it’s the fact that in season 15 they emphasized “being trapped in the hamster wheel” as a part of dean’s character arc specifically and then. they gave him hamster death and had him run around the wheel for forty years until sam could keel over and join the enclosure
#HIS ASS IS NOT ESCAPING THE HAMSTER WHEEL#if I think about how they made a character who believed he was predestined to die young and bloody and kept reemphasizing this#themeatically over 15 seasons and deliberately demonstrated that he wanted to live wanted to have a life beyond what he thought he was#allowed#AND IN HIS FINAL SPEECH GOES WELL WE KNEW IT WAS GONNA END THIS WAY FOR ME
