The AU you have where Vox is the vintage one and Alastor the modern one has been living in my head rent free. I can’t stop thinking about Vox being all bouncy and cartoony (definitely like you said, Roger Rabbit) and having very cartoon-esque physics and power base. Or Alastor still being radio but very much modern and staying ahead of the game. If you are willing and have any time to indulge me, I would love love love to hear more about your AU!!!
Hey! I'm happy you like this AU. I wish I had more time to explore or write a proper story for it since I have too many ideas for it. For this AU, Vox can upgrade himself to how he normally appears in the show but he honestly prefers staying like a cartoon demon since he thinks he is more powerful in that form. Like breaking the 4th wall and using cartoon logic to mess up hell's landscape/ other demons. When he does switch TV heads, because his retro TV got busted or needs to try a different attack, his powers will changed based on the type of media or how advanced the technology is. I keep thinking he secretly doesn't want Alastor to see him differently than his normal retro look since Vox knows how the Radio demon feels about technology. Since it sort of like a swap AU, Vox has two thralls, Valentino and Velvette instead of forming an alliance with them. He tricked Val into signing a contract with him when the moth demon was struggling with his porn studio or had problems with the shark mafia. While Velvette tried to confront Alastor and Vox to be the new overlord media but lost against Vox. He kept her around since she seemed useful and would call on her more than Val when it came to promoting his or Alastor's broadcasts. Vox still lets his thralls try to make their own business but constantly demands their assistance for random dangerous schemes. If the Vees oppose or try to avoid Vox, then he will control them like puppets with his inky cable wires. The Vees are up to date with hells society even using advanced technology thanks to Alastor, but because they are under contract their appearance remains the way they arrived to hell? Or like vintage animation style? Like Val’s appearance has 70s archie animation/comic style while Velvet's is more 80s lolita anime (kinda like Perfect Blue).  Meanwhile, Alastor still befriends Rosie who also has to catch up with the time. He often promotes her business since Rosie's cannibal town has become more like a meat/food factory. Rosie often repurposes any meat, scales, teeth, and angel feathers/blood to sell at her cannibal markets.
Husker stays as an overlord but owes a favor to the Media Overlords, and often plays host to them whenever they visit his casino. I was gonna make Niffty an overlord too but I haven't decided what type she would be or just be Alastor's assistant.
I kind of want Vox to help the Hazbin Hotel and Charlie (if I don't change her and the other hazbin residents roles too much). He wants to help the hotel because Vox's end game would be controlling them. Alastor only offers to help the hotel when Vox asks him to otherwise he doesn't bother to interact with the other residents or with Charlie since he has a podcast to run.
As for Vox and Alastor's relationship, they can be very professional in front of strangers/public while with associates/friends they get a little affectionate. They are on guard constantly and only trust each other since they are media demons. In private, they are very vulnerable and give each other a lot of aftercare. Or try to have a few mental breaks from upholding an image to the public. Like Vox has a whole-ass aftercare routine when Alastor is stressed and doesn't want to listen to demons due to his radio abilities. He even mutes himself and plays silent films while Alastor hides under a blanket with noise-cancelling headphones on. And when Vox destroys or needs to repair his TV head, Alastor always makes sure to have spare parts and tools on hand to assist him. He is used to repairing Vox and acting like a doctor for him.
They have been together for so long in hell, they lose their shit if the other overlord gets hurt or someone tries to take them away since in their eyes no one else compares.
And that's all I have folks!

Regis Philbin is a super retina display.
Regis Philbin is known for his video capabilities.
Regis Philbin is controlled by a smart speaker.
Regis Philbin is vibrant colors and darker blacks.
It is Thursday, November 30th. Regis Philbin wakes up and makes coffee. Another day starts, another year is coming to a close. Regis reads the newspaper on his digital screen, watched by ten trillion wide-lens eyeballs. The headlines coax him:
MILLENNIALS REQUIRE ABUNDANCE, GEN Z SAYS “WHY STOP THERE”
STARLET PROMISES TO PACK ON THE POUNDS
QUANTUM COMPUTERS GET SEXUAL
TOO TALL FOR THE N.B.A., THIS MAN WANTS TO DISRUPT PETS
Regis smiles through a sigh. He has seen it, he sees it, and he will see it. SZA’s people pass on the branded opportunity. Diplomats arm the oceans. Unilateral agreement on a new standard for data transmission, passed at midnight accords on the Friday before the longest weekend, portends a shift, a 25th hour in the day, which is what Regis focuses on, now (this very moment, the moment of awareness, past which there can be no return).
Regis Philbin has heart rate monitoring.
Regis Philbin is capturing images with a 24 megapixel sensor and a comfortable grip.
Regis Philbin is boasting a white-and-black design and an ultra-fast SSD.
Regis Philbin is noise-canceling and wireless.
The extra hour, Hour 25, slips past the clocks, the calendars, the hourglasses. Regis can, in a sense, understand this change. He appreciates it, like all transmissions of nature. “It’s intuition,” he explains to his mental health therapist, ordered by the courts. “I can feel it in my skeleton, in the bolts they put in me.” Joy cannot feel it, but she trusts her husband (the power of love).
Regis Philbin is a cordless vacuum cleaner with intelligent suction power adjustment.
Regis Philbin is a circular design and advanced health tracking.
Regis Philbin is stylish.
Regis Philbin demonstrates his photo capabilities.
Of course, this Hour 25 is a project of people you have never met, of Very High Net Worth individuals. What do the empowered, the lauded, the golden do with these secret minutes? This time that cannot be scheduled, this daily reprieve when all of them are immortal. “Death cannot occur during Hour 25” announces the True, Secret, Real President of Earth, from the center of the planet. Instead, this daily partition (which, we should explain, happens once daily, but is different every day, unplanned, and unpredictable) is used for creation. Larvae. Germination. Women and men drink. Mechanical processes, yielding returns, occupy anterooms. Or, alternately: it’s a great time to take a stroll around your skyscraper, city-state, plantation, airship, or arcology.
Regis Philbin has 16 million colors.
Regis Philbin promises tri-capsule technology.
Regis Philbin is an immersive virtual reality experience.
Regis Philbin is waterproof.
Regis Philbin is holding you by the shoulders. His face is undisturbed, but you note a hyper-reality about his eyes (beautiful, you can understand how handsome he must have been when he was at Notre Dame, a young man, a hero, a liar like all heroes, but that just makes us love him even more). Regis whispers something to you, and the words hang in your ears, terminate-but-stay-resident process, a radiant series of plosives, morphemes, all that good stuff. You hear the words (with your ears) and understand the words (with your brain) and enact the words (with your action points).
And now, at last, we come to the acceleration. Regis walks away, toward the hillside. A dog appears, fast from out the brush, trailing crayon shavings, and slows to follow. The rhythm, the cadence. Regis strides, shoulders back, the entire Varsity squad, a chestnut miracle. The band is rocking, the caverns are skanking. Stick to the script, burnish your credentials, account for slight variations in weather conditions, repudiate as quickly as you defend. You are a perfect representation. You are what Regis has always wanted. When you honor him, you honor your tenacity. You do not need the extra hour, is not what he said, not exactly, but rather the general “gist” of the monologue he whispered into your soaking ears. The tide does not care about the boats, even the large ones. And lastly, about you. Regis, half a football field away, turns, smiles, waves, and hollers. “I am not golden. And you will never be golden, either” Regis shouts, “But, be honest, folks: who needs gold except dukes and microprocessors?”
You agree with Regis, you agree and agree and agree, as he turns back, and walks, behind the hill, behind the day.

tell me all of ur invader zim headcanons or like aus or whatever u NEED to talk more
i do have an au i am working on, though i think ill make a separate post for that, right now ill just talk about headcanons!!
disclaimer that u dont have to agree with any of my headcanons, this is just how i see them personally, and there are times when i draw them older, but that's only really for aus or something
also, giving young kids sexualities isnt sexualizing, kids can know when they like boys or girls more, or both! <3
DIB
dib is about 14 when i draw him (probably like 13 and 9 months old, still a baba)
5'0 in height
mexican
he is autistic! his hyper-fixations are aliens, and cryptids in general, i would like to think he also fixates on technology, and building things
the headphones i draw him in are sensory headphones! theyre just noise cancelling but they help him a lot!
he is trans FtM, but since hes young hes just on hormone blockers and practices deep voices and stuff, which is why his voice is still high, but still masc (he/him)
in the show i know he does hack into things, but i like to think he also programs a lot! he makes a lot of stuff for his own use, like for his computer he made a program that helps him keep all his personal info on zim, it has a password and everything so no one tries stealing anything
he has anger issues, not major ones, but he does get mad a lot and easily, he usually calms down by napping or watching supernatural documentaries
he draws a lot more than you think! i know theres silly doodles across his room, but i like to think he has a binder full of all his drawings that arent on his walls or anything, hes a weird kid, so hed probably draw like zims gut anatomy or something
he tries playing the guitar, hes not the worst at it, he just cant play a full song without messing up at least once
he has paranoia, its hard for him to sleep usually, so that's why he's almost always tired, when he cant sleep he stays up trying to find more stuff on zim!
he prefers tea over coffee! while he does love coffee, i like to think he drinks tea more cause of prof membrane, and he doesn't complain about it, his favorite tea is black tea!
i like to think that he knows he's not straight but just doesn't know what he is, he says omni whenever someone asks, but he doesn't really know
he loves, and i mean LOVES gir so much that he gets kinda upset that he cant have his own sir(?) unit, i mean who doesnt
his briefcase is actually a case for his laptop that he just uses as a briefcase at times, sometimes his laptop is in there sometimes its not, depending on what he's set out to do
ZIM
when i draw zim, i personally see him around the age 14-15 (14 and 9 months at least) still a baba
4'11 in height
zim has adhd, though on irk its just seen as him having trouble in a lot of things, or just as a defect, it doesn't bring him down though!
though zim is young, he did go through invader training because of how irkens are made just to be weapons and/or invaders
he used to be a scientist for the irken empire, but quickly got excluded from being one due to messing around and messing up a lot of valuable equipment, the turtle neck was kept from being a scientist as a kind of punishment to "remember what he did" but he just thinks it looks cool
he was never given limb enhancers like the other invaders cause he isn't a real invader, so he thought hed make his own cause he though maybe they just forgot to give him some, it does have a bit more advances than the regular invader one, since they're not allowed to enhance or add onto their enhancers without given permission
zim cant eat many earth foods, but he also cant eat many irk foods, , not cause of allergies, but because of his sensory issues, its hard for him to eat in general (his safe food is waffles!!)
irkens dont have genders, mainly prefered pronouns in which zims are he/it
he made his own hearing aid cause of how much it was pushed off on irk, no one really believed that irkens can be born with defects like that unless their antennas are damaged (only his right antenna is mostly deaf)
he sees gir as his little brother more than he sees him as a sir unit, he doesn't know the term brother, but knows he cares more about gir than anything else even if he finds him annoying
he forgets things, a LOT, in the comic i think its funny how fast he forgets things or pushes things aside, but i like to think he just, actually forgets that fast, even if he tries to remember it
like dib, he doesnt really know his sexuality, mostly cause of how irkens don't have genders, or don't really have the concept of genders in their head, so he just also thinks he's omni, with a masc pref
i like to think he has more of a over bite, but when he's not paying attention he sometimes puts his bottom row of teeth over his lips, just as a little fidget, or just does it while biting the skin off his lips (if irkens have lips?? idk probably not visible ones)
he is still growing, height wise, but when he's older his hight wont be the tallest, probably a few inches or so
GAZ
gaz is 11 and a half (11 and 6 months) she is also, a baba
5'0 in height, suck it zim
mexican
she has adhd as well, fixated on games and pigs
her safe food is pizza!! she loves eating it with her dad and dib, they just like being able to spend time with all of them even if she messes with dib a lot
she likes cryptids to a degree, also isn't as obsessed as dib is, just thinks that only SOMETIMES they're interesting
she tells dibs to make hacks for her in games, and even tells him to make games or addons for games, she usually plays the games dib makes for like a day and then never again
along with the guitar, she can play the drums! she likes playing them while dibs trying to sleep or nap
she is a lesbian and a demigirl! (she/they)
they have a lot of stuff for stress reliving in her room, like a punching bag and a LOT of pillows to punch, she sometimes puts a picture of dibs face on the punching bag, but its not as good as the real thing
she doesnt hate dib, she wont mind if he holds her hand while they walked home or hugged her from time to time, she just likes tormenting him cause its funny
she prefers coffee over tea, which is why they have coffee at their house, she prefers it over tea but would still drink tea if they had some, plus prof membrane basically makes them drink it at times, she prefers her coffee black, but wont mind it being super sweet either
the necklace that her dad gave her actually has a tracker in it incase she ever gets lost, they never get lost cause they're mostly at home, but just incase
she thinks zim is interesting, they think its interesting how he is and how it even got to earth, but she cant be bothered to find out, all she knows is that he's annoying
gaz is sort of blind, they have hyperopia (far-sighted) she does have glasses but only uses them if they really need to, she doesnt wanna look like a nerd like dib
she usually cuts her hair by themself, mostly cause of how when they go get it cut they usually give her a bob instead of what they wanted
probably prefers punk, goth, and emo over scene, but still admires others who can pull it off
has a little case for their game slave! its like a little bag, shes always sure to have it on themself so shes never bored
GIR
gir has no real age mostly cause of how hes a robot, but i like to think theyre always seen as a child, 8 years old to be exact
gir is autistic coded!
3'5 in height
they have no gender as well, obviously, but do have "preferred" pronouns (it usually gets called by it/they/he)
he really does care about zim and his mission, it just has a lot of trouble focusing on it, or functioning right, since theyre literally made of garbage
his sir unit build is the same as mimis (taks sir), but just defected with misprints and messed up parts, thats why he has prints in the same place as mimi, just messed up
adding onto that, he doesnt have the same big arm as mimi on his left, both his arms are from the builds that regular invaders have
a lot of his parts float, his arms can still extend and move freely, its just that they float , there is a sertain extent where if they go too far they just detach or recoil back to the body, they only detach if zim needs to fix anything on gir
a lot of his body can be detached, almost every single part, he can either still be sentient while they do, or be turned off
zim actually made girs disguise, like handmade, so it has different shades of green scattered around on it, its obviously fake, but people fall for it
the blue color on him changes depending on how he feels, usually its just other shades of blue (ex. dark blue for sad, bright blue for happy/excited, a little duller blue for neutral, you get it) , but when he actually takes orders is when he turns a different color (red)
a lot of the foods he eats can actually turn into fuel for him, depends on what it is, if its chips, soda, slushies, donuts, or any foods that would be on irk as well, will most likely be transferred into energy for him, if its foods like pizza, tacos, or just anything thats specific to earth, it will most likely get jammed into his system, to where zim has to clean almost all the time
a lot of his system is messed up, but zim fixed it up a bit, he doesnt know what causes gir to be crazy and silly and just the way he is, but he feels like it wont feel right if gir was just a normal sir unit
ill probably come back to this to add or fix some stuff if i ever feel the need to, but for now these are all the headcanons i have for them!! these are either adding onto or just new ones that werent on the refs i made for them, so yeah!! again this is just how i see them, you dont have to agree or anything

Gotta say as a very audio sensitive person I really love the idea of a character who wears noise cancelling headphones all the time. I know that it likely wasn’t the intention/purpose of that trait but it just makes me smile
That actually is part of the reason in its own way, I'm glad you picked up on that! As barren as it is of life, the River Styx makes a lot of noise, so Charon has found ways to filter and block it out. It started with ear plugs, ear muffs, etc. and now that the gods have advanced into more modern day technology, it allows him access to earbuds which double as noise cancelling aids AND a source of entertainment for those long trips up and down the river.
(howdy from this pal who also has auditory sensitivities, earbuds are my best friend ❤️)

Understanding Misophonia: A Comprehensive Guide to Treatment and Management
Misophonia is a neurological condition where certain sounds trigger intense emotional and physiological responses, such as anxiety, anger, and panic. Individuals with this issue experience significant distress in response to specific trigger sounds, impacting their daily functioning and quality of life.
Traditional Approaches to Treating Misophonia:
Traditional misophonia treatments have focused on cognitive-behavioural therapy, sound therapy, and exposure therapy to desensitize individuals to trigger sounds. These methods aim to reframe emotional responses and reduce the impact of trigger sounds.
Introducing Noise Cancelling Headphones: How Do They Work?
Noise-cancelling headphones use advanced technology to reduce or block out ambient sounds, providing individuals with a controlled auditory environment. These headphones utilize active noise control to produce anti-noise signals, effectively mitigating the impact of trigger sounds.
The Benefits for Misophonia Treatment:
Noise-cancelling headphones offer individuals with misophonia relief from trigger sounds, creating a sense of calm and reducing emotional distress. The ability to control one's auditory environment can significantly improve daily functioning and mental well-being.
Finding the Right Headphones for You: Factors to Consider:
When selecting headphones, factors such as sound quality, comfort, battery life, and customization options should be considered. Finding the right fit is essential for effectively managing trigger sounds.
Tips for Using Noise Cancelling Headphones Effectively in Misophonia Treatment:
Utilizing noise-cancelling headphones effectively involves creating a personalized sound environment, using them proactively in trigger situations, and integrating them into daily routines to minimize exposure to distressing sounds.
The Role of a Hearing Clinic:
Hearing clinics play a crucial role in assessing and managing misophonia, providing diagnostic evaluations, customized counselling, and recommendations for personalized treatment approaches, including the use of noise-cancelling headphones.
How to Find a Hearing Clinic Near You: Factors to Consider:
When seeking a hearing clinic for misophonia evaluation and treatment, factors such as expertise in auditory disorders, patient-centred care, and access to advanced diagnostic and treatment options should be considered.
Other Treatment Options to Explore:
In addition to noise-cancelling headphones and traditional therapies, other treatment options, such as mindfulness techniques, relaxation strategies, and environmental modifications, can complement misophonia management and enhance overall well-being.
Conclusion:
Misophonia presents unique challenges for individuals, impacting their daily lives and mental health. By understanding the condition, exploring innovative solutions like noise-cancelling headphones, and seeking professional guidance from hearing clinics, individuals can effectively manage misophonia, reduce emotional distress, and regain control over their auditory experiences.

How to run your digital agency from anywhere in the world
Imagine if you could merge work and pleasure, spending your afternoons basking in the sunshine or exploring a new city. You feel happy that business is taken care of and that you can relax and enjoy your surroundings stress-free.
Well, imagine no longer.
In this article, I’ll share tips from 10+ years of experience in doing just that. My mission is to illustrate that such a lifestyle isn’t merely a far-fetched dream but an attainable reality, one that can be tailored to suit you.
Whether that means sneaking in an extra holiday each year, spending a few months traveling Asia, or even relocating to a different country, it’s all possible.
For the last 16 years, I have owned and run a small digital marketing agency. During that time, I have traveled extensively, rarely took time off from work completely (don’t judge – I love it that way!), made the permanent move to Spain and managed a pretty successful business worldwide.
Learn how to run your business from anywhere in the world. The secret is how you manage your workspace, time, boundaries, team and technology.
1. Plan your workspace
To make your travel and work arrangements smoother, start by researching the availability of internet services and power reliability in the country you’re visiting. Knowing the circumstances upfront will help you plan better.
If you intend to work from your accommodation, designate a specific space as your dedicated desk. Avoid makeshift setups on furniture or using the kitchen counter, as these can become problematic. Packing and unpacking your desk each time you need to use the dining table is also inconvenient.
Consider a co-working space, but check their operating hours to ensure they align with your work schedule. Conduct thorough research before your trip to make informed decisions.
2. Manage your time
Optimize your productivity by leveraging different time zones. If you can work while your clients sleep, you’ll accomplish more. Consider adopting the “5 a.m. club” mindset.
Create a schedule that combines overlapping working hours with dedicated uninterrupted time for deep work or batched tasks. This allows for focused work without distractions while still having time for meetings, calls, and team communication.
Maintain discipline to step away from work and enjoy your surroundings. The goal is to work fewer hours overall, so maximizing your efficiency is crucial.
Utilize techniques like task batching and time blocking to stay focused and avoid task-switching.
Pre-complete and schedule tasks like social media posting, blogging, and email newsletters if your travels are short-term.
Get the daily newsletter search marketers rely on.
3. Set your boundaries
When traveling with family or in a distracting environment, noise-canceling headphones are essential. Playing music while you work can help block distractions and signal that you shouldn't be interrupted.
Communicate clearly with your travel companions that during work hours, you're focused and interruptions should be limited to emergencies. Likewise, when you're not working, dedicate your time fully to them. Strict adherence to these boundaries is vital.
Establish boundaries with your clients as well. As long as you can communicate and deliver work, most clients won't mind your physical location.
Consider adding a note to your email signature before traveling, informing recipients that your working hours may vary and you may not respond immediately.
Alternatively, specify specific times for email responses. Stick to the schedule consistently. This allows clients and colleagues to adapt to your communication patterns in advance, allowing you to address any issues before your trip.
4. Empower your team to take the reins
You'll be pleasantly surprised by how much your team can handle without your constant input. It may be challenging for business owners to let go completely, but you and your team will adapt to your absence during an extended period away.
This allows you to focus on essential tasks that require your attention while empowering your team to take on more responsibility without constant approval-seeking.
Maintaining open communication channels is crucial for remote work. Schedule regular team meetings – at least twice a week – to discuss work-related matters concisely and bond with your team.
Despite not having informal chats, showing genuine interest in your team members fosters honest and open relationships.
Encourage the team to have discussions without your involvement for minor day-to-day issues. If you don't have a team, consider hiring a freelancer to handle basic administrative tasks and manage client communications while traveling.
Clearly define their responsibilities, create standard operating procedures (SOPs) in advance, and bring them in at least two weeks before your departure.
Even if they work only a few hours daily, having someone there can greatly ease your mental load. You might even find it difficult to let them go once you return.
5. Choose the right tech
For most travel situations, pack essentials like your laptop, noise-canceling headphones (highly recommended!), adapters, mobile phones, and chargers.
If you anticipate limited WiFi access, consider bringing a universal WiFi dongle. In case you can't connect online, don't panic. Things will likely run smoothly without you, and you'll regain connectivity soon.
Ensure your files are stored in the cloud rather than solely on your laptop to avoid potential stress from loss, damage, or theft.
Keep a paper copy of important phone numbers, your passport, visas, ID cards, and travel insurance. Use a waterproof folder and separate them from your laptop and phone whenever possible.
Additionally, store copies of important documents on your phone, password-protected for security.
Don't forget to pack spare chargers and adapters for your tech, as they can break unexpectedly during travel.
Make the most out of your experience
The main goal is to enjoy the country you're visiting, as that's the reason for your travel. Immerse yourself in the culture, try local cuisine, and explore and interact with locals. Working abroad for three months but seeing little beyond a hotel room would be unfortunate.
Consider starting work early and finishing at lunchtime to have the rest of the day for leisure. This provides an uninterrupted time when clients and team members are typically unavailable. Feeling confident that everything can wait until the next day contributes to a more relaxed mindset.
Designate a team member to contact you only for important matters, such as a significant drop in a client's website traffic. Knowing they will reach out only for urgent issues allows you to leave your temporary office.
To stay present in the moment, consider using a cheaper phone while out exploring and leaving your work phone at your accommodation. It may take some adjustment, but it helps prevent constant email refreshing and allows you to engage in your activities fully. Choose the approach that suits your personality best.
If taking an extended trip makes you nervous, start with shorter school holidays and gradually extend them until you feel comfortable being away for longer periods.
Lastly, try not to worry about your clients' perceptions. As someone who lives abroad, most of my client interactions occur remotely. Clients have become accustomed to it and sometimes even envy the lifestyle.

In true Dork fashion, I got into an argument with one of my partners about the Universal Translator and xeno-gender. Rants under the cut.
I was explaining to him about the like, 0.01% of people who saw the excerpt from my writing where Kirk asks two six-dimensional creatures their pronouns, one that looks like an hourglass with no other visible features, and the other that looks like some kind of sea worm, and people online were like, "this is an anachronism!"
He replied, "yeah, honestly, having them ask pronouns makes no sense in Star Trek."
And I said to him, "in the context, knowing nothing about their culture, how would you know? How would you know if they have gender, or what the genders are? What social cues would you even look for?"
And he says to me, "the universal translator is the ultimate scripton. In TOS, they never said how it worked. In TNG, the pin they wear translates things directly from their brainwaves."
To which I replied:
Tumblr media
Also, if it's brainwaves, why won't it translate French?
The UT comparing brainwaves assumes that other species have brains like ours. They could have hive minds like ants or bees, or they could be intelligent individuals who think with nearly their entire body. And are you telling me that the ship's computer is telepathic?
You do realize that a sentient species similar to an octopus isn't far fetched AT ALL, right? They have 9 'brains' which are spread throughout their body. Where they light up when thinking about sex may be wholly different that what lights up for a human.
Assuming similar brainwaves, you thinking about your concept of femaleness, and the UT shunting through the concept of "she" isn't going to protect you from stepping in it if the person is actually a "he."
Also, why would you assume that every culture has a he or she?
Ants have three genders: queen, worker, and drone. You might argue that works are female, but they cannot become a queen, nor can a queen become a worker, once they are fully developed. They are phenotypically distinct. And how are we to know, if we ran into such a species, how they would think of themselves? Would you automatically know in advance without talking to them? For all you know, their pronouns aren't based on gender at all, but rather upon what job they do in the colony. How would the UT and its hypothetical mind-reading abilities help you to know this without talking to them?
There would be untranslatable pronouns, and you'd have to learn them. Just like the UT doesn't spit out "sword" when a Klingon says the word "bat'leth," or "popcorn" when they're talking about gagh, even though "tasty-finger-food-snack" brainwaves occurs when humans think of popcorn and Klingons think about gagh.
What makes sense is that the U.T. works off of both algorithms and libraries, and that if you meet a new species, you may have to sit in orbit and let your computer absorb a lot of their transmissions before you can go down there and have a conversation.
What makes sense is that people have implants (like the Ferengi do in DS9), and that they somehow do noise cancelling.
Honestly 100% of those Prime Directive stories where humans get modified to blend in, and then use the UT, and no one notices a lip-syncing issue are absolute hogwash.
So yeah, UT is a scripton. A technology with no basis so that we don't have to deal with translation. Even so, I don't know how it would wave away the issue of how to politely address someone without first ascertaining how they think of themself.

what kind of commercial would each micaclan cat star in?
Mudpaw is in one of those tupperware commercials where there's the "before" section in greyscale where the people open their cabinets and are swamped by a tidal wave of loose tupperware
Wrentail is in a car commercial, but specifically the kind that are like "come on down to Greg's Bodyshop for Great Deals this holiday season" and they're yelling the whole time for no reason and are unnecessarily aggressive in their sales tactics
Larkstar is in a completely silent ad with the product's description and price and a number to call displayed for about 30 seconds and then ending. she features in a still image to the side, using the featured product to demonstrate its use.
Foxjaw is also in a car commercial, but it's for a specific brand and it advertises itself as a very safe family car and has that tiny white text at the bottom saying that everything was filmed on a closed course
Owlpounce is in one of those commercials for tissues that advertises that they won't hurt your nose when you use a lot of them because of their special soft formula that soothes itchy noses or something
Whitepaw is in a commercial for a stain remover that is aiming at pet owners' love for their dogs/cats/hamsters/whatever as a selling point
Hawkpaw is doing one of those ads where she's selling a weird kitchen product that may or may not work but by golly do you wanna try it out for yourself (think of those commercials by that Vince Offer guy)
Puddlepaw is in an ad for running shoes that is short but to the point, with all the relevant information relayed quickly
Robinsong would be in a commercial for non-stick copper pans that advertises having "advanced technology" but they're really just. copper plated pans.
Gullytuft stars in a movie trailer for a dark and gritty retelling of a classic story, with a very dramatic soundtrack and hard-to-see visuals because the trailer is quite literally very dark
Sandleap is in a commercial for a nintendo game that's specifically aimed at kids yet somehow misses the mark and is too kiddy to appeal to the right age demographic
Laureltail stars in an ad for a clothing line that looks a bit odd and is definitely not functional for everyday use, yet is inexplicably appealing
Embertooth is in a commercial for an extremely over-priced gaming headset with fancy noise-canceling technology that takes itself too seriously
Pearfur is in one of those ads for software aimed at high school/college students to help them with their writing/grammar for essays and emails
Snaptail stars in one of those late night infomercials where it's extremely unclear what they're selling and it goes on and on and on and on and
Birchspeckle is in a commercial for an over the counter drug that has an incredibly long list of horrifying side effects and ends with "ask your doctor if Dextrophlybin is right for you" with uplifting music in the background
