nazareth 18
kika nazareth x f!influencer!reader
when your millions of followers discover who your longtime girlfriend is
a whirlwind of light, a beacon on tiktok with over ten million followers hanging onto your every post, you were known for being so bright.
your content with beauty tutorials, travel vlogs, and that genuine, humble charm has made you… somewhat known to most people.
your face, glowing under golden-hour light or bright in casual settings, is synonymous with aspiration. yet, despite the fame, you’ve kept a piece of yourself private, tucked away from the prying eyes of fans and algorithms.
no one knows you’re in love.
no one knows you’re in love with a woman.
no one knows it’s kika nazareth, the portuguese stargirl at barcelona.
it started in barcelona, nearly two years ago. a mutual friend introduced you during a night out. kika, then ten months into being with the city’s club, was magnetic. the girl’s laugh is warm, her eyes bright with a quiet confidence, and her smile pulled you in.
you were struck by her ease to say the least. it’s the way she carried herself like she belonged everywhere and nowhere all at once.
“you’re the girl from tiktok, right?” she teased the first time you’ve met, her accent curling softly around the words.
you laughed, nodding, and said, “and you’re the footballer, right?”
it was light, playful.
over time, that undeniable spark grew. texts turned into late-night calls and coffee meetups became weekend getaways. you’d fly into barcelona between brand deals, and kika would sneak away from bonding with the team to steal moments with you instead.
when she tore her ankle ligaments, requiring surgery and months of recovery, you were there. you’d sit with her in her apartment, her leg propped up, and you’d talk about everything. for kika, the way the world felt too big and too small all at once, but you made it bearable.
“i don’t know how i’d do this without you,” she’d whisper, her hand finding yours.
you’d squeeze back, heart full, and say, “you don’t have to.”
now, almost a year into your relationship, you’re careful. your followers know you love barcelona since you’re always in the city somehow. you’ve posted about it enough, from selfies at the stadium to beachside vlogs.
still, they don’t know about kika. not yet at least.
you and kika have talked about it, about how to share your love with a world that’s both adoring and invasive.
“we’ll do it our way,” kika says one night, her head resting on your shoulder as you lie on her couch.
“slowly and softly, i hope.” you nod, tracing circles on her palm.
“wait– wouldn’t that be a soft launch?” you murmur, and she laughs kissing your cheek, “yes, exactly.”
the first hint to your fans comes by accident.
it’s a champions league group stage match, barcelona versus ajax. you’re in the stands, cheering, your face painted with the club’s colors. you’re not hiding since you’ve always been a fan, but cameras catch you and social media does the rest.
clips of you clapping, smiling, singing the anthem spread like wildfire.
“y/n is at a barcelona game again,” one post reads, “she’s basically part of the team.”
however, someone notices something.
they notice the way you linger near the tunnel, the way you wave at someone on the pitch. speculation begins.
“i know she is at the women's game but she seems very close with players on both the mens and womens team? is she dating someone?” a fan asks.
“gotta be,” another replies, “she’s too invested.”
you lean into it, just a little.
a few days later, you post an instagram picture.

it’s you, standing on a barcelona street at golden hour wearing the black away kit. the breeze catches your hair, making it dance, and the kit’s sleek lines stand out against the soft light.
you’re turned slightly away from the camera, casual in blue levi’s, but the vibe is effortless, magnetic.
the caption is simple with “gold” and within hours, the post has hundred thousand likes. from the mens team, ferran likes it. lamine likes it. pedri likes it.
the comments explode.
“y/n and ferran??”
“lamine’s got a crush, i’m calling it!”
“pedri would be cute for her tho!”
you see the speculation during a tiktok livestream at home at nighttime once, your phone propped up as you do a quick q&a. a comment pops up: “are you dating pedri or ferran? spill the tea!”
you laugh, shaking your head.
“guys, no,” you say with your voice light but firm, “not them. not anyone on the men’s team. let’s chill with the rumors.”
the chat goes wild, but you don’t elaborate. kika, watching from her apartment, texts you a heart-eyes emoji.
kika:
you’re cute when you’re dodging
y/n:
just wait.
you and kika plan the next step carefully. the champions league group stage match against arsenal is the moment. at first, you were doubtful but kika assured you that she is okay with everything.
you’re in the stands again, this time wearing the home kit, the number 18 and “nazareth” emblazoned on the back. you’re not subtle, but you’re not overt either…you’re just you, cheering for your girlfriend.
during the game, a fan snaps a photo of you talking to salma, who sits beside you since she is sidelined with an injury. you’re turned around from the fan’s camera, the “nazareth 18” clear as day.
the image hits x and instagram like a tidal wave.
“y/n’s wearing kika’s kit???”
“wait, is she…?”
the game ends with a 3-0 win, kika scoring a stunner in the second half. the crowd screamed, and you’re on your feet, screaming her name. after the whistle, kika jogs to the stands, her smile wide and unguarded.
you lean over the railing, reaching down, and she stretches up to hug you. it’s quick but electric, her arms tight around you, your hands cupping her face for a split second.
“you’re my hero,” you whisper, and she laughs, her eyes sparkling.
“and you’re mine,” she whispers back. cameras catch it all, and the internet loses its mind.
by morning, your social media is a storm.
“y/n and kika nazareth are dating???” a tiktok with a full discussion blows up. they’ve been stitching together clips of your interactions: kika liking your posts, you commenting heart emojis on her posts, a blurry photo of you two at a café last summer.
“how did we miss this?”
“they’ve been soft-launching for months, and we thought they were just friends.”
“y/n as a wag is everything,”
“and a woman’s wag? iconic.”
you and kika sit on her balcony that night. she’s in a hoodie, her hair loose, and you’re wrapped in a blanket, your phone buzzing endlessly.
“not like i would’ve cared anyways, but they’re happy for us,” you say, scrolling through comments.
“they’re freaking out, but they’re happy.”
kika pulls you closer, her lips brushing your temple.
“good,” she says softly, “because i’m happy. i want them to know how much i love you.” your heart skips, and you turn to kiss her, slow and sweet.
“i love you too,” you murmur against her lips.
“always.”
you hear footsteps come out towards the balcony, the light door opening as you look up to see vicky looking down at y’all, “get a room.”
“oh, i forgot you were here.”
you joke, everyone laughing as vicky sits down beside on the bench.
a week later, and people are not over it. tiktok edits of your hug after the arsenal match are everywhere, set to popular tracks with heart emojis flooding the comments. your followers, once clueless, now scour your old content for crumbs of your relationship, and they’re finding plenty.
there’s a fleeting glance in a vlog, kika’s laugh in the background of a story. you’re still the beauty and travel influencer they adore, but now you’re also a footballers girlfriend, and they’re obsessed with the shift.
you’re in your barcelona apartment, the one you’ve been staying in more often since kika’s recovery. it’s a cozy space, with sun streaming through the windows, casting warm patches on the hardwood floor.
you’ve set up your phone on a tripod in the living room for a casual tiktok livestream. you’re in a loose sweater, hair tucked behind your ears, chatting with your followers about your latest skincare routine as per usual.
the vibe is relaxed, your voice soft and easy as you read comments.
“yes, i’m still using that olehenriksen serum,” you say, laughing at a fan’s question.
“i'm not even sponsored but it is so good, i highly recommend.” the live has been going for about twenty minutes, with almost 29,000 people tuned in, their comments scrolling fast.
you’re mid-sentence, answering a question about your favorite travel destination, when kika’s voice floats in from the kitchen.
“babe, come try this!” she calls, her accent warm and lilting.
you glance toward the sound, a smile tugging at your lips.
she’s been in there for the past hour, clattering pots and humming to herself, determined to perfect a recipe her mom sent her…a portuguese caldo verde, she said, though she’s been tweaking it with her own spin.
you hold up a finger to the camera.
“one sec, guys, kika’s cooking something,” you say, your tone bright. the chat explodes with heart eyes and “kika!!!” comments.
kika appears in the doorway, a wooden spoon in one hand, her dark hair pulled into a messy bun. she’s in a barcelona hoodie, sleeves pushed up, and there’s a smudge of flour on her cheek that makes her look impossibly endearing.
“come on, it’s almost ready,” she says, beckoning you with a grin. she steps into the frame, unaware of the thousands watching, and holds out the spoon, a small pool of steaming broth glistening on it.
“taste,” she urges, blowing gently on the spoon to cool it down. her eyes are bright, focused on you.
you lean forward, letting her guide the spoon to your lips. the broth is warm, savory, with a hint of something smoky and rich. your eyes widen, and your jaw drops as the flavor hits you.
“wait, hold on!! that’s so delicious,” you say, your voice rising with genuine surprise. you grab her wrist, keeping the spoon close as you take another tiny sip.
“hold on, what is this?” you’re already standing, following her toward the kitchen like a kid chasing a treat.
kika laughs, glancing back at you with a playful roll of her eyes.
you’ve completely forgotten about the livestream. your phone, still propped up, captures the empty couch for a moment before the comments start bursting through.
“did she just leave???”
“kika’s cooking for her omg”
“this is so cute i’m dying.”
the kitchen is just out of frame, but your voices carry through the phone as you talk.
“okay, so what’s in this?” you ask, leaning against the counter. you can’t see kika’s face from the phone’s angle, but her voice is animated.
“potatoes, kale, some chorizo for the kick to it,” she says, “and i added a little smoked paprika because, you know, i’m extra.”
you laugh, the sound bright and unguarded.
“i feel like you’re always extra, sweetheart,” you say, the name slipping out naturally.
kika’s laugh is softer, closer, like she’s stepped toward you.
“shut up!! you love it,” she teases, and you can hear the smile in her voice.
“i do,” you admit, your tone so fond it’s almost tangible. there’s a clink of a pot lid, then kika’s voice again.
“okay, try this one now…it’s got more garlic.” you make a dramatic “ooh” sound, and she giggles.
“don’t mock me, this is serious business,” she says, but she’s laughing too. the livestream audience is eating it up, the chat a blur of “SWEETHEART???” and “they’re so in love” come in rapidly.
you’re in the kitchen for a good five minutes, tasting, joking, bantering. kika tells you about the time her brother tried to make the same soup and ended up with something “like dishwater,” and you’re wheezing, clutching her arm as you laugh.
you don’t realize how much time has passed until you glance at the clock and gasp.
“oh no, my phone!” you say, suddenly remembering.
kika raises an eyebrow.
“what, you’re still live?” she asks, and you nod, already jogging back to the living room.
you grab the phone, and your eyes widen at the screen since 17,000 people are still watching, the chat moving so fast it’s a blur.
“oh my god, guys, i forgot i was live,” you say, laughing as you sit back on the couch. your cheeks are flushed, partly from the kitchen warmth, partly from the realization that your entire love-soaked exchange was broadcasted.
kika follows, leaning over the back of the couch, her chin resting on her folded arms.
she’s still holding the spoon, and she waves it at the camera with a grin.
“hola!!!” she says, her voice playful.
you turn to kika, mock-exasperated.
“i left you guys for, like, ten minutes, and you’re still here?” you say to the camera, but your smile betrays you. kika laughs, reaching over to ruffle your hair.
“they’re a bunch of barca fans who are here for me, obviously,” she teases, and you swat her hand away, giggling.
“rude,” you say, but you’re leaning into her touch, your shoulder brushing hers.
you glance at the chat, catching a comment, the sweetheart moment was everything.
you groan, covering your face with your hands, “oh noooo you guys heard that?” you ask, peeking through your fingers.
kika just laughs again, loud and unselfconscious, and wraps an arm around your shoulders.
“guys please clip that, so she can’t deny the simp allegations,” she says, her voice warm against your ear.
you groan again, but you’re smiling, your head resting against her.
“whateverrr,” you say, softer now, and the chat fills with hearts.
the livestream ends a few minutes later, but not before kika makes a few jokes and reminds your chat to watch the next upcoming women’s clasico on friday.
you laugh, happy that your life has brought you to this point.

WHOSE RESERVATION? ♪ a tutorial on how a mixup with names can land you a possible date
“How in the world do you confuse my name with Ajax for god’s sake?”
“How in the world-? Are you seventy?”
Ajax couldn’t help the laugh that slipped past his lips, overloaded with amusement and irritation that thrummed within his gut. He waved off your sputters, focusing upon the hostess again, “Listen, lady. Is there any way you can slide missy over here in another time slot? I have someone to meet for dinner, and I’m late as it is.”
“I’m sure they’ll be fine without a headache for a few more minutes.” You scoffed at him, scoffed. Offense took form on his face, although most of it was exaggerated, that comment hurt his poor soul.
“Oh? I have to meet a business to discuss investments, whom is expecting you?” You looked like you didn’t believe him. You probably didn’t believe him.
“Someone important as well.” No elaboration, you turned to the hostess. “You seriously cannot find another time slot him today? No openings?”
“For me?” Give him a bring, “I’ll have you know, I got here before you.” You scowled as he jabbed a finger in the direction of your chest. Slapping at his hand, he withdrew it back to your satisfaction.
With a huff you gave him a pointed look, “Well I scheduled my reservation before you.”
“Excuse me”, the hostess’ tense voice reached the both of you, her fingers tapping restlessly, “But I’m afraid that if you two cannot reach a decision soon, you both will have to leave. You’re causing discord and other people are waiting.”
His eyes flickered to your own, a flush creeping up the base of his neck at the intensity within your own. You motioned to the hostess with your eyes, daring him to say something that would surely lead to another middle-school argument.
Ajax groaned aloud, throwing up a hand in a sign of forgoing his spot (which he unquestionably reserved and paid for), “Have fun meeting your important…partner, or whatever.”
Your face lit up as if you had won the lottery, smiling at him tightly as if in a taunt, “That you Mister Business Man, you’re so generous.”
Whatever. At least he could blame you, or better yet the hostess, when asked why he missed a meeting. Not his fault, totally would go over smoothly.
“Hey.”
With a glance back, he scrunched his brows together questionably at your call, “If you meet me back here in a week, I can pay the reservation fee that you, y’know paid for nothing.”
Oh. Well, it was better than hearing anything mocking coming from your mouth. He gave a small smile, his lips barely upturning but you seemed to take it anyway. Waving him off as he mumbled a goodbye, as if you could even hear it within the four feet of distance now between your persons.
He hoped you did.
HOT, HOT, HOT! ♪ mess up turned into a meet up?
In Lyney’s absolute defense, he was not completely in fault for bumping into you.
Freminet had been awfully fussy that day. From screaming in a tantrum because he had drunken the last of his favorite juice the night before, begging (but more akin to demanding) both Lyney and his twin go to the store at the prime time of seven thirty in the morning to go get him some. They did, only for him to throw down the juice box on the floor of Lyney’s car because “it was too late for it”.
Lynette had promised him that if he were to breathe and try to calm down, she and Lyney would take him to the local coffeehouse and get a treat. He could then drink his juice for dinner as per the norm. The small blond only nodded with enthusiasm.
So when their order number was called, Lyney grasped all three items – some cinnamon coffee cake that Lynette said she was going to share with Freminet, the chai latte which just had to be iced resided in his left hand also belonged to her; Lyney had only ordered an americano last minute, not wanting to end up thirsty on the drive back home – with care as he tired to return to his table quickly.
Tired, key word: tried.
He wasn’t sure if it was his lack of care of his surroundings because he did not want Freminet to start screeching in a public setting again, or if he was being careless once more. Lyney’s hand had tapped (more as in knocked) completely against your arm as he passed by,
Your gasp was so sharp that it hurts his own lungs, backing up instinctively as most if not all of his drink tumbled down to the floor. The chatter within the coffeehouse fell into murmurs as he could feel stares pierce into his back.
“I am, so sorry.” Lyney shoved the rest of his order onto a nearby table, swiping up the napkins which resided on it and practically thrusting them in your face. That coat looked expensive, too, good god he hoped you weren’t pompous.
With a steaming amount of embarrassment, Lyney was offered a replacement as another worker took care of his mess upon the floor. He had said sorry to your face too many times to keep track of, you simply waved them off.
You were mad about the coat, though. Very, in fact. He had never seen someone grieve a physical piece of clothing but today was a first for everything apparently.
“Here”, he held out ‘payment’ for the coat, stating that you could use it to either try to replace it or clean it if you wished. You snorted, stating that your drink – which you also had spilled, however you didn’t dump its contents on his person – was more expensive than your off-brand coat. A simple purchase that you bought for its looks.
“Don’t think that you’re off the hook. You still owe me a drink.” You pushed away his money-filled hand, slinging your now dried coat over your arm, “Next week?”
He couldn’t help me laugh. Lyney assured you that it was a promise.
WRONG PAINTS? ♪ a silver-haired stranger is good at art talk
“I still think oil paints would look better on it.”
“You are out of your mind.”
Phainon let out a breathy chuckle, adjusting the strap of his bag upon his shoulder. His eyes never left the painting hanging center of the wall within the art museum. A new piece made by someone anonymous, it was titled ‘Feeling of View’. Whomever painted it should’ve considered ‘Feeling of An Eyesore’ instead.
“Think about it”, he looked at you briefly from the corner of his eye, “Watercolor would give it more of an eye feeling. More unfocused yet distinct enough to tell what was painted. Oil just seems like you’re painting a…a photo.”
Phainon pursed his lips, considering your words (that weren’t going to change his own opinion, much to your dismay). “Hey, don’t throw off people with photo-like eyesight.”
“What?”
“What.”
He felt your shoes knock into the side of his converse with abundant force, “I’m serious. When you think of eyesight, you think of focus, do you not? You’re not going to see everything in complete focus all at once unless your field of view is like, beyond human.” You made a good point. “That’s a horrible point.”
With a huff of lighthearted annoyance you shrugged offhandedly, “Is it going to be like this every time we meet each other in this exhibit?”
“Do you want us to keep meeting in this exhibit?”
You blinked, clearly not expecting a questioning quip from him that fast. It’s not like it was the most awkward thing said between the two of you, the painting’s paint choice had been in discussion for at least twenty minutes by now.
And it would not top how he mixed up acrylics with oils while trying to start conversation in an art museum.
“If you want.”
Phainon couldn’t help but smile, beaming as he rocked on his heels. You already knew his answer, still, he couldn’t help but nod eagerly in return, “It’s a date.”

Where Danger Finds Me, it Follows with Tides - 1
Plot: Egyptian reader finds themselves yearning for the attention of Wednesday
Thrown into War ch1
Word count: 2k
Warnings: blood, bit of violence

After a grueling week of listening to the groaning spewing out of a loud werewolf’s mouth and the sounds of boxes being unpacked, broken down, then thrown out from across the shared dorm, Wednesday was finally able to get some sort of thought down on her typewriter.
This was the week before a new prison sentence that was covered up by a ‘fun’ thing called education, but last year was more of a thrill than any of her other school years. Getting kidnapped, fighting evil forces, beating up an ex-teacher, sending an ex to jail, and learning to be more affectionate to people she cared about—the thought made Wednesday’s zygomaticus major muscle twitch. Quickly brushing it off, Wednesday had one more hour before her sentence started. The schedule wasn’t too different from last year's, but the people were. Wednesday was involuntarily filled with facts about who was in her new classes there, statuses, drama, and abilities by none other than Enid.
Wednesday had gotten everything ready for herself; now it was time to get this beast across from her to cooperate. The black-haired girl could wake her roommate up in the most abrupt way possible, but that was mostly the last thing Enid needed right now. The wolf’s growling and grinding in her deep sleep were more intense than usual; clearly, she was on edge. Wednesday hadn’t had a clue how to wake someone up in a thoughtful way, so the second best choice was her second favorite right hand.
The extra hand in the room crawled and climbed its way up to Enid, and started to shake the girl gently. A low, loud groan bounced off the ancient walls, and as a result, Thing rattled her harder.
"AM I LATE?" Enid threw herself forward, as did Thing.
"No, you’re actually early, for once," the stoic voice replied.
"But you have less than 40 minutes to get ready."
And with that, the 40-minute race began. Enid was able to get ready and look good in 35 minutes and 5 seconds, almost bumping her third record down. They were able to use the extra 4 minutes and 55 seconds to get down to the quad to be the first to get breakfast. After the bell rang, people started rolling in. The only people the pair cared about were Yoko, Divina, Kent, Ajax, Eugene, and Bianca.
"I’m not ready for this at all; I couldn’t sleep at all last night. I know I did this last year, but I’m just not ready." Kent rambled out his anxieties.
"I know! I think I’m just excited about the new kids and teachers; I want to see who they replaced for Ms. Thornhill." Ajax continued the flow of conversation.
"Wasn’t her name Laura or something along those lines?" Bianca questioned.
"Laurel" Wednesday corrected
"Right, right, Wednesday you have fencing for first period right?" Bianca asked the goth girl, and she nodded in return.
"I sure hope you learned how to beat me during the break" Bianca chuckled.
"Believe me, I have."
"You guys have fencing together again?! Dang it! I loved seeing you guys argue about who should have gotten the point!" Yoko complained.
"Divina and I have them; I’ll make sure to fill you in," Enid commented to console the vampire.
Wednesday rolled her eyes and removed herself from the table to put her tray away; in doing so, the bell rang for the first period. The four with fencing walked in a group to the studio. Classic coach Vlad was there to greet the aspiring fighters again.
"Welcome back, you four. I'm glad to see you back again. If you want a refresher on how to battle, I will be setting up a tutorial for the new students; if not, get your gear on and go do practice matches." The coach shared.
Bianca nudged Wednesday jokingly, the shorter girl grumbled and continued to walk to her black uniform and mask that were placed during prep week. They all quickly changed and started matches as the coach reprimanded the newbies for their stances. The doors opened for a latecomer.. History repeats itself. That snarky grin flashed the room, the Ra’s eye marking on your right eye was as gold as the morning sun, and the scent of euphoric blue lotus followed when you walked past people.
"Vlad! Nice to see you again!" You called out while continuing to walk closer. Arms lifted up above your head for emphasis.
If Bianca were a werewolf, her ear would have twitched. She was so out of focus that Wednesday scored a point on her, yet she didn’t care; she just focused on that voice across the room. Wednesday stared at her, confused.
"Y/n… Don’t you have to be working somewhere?" The older man inquired.
"Yeah, about that, after Weems got hurt from the poisoning, the board wanted a background check on the admin here. A 16-year-old was definitely not someone they wanted working as staff; I guess they didn’t like my records. But! I still have perks; I just have to be an actual student, which is useless for me." You Informed.
"Thank you for saving Weems again. I’m guessing you’re my student then."
"Hey, what’s a scorpion for?" but yes, sir, I am!" You said it excitedly.
"I saw your old mask on the rack; it must have slipped my mind," Vlad mumbled.
Bianca continued to listen, she took off her mask to get a better look at who was speaking. Wednesday assessed the siren's facial features, which showed clear indications of fear, panic, and nervousness. Wednesday worried slightly for her friend, who was this person who had her opponent more scared than when she threatened Bianca? As if it were on queue you looked over to the pair for a split second, then to the equipment rack, eyes landing on the two. You walked past them with haste to get changed, Bianca was definitely on edge when they started up again; she could barely even get into the proper stance.
Once you changed, you planted yourself on the bench between the coach and the pair fighting, watching like an animal looking for its next prey. You mumbled something to Vlad, and Bianca was thrown off again. Of course, you noticed.
"Bianca I can feel and smell the fear off you, geez!" You yelled across the room.
"What the hell are you doing here?! Don’t you have to be scrubbing the halls?" Bianca snapped, throwing her mask on the ground and practically jogging towards you.
"I’m a student now." Returning the attitude
"Hurry up and duel that Addams kid," you commanded.
How did you know Wednesday's name?" the raven-haired girl questioned privately. Surely you’ve never met each other; clearly, you have tension with Bianca, so her friends wouldn’t have talked to you. Who are you?
"I’m not going to listen to you, L/N. Clearly, you lost your status." Bianca huffed up
Vlad has now stepped in "Ms. Barclay, it won’t hurt to do one duel, plus I want to see you two's improvement."
"Thank you, coach," you gleamed.
Bianca grumbled and went back to her spot, picking up the mask as well. The two got back into their stances. Bianca seemed more professional, dead set on winning, but a part of her was still nervous. Wednesday and Bianca bowed and were off, continuing to parry and attempt blows at each other until she could strike out Wednesday. Each. Consecutive. Time. It irked the raven girl. Drawing her out of thought, you spoke.
"Addams. Duel me."
"What?! I beat her each time, though! Duel me!" Bianca cried out
"You’re not focused on her at all; I don’t want to fight someone who has no thought of trying to improve." Your voice was gloomy and almost sounded bored with the conversation.
"I have! You haven’t been here to know that!" She protested
"If you improved, you would have seen me try and beat me."
Bianca shut her mouth, moved over to the bench, and practically threw herself down. You finally got up and put on that custom mask of yours, it had a small streak of red going down the right eye area. Wednesday studied everything she could about you, once you were face-to-face with her, she could finally get the height of you and your physique. She had to look up to look you dead in the eyes.
"I like you. You’re focused, and you try to understand everything you can before launching yourself into a battle. I like it, that’s why I wish to fight you." You smiled down at her.
Before she could say anything, you got into placement and waited for her to do so. Once she got into her comfortable stance, the raven girl gathered information on your stance; clearly, you know what you’re doing. After the bow of respect, you two slowly approached each other, Wednesday attempted a strike, but was completely shut down with ease.
Interesting
You threw out a lazy strike, even that almost hit her. She tried two quick blows, but again, she shut down. What confused her was the fact that your block almost seemed to be there before she could even perform the move.
Could you read minds?
No, this doesn’t look like it, she’s seen mind readers, and this isn’t it. But that stupid smile was plastered on your face; it messed with her nerves a bit.
The pace quickens, and you shoot somewhat lazy shots. She strikes fast, just to be shot down again and again, It felt like hours, but really it was less than 2 minutes. Finally, you put what seems to be your all into this. The speed quickened, as did the eyes watching you two. She almost couldn’t keep up, this was too fast for her. You’re making the raven sweat. An opening for you, you shot like a snake.. no like a scorpion? Round one was finished, and you took the lead.
"Point for L/n!" Vlad exclaimed.
"Whatcha thinking, Addams?" You questioned.
"I want," she hesitated, "no mask, no tips. First blood." A Wednesday classic
"Deal!" You were excited— something realistic. Throwing off the mask, that stupid smile was still on your face.
Wednesday and you fixed your blades and got back to bowing, then the stance, and you were off. The pace picked up from where it had dropped, she was able to keep up more now, so much so that she was able to hit you in the stomach. She was more hopeful now, but she was so hopeful that she completely forgot about the deal she set. First blood. Leave herself open. You went for her jugular, leaving a perfect cut that dripped down a small streak of red on her neck.
"Point L/n." The coach yelled out.
"Y'know, Addams, I had padding on there, realistically, if we’re in an actual duel out at random, I wouldn’t have padding on." You explained.
"Take it off then." She quickly blurted
"Hm. Alright then!"
With haste, you quickly took off the top padding. This was very much illegal in the rule book, but who cares? This was getting interesting, and Wednesday followed suit. There was your school's white button-up under it. Once you got situated, the deal was still on, and the regular steps occurred. The two of you were faster than before, but it was fast for you to land a blow just on her chest. She completely paused, and blood leaked right above where her heartbeat was. A rapid flow of blood stained the button-up; her heartbeat was racing; she was definitely overworked, but this was different, she enjoyed this duel, of course, not the loss but this. Wednesday couldn’t explain why it was frustrating her.
"You’re terrific Wednesday. I hope I can duel you later again, but I must go." You explained.
Picking up your stuff and putting it back into its respectable spots, Wednesday watched a little confused as you left abruptly. She looked around for a second, watching everyone go back to practicing. The raven-haired girl went to check on her cuts, but they were completely gone—not a stain, not a scar, just a tiny hole in her shirt.
Huh?

Superstar
Request: hey girl can u please make a smut or a fan fic abt amir Richardson he is so fine and theres literally nothing abt him on the internet yet😭 tyy
Warnings: none
“She’s super nice, man! What’s the worst that could happen?”
“Super nice and way out of my league! Fucking look at her, dude!” Amir whisper-shouts as the group all take it in turns to take a glance at you in your friend group.
It was a tough pill to swallow but Amir had a point. At 13 he had expected to have finally started showing his dad’s genes: a growth spurt that he felt he very much needed. He was the son of a star basketball player yet one of the smallest in the grade and he hated it. The thing he hated most was the fact that he stood no chance with you. There was no way in hell you would even spare him a glance so he supposed he just had to wallow in his misery.
Basketball certainly wasn’t an option for him so he looked to other options. You once again worm your way into his mind and he remembers something. one of his few interactions with you.
“Oh hey you left your phone!” He calls out as you’re about to walk away. It was the end of the day and the last thing you needed was to let your phone hang around overnight and lose it.
As he picks it up, he gets to glance at your lockscreen and he’s intrigued. Number 22: Ziyech. He didn’t take you for a football fam but he sure as hell welcomed it. Of course you were cool like that.
He doesn’t have much time to think it over before you turn around and he can feel his heart in his throat at the sight of you. He’s fighting the urge to run away from you because the way you made him feel just wasn’t normal. Oh god you were smiling at him. Think, Amir! Think!
“Thank you so much! I bet I wouldn’t have seen it again if it stayed overnight!” You joke. You couldn’t help but take some enjoyment in his nervous giggles. He really was such a sweetheart but you didn’t want to scare him off. He was shy enough as it was so you thought it would be best to leave him be.
“Sooooo… Hakim Ziyech?”
“He’s not Messi but he’ll always be my favourite ever!” You gush, forgetting that you had to get going and continuing to elaborate on your love for the Ajax star. He listened to every word with a smile because he loved seeing you so engrossed and passionate.
Amir treasured that memory with everything he had. His first of very few interactions with you. He’d somehow managed to keep up with you to the extent where he was getting almost as excited about it as you were. With every question he could see your eyes brighten up, your smile grew wider and you got a little bit louder.
And that was that. He would try his luck at football. He gathered from your conversations with him that height wasn’t an important factor at all for the attacking positions. Sometimes even the opposite was true. Even his friends were hyping him up for it: he was physically fit enough, quick, a good decision-maker. He may have needed a little work on the ball but he would get there.
He spent hours on the internet looking for tutorials on the simple stuff, getting his friends to help him out and his parents gladly got him everything he needed. His dad supposed that if basketball wasn’t the path, some other sport would have to do.
When he got his chance to try out, he was a little bit messy; made some mistakes but he thought he’d done okay overall. And indeed he did: a place on his school team. Sure, it was as a 3rd choice midfielder but he supposed it would have to do for now.
Although when he had told you about it, he may have omitted the 3rd choice part. On complete accident of course. So when the day of his first match does roll around, he’s a little nervous to say the least.
It gets to the week before and you’re of course buzzing more than he is.
“This is so exciting! You’re going to become a superstar, I just know it!” you exclaimed, jumping up and down and he could only smile.
“I don’t know about that…” he scratches the back of his head, looking around awkwardly and you furrow your eyebrows.
“Come on! You never know who’s around the corner in these things. They have to get them from somewhere, no?”
“Yeah like Brazil and England maybe! Why would they even think of looking in the land of ‘soccer’ ?!”
“It’s a huge talent pool! You gotta have a little faith and even then, I have more than enough for the both of us!” you bounce up and down on your toes and all he can do is smile. He’s been in love with you for longer than he can remember and here you are at one of his matches, buzzing with excitement at the idea of supporting HIM. How had he managed this one?
Warming up wasn’t much of a priority for him today since he wasn't even expecting to be on the field. So he’d spent a good amount of time simply searching for you on the bleachers. When he finally finds you among the crowd, you’re too busy talking to your friends to notice so he’s happy to just keep his eyes on you. He’s nowhere near as chatty as he usually is and the lack of snarky comments thrown in their way has his friends confused so they all take a second to see where he’s looking and of course they spot you.
“Damn did you invite her?!”
“She would have probably come anyway” he defends but to no avail.
“Nah man, respectfully I don’t think this is the kind of soccer she’s into, you know?”
They all nod in agreement and all Amir can do is desperately avoid any eye contact. Yes, he had invited you here but he didn’t need to be fed delusions about what it meant.
“Damn bro, I thought you said she was out of your league…” his friend nudges him while the rest snicker. All out of love and relief of course. They’d watch their friend fawn over you for too long so seeing things finally move forward was a huge deal to all of them.
They can’t help but tease him further, all frantically waving and yelling in your general direction while Amir scrambles to stop them. But alas it's already too late and you’re gazing down at the group, eyes specifically on Amir as you smile and wave. He wasn’t nervous before, not like he was playing anyway, but now… he felt like he had to do something. Make you proud. You had given him the idea to try football after all. You had all this faith in him.
He wasn’t feeling anything like this before. The bench was comfortable but he only grew more antsy as the minutes ticked on. Did he seriously invite you here to watch him twiddle his thumbs? Embarrassing.
But with some perfect timing, he sees his coach beckon him over. His teammates push him off the bench when he takes a little too long to react and against all odds, he’s going on. His 45 minutes to shine. His eyes blur as he runs into position and forgets to look up for you but you’re visibly ecstatic. Your own friends are teasing you for how fond you were over him.
He was nervous beyond anything he could express but he did everything he could to channel that into his game. It felt like a make-or-break in more ways than one, that was for sure.
It was like a dream. It felt so easy, almost too easy. It was as if… no. He was doing well. And he simply couldn’t believe it. The minutes flew by and he only got more and more confident. He couldn’t even bring himself to care when his teammates were wasting his chances. Because at the end of the day, they were still HIS chances. 5 of them on his debut + some solid dribbles and tackles wasn’t bad at all.
Sure, they had lost. And by a slightly embarrassing margin but all he really cared about was that HE had done well. He had to have impressed you and that was the only thing that was on his mind as he searched for you, finally being able to find you as you made your way over to him.
He could care less about his friends snickering and hollering as he made his own way over, marching towards you as quickly as he could without going into a full-on sprint. Although he was tempted.
He knew you were going to be proud of him but he certainly didn’t expect you to throw yourself at him for a hug. Nearly knocked him off his feet but he manages to recover quickly enough and wrap his arms around you lightly.
“I knew you could do it, see! You were amazing out there!” oh god his heart was back to being in his throat so he has to choke out his next words.
“I mean it’s only my first game, could be a purple patch for all we know…” you detach yourself from the hug too soon for his liking.
“Absolutely not, you’re gonna go big soon I just know it!”
He thinks back to your words quite regularly. You couldn’t have had any idea at the time just how right you were. You sounded so delusional back then, like you were just telling him what he wanted to hear.
But years on, he’s finally reached that growth spurt that he had been praying for all the time ago and he has an agent negotiating with multiple clubs for him. And the best part of it all was that you were still by his side, seeing the fruits of your delusions coming alive. Not a hint of surprise on your end, you were always so sure of him.
Perhaps the only downside was that in spite of his newfound confidence, he was still stuck in that friendship stage with you. He had gained a lot more *attention* over the years but he still only had eyes for you. You still made him so fucking nervous but he had gotten better at composing himself. He had even gotten a little flirty, now being the one to make you all nervous and blushy. And he revelled in every second of it.
“I have something for you!” he reveals as he catches up with you in the corridor. He’s clutching his jersey in his hands.
“Isn’t that going to be a little big on me?” you tease, still taking it from his hands as he rolls his eyes.
“Oh please! You would look amazing in anything, especially one of my jerseys.” he says matter-of-factly and you can only blush.
“You should wear it to my match on Sunday!” you narrow your eyes to challenge him before he elaborates.
“Pleeeeeeeeaaaaaase! It’ll be all the moral support I need. All you have to do is sit pretty!” He tries to bargain but he knows that you would always be there to support him no matter what. He would drop everything to do the same for you as well.
The interaction doesn’t happen too far away from his friends' lockers and they’re all eager to know whether he’s finally made a solid move.
“Just making sure she’s coming on Sunday! You can calm down!” Amir rolls his eyes, refusing to make eye contact with anyone as he pretends to go through his locker.
“Is that your jersey in her hand?”
“Yeah I mean she is my best friend, totally normal stuff.”
“Well it would be if you still weren’t madly in love with her. Dude, it's been 4 years. She liked you when you were 5’3 for fucks sake. What makes you think she's switched up when you’re pushing to 6’2?!”
“Yeah, she sees me as a friend! No need to complicate things!”
“Whatever, man.”
Even further on, more years later and somehow you’re still there supporting him. You had to do it from afar for a good while but the affection hadn’t died at all. You couldn’t be prouder of each other as you fulfilled your dreams. Time would bring you back together eventually, he was sure of that.
An excruciating couple of years apart but he was beyond grateful that he had you there, in person, to support him in the biggest moment in his career so far. Now all he had to do was win. Make the long flight and scheduling all worth your while. Something was also telling him that this would be his chance. He had been waiting for the right moment long enough and he just knew that winning today would be just the confidence boost he needed.
It seemed like a pretty easy task, they had flown through the tournament thus far like it was nothing. He was certainly on his best form and he had looked forward to an excited facetime call at the end of every victory.
That didn’t feel as certain today though. Things were tough. Much tougher than previous matches and although the whole team were made aware of it before, it was still a shock to the system.
Even with every single white shirt turning into a defender trying to knock him down, trying to intimidate him, he only had one thing on his mind. He didn’t just want to win. He NEEDED to win. He’s been dreaming of the perfect moment for years. He brought you all the way over to Rabat to watch him just like old times. It was so close, he could taste it.
All they needed was an equaliser. And when the equaliser finally came they needed one more goal to hit it home. Egypt’s best off the pitch, down to 10 men. They HAD to win it now.
You were just as nervous as he was; heart in your throat, shaky hands. It was a moment you had seen him work his ass off for and you wanted nothing but success for him. An international trophy at 21 felt like the perfect climax to his career thus far.
Although he had a very clear mind as to where he wanted to stand with you, you had resigned to the friendship role a long time ago. There was a point in time at which you really thought he liked you. Everyone did at the time but with all the girls after him and a lack of movement on his end, you supposed that you were maybe imagining things. Or even worse, that feelings had faded on his end. You didn’t like to consider that possibility at all, it made you sick to your stomach.
He still meant the world to you so of course you couldn’t let him go like that but you always looked back with disappointment. You told yourself that you were more than happy to be his friend, and that the feelings would eventually fade. Yet no other guy made you feel the way he did. No one ever compared to him. You cursed him for the way he raised your standards so high as a mere friend, for the way he always lingered in your mind as the one who got away.
None of that mattered in the moment because the way the stadium erupted upon the much awaited 2nd goal to put Morocco in the lead. You could feel your eyes well up with tears. Only 15 minutes on the clock and your Amir would be crowned a champion. You always knew. Even if he didn’t, even when it felt so far-fetched and fictional you always knew. Your Amir, your superstar.
The 15 minutes feel like 15 years and your heart doesn’t slow down in that time until you finally hear that whistle. The noise of the stadium has you almost dizzy and the welled up tears start cascading down your face as reality kicks in. Champions of Africa.
You don’t even have time to think before you start sprinting down the steps and towards the pitch, pass in hand so you could get in as quickly as possible. Amir is already looking around for you so he catches sight of you quickly and begins his sprint towards you too.
The collision is heavy but thankfully he’s strong enough and manages to catch you in his arms mid-jump. You bury your face in his neck as he spins you around. Your head is spinning when he puts you down so you’re grateful for the way he brings you in for another hug, feet on the ground this time. You can only breathe out in relief as you gently squeeze your arms around him and run your hands over the expanse of his back. He reciprocates with a squeeze of your waist and a small kiss to the top of your head.
“I guess you were right.” he laughs. You look up at him, a silent request to elaborate.
“About the whole ‘superstar’ thing, remember? I mean you’re the smartest person I know but telling the future?! You’re something else!”
You go to respond until you’re interrupted.
“Oh so here’s the happy couple!” none other than the captain chimes in, throwing an arm over Amir as you break the hug.
“You know, Amir has told us all about you!” he tells you loudly and Amir’s eyes widen. You can only smile and blush a little at his implication. Abde only ever joked but the idea of you meaning something more to Amir put butterflies in your tummy.
“I’ve mentioned you a couple times.” he attempts to clarify, shaking his head dismissively.
“HA! That’s such a lie and you know it! He doesn’t shut up, he’s basically obsessed with you I swear-” Amir manages to get a hand over his mouth before he can reveal any more incriminating information.
He manages to drag Abde away and gets a chance to give you a quick hug and a kiss to your forehead as a goodbye before leaving to go with him, reminding you of where to go once the trophy ceremony was over. He puts a thumbs up as you yell a reminder to him to get a photo with the trophy. The locker room celebrations awaited him and they always took a good while. He knew you hadn’t eaten much so he hoped you could grab a little bite to eat while you were there.
Once you’re out of earshot and walking away, he takes his chance to scold his friend.
“Seriously, dude?!”
“What?! I thought I could speed things up, you can’t let this shit drag on forever, you’re only gonna start resenting each other and grow old and miserable. This is boring as fuck, just man up and tell her because it’s so obvious that you’re made for eachother it’s funny!” Abde shakes his head, walking off and jumpscaring another fellow teammate. Stupid antics aside, the captain had some wise words about him, Amir had to admit. His doubts still lingered and he still felt a desire to preserve the friendship he had built with you, keep it safe from anything and everything that could jeopardise it.
You were proud beyond words. The tears came quickly as you watched him receive his gold medal. You had seen him every step of the way. And even though you didn’t know it, you were the reason he picked the damn sport in the first place. His true passion and calling. Amidst the pride and joy, you still felt a pang in your heart. Years of supporting each other and the idea of your love being limited to a friendship hurt. You caught the way he used to look at you quite often. You, yourself, genuinely believed that he liked you yet years on and one giant growth spurt later, you wondered whether maybe he had lost interest along the way; with his newfound confidence and much larger dating pool. Some of those girls were true stunners and you made it a point to never stare as he conversed with them. It would only break your heart. The real shame was that if you had looked, you would see him reject them as kindly as he could. You would see them walk away slightly peeved and you would see him looking right back at you. Because even with everything that had happened, it still was and would always be you. But your attempts at hiding away and protecting yourself prevented you from seeing the obvious.
Your back is to him when he comes to find you. The locker room celebrations finally over. He tried his best to not show his impatience in the locker room but they all knew. So he was not-so-forcefully kicked out so he could go to the one person he actually wanted to be around.
He’s glad to see you eating and looking lively as you talked with some of the other family members that were there. He takes a moment to get a proper look at you while you still hadn’t noticed him. You were only wearing one of his jerseys and some baggy jeans but you still looked angelic to him. He knew you were tired beyond belief, your head probably pounding from the noise of the stadium but you still found it within yourself to smile with your eyes and light up the room like he’d always known you to do. Exhausted but still made those around you smile and chuckle. Your energy and beauty was apparent no matter what and he couldn’t get enough of you. His perception of you hadn’t changed since he was a kid, in fact they had probably only intensified. Even when he had girls fawning over him, his own friends telling him that he was now within your league he still felt so unworthy. Every glance in his direction, every smile, every word spoken, text sent felt like a Godsend. Come to think of it, he never really let himself think like this before, he pushed it away for the sake of preserving the friendship. So he could keep you in the only way he felt he deserved.
At that very moment, the idea of staying only as your friend sounded like a version of hell. He needed more. All of a sudden, the urge to confront his feelings for you head on had grown stronger. He LOVED you. He wasn’t sure how he had managed to push the reality away for so long but it was so clear now. And you needed to know.
He makes his way over, slightly speed-walking because he feared he would lose his nerve if he waited even a minute longer. It takes a little tap on your shoulder for you to finally notice him and the people you were talking to take it as their sign to walk away as you turn around. You immediately wrap your arms around him in a tight hug with your head on his chest. He hoped to god you couldn’t feel the way it was hammering away. You could tell when he was nervous without that but he hoped that somehow you hadn’t picked up on it this once. He reciprocates with the same love and enthusiasm, lifting you up slightly as you squeal. You don’t seem to be letting go of the hug any time soon so he opts to whisper in your ear.
“Can we talk somewhere quieter?” you reluctantly remove your head from his chest as you look up at him, slight concern in your eyes.
“Everything okay?” he nods vigorously, unravelling himself from your arms, holding your hand gently as he guides you away to a quiet balcony.
It felt like destiny here. The cool, crisp air. Clear night sky, stars twinkling and the moon radiant as ever. It was a beautiful scene but you were still the one he couldn’t keep his eyes off of. He takes a second to get one more proper look at you before he begins.
He takes both of your hands in his and you now feel your heart starting to beat faster. You look down at where their intertwined as a way of avoiding those bambi eyes of his. The way yours looked so much smaller in his. The warmth soothing your cold fingertips and the nails that you had manicured the night before, much to his dismay.
“You’ve been there since I could barely kick a ball, you know?” he squeezes your hands gently, a small smile on his face as he recalls your first encounter. You finally look up at him, giving him a small cute one in return.
“You told me I was going to make it big even then, how did you know?”
“Entuition and delusion, love.” you joke and he chuckles a little, dropping his head down to calm himself before finally getting his confession out.
“It feels kind of like a soulmate thing, you know?”
“Well yeah we’re best friends for life, aren’t we?”
“Sure but I was thinking of a different kind of soulmate…”
“I don’t follow…”
“I love you, in a soulmate way. You’ve been the light of my life since all the way back then and that hasn’t changed now. It just feels like we’re not just supposed to be best friends, you know?”
“Amir please…”
“I’m in love with you. Like pathetically and hopelessly in love. I don’t think I can do ‘just best friends’ anymore because I’ve always seen you beyond that…” he physically couldn’t get anymore words out so he hoped that would do and he could feel his heart ready to burst from his chest as he waited for your response.
The silence was loud, all-encompassing, almost suffocating and it felt like time had stopped as you tried to figure out what to say. He could see the cogs turning in your mind yet he had no idea what kind of reply awaited him.
He’s perhaps a little too far in his own head because all of a sudden he feels one of your hands leave his and make its way to the back of his head. He was still trying to process things so his vision was all a blur. The next thing he feels is the greatest surprise. A soft pair of lips on his, like flower petals. Delicate and smooth and so so sweet and addicting. He freezes for a second, asking himself whether this was reality or not. It felt like one of his dreams, his mind was floating as the joy overtook him.
The hand still intertwined with yours lets go and find purchase on your waist, giving a light squeeze as he returns the kiss. It was so soft and gentle that it almost felt as if you weren’t there. Feathlight, perhaps still a little uncertain so he leans forward to deepen it. It was definitely real. He was still floating but it was real. And he couldn’t be more excited.
You take your time with the kiss, doing everything you could to make the moment last and you only part for breath, faces still only a few centimetres away.
“I love you too…” you whisper, still slightly breathless and panting from the previous events. You can only look into his eyes for a second before getting shy and hiding your head under his chin again.
“Your heart is going at like 80 a minute you know? You should get it checked out.” you joke and he gently pinches your side.
“Can you blame me?” You both laugh together, content in each other's arms, staring out at the Rabat skyline and admiring the twinkling stars.
The moment is interrupted by an audience that Amir maybe should have expected. Of course his teammates arrive to finally witness it.
“It took you lovebirds long enough goddamn! Thought we would be stuck listening to him droning on for years to come, fucking idiot.” Abde shakes his head while the others cackle. You can only blush while Amir gives them as stern a look as he could manage.
They finally leave after a couple more minutes of them berating him for waiting this long and your small breathy laughs turn into full-on giggles as you learn the true extent of his love. Looking back, you had both been a bit stupid. So scared of nothing when things were so blatantly obvious. But better late than never, you supposed. You finally had each other. You didn’t have time to think about the wasted years as you looked forward to what was ahead. Mutual feelings out in the open: shared passions and desire, a level of love and respect that spanned 8 beautiful years, excitement for the future. As if Amir’s night couldn’t get any better he finally had the prize he had been wanting from the very beginning. His CAN trophy and medal were great but he finally had you. Not just a best friend but a lover.
You stay in your places for a while, continuing to admire the sky before turning to look at each other again. You narrow your eyes at the cheeky smile that makes its way onto his face.
“What are you looking at?” he doesn’t say a word, taking your breath away with yet another, slightly more desperate kiss which you’re quick to reciprocate. You both smile into it as you soak in the relief of the moment. Years of pining and he was finally yours, your superstar.
Again, very long overdue lmfao. I know the Amir hype has died down significantly since the U23 CAN but i still adore him so i hope u guys like this too <3

In this article, we will review some of the key skills required for expert front web development.

Download Infographic
HTML & CSS
HTML (HyperText Markup Language) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) are the backbone of front-end web development. HTML structures the content of a web page, using elements like headings, paragraphs, links, and images.
CSS styles that content, controlling layout, colours, fonts, spacing, and responsiveness. Together, they allow developers to create visually engaging and well-structured websites.
Mastering HTML & CSS is crucial before moving on to more advanced topics like JavaScript or frameworks. You’ll need to understand concepts such as semantic HTML, CSS selectors, the box model, and media queries.
There are plenty of free and paid resources to help you learn. Great starting points include MDN Web Docs, W3Schools, and freeCodeCamp’s Responsive Web Design certification.
Platforms like Codecademy and Coursera also offer beginner-friendly courses. Practising by building small projects is one of the most effective ways to reinforce your learning.
JavaScript
JavaScript is a core technology of front-end web development, used alongside HTML and CSS to create dynamic, interactive websites. While HTML provides the structure and CSS handles styling, JavaScript enables user interaction by manipulating elements on the page in real-time.
It’s responsible for features such as form validation, image sliders, dropdown menus, modal windows, and dynamic content updates without reloading the page (using AJAX). JavaScript interacts with the Document Object Model (DOM), allowing developers to modify HTML and CSS based on user actions like clicks, scrolls, or keystrokes.
Modern front-end development often uses JavaScript libraries and frameworks such as React, Vue.js, or jQuery to streamline development and enhance functionality. Understanding JavaScript fundamentals is essential before diving into these tools.
There are excellent resources to learn JavaScript, whether you’re a beginner or looking to advance your skills. Top recommendations include JavaScript.info, MDN Web Docs, and freeCodeCamp. You can also find interactive tutorials on Codecademy, as well as comprehensive courses on platforms like Udemy and Coursera.
For in-depth understanding, the book Eloquent JavaScript is highly regarded in the developer community. Practising through small projects and coding challenges will solidify your knowledge.
ES6
ES6 (ECMAScript 2015) is a major update to the JavaScript language, introducing powerful new features that make coding more efficient and maintainable. It brought significant improvements to JavaScript syntax and functionality, including let and const for block-scoped variable declarations, arrow functions for cleaner, more concise function expressions, template literals for easier string formatting, and destructuring for simplifying data extraction from arrays and objects.
ES6 also introduced promises for better handling of asynchronous operations, modules for organising code into reusable components, and classes for a more structured, object-oriented approach to JavaScript development.
ES6 has become a standard in front-end web development, forming the backbone of modern frameworks like React, Vue.js, and Angular, where these features are heavily utilised to create fast, scalable, and maintainable web applications. It also improves code readability and reduces common bugs, making it an essential skill for front-end developers.
To learn ES6, great resources include MDN Web Docs, JavaScript.info, freeCodeCamp’s JavaScript course, and Codecademy’s interactive tutorials. The book Eloquent JavaScript also covers ES6 in depth, while platforms like Udemy and Coursera offer structured courses for more in-depth learning. Practising with real-world projects is the best way to master ES6.
CSS & JS Frameworks
CSS and JavaScript frameworks play a vital role in front-end web development by streamlining the coding process and reducing development time.
CSS frameworks like Bootstrap, Tailwind CSS, and Foundation provide pre-written CSS classes and components for creating responsive layouts, navigation menus, buttons, and more. They help ensure consistent design and save developers from writing repetitive code.
JavaScript frameworks such as React, Vue.js, and Angular offer structured approaches to building interactive user interfaces and managing complex application states. These frameworks simplify DOM manipulation, improve performance, and enable the creation of reusable components.
By using these frameworks, developers can build modern, responsive, and scalable web applications more efficiently.
To learn CSS frameworks, explore the official documentation for Bootstrap or Tailwind CSS, as well as tutorials on freeCodeCamp and W3Schools. For JS frameworks, the React and Vue.js official docs, MDN Web Docs, Codecademy, and Scrimba offer excellent learning paths.
GIT & GITHUB
GIT and GitHub are essential tools for front-end web developers, enabling efficient version control and collaboration. GIT is a distributed version control system that tracks code changes, allowing developers to manage project history, revert to earlier versions, and work on multiple features simultaneously using branches.
GitHub is a cloud-based platform that hosts GIT repositories, making it easy for developers to collaborate, share code, and contribute to open-source projects. It also offers features like pull requests, code reviews, and issue tracking to streamline development workflows.
In front-end web development, GIT and GitHub are used to manage code for websites and applications, ensuring version control and seamless collaboration. They also make it easy to showcase projects in a professional portfolio.
To learn GIT and GitHub, consider GitHub Learning Lab, freeCodeCamp, Codecademy, and MDN Web Docs. Platforms like GitHub Docs and GitKraken also provide excellent guides and tutorials for beginners.
Responsive Design
Responsive design is a crucial aspect of front-end web development, ensuring that websites look and function well across a wide range of devices, from mobile phones to large desktop screens.
It focuses on creating flexible layouts, images, and components that automatically adjust to different screen sizes and orientations. This approach enhances user experience, boosts SEO, and reduces bounce rates by delivering a consistent browsing experience, regardless of the device.
Responsive design relies on key techniques like media queries, flexbox, and CSS grid to control the layout and structure of a website. Fluid grids and responsive images ensure content scales appropriately, while mobile-first design prioritises smaller screens before scaling up to larger devices.
Many front-end frameworks, like Bootstrap and Tailwind CSS, include built-in responsive design features, making it easier to create flexible layouts.
In modern front-end development, responsive design is essential, as mobile traffic continues to grow. It’s a core requirement for building professional websites and web applications.
To learn responsive design, consider resources like MDN Web Docs, W3Schools, and freeCodeCamp’s Responsive Web Design certification.
Books like Responsive Web Design with HTML5 and CSS by Ben Frain and platforms like Codecademy also offer comprehensive tutorials.
Building small projects and experimenting with media queries is a practical way to master this vital skill, ensuring your web pages deliver a seamless experience across all devices.
Conclusion
Mastering front-end web development skills like HTML & CSS, JavaScript, ES6, CSS & JS frameworks, GIT & GitHub, and responsive design is essential for building modern, high-performing websites.
These skills form the foundation of interactive, responsive, and visually appealing web pages. By leveraging powerful frameworks and adopting best practices, you can streamline your workflow and create exceptional user experiences.
With countless online resources available, from MDN Web Docs to freeCodeCamp, there’s never been a better time to start your front-end development journey. Keep practising, stay curious, and continue expanding your skill set to become a proficient developer.

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.5.0/jquery.min.js"></script> <script> $(function() { $(".meter > span").each(function() { $(this) .data("origWidth", $(this).width()) .width(0) .animate({ width: $(this).data("origWidth") }, 1200); }); }); </script>
Feito isso, mete esse código acima de </style>.
/* --- barra de progresso by luana castro - htmluv e great help --- */ .meter{height: 20px; position: relative; background: #f7f7f7; border-radius: 25px; padding: 10px;} .meter > span {display: block; height: 100%; border-radius:20px; background-color: #b8accc; box-shadow: inset 0 2px 9px rgba(255,255,255,0.3), inset 0 -2px 6px rgba(0,0,0,0.4); position: relative; overflow: hidden;} .meter > span:after, .animate > span > span {content: ""; position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; bottom: 0; right: 0; background-image:-webkit-gradient(linear, 0 0, 100% 100%, color-stop(.25, rgba(255, 255, 255, .2)), color-stop(.25, transparent), color-stop(.5, transparent), color-stop(.5, rgba(255, 255, 255, .2)), color-stop(.75, rgba(255, 255, 255, .2)), color-stop(.75, transparent), to(transparent));background-image:-moz-linear-gradient(-45deg,rgba(255, 255, 255, .2) 25%,transparent 25%transparent 50%,rgba(255, 255, 255, .2) 50%,rgba(255, 255, 255, .2) 75%,transparent 75%,transparent); z-index: 1; background-size: 50px 50px; -webkit-animation: move 2s linear infinite; -moz-animation: move 2s linear infinite; border-radius:20px; overflow: hidden;} .animate > span:after {display: none;} @-webkit-keyframes move {0% {background-position: 0 0;}100% {background-position: 50px 50px;}} @-moz-keyframes move {0% {background-position: 0 0;}100% {background-position: 50px 50px;}} .nostripes > span > span, .nostripes > span:after {-webkit-animation: none;-moz-animation: none;background-image: none;}

Web Stagnation
Why does TikTok do that the thing where the previous video is still playing and the one your on doesn't start?
Why does every Online Service suffer from DDOS attacks all the time?
At my previous Job, we created a TikTok-like for watching video snippets for work video tutorials.
And even though we had reduced the amount of videos to be watched to a limited amount and/or limited to videos on the device itself; I was tasked with trying to figure out why it has the same Issue TilTok does.
Which; theoretically because we reduced the overall capacity of the app from "essentially unlimited" to ten; should've alleviated the problem.
This problem also occured on Local hosting the entire app.
I don't even think YouTube found a fix for this.
Now there are two ways to stream a video; either you download the whole thing, or you use a data-buffer.
A data-buffer allows you download a partial sequence of a file, while *still* opening it as normal; which means you can start using the file or watching the video *despite* it still being downloading.
Which is how many services both video and audio avoid these kinds of problems.
Well; the issue *actually* lays in the HTTP protocol itself. And all fixes for this issue have to be built around the limitations of HTTP itself, AND around browser Video operation limitations.
Multi media content like audio and video tend to be packaged as it's own "pseudo-app" in the web page. And this is the same no matter how you're using a web page, through a browser or an app.
Reusable modular design and all.
And all of the current APIs, whether you're using your own, or you're using a ready made solution, have this problem.
Just so you can know our solution; we downloaded ALL the videos and created a MediaPlayer that had limitations on how fast you could switch between videos. Which had to stop video playback, unload the current media, load the new media, and then start playing.
Load/Unload means the media container we were using to play content.
It isn't the best solution, but it's the way we needed to make it work.
But what does that have to do with DDOS attacks you might be saying.
Well; the HTTP protocol is the same no matter how you use it; Offline, online, virtual, whatever...
And hundreds if not thousands of not hundreds of thousands of users have to connect to a single webserver to use a service.
These Valid Users can look like a "DDOS Attack" because of the information lost for each failed connection.
You know when you're loading a webpage with a crappy connection and the loading bar keeps getting stuck half way and you've got no response for the server?
Failed connection.
This doesn't mean that certain hackers aren't DDOSing cuz they're boarded and can't afford the game; it's just that it's mostly the limits of Physics.
Both of these issues combined give us a view of the internet that is a bit dated. We haven't really updated the protocols we use in a bit.
Social Media could use the same Protocol we use for E-Mail (SMTP) for everything it does; but it doesnt.
Either because they don't want the ability to connect outside of the app itself, or because they just didn't think about it.
So they use AJAX and HTTPS connections for these things.
But even if they did try; I think even our Email services are avoiding SMTP for a lot of operations.
All of this adds up to the same reasoning. Our aging Internet Infrastructures aren't really prepared for this kind of communication. Especially when we start using VPNs for Security and Internet Traffic Reduction.
Just think about it this way; we're using the same internet protocols we had when Nintendo Sattellevision was a thing that did make it to America.
And this affects the *whole* internet.
Even the web addresses we have designed are too heavy; leading Elon Musk to finally get his server address x.com instead of Twitter.
Yes, that simple reduction in the web address increased Twitter speeds ten-fold.
These are simply the limitations we're facing, and simply increasing internet speeds won't fix them.
