PLEASEE tell me ur opinions on season 2 And its finale

season two got WACKY!!!! Like season one was pretty standard ygo, powerful cards in danger, shadow group after them, etc. but season two really went into full blast with the ALIENS. I DID NOT EXPECT THE ALIENS.

I am ELATED that they let Jaden become besties with aliens it’s so funny. Jaden is the only one who kinda knows what’s going on at any given moment but he’s not thinking too hard about it so the rest of the cast just have to survive off of his horrible lore drops. “Oh yeah I went to space and met the dolphin I created 10 years ago (that Kaiba SHOT INTO SPACE TO TEACH ALIENS HOW TO DUEL) and we’re all besties now :)!”

Chazz and Jaden have this like. Clown to Clown psychic link as the only people who see card spirits and neither of them clarify this to the others I love it. Not that saying “my ojama yellow talks to me” would win any sanity points for Chazz but at least Jaden could theoretically corroborate his story 

Also really loved the “eveyones coming to live with Jaden arc”, immediately followed by the “Jaden gets lost in the fucking woods for a week” arc. They brought the monkey back!!!!!!

Also the Zane arc. Atticus come get your bf he’s acting up.

SO. THE SOCIETY OF LIGHT. REALLY love how light is used as the “bad guy” element, it def shakes things up in a fun way. The corrupting, blinding light of destruction… Ough it’s so good. They popped off with this one.

Gotta say again tho, I really was not expecting the aliens. Having one possessing sartorius was def a twist for me, I just thought he was like that LOL. It was really touching how him and Aster had a brief main character moment in the duel before the actual main character came in to steal the thunder. Considering they brought in the winged dragon of ra for a ONE TIME GUY OF THE WEEK CHARACTER I should of expected they’d go crazy with the finale.

Speaking of that card I really enjoyed seeing Chumley and Pegasus again. In the of ygo I loved the Pegasus parts because he was a very scary threat in his debut arcs. You can tell now that he’s still a shithead, but he’s no longer like. Dangerous anymore. Was super happy to see him duel again with his toon deck. I hope we get more returning characters in the future, I’d like to see Kaiba come check up on his horrible school for once.

But yeah. Season 2 was great!!!!! Lots of aliens. I don’t know how they’re going to top that on the “thing that happens” scale but ygo never disappoints in that endeavor. There was a lot of references by the aliens of Jaden being the one with the power to do all this but like. They never really elaborated on it other than he drew a dolphin once as a kid? Idk maybe they’ll get into some of that in s3.

i've rambled A Little before and i don't want to find those posts HOWEVER: to briefly revisit past thoughts i love sad stories that pull no punches and AS MUCH as i AM a card carrying resident of fort denial. i really appreciate how this is a story of so desperately trying to do good and put an end to great suffering and survive. and arguably even under the "best ending" (and unrelatedly but passionately: FUCK god home and the god seeker and ALSO. NEVER FORGET. CAN'T LEAVE HIM OUT SAY IT WITH ME: THE PALE KING) you do not get to do that. like. you start having already lost. there is no undoing it. there is no fixing it. you can only lose more, personally. in all endings other than the hardest, you EXCLUSIVELY make things worse (sorry hornet)! well yanno actually that's also arguable but. the POINT. is that it's a good old fashioned tragedy. about GRIEF and MISTAKES and FATAL PRIDE. and there is no fixing it!!! there is only letting it die and hoping that what comes next is better and worth it and good mostly just because it is at all. because it has to be. NOT FOR LIKE. not with any relation to Actual Theology just more in the lotr sense; their time has passed and the world can't survive them and they also very demonstrably can't really survive each other anymore either. the only ones left are unn and wl. and they both secluded themselves forever(?). idk i think a world that both outgrew and simultaneously became too small for its gods is. just really good food. that's such an interesting concept. it moved past and beyond them but that is still a loss. a world that HAD pk (and the Wyrm before him) and wl and radiance etc, where people could interact with them, where they could unilaterally shape the world around them according to their own whims and needs, how they could Fight each other if either of those things ever became competing.... ough. ALSO i will leave this train of thought in a moment but i do think it's insane how unn and the wl are the only gods to survive. unn ceded ground willingly at the beginning of all of this to wl which is tasty. and seems to have left the world willingly as well. and wl equally as tastily has taken refuge in ground she took from THE ONLY OTHER god still alive. which i do think is significant. and she is waiting there for everything to be over, not knowing what's happening or has happened. that it's already over. it's been over. and she'll always be waiting. there. alone. in a land she made her home far from what she built with pk but also didn't build herself at all. JUST TO BE "WORTHY" OF LIVING AND "ALLOWED" TO "LIVE". personally i would be like this shit is a scam. and give up probably. and i think they did. but THEY were in the basin, where (presumably) the void society came from. so instead of fading. they uh. didn't. instead of going back to the void. they remained. those little pieces pk tore off. and gave empty shells. and i went on a tangent but anyway i don't think ghost is Done Finis Gone after the final radi fight. i think the body pk gave was just too small. and limiting. and. cruel. and that after all that ghost was just too much its own person, and moved too much past what pk had wanted and intended for that body and that life, to be able to keep the shell after. growing so much. I KNOW THIS IS A LITTLE BIT OF A FORT DENIAL THEORY but i'm serious like fr. i also do think it's still tragic!! ftr!!!!! to not be able to keep living the life you used to be able to. to pass as something like everyone else was. to be small and met with friendliness and and sometimes even joy. to have the ease of the body your "parents" gave you, of existing like they did/wanted you to— maybe even to exist in the world the same way they can at all!!!!! that's a loss. getting big. and strong. being forced to grow so much to fix and Outgrow your shitty legacy. because you're the only one who can. right then and there. hypno and ambusher: might as well start with these to get them out of the way. started as coven expansion only but then got moved to classic so not sure if they count as coven or not but i’ll add them anyway since they were before. for hypno, i’d rate it a 6/10. can be very useful sometimes. i like hypno and personally find it fun. wonder if they fixed that one bug with it yet. ambusher i’d rate a 5/10. ambusher is fun but rlly dont like how the game SNITCHES on you to the other visitors smh >:(( snitches get stitches

pirate: 11/10. absolutely perfect. need i say more?

plaguebearer/pestilence: plaguebearer is super fun when you play it right. so, for this, i will rate it a 6.5/10. you have to be smart and big brain to figure out who to infect at the right moment, but once u become pest you can just fucking go wild. once i was pestilence and i killed everybody else who was alive within 1 night. (pirate wouldnt have died if they didnt pirate me. poor pirate)

juggernaut: I’VE NEVER BEEN JUGGERNAUT SOOO UHHHHHHH im going to have to ask a friend about this. give me one moment.

psychic: very fun. easier to fake claim than i thought but i dont fake claim psychic so. i’ll rate this a good ole 7/10. kinda boring tbh but i still enjoy it. just sitting there waiting for ur result instead of actually thinking. its great for me, a person who doesnt think about shit.

tracker: man tracker sure is huh. i like how it acts like a reverse lookout. good for finding evils sometimes. i feel like a tracker and a lookout could work together to find evils cuz sometimes multiple ppl can visit 1 person and a tracker wouldnt be able to kno that. 6/10

crusader: crusaders sure love killing each other in vip mode huh. 6/10 like the concept but i’ve seen too much crus-on-crus murder

trapper: i make too many bob the builder jokes with this role. 8/10
