3. Abby
Tumblr media
ID: A digital drawing of Abby from Minecraft Diaries. Her name is in all caps in the top right corner, with the series' title right below it in a different and smaller font. In the bottom right corner is her color palette. Abby has long light brown hair that covers one eye and drapes over her shoulders. She has pale skin. Her right arm ends at the elbow. She's wearing a light green dress that has a slightly darker layer beneath it, both layers opening into a slit in the front, a waistband in very dark green, and slightly lighter dark green knee-high boots. There is a sleeve from her elbow to just below her shoulder on her right arm. The dress has an off-the-shoulder sleeve on Abby's left. /End ID.
Fan Reference Masterpost
I'll be honest, I don't remember much about her beyond she's Jeffory's daughter and relied very much on the wiki in coming up with what her character is like.
I imagine this is post-escaping the Southeastern Wolf Tribe, she's been a guard for hire for a while now and hasn't come out of it unscathed. She wears green to honor her father, but unlike Jeffory who wore brighter green and white, she dons less saturated and darker greens while seeking to avenge her father.
Will I change some of those details when I actually get to that part of the series in my rewatch? Maybe, but who knows!

I love to think that the real reason the members of the jury have to renounce their family and their past isn't because of some oath they take, no it's because when they take the power of the jury they start to lose who they once were. They forget those that they used to hold dear because of the powers their jury form lends them. They don't intend to forget and it's not instant, it's slow and gradual. Overtime it'll just feel like a dream, becoming unsure if there was anyone ever there to begin with.
This theory very heavily ties back in with Katelyn, why after the Irene dimension she wasn't too quick to go searching for her family, because at that point she had forgotten who they were a long time ago. She's no longer a member of the jury, no longer influenced by this memory fog. But it still lingers, throughout her time with aphmau and laurance she starts to remember little things, she knows there were people, those who she cared about. But she can't remember their names, who they were, who they wanted to be. She remembers feelings. It's why when she talks about her family in the later season she's so inconsistent, because she doesn't remember and it bothers her that she might never remember

An idea I had last night: Jacob survives.
So, instead of the amulet just making everyone drop dead, we're going with the curse being a plague. (Thank you @irenes-journal for turning the plague amulet idea into what it is today.)
In canon, the amulet kills everyone save the person holding it, so the plague amulet would theoretically grant one person immunity, or at least resistance. How it grants some kind of immunity/resistance is by releasing antibodies for the plague, slowly at first to acclimatize the body a bit before it floods the system, and Jacob got some of the antibodies before he gave it to Aaron.
He was the first to fall ill, and he took twice as long to succumb to the illness than anyone else infected did. The town doctor died before Jacob did, so when he fell into a coma that looked a whole lot like death, he was mistaken for dead.
Lily was barely holding on herself at this point, and Aaron came back from burying the day's dead to find his wife and son dead in Jacob's room. Lily worshipped Menphia and some minor gods, being from Tu'la, and raised Jacob to do the same since Aaron's side of the family doesn't worship any recognized religion (Ultima stuff is for later), and there was a small tomb previously made for when Lily and her children died according to Tu'lan burial practices. Which gives Jacob some more time than he'd have in a grave to get out before he runs out of air.
Aaron goes on burying bodies and surveying the sick while he mourns his own family's loss. Jacob wakes up maybe a day or two later in the dark with what remains of Lily. Obviously, he freaks out, crying out for help, and no one comes. Fueled by adrenalin and fear, he manages to open the tomb door just enough for him to squeeze through, and he finds the streets covered in graves. He has no idea what's going on, no clue how long it's been, but he runs home and his dad's not there and all the streets he's run down are empty and stinking of rot. He needs his dad to not be dead, so he comes up with this idea that obviously Aaron thought he was dead like everyone else and left.
And so Jacob packs a bag and sets out to leave Falconclaw, and he leaves barely an hour before Aaron gets home. They just miss each other.
Jacob isn't well. He collapses on the road and wakes up in a merchant caravan bound for some village way North. He asks if any of them have seen his father, says he's the son of the Lord of Falconclaw, and one of the mercenaries hired to guard the caravan sees an opportunity. By the time the caravan reaches its destination, Aaron is already in O'khasis being groomed by Zane to become a Juror.
Jacob is snatched off the street by the same mercenaries who were guarding the caravan and sold to someone visiting from Tu'la, and he winds up a servant boy for one of the king's vassal clans. Maybe Nana's, maybe the one his mother escaped from. The plague left him incredibly scarred, so for a long time he's a faceless, bandaged figure in the shadows of the house, all this anger and frustration building up inside him at not being able to figure out a way home, until one day the master of the house thinks it'd be funny to match a servant boy against one of his soldier-apprentices.
And Jacob wins. No training, having thrown away his weapon and beaten the other boy with his bare hands until they were dripping in blood. He's sent to the gladiator pits, maybe the same ones Liochant grew up in, and as long as he has his anger he dominates. His contract is bought by some wealthy noble with a penchant for collecting pretty, broken things, and on the road he kills them and flees into the night.
By the time he gets back to O'khasis, Aaron's time on the Jury is over and he's disappeared completely, having forsaken his own name and become The Stranger. This is when Jacob finally hears about, finally confirms, the fall of Falconclaw. He goes to Zianna, waiting for her to be out in town before he approaches her. She and his mother considered themselves sisters, once, and Zianna had been an excellent spy in Tu'la, if anyone would help him it'd be her. All Zianna has to give him is rumors, but anything is better than nothing.
He takes it, he thanks her, he goes on the road trying to find his father, and gets waylaid a bunch on the way by saving people and taking out the mercenary company that sold him to that Tu'lan visitor and into years of servitude and gladiator rings. He had a number of names in Tu'la, but he goes back to the name from a lifetime ago, introducing himself everywhere he goes as Jacob Lycan, son of Aaron Lycan, last Lord of Falconclaw, in an effort to see if his father will be drawn to the man using his son's name. By the time he makes it all the way around to Phoenix Drop, it's the middle of the Irene Dimension time skip, and since no one knew who The Stranger was or ever really saw his face, they don't realize that that's exactly who Jacob is looking for.
He goes back to Falconclaw, thinking maybe he can find some clues where this all started. It's practically the same as he left it since everyone thinks the land is extremely cursed, and in looking through their home he finds books on the teaching of his father's faith. He fits his father's old clothes, his old faith. He takes whatever he cares to keep from the Lycan estate and visits Lily's tomb before he leaves, and not a day later he comes across Abby, who's taken to the road hoping to find a lead on the woman she believes killed her father, Lady Katelyn the Firefist, who disappeared without a trace years ago about the same time High Priest Zane Ro'Meave and a few other Jurors did. She and Jacob agree to help each other and become good friends, and eventually they round back to Phoenix Drop.
A week after Aaron died.
Jacob introduces Abby first, notes that the Lord, or maybe she's the Lord's mother, seems to know who Abby is, and then he introduces himself. As Jacob Lycan, son of Aaron Lycan, last Lord of Falconclaw. And the look on this Lord's face is indescribable. She asks to speak with Jacob alone.
She tells him about his father in the last part of his life. She tells him how he saved her several times, taught her to fight, saved her guards, those two over there. That one he sacrificed himself for just last week, when he saved the man from another realm and finally got vengeance for his family and village. How he once said that when his journey was done, when he had taken the life of the man who cursed them all, he would finally be at peace with his wife and son.
Then there's a child's cry, and suddenly Jacob is being introduced to two little girls who his father helped raise. To his sisters.
He can't even process it properly before he hears Abby scream, and suddenly he is running to pull her off a blue-haired woman and holding her, thrashing and spitting vitriol, yelling how she thought of Katelyn like her mother, as Katelyn explains what really happened that day, and everything Abby has been keeping inside her for years spills out in wave after wave of tears. She clings to Jacob, and he finds himself crying too. If only they had known the truth earlier.
If they'd only learned the truth earlier, Abby wouldn't have spent so long hating an innocent woman she once adored, and Jacob could have seen his father again. Maybe if he'd known Aaron was The Stranger, if he'd known to wait in Phoenix Drop, Aaron would be alive. He would have had his son to live for.
They can't make themselves stay there once they know the truth. They're not ready. Abby tells Katelyn she'll be back to catch up later, and Jacob tells the Lord he'd like to meet his sisters another time, and with Jacob's quest over they go to hunt the Jury of Nine for Jeffory Goldenheart.

@pumpkinprincess22 A gift for the both of us!!
"Where are we going?" Abby asked as Katelyn walked her out of the Golden Heart home.
"It's a surprise," Katelyn replied, holding her hand out. Abby happily took it, though she walked with such confidence to make it clear she didn't need to hold Katelyn’s hand to keep her steady anymore. She just liked to hold it.
"Is it for my birthday?!" Katelyn tried not to let it show. "Because I know dad wanted to celebrate my birthday, but he didn't tell me how!"
"That's because it's a surprise." Once they were off the property, Katelyn stopped and knelt down in front of Abby. She pulled a green piece of cloth from her pouch and held it out to Abby. "Now, I can either carry you there, or you can walk with this tied around your eyes."
"I don't need to be carried!" Abby snatched the bandana from her and tied it around her eyes. "I'm a big girl who can walk!"
"You sure are." Katelyn took her hand again and lead her through the streets of O'Khasis. They got weird looks as they walked, but she paid them no mind. Abby stumbled a few times, but she took on the challenge of walking blind the same way she took on every challenge. With an eagerness and gusto that made Katelyn envious of her endless energy.
Once they turned the street corner, she knew the surprise was ruined. She looked back to see as the scent of berry pie filled Abby's nose. Her smile widened and spread across her entire face, and despite Katelyn being the one who was leading her, she started to pull ahead. Katelyn could only laugh as she kept pace with Abby's near running to the bakery that was down the street. She pushed the door open just as Abby took off her blindfold.
"Surprise!!" Jeffory called out from within the bakery. Abby couldn't stop smiling, her eyes taking in the treat sitting at the main table, covered entirely in sweet cream, surrounded by all of her favorite dolls sitting around the table. The baker herself was tuning her violin but still waved an eager paw at the girl as she came running in.
"Happy Birthday, Abby!" Nana called out as she rested her violin on her shoulder again. Abby rushed straight for her table, nearly tackling Jeffory in a hug that lasted only seconds. That was all he needed, though. Was to see her smile. To see how happy this had made her.
"Thank you!!" Abby cried, pulling away from her father so she could sit next to him at the table. Just as she got comfortable, Nana put her bow to her strings and started playing a melody for her. As Jeffory cut into the cake, Abby danced around with her favorite dolls to the song, even dragging Katelyn into dancing with her, despite her insistence otherwise.
It was like a scene out of a dream. A day filled with joy and laughter, where, for a precious moment, Jeffory had his family. He may not have had his wife, but he knew she was watching and dancing along with her daughter. And even if his wife was not there, Katelyn was. She was the one who had helped Jeffory set this all up for her. She was putting in an effort to make sure Abby was loved, like a good mother would. Jeffory had a family again. For just a moment.

a round of MCD headcanons for my eventual rewrite project:
Laurance never regains his sight. His face is mauled with void burns from Ungrth tearing the boundary of the Nether and the Overworld. In fact, he can only see when in shadow knight form :)
Garroth x Laurance x Aphmau frfr
Werewolves actually don't exist. They are replaced with Lu'pines, the wolffolk, who cannot turn people and morph between a teue wolf and wolf-ish human (think mystreet werewolves, leona, etc).
I lied. There are werewolves. But they are not the lu'pine. They were led by the Ultima, a cursed man, but were all slaughtered by decree of the High Priest of O'khasis.
Only two survived. The red-eyed ultima and a lu'pine-werewolf who follows him whispering that their cause is just and that they are the perfect lifeform and the ultima should turn or slaughter everyone in their path. The ultima is not pleased.
Witches and warlocks are not a weird seperate species of people. It's a profession, some have immense talent, but it's not a birthright.
Aphmau, Garroth, Lucinda, Laurance, Travis, and Aaron are reincarnations of Irene, Esmund, Menphia, Kul'zak, Enki, and Shad. Aphmau is NOT Irene.
The Irene Dimension is actually limbo. That constant chiming is actually to keep those inside from losing themselves in the nothingness.
Aphamu's total love interests are Garroth, Laurance, Zoey, and Aaron. No one else.
Garroth and Laurance treat Dante like a son. He's only a couple years younger than the two and HATES this.
The process of becoming a shadow knight is essentially being maimed, killed, and injected with shadow knight blood. Once ressurected, the knight is essentially undead, bloodlusted, drawn to the Nether and Void, and briefly physically weak. During that period of weakness, initiates are often abused and beaten in any way the others see fit to "break them in."
Zenix and Vylad were taken prisoner by the shadow knights to transform. They were frnding off the knights to save a small village and let them escape. Vylad sacrificed himself as a chance for Zenix to get away, and he ended up tripping and getting captured anyway.
It tooks years for Katelyn to get over Jeffery's death. She went into the Irene dimension to protect Abby and was horrified to learn that Abby had to geow up without her. It haunts her to this day.
Hyria knew the moment Lucinda was born that she was Menphia's reincarnation. She taught Lucinda magic against her father's wishes because of this.
Laurance is a meif'wa. It's funny.
Laurance can speak wyvern. After Ungrth's passing, he speaks with Raven for a long time about the event. Raven joins the trio's cuddle pile that night.
Zoey loved Aphmau. Aphmau might have loved Zoey, too. But after she was trapped in the Irene dimension for so long, Zoey realized that her love had not only weakened her but was futile, she had maybe three years left to live. She gave up, dying of a broken heart a mere year after Aphmau returned.
One day is eight in the Nether. One day in the Irene dimension is one year in the Overworld.
Levin and Malachi are about ten at the beginning of season one, and around 14-15 at the end of it. The gang is trapped for 7 years this time.
The gang trapped is Aphmau, Garroth, Laurance, Zane, Katelyn, Travis, Lucinda
Zane might have actually loved Kiki if he stayed long enough. They had sex, it wasn't a weird pendant that made Kiki pregnant :/
Alina is Aphmau and Garroth's daughter. Lillith Garnet is hers and Laurance's. It shatters Shad Aaron that Irene Aphmau chose them over him. He succumbs to the latent destruction of his nature.
The Divine Warrior's poweful magical prowess has also cursed each of them. Shad became a werewolf, the Ultima. Irene would always lose her emotions, in each lifetime she lived. Esmund would be last to die, alone and hated, unable to keep his family safe. Enki would lose his sanity to the demon Micheal he had sealed away in his mind. Menphia would suffer the same curse as Shad for defending him, as the first vampire. Kul'zak would be blinded to the knowledge he thirsted for, each and every time.
In modern MyStreet, "werewolf" is synonymous with lu'pine. The Ultima is a myth. Something of note is that there are also rumors that a Maxima meif'wa would exist, with eyes of silver-blue.
Sasha claims shadow knights don't feel, but she lies. She still loves Kenmur. She still looks up to Candenza. She still sees Laurance as a goofy older brother. She pretends she doesn't.
Gene did do all those horrible things. He probably kissed Laurance at some point too.
Much more species diversity, lore and overall explaining. Currently, we've seen humans, lu'pines, meif'wa, wyverns, vampires, ghosts, and elves in the series proper.
Her name is Nana Ashida.

I do not have the time or really even desire to fully write this out but I have been rotating a Tommy MCD au where Buck starts at the 217 instead and Tommy is his Abby who stayed. They stick it out together and build something big, something that will last, move in and get married and happily ever after, until Tommy (who transferred to being a pilot after they tied the knot) goes down in a helicopter crash. No last minute miracles, no impossible saves. Just Buck, widowed at 32, the life he built abruptly over.
Meanwhile Eddie at the 118 met Tommy pretty soon after he came to the city in a veterans support group Bobby pointed him towards. He thought he was a great guy, they became good friends. He never really met the husband, but Tommy was really helpful when Eddie was starting to question his own sexuality, and between him and Hen it made the whole thing easier than it might have otherwise been. He’s really sad when he hears of his death, he hopes his husband is okay.
And then a few months later Buck shows up at the 118. Took awhile for him to scrape himself off the floor, and then he couldn’t face working with the team where he met Tommy, where they shared so many memories. But he doesn’t want to get away from his husband’s shadow completely, so he goes to the station Tommy worked at before, where some people are still there that knew him.
So a deeply sad Buck meets a deeply lonely Eddie (he didn’t have Buck, he didn’t have his best friend all this time) and, you know, sometimes you just click with somebody, and Eddie’s pretty quickly falling in love but he knows how bad it hurt when Shannon died and they were barely even in a relationship at that point, and he was Tommy’s friend it would be weird to make a move, and how could he ask Buck to start something with someone who could die on the job just as easily? But Buck is slowly healing even if it still hurts so impossibly bad and the 118 become a support system for him in a way the 217 weren’t necessarily, and he loves Christopher (he and Tommy were talking about having kids..) and maybe… maybe…..

Some characters in my rewrite are getting renamed and some unnamed characters are getting names! Here is a few of them
Nicole Von Ronsenburg - Nicole was born the eldest child of the Lord of Scaleswind. Her name when she was born was Nikola but she changed it when she ran away to a less Scaleswind sounding name to blend in further North.
Lord Von Ronsenburg - He never had a name in canon so he's named Alexander Von Ronsenburg now.
Nekoette Ashida - We don't have time to get into the many reasons I don't like the name Nekoette so let's just say I don't like it and move on. Her name is Reina now. I initially named her Rena after Lady Irene but then I changed it to a more Japanese name to fit with Nana.
Kawaii-Chan - This one is easy, changed her name from KC to her birth name from MyStreet because Nana Ashida fits the setting better.
Lady Irene - The religious figure's name is remembered as being Irene but her name as a person was actually Irena. Based on a random early S1 lore drop which was retconned but my ass went but what if it wasn't. In Scaleswind she is remembered as Irena, the person who saved their city. Throughout Ru'aun she is remembered as Irene, the Divine Warrior.
Abraham Goldwin - So he's not technically a character in MCD but he is important to my Zianna so he's important to me. Jeffory and Vylad's father, Zianna's ex-fiance. He is the person Abby is named after and the reason Jeffory and Abby use the surname 'Goldenheart'.
Shad and Irene's daughter - She doesn't have a name in canon but I am giving her one. She accidentally became my favourite character last night when I got a little too invested in her. Her name was Astra.
Finally and perhaps most importantly Aphmau herself - I decided I didn't really like her name so I changed it. Arja is a nickname of Irena in finish and it begins with an A. It's the perfect name for her.

mcd thing to yap about: what is katelyn like in ur rewrite?
I’ve actually written a BUNCH about my rewrite of Katelyn in a previous post (made before my rewrite tag existed), so check that out here first, I yapped a LOT there and most of it is still canon for BTL!Katelyn and I probably won’t change a lot of it. I would reword some of this to make it sound cooler but the concepts still remain pretty identical. The thing that’s received the most overhaul is simply how the magick system functions but that note wasn’t even in reference to Katelyn, it was in reference to Gene and the other viriseers, the subtype of magick that refers to something that violates the autonomy whether by body or mind & usually considered the most severe.
Ignore most things I say about Abby there in regards to magick, BUT I believe that I’ll still have her in Katelyn’s keep after Jeffory’s death because I find it really fun. Not for them though. I would remove the idea of Abby having magicks entirely and refine Katelyn’s magicks to be clearer. I think it’s a really interesting manifestation of her violence & destruction while in the Jury of Nine and if I sharpen that writing I could make it really awesome. I would also refine her relationships with Aph and Ivy respectively because while they’ve got interesting stuff going on I know I could make them cleaner, if that makes sense. But I think otherwise that previous post summarises most things I like to talk about with Katelyn - her upbringing, her relationships & some of the stuff she’s got going on. That hasn’t even broached future relationships with Travis yet though because I haven’t plotted nearly as much of Season 2 - Travis is her final relationship as I love the travlyn dynamic through and through, I’m just ambling my way through Arilean history & the season one timeline super slowly! Let me know if you wanted elaboration on any of that stuff specifically, I could probably find more things to say about all of the stuff in the OG post that makes it sound infinitely cooler.

MCD Headcanons:
-Laurance and garroth are 100% Malechi and Levins father figures
This isn’t even a HC imo but malechi is laurances adopted son and levin is garroths and that’s all there is to it honestly
- Travis is flirty completely by accident.
Due to his isolation from the village for their own safety, Travis had to find other ways to spend his time. Eventually, he started reading various books from his mother’s old collection as well as from various townspeople and the occasional abandoned ship. Most of these novels just so happened to be romance novels and as such he began to start speaking like the dialogue in the books he read. He obviously knew the townspeople didn’t speak like his books had, but they were the closest thing he had to an outside perspective given the cursed seas and the demon warlock kept him there. So it’s no surprise that he used the same flirtatious personality he had developed upon meeting both Aphmau and Laurance. Later along the line he just kept it up because it was funny to him. (Later season 2 goes against this and I’m well aware but I just try to think the best of Travis)
-the jury of the nine willingly surrender themselves to memory suppression magicks
In s2 ep34 Katelyn says “he wasn’t even supposed to keep his memory of Abby, but he did and look where that got him.” I’d like to think that this implies that most jury members allowed Zane to use memory suppression on them that also makes it so members aren’t emotional so that they aren’t vulnerable. Unlike most members Jeffory did not undergo this process as it’s not entirely mandatory but Zane likely strongly suggested it. However because he knew Abby would be utterly alone without him, Jeffory refused to allow his memories to be repressed. Other than Jeffory, all other jury members did undergo this process but it only lasts as long as they are a member of the jury. Hence why Katelyn slowly became more and more emotional post losing her position.
- Janus the Silver Death uses They/He pronouns
When Katelyn talks about Janus in season 2 episode 79 she fluctuates between they and he pronouns. There was a fluctuation between the two and I’m not sure if it was on purpose or not as like a writers choice, but it happened enough times for me to conclude that Janus uses They/He pronouns <3
-Katelyn and Ivy dated
In season 2 episode 91 ivy says “did you miss me love?” And while she says things like darling to anyone using specifically love stuck out?? Idk? But if they dated it was definitely for a short span and with a messy breakup that was likely caused by ivy taking things way too far. She also further added onto this behavior post breakup.
-Lo is the descendant of Kul’Zak or Menphia
I know Lucinda looks a lot like Menphia in a lot of ways, but honestly with Lo accompanying Aph to the Tu’Lah region and it all lining up the way it did it makes sense? Honestly though I don’t feel like he aligns with her title of the fury which is where kul’zak comes in. His title was that of the wanderer and honestly I could fully see Lo meeting that title, but that’s just about all I can say for him. Maybe there was more we never knew? Maybe his defense of his girls was representative of his “fury” but honestly it’s up for debate. I definitely believe he was tied to one of the relics though in some way shape or form.
Finished my MCD rewatch and heres everything I made HC’s for from season 1 to season 3 🎀
(I don’t make these often but I wanted to write these ones down)

MCD Scifi AU Game Quests! (Part 1)
Given how my scifi au is partially based on video games such as Mass Effect and Starbound (my beloved), I feel that it is only right to add quests and side quests. A way for me to write out the plot in a fun ways. (PLEASE LET ME KNOW YOUR OPINIONS AND IF YOU LIKE I'LL MAKE MORE!)
Main Quest - Molded to Perfection
The S.S. Phoenix Drop are now transporting top researchers of THE RED (otherwise known as the Shadow Knight infection) to what is believed to be its origin planet. Or, they thought they were escorting living researchers when in reality they are escorting the robot drones of Kenmur and Emmalyn, who are piloting them a galaxy away.
They have to protect these million of drones as they navigate the thick red mushroom jungle of planet NETH-35, also known as the Nether planet. This quest will feature the group killing mass amounts of Shadow Knights (The pitch black and blood red zombies) and mold chimeras (the hobbled together pieces of organisms) with few rests in ruins where it will reveal the history of the planet and the start of the infection. It will end with a boss fight of a SHADOW LORD aka a mega chimera. Classic alien boss battle.
Optional Side Quest - May Sparks Fly
After this quest, Kenmur and Emmalyn become semi permanent on the ship and their bots are now possible companions when needing to research. That being said, the crew finds out that they are rather smitten with each other and try to set up a virtual date between the two. it will also provide an exploration of Laurance's past as he and Kenmur grew up together.
Main Quest - Bionic Where Arth Thou
This is an overarching story plot that gets picked up throughout the story. Essentially, the S.S. Phoenix Drop is going to have constant back an forth between Zane and Garroth where Zane sends men to apprehend Garroth and is thus defeated. This will range from traps set by Zane under the pretense of delivery missions, false distress signals, and Zane's personal favorite, kidnapping random crew members.
In retaliation, the S.S. Pohenix Drop will also have plenty of missions involving breaking into various labs associatted with Shield Foundation (it will probably be renamed ngl) to halt Zanes plans of creating Shadow Husks (Zombie-Cyborg Mutants) and various acts of sabotage. This will have plenty of boss battles ranging from battles against Super Cyborg Husks, entire spaceships, members of Zanes special task force The Jury, and even Zane himself in super bionic suits and amped up holograms.
Mandatory Side Quest - Painful Jury Duty
The group receives a plea message coming from Jeffory the Golden Heart, a title he received due to his species golden blood. He requests the aid of Katelyn as his daughter has been kidnapped and he cannot help due to being under Zanes control. The team exports a rescue mission as we find out what its like to be under Zanes thumb from Katelyn. Who was literally mind controlled by Zane via cybernetic chips.
The team does manage to rescue Abby, only to find out that the entire thing is a trap laid by Zane and the Abby that they saved is actually a robot copy. Only to find out that Abby is safely somewhere else but Zane had broken down Jeffory and manipulated him into beliving his daughter is in danger and the only way to ensure her safety is to kill the S.S. Phoenix Drop crew and capture Garroth. Boss music plays and Katelyn manages to get through to Jeffory but its too late as the cybernetic corruption has destroyed his body and she has to mercy kill him through his golden heart. Well, mostly kill as he is revived and put into stasis.
Side Quest - The Golden Rules
After breaking a Zane lab and sifting through information, Zoey finds a way to heal Jeffory and reunite him with his daughter. The crew has to break into one of Zanes cloning labs and steal even more files and then restore one of his old labs (that they cleared out earlier) and use the available technology to heal Jeffory. He will be permanently missing his left arm and eye and no longer be able to have cybernetic implants due to the high increased chance of rejection, but he will be reunited with his daughter, Abby who thanks her Aunt Katelyn.
I needed to balance it out y'all.
