Sitting in a college class and seeing the person in front of me ask chatgpt how mercury being in retrograde is affecting them. Listening to a student speak with a teacher about how middle school students are not being allowed to use chatgpt is screwing them over for the future. It makes me wonder what happened to being curious? People are losing their desire to research and formulate their own opinions. In a class, I had to do a report on Harrison Ford and went down a rabbit hole of research detailing his influence on politics. I wasn't even that interested in doing the report. If I had asked chatgpt to do it, it likely would have given me the standard song and dance about how he was an innovator who made good cars and the assembly line.
