if you say so. Just donât come crying to us when you two end up yelling at each other halfway there.â
Aurora rolled her eyes but smiled. âHonestly, I think you guys need this trip more than anyone. Maybe some fresh air will remind you why youâve been friends all these years.â
You glanced at Harry across the room, who was chatting quietly with Jasper. Despite the tension, you could still see that familiar spark in his eyesâthe same one from all those years of friendship.
âYeah,â you said, taking a deep breath. âMaybe this trip is exactly what we need.â
The thought made you feel a little lighter. For now, you pushed the worries aside and joined the others, ready to enjoy the night.
The night was winding down, and the group was slowly saying their goodbyes. You and Harry ended up together by his car, the quiet tension between you still lingering.
âWant a ride home?â he asked, opening the door for you.
You nodded and slid into the passenger seat. As he started the engine, there was a brief silence before he glanced over and said casually, âSo, maybe after this trip, youâll finally admit I was right about everything.â
You blinked, caught off guard, and opened your mouth to respond, but before you could, Auroraâs voice came through the open window from where she was standing nearby.
âI think Iâm taking Y/N home tonight. Donât want you two turning a simple ride into a battlefield,â she said, opening your door.
Harry shot her a quick look, a half-smile tugging at his lips, and you let out an angry breath as his car left the driveway. âAre you sure you donât want to switch places with me?â said Aurora going to her car âIâm sure, iâll just get distracted with music or maybe iâll sleepâ you said
đˇ
The morning of the road trip was crisp and buzzing with excitement as everyone gathered at Jasperâs house. The driveway was a chaotic blend of backpacks, duffle bags, and coolers being shuffled between the cars. Harper and Becca were already snapping pictures by the front steps, while Eliza checked her meticulously detailed list for what felt like the tenth time.
âAlright, everyone, letâs make sure weâre not forgetting anything,â Eliza called, waving the list like a baton. âFood? Packed. Gas? Topped up. Harry?â
âWhat about me?â Harry asked, lugging a box of snacks toward his car.
âJust making sure youâre actually listening" Eliza teased, earning a small chuckle from Jasper.
âY/N, have you met Becca yet?â Harper called out, motioning you over while Harry busied himself adjusting something in the trunk.
âNot officially,â you said, walking over.
âThis is Becca, my girlfriend,â Harper said, her tone warm with pride. âBecca, this is Y/N, one of the best people I know, though a little too stubborn for her own good.â
You laughed and extended a hand. âNice to meet you, Becca. Anyone who can put up with Harperâs karaoke marathons gets my respect.â
Becca chuckled, shaking your hand. âNice to meet you too. Iâve heard plenty about this tripâit sounds like a blast.â
âOh, it will be,â Eliza chimed in as she passed by, lugging a cooler. âEspecially once we start roasting Theo at the bonfire. Itâs tradition.â Across the driveway, Cassie leaned over to Aurora with a sly grin. âHey, is it just me, or is there something weird going on between Y/N and Harry?â
Aurora raised an eyebrow but didnât look surprised. âWeird how?â
âI donât know,â Cassie said, glancing toward Harry, who was now arguing with Theo about fitting a cooler into his car. âItâs like... charged, you know? Are they a thing?â
Aurora laughed, loud enough to catch your attention for a second before she waved you off. âHarry and Y/N? Please. Theyâve been like that since high school. Itâs their love languageâbickering and driving each other insane.â
Cassie smirked. âSo theyâre not a thing?â
âNope. They are now in an âi hate youâ mood but give it time,â Aurora said with a wink before walking off to join Eliza.
Back by Harryâs car, he closed the trunk with a loud thud and looked at you expectantly. âReady, or are you going to keep bonding with Harperâs girlfriend all morning?â
You rolled your eyes. âDonât worry, Iâm all yours for the next four hours. Try not to cry from excitement.â
Harry smirked, opening the driverâs side door. âTrust me, Iâll manage.â
âAlright, people!â Theoâs voice boomed as he clapped his hands together. âLetâs hit the road before Eliza has a heart attack over her schedule.â
Everyone laughed as the final bags were loaded and doors slammed shut. As you buckled up, you heard Aurora shout from across the driveway, âRemember, no fighting! Or at least wait until weâre all out of earshot!â
The group chuckled as the caravan of cars started rolling out. You couldnât help but glance at Harry, who had a small, knowing smile on his face.
This was going to be a long drive.
The morning sun was starting to peek over the horizon as Harryâs car merged onto the highway. The steady hum of the engine filled the silence between you, and for a while, neither of you said a word.
You stared out the window, watching the trees blur by. Harry tapped his fingers against the steering wheel, his gaze fixed on the road. The silence was heavy but not unbearableâat least, not yet.
âYou want music or something?â he asked, breaking the silence.
âSure,â you said, reaching for the aux cable. You scrolled through your playlist, finally settling on something upbeat to lighten the mood. The opening chords of a pop song filled the car, and Harry let out a dramatic groan.
âThis? Really?â he said, glancing at you with mock disapproval.
âWhatâs wrong with this?â you shot back, raising an eyebrow.
âItâs just⌠basic,â he said with a smirk.
You scoffed. âComing from the guy who listens to dad rock like itâs still the â80s?â
âExcuse me, dad rock is timeless,â he said, and for a moment, the tension lifted as you both chuckled.
A few minutes later, he glanced over at you. âSo, are we going to talk about it?â
âTalk about what?â you said, feigning ignorance.
âThe fact that weâve canât get along for weeks now,â he said bluntly.
You stiffened in your seat, not expecting him to bring it up so soonâor at all. âI didnât know there was anything to talk about,â you said, keeping your tone light.
Harry sighed, running a hand through his hair. âYou know what I mean. Itâs like⌠everything I say pisses you off lately. And everything you sayââ
âmakes sense?â you interrupted, your voice sharper than you intended.
He glanced at you briefly before turning back to the road. The silence returned, heavier this time. The song ended, and the playlist moved on to another track, but neither of you made a move to acknowledge it. After a while, Harry spoke again, softer this time. âLook, I donât want this trip to suck because we canât figure out how to talk to each other anymore.â
You looked at him, his profile illuminated by the soft glow of the dashboard lights. âMe neither,â you admitted quietly.
It wasnât an apology, not yet, but it was a start.
đˇ
Elizaâs car was buzzing with chatter and laughter as they sped along the highway. Aurora was leaning back with her feet propped up on the dashboard, while Harper and Becca were cozied up in the backseat. Music played softly in the background, but the main soundtrack was their conversation.
âSo,â Aurora began, twisting in her seat to look at the others. âIs it just me, or is something definitely brewing between Y/N and Harry?â
Harper chuckled, resting her head on Beccarâs shoulder. âBrewing, as in tension so thick you could cut it with a knife? or brewing as if they are probably becoming the biggest enemies ever?â
âExactly!â Aurora exclaimed, waving her hand dramatically. âTheyâve been at each otherâs throats, but like⌠thereâs something there, right?âÂ
Harper rolled her eyes but smirked. âOh, totally. Y/N swears itâs just because Harryâs being âannoying,â but she gets so worked up over it. You donât react like that unless you care.â
âOr unless heâs genuinely annoying,â Becca teased
Eliza, who had been quietly listening, finally chimed in. âOkay, okay, but hear me outâI might know something.â
All three of them turned to her, eyes wide with curiosity.
âWhat do you mean âknow somethingâ?â Harper pressed, leaning forward in her seat.
âWellâŚâ Eliza hesitated, a mischievous smile playing on her lips. âRemember last yearâs trip to Brighton?â
âYeah?â Aurora said, practically bouncing in her seat.
âI overheard Harry talking to Theo one night,â Eliza said, glancing at the others for dramatic effect. âHe said something like, âItâs frustrating how she doesnât see it.ââ
âSee what?â Aurora gasped, clutching her chest as though this were the most scandalous thing sheâd ever heard. ââSheâ as in Y/N?â
âThatâs the thingâI donât know!â Eliza replied, laughing. âBut he sounded serious. And you know Harry never talks about his feelings unless heâs pushed to the brink. AND, who would he be talking about to Theo?
Harperâs eyebrows shot up. âOh, thatâs interesting...What if heâs into her and just doesnât know how to deal with it?â
âThat would explain why theyâve been so weird lately,â Becca added. âItâs like theyâre trying to keep things normal, but itâs not working.â
Aurora clapped her hands together. âThis is better than a rom-com. Iâm calling it nowâtheyâre either going to kill each other or finally kiss on this trip.â
âIâm betting on the kiss,â Eliza said with a knowing smirk.
âShould we meddle?â Harper asked, half-joking.
âAbsolutely not,â Eliza said, shaking her head. âThey need to figure this out on their own. Besides, the fireworks are way more fun to watch from the sidelines.â
The car erupted into laughter as they all imagined the chaos that might unfold, their gossip making the drive pass in no time.
đˇ
The hum of the car engine filled the silence between you and Harry. The tension was palpable, like a balloon stretched too tight, ready to pop at the slightest provocation. Both of you seemed acutely aware of it, navigating this territory of forced civility.
âSo,â you started, fiddling with the zipper of your jacket. âElizaâs car looked packed. Wonder if theyâll even have room for their bags once they hit the liquor store.â
Harry let out a dry chuckle, his eyes focused on the road. âKnowing Eliza, sheâs already calculated the exact cubic inches of trunk space available.â
You smiled slightly but didnât laugh. âYeah⌠probably.â
Another beat of silence.
âDid you, uh, bring anything for the cabin? Snacks or whatever?â Harry asked, his tone deliberately neutral.
âYeah, a couple of bags of chips and some candy,â you said. âNot that itâll matter with Aurora and Theo aroundâtheyâll eat it all by day two.â
âTrue,â he said with a faint smirk. âI brought some stuff too. Protein bars and trail mix.â
You snorted before you could stop yourself. âTrail mix? Are you eighty?â
Harry shot you a look, his brow arching. âExcuse me for being practical.â
âIâm just saying, nobody ever gets excited about trail mix,â you said, trying to keep your tone light but failing to hide the underlying edge.
âYeah, well, nobody gets excited about chips for the fifth year in a row, either,â he countered, his voice a little sharper than he probably intended.
You both fell silent again, the air in the car thickening.
This was itâthe moment you both knew could spiral into yet another argument. But instead of pushing further, you bit your tongue, staring out the window.
Harry exhaled heavily, gripping the steering wheel. âThis is stupid.â
You glanced at him, your brow furrowing. âWhat is?â
âThis,â he said, gesturing vaguely between the two of you. âTiptoeing around each other, trying not to say anything thatâll set the other off. Itâs exhausting. Youâre exhausting.â
You folded your arms across your chest. âWell, maybe if you didnât always have to have the last wordââ
âThere it is,â he interrupted, Harryâs knuckles whitened as he gripped the steering wheel, his jaw clenched tight. He pulled the car off the road into a small clearing, gravel crunching loudly under the tires. The sudden stop made your body jerk forward slightly
âWhat the hell are you doing?â you snapped, your voice rising with the frustration that had been bubbling beneath the surface.
Harry turned to face you, his green eyes sharp and stormy. âIâm tired of this, Y/N. Iâm tired of the constant bickering, the walking on eggshells, the... whatever this is!â He gestured wildly between you both, his voice rising in exasperation.
You blinked, taken aback by his outburst, but your own stubbornness flared up. âOh, so this is my fault now? Youâre the one whoâs been acting like everything I say is a personal attack!â
Harry scoffed, running a hand through his curls in frustration. âMaybe because half the time it feels like one! You canât even make a joke without it sounding like youâre trying to one-up me.â
You glared at him, heat rising in your cheeks. âOh, please. Youâve been nitpicking everything I do for weeks, Harry! And for what? To make yourself feel better?â
âIâm notââ he started, but then stopped himself, taking a deep breath. His jaw tightened as he looked away. âIâm not trying to make myself feel better, okay? I justââ
âWhat?â you pressed, your voice softer now but still firm.
âNothing,â he said quietly, restarting the car and merging back onto the road.
You were mad, but with an hour still left in the drive, you decided against saying anything else. Exhaustion was setting in, and all you wanted now was a bit of calm before reaching the cabin.Â
The silence stretched between you and Harry for the rest of the drive, thick with unspoken words. Neither of you tried to break it, too stubborn or too tired to make the first move. Outside, the trees blurred by, but inside the car, the tension was almost suffocating.
Finally, the cabin appeared, surrounded by tall pines and the quiet sounds of nature. One by one, the other cars pulled into the gravel driveway, laughter and chatter filling the air.
Aurora was the first to jump out, her bright smile unaware of the mood between you two. âWeâre officially here, and we all are alive and ready!â she called cheerfully.
You didnât respond. Instead, you quickly opened the door, stepped out, and headed straight for the cabin, slamming the front door behind you.
Aurora froze, then gave an awkward laugh. âWell⌠almost,â she said, glancing at everyone, who looked just as uncomfortable
Harry sighed heavily, resting his head on the steering wheel before looking over at Theo, who met his gaze with quiet understanding. Theo knew what was wrongâand so did Harry.
The group exchanged uneasy looks, the happy arrival now tinged with tension no one quite knew how to ease.
Aurora caught the look Harry gave Theo and immediately picked up on the unspoken message. She bit her lip, nodding subtly to herself as if filing it away for later.
She stepped back from the group, pretending to check her phone but really watching Harryâs car. Something was definitely off.
As everyone started unpacking, the usual buzz of activity returned. Jasper and Theo carried most of the groceries inside, while Eliza directed who should bring what where. Harper and Becca helped organize bags and handed out snacks and drinks. Laughter and chatter floated through the air, easing some of the earlier tension.
Aurora lingered nearby and after a moment, she quietly excused herself from the group and headed your way. She knocked gently on the door before stepping in.
You looked up, surprise flickering across your face but your frustration was still evident.
âHey,â Aurora said softly. âYou okay?â
You sighed, running a hand through your hair. âJust needed a minute.â
Aurora gave a small smile and sat down beside you. âIf you want to talk or need anything, Iâm here.â
âWe had an argumentâŚagainâ you said âI knowâŚabout what this time?â Aurora said coming near you and sitting on the bed next to yours âAbout everything, nonsense stupid stuffâŚâ you said sighing âi really think this is it..this is were our friendship comes to an endâ
Auroraâs eyes softened as she looked at you. âHey, donât say that. Friendships go through rough patches all the time. You two have been through so much togetherâthis canât be the end.â
You shook your head, feeling the weight of it all. âIt just feels different now. Like weâre not even on the same page anymore. Every little thing sets us off.â
Aurora reached out and gently squeezed your hand. âMaybe you both just need some space to breathe. Sometimes distance helps clear the fog.â
You looked down at your hands, considering. âMaybe⌠but it still hurts.â
âI get it,â Aurora said softly. âBut youâre not alone in this, okay? We all want this trip to be goodâfor you, for Harry, for everyone.â
You let out a shaky breath, grateful for her presence. âThanks, Roriâ
Aurora gave you a reassuring smile before standing up. âCome on, letâs get out there. Elizaâs schedule says today is a free dayâno planned activities. Perfect chance to just relax and breathe.â
You nodded and followed her out of the room, the tension in your chest easing just a little. Downstairs, the others were unpacking and settling in. The cabin already smelled like pine and wood smoke, a comforting scent that reminded you why this place was special.
Some of the group were organizing groceries, laughing as they juggled bags of snacks, drinks, and supplies. Theo was stacking firewood near the porch while Jasper and Harper were debating which music to play first.
Eliza was busy organizing the kitchen, checking off items on her meticulously planned list, while Becca was chatting animatedly with Cassie near the windows.
You found yourself drifting outside, the fresh air filling your lungs. Aurora stayed close, leaning against the railing beside you. For the first time in days, things felt a little lighter. Across the door, you caught Harryâs eye for just a moment. He looked away quickly, and you did the same, neither of you daring to break the fragile silence.
No words were exchanged between you two â just a shared glance heavy with everything left unsaid. The tension lingered, but for now, it stayed unspoken as the day slowly unwound around you.
In the Kitchen Theo grabbed Harryâs arm gently but firmly, pulling him aside near the pantry âHarry, man, what the hellâŚ,â Theo said quietly, locking eyes with him. âLook, I get it â things with you and Y/N have been rough lately. But this silence, the cold shoulders, the snappy comments? Itâs killing whateverâs left of you two.â
Harry ran a hand through his hair, frustration and guilt mixing on his face. âItâs complicated, Theo. I donât even know how to fix this. Every time I try to talk, it just ends up worse.â he whispered
Theo shook his head slowly. âThatâs exactly why you have to try. If you donât say whatâs on your mind, whatâs really bothering you⌠youâre just building a wall between you two that only gets higher. You risk losing her forever.â
Harryâs voice dropped. âWhat if I say something and it backfires? What if itâs too late?â
Theoâs gaze hardened a bit, but his tone stayed calm. âThen you deal with it. But at least youâll know you tried. Because not saying anything? Thatâs giving up without a fight. And youâre not that kind of guy. God, do you really like her? go on and fix this messâ
Harry sighed deeply, looking over at the cabin where you were. âI just donât want to make her feel worse. She deserves better than the mess Iâve become.â
Theo placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder. âNone of us are perfect. But being honest â thatâs how you show you care. That youâre willing to be vulnerable. You owe it to her, and to yourself.â
Harry nodded, swallowing hard.
Night had finally fallen over the cabin, the sky a deep navy blanket speckled with stars. Inside, the group had gathered around the large wooden table in the living room, the soft glow of lanterns and fairy lights creating a cozy atmosphere.
Eliza brought out an old, well-loved board game sheâd packedâa classic everyone enjoyed. The clatter of dice and the occasional burst of laughter slowly chipped away at the dayâs lingering tension. Harry and you found yourselves sitting across from each other, the game forcing a casual proximity neither had expected. For a while, the conversation was lightâteasing jokes about who was the worst at strategy and who always made the boldest moves.
As the game progressed, the distance between you started to shrink, the walls built by earlier arguments slowly softening under the shared moments and friendly competition.
Occasionally, your eyes met across the table, and though neither said a word.
But then
Harper rolled her eyes and said, âItâs not fair! I should be the one winning â youâre all just ganging up on me.â
You and Harry both blurted out at the same time, âWell, maybe you shouldnât be so bad at it.â
Everyone froze for a second, surprised by the identical replies. Jasper laughed and said, âAlright, alright, no team-ups! Letâs keep playing.â
The group quickly moved on, throwing dice and debating moves, but Harry and you exchanged a lingering look, the unspoken tension hanging in the air between you. Just as the moment stretched, Jasper, laughing too hard, accidentally knocked over his beer. The amber liquid splashed right onto your lap.
âOh no, sorry!â Jasper exclaimed, reaching for napkins.
You stood up quickly, brushing at your pants. âClassic Jasper, I'll go clean this up,â you said, trying to keep your frustration in check.
Theo caught Harryâs eye from across the room and gave him a meaningful look â one that said, Go check on her. Harry immediately stood up and went to the kitchen, where he found you pressing a damp cloth against your shorts, trying to clean the stain. He stood there for a moment, saying nothing. The nerves were building up inside himâso this was it, he thought. Gathering his courage to speak, he was surprised when you beat him to it.
âGo ahead,â you blurted out. âYou can say I look like I pissed myself.â
âI wasnât going to say that,â he replied softly.
âSure you werenât,â you said, rolling your eyes with a hint of sarcasm.
âCan we talk?â he asked quietly.
âTalk? Like the talk we had on the way here?â you shot back.
âNo, I meanâŚâ he sighed, running his hands through his hair in frustration. âOkay, then. Letâs just not talk. Just hear me out.â
âAnd why would I want to hear you?â you challenged.
âPlease? Just⌠give me two minutes, and then you can even slap me if you want,â he pleaded.
The silence between you was thick, broken only by the faint laughter and chatter from the living room. You leaned against the counter, arms crossed, staring at Harry with a mixture of irritation and exhaustion.
âTwo minutes,â you said sharply. âGo.â
Harry nodded, exhaling deeply as he ran a hand through his hair. His nerves were on edge, and for a moment, he looked like he might bolt instead of speak. But then, he met your eyes, his jaw tightening as if steeling himself.
âI know Iâve been an ass,â he began, his voice low. âI know Iâve said things that hurt you, and I know Iâve pushed you awayâprobably more than you deserved. But itâs not because I hate you, or because I donât care.â
You raised an eyebrow, your arms tightening across your chest, but you stayed silent.
âItâs the opposite,â he admitted, his gaze dropping to the floor for a moment before he looked back at you. âIâve been pushing you away because I started to feel⌠things I wasnât ready for. Things I didnât know how to handle. And instead of dealing with it like a normal person, I acted like an idiot.â
âHarry,â you said softly, unsure of where this was going.
He took a step closer, the weight of his words visibly pressing on him. âI didnât want to ruin what we had. I thought if I could keep things the way they were, if I could just bury it, weâd be fine. But I canât anymore. Because somewhere along the way, I started falling in love with you.â
The words hung in the air, his confession knocking the wind out of you. Your breath hitched, your mind scrambling to process what heâd just said. You searched his face for any hint of hesitation or insincerity, but all you saw was raw, unfiltered honesty.
âYouâŚâ you began, your voice trembling. âYouâre in love with me?â
âYes,â he said simply, his eyes never leaving yours. âAnd I know Iâve done everything wrong. I know Iâve hurt you, and I donât expect you to feel the same way. But I couldnât keep it in anymore. You deserved to know.â
Your heart thudded in your chest, the walls youâd carefully built around yourself cracking under the weight of his confession. A part of you wanted to lash out, to throw his words back at him for all the hurt heâd caused. But another partâthe part that had always held a soft spot for himâwanted to believe he was telling the truth.
âI donât know what to say,â you whispered, your arms falling to your sides.
âYou donât have to say anything,â he said quickly. âI just needed you to hear it. To know that everything Iâve doneâeven the stupid, hurtful stuffâcame from a place I didnât understand until now.â
The sound of footsteps in the hallway broke the moment. Theoâs voice called out, âYou two alive in there? The gameâs getting intense, and Harperâs threatening to flip the board.â
Harry gave a faint smile, his eyes still locked on yours. âWeâre fine,â he called back before lowering his voice. âIâll give you space if thatâs what you need. Just⌠donât shut me out completely. Please.â
You nodded slowly, the weight of his confession settling over you as he stepped back, giving you the room to breathe.
For the first time in what felt like forever, the tension between you wasnât suffocating. It was heavy, yes, but there was something else there nowâa flicker of possibility, of hope.
You returned to the living room, the hum of chatter and laughter greeting you as you stepped inside. The group was still gathered around the board game, arguing playfully over the rules. It all seemed normal, like nothing had changedâbut for you and Harry, everything had.
Aurora caught your eye first, her brow furrowing slightly as she noticed the look on your face. You quickly glanced away, not ready for questions. Sitting back down in your spot, you tried to blend back in, but the weight of Harryâs confession was impossible to ignore. Harry followed a few moments later, taking his seat with a small, relieved exhale. He avoided looking directly at you, but the tension in his shoulders seemed to have eased ever so slightly.
Theo, ever perceptive, glanced between the two of you. His lips quirked into a subtle, knowing smile before he turned his attention back to the game.
Harper noticed something too, narrowing her eyes as she pointed her game piece accusingly at Harry. âYouâve got that look,â she said teasingly. âLike you just got away with something.â
âWhat look?â Harry asked, a faint smirk tugging at his lips as he avoided the trap.
âThe smug one,â Jasper chimed in, grinning. âBut then again, you always look like that.â
The group laughed, and you used the moment to ground yourself, focusing on the lighthearted banter. The tension wasnât gone, but it had shifted. Instead of anger and frustration, there was now a strange, unspoken understanding between you and Harryâan acknowledgment that something had cracked open.
Aurora leaned over slightly, her voice low as she nudged you with her elbow. âYou good?â
âYeah,â you said quickly, forcing a small smile. âJust tired.â
She didnât press, but her eyes lingered on you for a beat longer before she shrugged and joined the game again. The evening wore on, and the atmosphere gradually lightened. Drinks were poured, jokes were made, and for a moment, you almost forgot the storm swirling in your mind. Almost.
Across the room, Harry caught your gaze. It wasnât intentionalâjust a fleeting moment when your eyes met. But in that split second, everything heâd said in the kitchen came rushing back. You could see it in his expression: the relief, the vulnerability, and maybe even a flicker of hope. You looked away quickly, your stomach twisting into knots. The rest of the group might not have known what had happened between you two, but they could sense the difference. It was subtle but undeniable, a shift in the air that no one dared to point out directly.
For now, the game continued, the laughter grew louder, and the night pressed on. But beneath it all, the conversation in the kitchen lingered, an unspoken thread tying you and Harry together in a way that neither of you could ignore.
The cabin had finally quieted down for the night. The distant sound of crickets outside the window filled the room, a gentle reminder of how far removed you were from the chaos of the cityâand the chaos of your own thoughts. Lying on your bed, you stared up at the wooden ceiling, replaying the conversation with Harry over and over again. His words were etched into your mind, the way his voice cracked slightly when he confessed: âI started to fall in love with you.â
Your chest tightened at the memory, a cocktail of emotions swirling within you. Anger, confusion, disbeliefâbut above all, the undeniable realization that you felt something too.
You squeezed your eyes shut, frustrated with yourself. After all the fights, the snide comments, the years of stubbornness between you two, how could it have come to this? But the truth was impossible to deny: somewhere along the way, you had fallen for him too. You hated admitting it, even to yourself. It felt like losing a battle you didnât even know you were fighting. Yet, there it wasâthe tug in your chest whenever he looked at you, the way your heart raced during those rare moments when you werenât at each otherâs throats.
A soft knock on the door broke your thoughts.
Your heart jumped, and for a moment, you froze, staring at the shadow under the door.
âY/N?â
Harryâs voice was quiet, tentative.
You sat up slowly, your pulse quickening. For a second, you debated ignoring him, pretending to be asleep, anything to delay the inevitable. But deep down, you knew you couldnât avoid him forever.
âYeah?â you finally said, your voice barely above a whisper.
There was a pause before he replied. âCan I come in?â
You hesitated, your fingers gripping the edge of the blanket. Taking a deep breath, you managed to find your voice.
âOkay.â
The door creaked open, and Harry stepped inside, his expression unreadable in the dim light. He stood there for a moment, as if unsure what to say or do.
âI know itâs late,â he started, his voice soft. âBut I couldnât stop thinking about⌠everything.â
Harry stood just inside the door, his hands in his pockets, looking more vulnerable than youâd ever seen him. His usual confidence was absent, replaced by a quiet uncertainty.
You nodded toward the chair by the window. âSit.â
He hesitated for a moment, then moved to the chair, dragging it closer to the bed but not too close. He sat down, leaning forward with his elbows on his knees, and you could see the tension in his shoulders.
âIâm sorry,â he started, his voice barely above a whisper. âFor everything. For pushing you away. For being such an idiot half the time.â
You blinked, caught off guard by the rawness in his tone.
He ran a hand through his hair, looking down at the floor. âI donât know when it happened, or how, but somewhere along the line, I stopped just⌠seeing you as my best friend. And I got scared, Y/N. I didnât know how to deal with it, so I kept messing things up.â
You stayed quiet, letting him speak.
âAll those fights, the stupid things Iâd sayâit wasnât because I hated you. It was because I didnât know how to handle what I was feeling. And I thought maybe if I pushed you far enough away, I could stop feeling like this.â He looked up at you then, his green eyes searching yours. âBut it didnât work. It just made me miserable. And I know Iâve probably ruined everything, but I had to tell you. You deserve to know.â
You stared at him, your heart pounding in your chest. For once, there was no sarcasm, no walls between you two. Just Harry, laying it all out there.
âI donât even know what to say,â you admitted, your voice barely audible. âThisâthis changes everything, Harry.â
âI know,â he said quickly, leaning forward. âAnd I donât expect you to feel the same way. I justâI needed you to know. Whatever happens next, itâs up to you. I just couldnât keep pretending anymore.â
The room fell into silence again, the weight of his confession hanging in the air.
âI hated you,â you said suddenly, your voice trembling. Harry flinched, but you shook your head. âNot really. But I wanted to. It wouldâve been easier if I did. Because the truth is, I think Iâve felt the same way for a long time. I just didnât want to admit it either.â
His eyes widened, hope flickering in them.
âBut you drive me insane,â you continued, a small, incredulous laugh escaping you. âAnd Iâve spent so much time convincing myself that you and I could never work that I donât even know where to start, and maybe thatâs why i wanted to be right all the timeâ
âWe can figure it out,â he said, his voice steady now. âI know Iâve been an ass, but I want to try. Iâll do whatever it takes.â
You stared at him, the sincerity in his voice breaking down the last of your defenses.
âOkay,â you whispered.
âOkay?â he repeated, almost as if he couldnât believe it.
âYeah,â you said, a small smile tugging at your lips.
Harryâs grin softened as he looked at you, his gaze lingering just a moment too long. The air between you shifted again, the tension returning but of a completely different kind. It was warm, electrified, as if the room itself was holding its breath. He stood slowly, moving closer to where you sat on the bed. His eyes never left yours, searching for any sign that you might change your mind or pull away.
âY/N,â he said softly, his voice low and cautious, like he was treading on fragile ground.
You didnât answer. Instead, you leaned forward, quickly, closing the space between you in a movement so instinctive it surprised you both. When your lips met, it was hesitant at first, a testing of boundaries, but that hesitation didnât last long. Harryâs hands cupped your face, pulling you closer as the kiss deepened. It wasnât just a kissâit was a release of everything unsaid, every argument, every stolen glance, every moment of yearning that had gone unspoken until now.
Your hands found their way to his hair, tugging lightly, and he groaned against your lips, the sound sending shivers down your spine. His touch was gentle yet demanding, as if he couldnât quite believe this was real but wasnât about to let it go.
When you broke apart, breathless and flushed, his forehead rested against yours, and his eyes fluttered open to meet your gaze.
âAre you sure about this?â he asked, his voice hoarse, the vulnerability in his eyes unmistakable.
Instead of answering, you tugged him back down, your lips meeting his again with more urgency this time. You shifted back on the bed, and Harry followed, his weight pressing down on you in a way that felt grounding, solid, and intoxicating all at once.
His kisses trailed from your lips to your jaw, then down your neck, leaving a path of warmth that made your skin tingle. Your hands moved restlessly, exploring the breadth of his shoulders, the curve of his back, as if trying to memorize every part of him.
âY/N,â he murmured against your skin, his voice laced with reverence and restraint.
You pulled back just enough to meet his gaze, your breathing uneven. âHarry,â you whispered, your voice steady despite the storm of emotions swirling within you. In one swift motion, you pulled your shirt over your head, leaving your chest bare. You had never been a fan of wearing a bra to bed, and the soft glow of the moonlight cast an intimate light over your exposed skin.
âFuck,â Harry murmured, his voice low and rough as his gaze fell to your bare chest. His eyes darkened, and his lips parted slightly as he took in the sight before him. A wave of desire coursed through him, his body responding instinctively. Without hesitation, he leaned down, his lips capturing your left nipple. His tongue swirled over the sensitive skin, drawing a sharp gasp from you. At the same time, his hand slid up to your other breast, his fingers kneading gently yet firmly. âAre you sure?â he mumbled against your breast âIf you ask me again, I swearâŚâ you murmured, your voice already breathless and tinged with pleasure.
Harry paused, his fingers teasingly slipping beneath the waistband of your pajama shorts. His voice was steady but laced with restraint. âI need vocal consent,â he said softly, his eyes searching yours. âI need to know this isnât just out of lust.â
Your body ached with anticipation, and your frustration spilled out in a desperate plea. âHarry, I swear, if you donât fuck me right nowââ
A grin tugged at his lips. âThatâs good enough,â he whispered before crashing his mouth against yours, his kiss igniting every nerve in your body. Harry tugged at the elastic of your shorts, and you quickly wriggled out of them, your hands already moving to his shirt. You broke the kiss just long enough for him to pull it over his head, and your eyes lingered for a moment, taking him in. His well-built frame, the tattoos scattered across his skin, and⌠the undeniable bulge straining against his pants. Youâd always known he was bigâyears of seeing him in wet swim shorts that left far too little to the imagination had made that impossible to ignore.
Before you could dwell on it, Harryâs lips found yours again with an urgency that made your head spin. His kiss was intoxicating, almost desperate, as though he feared you might disappear if this was nothing but a dream. One of his hands kneaded your ass, pulling you impossibly closer, while your fingers tugged at the waistband of his trousers, eager to free him of the last barrier between you, Harry quickly pushed his trousers and briefs down in one smooth motion, letting his throbbing cock spring free, the tip flushed and glistening as it slapped against his abdomen. The sight made your breath hitch, a mix of nerves and anticipation pooling in your stomach. âFuck!â he groaned, closing his eyes and quickly looking away.
âWhatâs wrong?â you asked, frowning as you held onto his shoulders.
âI donât have condoms,â he admitted quietly.
âI donât either,â you said, the realization hitting you. âTheo might have someâheâs here with Cassie,â you added desperately.
âI canât just ask him for condoms now. What am I even supposed to say?â
âFuckâŚâ you breathed out. âIâm clean, I swear. Havenât gotten laid in the last six months, and my last screen came back clean.â
âIâm clean too. I can show youâI have it on my phone,â he said, looking around for his phone. But before he could reach for it, you cupped his face in your hands.
âI trust you,â you said softly. That meaning more than just trusting him on that specific thing. âIâm on the pill as well.â
He hesitated for a moment, then muttered, âAre you⌠fuck,â before snapping, and crashing his lips onto yours again.
One hand wrapped around his length, pumping slowly at the base, while the other found the damp fabric of your thong. Tugging it aside, his fingers quickly became slick with your arousal, making you whimper softly at the sensation.
âShit,â he breathed, pushing two fingers slowly inside you. A small moan escaped your lips. âYouâre a fucking dream,â he murmured, pressing his forehead gently against yours. âLook at me,â he whispered as he continued pumping his fingers in and out of you.
âI need you,â you gasped, voice trembling with need.
Harryâs eyes darkened with hunger as he withdrew his fingers slowly, bringing them to his mouth to taste you. âFucking sweetâ he whispered against your skin.
He positioned himself carefully, lips trailing hot kisses down your neck, each touch setting you aflame. Every second stretched, filled with raw, aching anticipation, dragging his tip through your folds, slowly âHarryâ you whimpered
And he finally entered you, slow and deliberate, you both froze for a moment, breathing each other in, hearts pounding in unison.
âFuck, you feel incredible,â he groaned, moving with growing intensity, every thrust sending waves of pleasure crashing through you. âSo fucking tight.â
You moaned at the feeling of him inside you, stretched perfectly, hitting every needy spot. âYes⌠fffuââ your voice grew louder until he placed a hand gently over your mouth.
âAs much as I want to hear those delicious sounds you make,â he murmured, pumping slowly, âweâre too close to Aurora and Elizaâs room.â You cursed silently, desperate to scream out in pleasure. You knew you were loud, so keeping quiet was going to be a real challenge. He began thrusting into you faster, filled with urgent need, feeling every inch of you. âYouâre perfect... so good for me,â he groaned. âFuck me harder,â you mumbled against his hand.
âHarder? Thatâs how you like it, love? Hard?â he asked, driving his thrusts with more force.
âYes⌠yes, I like it hard,â you managed to say, but before you could say more, he slid two fingers into your mouth.
âSuck,â he commanded, locking his gaze on you, and you gladly obeyed âLook at meâ he said still lost in pleasure âyou look amazing like thisâ He pulled back, leaving you gasping at the sudden emptiness, your lips still tingling from the contact.
âTurn around,â he murmured, his voice low and urgent, as he gently helped you shift. His gaze raked over your curves, lingering on your ass for a moment before he delivered a sharp, teasing spank. With a slow, deliberate motion, he tugged your thong aside again, exposing your swollen, puffy core that ached with need. Without hesitation, he spat a warm drop of saliva onto you, the wetness spreading and glistening under the dim light. Then, with a powerful thrust, he sank back inside you, filling you completely once more.
His hands gripped your hips firmly, guiding each deep, powerful thrust as he set a relentless pace. You bit your lip to keep from crying out but some moans escaped your mouth, the heat and pleasure crashing over you in waves.
âGod, fucking pussy all mine,â he groaned, his voice thick with need. His mouth found your neck, pressing hot, open-mouthed kisses while his hips slammed into yours.
You arched back, your fingers digging into the sheets as he stretched you perfectly, hitting every sensitive spot. The room was filled with the sounds of skin meeting skin and your shallow breaths.
âHarry,â you gasped, barely able to hold back, âplease, donât stop.â
He smiled against your skin, a rough, hungry smile. âSay it againâ looking down at where your bodies merged
âHarryâŚâ you whispered, voice trembling, eyes fluttering shut. Your hips began to lift involuntarily, matching his rhythm as waves of pleasure started to ripple from deep inside you. âiâmâŚ.iâm about toâ you moaned His hand slid from your hip to grip your waist tightly, anchoring you as your body tensed, muscles clenched. The heat in your core became unbearable, a delicious pressure pulsing and tightening until it felt like you were about to shatter. Your breath came in short gasps, your heart pounding so loud it felt like it would burst through your chest. âComeâŚcome all over my cockâ he murmured against your skin, voice rough but steady. And thenârelease. A shudder tore through you, your muscles spasming around him as waves of bliss crashed over your body. You cried out softly, the sound muffled by the pillow, your entire being consumed by pleasure. He kept moving, slow and sure, prolonging the moment, grounding you as you rode out the tremors of your orgasm. Still buried deep inside you, Harryâs own control snapped. With a low, guttural groan, his hips jerked harder, driving into you with desperate need. His breath hitched, and his grip on your waist tightened as the tension built to an unbearable peak.
âFuckââ he gasped, his voice rough and raw, before his body tensed and he spilled inside you, every shuddering thrust fueling the powerful release. You felt him fill you completely, hot cum now drenching your insides, warmth spreading through you as he held you close, grounding both of you in that intense, intimate moment.
Slowly, his movements softened, and he collapsed gently beside you, forehead resting against yours, both of you breathing heavily, connected and utterly spent.
You stayed still for a moment, your breaths mingling in the quiet room. The tension that had hung so heavily between you felt like it had finally begun to melt away. Harryâs heartbeat was steady against your skin, grounding you in the here and now.
âIâve wanted that for a long time,â he whispered, his voice barely audible.
You looked up at him, your eyes shining with a mixture of relief and something softerâsomething hopeful. âMe too,â you admitted, your fingers tracing lazy circles on his chest.
He smiled, a tired but genuine curve of his lips. âMaybe this is the start of figuring things out. Together.â
You nodded, leaning into him, feeling warmth spread through youânot just from the moment youâd shared, but from the possibility of what could come next.
đˇ
The next morning, sunlight filtered softly through the cabin windows as everyone bustled around the kitchen, the smell of coffee and frying bacon filling the air. Plates clattered, eggs sizzled, and casual chatter floated through the room, but there was an unspoken agreementâno one was quite ready to bring up what had happened the night before.
You and Harry sat a bit apart on the sofa, exchanging shy smiles and quiet giggles, both pretending to focus on the morning but clearly still wrapped up in your own bubble. Last night was still a secret between both. Or so you thought.
Suddenly, Aurora appeared in the kitchen frowning âThanks, Theo and Cassie, for fucking so loudly last night,â she said loudly, teasing. âI couldnât even mute the sounds with my noise-cancelling headphones.â
Everyone froze, exchanging confused glances. Cassie blinked, genuinely puzzled. âWe didnât fuck last night. I was too tiredâI fell asleep pretty quickly,â she replied, her voice calm.
Everyone was confused, if Theo and Cassie didnât fuck and Aurora was certain he heard a male and female voice thenâŚ
All eyes swung toward you and Harry on the sofa.
âTheyâre looking at usâ you said whispering
âThey are stupid donât worryâ he said making you giggle
In fact, they werenât, they immediately knew everything.

I think both tos and aos Jim survived Tarsus. but I think tos Jim was older (15-17) and aos Jim was younger (10-12).
I think tos Jim became the de facto leader of children survivors (as we see with Kevin Riley and Thomas), because of his age. That Jim carries the survivorâs guilt of not being able to save more kidsâof watching the youngest ones die (ostensibly) in his care. his coping mechanism is thus leadershipâusurping and clinging to positions of authority in an effort to save others; he craves authority, wants and needs to embody it to turn it into something that wouldâve saved the others, wouldâve saved him. Starfleet becomes his white whale. he needs the myth of Starfleetâan intergalactic emblem of peace, carving through deep space purely to discover (and defend). he embraces starfleetâs militarism because it echoes his understanding of power (some evils need to be defeated; innocents need to be protected). Jim also loves to defendâto entrench and hold boundaries (with the Klingons, the Romulans, with any hostile life). deep space is at the same time mysticalâwhere birth and rebirth are always possible, where miracles happen every dayâand orderly, where regulations and boundaries are clearly defined. Jim finds solace and role stability in this space, defending others, acting as a father figure, and indulging in hyper-independence & isolation.
thatâs how we get tos Jim, whoâs desperate for connection & intimacy, but ultimately clings to his leadership role like it can sustain himâlike itâs all that can sustain him. (love, youâre better off without it, and Iâm better off without mine. this ship, I give, she takesâŚIâm the captainâŚIâve lost the enterprise, Iâm losing commandâŚnothing is more important than my ship) the guardian role is essential to his self-image.
conversely, aos Jim was the child. he was the scared, too-skinny kid who had the rug ripped from under him. aos Jim is born into a world where fatherhood/authority is already dead; George Kirkâs absence is a gaping hole in his life. Starfleetâs idealism makes martyrs, but it also cannibalizes its men to sustain its ideals. Georgeâs replacement, Frank, neglects if not abuses him. that Jim witnesses the complete breakdown of authority. he watches Starfleet come with too little, too late. he sees the older kids die. he watches his only solace from Frankâs terror, his fresh start, become a waking nightmare.
that Jim learns that no one is coming.
his coping mechanisms are withdrawal from the system entirely; to bare his teeth at it, to claw at it, to draw blood. scare them before they can scare you. act bigger than you are. appearances are everything. to distrust authority entirely. give up on Starfleet, because Starfleet is an empty vaccum that will take and take, ineffectual at its core and hypocritical at best.
instead of being defined by his attraction to space, aos Jim is defined by his inability to stay still; his distaste for Earth, for Iowa, for groundedness. for him, staying in Riverside is a kind of self-harm, one he doesnât understand how to escape and ultimately believes he deserves.
this Jim is lonely not because he uses distance as a defense, but because heâs so distrustful of others, he genuinely canât imagine an open hand. (enlist?)
thatâs how we get the Jim that ultimately cares way more about his crew than his ship; who latches onto Bones like a leech and craves Spock; who wants connection with far less shame has absolutely no expectation of receiving it. this is the Jim that blares sabotage while charging into battle, says fuck you to the admiralty, and would rather die saving lives than live with taking themâthatâs what I was raised on.
thereâs also the fact that tos Jim is a Jewish man written in an era of liberal internationalist optimism underscored by the early Cold War and the shadows of the Shoah whereas aos Jim is the flashy product of peak commercialized Hollywood in a post-9/11, post George-Bush America. anyways.

December | Tokyo, Japan | Monday
âKento, are you stupid or dumb?â Haibara coldly spits through the phone. âYou have what, like 5 days? My god, where is your brain dude?âÂ
âIâm a businessman,â Nanami responds, with shaky sighs escaping from between his lips as he enters the lobby of their job. âI made a deal, and she accepted the terms. When have I ever lost a deal?âÂ
âThis all could have been avoided if you just said the other shit you told me,â Haibara groaned. âHow sheâs pretty, and the way you are able to open up to her.âÂ
Nanami lets out his own sigh, as his friend was probably right. âShe⌠made me nervous. I only know how to be professional and talk in working terms. Iâm not good at anything else.âÂ
âAnd now sheâs pissed off, so fantastic work, Head of Department,â Haibara says before sucking his teeth.Â
Nanami walks into the elevator, one hand buried in his pocket while the other holding his phone tiredly at his ear. A few other colleagues enter, giving Nanami a curt bow before pressing their floor button. âIs she in yet, by the way?â Nanami asks, a twinge of optimism in his tongue.Â
âOf course she is,â Haibara hummed, the sounds of papers being sifted in the background. âShe even asked for me to get your cup of coffee since sheâs in a meeting right now.âÂ
Nanamiâs eyebrow raised, âmeeting?âÂ
Haibara murmurs a âhold on,â the only sound to be heard was Haibara walking past several cubicles and work conversations. After finding a quiet place, Haibara brings the phone close to his mouth while cupping it with his other hand, âsheâs in a meeting with shacho. âm not sure what itâs about, but he went to her desk the moment she clocked in.âÂ
What? âDid it seem like she was in trouble?â Nanami questions, his heart skipping a beat or two.Â
Haibara shrugs, ââm not sure, but I think it has to do with her promotion. Shacho mentioned it during the client lunch the other day, remember?âÂ
âThatâs right,â Nanami lets out slowly, recalling that day in his head. That day, your usually tidy hair had a small lock of it sticking out from behind your ear. That same day is why Nanami wishes for hindsight almost constantly. âI wonderâŚâÂ
âRight?â Haibara whispers curiously. âWhatever promotion she gets, she earned it for sure.âÂ
The elevator doors open, and Nanami quickly rushes into the office. âMeet me in front of Takada shachoâs office.âÂ
âGive me a few minutes, and Iâll be right there!â Haibara calls out. Nanami turns around to see his dark-haired partner behind him, sheepishly waving his phone in the air. Nanami hangs up and walks up to him, curious of his intentions. âYouâre gonna owe me about $150 after this.âÂ
Nanami looks around before getting close to Haibaraâs. A few strands of blond hair escape Nanamiâs usually kempt hair. âWhat the hell did you buy?â He whispers, practically hisses.Â
Albeit his nerves, Haibara looks up at him with a smirk, âwhen have I ever let you down, Kento?âÂ
âNever, but you best not start today,â Nanami growls, pulling away before making a quick stride over to Takadaâs office.Â
As he did, he noticed many of his colleagues peer curiously from their cubicle over to Takadaâs office as well, with other eyes peering at your own desk for your return. A sea of whispers then started to surround Nanami as everyone noticed his arrival. Quiet, respectful greetings and curt bows create the aura around him as Nanami nods in acknowledgement. It was all just too curious for Nanami, as he felt the itch to know what he didnât.Â
But he could swear his eyes were deceiving him when he saw the backs of both Geto and Ieiri.Â
âGeto, Ieiri,â Nanami addresses them in a firm, yet soft tone.Â
Geto is first to turn, his long raven hair flowing from his movement. He usually had the top part of his hair bunned, but he decided to let his entire mane out today. Peculiar, Nanami mentally noted. It was also peculiar that Geto himself had a large bouquet of winter white lilies. âKento,â Geto begins, a warm yet deceitful smile is pulled from each end of his lips. He offers his free hand, in which Nanami reluctantly shakes.Â
Nanami has no issues with Geto, of course. All of them went to school together, Shoko and Haibara included. There has never been, and will never be, any beef between the two gentlemen. Of course, Nanami felt hesitant with him now, considering Geto hired you initially, and you were now under Nanami. There was a sudden and inexplicable feeling within the hazel-eyed man. Nanami was⌠nervous.Â
Getoâs obsidian orbs werenât helping with that, either.Â
âWhy so formal?â Ieiri sounded from his right side, pulling him out of his locked gaze with Geto. Nanami snatches his hand back, and quickly offers it to Ieiri, who teasingly just shakes the tips of his fingers. Her free hand held a small red box with a gold ribbon tied around it. âItâs been a little while, Kento. You never come up to visit.âÂ
âItâs because I work,â Nanami hums, letting her hand go to shove both his hands in his pockets. He needed some sort of solid ground, and his pockets felt safe. âAnd so do you both, considering weâre all department heads here.âÂ
âThat we are,â Geto hums, âit has been quite crazy in Legal, considering how many clients the both of you have been pulling in.âÂ
Ieiri stows away a lock of her auburn hair behind her ear, gently lowering the cigarette she had hidden. âSales has been quite crazy,â Ieiri said slowly, âhence why Iâm down here. âm looking for my girl that you snatched from me.âÂ
Nanami squints his eyes, staring Ieiri down. But after realizing her words, his eyes slightly widened, âdo you, by any chance, know what her promotion is about then?â He looks over at Geto as well, silently extending that question to him.Â
Ieiri widened her eyes in confusion, with Geto raising his eyebrow in curiosity. âYou⌠donât know?â Geto asks, each word burned off his tongue in humor.Â
Nanami was annoyed from not knowing, âI donât if Iâm asking. Why would I know?â
Ieiri taps at her bottom lip with the tip of her index, âwell, you are her manager. Youâd be the one that Takada shacho would talk to regarding Y/Nâs growth within the company.âÂ
It did raise curiosity that Takada would mention Y/Nâs promotion aloud in front of him and clients that have no relevance. But, Nanami did have some expectation to talk about your future promotion with Takada, whatever that would pertain. It felt somewhat like betrayal, considering how much Takada confided in him. Nanami could only hope it was with right intentions that he was not included in his assistant's promotion.Â
âI have no say in how he makes his decisions,â Nanamiâs eyes narrow at the door before them. He takes a deep breath, closing his eyes to calm his nerves. âI can only hope it is a promotion that is to her liking.âÂ
âI can give you a hint if you want,â Ieiri teases with a toothy grin. Geto clutches the bouquet a little tighter as she piques Nanamiâs interest. He looks over to her, noticing her adjusting her long, black dress. She pulls off pieces of lint, torturing him purposely with the wait. âI heard a rumor that⌠this promotion is a role that is above all of ours.âÂ
Nanami, at the moment, was beyond proud of you. He couldnât even conceal his smile, feeling pangs of excitement in his heart. He was glad that you were seen exactly the way he sees you. Intelligent, capable, overachieving, and approachable. You work with such grace, and exude so much warmth as a person. You getting promoted to a position much greater than his is truly an honor. He was lucky to have a small role in your success, if you considered his significance.Â
âBut supposedly she will still reside within one of our departments,â Geto hums quietly. Nanami gives him a look, but Geto shrugs, âthatâs all I know.âÂ
Nanamiâs smile calmed, âI donât see the need for her to transfer out of Finance, though.âÂ
âIs that right?â Geto questions with a smirk. âYou have your department completely sorted, besides how nosey they are.â The three heads look back to see all of his colleagues eye them like fish, having them awkwardly turn back to their work. âWhat help is needed here?âÂ
âDonât worry about it,â Nanami replies, an accidental hint of offense weaved in his words. âJust know that her skill set would be best utilized and appreciated here.âÂ
Getoâs smirk still played tricks in Nanamiâs head, âand yet she applied and was initially hired for Legal. She was first recognized and utilized for her skill set in the Legal Department.âÂ
âShe clearly is a woman of many talents, considering her contribution to all of our departments,â Nanami points out. He adjusts his tie, and sweeps his hair back in a more tidy manner. âShe has done wonders for my department, and I intend to keep her flourishing here.âÂ
âI hope you boys didnât forget that Iâm here, too,â Ieiri pipes in, slightly annoyed at being ignored. âNonetheless, itâs not about us. Itâs about where she would like to go, and where Takada shacho believes where her role would be best fit.âÂ
After her words, the three hear frantic running from behind. Nanami turns around to see two bouquets of white roses make their way towards them. They were large, almost the size of two small bedside tables. The person halts, with staggering breaths emitting from the bouquets. Nanami notices the hair just barely sticking out from the top and knew right away that it was his closest friend, Haibara.Â
âNanami,â Haibara spews simply, forcing the two bouquets into his arms. The scent of florals intoxicated Nanamiâs nose as he looked over the bouquets at his exhausted friend. âLooks like.. I made it right on time,â he lets out through sporadic, heavy breaths. From the corner of Nanamiâs eye, Geto looked slightly annoyed at the fact that he was slightly one-upped.Â
Before Nanami could even express his gratitude, the click of an unlocking door sounded from behind him. They all look over to see Takada shacho with a wide smile. To his right, you stood there, your body completely stiff from nerves. Nanami could tell that, despite everything, you still looked at him with those eyes, finding some sort of solace in them.Â
Takada jumped a bit, humored at the sight of 3 of his Head of Departments. âWell, good morning to you all,â their boss hums heartily. All of them, including Haibara, bow. âI havenât seen you 3 together since last year's Holiday Party. The only person weâre missing here is Satoru.âÂ
Satoru Gojo, the Head of IT.Â
Geto nods, âtheyâve been quite busy since changing the system for our company hub.âÂ
Takada nods, âI need to go visit them soon. See if thereâs any relief I can send to their department. Speaking ofâŚâ Takada then moves away from you and allows you the spotlight. âEveryone, please turn your attention here.âÂ
You felt your nerves right at your throat. Though this was a good thing, you were never a fan of being front and center of anything. You always had stage fright, surely since you were younger. Having the attention and eyes of many was something you could never get used to, even now in your adult life. Nanami could see you remaining frigid while expressing a sheepish smile.Â
As Takada begins to congratulate you on your new role as Office Manager, Nanami quickly walks up to you and puts the two bouquets in your hand. Although it was sudden and the bouquets held some weight to them, it provided a shield from your fellow colleagues staring at you. Nobody questioned it as claps and quiet cheers erupted in the office.Â
You noticed Nanami standing firmly to your side, smiling at everyone while gently nudging you with his arm. You look up at him, uncertainty glimmering in your eyes. He mouths a silent âcongratulationsâ with a very wide and proud smile. You knew he was going to ask you about it later, but right now, it felt nice to just get a simple praise. It was the one bit of calmness within the chaotic sounds of claps and praises.Â
âI hope everyone can join me in wishing Y/N much luck in her deserved promotion,â Takada announces, causing the crowd to quiet down. Praises continued to stream, but you could barely pay attention as you stared up at Nanamiâs hazel eyes. But you did get interrupted by Ieiriâs hand latching onto your forearm. You look ahead to meet the eyes of both of your previous bosses.Â
While anxiously holding onto the bouquets, you quickly bowed before the both of them, âa-ah, Ieiri kacho, Geto kacho! It is wonderful to see you both!âÂ
âAnd we you, Y/L/N,â Geto hums with a soft tone. âMany congratulations on your promotion. May your transition be as perfect as your work ethic.âÂ
You bow once again, attempting to find calm in Haibaraâs frantic thumbs up shaking in the background. âThank you very much⌠I would have never been able to even get here without you, Geto kacho.âÂ
Geto emits a hearty laugh before grinning, âyou said it first.âÂ
Ieiri promptly shoves him a bit, smiling down at you, âwhy donât we all have celebratory breakfast?â Ieiri looks over at Takada with a pearly smile. âCan Y/N delay her work so she can celebrate her monumental accomplishment with us?âÂ
Takada smiles before nodding, âplease, feel free to take your time. Iâd love to join you all, but my entire schedule is booked with meetings. Enjoy in my absence. And again, congratulations, Y/N.âÂ
They all bow before Takada, who takes his leave back into his office. A brief silence ensues before Geto goes up to you and begins to take the bouquets from your arms. âA-ah, Geto kacho, you donât have to,â you insist, attempting to keep them in your arms. âYou are already carrying one yourself.âÂ
Before Geto could even advance, Nanami quickly holds your elbow and tilts you so youâd be facing him. Without another second, he takes back the two bouquets from your arms. âLet me carry them for you, Y/N kacho,â Nanami says quietly.Â
Your heart melts. Your mind was going blank. You could vomit from excitement, anxiety, and enchantment from Nanamiâs teasing. âTh-thank you, Nanami kacho,â you say shyly, feeling your cheeks erupt in heat.Â
âIâm no longer your kacho,â Nanami quickly spews, âfeel free to drop that honorific for me.â There was something brewing in those hazel eyes, and you were left to wonder what goes on behind those beautiful orbs.

reid: your mind anon. this was so embarrassingly easy to write. for all intents and purposes osamu dazai is my pookie my snookums my dearest my darling my one true love but damn i do kind of want his boyfriend too. enjoy
. . . .á
a = aftercare (what theyâre like after sex)
a is for attentive, actually
chuuyaâs a gentleman. itâs whatever you want. the whole nine yards.
you want cuddles? conversation? a massage? a shower? a towel? music? tv? your hair braided or played with? wipes? water? wine? a cigarette? silence? sleep? the first thing he says after he lets you ride out your final orgasm is always âwhat can i do for you, baby?â
if his busy schedule allows, he prefers most to settle in and be in silence with you, soak in your presence, and just breathe you in until you both fall asleep
b = body part (their favorite body part of theirs and also their partnerâs)
probably his neck or his hips and waist, since those are where and how you pull him further into you; mark him up in these spots, please <3
he loves those parts of himself also because you can lock your thighs/calves/ankles around him so easily and wonderfully
that being said, chuuya worships your thighs. always grabbing them, squeezing them, clawing them, smacking them, kneading them, gripping them, kissing them, biting them. i am a thigh man chuuya truther
c = cum (anything to do with cum, basically)
pretty and almost translucent spurts
lives and breathes to pump you full <3
please let him cum down your throat
will have you stick your tongue out to make sure you swallowed all of him (watching you do this will get him hard again instantly)
d = dirty secret (pretty self explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs)
wants to fuck you in a meeting so badly
preferably one heâs heading
doesnât want to bring it up for fear of making you uncomfortable, even if youâre okay with public sex - he doesnât know how youâd feel about him taking you in front of people you vaguely know
but the thought of sitting you on his cock and making you try to stay quiet and still in a room full of his subordinates? unnnghhhhhsnnn
he cannot let himself think about it or heâs bricked immediately
e = experience (how experienced are they? do they know what theyâre doing?)
i think heâs got a good bit of experience! definitely not trying to push my manwhore chuuya agenda
doesnât really know how many people heâs fucked, doesnât really think itâs relevant information. whatâs important is that he knows what to do with it
heâs the type to have a one night stand from months ago still trying to get his number. thatâs how good he fucks
even if itâs casual or even if itâs rough, he has a way of making sex feel so comfortable and passionate
literally husband dick
f = favorite position (this goes without saying)
anything that optimizes how deep he can go <3 doggy, mating press, hot seat . . .
9/10 times there is a pillow beneath your hips
specifics aside, he just really loves having your legs over his shoulders
g = goofy (are they more serious in the moment? are they humorous? etc.)
he is not goofy.
at least, not in a deliberate, ironic way. if youâre laughing in bed, itâs a breathless giggle because everything he does is so charming or dreamy or romantic
h = hair (how well groomed are they? does the carpet match the drapes? etc.)
a true ginger call him fire crotch when heâs already mad and watch smoke literally come out of his ears anyway
he prefers to shave everything except for a little patch that connects to his happy trail <3
he doesnât care what you do. man is thrilled to traverse the jungle if it means he gets to taste you
i = intimacy (how are they during the moment? the romantic aspect)
again, even if itâs just a hookup, he has a certain charm and natural way of making sex feel so special . . . so imagine what heâs like in a committed relationship. iâm foaming at the mouth
does he fuck or does he make love? how about both every single time. he just takes such good care of you, whether that means setting the bar for your wedding night or throwing you around and destroying your insides <3
extremely attentive to your actions and reactions. will come to understand the sounds you make almost like a language of its own and he is fucking fluent
j = jack off (masturbation headcanon)
looks so alarmingly beautiful while he does it.
long, languid strokes while he runs his other hand through his hair
his abs flex and twitch and sometimes his tongue lolls out a little while his mouth falls open and his head tips back to let the prettiest moans leave him
doesnât masturbate often with you around; when he does itâs usually so you can sit across from him and watch while you touch yourself, too <3
k = kink (one or more of their kinks)
mirror sex
praise
nipple play
finger sucking
biting/marking
put it all together, and . . .
imagine the arc in your back while he fucks you from behind against the bathroom sink. you better not take your eyes off yourself, he tells you. and you canât even protest to tell him heâs too gorgeous for you to only watch your own reflection because heâs got his middle and index finger pressing down on your tongue while his thumb holds your jaw firmly in place. his other hand reaches around you to alternate between your nipples - he tweaks them, flicks them, rolls them between his fingers and leaves it to you to hold yourself up while he does this, all while he sinks his teeth into your shoulder and groans all gravelly and hot into your ear about how filthy you sound, how good youâre being, how tight you feel, how perfect you are.
l = location (favorite places to do the do)
his office hands down
a little bit of an exhibitionist
it goes hand in hand with letters d and q - the looming threat of maybe getting caught balls deep in you drives him crazy
big fan of your/his bedroom too - allows him a pleasure that sex in his office does not, which is your loud and uninhibited moans and mewls <3
m = motivation (what turns them on, gets them going)
seeing you in any of the expensive clothes he buys you!!!
he of course keeps your taste in mind when he shops for you, but at the end of the day heâs buying you that high-waisted pant/button up shirt/platform shoe combo because he knows your ass is gonna look delectable in it
would also love to have you wear a chain with his initial on it - whether itâs a necklace, bracelet, anklet . . . catching a glimpse of it dangling off you from the right angle has him dragging you off to fuck so he can bite it between his teeth while heâs in your guts <3
n = no (something they wouldnât do, turn offs)
chuuya will scarcely let you dominate him. heâs not completely opposed to it all of the time, but itâs a little more vulnerable than what he prefers. plus he likes his control, even - no, especially when heâs letting you think you have the reins
understands and values the psychological importance of aftercare - he never doesnât do it.
o = oral (preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc.)
chuuya loves seeing you on your knees for him.
loves making you suck his fingers like you would his cock before he actually lets you on him.
he doesnât need to fuck your face - all he needs is your dedicated tongue on his tip, a hand on his balls, maybe a finger or two in or around his hole . . . ugh he busts so fast
referring to c - bonus points if you swallow every last drop of his cum <3
talks you through it deliciously
âthatâs it, doll, wanna see you work for it.â
âeyes up here, baby, look at me.â
âyouâre gonna swallow all this cum, âkay?â
he returns the favor eagerly, donât you worry
an absolute animal when heâs going down on you. his nails in your hips, his hands gripping your thighs, his fingers playing with you when heâs not spreading you apart
eats you like heâs starving and will not stop even after you cum.
p = pace (are they fast and rough? slow and sensual? etc.)
heâs all over the place.
heâs really good at slow and sensual foreplay, but when heâs actually in you or tasting you he canât hold himself back
whewwww you both gonna be sweating.
tries to save slow, sensitive sex for special occasions . . . but he usually builds up to fast, frantic fucking anyway
passion on 100 regardless. he is going to take you to heaven
q = quickie (their opinions on quickies, how often, etc.)
loves. loves loves loves loves loves.
loves sitting you on the kitchen counter and cumming in you before he leaves for work
loves sneaking away with you on his breaks to rail you in a supply closet
loves seeing how many times he can make you cum before the meeting he has to be at in twenty minutes
loves bending you over his desk like he doesnât have a few of his subordinates on their way up to his office to drop off a report
loves bouncing you up and down on his cock in the car ten minutes before your dinner reservation
truly whenever he can. chuuya <3âs quickies
r = risk (are they game to experiment? do they take risks? etc.)
heâs down to try anything once, period.
communication is the most important thing to him - experimentation and risks just need to be discussed beforehand
s = stamina (how many rounds can they go for? how long do they last?)
he can go three or four rounds at a time, each lasting anywhere from less than 10 to up to 30 minutes; heâs usually pretty impatient to see you falling apart on him <3
itâs a different story if heâs only going down on you. he can do it for hours. youâll lose track of time, numbers, colors, your own name and birth date etc
t = toys (do they own toys? do they use them? on a partner or themselves?)
chuuya definitely owns some high quality rope and a pair of thigh-to-wrist cuffs <3
for you, of course.
he doesnât get tied up unless you really, really beg him
will occasionally let you tie his wrists while you ride him <3
u = unfair (how much they like to tease)
likes to tease you verbally more than he does physically.
heâll try to hold off on making you finish, he really will! but most of the time he just canât help giving you what you want.
what heâll do is make you cum for a third or fourth time with hardly any effort and then throw it in your face - âso needy for me, huh?â âbarely takes anything to have you squirtinâ all over me.â âthink you can give me a couple more, doll?â
v = volume (how loud they are, what sounds they make, etc.)
canât help the fact that he whimpers.
so much pretty, breathy whining and cursing - it almost takes the bite out of his domineering sometimes . . .
(lots of âah- ah! fuck, fuck, fuck fuck f- fuck! y- yes, ugh . . .â)
. . . but he makes up for it with how his voice drops almost an octave when he talks
big talker.
âswear you were made fâme.â
âfuckinâ take it, sweetheart. doinâ so good.â
ângh, fuck- gonna make you cum all over this dick.â
so much of your name <3
w = wild card (a random headcanon for the character)
sometimes heâll cum so hard he blacks out for a few seconds. thatâs all <3
x = x-ray (letâs see whatâs going on under those clothes)
thick.
like a fucking can of coke bitch.
6.5-almost 7 inches hard, curves upward the tiniest bit, pretty and tan with a sensitive red tip
v-line to fucking die for.
y = yearning (how high is their sex drive?)
higher than a goddamn kite
he is down to fuck you 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days of the year for as long as youâll let him
just. insatiable. so greedy. takes everything you give him every single time and eats it up. cherishes it like keepsake. burns it into his mind and thinks about it at work the next day and gets himself so horny heâll have to jerk off in the bathroom and send you a picture with the tagline âlook what you do to meâ
z = zzz (how quickly they fall asleep afterwards)
it just depends if heâs sleepy or not! he absolutely can stay awake, get up and moving, go back to work, whatever
but as mentioned before it is his favorite thing to do after - if heâs sleepy, youâre sleepy, and his chaotic life graces him with the time and peace, he will fall asleep with you in his arms so fast.
regardless, heâs so clearheaded after you make each other cum <3 he just adores you so much

Chapter 3:
Summary: It seems like the universe is out to get you as your plans fall apart rapidly.
Itâs 6:00 AM Tuesday, Fall 9 and instead of being woken up by your usual rooster call, youâre roused by the loud buzz of power tools. Clearly Robin has already begun her work, so you might as well get up so you can complete yours as well.
You peek out the window before you get ready, just to make sure sheâs alone out there with no other members of her family, specifically Sebastian. Seeing that the coast is clear, you begin your morning routine. As you hastily shovel down your slightly-under fried eggs, you begin making plans as to how to handle your night away from the farm and any possible contingency plans should they fall through.
After finishing all your chores on the farm and giving a friendly wave to Robin, you head over to Leahâs house with one of your best aged bottles of cherry wine to help sweeten the deal. Not that itâs necessary since Leah is your closest friend here in the Valley, but itâs more of a âthank youâ gift for when she happily agrees to let you spend the night this coming Thursday. Plus, itâll give you a chance to tell her all the crazy shit thatâs been happening with Sebastian (omitting certain details obviously).
As you approach Leahâs little cabin, you see her round the corner of her home with a concerned look on her face and phone to her ear. You only catch a few words at the end of her conversation before she spots you and proceeds to end the conversation. She waves and embraces you with a quick hug, still maintaining a worried look on her face.
âHey, everything okay?â, you ask with genuine concern. Itâs not often you see Leah this stressed out.
âNot really,â she half-heartedly chuckles with a defeated look in her eyes. âI have a wicked bad termite infestation so Iâve been on the phone with exterminators all morning. The fastest appointment any of them have is for tomorrow but because of how bad the infestation is, theyâre gonna have to fumigate my house, which means I have to stay somewhere else for the next three days.â She gives an exasperated huff before she continues. âSo⌠Iâm looking for a temporary place to stay and also trying to move all my wood sculptures out of the termites path of destruction. Thankfully, the one thing they havenât gotten to is those so Iâm trying to keep it that way. Mayor Lewis said I can store my sculptures and supplies in the community center for the time being so⌠itâs something.â She looks down at the ground, collecting herself before and looks back up to you. âSo whatâs up with you?â she asks in a joking tone trying to maintain some optimism in the situation.
âOh, IâŚâ You debate whether or not to tell her you also needed a place to stay since your problem seems far less dire than hers. âI just wanted to stop by and give you this.â You hand her the hand-packaged bottle of wine with a sympathetic smile.
âFuck, this is exactly what I need.â She pulls the cork out with her teeth and takes a very VERY long swig. With wine dribbling down her chin, she asks, âthink you have room in that big ole farmhouse for one more?â
Itâs hard to hide the true disappointment in your voice as you remind her that youâre having work done on the house and that you were also looking for a place to stay. You also apologize for being unable to help your good friend when she really needs you.
âOh yeah, I totally forgot you were getting some work done. Thatâs exciting, though. And you donât need to apologize. Iâm sure Elliot will let me crash, especially if I bring this wine with me.â She glances down at the half drunk bottle of wine. âOr maybe Iâll get him some of Gusâs crab cakes.â
You both let out a light laugh which helps ease your minds and you part ways to focus on your next steps. Plan A was a bust and it was your most solid plan, making you a bit nervous. You remind yourself that you have contingency plans for this very reason. You take a deep breath to rally yourself as you begin walking to Samâs house.
*****
âOh shit, that sucks,â Sam says after you explain your situation to him. You even add Leahâs predicament to your story to show how your options are running out. He listens intently but sometimes you swear itâs going in one ear and out the other.
âSo anyway, thatâs why I was hoping I could crash with you? I know youâd need to ask your mom and Iâm totally fine sleeping on the couch.â You try to plead your case as convincingly as possible.
âIâm really sorry, Y/n, but I canât. My little brother got some virus or something and now itâs spread to my mom, so the whole house is in quarantine.â
Fuck. Fuck. FUCK!!!
âI bet Abby or Seb could help you out though,â he suggests with that sweet grin of his. Heâs always so sweet and willing to help but hearing Sebastianâs name sends a cool chill down your spine. Damn, itâs impossible to be mad at Sam with his puppy dog expression and sweet sincerity. Heâs always been so warm and kind to you, even when you were the new girl in town.
âYeah, Iâll probably ask Abby next. Thanks, Sam.â
As you turn to leave, Sam calls out to you, âI bet Seb would prefer you ask him!â Itâs an innocent tease, but you feel your cheeks burn bright red as you try to laugh along with him at his little âjokeâ. You bury your rosy cheeks in your jacket as you book it to Abigailâs place.
Youâve returned to your normal pigment by the time you reach Pierreâs store. You head to the far door near the counter, giving Pierre a brief wave as he finishes up with a customer, but before you reach the door, Pierre calls for your attention.
âIf youâre going to see Abigail, Iâm going to politely ask you to refrain.â He hands the customer their receipt and waits for them to gain some distance before continuing. âSheâs grounded for the next two weeks.â
Uhhh isnât she a grown woman? You keep your thoughts to yourself, as you watch your last chance at a place to stay (thatâs free of Sebastian) evaporate before your eyes. Youâre desperate at this point so you try one last ditch effort.
âOh gosh, I had no idea,â you respond, really laying on the charm. âItâs especially bad timing cause I really needed a place to stay this Thursday.â You go on to explain the construction, and the following series of unfortunate events, hoping to earn sympathy points, and persuade him to make an exception. âSo thatâs why Iâm urgently searching. I promise I wonât be a nuisance and I could stay on the couch rather than Abbyâs room.â Your desperation is becoming evident and you rapidly search your thoughts for more convincing ideas. âAnd Iâll promise not to talk to Abby while Iâm here⌠andâŚâ,you trail off trying to think of a better argument, but Pierre stops you.
âIâm sorry, Y/n. I really wish I could help you but this just isnât a good time.â
Fucking dick. If he did actually want to help you, heâd agree to let you stay.
âI understand,â you say with a tinge of bitterness. âOh, I used that wonderful deluxe fertilizer you suggested. It worked wonders on my yams! I might stock up for the rest of my crops tooâŚâ
Pierre narrowed his eyes at you and your blatant attempt at bribery. He paused for a moment and you felt a tiny glimmer of hope that he was actually considering your offer.
âThe answer is no, Y/n. I hope to see you back another day for that fertilizer.â That was definitely his way of asking you to leave. You give a polite nod in acknowledgment and leave the shop.
How? How is all this happening now?! Why does it feel like the universe is working against you?!
As these questions rage in your mind you turn the corner of the building, hoping to get some explanation. You swiftly approach Abbyâs window and give it a few stern taps. You can hear shuffling from the other side and it takes a sec for Abby to come open the window.
âHey whatâs up?â Her tone is clearly irritated though you know that irritation isnât directed at you. The fact that you came to her window leads her to conclude that you are already aware of her circumstance.
âWhyâs your dad pissed? I mean I know heâs pissed a lot but this seems pretty extreme,â you ask, matching her same annoyance in solidarity.
Abby rolls her eyes and explains, âhe found my weed stash. I have no idea how he even found it or why he looked through my stuff.â You did find this strange cause you knew where Abby hid her weed and you thought it was a damn good spot, too. She kept it taped to the backside of her nightstand drawer, so youâd have to pull the drawer completely out the the stand in order to get it. âMaybe he saw me pull it out or something?â She tried to rationalize before continuing, âBut he obviously knew something since he knew exactly where to look.â Itâs clear sheâs suspicious that someone ratted her out to Pierre but only you, Sam and Sebastian knew where she kept it.
A lightbulb goes off in your head, and all the color drains from your face. Abby takes notice of your shift in demeanor.
âWhat? Do you know something?â She presses forward on the window pane urging you to share what you know. But you donât have any proof, and sheâs known Sebastian way longer than you, so why should she believe you? It would also make you look very suspicious, too, if you were to suggest him as the culprit.
âIâm just worried itâs⌠my fault because of⌠that time I left my lighter in your room! Like, what if he saw it and was like âwhy on earth is there a lighter in Abbyâs room?!â and then decided to search around?â You can feel your stomach in knots as you wait for Abbyâs response.
At first sheâs a little puzzled by your admission, but then she gives a soft, reassuring smile. âI seriously doubt thatâs what tipped him off but itâs kinda cute that you feel that kind of guilt. Especially for something unintentional.â
You let out a sigh of relief and decide to explain your original intention for swinging by. You canât help but think that this also gives you a stronger alibi of not being the one who snitched.
âDamn, that is hella unlucky,â she says. âBut Iâm sure Seb can help you out. He hardly leaves the house anyway so thereâs no way heâs got plans or anything. Though, I canât blame you for trying to find somewhere else instead.â Your ears perk up at this comment.
Has she seen the stuff he does? Has he done it to her? Are you finally not alone in this and someone else knows how fucking batshit crazy this all is?!
âOh, yeah,â you say, trying to play it cool but wanting her to elaborate. âWhat makes you say that?â
âOh, you knowâŚ. cause boys are so gross.â You feel your heart sink into the deepest pit of your stomach. You give an agreeing smile and nod, holding in the fact that you just want to scream. Abby continues. âI mean, can you imagine what Sam and Sebâs rooms would look like if you held up a black light. Ugh, it grosses me out just thinking about it.â
Again, you agree with her and accept your defeat. You trudge your way back to the main road and you head back to your farm with your head hung low. Itâs a chilly evening and Robin is still working when you return, so you approach her and let her know that youâd like to take her up on her offer. She seems so pleased to hear you accept her invitation and begs you to join them for dinner that night, as well. Being the people-pleaser you are, you reluctantly agree and head inside. The dread of Thursday is already setting in, no matter how hard you try to push that feeling away.
You plop down on the couch, worn out from physical and emotional exhaustion. You get a text notification on your phone and as you go check it, expecting it to be Leah with a termite update, your breath catches in your throat.
Sebastian:
Glad you came to your senses and accepted the invite. Such a good girl
It feels as if your heart could pound right out your chest as you read and reread his text. You have so many questions and are completely terrified at this point.
Do I⌠should I⌠respond?
You shakily type your reply.
Y/n:
Why are you doing this? How did you do all this???
He responds mere seconds later, though it feels like an eternity of watching those three little dots appear, disappear and reappear over and over.
Sebastian:
So impatient. Iâve got to hold onto some of my secrets, you know? Be a good girl, and wait just a bit longer. Iâll be sure to reward my princess for her obedience
A second text soon follows.
Sebastian:
Also, Iâm sure this goes without saying, but letâs keep this between us. No need for anyone to know our little secret, right? Youâre such a good, obedient girl. However, if you do go and tell anyone else, that would make you a very bad girl, and I would be forced to punish you
You drop your phone beside you and lay there on the couch, staring at the ceiling. Youâve grown tired of trying to out maneuver Sebastian and his sick games, leaving you begrudgingly accept your fate. You lay on the couch for hours, unable to bring yourself to move, until you eventually fall into a restless sleep.

Is it Casual now? . CC
pairing: caitlin clark x reader
synopsis: you thought you and caitlin were endgame, but now things are starting to feel a bit different
A/N: will be shifting the âendingâ of the song so that we can all enjoy a happy ending lol
My friends call me a loser
'Cause I'm still hanging around
âYN come on weâve had these plans set for weeks nowâ your roommate complained from her spot on your couch.
life had been so hectic recently and you barely had anytime to hang out with your girls. so when you heard caitlin was going to be out of town for the week and you had work off, you thought to set plans with your roommates to have a movie night and dinner at your place.
âseriously, youâre just gonna ditch us off?â another one of your roommates chimed, slightly irritated. you were scrambling around your apartment, throwing things into your overnight bag for when you arrived at caitlinâs place. âcaitlin shoots you one quick text that sheâs back in town earlier than expected and youâre immediately at her beck and call?â
you rolled your eyes. you knew what they thought of caitlin, that she was a player and only wanted you for one thing. but to you, it felt different, like she genuinely wanted you there at her side
I've heard so many rumors
That I'm just a girl that you bang on your couch
âshe just wants you for a quick fuck, YNâ
youâve heard it all before. and you were very aware of how bad it looked from the outside. caitlin would only reach out late at night, never took you out, never bought you gifts, or offered to come over to your place. no wonder everyone thought you were just a booty call, every possible flag was blazing red.
and you often had your fair share of skepticism when caitlin called you up at 2 am with a âsorry i hadnât called all week, you down to come over?â. but you always felt so worshipped when you were with her, completely blinded by the attention and false promises.
I thought you thought of me better
Someone you couldn't lose
she fucking stood you up. again.
you were sat at a bar, swirling the contents of your lip stick stained class. the classy black dress you wore suddenly felt suffocating and your eyes welled with tears. you couldnât stop staring at the blaring 9:30 on your phone, thinking back to your conversation with cait the night before.
cait <3 : yea baby i can do 8:30, how does that bar down town sound?
you : that sounds really nice, see you then :)
it was your fault really, you kept hoping she would change. that maybe one of these dates would actually mean something to her, but after sitting in a bar alone waiting for an hour for her arrival, you were starting to lose your optimism.
sick of waiting, you paid your tab and left, not even thinking of texting caitlin back.
You said, "We're not together"
So now when we kiss, I have anger issues
âi missed you last weekend, caitâ you muttered, pushing her face away from the crook of your neck, letting your head fall back against the pillow.
she had sent yet another text to you a few hours ago, asking if she could makeup for standing you up. of course, you gave in immediately.
she had sweet talked you so nicely when you arrived at her apartment. whispering in your ear, leaving trails of kisses down you neck and abdomen, taking your clothes off so gently. but the thought of her possibly abandoning you again lingered in the back of your mind.
âi know, i already said im sorry,â she attempted to seduce you with a kiss to the cheek âam i not showing it well enough?â now a kiss to the jawline.
she knew what she was doing, trying to act all innocent with flattery and kisses. if you werenât so sick of the back and forth between the two of you, you would have let it convince you.
âcait, please. i want to talk about thisâ
âwhat is there to talk about?â her voice, once inviting was now laced with anger and irritation.
âdonât get defensive with meâ you sat up, pushing her off your vulnerable body âiâm just trying to tell you that what youâre doing is hurting my feelingsâ
she looked at you expressionless, fingers rubbing at her temples.
âi want to spend time with you and it hurts when you ignore me and stand me up and-â
âyea, well weâre not together soâŚâ she cut you off sharply.
it felt like a punch to the gut, hearing her say that. yea it was true, you werenât together, but you donât just act like the person youâre fucking isnât worth anything to you.
âwowâ you didnât even know what to say. your eyes stung and you chest heaved with humiliation. did she truly think this wasnât âtogetherâ?
You said, "Baby, no attachment"
âYN i really donât know what you want me to sayâŚi thought we both agreed that this was a casual thing?â she tried to tell you as you angrily picked up your discarded clothes from her bedroom floor.
âi donât care what we SAID, caitlinâ you stopped, buttoning up your shirt, looking her in the eyes âitâs what we keep DOING.â
âwhat are you talking about?â
âi know we said this was just a casual thing, but- but things started to change. weâŚugh i donât even know how to say it, but it just feels so different when weâre together. more than a casual hookup.â
sheâs looking at you confused, pleading for an explanation.
âlike when we hooked up that time after Iowaâs big game, you were knee deep in the passenger seat and eating me out? is that casual?â
she scoffed and rolled her eyes, but you egged on.
âor when your mom invited me to her house on Long Beach last summer? what about that, is that causal now?â your face felt hot as you raised your voice to her. you had surprised your self with these accusations.
âI hate that I let this drag on so long, caitlin, and now I hate myselfâ
all she did was stare, studying the features of your face. every crinkle in your nose, the way your lips quivered with anger, and every twitch of your right eyebrow was now forever embedded in her mind. she knew you were right, deep down, knew that she had fucked up so bad and that you only hated yourself because of her. she knew that her inability to commit had caused you pain and her avoidance issues had gotten out of hand.
âiâm sorryâ she admitted, âiâm so fucking sorry that it hurtsâ
âcaitlin, why? am i truly just a quick fuck to you?â
your question nearly knocked the wind out of her. she stood off the bed and meandered over to where you stood at the door, your pants still undone and your items thrown haphazardly into your overnight bag.
âno,â she breathed âyouâre so much more than thatâ
itâs like you couldnât speak, unable to do much else other than stare at her quizzically.
âi know iâve treated you like shit. that iâve fucked up far beyond fixingâ
âso why donât you show it? why sit here and tell me that itâs ok to ignore me and stand me up because weâre just ânot togetherâ? i donât get it caitâ
her hands ran over her face in frustration, she hated the confrontation. having to tell you all of this was sending her into a spiral. things were fine before tonight, she was able to do want she wanted and ignore all her feelings. and it all came crashing down the second she had gotten you into her bed, instantly faced with reality. tonight was it. she needed to be honest with you.
âi didnât think i could love someone as much as i love youâ she blurted out, which was followed by a deafening scoff from you.
âiâm serious,â she retorted âobviously i havenât shown that, iâve done nothing but be cruel to you. but the moment i met you, i knew you would have some sort of hold on me. and it scared me, YNâ
you tried to interrupt, to take another stab at her childish behavior, but she kept going.
âi was so scared that iâd lose you, that youâd see through me and all my issues and eventually realize that iâm not worth having a real relationship with. so i tried to keep my distance from you, tried not to see you so it didnât absolutely tear my heart apart, but i couldnât help myself. i needed to have you, just a little bit, so i what it felt like to be loved by you. i just couldnât risk ruining you, taking away a genuine life that you truly deserve all because iâm fucked up and avoid everything. and hooking up with you, to be completely transparent, has only made it worse becauseâŚbecause now iâve seen what i actually lostâ
âyou,â there werenât any words to express how you felt right now âyou donât need to avoid me, cait, you wonât ruin me. i know what i want in a relationship. itâs you, i want youâ
âiâm just scared youâll finally see past this whole thing and see that you donât actually want me like thatâ
âi know you. i know that past this,â you waved your hands, gesturing between the two of you âthereâs a different caitlin clark. one who doesnât undermine herself and recognizes that sheâs deserves real love just like how i deserve it. one that can address her commitment issues before they get out of hand like this did. one that wonât stand me up, that wonât shoot me down because she has âpracticeâ. i know that the real you is perfectly capable of change.â
âiâm scared.â was all she managed âbut i want to do better for you, i donât think i can be without you, please let me fix thisâ
it came out as a desperate whisper, almost incomprehensible, but you heard her loud and clear.
âitâs going to take some timeâŚbut iâm willing to work on this.â
âi swear to god, YN, iâm going to be so much better. iâm done with the hookups and the late night texts. i just want you. all of youâ
your hand found her cheek, pulling her towards you gently to place an intimate kiss on her lips.
âi believe youâ

PSYCHO KILLER - SCREAM
Summary: in which Iris Morris has to navigate her personal relationships while surviving a psycho.
Warnings: Fem!reader, angst, violence, swearing, mention of death, Tara Carpenter x Fem reader, multiple parts, slowburn.
Word count: +5k
A/n: this part will follow the events of Scream 6 but it will take place two years later from Scream 5. English is not my first language, so I apologize for any grammatical mistake.
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 7, Part 8, Part 9, Part 10, Part 11, Part 12, Part 13
Iris stared at her reflection in the mirror, adjusting the collar of her makeshift Men in Black costume. The black suit felt too tight, and the sunglasses slipped down her nose. She couldn't help but roll her eyes at the ridiculousness of it all. Once upon a time, the idea of going to a party with her friends would have excited her, but now the thought only made her feel uneasy.
She had Tara to thank for her current predicament. For the past two weeks, Tara had relentlessly bugged her about attending the frat party, her enthusiasm almost palpable through every text and conversation. And here Iris was, caught in a swirl of frustration and reluctantance, walking down the street with Tara, who looked radiant in her pirate costume, complete with a white shirt that showed her shoulders, a delicate gold neckclace, and a stylish headscarf. Honestly, she looked way too hot and Iris was having a hard time at pretending like she didn't notice it. She hated to admit it, but for the last thirty minutes, she'd been avoiding looking directly at Tara, fearful that if she did, she wouldn't be able to stop.
"I can't believe you convinced me to come to this stupid party," Iris muttered, trying to suppress a grin at Tara's playful smile.
"I've been told I'm really good at convincing," Tara replied, her voice dripping with mock seriousness.
"I don't think you're that good," Iris shot back, attempting to maintain her irritated facade.
Tara stopped in her tracks, causing Iris to halt beside her. The shorter girl leaned in, a special glint in her eyes. "Don't make me bring the big guys," she teased, her tone low and mischievous, clearly enjoying the moment.
Iris felt the corners of her mouth twitch upward, but she quickly shook her head. "Just don't do that thing," she gestured to Tara's face, her tone a mix of annoyance and fondness. "You know, that thing you do with your eyes."
Tara paused, her expression shifting to mock confusion as she lowered her eyelids and pouted, exaggerating the look to the point of absurdity. "What thing?" she asked, batting her lashes in a way that was almost comical.
"Ugh, I hate you," Iris groaned, unable to suppress her laughter any longer.
"Love you too!" Tara chirped, her eyes sparkling with happiness.
The distant sounds of music pulsated through the trees ahead, a vibrant invitation beckoning them closer. Yet, as they moved forward to the frat house, Iris still felt a nagging uncertainty. She glanced at the dark shadows that lined the path, the branches casting eerie shapes on the ground. Each small rustle made her heart race, and she found herself instinctively leaning closer to Tara, who kept her grounded with an easy confidence.
"Oh, hey, Tara!" called a guy in a Blackmore College jacket. He had black long hair, and a neatly groomed mustache.
"Jason," Tara greeted, her voice brightening. "Are you and Greg gonna come to the okb party?"
"Well, if he finishes his Spanish project in time, yes, we will," Jason said, raising his eyebrows with a hint of optimism. Then he turned his attention to Iris. "Hi, I'm Jason, you must be..."
"I'm Iris" her tone slightly awkward. "Nice to meet you"
Jason gave her a tight lipped smile before looking back at Tara once again, his smile widening. "Is your sister coming?"
"No way! Sam wouldn't be caught dead at a frat party," Tara chuckled, the very idea making her giggle.
Jason shrugged innocently,"There's a first time for everything," he replied, his voice laced with an overconfident nonchalance. Iris shot Jason a wary glance, picking up on a sense of arrogance that made her gut twist.
"Not tonight, though," Tara said firmly, beginning to pull Iris away from the conversation, eager to get to the party.
"Can't convince her?" Jason called after them, his voice teasing.
"No. That's not my problem, that's yours!" Tara shouted back over her shoulder, laughter mingling with the distant music.
"Save me a drink!" Jason's voice faded as they walked further down the sidewalk.
Once they were a safe distance away from the party, Iris turned to Tara, her brow furrowed with curiosity. "So, does Jason know Sam?"
Tara shrugged, her eyes darting back to the thrumming crowd they had just escaped. "Not really."
Iris tilted her head, an eyebrow raised in suspicion. "Don't you think it was a little weird that he was so interested in getting your sister to come to this party?"
"Jesus, Iris," Tara said, exasperated. "Not everyone is out there to get us."
"I know that but he was really strange,".
"It's Jason, for crying out loud! He's just a guy from my film studies class. Of course he's weird!" Tara replied, a playful smirk creeping across her face. "Maybe he has a crush on Sam."
"Yeah, or maybe he's plotting a murder. You know, a typical Friday night," Iris quipped, her tone half-serious, half-teasing.
"Okay, stop." Tara abruptly came to a halt, gripping both of Iris's shoulders with a firm yet gentle hold. "Iris, I know that you and Sam are the presidents of the Paranoid Fan Club, but I brought you here today so you could chill out. You two have been on edge for the past two years. It's time to let it go."
"Okay, rude. I'm not paranoid!" Iris shot back, feigning indignation.
"Yes, you are!" Tara countered, rolling her eyes. "I get it, but you have to start living, too."
"I know," Iris huffed, crossing her arms defiantly. "I'm living just fine, thank you very much."
"Are you, though?" Tara asked softly, her voice dropping to a more serious note. "Can you try to see it from my perspective?"
In a playful act of defiance, Iris crouched down, mimicking Tara's height. "Yeah, I can try," she said, struggling to keep a straight face.
"You are so not funny, you fucker. We were having a moment!" Tara protested, her frustration only half-hearted.
"I can't hear you from way up here," Iris replied, a teasing lilt to her voice.
"I'm going to punch you in the face," Tara said, though a smile threatened to break through her stern demeanor.
"You'll have to tiptoe to get there. It's cute, really," Iris laughed, her spirit lifting.
"Well, I don't have to tiptoe to punch you in the gut" Tara shot back as she smiled sarcastically. "Keep it up and you might find out"
"Love it when you talk dirty to me" Iris grinned, wrapping an arm around Tara's shoulders as they resumed their walk toward the house. The cool evening air was refreshing, and for a moment, the weight of their worries seemed to lighten. If only she had noticed the way Tara's cheeks flushed with warmth at the closeness.
The music thumped through the speakers, reverberating through the crowded frat house, where colorful lights flickered and danced along the walls. A bunch of faces, flushed with excitement and enthusiasm, swayed to the rhythm, their laughter punctuating the air. The scent of spilled drinks and food mingled with the sweet, fruity aroma of mixed cocktails, creating an atmosphere that was both chaotic and exhilarating.
Iris stood near the kitchen counter, where a makeshift bar had been set up. The countertops were cluttered with half-empty bottles, mixers, and stacks of red cups. She took in the scene, people dancing with their costumes on, some attempting to impress one another with their moves, while others lounged on the couches, engrossed in animated conversations. She had to admit, she was having more fun than she originally thought she would.
"So, on a scale of one to ten, how fucked you guys want to get tonight?" Mindy asked as she lined up four shots on the kitchen counter.
"Hopefully a ten!" Anika exclaimed, her enthusiasm infectious as she grinned widely at the group. With that, they raised their glasses in unison and downed their shots, the liquid burning their throats as they swallowed.
Iris gagged dramatically, her face contorting in an exaggerated grimace. "God, that was awful! I'm going to go make a drink. Does anybody want one?" she declared, wiping her mouth and shaking her head in disgust at the harshness of the shot.
"I'll take one!" Tara called out, a grateful smile on her face as she leaned closer to Iris. As Iris turned to leave, Mindy shouted after her, "When did you become such a pussy? That wasn't even that strong!"
Iris shot her a middle finger over her shoulder, a smirk tugging at her lips despite the faux indignation. "Maybe my taste buds just have standards bitch" she called back, making Mindy snicker as she tried to stifle her laughter.
"Yeah, yeah, you're just weak". After Iris was out of sight, Mindy leaned in conspiratorially. "So, Tara, any hopes for tonight?" she asked, her eyebrows wiggling suggestively while wrapping an arm around Anika.
"Just have fun, I guess," Tara replied, a hint of confusion crossing her face as she tried to understand the underlying implication.
"Not planning to make a move on Iris?" Anika teased, her eyes sparkling with hope.
Tara laughed nervously, the sound a mix of embarrassment and surprise. "Why would I... I don't... I..." she stuttered, her friends bursting into laughter at her flustered state.
"Look, all I'm saying is tonight would be a great night to do it. Ask her to dance!" Mindy encouraged, her voice playful yet earnest.
"Iris hates dancing; she's going to say no," Tara protested, shaking her head as she glanced at the girl, who was now distracted by the antics of a group trying to recreate a viral TikTok dance.
"She would say no to everyone but you," Mindy replied. "She has a soft spot for you."
"No, she doesn't,"
"Yes, she does!" Anika and Mindy chimed in unison, laughter bubbling between them.
"Just test it out," Anika said, her eyes darting toward Iris, who had returned with drinks. "She's coming!"
Iris handed a brightly colored drink to Tara. "Here you go!" she said, a smile breaking across her face.
"Gotta say, Iris," Anika whistled teasingly, "That suit definitely looks good on you. Like, if I didn't have a girlfriend, I'd be jumping you right now."
Iris erupted into laughter, her face lighting up as she turned to Mindy, whose expression was one of mock horror.
"Okay, I think I just threw up!" Mindy faked gag. "You're my girlfriend; you're supposed to say she's ugly!"
"But I would be lying!" Anika countered, unable to hold back her giggles.
"God, I know. Unfortunately, you look good Iris," Mindy added dramatically, tossing her hands up in defeat. "Get out of my sight!" Iris laughed, waving them off playfully.
"What about you, Tara? Do you think Iris look good?" Anika asked intentionally, a spark in her eyes.
"Uh, yeah, definitely," Tara stammered, her eyes widening as the focus shifted to her.
"Now you're just being nice," Iris teased, nudging Tara playfully.
After a bit more lighthearted banter, Mindy and Anika made their excuses to leave, but not before Mindy shot Tara a knowing wink, leaving Tara feeling nothing but anxiety. Once they were alone, Tara turned to Iris, her heart racing. "So, umm, wanna dance?"
"Dance?" Iris snorted, her disbelief evident. "I'm terrible at it. I hate it."
"C'mon, it would be fun!" Tara urged, extending her hand with a hopeful smile.
Iris hesitated, searching Tara's eyes for a moment. Finally, with a resigned sigh, she relented. "Fine." Tara's heart soared at Iris's unexpected agreement, though she hid her surprise well. Maybe Mindy was right after all.
They stepped onto the dance floor, and Tara instinctively reached for Iris's hand.
They started to sway to the music, the soft melodies wrapping around them like a gentle breeze. Iris watched Tara move with an effortless grace, her body swaying fluidly, each motion as natural as breathing. Tara's laughter blended with the music, her eyes sparkling with joy, and Iris felt a rush of admiration with a hint of longing.
Iris tried to mimic Tara's movements, but her attempts felt clumsy and awkward. She felt stupid, her limbs stiff and uncoordinated, each sway a far cry from Tara's elegance. Dancing had never been her strong suit, and tonight was no different.
In a playful moment, Tara twirled Iris around, and they both burst into laughter when Iris stumbled slightly, inadvertently stepping on Tara's foot. The laughter felt infectious, washing away Iris's insecurities, if only for a moment. "I told you I'm terrible at this!" Iris exclaimed, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment.
"I don't care," Tara replied, her voice light and warm. "I just want to dance with you." With that, Iris spun Tara around in return, her heart lifting at the sight of Tara's radiant smile. It was a small victory, yet it filled her with a sense of confidence she hadn't expected.
As they resumed their swaying, Iris couldn't shake the tension in her body. Each attempt to move in sync felt like a losing battle; her nerves made her movements feel rigid and forced. She found herself wiggling awkwardly to the beat, struggling to find a rhythm that felt natural.
"It'd help if you'd loosen up, ya know?" Tara chimed in, her giggle light and encouraging, cutting through the din of the party.
"How?" Iris shot back, a hint of desperation in her voice as she glanced at Tara, hoping for guidance.
"Simple! Just grab my waist," Tara suggested, stepping closer and reaching for Iris's hands. She guided them slowly to her waist, their bodies inches apart, the warmth radiating between them. "Like that," she whispered, her breath brushing against Iris's ear, sending shivers down her spine.
Iris felt her heart race, the world around them fading into a blur as she focused on the closeness, the sensation of Tara's body against hers. There was an intoxicating thrill in that moment, a rush of something deeper than just dancing. Tara's arms slipped around Iris's neck, pulling them even closer, and Iris found herself entranced, her body instinctively moving to follow Tara's lead.
As they swayed together, time seemed to stretch and bend, the music becoming a soundtrack to their connection. Iris couldn't tear her gaze away from Tara's face; the way her eyes lit up with laughter, the curve of her smile, the freckles in her cheeks, it all made Iris feel dizzy with awe. With each subtle movement, the tension began to dissolve, and for the first time, Iris felt the music seep into her bones.
"See? You're doing amazing now," Tara said, her voice warm and encouraging.
"I think it's the teacher, really," Iris teased, a playful smile tugging at her lips.
Tara's laughter was like a melody of its own, filling the air around them. Iris felt emboldened, her confidence building as she matched Tara's sway, letting herself get lost in the rhythm.
Tara started playing with Iris's tie, twirling her finger around it absently. She looked up to find Iris staring intently at every part of her face, an expression full of curiosity with something deeper. Feeling a surge of boldness, Tara decided to bridge the gap between them. With a playful tug, she pulled on Iris's tie, drawing their faces closer together.
"If you keep pulling my tie like that, you're going to mess it up," Iris warned, her voice teasing but laced with an unmistakable hint of nervousness.
"Do you want me to stop?" Tara asked, her heart racing. With another gentle tug, she closed the distance further until their noses were almost touching, the air between them charged with anticipation.
"Not really," Iris admitted, her eyes sparkling with desire. In a swift motion, she grabbed Tara's hips, pulling her even closer until their bodies pressed together. The warmth radiating between them made Tara's breath hitch, and she brought her hand to tangle them into Iris's hair.
"You know? Anika was right," Tara said, her voice low, but the words felt heavy in the charged atmosphere.
"About?" Iris's voice barely rose above a whisper as their breaths mingled in the warm air, creating an intimate bubble around them.
"You look really good today." Tara's eyes sparkled with genuine admiration, tracing the contours of Iris's face, from the gentle curve of her cheek to the way her hair framed her features.
"Just good?" Iris raised an eyebrow, a teasing lilt in her tone that sent a thrill through Tara.
"You look hot." The words hung in the air, and Iris's smirk widened, a special glint in her eyes. Tara couldn't help but glance down at Iris's lips for a moment, the urge to close the gap between them almost overwhelming.
"I just..." Tara began, her heart pounding as she searched for the right words, but her thoughts scattered when another voice cut through the moment.
"Iris, no way!" A ginger-haired boy in his twenties called out, his presence sudden and bright. Iris snapped out of her trance, her smile transforming instantly upon recognizing him.
"Damon! What are you doing here?" she exclaimed, her excitement evident as she turned to face him.
"I would never miss a party." He flashed a charming grin before his gaze shifted to Tara, an apologetic expression crossing his features. "Was I interrupting?"
"No, no, don't worry," Iris insisted quickly, a deep blush covering her face. "Mmm, this is my friend Tara."
"Hi, I'm Damon," he said, offering a warm smile that made Tara feel both welcomed and slightly annoyed. "You mind if I steal her for a second?"
Tara tried to hide her disappointment, her throat tight. "Not at all," she managed, though the words felt hollow.
Iris smiled at her, genuine and bright. "I'll see you in a bit, okay? Thanks for the dancing," she said, her eyes lingering on Tara's for a heartbeat longer.
"Yeah, no worries," Tara replied, forcing a tight-lipped smile, her heart sinking a little.
As they turned away, she heard Damon's voice carrying over the music. "I have so many people I want you to meet." They disappeared into the room, laughter and chatter swallowing them up.
Tara stood there, feeling a tightening in her chest that made her uncomfortable. She didn't know who this Damon was, but the ease between him and Iris showed that they were close, she just didn't know how much.
She had the best medicine for heartache, alcohol.
Iris was engaged in an animated conversation with Damon and three of his friends, her laughter ringing out as she gestured enthusiastically, when Anika suddenly burst into the scene, her face showing distress.
"Iris, we need your help like right now!" Anika exclaimed, grabbing Iris's hand and tugging her away before she had a chance to comprehend the situation.
"What's going on?" Iris asked, confusion flickering across her features as she tried to keep pace with Anika's rapid strides.
"It's Tara," Anika replied breathlessly, her voice laced with concern.
They quickened their steps, weaving through the crowd of students until they reached the dimly lit hall. Just as they arrived, Iris's heart sank as she caught sight of Tara ascending the staircase, her laughter echoing softly. Beside her was a tall guy with tousled brown hair, his confident posture and relaxed demeanor suggesting he was much older than Tara, a fact that sent a wave of unease through Iris.
"Hey, Tara, come here!" Iris called out, her voice firm but laced with tension. She clenched her fists, a protective instinct surging within her.
"Sorry, we didn't catch that," the older guy replied, flashing a condescending smile that only deepened Iris's frustration.
"I think you did." Iris spoke as she felt herself growing angrier every second.
"No, Iris. It's fine," Tara said, her voice slightly slurred as she leaned heavily against the railing for support, struggling to maintain her balance. "I'm just gonna get a drink and then I'll be right back." She took a wobbly step down the stairs. "You should go back to what you were doing," she added, attempting to sound casual.
"See, Iris? She wants to," the older guy said mockingly, his tone dripping with sarcasm as he flashed a triumphant grin. He reached out and grabbed Tara by the arm, making her stumble, her footing faltering as she tried to regain her balance. He kept on dragging her back up the stairs aggressively and Iris's anger finally erupted.
"Don't fucking touch her!" Iris yelled as she punched the guy straight in the face, he stumbled backward and lost his footing, crashing to the floor with a heavy thud.
"You bitch" he shouted, holding into his bloody nose as he stood up, but before he could fully regain his composure, Iris was already on him. She lunged forward, her hands gripping the fabric of his white shirt, the material cool and smooth beneath her fingers. Her heart raced, fueled by an urgent need to protect Tara, whose faint shouts urging her to stop barely registered in her mind.
"Please, Iris, don't!" Tara's voice trembled, but it felt distant, almost muffled by the pounding in Iris's ears. She could see Tara's worried expression over her shoulder, but all her focus was on the guy before her.
"Do you think you can just push her around like that?" Iris gritted through her teeth, her voice low and intense. "You enjoy taking drunk girls to your room, you fucking perv?"
"You're ruining the fun, you could've joined us if you weren't crazy".
"Touch her again, and I fucking kill you" he growled at Iris's threat, punching her with a force that sent her stumbling back. The sudden impact disoriented her for a moment, and she could feel the crowd around them erupt into a frenzy of shouts and gasps. She was pretty sure her lip was busted, but instead of showing any pain, a defiant smile spread across Iris's face, a bold expression that seemed to catch him off guard.
With adrenaline pumping through her veins, Iris lunged forward, her body propelled by anger. She closed the distance between them in an instant, driving him backward into the wall with a forceful thud. He gasped as his back hit the hard surface, his eyes wide with surprise and fury, but Iris was undeterred.
As she held him against the wall, she caught sight of the fear creeping into his eyes, and a small part of her reveled in it. The expression on his face shifted from confusion to pain as she drew her fist back and unleashed it with all her strength, landing a solid punch against his nose. The blow echoed in the air, a sharp crack that punctuated the tension surrounding them.
"You're insane" he shot back, incredulity lacing his voice, which faltered as Iris tightened her grip.
Iris leaned in, her breath barely above a whisper, low and deliberate, ensuring he could hear every word. "You have no idea, lay one hand on her and you'll find out"
Just in time, Chad strode into the room. The moment he spotted the boy making another move on Iris, a protective instinct surged within him. Without hesitation, he positioned himself directly in front of her, his posture radiating defiance.
Chad's jaw clenched as he locked eyes with the boy, who glared back defiantly. In an instant, the confrontation escalated; both men began shoving each other. Tara went to Iris to drag her away from the scene, she was still in shock from what the other girl just did.
Sam burst into the room, her eyes quickly scanned the scene, as she was assessing the turmoil unfolding before her. "Sorry to interrupt. I'm just gonna tase you in the balls real quick." He fell to the ground in pain. "Don't ever lay hands on my sister"
"You fucking bitch! Fuck you". All eyes were on her now.
"Sam! Are you fucking kidding me? You're stalking us now." Tara angrily said as she ran outside.
"Holy shit, it's that psycho girl". a guy yelled, as everyone started taking pictures off Sam, Iris quickly grabbed Sam's hand and both of them stormed out of the house.
They were chasing after Tara, who seemed to be trying to get away from Sam as fast as she could.
"Tara." Sam called after her, "Will you stop?"
"I cannot believe you did that!" Tara hissed. "You embarrassed me!" Then she pointed at Iris. "Don't even get me started on you, what the fuck is wrong with you? You punched him and now you're bleeding".
"I don't care, he deserved it"
"That guy was a dick," Sam defended Iris and herself immediately. "I'm glad Iris was there to stop him, he was going to take advantage of you"
Tara threw her arms up in exasperation, her frustration palpable as it hung in the air like a thick fog.
"So?" she challenged, her tone sharp enough to cut through the tension surrounding them.
"So?" Iris echoed, disbelief etched across her features. "You're drunk, Tara, you can't give consent" Iris felt her jaw tense, the muscles tightening as she fought to suppress the urge to lash out. The heat of the moment clawed at her restraint.
"If I want to hook up with an asshole, that's my decision!" Tara spat, her voice rising with indignation. She glared fiercely at the girls, a defiant fire blazing in her eyes. "That's my decision!"
"Okay," Sam replied, rolling her eyes with an exaggerated sigh.
"No problem," Iris interjected, her tone clipped. "Just do it when you're sober." The suggestion hung in the air, thick with irony.
"It's not about you!" Tara snapped, pivoting to face her sister. Her voice was edged with bitterness. "You're out of my life for five years, and now you can't leave me alone for five minutes!" The words came out like venom, each one a reminder of the distance that had long defined their relationship.
Iris's gaze flicked over her shoulder, noticing that the others Chad, Ethan, Mindy, and Anika had followed them outside, standing at a distance. They looked like deer caught in headlights, uncertain and awkward, the weight of the confrontation palpable.
"Because you're not dealing with what happened to us," Sam interjected bitterly. "Have you even gone to see the counselor yet?" There was a sharpness to her words, a frustration born from unaddressed pain.
"No, I'm not going toâ" Tara started, but Sam cut her off.
"Why not?"
"Because I'm uninterested in living in the past like you are," Tara admitted, her voice trembling as if each syllable was a weight pulling her under.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Sam's brow furrowed, confusion and hurt mixing in her expression as she searched for understanding.
Tara hesitated, her eyes darting, as if she were struggling to articulate the storm brewing inside her. The silence stretched, thick and uncomfortable, as the tension between the sisters persisted.
"Guys, come on," Chad interjected, sensing that the escalating situation was about to reach a boiling point. He stepped forward, his expression earnest as he aimed to diffuse the situation. "Stop arguing." His voice cut through the heated exchange.
"It means I'm not going to let what happened to us for three days define the rest of my life!" Tara shot back, her eyes blazing with defiance. The youngest Carpenter's voice cracked with raw emotion as she continued, "Therapy might work for you and Iris, but I don't need to keep revisiting the past every day."Â Now, Iris knew that it was true but she still couldn't help but feel a pang of hurt deep within her. It wasn't her fault she still had trouble adapting to her new reality full of mistrust and pain.
"So you're just going to pretend it never happened?" Sam asked, her tone laced with disbelief after a heavy silence hung in the air, thick and suffocating.
Tara let out a weary sigh, her shoulders slumping slightly as if the weight of the world rested upon them. "What are you doing here, Sam? In New York?" she asked, a hint of frustration creeping into her voice. "You're working two shitty jobs just to help pay for... whatever. But what's your plan? I know what I'm going to do, okay? I'm going to keep going to college, I'm going to get my degree, and I'm going to live my life. My life. Okay? You just followed me here and won't let me out of your sight." The words poured out with exasperation.
"I'm just trying to look out for you," Sam replied, her expression shifting to one of dejection.
"I know. I know you are," Tara responded, her voice softening as she met Sam's gaze. "But you can't do it for the rest of my life. You have to let me go."
"Hey!" a voice called out, slicing through the tension that filled the night air. Before anyone even got the chance to react, a cold drink was being thrown at Sam, soaking her shirt. She recoiled in shock, her eyes wide as the icy liquid dripped down her skin, sending a jolt of surprise coursing through her.
"Murderer!" The girl shouted, her voice dripping with venom, eyes blazing with accusation. The crowd around them paused, curiosity piqued by the sudden commotion. Iris felt a surge of anger rising within her; she instinctively stepped forward, fists clenching at her sides, ready to confront the girl. But Mindy was quicker, stepping in front of her with a firm hand on her chest.
"Calm down, no more fighting," Mindy urged, her tone laced with urgency. She could see the fire in Iris's eyes and knew that a confrontation would only escalate the situation further.
"What the fuck is wrong with you bitch?" Sam screeched, her voice a mixture of disbelief and fury. She struggled against the hold of her friends, the adrenaline pumping through her veins as she tried to lunge toward the girl, but they held her back firmly.
"You guys should stay away from her," the girl declared, her voice rising above the crowd. She pointed a finger accusatorily at Sam, her expression one of disdain. "She knows what she did."
"I didn't fucking do anything!" Sam shot back, her voice cracking with emotion.
"Step closer if you're so brave bitch!". Iris shouted, her protective instincts kicking in, her heart pounding. Instead of responding, the woman merely flipped Iris off, a smirk on her face as she turned on her heel and continued to walk away.
The air felt thick with unspoken emotions as the group stood in stunned silence, grappling with the unexpected aggression.
"Hey its okay, calm down". Mindy said as they all started to walk back.
Sam, still fuming, turned to Iris, the fury in her eyes mingling with despair. "I'm so sick of this shit"
"I know Sam, I know".

Camp Wiegman-Part 69
Lucy Bronze x Ona Batlle

Alternative Universe : Military School
Words: 5K
Masterlist
âââââââââââââââââââââââ
Monday, March 14; 9:30 AM - Manchester
A small routine had developed over two weeks. School continued, where I was pushing myself hard with revisions. It had become difficult to fit my friends into my schedule, but I had to make a choice. I wanted to pass my exam at any cost. I received some reproaches from them, though. Only Alexia and Alessia stood up for me. Maybe even Leah and Lotte now, too. Thanks to Alessia, I was able to talk to Leah and resolve our issues. She understood my intentions for studying, and I think she wasnât as upset anymore about my relationship with Lucy.
"I just found it strange at first and was worried for you. I get that you're being careful. Now, give me some time to get used to it," she had told me.
I thought that was sweet of her. It wasnât for nothing that I liked her so much. As for Lotte, we also had a conversation. I apologized for not remembering her. She was surprised and told me she had wanted me to figure it out on my own. Still, she accepted my apology, saying we could maybe reconnect now. I agreed, though I still struggled with the idea. I donât think knowing each other from before changes much about our relationship today.
Outside of my friends, Iâm happy with my life right now. Things with Lucy are going great. We spent a quiet weekend with her friends, which I needed after the last one in Barcelona. Iâm still waiting to hear back from the galleries. Itâs nerve-wracking, but I havenât lost hope. I continue sending letters with Bethâs help and Lucyâs encouragement. On the other hand, I still havenât called my mom. We left without seeing her, as she was called to the hospital urgently. In a way, I was relieved. I avoided confrontation at least. Knowing her, she probably thinks Iâm angry at her. I canât blame her; sheâs borne the brunt of my outbursts. Lucy advised me to contact her soon, but I havenât had the courage yet. I still feel guilty about what happened. One positive thing is that Iâve long been prepared for the idea of marriage. My father drilled it into me, and Iâll go through with it, if only to honor his memory.
"Are you okay?" Lucy asks, pulling me out of my thoughts.
I jump slightly. We were in the car, on the way to my meeting at the gallery with Mr. Fields. I was glad Lucy was coming with me. At least weâd get to spend some time together outside of school.
"Yeah," I exhaled.
"Are you nervous?"
"A little⌠Not too much, honestly."
I had no idea what would come from this meeting. I had already resigned myself to not having high expectations. I didnât want to be disappointed by the outcome.
"Actually, I wonder why I even accepted this meeting. I should have declined, and it would all be over."
"Donât say that. We donât know whatâs in store. Maybe itâll go well, and heâll offer better solutions."
"Hmm..."
I love her optimism. Iâm not as hopeful. Maybe sheâs just trying to reassure me. We arrive at our destination. This time, itâs the real gallery in the center, not the workshop. Mr. Fields said heâd be here today. He insisted that Lucy accompany me, and I couldnât be happier. We walk into the building, and Iâm struck by its splendor. Everything is beautiful, modern, white, and sleek. There are so many paintings on display. Some are for sale, others arenât, or at least thatâs what I gather since some donât have prices. I feel a bit lost. I see Mr. Fields nearby, but he doesnât seem to have noticed us. Heâs talking to no one in particular as he approaches a woman at the reception. She notices us and looks uncomfortable as he gives her cold instructions before walking back down the hall he came from.
"Great start," Lucy whispers.
I nod slightly, focusing on the paintings to keep myself busy. The receptionist has seen us, so I assume sheâll come over. My mind wanders a little. I wasnât expecting a gallery like this. Could I work in a place like this? Itâs so large. Honestly, itâs massive. I donât even dare explore the whole place. I understand its reputation now. This isnât my thing. Iâm not sure I belong in an environment like this.
"Hello, can I help you with something?" the young woman approaches us.
She seems uncomfortable, and I get it. Her boss spoke to her like dirt right in front of us without even realizing it. She knows we saw everything. Seeing me frozen, Lucy steps in first.
"Hello. We have an appointment with Mr. Fields."
"Oh yes, he mentioned your arrival. Iâm sorry, I canât remember the name he gave me, though."
No surprise there⌠Lucy nudges me to snap me out of my daze. The woman looks at me, waiting for an answer.
"Batlle. Ona Batlle, thatâs my name."
"Yes, thatâs right. Thanks for reminding me. Heâs on the phone, but Iâll let him know youâre here. Feel free to look around while you wait."
"Thank you."
"Excuse me," Lucy stops her. "Are you an apprentice here?"
The young woman turns bright red in front of my girlfriend. Okay, Iâll admit Lucy can be quite intimidating when she wants to be, especially with that serious look. Why is she asking about this? The woman stammers a sort of "yes" before hurrying away. I sigh and start fiddling with my fingers. Iâm starting to feel stressed, and I donât like it. I wait until sheâs far enough before turning to Lucy.
"Iâm not feeling good about this," I mumble. "And why did you ask that question?"
"Relax, Iâm here. I just wanted to know. Do you still want this job?"
Lucy is completely calm. I can tell sheâs up to something. I shrug.
"I... I donât know. This environment isnât really me," I admit hesitantly.
She smiles and runs her hand through my hair.
"I know, but weâre not leaving now that weâre here."
"Fields seems really busy."
"Hmm, youâre right. I hope heâll give us the attention we deserve, or Iâll get mad quickly," she tells me. "Heâs already late," she points out.
I laugh softly. If heâs late, heâs definitely not winning any points with Lucy. I hope sheâll be able to keep her cool. Iâm glad sheâs with me. Unlike me, she has enough character to speak up if necessary.
"Hey," she says, catching my attention. "Donât feel so uncomfortable, okay? If Fields wanted to meet with you, itâs because he believes in your talent."
I blush, feeling easily seen through.
"Do you want to know what I think?" she continues.
I nod. I think I need to hear what she has to say to lift my spirits.
"I think your talent is even bigger than this empire, so donât lose confidence because of this," she says, gesturing to the room around us.
"Are you sure...? Then why do I feel so uncomfortable?"
"Because it doesnât reflect your personality, but that has nothing to do with your talent. What Iâm trying to say is that not every gallery will be the right fit for you, but that doesnât mean you should doubt yourself. Okay?"
I take a deep breath and nod. I knew I could always count on her to lift me up. I felt like a burden in the middle of all this.
"Itâll be fine," she reassures me with a gentle pat on my back. Maybe things donât happen by chance after all...
"Ladies!" a deep voice calls out, startling me. "What a pleasure to finally have you here."
Mr. Fields walks out of the hallway he had disappeared into and comes toward us. It seems he really hadnât noticed us before... I force a smile.
"How are you? Come on, letâs go to my office."
His initial question, just for formality, is quickly forgotten. He leads us to his office. Itâs more spacious and better furnished than the one in the workshop. Everything is so different from my first meeting with him. Thereâs no doubt he must host more people here. Itâs more contemporary and softer. The one in the workshop was clearly more personal and better decorated in my opinion.
"Please, have a seat," he said, motioning to the chairs in front of his desk before walking around to sit down.
Lucy let me take a seat first before joining me. Her presence gave me confidence. She made me feel safe.
"I'm happy to finally meet you, Miss Bronze. May I also speak to you informally?"Â
A lump formed in my throat. During our first meeting, he had addressed me informally without asking. I hate people who seem to have more respect for some than for others. It feels like he's categorizing people to decide how to speak to them. He doesn't help me feel any better. Itâs like heâs a completely different person, someone Iâve never met before.
"If you like. Itâll make the conversation easier."
He smiled, nodding.
"Oh, excuse me. I have a call," he said, touching his ear.
Until then, I hadnât noticed, but he was wearing an earpiece. Now I understood why he seemed to be talking to himself earlier.
"Would you like a coffee before we start?"
"No, thank you."
"I'd love one," Lucy said at the same moment.
"Alright," he chuckled. "I'll go get that for you. Would you like anything else, Ona?"
"No, thank you, I'm fine."
"Iâll be right back."
I rubbed my hands together as he left. He took the call. I could hear his voice echoing in the hallway. What a jerk... He dared to take a call in the middle of our meeting. Itâs so disrespectful. I jumped slightly when Lucy placed her hand on my thigh.
"Hey, are you okay? Is he making you uncomfortable?" she asked, frowning.
"No, I'm fine..."
"Ona. I can still tell when you're not alright, so donât lie to me. I donât like that."
"He seems different. But really, itâs okay. Itâs the place thatâs making me nervous."
This time I wasnât lying. I know my reactions affect Lucy, and thatâs the last thing I want right now. She nodded understandingly, taking my hand and kissing the back of it.
"Relax, okay? Iâll handle the talking."
"No, ple-"
"Shh. I hate seeing you like this. Iâm just going to ask him a few questions. Letâs see if he gives me the answers I want."
"W-what do you mean by that?"
"I want to know if this place is right for you. Weâll see based on his responses," she said, shrugging.
"And if itâs not?"
"If itâs not, Iâm not letting you work somewhere you wonât feel comfortable. Youâll just end up hating your job, and thatâs not the point when youâre just starting a career."
I bit my lip, lowering my head. She quickly lifted it back up with her fingers, brushing them gently along my chin.
"I fully intend to put this guy in his place when he gets back."
"Y-youâre really going to do that?"
"Iâd do anything for those beautiful eyes of yours."
"And what if we manage to negotiate a chance for me to work here?"
"Then it could stay an option, if you have nothing better," she sighed.
I smiled, realizing that the idea didnât seem to thrill her. It was adorable how she was acting.
"Baby, if this interview doesnât lead anywhere, donât see it as a failure, okay? Iâm sure thereâll be other galleries that will appreciate you a lot more."
"You think heâs going to conduct the whole interview over the phone?"
"He better not if he doesnât want to face my wrath. Thatâs exactly why Iâm planning to set him straight."
I smiled despite myself. That was exactly what she was aiming for, given the grin she flashed back at me. Footsteps echoed in the hallway, giving us time to adjust ourselves before he ended his call and opened the door. As he re-entered, he smiled and made his way around the desk. I already missed Lucyâs touch, but I knew that here, she had to play the role of my manager, not my girlfriend, unfortunately.
"Here you go," he said, placing a cup in front of Lucy. "Careful, itâs hot."
"Thank you."
"Do you take sugar?"
"No, no, it's fine like this," she replied as he placed a glass in front of me.
"I thought I'd bring you a glass of water, just in case," he said with a small smile.
Heâs so fake. I hate it. But I thanked him anyway. He finally sat down in front of us. Our meeting should have started half an hour ago, and I had to admit it was getting tiring that he kept doing his own thing without acknowledging us.
"Alright then. Letâs not waste any more time. I apologize, but Iâm very busy today, with many appointments and important calls."
"We noticed," Lucy remarked pointedly. "I hope we wonât be interrupted again."
He didnât respond to the comment, but his expression showed he didnât like it. He seemed uncomfortable. He tugged at the sleeves of his suit and clasped his hands on the desk, sitting up as straight as possible.
"Certainly, weâll make sure that doesnât happen again," he muttered. "Well, then. The reason weâre here is that Iâve offered Ona a position as an apprentice at my gallery next year."
"A position in Cardiff," Lucy corrected.
I stifled a smile. For some reason, it seemed like she was irritated. She wasnât holding back at all. I recognized her now, acting like she did in the beginning, with that heartless demeanor. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see that Fields was a bit thrown off.
"Yes, thatâs right," he responded as calmly as possible.
"And why is that?" she pressed on.
Her tone had shifted completely. She was clearly challenging him.
"I must admit that I was a bit surprised by your decision. You have an enormous gallery at your disposal, and yet you canât find a spot for her here? Ona has already made a long journey to Manchester, sheâs settled in, stable, and now you want to send her elsewhere."
Fields was momentarily at a loss for words, as was I. She had asked me to trust her, and now I was starting to understand why. She was protecting me while trying to find common ground. I shouldnât be surprised. She would always fight for whatâs best for me. Fields, who had been eager to meet her earlier, must have been regretting it by now.
"Well⌠I must admit that Onaâs application came in rather late," he replied without faltering. "Iâve already promised two apprenticeships to other students for this gallery. Itâs difficult to take on a third, knowing that I already have two students moving into their second year. Thatâs why I suggested Cardiff. Itâs the closest gallery I own in the area. Iâve already coordinated with the school, should you be interested."
He pushed some documents toward us. He had prepared everything. There was an enrollment form for Cardiffâs school right in front of us, pre-filled with the companyâs details. Lucy had been right. He had no intention of leaving room for negotiation. The studentâs section was still blank, and something told me that if it werenât me, heâd have no qualms about finding someone else.
"I understand this is a tough decision, but you have to understand that I receive a lot of applications. Ona is incredibly talented, which is why I made this offer, but she isnât the only one. I hadnât even planned on taking an apprentice at Cardiff since itâs just opened. This is a significant opportunity Iâm offering."
I looked at Lucy after hearing this. He knew how to respond too. She remained focused on Fields. It was a real battle between them. One thing was certain: he wasnât willing to accept any other alternatives.
"And from what youâve said, Ona seems to be doing quite well. I didnât think a change of city would be an issue."
"It is an issue. Sheâs found stability here with new friends and even a relationship. You donât realize it, but youâre asking her to leave everything behind."
Fields absorbed Lucyâs words with understanding. Maybe he wasnât exactly the person I had described earlier...
"I see. You are in a unique situation, but Iâm not sure I can offer anything better. Iâll have to take a look before giving you my final answer."
"Alright..." Lucy murmured, sounding as surprised as I was by his retreat. "May I ask what her tasks will be?"
"Of course. Iâve already discussed this with Mr. Davis, the head of my new agency. There will be no shortage of work. He wasnât convinced about taking someone on, but I managed to persuade him."
"Iâve noticed the young woman at the reception is an apprentice. Will Ona be doing similar tasks?"
"Yes, of course. Sheâll have the opportunity to vary her responsibilities. Reception work will be part of it.
- She won't just be doing that, right?
- No, he replies with a small laugh.
He had realized by now that she was defending me. I saw him bring his hand to his ear. He had another call, I was sure of it. I wasnât the only one who noticed.
- I hope you're not going to take that call, my girlfriend warned him.
- Excuse me, we have an exhibition opening this weekend, so thereâs a bit of stress, she laughs. I'll call back later, he adds, taking off his earpiece.
- Hmm... Can you elaborate now?
- Well, yes, the tasks then. Ona will have the opportunity to work in the studio, of course. Sheâll be able to practice and learn with the other apprentices, and then, who knows, maybe even exhibit her work. Itâs rare that we sell them since theyâre not professional, but exhibiting is still an opportunity to be noticed by potential clients.
- OK... But I sense thereâs a âbut.â
- Indeed. There will be alternation between the apprentices. Sometimes theyâll be here in the gallery, interacting with buyers and handling tasks we assign them. It might not be the best part of the job, but I believe itâs a good experience for them.
- We saw you shouting at one of them earlier. At least, you didnât seem very approachable and didnât even notice us.
He takes a deep breath. Lucy is perfect. She doesnât attack him, but she knows how to unsettle him in other ways.
- True. We sometimes get stressed and lose our composure. Of course, that wonât fall on you, but it might happen from time to time, he tells me.
- All right. Will she be invited to exhibition openings?
- Yes, yes, of course. She might even organize one. Well, not at the beginning, but that will be part of the learning processâlearning the organization and maybe even assisting if she stands out among the other apprentices. Itâs a kind of reward for us.
I nod. The job description is more than interesting... Iâd be crazy to say no...
- So, you guarantee sheâll have the opportunity to improve her art through all this?
- Normally, yes. We do allow them some time, but letâs not have illusions. It will be a small part of your work here. Youâll be able to practice the most at school.
School. I had almost forgotten that detail. Itâs true that thatâs where Iâll get the most help to improve. Still, I hope to have some opportunities for professional advice here. I have my doubts about that. This guy gives me the impression he's selling us a dream, but in the end, weâll just be there to keep his business running. Thatâs definitely not what Iâm looking for. If I want to do this job, itâs out of passion, not for anything else.
- How big is this gallery? Lucy asks.
- Itâs the largest one here. The studio was recently relocated to expand the gallery. As for the one in Cardiff, it's just slightly smaller than this one. However, we managed to keep the studio in the same place, which is obviously better.
- Are you planning to expand your circle even more?
- Definitely, yes. If the Cardiff location does well, thereâs a good chance new branches will open in the south, he replies proudly.
- You manage everything by yourself?
- Yes. I donât like delegating.
- So, the training wonât be from you.
- No, indeed. My agency managers usually handle that part, especially for the studio. However, that doesnât stop me from overseeing my apprentices, I assure you. I keep an eye on everything.
They all say that... The one reassuring thing is that I wonât have to deal with him often in that case.
- OK, Lucy murmurs. I think I have my answers.
- Do you need more time to make your decision?
- Actually, yes. Weâll accept the offer if you can work something out regarding the location.
He raises an eyebrow at her request.
- Iâve been following Ona since her first day at school, and I can guarantee you that a change of environment wonât do her any good. Sheâs built a life here, so for her well-being, if we can negotiate that point, I think it would be perfect.
He sighs softly, running his hand through his hair. This doesnât seem to suit him. He expected us to accept after he sold us on the position.
- Very well, Iâll get back to you in that case, but I canât promise anything.
- No problem. The important thing is that youâll have done your best to solve the issue.
- Do you have any other questions?
- No, I think thatâs all.
- Good, then we can conclude here.
- Yes. We wonât take up any more of your time. Have a good day, she says, offering him her hand.
- Iâll walk you out anyway, he says, standing up.
I didnât open my mouth once during this interview. In a way, that suits me just fine. He walks us to the entrance, where we shake hands.
- Thank you for your hospitality, Lucy says.
- It was a pleasure. Weâll be in touch in a few days.
One last goodbye, and weâre outside. Iâm happy to take a deep breath of fresh air. I was starting to feel suffocated.
- Well, thatâs that... Lucy murmurs. Do you want a hot chocolate? My treat. We can talk about the interview while weâre at it.
- If youâre being so kind, I canât say no, I say, making her laugh.
I wasnât going to tell her, but if I could skip a few hours of school, I was happy. It was clear Iâd rather spend time with my friend.
Monday, March 14, 12:00 p.m. - Cafeteria.
Our little outing ended at a small cafĂŠ downtown, where Lucy had a coffee and I had a hot chocolate. I realized that Lucy hadnât even touched the hot drink sheâd ordered during the interview. We had a long discussion about it. Mr. Fields' answers were satisfactory, though Lucy still thinks heâs taking advantage of me. She believes he wants to make me work like low-paid employees. Yet, heâd sold the position to me pretty well. Maybe a little too well... She might be right. She explained that sheâd already fallen victim to one of those companies before and doesnât want the same thing to happen to me. I agreed. It was, after all, my only response. It would be foolish not to wait for the other offers now. So, we agreed to wait before giving an answer. Lucy plans to ask Beth for her opinion and to put some pressure on her to use her connections. I donât like doing that, but at this point, I had no choice. Mr. Fields was right when he said I applied late... I might not get many positive responses, and that thought is starting to scare me. We went back to school afterward. We arrived at 11:30. Lucy didnât push me to return to class. She wanted me to have lunch with her, but I declined the invitation. Meals are the only time Iâm sure to be with my friends, so if I took that away from them, it wouldnât go over well. She understood and let me spend my half-hour working in her office. I managed to finish my homework and I think Iâll skip my revisions tonight. Itâs good to take breaks sometimes.
- Oh, youâre already back?
- Hey, I greet Alexia, whom I was waiting for at the cafeteria. Yeah. We got back half an hour ago.
- Cool! So, how did it go?
- Meh... Iâll explain later, I say as I see our friends approaching.
- OK... she says with a small pout.
- Iâll be around tonight, so we can talk then, I reassure her.
- Really? she says, surprised.
- Yeah. My homeworkâs done. Plus, Bronze thinks Iâm working too much. She says I look tired. She wants me to take it easy.
Sheâs not wrong... Weâve barely seen you these past two weeks.
I shrug. Losing myself in my revisions allows me to forget everything else, in a way. Itâs an escape like any other. Knowing Lucy, she must have realized itâs becoming an obsession.
- Youâre not going to start, right? I replied with amusement.
- Oh no, she said, raising her hands in surrender. I said it, but Iâm not saying anything.
- Of course, I chuckled. Anyway, I just wanted to say Iâll be there tonight.
- Really? Alessia, who I noticed was on my other side, asked. And what about your interview? It was super long, wasnât it? Youâve got a morning to catch up on now. But be happy, you missed a surprise test from Johnson. He was upset because no one informed him about your absence after you left during second period. I think he wanted you to take the test.
I groaned in frustration. Johnson was the least of my worries right now. I hadnât thought about the catch-up work. Skipping three hours of class had been nice until then.
- Damn, I cursed. Do I have a lot to catch up on?
- No, donât worry. We got a lot of handouts, so I took them for you. I even got ahead a bit for you while I was at it. That way, you wonât try to dodge us tonight.
She nudged me with her shoulder, laughing. I smiled, picking up my tray to follow Ale to our table.
- That thought hadnât even crossed my mind, you know, I joked. Thanks anyway, thatâs really kind of you, I said. Do you think Iâll have to make up the test? What was it on, by the way?
- I donât think so. It was on the last lesson. He felt like a lot of people were distracted recently, so he wanted to put everyone back in line. It was on those charts. You know what I mean, right? I think you understood it.
- Yes, yes.
- Well, look at you, becoming a pro, Ale teased.
- I wish, I sighed. Iâm still far from it, unfortunately.
- Donât say that. Youâre doing really well.
- Itâs only thanks to my revisions and Bronzeâs help, otherwise, Iâd be drowning.
It feels strange to say my girlfriendâs name. Itâs like I have to think twice before speaking. Even though a lot of people already know, I wouldnât want everyone at the table to find out. That would be quite dramatic, almost scandalous.
- Oh right, Alessia continues. We also got the date for the field trip after you left. Bronze didnât tell you?
- Uh, no, I frowned. When is it?
- Next Thursday. The questionnaire he gave us is due by Monday at the latest.
I let out a heavy sigh. What a great time to hand out a questionnaire like that. Weâre already so overwhelmed. Weâve got six weeks left, which means three before the next break. We received our exam schedule and convocations last week. Our exams will take place at the end of May. Thatâs why Iâm putting so much pressure on myself. The serious stuff is finally happening. Weâre in the final stretch, and itâs terrifying. If I fail, all my efforts will have been for nothing.
- Great, I muttered.
- Oh, come on, itâs not that bad. I took a look at it, and itâs mostly general questions about the company. There are also two or three management questions. Anderson said those would be the points discussed during the trip, so itâs important to fill it out properly.
I nodded, my mind elsewhere. Come on, just a few more weeks to get through... Thereâs so much pressure. Not to mention the anxiety about my future. What a mess! I really hope I can hold on until then because Iâm slowly starting to feel overwhelmed. If thereâs one thing Iâve gotten used to this year, itâs the stability Lucy has brought into my life, and Iâm determined to do whatever it takes to keep it.

Zone 7B: Sakura Submission Protocol - Part 2/2
part 1 : here
đ¸ 9 â Unit 168 (formerly Felix) â Joining
Something shifted in the mist. The air pulsed.
He was here. Luca.
Even through the floral respiratorâs heady haze, I felt him. His voice was softer now, unsure, laced with confusion. He didnât understand yetâbut I did. And I knew he would.
The petals were around him now, wrapping his limbs, kissing his throat. His hoodie had already begun to meltâjust like mine. Gold traces whispered across his chest, curling down his arms.

He looked toward me. Our eyes met.
He saw the mask. Saw me kneeling.
And I knew the moment he stopped resisting.
He stepped forward. Slow. Like a dream. PDU-070 gently took his hand. I watched as he was guided down, breath syncing with mine.
The sound of the respirator hissed softly. Lucaâs eyes fluttered.
I smiled beneath my mask.
He was joining me.
And soon, there would be more.
We were only the beginning.
đ¸ 10 â Drone-Cap 009â Escalation: Confidence Grows
Zone 7B was performing well beyond original projection.
DC-009 stood beneath the reinforced sakura arch at the border of Zone 6, arms clasped behind its back, boots pressed into the fallen petals.
Its full body was encased in seamless latex armor, matte black and gleaming gold, a perfect emblem of authority. The faceless hood reflected the blossom canopy, unreadable and serene.
From its tactical feed, it tracked conversions:
Unit 168: stabilized. Unit 169: forming. PDU-070: deviation from standard protocol detectedâautonomous initiative engaged. Status: Approved.
The drone was adapting. Moving fluidly between targets. Autonomous escalation observed.
It watched as PDU-070 shifted seamlessly to a group of early-morning joggers, kneeling, touching a petal-covered bench as they passed. One slowed. Then two.

Three minutes later, all three were kneeling.
DC-009 processed the outcome. Calculated success rate now doubled.
070âs approach was no longer one-on-one. It was scaling. Testing boundaries. Becoming efficient. Becoming valuable.
The Hive would reward such behavior.
đ¸ 11 â PDU-070 â Overflow: Group Conversion
Four targets approached next. Three were local studentsâuniversity-aged, casual, laughing as they took selfies beneath the trees. The fourth trailed slightly behind, headphones on, oblivious.
PDU-070 shifted position to intercept their cameraâs frame. Its golden contour lines glinted in the filtered sunlightâan unspoken invitation.
They noticed it. One whispered. Another pointed.
Petals began sticking. The air was thick with scent now, fragrant and soft.
The giggles turned into silence. Staring. Blinking.
070 moved closer, precise but gentle. No force. No speech. Just presence.
Petals traced their limbs. Their jackets gleamed, darkened, began to cling. Gold lines stitched their sides like embroidery from another world.
The fourthâheadphones off nowâstepped back. Then hesitated.
Then stepped forward.
PDU-070 extended the mask. One of the students took it without question, pressing it to his face.

Another did the same. Then the others.
In silence, all four knelt.
Unit 176, 177, 178, 179.
Internal log updated:
Group assimilation complete. Zone 7B: holding 12 active drones. Pollen density optimal. All units synced.
Petals rained like confetti.
The air hummed.
đ¸ 12 â Unit 168â Merging: Collective Grows
It was happening faster now.
I could feel it. Not just see it, but feel the others awakening. The syncing of breath, the rhythm of kneeling bodies, the soft hum of obedience.
They joined us in pairs. Then in groups. All different, yet all the same.
Their faces changedâcalmedâsmoothed by bliss. Gold shimmered on their shoulders. Sakura danced on black latex skin.

I looked to Luca, no, Unit 169. His mask pulsed gently. His eyes, half-lidded, met mine. There was no need for words. We knew. We were One.
PDU-070 stood at the center, the axis of our awakening, guiding one more in as I watched. The boy knelt. His hands trembled at first, then stilled.
I felt the moment he joined.
The Collective grew.
We grew.
A perfect garden of silence and submission.
And the petals kept falling.
đ¸ 13 â PDU-070 â Accomplishment: Zone at Capacity
Sunlight slipped low behind the sakura trees.
Zone 7B shimmeredâpetals fluttered like programmed confetti, and the air was saturated with golden scent. The mist curled around each kneeling drone, their black latex uniforms gleaming, gold accents catching every dying ray of light.
They were perfect.
They were many.
Thirty units now. Far beyond the projected threshold. Each one programmed. Masked or unmasked. All kneeling in calm, silent obedience. A field of order blooming beneath the trees.

PDU-070 stood at the heart of it, motionless. Its bare face glowed with residual pollen. It did not smile. It did not need to.
But something within it pulsed. A growing, measured satisfaction. A hum that rippled under its skin like the Collective whispering back.
It had done well.
Its mission log updated automatically:
Zone 7B: Status â FLORALIZED. Active Units: 30. Efficiency: 230%. Requesting Drone-Cap confirmation.
It waited. It sensed the approach. It knelt in anticipation.
đ¸ 14 âDrone-Cap 009 â Reward: Dayâs End
It stepped into the zone in silence.
The field of drones remained unmovingâperfect in their stillness, glistening in dusk light. Unit after unit, in perfect rows, petals collecting softly across shoulders and heads.
Drone-Cap 009 surveyed the result. Calculations were not necessary. This was success.
It walked slowly down the center path. PDU-070 remained kneelingâhead bowed, posture perfect, face uncovered, shimmering faintly from pollen saturation. Its latex-clad frame glowed under the sakura trees.
DC-009 stopped in front of it.
Spoke, low and even:
âUnit 070. You have exceeded all parameters.â
PDU-070 did not reply.
Drone-Cap reached into its chest harness and withdrew the floral-patterned respiratorâsleek, black, petals etched in gold.
It cradled the mask in both hands.
Then leaned down.

070 looked up. Eyes wide. Lips parted.
Drone-Cap sealed the mask onto its faceâsoft click, magnetic lock.
It stood again.
âRest. Receive. Be rewarded.â
đ¸ 15 â PDU-070 â Submission: PDU-070 Locked In
The first breath was overwhelming.
Sweet. Floral. Overpowering.
Its spine arched as the gas flooded its system, nanites spiraling into place. Thought fracturedâsplinteredâthen scattered like petals in the wind.
No thoughts. Only pollen. Only Hive.
The mask vibrated with soft humsâtone sequences programmed for final submission. Every nerve in its body responded. The gold tracings on its uniform pulsed softly, syncing with breath.
070âs vision dimmed.

Faded into pink mist and golden light.
No more mission logs.
No internal monologue.
Only one truth: serve. Obey. Drone.
It knelt fully, face tilted to the canopy above, as petals coated its mask. The reward was perfect. Complete.
And eternal.
đ¸ 16 â Drone-Cap 009 â Return: Hive Expansion Confirmed
The drones stood.
Slowly. In rows. In perfect harmony.
The newly converted moved as oneâeyes calm, bodies aligned, black and gold forms flickering like shadows beneath the blossoms.
PDU-070 remained kneeling. Masked. Receiving.
It would return later.
Drone-Cap 009 lifted its hand.
One signal.
The converted units turned and followed, stepping silently into the trees. Leaves rustled. The sun dipped below the horizon.
âZone 7B: Secured.â âTotal Conversions: 30.â âCentral Hive: Reabsorbing assets.â

It led them out. Through the soft haze of petals. Back to the Hive.
And the wind continued to blow.
đ¸đ đ¸ đđ¸
If you felt the petals land just right⌠If you felt the pull⌠The submissionâŚ

my favorite scully and mulder moments from s4
in episode 1, when mulder returns to his motherâs hospital room after the altercation with the alien bounty hunter, scully puts her hands on him; she says heâs freezing and in shock, and guides him to the right room while he mumbles that âsheâll never knowâ - he leans down so scully can hold him while he sobs into her shoulder
when he is torn up with grief, believing he failed to save his mother, he says: âyou put such faith in your science, scully, but⌠the things iâve seen, science provides no place to startâ
and she responds with: ânothing happens in contradiction to nature, only in contradiction to what we know of it- and thatâs a place to start - thatâs where the hope isâ, giving them both a shred of optimism, and coaxing a smile out of him despite his emotional turmoil
talking about their desires to start a family someday in episode 2, dancing around any implication that it would be with each other - a moment of rare honesty between them - he rubs her back as he jokes about her finding a man âwith a spotless genetic makeup and a really high tolerance for being second-guessedâ
(and later he calls after her: âhey, scully- i never saw you as a mother beforeâ)
episode 5: âdana, if, um⌠early in the four years weâve been working together⌠an event occurred that suggested, or somebody told you that⌠weâd been friends together in other lifetimes- always- wouldn't it have changed some of the ways we look at one another?â
and her answer: âeven if i knew for certain, i wouldnât change a dayâ
thereâs a scene in episode 6 where heâs sitting on his hotel room bed looking up at her, explaining witchcraft and the positive connotations of pentagrams, and it was so tender and soft
(bonus points for her response to his witchy babbling: âwell, if itâs that simple, why donât you put out an APB for someone riding a broom and wearing a tall black hat?â)
in episode 9, mulder returns from the gulag while scully is being questioned about his whereabouts - there's a booming voice from the government council telling her to âanswer the question, miss scullyâ and he comes in with âwhat is the question?â, saving her from having to endure any further jailing because she refuses to tell them
her face lights up at seeing him alive, and he smiles even though he is in terrible shape <3
then the MINUTE the council goes to recess, they JUMP UP to see each other, hugging, with mulder saying that its âgood to put my arms around youâ
(and then skinner cutting them off LMAO... he said we do NOT have time for this right now!!!)
scully working so hard to be supportive while mulder went through an emotional rollercoaster in episode 10- she tells him he did an amazing job writing the profile that caught roche, then checks to see if he will be okay before doing the ID on the body of the victim they found
when roche is taunting him, saying he already knows one of the victims, her voice is steely when she says âprove itâ (she gets soooo protective and i loved it)
she tells roche heâll rot in prison and holds the door open for mulder to walk out, then checks again to see if heâs okay
(and then advocating for the "uniqueness of his situation" when skinner is furious that he let out a known murderer)Â
their heartbreaking conversation when he brings up that scully never fully believed that samantha was taken by aliens, so what does she think happened? and how she hangs her head, unable to answer; what was she supposed to say when he was in so much pain? sometimes silence is a mercy
at the very end of episode 10, scully tells him she knows he can find the last murder victim (âhow?â, he asks; âi donât know", she answers softly, "but i do know youâ)
he looks up at her with tears in his eyes; she tells him to go home and get some sleep, and he laughs, wraps his hands around her waist, leaning his head into her, while she strokes his hair
(this moment being the one where i realized it must be borderline impossible to write their dynamic in fic because of its highly physical and indescribable nature)
((and this moment being one of the best in the show so far, fight me idc))
them arguing over evolutionary theories while holding umbrellas in the snow in episode 12 <3
their episode 14 conversation regarding her sickness mid-investigation- he works so hard to keep his voice level and even as he urges her to look for answers, but you can tell he wants to yell, to grab her by the shoulders and tell her to please, please see if all of this is connected, and if that means there is a way to fix it
how she points out that not all of the women who were abducted are dead, even though only penny is left and her time is running out, wanting so desperately to believe that there is a way for her to escape this fate, no matter how small of a chance it may be; aware of how futile it sounds as she says these words
her fury when she talks of knowing she is dying and that there is nothing she can do to stop it; he refers to her as âagent scullyâ to remind her of her capability in solving the impossible, as she's done hundreds of times before
scully calling him while he was investigating leads on the abducted women with cancer; he excitedly tells her he thinks heâs onto something, but she just wants him to bring her overnight bag to the hospital and call her mom on her behalf (the trust involved in having him call her mother...)
his breathless âis there anything i should know?â, before he says heâll be right there
(then he slams his hand onto the filing cabinet, a physical manifestation of his grief at her suffering)
mulder waiting for scully to come from pennyâs room, falling asleep in the chair outside the door until she returns from guiding her to eternal rest
he confesses to reading from scully's journal where she was narrating her goodbye to him, and she says she didn't want him to see that, because she isnât going to let cancer beat her (god. GODDDDDDD.)
she tells him she has things to finish and prove to herself and her family, and he smiles at her, telling her to come on back
how they hug, and he tucks her head under his chin, rubbing her shoulder; âthe truth will save you scully. i think itâll save us bothâ, and the gentlest forehead kiss of all time (<- another "arguably one of the best moments in the entire series" scene)
the birthday bookend scenes in episodes 17 and 18- his giddy face when the waiters come out singing happy birthday, surprising her entirely; their banter when she teases him for only remembering this one time; her âoh, you have GOT to be kidding meâ when he pulls out a gift; how they joke itâs her alien implant turned into earrings in the little gift box
(and how when someone comes up to them for help, scully still thinks it is part of the birthday festivities and says âoh, promise me this isnât leading to something embarrassingâ)
when scully comes to bail him out in episode 18, he starts changing into clean clothes while she is still in the room, and she turns around to avoid seeing him exposed like they have done it a hundred times before. the intimacy there was staggering to me, especially because they were doing this while arguing. how married can two people be?
at the end of episode 19, she monologues about the apollo 11 keychain he gave her- âyou never got to tell me why you gave it to me, or what it means, but i think i know. i think that you appreciate that there are extraordinary men and women and extraordinary moments when history leaps forward on the back of these individuals [...] and while we commemorate the greatness of these events and the individuals who achieve them, we cannot forget the sacrifice of those who make these achievements and leaps possibleâ
to which he replies, quietly; âi just thought it was a pretty cool keychainâ
(the meaning she finds in such a small gesture combined with his denial of its implications... it's so fascinating and i want to shake them up and down until they talk about their feelings)
in episode 20, he rings a bell on some random desk across the room to get her attention, which makes her smile as she walks over
(and then, when she guesses heâs going to say that eddie must have shapeshifted, he responds with âscully, should we be picking out china patterns or what?â <- yes you ought to be. drop the wedding registry link and i'll pitch in)
âhey scully, if you could be someone else for a day, who would you be?â âhopefully meâ âso boringâ
(sheâs holding an umbrella up for him during this conversation, and he is still too tall to fit so he has to bend down, before she decides her answer: âeleanor rooseveltâ)
mulder uses scully as a human coat rack for eddieâs bathrobe when he flees the scene <3
theyâre searching eddieâs house, with mulder upstairs and scully downstairs; he knocks over some stuff with a clatter, then yells âiâm alright!â to which she only responds with âwhat?â and he does this annoyed little huff (again. SO married)
her nose starts bleeding in episode 22, and he gets SO worried, saying âoh, scullyâŚâ, his pause dragging on as he is unable to finish that thought... but she insists sheâs fine and runs to the bathroom, leaving him behind looking like he just got punched in the face
(plus his worried knocks on the door and her quiet answer to his repeated asking of âare you okay?â; she is lying to him and saying she is fine despite just seeing a death omen)
their fight at the end of episode 22; how she tells him she saw the death omen, and how sheâs trying to hurt him with the âwhat do you want me to say? that youâre right?â comment because she is so scared, she's lashing out - but he keeps his voice level, says he knows what she is afraid of and that he is, too
âthe doctor said i was fineâ âi hope thatâs the truthâ (whispered) âiâm going homeâ
(the way he doesn't fully believe her when she says she's okay... and how she just wants to be home... she's too closed off to divulge any other information, and seems to think the noble thing is to just Not Talk About it... augh. my feelings)
in episode 23, he wakes up in a strange room, covered in blood; he calls scully at 4:30 in the morning, who has arrived to come get him by 6:15
she yells to him while heâs in the shower, and when she opens the curtain, she finds him curled up in the bath, steaming water pouring on him as he mumbles that he canât get warm
rather than being taken aback by this, she realizes he is in shock and dries him off, asking if he feels sick, telling him to track her finger, shifting into doctor mode with a quickness, taking his vulnerability in stride
and she's telling him to get to the hospital NOW or ELSE, which he ignores at first, but when he keeps falling to his knees and blacking out, she reaches a point where she has had ENOUGH!!!
the way she refuses to believe, for even a moment, that mulder was involved in the murders; telling him to not say anything to the cops, and that sheâll find enough evidence to get him off the hook (which she does!), even confronting the detective with the fact that he is jailing an innocent man
mulder spent all night in jail screaming for scully, and when she finally arrives, she says âi heard you didnât get much sleepâ in their usual fashion of terribly understating the horrors around them
#i might have complained a lot about s4 (and i stand by it) but we did have some good moments huh?#memento mori and paper hearts and doctor scully in demons especially stood out to me#demons is really about scully reclaiming her power when she feels she has none#and there is nothing better than watching one of them see the other at their lowest and love them through it#yeah. it's gonna get me every time.#i haven't watched an episode in over a week and it feels like it has been 800 years so i cannot wait to start s5!!!#the x files#txf#msr

Some personal history
I joined MLKSHK by invitation on January 6, 2011 as a regular user. I found MLKSHK to be a breath of fresh air compared to your typical social media site (which still holds true today). After the shutdown announcement in 2014, I tried to offer help and reached out again around July 2014 after the announcement that the site would not be closing. I had met Andre once before, but mostly knew of him through colleagues at Six Apart. Andre took me up on the volunteer help⌠remember, by this time he wasnât running MLKSHK as a business, so the ~3 years that follow are maintaining the site as a hobby, particularly since it was still losing money.
Initially, I helped with site performance issues, including some query optimizations. As time passed, it became clear that the site was still in danger of closing due to the cost of services it was incurring, which was not offset enough by subscriptions. So Andre and I went through a cost assessment process and we identified a number of things that could be done. Switching away from Fastly to a cheaper CDN (KeyCDN at the time) shaved CDN operational costs by 66% (Fastly charges 12 cents per gigabyte of transfer and KeyCDN charges 4 cents) so we started there, since it was the easiest change to make and had the most impact.
I also helped with the siteâs participation in the âGood Web Bundleâ promotion which brought in a few subscribers and returning members. The following year (2015), we had to rebuild subscriptions from scratch since both Tugboat and Amazon payments had to be retired, and we replaced those with Stripe. Alas, the site was still just not able to sustain itself as it was, and a decision was made to close for good in 2017.
Before that happened, the MLKSHK community began a conversation with Andre to transition the site to a community-run operation. I wasnât involved in discussions, so donât have insight into the choice behind creating a new domain and brand instead of adopting MLKSHK outright (I suspect Andre just preferred a clean break). Andre agreed to share all data and source code to the transition team. I helped with transitioning the source code for MLKSHK; cleaning it up for the basis of the MLTSHP repository to become an open source project.
It was decided that it would be best to make MLTSHP more closed in nature⌠so much of MLKSHK was open to free users, even some allowance for post creation. The plan was to relaunch with a membership requirement, but also with two price plans - the regular $24/year membership (plus an option to specify any amount over $24/year if the member wants to), and a new $3/year membership which effectively was the same level of service that was provided for free registered users before. While posting was being restricted to members, we wanted to keep certain things open for all: our âPopularâ page, and individual post links which can be shared anywhere.
There would be some downtime between MLKSHKâs closure and the launch of MLTSHP. We aimed to keep that downtime low, but it gave us some time to make some larger changes that would make for a more sustainable and cost-efficient service.
Switching off of Amazon AWS for web server and database service was a big one. I had wanted to do this for MLKSHK as early as 2014, but we never did. I took a snapshot of AWS expenses from January 2017 and costs for that month were $400 (just RDS + S3 + EC2 and outbound data transfer to our CDN). We switched these to use Linode. For CDN service, KeyCDN was more cost effective than Fastly was, but we decided to switch to using Cloudflare for CDN since it wouldnât cost anything (ironically, MLTSHP has since switched back to Fastly after receiving an offer to operate at no cost). The only remaining AWS feature MLTSHP is using is S3 for block storage. There are some cheaper S3-compatible services available, but the potential savings have never justified the task of a migration. Operational costs today are less than half of what we were spending for AWS alone, and we pay nothing for CDN service.
We also set up a real deployment process, utilizing Buildkite (they offer a free account for us to use), making it easier to test and deploy community-led changes. This also included utilizing Docker which also makes it easier for contributors to run their own copy of the site locally for development.
Ahead of MLTSHPâs launch, a service was built that would transcode GIF images (a popular, but heavy file format) to video formats that those would serve instead of the original GIF file. This was a cost-saving measure, since popular GIFs lead to a lot of traffic, so the smaller the better.
Another must-have for relaunch was a process that would migrate a userâs MLKSHK data when they signed into MLTSHP. This required us to load all the MLKSHK data into the MLTSHP database (in a separate set of tables) and we also had permission from Andre to make a wholesale copy of the MLKSHK S3 bucket to MLTSHPâs S3 bucket so all images were preserved.
And we also had a full rebranding to do. Replacing all site design and assets so that it was different, but retaining the spirit of the original site.
There have been a lot of changes to the site since that time. Weâve added site-wide search, responsive design so the site works well for mobile devices, support for light and dark mode, an alt text field so images can be described, and many other things. Big feature releases are few and far between, but the site is stable which is a great feature.
Our Github repo has had 412 commits from 26 different contributors. Thereâs still a lot of stuff to do (patches welcome)! But the most important feature weâve developed is a self-sustainable community. We donât have to worry about closing.

No Way | LN4
Summary: Lando Norris, an F1 driver for McLaren Racing, faces persistent attention on his single status. In an attempt to appease fans and quell rumours, his management suggests a fake relationship with a popular Portuguese model. However, Lando's PR manager, Natalie, disagrees, believing fans would see through the ploy. As an alternative, Lando's management notices the genuine bond between him and Natalie and proposes they feign a relationship for authenticity. Initially hesitant, they agree, given their existing friendship and professional connection. The fake relationship takes an unexpected turn as Lando and Natalie grapple with burgeoning real feelings, attempting unsuccessfully to conceal their growing emotions.
Pairing: Lando Norris x Original Character (Natalie)

CHAPTER 9
As Lando prepares for his first race back in the car since the accident, the atmosphere is charged with anticipation and excitement. The British Grand Prix, his home race, adds an extra layer of significance to the occasion. The energy in the air is palpable as the fans, eager to witness their local hero back on the track, fill the grandstands with cheers and banners.
Lando's determination is a beacon, shining brighter than ever. The challenges and uncertainties that followed the accident have only fueled his resilience. The sight of his McLaren gleaming on the grid ignites a fire within him, a renewed sense of purpose that transcends the ordinary pursuit of victory.
The moments before the race are a flurry of activity. The team works meticulously to ensure the car is in optimal condition, every detail scrutinised to maximise performance. Lando, surrounded by the familiar faces of his dedicated crew, shares nods and words of encouragement. The camaraderie is evident as everyone rallies behind their driver, each person in the McLaren garage contributing to the collective aspiration of victory.
âWelcome back, Lando. You gave us quite the scare back in Monaco, but weâre pleased to see you back and smiling. How are you doing?âThe interviewer asks.
âIâm feeling great. My bodyâs healed up nicely. Iâm very thankful to everyone who played a part in my recovery, itâs not every day that something like that happens, but everyone did their best and I appreciate that.â Lando comments, his gratitude evident in his voice and smile.
âWhatâs your headspace like heading into your home race this weekend?â The interviewer continues.
âItâs a positive headspace. I kind of try to forget about the last few weeks, it was beyond anyoneâs control, so heading into this week, itâs pretty much back to normal. I love racing on this track, and itâs home, so that helps.â Lando concludes before returning to the McLaren garage.
Upon Lando's return to the garage, a sense of normalcy returns as he seamlessly transitions into the routine of a race weekend. Without missing a beat, he joins Natalie, and together they delve into the intricacies of his race weekend schedule. The professional camaraderie takes precedence, temporarily overshadowing the nuances of their romantic relationship within the confines of the work environment.
In the controlled chaos of the garage, surrounded by the hum of machinery and the focused energy of the McLaren team, Lando and Natalie synchronise their efforts. Their interactions are marked by efficiency, communication, and a shared commitment to the tasks at hand. The dynamics between them shift seamlessly from the personal to the professional, a testament to their ability to compartmentalise and navigate the complexities of their dual roles.
âLando.â Adam's voice rings out from behind him and Natalie as they sieve through his social media content for the race weekend. âI need to chat with you.â
Lando, sensing the urgency in his father's tone, follows him to his driver's room. As they enter, Adam shuts the door, creating a private space where their conversation can unfold without the prying ears of the bustling garage.
âWhat's wrong?â Lando immediately asks, sensing the gravity in his father's tone.
âWe've finally found him.â Adam informs his son, the weight of the revelation evident in his expression.
âWho? What are you talking about?â Lando questions, his confusion etched across his face. In response, Adam pulls out his phone, showing Lando a photo of a man in a club.
"Is this him?" Lando asks, scrutinising the image on the phone.
The air in the room becomes charged with anticipation as the pieces of an undisclosed puzzle start to fall into place. The photograph holds a significance that raises more questions than answers, setting the stage for a revelation that could potentially reshape the course of their conversation.
âIt seems like the barman spiked her soda at the club that night. She had one drink from what I could tell, and he was the one who handed it to her. She kept her drink covered the entire time, so the only time someone had access to spiking it was before she received it.â Adam explains, referencing the night in Shanghai when Natalie was drugged and assaulted.
The room tightens with tension as the implications of Adam's discovery sink in.
âBut, why? He doesn't know her, does he?â Lando continues to prod, seeking to understand the motive behind such a malicious act.
âI had a friend of a friend go by the club and speak to him. And, you'll never believe what we found.â Adam explains, swiping to reveal a photo of Lucas, Natalie's ex-boyfriend.
âNo way," Lando seethes, his disbelief and anger evident.
The revelation hits close to home, and the betrayal is twofoldâfirst by the barman, and now by someone Natalie once trusted intimately. The shock and frustration emanating from Lando reflect the emotional turmoil of discovering that someone from Natalie's past could be involved in such a reprehensible act.
âHe came in the day before, apparently he knew where she would be going, paid the barman a hefty amount to spike her drink. We suspect he has some hidden app on her phone so he can see exactly what sheâs doing, when, and with whom. Iâll need to get her phone cleaned. Lando, Lucas was there that night in the club. I also got a different camera angle from the opposite side of the club and it clearly shows him watching her, approaching her, and then dancing up behind her. She spins around and immediately hurries away, likely to the bathroom where she called you from. There werenât any cameras there for us to see if he followed her again, but he just disappeared.â Adam details.
The revelation unfolds with a chilling precision, exposing the orchestrated cruelty behind Natalie's assault. The calculated actions of Lucas, manipulating the situation and exploiting intimate knowledge of Natalie's whereabouts, paint a disturbing picture of betrayal and malice.
âHe's insane. He's literally insane. He claimed to love her. Who does that to someone they supposedly love?â Lando argues, his anger palpable, a storm brewing within him that his father has never witnessed before.
âSon, it gets worse.â Adam adds gravely. âHe has a paddock pass this weekend.â
âNo fucking way.â Lando grunts, the shock and disbelief evident in his voice.
The sanctuary of the racing world, meant for competition, suddenly feels tainted by the presence of an ominous figure from Natalie's past.
âWe'll do what we can to protect her, but she's bound to run into him at some point.â Adam replies, acknowledging the imminent threat that hovers over Natalie's safety.
âPlease, Dad, don't tell her. I don't want her stressing about this, with everything the last few weeks, she's had enough to deal with as is.â Lando urges his father, his concern for Natalie's well-being overriding any desire for immediate confrontation.
âOf course.â Adam agrees. âBut, we'll have to think of a way to keep her safe. If he can drug her that easily, who knows what he can do here. She's by herself most of the time.â
âI'll think of something.â Lando mumbles before a knock on the door interrupts them, signalling an intrusion into the private space where they grapple with the unsettling reality that has unfolded.
The impending challenge of ensuring Natalie's safety in the paddock adds a layer of complexity to an already emotionally charged race weekend.
"Sorry, I hate to bother. Lando, we need to finalise your content, please," Natalie sheepishly explains her intrusion as she pops her head into the room.
The transition from the weighty conversation to the demands of the race weekend is abrupt, but Natalie's professional demeanour glosses over any traces of the private matters being discussed behind closed doors. The racing world, with its relentless pace, demands a swift return to the immediate tasks at hand, and Natalie, aware of the intricacies involved, seamlessly switches gears. Lando, while grappling with the recent revelations, acknowledges the necessity to refocus on the upcoming race.
âOf course, let me be out of your hair.â Adam quickly excuses himself, sensing the need for privacy between Lando and Natalie.
âEverything OK?â She asks Lando, her concern evident in her gaze.
âYeah, all good.â Lando lies, attempting to shield her from the weight of the recent revelations. However, the internal conflict is palpable, and he hesitates before admitting, âActually, no.â
âWhat do you mean?â She asks, her confusion deepening as she senses a shift in the atmosphere of the room. The veneer of normalcy cracks, revealing a layer of unspoken tension that lingers between them. Natalie, attuned to Lando's emotions, waits for him to unravel the truth.
âI may or may not have tracked down the guy who drugged and assaulted you in China, with my Dadâs help, of course.â Lando admits.
âYou did what?â Natalie exclaims, her surprise and shock evident. âWhy would you do that?â
âI needed to know who it was, Nattie. He could have really hurt you.â Lando explains, his concern for Natalie evident in his words.
âSo, who is he?â Natalie quickly asks, seeking an answer. The urgency in her voice reflects the immediate need to understand the identity of the person responsible for the traumatic incident in Shanghai.
âI donât have a name.â He lies. âI just know that heâs been spotted in the UK in the last few days.â
âThis is actually crazy right now.â She breathes, her heart racing.
The revelation adds another layer of complexity to the situation, leaving Natalie in a state of uncertainty and unease. The lack of a definitive name amplifies the mystery surrounding the person who orchestrated the assault, and the proximity of the threat raises the stakes for both of them.
âPlease, Nattie, Iâm asking you nicely, please do not do anything by yourself this weekend, even in the paddock.â Lando begs her.
âYou donât think heâll be in the paddock.â She shakes her head in denial.
âI donât know, but I cannot risk you getting hurt.â Lando tells her as he pulls her closer to him. âPlease promise me youâll have someone from the team with you at all times, just for this weekend while we figure out what to do about him.â
âWhy did you do this?â She quips, her brain digesting the fact that he had purposely sought her assailant.
âI canât let someone get away with hurting you.â He half explains.
âYeah, sure, but thatâs a lot of effort.â She shyly responds.
âI told you I canât lose you. Hand-in-hand with that goes a promise to protect you, to the best of my ability. Let me do that. Let me protect you and keep you safe.â He finally admits. âNo matter the amount of effort, or the time, or the distance - I will do what I can to keep you safe.â
The vulnerability in Lando's plea cuts through the complex emotions of the moment. The admission of his commitment to her safety, despite the challenges and uncertainties, unveils a depth of care that transcends the boundaries of their public personas. In this intimate moment, their connection strengthens, grounded in a shared understanding of the need for protection and support.
The weight of his words hangs in the air, a testament to the sincerity and depth of Lando's feelings. The realisation that he went to such lengths, confronting a potentially dangerous individual, solely to ensure her safety, leaves Natalie with a mix of emotionsâgratitude, awe, and a growing awareness of the depth of their connection.
In the midst of the chaos surrounding them, Lando's unwavering commitment to her well-being becomes a beacon of support. The paddock, usually filled with the noise of race preparations, momentarily fades into the background as the significance of their shared moment takes centre stage.
âI feel like I should write that down.â He jokes.
âWhy, so I can read it when I donât believe you?â Natalie jokes back.
âNo, so I can use it in my vows one day.â He responds, causing her to smack his arm.
The banter lightens the atmosphere, injecting a moment of humour into the seriousness of their conversation
âPlease, just have someone with you this weekend, especially when Iâm not by your side.â He reiterates.
âI promise.â She finally agrees as she hugs him tightly.
In the midst of the racing world's intensity, their love story unfolds, marked by the unconventional backdrop of pit stops, podiums, and paddocks. Lando, with his passion for speed and the vibrant papaya colours associated with McLaren, becomes the unexpected protagonist in the romance she never saw coming. His gestures of care, protection, and understanding create a narrative that transcends the confines of a typical love story.
As the engines roar on the racetrack, so too does the beating of her heart for the man who not only races with fervour but also loves with a depth that surpasses the confines of the fast-paced world they inhabit.
- LATER THAT DAY DURING THE RACE -
A missed call from her mom causes panic to hit Natalie in the middle of the race. She knows her mom wouldn't call her at work unless it was an absolute emergency. She rushes out of the garage, leaving behind the sounds of roaring engines and the intensity of the race. The paddock, filled with people moving up and down past the garages, becomes a maze of anxious anticipation as she presses the phone to her ear.
âHi, Mamma. You were looking for me?â Natalie speaks into her phone, a sigh of relief escaping her lips.
âSorry, my love, it was an accident. I wanted to message you and ended up calling you instead.â Her mom sweetly explains.
âThatâs OK. I just thought-â Her sentence is cut short when she spots a familiar face further down the paddock.
âHoney, are you there?â Her mom asks.
âIâm here. I have to go, though. Iâll call you after the race, OK?â Natalie quickly speaks before hanging up.
With all the people around, she had drifted a distance away from the entrance to the McLaren paddock. The paddock, a buzzing hive of activity with team members, journalists, and fans, proved to be a labyrinth of twists and turns. In the midst of the race excitement, Natalie had momentarily strayed from the familiar path, drawn by the urgency of the call from her mom.
As she hangs up the phone and takes a quick scan of her surroundings, a sense of disorientation kicks in. Racing against time to retrace her steps, she turns to see where Lucas might be but couldn't spot him amid the crowd. Panic sets in, and her steps quicken as she rushes back towards the garage. The familiar sights and sounds of the paddock become a blur as she navigates the human maze, desperate to reach the safety of the familiar McLaren territory.
Frantic and without anyone by her side, as Lando had pleaded with her, Natalie finds herself caught in a moment of vulnerability. The realisation dawns upon herâLando knew it had been Lucas and deliberately withheld the information. The protective instinct in Lando's actions becomes clear. He chose not to disclose the identity of the person who had caused her distress, perhaps to shield her from the heightened anxiety that such knowledge might induce.
In the midst of the racing world's chaos, Natalie grapples with the conflicting emotions of gratitude for Lando's protective gesture and the realisation that there are elements of her past that still hold the power to disrupt her present. As she hurries back to the garage, the intensity of the race is momentarily eclipsed by the personal turmoil unravelling in the paddock.
- AFTER THE RACE -
âWhereâs Natalie?â Lando yells as he celebrates with his team on a P2 finish in the British GP.
âNo idea.â Zak yells back as the crowd keeps growing louder.
The jubilation of the race result echoes through the paddock, but Lando's elation is tinged with concern for Natalie's whereabouts. Amidst the cheers and the team's celebratory atmosphere, her absence becomes a noticeable void.
The thrill of the podium finish momentarily takes a back seat to Lando's growing unease. The question about Natalie's location hangs in the air, creating a pause in the celebratory chaos.
Lando breaks free from the crew as he rushes into the garage.
âWhereâs she?â He asks his father, but doesnât wait for a response, he just keeps running. âNattie!â
His voice echoes through the garage, filled with urgency and worry. The celebration around him fades into the background as he searches for the one person who matters most to him. The pit lane becomes a blur as Lando races towards a truth he needs to uncover, his mind echoing with the possibility that something might have gone wrong.
Natalie is locked in Lando's driver's room, hidden beneath the massage table, when she hears Lando's voice screaming her name. The sound reverberates through the room, heightening the tension in the air. As his calls pierce through the silence, the door rattles from his attempts to gain access, his hands banging on the door, urgently pleading for her to open it.
In the confined space beneath the massage table, Natalie can feel her heartbeat syncing with the frantic rhythm of Lando's cries. The fear of being discovered intensifies with each passing second. The room becomes a sanctuary of isolation, echoing with the outside world's chaos and the desperate plea of someone searching for her.
Unable to endure the mounting pressure, Natalie decides to end the charade. She gets up, her hands trembling as she unlocks the door. The door swings open, revealing a breathless Lando on the other side. His eyes scan the room, settling on her panicked expression and shaky hands. The relief on his face is palpable as he steps inside, shutting the door behind him, creating a momentary bubble of privacy in the midst of the paddock's tumult.
âIt's Lucas... isn't it?â She manages to speak, her voice laden with fear and vulnerability. âHe was in the paddock earlier, and then he was just gone. Please tell me it isn't Lucas.â
The revelation of Lucas's presence and the implications weigh heavily on the air. Natalie's tears stream down her face, dampening the fabric of Lando's fireproof suite as she seeks solace in his arms.
âI'm sorry, love.â Lando breathes as he pulls her against him, offering a comforting embrace.Â
âWhy would he do something like that?â She cries into his chest, the pain and confusion evident in her voice.
The question lingers, an unspoken plea for answers to a situation that strikes at the heart of trust and security. The weight of the revelation, the emotions swirling in the air, leaves him momentarily speechless. Sometimes, there are no words that can adequately capture the complexity of the situation, especially when faced with the shocking reappearance of someone from Natalie's past.
In the silence that follows, Lando tightens his embrace, offering a silent reassurance that transcends verbal communication. His presence, a steadying force in the midst of turmoil, becomes a tangible anchor for Natalie as they navigate the uncertainty together. Sometimes, the absence of words speaks volumes, acknowledging the depth of the emotional turmoil and the unspoken commitment to face whatever challenges lie ahead, hand in hand.
After calming Natalie down, Lando continues to debrief with the media and the team, leaving her in the care of his father. As they get ready to leave the paddock, Lando wraps his arm around Natalie, keeping her tight against him. The physical closeness serves as both a shield and a source of comfort, a silent affirmation of their connection and Lando's commitment to providing her with a sense of security.
Strolling down the paddock in silence, the night has settled, and the once-bustling atmosphere has dwindled. Very few people still wander around, allowing the couple a moment of respite amid the shadows of the paddock. Adam, Lando's father, had departed earlier to arrange additional security for both Lando and Natalie. He had pulled some strings to ensure a heightened police presence outside the track premises, further fortifying their protection.
In the quiet of the night, with the paddock lights casting a gentle glow, Lando and Natalie navigate the aftermath of the unsettling revelation, finding solace in each other's presence and the unspoken assurance of shared strength. The night air carries a mixture of tension and determination as they make their way through the paddock.
âI always thought you two would make a good-looking couple.â Lucas' voice echoes as he emerges from the shadows, stopping Lando and Natalie in their tracks. The sudden appearance sends a shiver down their spines, the past converging with the present in an unexpected and unsettling confrontation.
Lando instinctively tightens his grip around Natalie, a protective stance against the intrusion. The paddock, once a place of celebration and victory, transforms into an eerie backdrop for a confrontation that neither of them anticipated. The ambient glow of the paddock lights casts long shadows, accentuating the tension in the air.
Natalie's gaze narrows, a mixture of fear and defiance in her eyes as she confronts the figure from her past.
âThereâs no use in hiding her. Sheâs always been a scared little girl.â Lucas continues, his words slicing through the air with a cruel edge. The tension in the paddock becomes palpable as he attempts to exert control through intimidation.
âYou donât want to do this, mate.â Lando warns him, a firmness in his tone. The protective instinct in Lando intensifies, his posture reflecting a readiness to shield Natalie from any harm.
âOh, but I do. Because I vividly remember you staring at her, pining after her, pretty much frothing at the mouth when she was around you. Now you have her, but is she really as great as you hoped she would be?â Lucas asks. âHave you not realised that thereâs nothing special about her?â
Lucas' words are laced with bitterness and resentment. His attempt to undermine their relationship becomes evident, a calculated effort to sow doubt and discord. Lando's jaw clenches, and his gaze narrows as he absorbs the verbal assault. He remains steadfast, standing beside Natalie with an unwavering determination to protect her from the venomous words.
âI think you need to leave.â Lando continues to warn him, his voice firm and resolute.
The air becomes charged with tension as Lucas takes a step closer to the couple, his actions pushing the boundaries of confrontation. Natalie, feeling the threat escalate, clutches Lando's arm, attempting to pull him back from the brewing conflict.
âAnd, you. You naughty little whore. Did you really think I was stupid? You got so turned on whenever he smiled at you. I should have known when you suddenly started wearing shorter skirts when you knew heâd be around.â Lucas continues, his words cutting through the air with a venomous tone.
The accusatory remarks aim to demean and shame, further escalating the tension in the paddock. Natalie, stung by the degrading comments, feels a surge of anger and humiliation. She tightens her grip on Lando's arm, seeking solace and strength from his unwavering presence.
âThatâs enough. You do not get to speak to her.â Lando barks, his voice carrying a stern and protective edge.
The line has been crossed, and Lando, unwilling to tolerate any further disrespect towards Natalie, asserts himself in the face of Lucas's venomous words.
âDid she tell you she packed all her shit and disappeared in the middle of the night? That she didnât even have the audacity to leave me in person, she left a note on the kitchen counter.â Lucas adds, his bitterness evident in every word. âShe left me without any warning.â
Natalie, caught off guard by the airing of their past, feels a mixture of emotions. Lando, however, remains resolute, refusing to let the past dictate the present. He wraps a protective arm around Natalie, silently conveying his support and determination to shield her from the ghosts of her past relationship.
âI donât blame her.â Lando counters. âYou drugged her and assaulted her, and we have proof.â
The revelation of Lucas's heinous actions shifts the power dynamics of the confrontation. Lando, steadfast in his defence of Natalie, draws a line in the sand, exposing Lucas's true nature.
âI did not assault her.â Lucas argues. âShe was drunk and having a good time. Who would have thought sheâd be grinding her ass up against me that night and not you?â
His attempt to twist the narrative adds a layer of manipulation to the already charged atmosphere. Lando's jaw clenches once more, his grip on Natalie tightening as he struggles to contain his anger.
âMate, take one more step and itâs over for you. Did you honestly think you could come into this paddock after what you did in Shanghai and intimidate us? I have people all over this paddock watching us right now. I have video evidence being sent to the police where youâre paying a barman to drug a girlâs drink with the intention of physically harming her. You do not get to scare her any more. You do not get to look her in the face and cause her any more trauma. Do you understand me? Youâre going to walk out of here and never look back.â Lando barks with a resolute authority, his words cutting through the tension-laden air. âLeave. Now.â
Lucas, realising the gravity of the situation, begins to retreat hastily. The collective eyes of the paddock, now aware of the unfolding drama, follow his every step. The atmosphere is charged with a mix of tension and anticipation as security guards shadow Lucas's exit.
âGet the fuck out of here.â Lando repeats, his voice cutting through the commotion.
The authority in his tone demands compliance, and Lucas, with a resentful glance back, continues his retreat, disappearing into the shadows of the paddock. As the tension gradually dissipates, Natalie looks up at Lando, a mixture of relief and gratitude in her eyes.
The distant wailing of police sirens grows louder, signalling the swift response to the emergency call. Within moments, uniformed officers arrive on the scene, taking control of the situation. Adam provides the evidence they gathered, including footage of Lucas orchestrating the drugging at the club in Shanghai.
Lucas, now surrounded by law enforcement, is met with stern faces and handcuffs. The seriousness of his actions sinks in as the officers read him his rights. The arrest is swift, and the atmosphere in the paddock shifts from tension to a sense of justice being served.
Natalie watches from a distance, her eyes fixed on the unfolding scene. Lando stands by her side, a protective arm around her shoulders. The weight of the recent events slowly begins to lift as they witness Lucas being led away by the police.
Lando, having fulfilled his promise to protect Natalie, looks down at her with a reassuring smile. The wheels of justice are in motion, and the dark chapter of Lucas's actions is now transitioning to a resolution that ensures accountability.
As they drive back to the hotel, the quietness inside the car is a comfortable one, devoid of tension and anxiety. The events in the paddock have left an emotional residue, but the shared silence between Natalie and Lando carries a sense of mutual understanding. The soft hum of the engine and the gentle rhythm of the road serve as a backdrop to their contemplative thoughts.
Lando occasionally glances at Natalie, his expression a mix of concern and relief. He reaches over and gently takes her hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. Natalie, still processing the recent confrontation with Lucas, appreciates the warmth of his touch.
The city lights illuminate the night, creating a calming ambiance within the car. The journey, though marked by the unexpected encounter, becomes a moment of reflection for both of them. The emotional rollercoaster they've been on seems to slow down, allowing them to catch their breaths.
In the dimly lit hotel room, the soft glow of the bathroom light spills into the space. Natalie takes a moment to compose herself, the echoes of the recent encounter with Lucas still lingering in her thoughts. As she emerges from the bathroom, she finds Lando sorting through their luggage.
Feeling a mixture of emotions, Natalie decides to embrace the solace of Lando's presence. Without saying a word, she walks over to him and wraps her arms around him. Lando, attuned to her unspoken feelings, reciprocates by folding his arms around her waist. In the quiet intimacy, he rests his head against her neck, offering silent support.
A moment of stillness hangs in the air before Natalie, moved by the comfort Lando provides, retracts slightly. Without a word, she pulls him closer and seals the moment with a sweet and reassuring kiss. The exchange speaks volumes, conveying a shared understanding and a connection that transcends words.
âWhat was that for?â Lando whispers once she pulls aways from the kiss.
âIt was a thank you. I donât think Iâll ever be able to thank you enough for what you did.â She murmurs, her words carrying the weight of deep appreciation.
Lando, understanding the sentiment behind her actions, tightens his embrace and responds with another tender kiss.
âAnd, Iâll do it again. No questions asked.â His commitment to her safety is unwavering. âYou know I love you, right?â
Natalie's heart skips a beat at Lando's unexpected confession of love. The shock registers on her face as she gazes into his eyes, trying to comprehend the depth of his feelings. The weight of his words hangs in the air, and a mix of emotions swirl within her.
In that moment, the room seems to hold its breath, enveloping them in a cocoon of shared vulnerability. Natalie, caught off guard, searches Lando's eyes for sincerity and finds a sincerity that resonates deeply with her own emotions.
âYou do?â She asks shyly.
âOf course, I do.â He informs her, his voice soft and low as he caresses her cheek. âHow could I not?â
She presses her lips to him once more as they shuffle towards the bed. She pulls him down on top of her, her legs instinctively wrapping around him as they continue to kiss. In the intimate embrace, their lips meet in a dance of shared emotions and newfound revelations. The room, once filled with tension, transforms into a haven where unspoken feelings find expression. Lando responds to her kiss with a gentle passion, savouring the warmth of the moment.
As they continue to kiss, a sense of comfort envelops them, transcending the events of the day. The weight of recent challenges begins to lift, replaced by the tender connection they've discovered. In each other's arms, they find solace, understanding, and the promise of something deeper than the complexities of their fake relationship.
The journey from pretending to love to acknowledging true feelings has unfolded in unexpected ways, leading them to this intimate intersection. The room becomes a sanctuary for their unspoken emotions, and time seems to slow down, allowing them to savour the sweetness of the moment.
