KELVINGTON. Sask.. July 7 - Admission he took part in the murder of Corporal L. V. Ralls on the outskirts of Foam Lake, Tuesday morning, implication of his brother and a third man and confession his name was not Danchuk, but Kurulak - these facts were gained by Royal Canadian Mounted Police in an alleged confession by the one member of the trio of desperadoes whom police have captured in the hunt for Rall's slayers.
The confession was made by Kurulak late tonight after he had been brought into Kelvington by police.
Besides himself. there, were his brother, Bill Kurulak, and a third by the name of Bill Miller, alias Gregory, Kurulak's confession stated. It is known that Miller has been wanted by, police since 1928 for a crime at Rosetown, the nature of which could not be learned.
Capture of Danchuk was effected amid a fusillade of shots from two of the men, who got away after a grueling, merciless and relentless pursuit since early Tuesday morning. when police and armed citizens of the district swarmed over muddy roads, at times their cars mired. They were often without food. But they stuck doggedly to their objective.
some older arya and sansa in northern attire. i've always been a subscriber to the "arya ends up taller" idea, because my brain has equated long faces with tall people and also i think it would be funny
“He’s always angry, but we haven’t done anything.”
“…but I have a crooked finger, just like Mama!”
“We were born here. Mama is our mother.”
“I do not wish to be different.” “Nor do I.”
“So let us be good sons and please those who love us, so they may forget what we lack.”
I’m never going to recover from this. Once again scenes were removed that would add to both boys characterizations, and we all know why. The scenes would make the audience realize how Aemond’s ‘I’m being bullied for not having a dragon :( I’m the real victim!’ storyline so fallible and easy to shatter in universe because it’s a completely normal occurrence for Targaryen’s. Aemond is not the first child to not have a dragon by the age of ten, the original conqueror’s, Baelon, Alyssa, Rhaenys, Laena, Viserys, Daemon, Aegon II, Helaena, etc. all claimed young or fully grown dragons somewhere between the ages of 11-18.
The only character that had the potential to be marketed as his biggest bully is his brother. They’re never going to convince me (and many others) that it was Rhaenyra’s sons who would ever go after another child for their lack of a dragon, especially given that they were almost surely taught that hatching a cradle egg is but one way for a Targaryen to have a dragon. Aemond felt lesser than his nephews due to the way Alicent was parenting him. She led him to believe that his nephews were bastards, that due to their blood they were beneath him, and this is what led to his inferiority complex. It makes more sense than the crock of shit the show runners decided to include in the show.
Rhaenyra and her sons were subjected to actual abuse and bigotry over the timeskip due to their gender and their blood, respectively. It very much makes me sick how they’re being treated by not only the show runners, but a decent portion of the audience as well. Bastardphobia is not cool or edgy. Looking down on someone because their parents weren’t married is vile. It falls into the same category as believing in blood supremacy. It’s 2024. Do better.
Jace and Luke will forever be Mama’s boys and are never beating the best brothers/sons allegations.
watching Feysands talk about "I'll never forgive Tamlin for killing Rhys's mom and sister and hanging their wings!"... did we read the same books?? Tamlin's father and older brothers (personally I believe coerced but let's not get too opinionated) got Tamlin to tell them where they'd be, killed them, and THEY hung up the wings. And also everyone seems to conveniently forget that Rhys and his dad then massacred the entire spring court high family (is that what they're called?) INCLUDING Tamlin's completely innocent mother. If we're gonna pin Rhys's mother and sister's deaths on Tamlin (who did not do it), lets pin Tamlin's mother's death on Rhys and his dad
Today is International Asexuality Day and I would like to say that I do headcanon Nigel as ace. I think it makes sense. However in his case it is very difficult for me to enjoy this headcanon because enemy of the state Gregory J Read decided to say that Nigel was asexual, but he used it in a very wrong way. In my opinion, it was his attempt to make him sound less gay or more inhuman-like and strange. Both wrong for different reasons. Him saying that Nigel wasn't interested in sex was like saying that he was above it, or to make him sound strange, like "asexual" what a weird thing to say about a person.
He didn't consider that being asexual actually meant something else or that it doesn't make you any less gay. (As if there's anything that could make that movie less gay anyway)
So, my Ace Nigel is very gay, he's weird about sex, less in a "I don't like sex" kind of way and more as in a "I only care about sex and enjoy it if there's something extremely off putting about it" kinda way. Which, in case you didn't know, is a very common ace experience.
He's also no less human because of it. And this is less about Nigel and more about how ignorant Greg has proven to be. He didn't "confirm" Ace Nigel simply because 1) I don't need him to confirm anything for me and 2) he had no idea what the hell he was talking about, he didn't know what asexuality is, so he didn't mean it like that.
louise and linda are SOO mom and kid in this scene. like louise being so excited to show her mom a new cool thing she just found and linda's kinda exaggerated surprised reactions like she's never seen water from a fridge before. their dynamic in this episode is literally the sweetest
Another demonstration against Femicide and barely any media attention
Activists denounce 900 femicides under Macron presidency in Paris protest
Mared Gwyn Jones Fri, February 9, 2024
French feminist group #NousToutes took to the streets of Paris on Thursday evening to honour the 900 women murdered in France since Emmanuel Macron came to power.
Holding signs saying "guilty state, justice accomplice," they denounced Macron for failing to protect women and girls from violence.
Some 900 candles representing every woman killed were lit near the city's iconic Eiffel tour, and a 15-metre-long banner with the names and ages of the women was displayed.
It included the names of the 20 women, aged between 16 and 75, the group say have been killed since the beginning of this year.
#NousToutes say the frighteningly high numbers highlight an "absence of real political will" from the French government to tackle gender-based violence.
"Since President Emmanuel Macron took office, more than 900 femicides have been recorded and more than 1,000 children have been orphaned," they said in a statement.
They also say that the "great cause" of Macron's five-year term is conspicuous in its absence.
In November 2017, months after taking office at the Élysée Palace, Macron declared that equality between men and women would become the "grand cause" of his term, vowing to prioritise the crackdown on violence against women.
But Macron sparked fierce condemnation in 2020, when he appointed Gérald Darmanin to the post of Minister of the Interior.
Darmanin at the time faced allegations of rape.
Macron came under further fire earlier this year when he defended French actor Gérard Depardieu's right to be presumed innocent after he was accused of sexual assault.
In a further blow to his "grand cause", Macron has been blasted for blocking the inclusion of rape as an EU-wide crime in new EU laws to fight violence against women.
"Nothing has changed since 2016 and the start of our count, we have been at the same rate for eight years, with a woman killed every three days by her partner or ex-partner," Julia, not her real name, told the AFP news agency on Thursday.
The group say their femicide count helps raise public awareness of the gravity of the problem and put pressure on Macron's government to take action.
Macron became France's President in May 2017 and is currently serving his second term.
