3 Sisters

Today was a best day of my life-. So many cool things have happened and a revelation was made. Something has enabled me to truly SEE. The world has COLOR and it always has.. But the distinction between GREY and COLOR is clear. I met another one like me. Now- a couple. Maybe always was; but now is seen. The image with this one is so clear that it has allowed me to truly ENJOY. The splendors of our material physical world are more than just touch and see- it's FILLED with emotion and LOVE. Today i was reminded about the JOY i felt with my sisters as a younger child. We were incredibly close, but father insisted i stop hanging out with them by the age of twelve for twisted reasons that one wishes no one would ever think. FAMILY is the most important unit in existence. I'm going to make up the lost time with them. So i threw a pow wow party.

A pow wow- a surprise gathering for us siblings- has almost never happened due to the parentals. But tonight they were gone, so i threw one: and they all joined! It was so fun. I bought a bunch of little finger foods and got people their favorite items. I was worried that i didnt know them enough. Then we played this game called something like 2 on 2 on the switch.

One of the games was about family traits- a game which you see who knows who the most- which showed me the truth. I nailed the "99% youre sure you got this answer" every round! I got every trait correct about all of them. I'm very observant but never realized that I have discovered who they are throughout our experiences. The feeling after words was sublime.

They all thanked me for throwing the pow wow. I never expect compliments from people but lately i have been getting more than usual. It does fill me with genuine joy that people think so well of me now. I just know that in the future if anything happens we will have this to look back on so that we know we will always be there for each other.

Lately I have been watching The Amazing Race, and there is usually the option to choose between doing one challenge or a different one. What’s really interesting though is seeing who chooses to keep working at something and who chooses to leave and try the other challenge and how almost every time the people who leave get ahead in the race.

This a a reminder to not fall victim to the sunk-cost fallacy. Just because you invested time and energy into something, does not mean you should indefinitely waste more time and energy on it, if you decide it’s not what you want anymore. This goes for anything, from books, to relationships, to jobs, to hobbies, etc.

If it’s not serving you anymore, move on.
