24H Le Mans Test Day Report
The day was divided into two sessions, both 3 hours in length. There were a few drivers missing part of (or all of) testing with IndyCar, DTM, Formula 1 and Porsche races taking place the same weekend.
All IndyCar drivers missed all of the testing. Drivers missing testing are supposed to pay some form of a fine, but anyone competing in IndyCar is exempt from that.
Because of teams missing some drivers, several teams opted to choose some reserve drivers for the test. Teams are allowed to put a maximum of 5 drivers on the entry list. Not all drivers ran in the cars they were assigned to.
Session 1
Toyota's Kamui Kobayashi finished the session on top in the #7 car with a 3:28.467, already beating the fastest testing time last year by 2 seconds. Kevin Estre was 2nd in the #6 Porsche with a 3:29.270 and Robin Frijns was third in the #20 BMW with a 3:29.433
In LMP2 Job van Uitert was fastest in the #28 IDEC Sport car with a 3:37.044. He was followed by the #22 of Oliver Jarvis and third was the #14 of Louis Delétraz. The #14 was also fasted in LMP2 Pro/Am though the time was set by a Pro.
In LMGT3 the #78 Akkodis ASP Lexus was on top with a lap from Kelvin van der Linde who later travelled to Zandvoort for the DTM Race. Van der Linde set a 4:00.106. His teammate, Esteban Masson in the #87 Lexus was half a second behind him. Third was Sean Gelael in the #31 Team WRT BMW.
The session saw several interruptions, the first coming from the #3 Cadillac driven by Renger van der Zande. The driver came to a stop during his out lap on the run down to Indianapolis. The car had a fuel line issue. Race Control first opted for a slow zone, but this was later turned into a short red flag.
Following the red flag, Race Control simulated the new safety car procedure for this year which took a while.
During the session two LMP2 cars (the #33 and #47) suffered front suspension issues.
Later in the session a FCY was called as the #87 Lexus was stopped at the exit of the Dunlop Chicane, the car could continue. Only minutes later, there was another Yellow as the #15 BMW of Dries Vanthoor came to a halt. The team told Vanthoor to stop the car as they found abnormalities in the engine. The team eventually opted for an engine change which saw their running today severely interrupted.
The session eventually ended under a red flag as the #37 Cool Racing car of Lorenzo Fluxa went off at the exit of the Porsche Curves. This was the biggest accident of the session as the car was damaged on several corners. Fluxa was said to be ok by the team.
There were several stop and go penalties given due to track limits.

Session 2
Porsche ended the test day with a 1-2 with a 3:26.907 by Kevin Estre in the #6 followed by Felipe Nasr who set a 3:27.142 in the #4.
Times were several seconds quicker than last year with lighter cars and very favourable weather aiding to that. Most cars set their fastest time in the second session.
In LMP2 Oliver Jarvis in the #25 APR Car led the field by over a second with a 3:34.704. He was followed by the #25 of Olli Caldwell who set a 3:35.981. James Allen was third in the #30 in the Duqueine car. The car was also quickest in LMP2 Pro/Am though the time was set by a Pro
In LMGT3 Sebastien Baud set the fastest lap with a 3:59.883 in the #82 TF Sport Corvette. Alex Tiberias followed with a 3:59.920 in the #27 Heart Of Racing Aston Martin. Augusto Farfus equalled his time in the #31 BMW while Sean Gelael was only 2 thousands slower in the same car.
The first interruption of the session came when the #10 Vector Sport LMP2 went off at Indianapolis. According to dailysportscars.com the team already wrote off a chassis during testing at Spa last week. Making this incident another big blow to the team.
During the red flag the #19 Lamborghini spun at Arnage and then drove almost 100M in the opposite direction to the way the track goes. The driver, Matteo Cairoli has had 1 penalty point withdrawn on his license and has been given a suspended 30 seconds stop and go penalty for the race. This means that if he repeats this infringement during any of the sessions next week, this penalty will be handed out.
Later in the session the #14 AO Racing car caused a slow zone followed by a safety car. PJ Hyett tried to overtake an LMGT3 car but instead made contact at the wall at Indianapolis.
Another incident took place somewhere during the session when the #47 Cool Racing Car had contact with the #88 Ford Mustang. The driver of the #47 was deemed at fault but only a warning was given.
During the closing minutes the #7 of Kamui Kobayashi went off at Indianapolis. This caused a red and a premature end to the session.

top 5 seasons in any motorsport?
nothing makes me madder than when I craft a good reply and tumblr eats it!!!! don’t make me redraft you chaos vortex of a half-baked gif workshop, how dare you force me to “improve” my “””writing””” I will deliberately make it much worse.
anyway, this was a good question! whoops under a cut to save your dashes
5. Season 4, Formula E
ok this... it might not actually have been that great a season. and you’ll never know now because the races aren’t on YouTube!!! but like, indulge me here: it was my season and I managed to not think about Sam Bird or his title chances so much, so hard, over so many races that it was him and JEV in contention at the end of it all. my horrible faves!* and it was the end of Gen1 which surely meant something. and there was so much comedy drama! Daniel’s win getting cancelled, then him taking Audi’s first win for a second time and them being pure mad about it because they’d wanted to bin him off for Rene Rast only Lucas had thrown a shitfit and then there he was completely justifying his place on the team!! (I don’t think the direct Audi team thought this but there were corporate machinations) and the absolutely dogshit Andretti car which, my word, you had to feel sorry for Antonio dragging around week after week but which had some truly comedy failures. and Alex Lynn!!!!! all season!!! that wouldn’t happen again until season ruddy seven ffs. shame the car sucked. anyway, good year, good year. we all assume hurling ourselves into the unknown from a relatively secure and financially lucrative corporate position will be rewarded by seeing our faves and perhaps the driver we most horrifically project onto rewarded and it worked!!!!
4. 2020 Formula 1 season
no I know this is a weird choice but I... really liked the 2020 season. it was so weird, obviously and quiet but that somehow. felt right. like there was something changing somewhere, like there was time to think. I don’t really like the glitzy grift side of F1, can’t have an annual Celebrity Interview Discourse Month if you’ve got no celebs can ya and also this was the most reasonable-length season for ages. maybe I simply think of it fondly because FE dropped the ball so chronically in 2020 and also that there was that big, long dark period of nothing so having something at all felt like a lifeline but. Lewis quietly winning the title in Turkey might be my favourite win of his. a little comfort championship after a terrible year.
3. 1997 Formula 1 season
I know what you are about to say!!! unless it’s ‘fuck off grandma’ in which case, yeah, fair. but yes I know I should like the 1996 season more but - and this is the only time in which I will allow this - 1997 was the banter timeline. Jacques Villeneuve won but honestly, that’s totally immaterial to whatever the hell was going on with everyone this year. hardly anyone could finish a race
also I was, like, 11. so. also this was the year when Hungary just decided to commit violence when Damon dragged that piece of shit Arrows to the second row in qualifying and then!!! the lead!!!! and it shat itself in the final laps like the miserable little hangover of an F1 it was. I have been well set up for disappointment ever since.
2. 2017 World Endurance Championship
flipped around a bit on this but actually yeah. yeah!!!! this was the last year of there being two competitive hybrid LMP1 teams (Porsche and Toyota) and without Audi making everyone look like total idiots it was suddenly a genuinely big old battle. and at the same time, LMP2 got really competitive, which it always had been but maybe it was just it was getting more air time at last. and there was actually a proper LMGT pro field with more than one make! ah, heady times. also Le Mans that year was this made dustball of swirling heat and every LMP1 retired in the space of 15 minutes at like 3am while I’d lain down in a bit of warm dirt by the side of the Dunlop curves and then the one Porsche did qualifying laps for the entire rest of the race to get back to the front. Jota nearly won it outright! ok, WEC is allowed to be banter. that is basically what it’s for.
1. 2000 World Rally Championship
listen, someone needs to let me write the simmeringly homoerotic screenplay (Rush-style) about Colin McCrae and Carlos Sainz Snr. these fucks couldn’t stand each other at all! and even worse, the idea anyone else might be their closest rival or team mate. intolerable. 2000 was when they met back up at Ford after a few years of pretending they could ever despise other people as much as each other and it was also a real classic of a fight. Sainz and McCrae ended up scrapping for third while Gronholm and Burns ran away with it and perhaps it was that, the title out of the window, that made this one of their most tender and terrible years. the Ford sucked and they both knew they were better than it, united in disgust for the car and each other. weep.
*’horrible’ and ‘fave’ here being used as a) hyperbolic way of expressing I love them and admire them, b) obviously all of them are my faves. well, apart from that one. faves is an evolving concept that encompasses all my terrible (see point a) sons (see point b)

The Main Title - The Historical backdrop Of Liverpool Football Club
Tumblr media
Subsequent to winning the Lancashire Association in the principal year of presence, Liverpool FC was chosen for the Football Association Second Division for the 1893-1894 season.
Just like with the past season, Liverpool FC was very effective in their second season too, and won the Second Division by a decent edge, experiencing no losses simultaneously. Accordingly they were elevated to the most significant level of English football at that point - the primary division!
As you would expect, Liverpool FC didn't simply proceed to win the association in their most memorable season, yet fired a structure up period with the plan to win the association, as well as the homegrown cup contest. The principal seed of progress was planted in 1896, when Liverpool FC marked Tom Watson to deal with the group.
Tom Watson was the chief of Sunderland AFC, and had a demonstrated history, since he had directed Sunderland AFC to the title multiple times in 4 seasons, and remains their best supervisor right up 'til now.
Over the course of the following 5 years he fabricated areas of strength for an around players like Alex Raisbeck, Bill Perkins, Billy Dunlop, Jack Cox and Sam Raybould. The ลิเวอร์พูล group that began the 1900-1901 was viewed as their most grounded group at this point.
To provide you with a thought of the time this occurred, this was when handlebar mustaches were in high design, the players went to the away games via train as well as pony and carriage, Sovereign Victorias rule was reaching a conclusion and goats would eat on the grass-shrouded patios of Anfield during the week.
The season got off to an ideal beginning with a 3-0 win over Blackburn Meanderers, before a horde of 20,000 at Anfield, trailed by a 2-1 win away at Stir up City, before West Bromwich Albion needed to experience a 5-0 loss by the Anfield outfit.
Fourth round of the time was the first purported Merseyside Derby, an away game against Everton FC at Goodison park. Liverpool FC dug out from a deficit to guarantee a 1-1 draw, finishing their 100% record. Things went more regrettable the following week, when their unbeaten run was finished by title top picks Sunderland AFC, who left Anfield having gained a 2-1 win.
Administrator Tom Watson wasn't generally satisfied to miss out to his previous club, however in the end he and Liverpool FC would triumph ultimately.
Liverpool FC would need to go through testing times first however, and by the turn of the year even the most hopeful ally could never have accepted the group would proceed to win the association that year. Further harm was added to the mission and their certainty through additional losses, and by mid-February Liverpool FC ended up in eighth spot in the association table.
With nine focuses distinction to the top group of the association, Nottingham Woodland, things looked grim. Nonetheless, Liverpool FC made something happen in what was to turn into a brand name of the clubs title winning groups, so before the last round of the time against a generally consigned West Bromwich Albion site, they were level with Sunderland AFC in the title race.
West Bromwich Albion was no weakling however, battling for honor and pride. Liverpool FC was lucky to be leading the pack by one objective to nothing at half time. Following a hard battled last part, Liverpool FC figured out how to cling to their lead, and as a draw would have done the trick their most memorable association title was a reality.
Returning on the train from the midlands, the recently delegated champions were met by a huge group at the focal station, and group commander Alex Raisbeck was brought shoulder high through the roads to the tune of 'The Overcoming Legend'.
On getting back to Anfield, the Association Title prize was gladly positioned in the prize bureau interestingly. However, it wasn't to be the last time this occurred.

The last words that Naomi spoke to Anita through the intercom were 'Just a minute' but it’s now been four or five minutes and the device remains mockingly silent. Anita's unease is quickly being replaced by anger. Joël told her that Naomi was quite strange and eccentric, but there's eccentric, thinks Anita, and then there's downright rude. Just as she is preparing to jab the buzzer a fourth time Naomi's disembodied voice uncoils languorously through the speaker and instructs her to take the elevator to the Penthouse on the 26th floor.
“Thanks,” Anita says tersely, then the elevator doors slide open to swallow her whole.
She steps out of the elevator into a vestibule decorated with several large and confronting paintings, and in front of her is a double door that leads to the apartment that Naomi shares with her fiance Alex Dunlop, the multi-millionaire publisher, philanthropist, and patron of the arts. Anita only has time to ponder the artworks for a moment before the door opens and Naomi is standing in front of her. Anita knows what Naomi looks like: Bridgeport was abuzz 18 months ago when Alex Dunlop bought her a Vermeer at auction for 95 million, and she also glimpsed her briefly one night at the Prosper Room.
Tumblr media
But the woman standing in front of her is not the high maintenance, heavily made up glamazon Anita was expecting; up close she looks young and fresh faced with the type of skin that has probably never known a pimple, and her dark hair is loosely plaited and framing a compellingly pretty but unsmiling face, her eyes the deep azure blue of the sky at dusk. Anita’s chest feels tight, looking at her; there is not a single flaw she can find in her appearance, except that the gravity of her expression makes her want to shout at her to smile, you are young, beautiful, rich and talented, why aren’t you happy? And why aren’t you wearing a bra?
“I’m Naomi,“ says Naomi, and her voice no longer distorted by the intercom is low and lush and velvety, and there is no doubt at all in Anita’s mind as to why so many men have been infatuated by this woman. She is also feels weak with relief that she came here today instead of Joël.
“Nice to meet you Naomi, I’m Anita,” says Anita, adopting a brisk and professional manner. “Where’s Roy? Is he okay?”

When We Truly Met
The very top picture receives credits: Huper by Joshua Earle/@huper
When We Truly Met
I don't know what I did
to lose you...
To have you crumble away piece
by piece until now
I sit here among the memories
with none of you
I wish to go back to the moment
were we stood together,
alone
in a room full of others
No expectations or beliefs
no yesterdays or tomorrows
Just us
I want to go back to our song
where I had all of you
Not just the highlight reel you love
to pull out to show others
I would sell every breath I have left
to go back to the night you took mine away
Where we clumsily twirled among the crowd,
two brushes on a canvas
Creating a work never to be matched
I would tear the cosmos apart
To go back to your bed holding you
and your gaze long after our movie expired
Sitting in a torturing silence comfortable
with you
I no longer have all or
even most of you
But I would die for a chance
to have a piece of you back
To go with these memories
