Saw the little nightmares 3 trailer got released and wanted to hear your thoughts on it. Is there anything in particular that you're excited for or just generally hyped about?

Also sorry if this question comes across weird I have no clue about the series but remembered you enjoyed it and drew some stuff for it so I thought it'd be fun to talk about it if that makes sense?

Oh I have so many thoughts on it. So many that I'm going to put them below the cut so this post doesn't take up anyone's entire dash.

First of all, damn my copious amounts of coursework for the fact that I couldn't sit down and start drawing fanart immediately the moment I finished watching the trailer once… or twice… maybe three times. Mark my words though these kids WILL be getting some day 2 (actual) art, even if it's just a little sketch.

…Point being, I was pretty excited right out of the gate. Admittedly, I was a little nervous that the studio changeover would mean that any (potential) future Little Nightmares content would mean a massive tonal shift, but based on the trailer alone + the additional guides related to the game, it nails the atmosphere of the previous games pretty damn well. Hell, the giant baby enemy even resembles some of the concept art from the flesh walls!

Already, Nowhere is combining some of my favorite things (notably locations that seem/are "alive", steampunk motifs, and copious amounts of birds… also reminds me a little bit of Zone 3 from OFF, but that's probably just me), but most notably is the fact that it actually seems to resemble some of the locations seen in the (tragically cancelled) 2017 comics. This is particularly notable in the first issue, which features two children taking shelter in a barn from a monster known as the North Wind (who is made of/"sees through" the eyes of black birds, presumably crows), but the second issue is about a monster that lives within mirrors, which are shown a lot in the trailer as well. Either way, I'm cautiously hoping for some references to the comics, especially because we never got to learn what happened to the rest of the Maw kids there (the answer is probably "they died horribly" but I mean hey. You never know).

The designs of the two protagonists are, of course, adorable. I love the plague doctor/gas mask duo (especially because having face coverings makes sense in such a dusty place) and the bit where they both glide down using feather umbrellas is genuinely so fun—absolutely no complaints there.

…Actually, one complaint: I have no idea which one is Low and which one is Alone. None of the official sources have clarified that. Please LN3… I need to know the names of my new kids before they get put into the meat grinder like every other protagonist in these games. (Given the series' track record, I'm not too optimistic about their fates—sorry little guys! I'll be rooting for you anyway). EDIT: It seems like Low is the bird mask kid and Alone is the hazard suit kid

Mechanically… I don't think we've seen enough of the game for me to make any hasty judgements. I know everyone wanted LN2 to be multiplayer (and LN3 appears to have a singleplayer option), but I'm unsure of how that will work. Will it be Spiritfarer style multiplayer where only one player has to own LN3? Will it be online? Will it be splitscreen? Will me inevitably ditching the main campaign to screw around with my friend ruin the atmosphere? No idea. The way I see it, it's too soon to tell.

While we're on the topic though, I did also listen to the first episode of the audio drama! Without spoiling anything… yeah I can definitely recommend it. It's very reminiscent of The Magnus Archives and/or The Bright Sessions, so if you like either of those podcasts you'll probably like The Sounds of Nightmares. Even if you know absolutely nothing about Little Nightmares, I'd honestly recommend it. Voice mixing is a little off in places (though there's a decent chance it was just my headphones being fucky), but the podcast MORE than makes up for it in terms of imagery and phenomenal sound design. No word on the lore implications though; I'll listen to episode 2 when I get the time and THEN deliver the verdict there. I also hope they release an official transcript for it—there isn't one right now afaik, but that would be really helpful for a multitude of reasons.

But yeah, that's about it! TL;DR hell yeah I'm excited for this game, but I'm trying not to fill in the blanks with too much supposition while there's still so little info available

Fem!reader, in a car ride with Minho, Jisung, Hyunjin and Sungmin. Minho is driving and Hyunjin is in the front seat so you are left in the back seat between Jisung and Sungmin.

The ride is calm, with Hyunjin putting music and singing along with it, Minho humming if he knows the song, Sungmin looking out the window minding his own business, you looking at the gorgeous men that are in the same car as you and then there is Jisung, with a hand on making his way to your thighs, trying to hid his smile cause he knows he is going to cause trouble.

At first, when you feel his hand, you don't pay attention to it since is so common to have some of the guys touching you innocently like this. but when his hands start to caresses his way up your thighs, you realize his intentions are not so innocent.

You give him a questioning look, but he just shows you a smile that promises trouble and his eyes shine with so much fun that you can't deny his advance.

AAAAANNNNDDDD time skip, you end sleeping in the car, naked after stopping in the middle of the road so all of the guys could have their ways with you.

Of course, as yn was so thirsty Minho gives her something to drink (PISS BECAUSE WHY NOT?)

How would Robin's coming out to Dustin would be like?

That's a very interesting question. I imagine he'd be the party member that's closest to Robin given everything that happened in S3, so he'd be the one she trusts most and the first one to know. Even if she knew Will was gay, I think she'd still want to tell Dustin first.

Though "want to tell" may not be the correct phrase. I don't think Robin wants to tell anyone, period. She only told Steve that quickly because she was under the influence of drugs, and I'm sure his positive reaction made her feel a lot safer, like she could actually pursue a girl and tell people about it. But even then, I think she can't help but assume everyone could be an enemy until proven wrong. That'a just how things were. Steve was the exception, not the rule, and she doesn't expect anyone in her social circle to accept her. Before telling Steve, she said it herself - if he knew her he wouldn't want to be her friend.

So I think she wouldn't come out to Dustin unless she really had to. Maybe he thinks she's trying to solve something on her own when she shouldn't because she keeps disappearing to be with an unidentified individual. Maybe Steve got a girlfriend and Dustin thinks he's cheating on her with Robin. Maybe she's being taunted by Vecna about her homosexuality and Dustin insists it's crucial that look out for each other and stop hiding. It's not empowering or glamorous or dignified and it doesn't reafirm her agency in any way. Robin coming out to anyone at this point isn't going to be pretty. But Dustin is rambling and coming up with all of these hypotheses on what could be wrong with Robin, to the point Robin realizes it's gonna be better to just tell the truth. She grabs him by the shoulders and stops him and and tells him look, whatever you're thinking about, it's not that, and it just seems so ridiculously stupid compared to everything that's going on. I mean, just look at Max. She's the one you should worry about, not my stupid, useless feelings. She tries to convince him that it's something personal and that he shouldn't worry about it, but Dustin insists that Max's mourning was also personal, until it became a gate for an evil wizard who wants to destroy thr world. Then Robin tells him she doesn't want to talk about it. Dustin tells her that's what started everything with Max. Robin tells him she's not Max, and that Steve knows anyway, so she's not alone. She can handle it. Then Dustin just feels offended that hairspray head Steve knows something he doesn't when he is the brains of the operation. You are the brains of the operation? Robin asks, trying to change the subject, but Dustin insists that she's not alone, and that whatever it is, this is what friends are for. He honor promises on Suzie that he won't tell anyone. He wouldn't insist so much if he didn't knew doing this almost killed Max last year. He's a traumatized 15yo looking out for his friends and Robin knows that. Between you and me, Dustin is her favorite. He's the only boy in the party with half a brain, at least. And she thinks it's funny when he bullies Steve. He's a toddler in her eyes but he's her friend, and she never had many friends growing up. Now se has like, three and a half.

If I tell you, you won't want to see me anymore, she tells him.

What are you talking about? I put up with Steve every day. It can't be worse than that, he says.

Believe me, it's worse, she says.

So... she tells him. About Tammy Thompson and Vickie and maybe even about Nancy, and how she told Steve and how scared she was all her life. How she knows it doesn't seem normal to most people. Maybe she let herself be convinced that it actually is. She feels like a freak sometimes. And that's it. That's the reason she was acting weird. She wasn't kidnapped and replaced by interdimensional aliens. She's just in love with a woman.

Dustin is, admitely, a little shocked. It never crossed his mind that that might be the reason. He just wasn't expecting it, and he stays silent for a minute. Probably the longest minute in Robin's life.

And then he tells her that's okay. Yeah, yeah, it's not that weird. He plays DnD and he doesn't have collarbones, so he's not going to be judging anyone anytime soon. Plus, he likes girls too, so he can at least relate to that. He knows Mike thinks Will doesn't like girls, and Will is always going to be his friend no matter what, so there's no reason it'd be different with Robin. He hugs her real tight actually, and tells her the party is there for her. No one has to be alone.

Robin actually tears up a little when Dustin isn't looking. She feels incredibly lucky, and she can tell papa Harrington raised his kids right. Maybe things aren't as grim as they looked. Maybe Dustin is right, and she doesn't need to be alone. Maybe she finally found her people.

Canon!Luz hitting a half-asleep Hunter exhausted from night patrol and a rough mission from yesterday with a frazzled HUNTER ARE WE DATING is so fucking funny to me. Like this guy is so tired, he was promised a morning of sleeping in because Luz said she would too so he'd still be doing his job, technically, and his sleep-addled mind deduces this is another one of Luz's miniature freakouts where she overthinks to the point she stresses herself out and whatever answer he gives is half-formed and vague before he falls back asleep because he can tell Luz isn't *seriously* stressed out(unsure if canon!Luz can even be freaked to the point princess!Luz can get on a weekly basis) so he eventually rolls over and falls back asleep, telling her to do the same.

And listen. Luz is very bisexual. And she has eyes. And Hunter is sleep-rumpled in a very cute way. Hair tousled and face actually relaxed in sleep. The cutest handsome boy. And she'd go "yeah okay alternate universe me, I see you."

Meanwhile princess!Luz is like, staring way too much at canon!Hunter and canon!Amity, drinking in how happy and free they look in this nice dream she's having and hoping she can remember them when she wakes up. Maybe she completely misinterprets canon!Luz and Hunter's relationship when she falls into habits she has with her Hunter and canon!Hunter doesn't seem used to it at all and she thinks "oh, of course, even a dream knows Hunter is better off without me near : ) but how nice of it to show me what he could be like if we were apart" LIKE LUZ GIRL PLS. And if she figures out Amity is her girlfriend here she wouldn't even doubt that mindset, just sum it up as the dream giving her what she'd want but can't have : )

at the same time, i think she'd be just as curious as her canon self. and pepper everyone with a million rapidfire questions. if she doesn't think that she's dreaming then i think she'd be super cautious until she figures out what's up. if she DOES think that she's dreaming, though, no harm no foul in being as talkative and annoying as possible. luz is like hey everyone i'm not from here what's up. just curious how long have you all gotten along and how often do you try to kill each other?????

Rest In Peace, David Crosby

Like so many, I'm shocked and heartbroken to have lost David Crosby today. I think a lot of people that knew his difficult history are surprised he made it to be 81 (I know he was). He lived a life of struggle, loss, and pain, but also one of great celebrations and successes, including a six-decade career as one of the greatest musicians of our time as a founder of The Byrds and the very first initial in Crosby, Stills, & Nash (& Young)...allegedly because it "rolled off the tongue" most pleasantly. 😉

For someone who always seemed to be on people's nerves, David Crosby did nothing but build up and celebrate those around him, very often musicians whose talent he would modestly deny that he himself could match. In CSNY, he struck me as the consummate hype-man: always grinning broadly behind his thick mustache, swaying his fringe and beads in time with the music, and eagerly chatting up an audience between songs as if literally allergic to dead air. He brought to the act some of the things that humanize them: "higher than three kites strung out in series," his ad-lib banter an insight into the simplicity of enjoying the process of making music together, avoiding formulaic repetition that destroys joy and instead experimenting with their craft like they had nothing to lose. David would tell you exactly what was happening, even if it was better you didn't know.

In the foreground, he was a live wire, but in the background, he shone steadily like a warm star. David was somehow in everybody's corner at the same time. More often than not, he held down the middle, a notoriously difficult harmony line, and made it sound not only easy but genius. Couched between the two bookends in the form of Stills and Nash, his rich, velvety tone never sat still for too long, creating complex moving intervals that he usually made up on the spot. His alternate guitar tunings only did more to amplify opportunities for that welcome weirdness, making it hard for anyone else to really capture what the trio could do together.

Though his history with addiction is often vulgarized, some of my favorite CSNY stories are linked to their friendship enduring in spite of it. In the mid-1980's, Neil Young incentivized David to get clean by promising to make another CSNY album only on that condition (and now we have American Dream). When, years later, David underwent surgery for complications due to drug use, Graham Nash tells:

The loss of David is another crippling blow in the community of artists that taught a generation to question the status quo. His observations on the world in the form of pieces like "What's Happening?," "Triad," and "What Are Their Names" raise the possibilities that our elders don't have all the answers, that society isn't as clean as it seems, and that we better find a new way forward if we can. The call for the revolution came with a soundtrack, and Crosby's prints are all over it.

Today he has left us, and it doesn't yet seem real. Tonight I grieve for him on behalf of the generation that embraced him and his message, and the people in his life who never got a chance to reconcile with him after their bonds had severed, for whatever reason. Assigning blame is silly and tiresome and misses the point. Instead, in David's memory, speak your mind, say you're sorry, tell the people you think are great that they are, and never be afraid to let your freak flag fly.

We love you, Croz. Rest easy until we meet again.

How do I tell you guys about the unhingednessnessness that is this game without spoiling it?

Well, for one, I can tell you that it's pretty damn crazy. Like always, it starts off so cutesy and "Oh, this guy isn't toxic at all! What do they mean 'yandere'?" to "WHAT THE F--K. IS HAPPENIIIIING?!". Okay, maybe not that unhinged -- actually, it isn't as unhinged as I'm suggesting at all -- but it still gets pretty crazy pretty fast.

This review is going to be way shorter than the other ones that I've done because the game itself is pretty short. It's only like 15 - 20 minutes long, maybe a 5 minute difference if you get the same "What the hell?!" reaction that I had at a very specific part that I'm going to try to avoid telling you.

That being said, the intro is about as long as I can make it considering the game is so short, so let's cut the bullshit and start summarizing.

So, boom.

We get off of work, and we are greeted by our man~

His name is Takuya, and...meh, a little basic lookin' but he still cute or whateva. I'd let him hit it.

Anyways, so Takuya and us are making small talk. In the midst of this small talk, he goes on this weird mini rant about technology, and basically, how he feels that it shouldn't really be a thing because it ruins relationships. We just kind've brush him off, like "Yeah, I know", end the conversation there, and eat dinner.

During dinner, we're talking again, and here he comes with the heavy stuff again. He drops the whole "Do you love me?" question because he's like really, really, really insecure about this, but we reassure him, and he's good again; however, now we're like:

"Aha, time for dessert, knowwhatlmean~?" Oh lawd...

And he's just "Shiiit, okay! But let me do the dishes first". Wack...

So, we put our little flirt session on pause for a second for household chores because he's just got to be the perfect house boyfriend, but it's paused for more than a second because we start feeling real dizzy and pass out.

For the sake of not ruining it, we have this pretty gnarly dream and wake up in a cold sweat because of it, but we are pretty damned disoriented because the dream was super vivid which was super weird because it felt so real. Takuya sees/hears us kind've freaking out and was just like "Don't even trip. I got you. Just go back to bed." but it's like, nah, son, because why are you just brushing me off when I'm trying to confide in you?

You already know that this started a whoooole bunch of shit, and it starts to rapidly go downhill from here. No, I am not telling you what happened or even going to give a synopsis because I can't! Lol don't look like that! You already know that I wasn't going to tell you how it ended nor all the juicy details because I need you to play this for yourself! But I will leave you with this very concerning screenshot from the game.

Yeah...this man is a little psycho...

Like I said, 100/10 I would give you more details, and believe me, I really, really, REALLY want to but also like I said, the game was super short and pretty much to the point. It damn near went from 0 to 100 without much warning -- it lowkey did, to be real with you. You deadass just have to play the game yourself, and I promise you'll see what I mean when I say it truly is short and psycho.

For it being so short, this visual novel is pretty damned intense, and it is good!

The best part about this game to me is the visuals of Takuya's sprite. As per usual, you'll know what I'm talking about when you play it yourself. There has been quite a few times that, when I read a visual novel, the imagery around the sprite will startle me, especially if it was meant to be a jumpscare or something, but holy shit, seeing Takuya's sprite change was extremely unsettling this time around. And then--! What made it all the more effective was what he said when the personality flip happened.

Ugh! It's so frustrating because I want to tell you guys about that scene so bad, but it'll ruin a crucial part of the story, and it's burning me not to include it in this review. I'll leave you with this though, and for like the third time at this point, you'll know what I mean if you choose to play this:

• The way that you THINK his sentence is going to end is not the way it ends, and it ran a literal shiver down my spine the execution was so good • That scene alone made that entire game. It was pretty good, but then that scene carried it on its shoulders. It really solidified the tone and creepiness and suspense of the game

That's pretty much all I have to say! Like I said, definitely play the game yourself, because explaining it without the really intense part just does not cut it. You honestly have to play it because you are missing out on a short, intense little gem of a game. Just as a fair heads up, it's a touch bit predictable, but at the same time it's not. If you're like me, you'll have a very clear suspicion during a specific part, and while you're right, it's not exactly going to pan out the way that you think nor for that particular reason. There's still some surprise to it, so don't let that deter you!

So when season two came out I promised I was going to dive into it and then I proceeded disappear but I'm back. Also I've been at school and work all day so sorry if some things dont make sense, or if theres any grammatical errors.

I know I talk about Crowley alot on here, but Azi has been on my mind lately, especially regarding his religious trauma. I mean this is one of the main plot points of season two (and a little bit in season one) Azi's main problem is that he still thinks in the very black and white, kind of old fashioned way of thinking that heaven is good, and hell is bad. We see this very very often in the show whether hes saying things like this to Crowley, for example:

(And in season two when he says something along the lines of "and you are evil, I'm afraid")

It seems something that Azi battles with for a long time, from when Azi freaks out when angel Crowley even CONSIDERS questioning God, he doesn't know what to say and goes in full panic. And these little remarks through the series shows what he still (tries) to believe. But I think he really begins to question during Job not only that he must be, by default, a bad angel for lying, yet he hasn't fallen, when someone like Crowley didn't do anything as severe and yet he fell?

But the problem Azi has is he cannot let this ideaology go. I mean we see him TRY to in season one and season two, he fundementally thinks Crowley is a good person, and he knows deep down the things heaven is doing is horrible. But Azi is too forgiving (we see this with Gabriel) and too optimistic in what heaven COULD be/ what God COULD be planning.

And this dynamic between him and Crowley is really interesting, it kind of shows the two spectrums of what religious trauma can do. Crowley, for example, has accepted early on that God has abandoned him, and he has learned the hard way that neither side is good and is instead better off fending for himself. We do see in his desperate moments him pleading to God, but time and time again he is ignored, which creates this weird relationship with Azi where for 6000 years he kept this weird distance between them in fear of abandonment again. While Azi on the other hand, does not know what it's like to fall, he deeply loves God and thinks She will always be good, but he is shown through other angels horrible things, and it's confusing (why would she create horrible angels, why would she cause disease and death if she was so good?) We see him get panicky once again when Crowley brings up the question in episode three as to why did God create poverty and expect those in horrible circumstances to turn out as good as those born in castles? And Azi kind of tries not to think too much about the point Crowley is making. I think Azi HAS silently questioned Her since Bliblical times, but has pushed it down, that's how his best friend fell, and the last thing Azi wants is God to abandon him.

Finally, I also want to touch on Azi's desperate need to be good and seen as good by others. I think this stems from him being seen as a "lesser" angel, being sent to Earth as more of a sort of punishment, being looked down on because of it. The one major thing him and Crowley have in common is not fitting in, anywhere. So I think all of this causes him to ache for validation that what he's doing is right. He says in season two that since he isn't reporting to Heaven, he calls Crowley to tell him about the good things he's done. We also see during the Job part where he lies to Gabriel, that he thinks he's a bad angel and once again I feel like this causes him to feel like he must over compensate and take the pain and sadness put on to the world for the better of everyone else.

Mitskis song "I Don't Smoke" always reminds me of Aziraphale becuase of the line "if you need to be mean/be mean to me/ I can take it/and put it inside of me" because time and time again Azi goes and does things to benefit others, and not himself. He puts himself on the front lines for people who have hurt him. Gabriel is a good example of this, this guy has tried to kill him! And yet he helps him. Crowley is obviously fraustrated by this, but Crowley doesn't understand exactly WHY Azi is like this, they have dealt with their trauma differently. So of course when the metatron offered him a position in heaven he took it. Not only did it help him feel validated and finally 'good enough' but also he once again jumped in front of a bullet heading directly to the world, and Crowley. He belives he is doing good by going to heaven. Even if it hurts him, he NEEDS to feel like he is helping others, and he believes that if God technically has appointed him to such a power to make sure nothing bad happens, then in his mind she must be good then.

can I ask who that strongest and most important girl is and also about what makes that episode so horrible and infuriating… I’m curious I like hearing you talk abt ranma O_o

(i'm going to use pronouns/genders as they're used in the show for clarity so i apologize if this sounds rough) her name is tsubasa, she met ukyo (girl who spent most of her formative years dressed as a boy, and another girl that ranma's dad promised ranma's hand in marriage to when ranma was too young to understand what was even happening) when they were young and has been in love with her ever since. eventually, ukyo gets sick of receiving love letters from tsubasa so she sends tsubasa a letter saying "i'm in love with someone else, drop it already", with a picture of girltype ranma (because tsubasa thinks ukyo is a boy, so the person that ukyo is in love with should be a girl). well tsubasa shows up and takes ranma (ranma spends most of this episode as a girl, the episode just starts out with him in his girlform without explanation. and he only changes to his boyform for a specific reason which ill get to. based. anyways) as a rival for ukyo's affections instead of taking the hint that ukyo is just not interested.

in an attempt to get tsubasa to finally drop it, akane (she's also here) tells tsubasa that ukyo is a GIRL, not a boy like tsubasa supposedly originally thought, but tsubasa proudly announces that she ONLY likes girls and she has in fact known all along that ukyo is a girl and just doesn't care. this is of course based on tsubasa's part but she is met with disgust by especially akane. ranma is preoccupied because tsubasa called him ugly.

tsubasa later falls in love with ranma (still girltype) in a heart to heart where ranma feels bad about winning ukyo's affection over tsubasa, especially considering he doesn't even LIKE ukyo, because no matter how annoying someone is if they start crying ranma will start to feel bad for them. anyways she says she never actually thought he was ugly she was just jealous that ukyo liked ranma better. ranma is so kind to her that she falls in love with him.

the second half of the episode is essentially them trying to make tsubasa straight, this is where it gets really bad. akane meets her for lunch and tries to tell her that she should try and find a good boyfriend instead of chasing after ranma and ukyo, but tsubasa dismisses her and says that she hates boys and isn't interested in anyone else. then, ranma agrees to meet tsubasa for a date. he shows up though as a BOY, which obviously makes tsubasa angry, and when akane and ukyo approach him about what he's doing he says he was "trying to get her back on the straight and narrow."

THEEEN then through a series of events tsubasa gets revealed to actually be a BOY who crossdresses. ukyo knew this the whole time and thought the other two already knew. akane and ranma are deeply disgusted, calling him a creep and a pervert and a freak. akane questions if he's gay (this episode is literally the most direct they've been about sexuality, also that question makes no damn fucking sense), and he proudly says that nope, he's as straight as they come, he just likes to dress up as a girl. ranma says thats really weird and gross and tsubasa tells him that he and ranma are kind of exactly the same actually, which ranma angrily dismisses (and the way this discussion is framed the audience is supposed to agree that ranma is somehow different).

now tbf i havent WATCHED every episode, there's a lot i havent seen/read yet, but this is the most direct they've been about .. all of this. offhanded comments are BAD but i can stomach it fine, but literally the whole plot of this episode is "this girl is a lesbian, this is disgusting and we need to fix it" to "this [girl] is [trans], this is disgusting and we need to shun [her]." part of my annoyance with it also is that ranma LITERALLY spent the first half of the episode AS A GIRL, FOR NO REASON, TO COMPETE IN A CONTEST WITH TSUBASA OVER WHO COULD SELL THE MOST OKONOMIYAKI [TO SPECIFICALLY GUYS] BASED ON LOOKS ALONE? and this was treated as a silly gag as usual (still bad framing obviously but to be expected), but when tsubasa did it it was freakish and perverted. akane has MANY romantic scenes with ranma while he's a girl, but tsubasa blatantly saying "i only like girls" was treated as an issue that needed to be fixed.

idk it might sound silly to hear me be so upset about this ep like what did i expect really, but this is the most on the nose they've ever been . and it just made me sad and was hard to watch . worst part is, its still a trans allegory and none of this is unrealistic. i cant even say the characters wouldnt do or say that. the episode's deep hypocrisy is so obvious that its kind of insane that the mangaka didn't even recognize it. like of course akane would be extra disturbed by a girl who likes girls due specifically to the fact that she's afraid of her own obvious bisexuality, and of course ranma would be extra disturbed by a boy who shamelessly enjoys telling people he's a girl due specifically to the fact that ranma is coming around to doing that as well himself and its frightening because it's supposed to be wrong.

the reason i like ranma 1/2 is because i LIKE the realness of it. even though the premise is so bizarre, it does actually feel like how it would go if a kid in the 1980s was slowly realizing they were bigender due to a freak incident that forced them to confront their gender identity in a way they never would have otherwise. because of the perspective of the author, this is never fully going to come to pass, which makes me sad but is to be expected. i feel like my expectations are generally where they should be, even though i complain about it a lot its not totally because i EXPECTED better. most of it is bad. not even just from a "this is transphobic" perspective but just from a narrative perspective, pretty much nothing ever changes, none of the characters really learn anything (except ranma sort of), most of the time the story is just chasing its own tail. but there's something special about it and something really important to me that i have a hard time putting into words. idk idk i need to get them out of there. does this all make any sense at all

I can't quite remember where, it was either here or on ao3 that you mentioned that Chris is a bit of the jealous/possessive type. At least because of his condition maybe, and it got me thinking about that.

It feels like it would definitely have a sinister vibe to it, I can certainly see it building in GP. Watching Ryan, potentially following him around, the ambigious touches, the weird conversations, and the revealing dreams. It's just below the surface, but noticbly inches out closer to the full moon or after interactions with Dylan. It's just so interesting because nobody would think that Chris has any bad intentions. He's just an old dude who's hard set on his rules and is openly fond of Ryan in anyone else's eyes.

Seeing glimpses of what could be him losing his composure is tantalising and creepy at times. As the reader, we have a different perspective than Ryan. He just really wants Mister H, and it's amusing how frustrated he's become. But then that begs the question, what is going to happen when he gets him? All bets would be off, I guess.

I've been trying to imagine what they might be like once it's all up in the air. That Ryan knows Chris wants him and how Chris might alter his behaviour. What's the use of hiding his intent when that person is aware? It's difficult to think of how different things might be after that. And I'm quite curious just how open or obvious Chris might be about his possessive, overly protective feelings towards Ryan might be. I'm also curious about who else Ryan might be meeting, but I have a feeling it could be some of the other hacketts? Maybe Travis, god, imagine if Ryan somehow got to meet Constance or Jed. It'd maybe go okay if he did as he was told and kept being polite, but he wouldn't like them. Didn't he say he doesn't like Jed at the start of GP? If he met Bobby, under normal circumstances, I feel like there'd be room for a comedic moment. Both of them just awkwardly stand there in the woods or something.

Bobby not knowing what to do because there's nobody to tell him what to do, plus Ryan isn't a threat. Then our poor guy is panicking, thinking, "Who is he, is he a hunter, I thought they weren't allowed on the property? Why does he kinda look a bit like Chris?" Imagine Chris behind the camera freaking out and cursing up a storm. He rushes down there to defuse and talk their way out of the situation. Only to reach them and see of all the bizarre things that Ryan and Bobby are having a simple, weird, but positive conversation. Maybe Ryan said something blunt and awkward like "nice, knife?" and Bobby just started explaining to him how he got it and what it's good for. It could be the most crackiest, chaotic convo, but Ryan is just nodding, listening, and making a few comments. Meanwhile, Chris is just confused behind a tree or something, feeling conflicted bcs it'd bad that Ryan bumped into Bobby. But idk maybe if he and Bobby have a decent brotherly relationship, he'd feel kinda grateful or happy that Ryan is making an effort to talk to Bobby. Yk like how he liked that Ryan makes an effort with Kaylee and Caleb? It'd be the most chaotic and weirdly funny thing if Ryan managed to accidentally get Bobby to like him. Especially considering what happens in canon. But that's just a funny weird little imagine ramble, haha. I doubt it'd actually go like that, it was just funny to think about. Pfft, imagine Chris telling Bobby that if he promises to keep the interaction a secret, he can come see them later. All the hacketts except the parents having lunch with Ryan. It would be chaotic af, lmao.

Sorry for that long-winded ramble, I only meant to ask and wonder about Chris's hidden possessive mannerisms. I ended up coming up with an odd Bobby and Ryan bonding moment instead of all things, haha.

heya! it was a while, since we talked the last time. and considering how, i’m yet to re-read my works to recall, where i’ve dropped it all, my memory on that bit is also rusty. but chris sure is possessive! though, i’d say that the wolf part of his nature is only half of the problem. the other part is that chris himself have those feelings / emotions no matter what, but if he wasn’t a werewolf, he would have been better at hiding / controlling it. 

and honestly, jealousy is generally not a good thing / emotion, even if i’m an absolute sucker and advocate for it in fiction. jealousy is hot to me, as well as possessiveness. irl, it would be a different matter, but considering how good portion (if not all tbh) of my ships usually have at least one ‘yandere’ or emotionally unstable individual, it makes perfect sense for them to lean very heavily into that aspect. express their dedication to a person in somewhat extreme ways. tho when i’m looking specifically at my supermassive ship, funny enough there is not much space for such stuff, haha. at least, not in how i write it. i mean, if we take idk john/andrew, there isn’t any possible rival there, bc andrew and john are kinda joined by the hip and get along to the point, where every other interaction in comparison just doesn’t live up to what they have. well, from my point of view, anyways. but in chris and ryan's situation, it’s different, since ryan despite being a quiet, weird kid has people, who have crushes on him and then there are folks, who are friendly to him. and generally, chris’s view on ryan isn’t similar to john’s on andrew. from chris’s perspective ryan would eventually date and prob marry people, which naturally doesn’t sit well with him. he’s not proud of it, of how he seem to put an invincible claim on ryan, but it is a thing lol. and in GP, he’s way more weak-willed vs in ASB. he cannot help himself, and the further it goes, the worse it gets. and yeah, that’s the scary, might i say even realistic part about chris. he’s fatherly, friendly, old-educational kind of man. you look at him, and think, hey he’s rough around the edges, kinda awkward, but he’s nice and tries his best. and yeah, he does tries his best. he's fatherly and overall (usually) means well, but he’s not nice lol. and while at first, he did tried to be a parental figure for ryan, he honestly wanted just that, eventually it twisted and changed as ryan got older….less boyish and more ‘easy on the eyes’. and then, most importantly, he’s also chris’s first ‘friend’, the only attachment beyond his family nest. so in a way, you can see how he will get weird about it tbh. esp bc he and ryan get along so well. he would be afraid to lose it. to see ryan moving on. and while he knows that it would be for the best, it's also one of those instances, where he wants to be selfish about it.

as for how they will act once they’re properly ‘together’, well, it would heavily lean onto the lil plot that slowly happens in the fic. besides they cannot be a ‘normal’ couple in public for example. not only are they're a boss and employee, but ryan is way younger than chris. and it’s if we won’t take into account both of their families, and how ryan and chris themselves were raised. and how while it’s part of why they understand one another, they also will be 'weird' in any relationship. even if in their case, it’ll be somewhat comfy, bc they’re both like this. but what i can say is that ironically chris prob be less aggressive toward dylan, once he and ryan are together lol. one might have pictured it the other way around, but nope. but like, why would chris be jealous of that poor lad, when ryan picked him? it's like set in stone from that point on, esp when chris will see the 'proof' of it. ryan means business. but that applies only to dylan, haha. bc chris always feels somewhat bad for picking on him so much. since really, it’s not his fault for liking ryan, from chris's bias perspective, who wouldn’t? but there is also another aspect of how much one can let the other person know, the level of ‘creepy’ they are about them. if a person is smart and have at least some understanding about what is ‘okay’ and ‘what’s not’, and if they know that they're actively doing the later, they would try to either play it down or keep it a secret. out of all my supermassive ships, only du’met can be openly creepy, bc he’s a serial killer and he’s well-aware that he's what one might call bat-shit-crazy. and then, charlie is a low-key narcissist, so y'know...it works, haha. in comparison, everyone else will be partly scared to alienate the other person, to push them away, bc of how obsessive they are about them. and in chris’s case, it’s also complicated by a simple fact, that he’s a werewolf. him and ryan being together not only somewhat ‘problematic’ for 'normal' reasons, but also bc chris essentially a serial killer. it would be so-so much harder for him to be ‘decent’ about stuff, or seem this way, if one will be like ‘jesus, he’s a real deviant. he prob liked killing and eating those people too. and prob have some murder fantasy about that ryan kid too’. even knowing everything, ryan won’t think this, naturally. but chris will still hold that fear, bc he cannot know for sure what ryan might assume. to him, it’s a very tricky territory. but then again, if only he knew the extent of ryan’s own obsession, he might have been a bit calmer about that part, haha. i also must say, that ryan is prob the one, who isn’t fully aware about his own ‘claimship’ on chris. 

i mean, he doesn't want to imagine mister h having a type and all. also if someone thinks, that chris is hella unreasonable with dylan (which he kinda is), you just wait what would have happened, if ryan suspected that chris might have new 'favorite' camp counselor. i even had that hilirious one-shot idea, where both ryan and chris are both jealous of dylan. like chris would try to keep dylan closer to himself, so that he'd spent less time with ryan, but from ryan's pespective it would look like he might be getting replaced. like y'know a classic rom-con stuff, haha. i honestly tend to feel somewhat bad for people like dylan, who is bystander and just kinda gets caught in the middle of it all, while being absolutely clueless. and it gets even more messy, if everybody learning what hackett fam was doing all this time. learning what chris was doing, and ryan is over there still openly simping for mister h, regardless of it, haha. like, it's pretty much canon, and it's amazing. i'll be honest, it's not super important to me what other characters think about my ships within the story. but i love how often, it would create some very awkward situations or an actual 'bruh, wtf' moments. ryan can overlook kidnapping, cut off limbs, deaths and all, if only it would mean, that chris did nothing wrong. amazing. great! one of my biggests personal let downs is that no one in LH, calls out john for almost instantly forgiving andrew abandoning / accidently killing people. john and ryan share that 'selective blindness' to a t.

and oh, since it takes me so long to continue the story, i’ll drop a lil spoiler for you. yeah, jed and bobby are one of few people, who ryan will cross paths with. but it won’t be cute, haha. and he will meet travis too. he prob will met every hackett, beside constance. i wanted him to hang out with caleb as well, since the last story had more spotlight on kyalee. feels fair to give the other hackett sibling some time with ryan too! and yeah, ryan did think that jed sounds like an asshole lol. bc well, he is. ryan despite his emotional stupor, still can see the difference between how his own grandparents raised him and what chris’s parents did. there is a thin line between ‘tough love’ and negligence / low-key sadism, but ryan can feel it. for him chris's family sounds closer to his mother vs his grandparent. so no good 'role model'. ryan also keen enough to notice, that chris has that weird almost automatic response to any critic toward his parents methods. if someone was raised in a norm fam, sure they would defend them, but not to the point of almost knee-jerk reaction.

and this kinda why i often feel, that people mistake chris’s obedience / need to inform his parents about things for him being ‘the spoiled child’ out of the 3. when in fact, he prob ‘has to do those things’, bc he thinks that he has to do them. same with travis. If you look at constance’s favourite phrase of ‘encouragement’ aka ‘good boy’, it legit sounds like smth that you would say to a dog tbh. not to mention, that all 3 of hacketts brothers still live in that very same place, next to their parents, even if they’re all beyond 40. And you can see why well, bobby be there. but while travis was no doubt gaslighted / manipulated into staying, bc what if they needed smth. chris on other hand most likely was ‘conditioned’ to keep the family business running. he might still like his job and love nature, but it didn’t mean, that he couldn’t try to open a camp someplace else. but he never did. like, there is a lot of ‘what the hell’ moments from ryan’s pov when it comes to things that he notices about chris and his stories and interactions with his family. if you love someone, and see them being mistreated or cut off from bigger opportunities or just generally mislead for someone else’s needs, you would feel offended on their behalf, won't you? besides, it’s not like chris is a big fan of ryan’s mom either. but at the same time, he’d be more mild and understanding about ryan’s grandparents, bc they low-key remind him of his own parents, and like travis, he tends to come up with excuses for them. anyways, sorry tangled! as for bobby and ryan’s dynamic, i actually feel like out of 3 brothers, bobby is naturally sadistic, even if in a child-like way. but i do think and hc, that he has this 'odd' kind of interest for ryan. not romantic or anything, but more of lines when a small, cruel kid sees a wounded mouse and decides to see what he can do with it, simply bc it cannot run away and prob will die, anyway. so their interaction won’t be adorable, but i love your take on it, haha. in a lighter themes fic, this surely has a place! in GP, tho it’s more of horror and ‘bad’ progression. 

with this being said, i don’t hate any of the hacketts, not even constance. it takes a lot for me to downright hate characters. i also cannot hate characters, who are effective in the story, which chris’s family is. we as a player walk in their home, we see them interacting with one another, and we can see why chris and travis are the way they are. the message about the family sticking for each other isn't bad on paper, it's really aren't. but it depends on what sort of family it is. what kind of dynamic it has. and what we see paints a picture of a very unhealthy co-dependance between all of the hacketts. but it runs so deep, that neither travis nor chris seem to think that anything was wrong. or rather, that there was messed up stuff, and smth didn't felt right / nice, but it's all okay, bc this is just how family are, right? as even in the end, travis was like ‘we never wanted to hurt anyone’, when constance and jed, clearly gave zero shits about murdering and burying people as long as it kept their family safe. and it’s not the intent and motive itself that is chilling or twisted, it’s the way, both jed and constance talk and behave about it. like it’s nothing. and it’s kinda different to travis’s stoic and shell-shocked behaviour, to how he nearly numb to it, bc it’s too much. or to chris’s nervous, skittish guilt, that doesn’t stop him from doing those things, but clearly makes him feel disgusted with himself. jed and constance have none of those things lol.

either way, out of all the main characters, only laura had a chance to get ‘close’ to the hacketts and kinda explore their broken family in a more personal way. and i kinda really wanted ryan to do the same. esp bc is this also raises a question of how ‘better’ hackett brothers would have been, if their parents just idk, died. and i feel like, that in a scenario, where chris’s kids are still alive, things could have been somewhat ‘chill’. at least as far as it possible. but with them gone, well….yeah. i always felt like kaylee and caleb were kinda the glue, that held both travis and chris mental states somewhat together. but in better universe, without hackett patriarch and matriarch, yeah, thing might have gone somewhat well. i do believe, that kyalee and caleb could have made chris and travis be less bitter about things and each other. and ryan being latest addition to the family would get accepted just fine. like, travis cannot even be a bitch about chris having a romantic relationships with ryan, bc he himself prefers younger women lol. 

and no worries! i love your rambles and i ended up rambling myself a lot, haha. and i really love hearing your thoughts tbh. or hear fluff set-ups, bc i actually very bad at fluff myself. i also rarely write smth like that, so it's always interesting to see the what could have been, but in more lighter, cheery tone. thank you for the message, they always make my day better! hope, you have a swell time as well!

ohmigosh, your sims are all adorable!! and i love their stories so much :) i used to lovingly tolerate 3 bc i had a pretty low-spec computer so it was very laggy, but now i have an actual gaming laptop and 3 isn't compatible anymore, so i play 4 all the time. i've also got a ton of mods (99% clothing and hair bc i'm addicted to dressing my sims up), including the ones you mentioned - they're such a big help when it comes to gameplay, i love them <3

thank you!! <33 haha yeah i remember sims 3 was SO laggy and took like 20 minutes for me to boot up every time, i still have a subconscious mindset of "okay, once i load up sims i can't exit out of the game until i'm fully 100% done playing for the day because it's not worth trying to load it twice in one day" even though 4 only takes a couple minutes to load. and i totally feel you, dressing my sims up is one of my top favorite parts of the game, and there's so much amazing cc out there!

oh, i just realised i forgot to answer your question: i'm an aging on simmer, but i think i might turn it off bc i too prefer just starting up new households rather than going through generations. i am very much an autonomy off girlie, though; i tried leaving it on, but the control freak in me likes micromanagement too much 😅 this is my last one, i promise: can you tell me if having autonomy on makes storytelling more interesting? i pick a bunch of traits that should make my sims more/less compatible, but for some reason they don't react to things the way i want them to (then again some of the traits are modded ones rather than base game ones so that might be partly the reason, they don't always seem to have an effect on sim behaviour)

you should give aging off a shot to see how you like it! i like my current system of having aging off in one save file and aging on in a different one so i can have it both ways and do my legacy challenge properly without messing with my rotational freeplay households. when i have aging off i do still age up my sims using a birthday cake, but i just do it whenever i feel like they're ready for the next life stage rather than the game having a set day that's their birthday. so it can get kinda weird if my sim is going to high school with the same teens her mom went to high school with because i aged their household up manually but everyone else is immortal djkfg but i don't usually last more than 2 generations in a single family so for me it's not much of an issue!

and i SO know what you mean about liking micromanagement too much haha i definitely still micromanage my sims even with autonomy on! so in that respect it can be challenging if you're constantly trying to stop them from doing things you don't want them to do. i like it especially for large households because if i can't keep track of everybody, having autonomy on will make them eat on their own when they get hungry etc whereas i believe if it's off they'll just die unless i specifically tell them to eat. as for whether it makes storytelling more interesting, yes and no, i also feel like traits don't have a huge effect on storytelling and autonomy on doesn't really change that too much, i don't think (besides a couple, like goofball sims keep trying to prank toilets with autonomy on, romantic sims are more likely to autonomously flirt, and i'm guessing mean or evil sims would keep being autonomously mean, but i never make mean or evil sims because i'm too soft haha).

i think social interactions are the area where autonomy on most spices up gameplay because your sim might randomly flirt with or be mean to someone you didn't expect them to (especially if they're in certain moods, being in a flirty mood makes them extra likely to autonomously flirt with someone and being in an angry mood makes them extra likely to autonomously be mean). this can be a fun way to throw in some curveballs, or it can also be infuriating if your sim decides to flirt with some rando right in front of their spouse and now the whole marriage is in shambles djkfg i would say if you're thinking of testing out autonomy on, maybe give it a go with a 1-2 sim household to start so that you can get a sense for what autonomy on is like, but it's a small enough household that it's easy to keep an eye on everybody and prevent them from going too off the rails!

Your unusual choice has always left your boyfriend baffled but he never opposed it.

So when he came home one evening to be welcomed by your bright smile and your new tarantula terrarium in hand, he stopped for a second to take in the view before him.

You looked so excited and he found you so cute and weird that he couldn't help but walk up to you and kiss your temple.

You spent the night getting to know your new family member and you told Shouto everything there is to know about tarantulas and especially how to take care of them and how to clean their terrarium.

He loved how passionate and knowledgeable you were about the subject, and couldn't get enough of watching you talking enthusiastically.

You even talked about what you should name it. He suggested "Legs" and you suggested "Crawler" and in the end you both landed on "Octa".

Your favorite thing is to watch Shouto following your written instructions whenever it's his turn to clean the terrarium.

He would never admit it, but your tarantula has always freaked him out. So when you finally decided to move in together, his concern turned into a nightmare.

He couldn't wait to be living with you under the same roof but he didn't want you to bring your tarantula. And he knew it was selfish of him to be feeling that way, but he just couldn't help it.

You noticed the change in his behavior and assumed the worst. You thought that maybe he regretted the idea of living together, so you had to ask him.

He felt really bad for worrying you and decided to finally tell you the truth and apologize afterwards as he expected you to be mad. But you weren't.

You simply smiled and kissed his nose leaving him as confused as ever.

You understand quite well that your choice of pets isn't for everyone, and it's only fair for your boyfriend to be comfortable with it since you're moving in together. So you sat him down and explained everything there is to know about your little "Octa".

You told him that it's shy and docile, and is honestly more afraid of people than they are of it, and that's something all purple tree tarantulas have in common.

It took a while to convince him, and you didn't want to force him to accept it. You actually thought about putting it for adoption, which hurts obviously, but it was the only thing you could think of.

Luckily, Denki came around in the end albeit reluctantly, so you met him halfway and promised to never take it out of its terrarium unless he's not home, and to keep it in the guest room so he wouldn't have to see it all the time. He was quite happy with the arrangements.

Ochaco :

When you first started going out together, and getting to know each other, you told her about "Octa" your purple tree tarantula, half expecting her to freak out.

Her reaction was the last thing you expected. She got so thrilled and asked you if it was alright for her to see it, to which you happily agreed.

It was so cute watching her bright eyes and excited face as she kept asking you all kinds of questions about how to take care of it, and what to feed it.

And now that you guys are living together, "Octa" is basically your child. You take rounds cleaning its terrarium and feeding it.

And it's so endearing to watch Ochaco using a small voice when talking to "Octa". You can never get enough of that.

You even thought about getting a new one to expand your unusual but happy family.

She jumped in your arms and kissed you all over the face when you suggested that she should name the second one.

When you two first became a couple, you didn't think that your purple pink toe tarantula "Octa" would be an issue. You didn't even feel the need to mention it because it didn't sound like a big deal at the time. Boy were you wrong!

It all happened when you invited Momo for dinner at your place one evening, and she walked in to the sight of the terrarium in the middle of the living room.

She froze for a second before hiding behind you in fear. And you understood exactly what freaked her out.

You apologized leading her to the dining room and went back running to take "Octa" to your bedroom.

She was blushing when you got back to her, and it was cute but you needed to calm her down so you gave her a glass of water and rubbed her back reassuringly.

Bakugo :

He's never been big on pets, no matter the species, so when he learned that you got a tarantula he just stared at you as if you were insane.

You tried to convince him to come and see it, and for the longest time, the only response you got was: "No thanks, not interested."

It made you feel bad especially that you two were planning on moving in together in his apartment.

Which is why you were afraid he would make you get rid of it, and he would if he wants to, no questions asked.

So one evening when you were supposed to have dinner at his place, you showed up with the tarantula terrarium with you, praying he wouldn't snap at you.

He didn't, he said nothing and acted same as usual. But you were never at ease because you expected the worst.

You had to finally ask him: "Katsuki what do you think? You never said anything about Octa." He blinked hearing the name you picked for your pet and couldn't help the smile creeping up his face.

His reaction gave you hope but you had to make sure first: "Can I keep it after moving in here? Is that okay?" This time his smile disappeared, but for a whole different reason than you thought: "Why are you asking my permission for that dumbass? This is going to be our home so do whatever the hell you want to. Don't ask for my approval idiot."

It was so sweet, even if it didn't sound like it. And out of excitement, you said that Octa would be like a child to you both.. this was when he snapped: "What the hell y/n! I don't want a spider to be my child! One day you and I will have a brat of our own." He blushed afterwards realizing it was the first time something like that was brought up.

Kirishima :

When you told him you were getting a pet, he expected something like a puppy or a kitten or even a hamster, but when he came home to find a purple tree tarantula, all words left his mouth.

It didn't matter though, since that thing brought the most amazing smile to your face. So no matter how much he didn't care for it, he was more than happy to put up with it for your sake. And those were his exact words.

That didn't make you feel good though, you didn't want to force anything on him. So instead you decided to teach him a little bit about this beautiful creature and perhaps -with a little luck- he'll come to like it.

You told him that the purple tree tarantula isn't venomous and has a very sweet and docile personality. You even took it out of its terrarium to prove your point.

He was skeptical but wanted to make an effort for you. And that made you happier than you could explain.

And it was all worth it. Seeing you excitedly taking care of it was the most precious thing to him.

He even asked you to find a name for your newly added family member, to which you enthusiastically replied: "Octa! What do you think? Do you like it? If you don't we'll think of something else."

"I love it sweetheart, but I love you much more." That was his response before locking his lips with yours.

Mina :

You and Mina have been living with each other for a while before she suggested getting a pet to raise together.

You loved the idea obviously and were so excited to watch your little family grow.

You talked a little about what to get. She suggested either a bunny or a puppy, and asked you what you wanted.

Your preference was a little unconventional, which is why you were a bit shy when you suggested a purple pink toe tarantula.

Her reaction was simply precious. She jumped on top of you and showered your face with kisses, and you were a little confused at first but enjoyed her touches.

You wasted no time and went the next day to the pet store to pick up your new baby together.

Mina had little to no information on how to take care of a tarantula, so you taught her step by step and watched her learn.

It was a while before you two decided to name your new pet. Mina wanted you to do it, that's how much she adores you.

Obviously... at the top of the not sharing food list, Monoma immediately popped into my head... however I think it's a little weird with him because he doesn't really like sharing, but does it to be possessive.

I think Iida is happy to share food, but probably is into the whole having separate utensils/straws for a really long time. It's not really that he doesn't want you to use his or vice versa, but he's just so quick with the, "Oh, let me get you a clean spoon/put some on your plate!!!" before you even have a chance to worry about it. I think this changes if you're like... married to him, though. Then he doesn't care.

Dabi, on the other hand, probably doesn't care about sharing silverware but gets stingy with the food itself. He'd be happy to share if he had an abundance of it, but since he's a picky eater and he doesn't... it's like, sure you can have a sip from his milkshake! But only one (this rule doesn't work in reverse though. He likes taking your food).

And Shigaraki... idk. He definitely has problems sharing but it's less about the actual sharing and more about the act being weird to him. I think he doesn't mind, but is like... "why do you even want to share with me? Just get your own, it's right there," (meaning: you can have however much you want but there's not even enough on my plate). Poor guy </3

I also think... Shinso probably doesn't mind either thing, really... but probably doesn't think of it for a long time after you start dating. He isn't even trying to be mean, but like... he doesn't really cook, so, there's probably a period where he just like doesn't offer you his food out of habit. Neither thing bothers him once he realizes, though.

And similarly, Aizawa... who couldn't give a damn about germs but barely even eats unless it's needed, so... it's not you, it's him. Will take bites of your food with your fork, though. When he makes himself something just for him, it's like, "you don't want this. I promise." He's right.

Staying with a bunch of friends and hiding the fact that you're half-cat isn't easy. Thankfully your ears could be hidden under a hat and your tail could be hidden under your shirt or in your pants, though that wasn't the problem. A couple of the boys had a tendency to be clingy and you had to share a room with Sapnap, which you didn't mind but it made everything much harder.

Originally you had agreed without thinking, wanting to hang out with your friends and have fun. It wasn't until later that you had remembered about your ears and tail, and how it would be very difficult to avoid accidentally revealing them. You were too chicken to back out though as you didn't have any good excuses and didn't want your friends to think less of you.

Though now that you thought about it, they would probably think less of you if they found out. It was too late to turn back now though, as you were already there. Thankfully Sapnap had already left the room so you were able to get dressed without an issue, after which you would join the others for breakfast.

What you didn't expect was for Sapnap to come barging into the room when you're ears and tail were out.

"How many pancakes do you–" His words cut off as he saw you. Your hands immediately raced towards your head, covering your ears on instinct, your tail hiding behind your back. Sapnap didn't say anything, he just stepped in and closed the door.

"I won't tell anyone, I promise." You were still a little unsure but decided that he had already seen them so there was no further damage to be done. Dejectedly you dropped your hands, your dropped ears were uncovered and your tail now hung between your legs.

You stood there ashamed of yourself, for getting caught and for existing. Sapnap on the other hand found you interesting, he had heard about people who were human and part animal but had never seen one in person before. With hesitant steps he moved closer, eyes staying fixed on your ears.

"Are they real?" You only nodded, keeping your head and gaze cast downwards, you would do anything to be anywhere but here.

"Can I touch them?" His question caught you by surprise, your animal traits rising to mimic your expression.

"You want to touch them? You don't think it's disgusting or weird?" Sapnap shook his head.

"No way, I think it's cool as hell. I've always heard stories about people who were part animal but I've never seen one before." His hand gently reached for your ear, petting the soft fur. The affection felt nice but it was interrupted by a knock at the door.

"Hey what's taking so long, are you two making out or something?" You nervously looked at Sapnap, afraid he would expose your secret.

"Just a sec, (Y/n) needed my help with something. Don't worry, I won't tell them, your secret is safe with me." Sapnap patted you on the head before heading out the door, closing it behind him.

"Sorry he just needs another minute, he couldn't find his clothes. He said he wants two pancakes though." Sapnap's voice grew fainter as he walked off.

You hurriedly got dressed, covering up your cat features. Meeting the others at the kitchen table you sat down just in time for food to be served.

"Thanks, Quackity." All six of you sat at the table, talking about plans for the day. Everyone had gotten here yesterday so you were all taking today to relax and hang out.

There were a few knocks and voices coming from the other side of the door but you couldn’t concentrate on any of it. They had all seen your ears, they all knew what kind of freak you are, they all hate you.

You were so caught up in your negative thoughts that you didn’t even realize that they had gotten into the room, via Sapnap’s key, and were talking to you until someone placed their hand on your shoulder.

Crawling back to reality you found yourself face to face with Dream who looked concerned and nervous.

“(Y/n), hey. Can you hear me?” You nodded at his words, looking behind him at all the nervous faces. The sudden attention made you fearful once more, tears brimming your eyes before escaping down your cheeks. They all knew.

“Hey hey, it’s ok. They don’t think any different of you. Remember what I said earlier?” You thought back to this morning when Sapnap had first found out, he had said it was cool. Once more caught up in your thoughts you nearly failed to recognize the feeling of someone’s hand on your head, gently petting your ears.

The calming sensation had you emitting a purring noise, the feeling of comfort slowing your tears.

“He really is like a cat, how cute.” You were quickly surrounded by your friends, all wanting to pet you and all saying different things about your cat features. All positive things.

“You guys don’t think I’m weird for being, whatever I am?”

“Not at all, you’re totally rad dude.”

“Yeah, I wish I was part animal, that would be so cool.” You smiled at the compliments, finally starting to feel good about yourself.

“See, I told you that it was cool!” You laughed at Sapnap, he was right after all.

oh no, hooty feels unimportant! i’m sure the large majority of the fandom is okay with this, but i’m not! poor thing.

i found it adorable that luz wants to find a way into amity's heart (even though she's had a place there since grom). how she would use the echo mouse for that, i don't know.

luz saying "we have to go" was almost a direct parallel to amity saying "I GOTTA GO" in "wing it like witches".

king's plot

i love how king is going through his angsty teen phase. that's hilarious.

why the fuck does hooty just eat people?! and then just act like that's an okay thing to do?!

i think it's a fun detail that hooty is wearing king's teacher hat from "the intruder". i love little things like that.

i like how this episode gave us some lore as to how demons on the isles work. they emerged from the muck of a decomposing titan? that's dope! it's also cool how there's three main types of demons.

hooty is a worm?!

on the board with all the bug demons, i recognized the butterfly alador kept chasing in "escaping expulsion", as well as adagast from "witches before wizards", the bear trap demon from "the intruder", and the kindergarten teacher from "i was a teenage abomination".

it was neat to see the fairy from "a lying witch and a warden" and the butterfly... thing from "witches before wizards". more neat continuity stuff!

what did king say with his dance? i'm very curious.

maybe king didn't want to talk about the cocoon, but i certainly do! what the hell happened?!

because of some of the images in the background when hooty was talking about demons, we can infer that some students of hexside are demons and not witches. i wonder if witches are more powerful than demons, or if they're on the same level.

other biped demons i recognize are the bounty hunter, tibbles, one of the pirates, warden wrath, and braxus.

i also saw a cat-person. are catgirls and catboys a thing on the isles?

i like how tiny nose and hooty are friends. somehow, it makes sense.

was tiny nose playing on a nintendo switch? that's cool.

we got to see even more past demons from the section about beasts, such as the ratworms, the echo mouse, the trash slug, the selikdomus, the slitherbeast, and the snaggleback.

has tiny nose's voice changed, or is that just me?

i'm really curious as to what the heck king is. is he a unique kind of demon? a hybrid, maybe?

i thought it was sweet that hooty and tiny nose tried to celebrate king for who he is, even though it just made him sad. they're trying.

eda's plot

hooty had a good point in wanting eda to sleep. sleep is important! says the guy who regularly stays up until at least midnight.

i completely understand hooty's fear of the owl beast. remember what happened last time?

the cookies hooty made were very cute. i loved that.

hey, the sleeping nettles are back! the same thing luz and hunter used a few episodes back to put kikimora's steed to sleep.

we got to see eda's dad! we know very little about him, but we did see him. also, did he look like nigel thornberry to anyone else? no? just me? okay then.

it broke my heart seeing raine and eda breaking up. it was neat that we got confirmation that they were together!

eda clearly regrets pushing raine away. poor thing.

who is the cloaked figure? i've seen a lot of theories that it's amity, but that makes no sense. i don't think she was even alive at this point. it could be odalia, though. that would be a cool twist.

the little owl beast was so cute. i want a plush of that.

luz (and amity)'s plot

you better bet your ass i have a lot to say about this! plot! okay, let's start from the beginning.

i was really hoping we would get some mutual pining lumity this season, and by god did it deliver! luz referring to her as a "cotton-candy-haired goddess" was too cute.

from what she said, it sounds like this isn't the first time luz has tried to ask someone out. she's so afraid of getting rejected. wait a minute, amity was afraid of getting rejected too! that's a parallel i didn't even realize!

i wasn't expecting to see amity this episode! it looks like her parents let her keep her purple hair. that, or the twins are using illusions to hide her hair from their parents.

i love how hooty's solution to getting amity to the owl house is to straight-up eat her. that's one way to do things.

i really want to know more about house demons. are there more than one? are they all bird-like? are they born as houses or do they just inhabit houses? so many questions and not enough lore!

the way luz interrupted amity when she suggested "forgetting" about what happened in front of blight manor reminded me of how eda kept interrupting king last episode when she thought he was going to tell her he was planning on leaving.

i'm not gonna lie, i skipped through the majority of the tunnel of love scene. that kind of thing gives me second-hand embarrassment like you wouldn't believe.

my heart shattered into pieces when amity said that the idea of her adting luz was stupid. she obviously doesn't believe it, but she's probably been trying to convince herself of it.

this part had me terrified that the lumity plot for the episode would end there. thank goodness it didn't, eh?

the ending

okay, okay, let's start from when hooty freaks out for a third time, after the tunnel of love.

i thought it was funny how hooty ripped himself out of the door in order to run (?) away. at least we didn't have to hear all the sounds this time.

wait, "things always get weird when hooty's upset"? has this kind of thing happened before?

gosh, the part where king's voice powers saved luz and amity was so cool. i saw somewhere that the animator wanted to reflect the lesbian and bi flags and they did a great job.

eda encouraging luz to ask amity out was so cute. we stan a supportive mom, always.

and then comes the scene everyone's been talking about. oh my gosh, this was done so beautifully! it was equally awkward and cute, the way it should have been, and the fact that they both asked each other was perfect!

LOOK AT HOW HAPPY AMITY IS WHEN SHE SAYS YES!!! this is the happiest we have ever seen her, and it's adorable.

something i really love about this scene is the fact that they didn't say "i love you" or even kiss, like what seems to happen in a lot of confession scenes. they just held hands. it was probably one of the most realistic confession scenes i've ever seen. it kind of reminded me of when my gf and i got together.

oh yeah, that's right! they're officially together!!!!!!! FINALLY!!! i was not expecting anything that happened in this episode, but out of everything this one was the most surprising. holy SHIT! we have a canonically sapphic couple! in a disney cartoon! a disney cartoon!

honestly, i hope everyone has gained more respect for hooty after this. they've helped further the plot more in one episode than anyone else has done throughout the rest of the show.

we got to see king's dad properly for the first time! i don't think we'll see him in "eclipse lake", but maybe we will in the episode after that? i hope so.

everyone's freaking out about hooty eating the letter but... can't they just... throw it back up? like they did at the beginning of "really small problems"?

to my knowledge, the next episode is going to be about amity looking for an ingredient for the new portal. i also know that eda, king, and hunter will be there too. i don't know what to expect, but i am very excited. until next time!

TUA AU, this time for season 2 Tommy and Sam!

So. Tommy just got yeeted into the future after having a rather fiery breakdown. That happened.

And he doesn't remember much. He doesn't know where he is, how he got there, or why he feels so alone, like there's somebody - multiple sombodies - who should be here but aren't and it's freaking him out. All he remembers is burning, everything burning, before somebody else is there, telling him everything is going to be okay. He doesn't know who they are, but he thinks it was someone he loved.

(He also remembers a man in green and a mask that makes his breath go shaky, but not exactly why.)

And then you've got Sam. Sam, who lives alone with his dog Fran, is probably driving home after work, when he sees this kid on the side of the road, no adult in sight, nothing but his clothes on his back, probably homeless or a runaway, looks about two seconds away from a panic attack, and- well, what is Sam supposed to do? Just leave him there?

So he goes up to the kid, who nearly jumps out his skin, and after about two minutes of conversation it becomes clear that oh yeah, this kid is definitely not okay. Sam manages to catch his name, before his concern skyrockets as Tommy promptly collapses into his arms because he's had a long fucking day, alright?

Well. It's good thing Sam has that guest room he never uses.

So he brings Tommy home, waits for him to wake up, asks him some questions over breakfast, like where are your parents? What happened to you? Do you have anywhere to go? It's when Tommy gives a quiet no or I don't know that Sam promptly decides "okay, you're staying with me"

It's rough going for the first few weeks. Tommy isn't about to dash out the door like he first did when he woke up, but he doesn't exactly trust Sam either. Meanwhile Sam may not know about the superpowers, or the apocalypse or time travel, but he does manage to gather that this kid must have been through some serious shit. And a lot of his reactions and comments point towards having a not-so-good caregiver in the past, so he does his best to be patient, understanding, give Tommy his space and make sure he knows he doesn't owe Sam anything.

Things slowly get better. Tommy gets acquainted with Fran, who is good at calming him down when Sam can't, especially after nightmares. As the weeks go on, more and more of Tommy's memories trickle in, and Sam helps him deal with that. Tommy tells him he thinks he did some bad things in the past, and Sam tells him he doesn't think Tommy is a bad person, and that it's what he does now that matters, not the past.

A couple of weeks turn into a couple of months, and things are good. Tommy smiles more easily, trusts more easily, is less tense and wary, and Sam will admit that it's nice to have such a vibrant presence in the previously empty house. Maybe Tommy tentatively starts to experiment with his powers in private, getting better control, learning exactly what he can do. Maybe he even remembers that he had a family, that maybe they're out there somewhere. Things are good.

Except one day, things are not so good. Tommy's walking home from doing some errands, when he gets held up by this weird cat-like guy, who keeps asking him questions and is in general getting way too close for comfort. Tommy manages to lose him, and brushes it off. Guy was probably just a conman, or high, or a really creepy salesman. Then he gets home, and Sam is worried, tells him that earlier two guys came by - white hoodie and a guy who refuses to swear - asking a bunch of questions, trying to invite themselves in, and most concerning - they were asking for Tommy specifically.

That is... unnerving, but not necessarily cause for alarm. What harm could they really do? Then next day, the guys come by again, and they're a lot more persistent, keep trying to convince Tommy to come with them, that they can help him, they can bring him to his fanily, and Sam is really not liking the vibe he gets from these guys, and long story short a scuffle breaks out. Tommy uses his powers to scare the guys off, but not before Sam gets injured. Not majorly, but still.

Sam is understandably spooked, especially as it slowly dawns on him he might have bitten off more than he can chew- but no, he's not going to leave Tommy, he promised, he can't. They go to a hotel to stay the night, just in case.

Tommy, meanwhile, is spiraling hard. Because there are people after him, who apparently know about him and what he can do, about his family, and he may not know exactly what they want but it can't be anything good. And they're coming after him, after Sam, and Sam got hurt, Sam got hurt trying to protect him, Sam got hurt because of him, just like everyone else-

Tommy refuses to let people get hurt because of him anymore.

So, quietly in the middle of the night, he writes a note, telling Sam he's sorry, he shouldn't have to deal with, with Tommy, he shouldn't have to get hurt because there are more people out there who want to use Tommy's powers, that it's not his job to protect him. He tells Sam thank you, for everything, for the past few months that have been the best his life, that he doesn't know how to repay him and he'll never forget, and he tells Sam not to look for him, to stay away, for his safety and Tommy's peace of mind. He tells Sam goodbye, then he quietly slips outside, jumps on bus or a train, and walks away from the only stable caregiver he's had in years.

Sam wakes up, reads the note, and promptly decides fuck that, Tommy is a kid, he's Sam's kid, and Sam will be damned before he lets him be alone, because he made a promise to keep Tommy safe and he is damn well going to keep it. So him and Fran jump in the car, and set off for the nearest town.

(And maybe while he's there, he meets a blonde man who also seems to be worried about his kids, so...

Sam: Hey, have you seen a tall, skittish blonde teenager? Curses a lot, about 6' 1", kind of a smart-ass?

Phil:

Phil: Tell me everything you know right now.)

Meanwhile, Tommy is walking down the street of some unknown city, oblivious to the pink-haired vigilante that does a double take when he sees him, disbelief all across his face.

It’s found family your honor. It’s Sam and Tommy bonding and becoming a family and oh god that’s giving me so many feelings and then Tommy leaves because he thinks he’s a danger to Sam and oh man. This hurts.

On the bright side though, we have everything coming together and we have the plot just slowly converge together and that’s great.
