Fucking Ice Skating? - Ransom Drysdale x beautiful!reader (Always Meant To Be... oneshot)

Warnings: 18+, swearing, implied smut mention of lube, Ransom being subby, use of Hugh, baby Ransom

Ransom stood with his arms folded as he glared over at the ice rink as if it had offended him in some way. He was not happy with your choice for date night. 'Fucking ice skating?' had been his words when you excitedly told him what you had planned for the two of you.

It had sort of become a tradition for the two of you; every third Saturday of the month you'd have date night, taking it in turns to pick what you would do.

Last month Ransom picked going out to a night club, something the two of you hadn't done for a while. Ransom even baught you a new outfit out for the occasion, something that barely covered your ass and made 'the ladies pop' as he said.

"Here you go, Ran." You smiled as you handed a pair of skates to him.

Ransom scrunched his nose up as he peered into them. "These are used."

You nodded. "Of course they are."

Ransom raised his eyebrow, "Why?"

You frowned. Was he serious? "'Cause they're rented, Ransom. Other people use them too."

Ransom's eyes widened. "That's fucking disgusting!" He spat and dropped the skates onto the floor.

You rolled your eyes at him. "Oh for heavens sake." You bent down and picked them up. "Stop being a child and out them on." You said as you shoved them into his chest.

"No way. I don't want no foot fungus shit."

"They get cleaned after each use." You huffed and walked around him. "Put them on and be a good boy or you don't get to enjoy the rest of the date."

Ransom rolled his eyes, "Falling on my ass in someone else's skates doesn't sound enjoyable."

You shook your head with a smirk. "I meant the stuff we were going to be doing in the bedroom, Ransom." You sat down on a bench to put your skates on.

Ransom's eyes lit up, "What stuff?" He asked as he stepped closer to you.

"Stuff you're not going to get to enjoy if you're a bad boy, Hugh." You looked up at him with devious smirk making Ransom's dick twitch.

Ransom silently weighed up his options as he looked down at the skates in his hands. An hour of wearing someone else's skates for hours of you being naked and moaning. "Fine." He huffed. You raised your eyebrow at him making him clear his throat. "I mean... I'll behave... Sounds fun."

Ransom was not having fun and you could tell. He wasn't a natural on the ice by any means, more like Bambi. You tried not to laugh every time he ended up on his ass but seeing Ransom's feet go from under him and almost end up by his head was just far too funny.

"Take it slow, Ransom." You encouraged him as you held his hand. "No need to rush."

Ransom huffed as another couple flew past you. "I look ridiculous!" He pouted.

You shook your head. "No you don't... Besides," You stood in front of him and wrapped your arms around his waist. "Just think, when we get home, I can kiss all your boo-boos." You teased him and kissed his chin.

Ransom began smirking to himself. "I do have a lot... Some in quite hard to reach places." He leaned down and connected his lips with yours.

You don't know what happened, one minute you were lost in the kiss and the next Ransom was falling to the floor and taking you with him.

You laid between his legs your upper body on stomach as Ransom laid still, letting out a deep sigh. "Ran?" You bit the inside of your cheek trying not to laugh.

"I think I broke my ass." He grunted.

You snickered to yourself as you pushed yourself up and dusted yourself off. "Oh no... Does that mean you don't want me to do that thing you've been wanting me to do?" You asked with a raised eyebrow as you looked down at him with your hands on your hips.

Ransom's head shot up. "You serious?"

You nodded smirking.

You began laughing as Ransom quickly got up off the ice, taking your hand in his and dragged you (on wobbly legs) off the ice.

"Where are we going?" You asked him with a giggle.

"We need more lube." He sent you a wink over his shoulder making you laugh even more.

the thing about latinoamérica is that it's the most beautiful wonderful place on earth. there's a spinal cord of mountains running through, and at their feet you have everything from deserts to forests to jungles to glaciers. the lungs of the world are here, and so are the eyes into the sky. there are animals like axolotls and vicuñas and llamas and condors and jaguars. and the people are the most clever, the most resilient people in the world. you have cultures that are thousands of years old that have been resisting colonization for hundreds of years and in several cases successfully fighting back and even gaining territory. you have people who have lost their loved ones decades and decades ago who are still fighting for justice. you have a rich history of solidarity and struggle and you can sit with people in a circle passing a mate around and they will tell you of all the times they put everything on the line for a better world. there is an entire island that inspired revolutions around the world and that has been resisting a blockade for 60 years. there are communities building autonomous, revolutionary structures right now. and really it's not a surprise that there's so much grit and strength here because it would be inconceivable to be born and to live in this beautiful place without fighting for it.

Four weeks of fun!

Ransom and Beautiful spend four weeks together. Completely alone. No Harlan. No Linda. No Walt. No cares, no worries and preferably no clothes. Let's follow them on a mini adventure and see where things go. What plans has Ransom got up his sleeves?

I firmly believe that Kabru is autistic but masks so hard that he’s convinced himself and (almost) everyone around him that he’s neurotypical.

That man’s special interest is people and how they work, but he just thinks it’s him Being So Good At Socializing — like he doesn’t spend 95% of his time people watching and adjusting his personality in response to the traits he witnesses and obsessing over the intricacies of human interaction while mapping an ever growing relationship chart in his head. For fun. He even admits it in the manga!

Like, look at him!!!

It’s such a shame that — because he’s the narrative foil to Laios and his interest is generally considered more “socially acceptable” in both their world and our own — more people don’t realize this about him. He’s constantly misinterpreted as a horribly manipulative person who only acts the way he does to use the people around him, when that’s explicitly shown to not be the case at all. Kabru is naturally empathetic and is almost always thinking about other people, regardless of whether or not they’re right there with him or a thousand miles away.

I mean, his most defining motivation is his desire to do everything he can to avoid another tragedy like the one at Utaya. Someone who doesn’t care wouldn’t have a goal like that, and they most certainly wouldn’t go about it the way he does. He’s constantly working to help people who can help everyone else and tries so hard to make sure that anyone who seems like a threat is actually someone he needs to worry about before doing anything about it. His supposed aversion to Laios is only because of the ridiculous trolley problem he’s set up in his own head.

Outside of that, he (rather justifiably) hates monsters but is desperate to understand Laios’ love for them and his apparently most selfish goal in getting close to the guy was literally just to become friends with him.

When he’s interacting with the canaries and they imply that they’re going to take him and all of his friends to the West, his first thought is of Rin and how much she’d hate to be stuck in the place that gave her so many bad memories.

He helps Kuro learn Common when Mickbell is asleep and firmly looks forward to the day that the half-foot and Kuro can communicate properly so that their relationship can get properly started without any miscommunication.

And he understands Mithrun with only a handful of weeks AT BEST interacting with him, getting enraged when the elf seems to give up and immediately trying to help him find a new motivation for life.

I’m excited just thinking about the day that Kabru starts unmasking more and more around his friends — both new and old — because if being with my current friend group has taught me anything, it’s that hanging out with anyone so unabashedly themselves is bound to make you more comfortable with yourself too. It’s part of the reason why I like Labru so much! There’s something nice about imagining them hanging out in the throne room or laying in the grass outside and talking for hours on end about their special interests. They might not strictly understand what the other finds so fascinating about monsters or people, but they can grasp that shared feeling of love.

They probably influence each other in really good ways too, with Kabru helping Laios figure out what people are thinking even when it doesn’t make sense or Laios helping Kabru understand that not everyone and everything needs to be analyzed a thousand times over. They both get to learn that there are people like them and people who will love them without them ever having to change a thing about themselves. They deserve to know that they’re fine the way they are.
