Romantic rich purple furisode, with proud peacock nestled in candy-like hydrangeas, over a ground with running water and cranes in flight.
The silvery date-eri (decorative collar) must nicely pop irl!

Last Flush Of My Hydrangeas.
For two and a half months my large blue mophead and lace-cap hydrangeas have been bringing glorious color and flowers to our garden. The past few weeks of constant high temperatures have been a real challenge for these wonderful plants which has seen the last of their blooms for this year.

Mimuroto-ji Temple is one of the most impressive sites to see the hydrangea or ajisai in its most spectacular display. Daytime and during evening light-up.

Not-overly-sweet soft hues for this outfit perfect for Japan’s raining season, pairing a yukata with ajisai (hydrangea) in the rain, with matching a lovely rustic looking hanhaba obi

Hattori Hydrangea Park
Last week we visited Hattori Park which is not far from central Mobara in Chiba. The park was magical with over 10,000 hydrangeas of multiple varieties and colors. The hydrangeas are in full bloom at the moment and well worth the visit. Walking around the flowers was so relaxing and you cannot help smiling and being in awe of the view and the colors. I will be back next year for sure.
