3, 9, 17 & 19 for the asks!
thank you for giving me an excuse to talk about fic, friend! okay, so:
3. Is there a fandom/ship you’d love to write for but haven’t?
Honestly, if I’d started writing earlier I think I maybe would’ve written for cophine? Maybe one day I will, if I do a rewatch. Orphan Black was the first show that like, made me feel safe? So maybe that, if I had more time on my hands. I briefly considered writing some agathario but I have to finish the show first lmfao 😂
Anyway, I think I’m very firmly a saffi writer for now (forever? idk). I’ve loved Seven basically my whole life, and I think Raffi is the best thing to happen to her and trek as a whole in a long ass time, and I’m very obsessed with them. Also the saffi discord is what/who ultimately made me feel comfortable and confident to write fic, so I’m very emotionally attached all around.
9. Which fic did you feel the most fulfilled/healed writing?
whatever a sun will always sing was probably the most fulfilling thing to write and post. That one hit me like a truck while watching voy and doing homework in uni, and i hammered it out in one day (wild for me). Like, the fact that Icheb and Seven bonded over star charts, and he told her to try star gazing, AND THEN NML HAPPENS?! And then the Stargazer in alpha canon? Statistically Significant Reoccurrence Of Stars methinks. Raffi is Seven’s Sun, her orbit revolves around Raffi, etc etc.
Or maybe with will to choose? That was my first murderboard hc where I was like, “this needs to happen and someone needs to do it and I guess that’s me.” I still deeply love the idea of Seven taking Raffi’s last name, and the implications of that tangible connection between them. I could talk about that forever. Maybe I’ll write more with that.
They’re both pretty early works for me (and having read it again I could make “With Will To Choose” a little more cohesive now), but I was/am really proud of those. They came pretty quickly and made me really feel like I’d done something cool with original ideas (as much as fanfic based on a show can be original, anyway).
that dear perfection (which she owes without that title) is probably the one that healed me — that and I'd Give Up Forever To Touch You. Because season three and the social media shitstorm the showrunner went on really put me through the wringer (though somehow I never caught a block — it’s my greatest fandom shame /j), at a time that many things in my life were doing the same. So writing those was a good detox and catharsis for me. Biiiig taking a hammer and fixing the canon energy. And since I’ve always really identified with Seven, taking time to give her the respect and the time with her gf (I remain a breakup denier) that she deserved (& that the show should have given her) made me feel a little better, too.
17. If you have any multi-chapters, what is your favourite chapter?
Oh god 😂
So I guess tell all the truth (but tell it slant) is the truest multi-chapter I have, and it haunts me daily that I haven’t finished it (fwiw, chapter 7 is supposed to be basically another sex scene and some domestic fluff. very short — and yet it remains incomplete, lmao). But I think I’m gonna go with the behemoth that is number 4, the 20k chapter. Absolute beast of a thing. Rare example of lighting striking in that I was extremely motivated AND I had time/energy/inspiration.
19. What are some of your favourite fic’s you’ve gifted to someone else?
(these are all nsfw because I am who I am 🤷🏼‍♀️)
Probably can’t keep my hands to myself, because it’s ridiculous and fun but takes itself a little seriously and I think has a little of everything — including good Seven characterization. I sometimes do my best work under threat of a deadline!
Plus, Raffi calling Seven “sweet girl” always gets me (and you too, lol).
seeped into my chest has to be here too because that one is so soft and I looooove me some hopeless-romantic-Seven. And superpowers-Seven. She’s a sweetheart but mostly she’s Raffi’s sweetheart, and I’m kinda obsessed with my hc that Seven can hear people’s heartbeats — and that she listens specifically for Raffi’s the way some people listen for their ship’s warp core white noise.
indentation in the shape of you is absolute fanservice and even more hopeless-romantic-Seven, and Rangers Seven, my beloved. And also has subspace phone sex, and string lights (not in space but still)!

All My Ships At Sea
My All Timers

Korrasami:
Tumblr media
Will never forget the moment after I watched the finale, just sitting in the dark, unable to believe I'd actually just seen what I'd just seen. Still get chills when I re-watch it.
Clexa
Tumblr media
We've all got our war stories from this one. But it wouldn't have hurt so bad if the highs weren't so high.
Sanvers
Tumblr media
This one ended up breaking my heart too, but I can't claim I didn't love the ride while it lasted, and one of the most meaningful coming out stories I've ever watched.
Cophine
Tumblr media
Two lovely human beings who are able to convey yearning as memorably as I've ever seen it done.
Goodfoe/Shoni
Tumblr media
It feels wrong to put them here when it's still so early. But I don't think I've felt this way about a ship since the heyday of Clexa
Harley/Ivy
Tumblr media
Already loved it in the comics, but the show made it something so real, I’m so pumped for season 3.

The Also Great
Hollstein
Tumblr media
This one is really, really close to being in the all time greats. I think maybe if I liked season 3 more they'd be in there....as it stands, they're probably the best of the rest....for now.
Nysara
Tumblr media
So, here's the thing. You wanna say Avalance is the better ship, I will not only not argue with you, I will agree with you. They have more development, more great moments, and I adore Ava Sharpe. But Nysara is always going to be the one for me. Nyssa the heartbroken lesbian is always going to be one hell of an image to me.
Catradora
Tumblr media
I have some issues with this one that I might get into later, but I also think they're two of the best characters in animation in the past decade, and seeing them together can't help but feel powerful.

Scorpia/Perfuma
Tumblr media
My only issue with this one is we didn’t get to see more of them
Amy/Hope
Tumblr media
I actually wish Booksmart had been a series so we could have gotten a proper slowburn between these two. Doesn't mean I didn't near swoon when they kissed. An all time great high school ship.
Nico/Karolina
Tumblr media
I haven't properly finished Runaways, so this probably more belongs in the category below. But what I have seen, I love.
Jenny/Vastra
Tumblr media
It's a lizard lady and her wife/maid fighting crime in Victorian England with katannas. I'm not above that.

Jamie/Dani
Tumblr media
Yes, I watched, and yes, I became a puddle.
Bubbline
Tumblr media
This one straddles the line between this category and the next, as I'm in and out with Adventure Time. But I've seen most of the important bits and I know I like what I see.
Haven’t Actually Watched The Show But I Still Ship Them Real Hard
Wayhaught:
Tumblr media
Confession, I’ve yet to actually watch a full episode. But I’ve seen pretty much every Wayhaught scene, plus enough of the rest to fall a little in love with Wynonna herself. Still. Sorry. But they’re all amazing
Cazzie:
Tumblr media
Again, only watched their parts, but I'm honestly not sure I've ever seen high school friends to lovers done better.
Curious Archer
Tumblr media
I bailed on OUAT before these two showed up, but I've watched every scene they were in, and it just makes me wish they'd somehow brought them in 3 seasons earlier. 15 minutes or so worth of screen time after 7 seasons isn't nearly enough, but it’s certainly something. And they’re so effing cute.
Root/Shaw
Tumblr media
This is a show I know I'd enjoy if I gave it a shot, but I just haven't sat down to yet, and now I've spoiled most of the final season for myself because I couldn't help but watch everything to do with these two.

 The Straights Jake And Amy
Tumblr media
I’ve come to have pretty mixed feelings about rooting for cops, but I’ll always think these two had one of the healthiest and most engaging sitcom relationships.
 Ray and Nora
Tumblr media
An adorable couple on and off screen that didn’t get enough time. These two getting such a raw deal is one of the things that’s zapped my enthusiasm from LOT
Gareth/Madelena
Tumblr media
Don't think a lot of folks watched Galavant, or there'd be more of it, but if you want to see the cutest villain ship I've ever seen, check it out.
Guilty Pleasures
Choni
Tumblr media
They fall short of being in my also greats for a couple reasons. One, I'm just   But the main one is the treatment of Toni as a character. She has no life outside of Cheryl, something the actress is made known she is not ok with, and using an actress of color to be a prop for a white girls story is something that needs to END.All that said....they're really fucking adorable, and I have a soft spot for "Ice Queen who shows a soft spot to her girlfriend".
Ruby Slippers
Tumblr media
This falls under guilty pleasure for the simple fact that it's rushed and doen't justify the buildup. It was supposed to be Mulan and Ruby, and everybody knows it, but instead we got rush job of a love story to throw a bone to the queer following.
That said....I kind of adore them. Maybe it hit me at a moment when i just needed something, maybe it's cause Ruby was always my favorite OUAT character, or maybe it's just cause Meghan Ory acted the hell out this episode, really selling that she's suddenly totally in love with a girl she's known for 3 minutes. It worked on me....but no one tell Disney. They're not allowed to feel good about this.
Anyway.....that’s my ships....you know, if you were wondering.

i’ve been seeing a few of your doctor who posts on my dash which motivated me to go watch eve of the daleks, thank you
BUT THEN i went to your blog to look for a post and realised there were *dozens* more posts than i’d seen on my dash and it seems like the posts not showing up on my dash are the ones tagged with ‘space girlfriends’??? wtf tumblr??? anyways i think i need to switch to using desktop
Omg yeah “space girlfriends” is my personal ship tag for thasmin!
I do that sometimes if I don’t want to use the portmanteau ship name for something lol. Like for Nico/Karolina in the runaways I used “rainbow witch” and for Cophine in orphan black I used “science girlfriends”.
Sorry about that, I didn’t realize tumblr would hide content with some weird criteria like that but then I probably expected too much of tumblr 😅😂

since people are pointedly only interacting with the post above and below my post about the protests in minneapolis, i will make something a little more targeted.  some of y’all need it to affect you personally or fit your aesthetic, so here we go.
cosima went to the university of minnesota in season 1.  that’s where she met delphine.  cophine were students at the u of m.  this, that happened last night?
Tumblr media
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/truck-driver-minneapolis-protesters-bogdan-vechirko-interstate-35w/
yeah that’s the exit that they would’ve taken to get home if they had been downtown.  which they probably were on that date to the wine bar in 1x07.  you know, this one?
Tumblr media
cophine canonically drove on this bridge.
i live in the area cosima most likely would have lived in based on the house they showed as her apartment in season 1.  there’s a ton of renovated mansions around the u of m in dinkytown.
literally everything is boarded up around here because people are afraid of white supremacists coming into our city to cause damage and seed hate against peaceful protesters.  i haven’t slept all week because i’m watching livestreams of police who are more likely to be domestic abusers than actually live in my city attack and brutalize my community.  i risked covid yesterday to go clean up a park and the independent businesses have vandalized their own stores to beg for mercy with “kids live upstairs, please don’t.”
Tumblr media
there’s a video game bar less than a mile from where George Floyd was murdered.  every college kid goes there at least once.  it feels so wrong to put these things in the same paragraph, but i would bet money that cosima and scott went there.
y’all love to talk about cosima’s dreads but forget that she’s white.  white ob fans, if you’re willing to overlook her cultural appropriation, you owe at least $5 dollars to any of these charities.  if that last sentence made you mad, that’s $10.
links and resources:
- unicorn riot is a non-profit media source that covers things like this as impartially as possible by doing their own on the ground coverage.  you can donate to them here: https://unicornriot.ninja/donate/
- https://venmo.com/femmeempowermentproject  is a group that provides funding for minneapolis activists, specifically medics and jail support
- the minnesota bail fund is just that.  they bail protesters out.  https://minnesotafreedomfund.org/donate they have had an overwhelming response and are asking that you donate to other places.  i will be checking back in a few days to make sure they are still good, and you should too
- https://www.reclaimtheblock.org/ is an organization that lobbies for defunding the police and putting their extra money into community programs that are needed.  (because i got shit on twitter i will expand that defunding is not abolishing.  they want no /new/ cops and are trying to get rid of overpolicing.  use your brain.)  they have a petition to sign and also accept donations.
- https://www.blackvisionsmn.org/  the black visions collective is a community organization that works towards "Black people have autonomy and safety is community-led."  they accept donations.
- https://www.migizi.org/support-us is a native run community center that was affected by the fires.
- http://welovelakestreet.com is a charity that is leading the effort to raise money and is organizing the restoration for when the protests are over.
- https://twitter.com/notsamiira/status/1266800128612016134 this is a thread of businesses owned by POC. this may overlap with lake street, but there are tons of other business not on lake that got hurt.  i would look for lyndale businesses bc they’ve been hit pretty hard too but nobody is talking about them as a collective unit yet.
- this is a kid trying to get gas masks to front line protesters.
Tumblr media
i’ve also been looking for gofundme’s on twitter of people who are doing food runs and providing water for protesters.  it’s simple, it’s easy.  there’s probably a ton more in your area because this shit’s gone international.
i got all my info from here https://blacklivesmatters.carrd.co/#donate and clicking around.  a lot of these organizations have social media pages that you can follow on twitter and facebook to stay active and informed even after this is over.
i’ve donated to all of these places because i have the means.  i’m on unemployment bc of covid and i only have to buy groceries for one and pay rent.  if you don’t please spread this around.  my city is burning.  a man is dead and his murderer and accomplices are walking free or being undercharged.
black lives matter and it’s about time minneapolis started fucking acting like it.

Scrapped Shooting Star Sonia Ideas
After over five years of work, the Shooting Star Sonia series is officially over.  Initially I had ideas for it to run a bit longer, but after experiencing some burnout while writing Red Joker I felt it would be best to wrap things up in Event Horizon.  Of course, once I get an idea I have a compulsive need to talk about it, so detailed here are my original plans for anyone who might be curious.
Event Horizon itself didn’t change all that much.  Information would still be provided about the MBN cores, though perhaps not quite everything; Sirius would have had the xarium rather than Blitzar, so there’d be no Rogue Xa yet and Solo would take the metal back at the end.  Naturally, the ending is where the biggest change occurred: originally, someone from Planet XM would express interest in continuing to have Sonia and friends test the Meteor Breaker Numbers, and give them one year to prepare before the experiments begin in earnest.  How ominous!  Everyone would realize they need to get stronger, and to facilitate that, Sonia would use the EM Compatibility Tuner to interface with the Rosetta Compiler, becoming the new Administrator of the Black Hole Server.
Next thing I wanted to do was actually a super short side story, the obligatory Boktai crossover.  More specifically Boktai DS/Lunar Knights, since that’s the one that did a crossover with SF1.  Though I never did get into Boktai proper, I always found it neat that Battle Network and Star Force had these ongoing crossovers, and I wanted to keep it going.  It was a very basic idea: Sabata ends up in the SF universe and gets possessed by an FM-ian (I believe I was thinking Vulpecula?), so Django follows and teams up with Sonia to stop him.  No one would be showing off their new powers here, it’d be too soon for that, but there’d probably be hints.
The main event would’ve been Shooting Star Sonia 4: Rosetta Orbit. (A Rosetta orbit occurs when an object is moving fast enough to not be sucked into a black hole, but not fast enough to entirely escape its pull.) A year has passed, and so Planet XM begins dispatching a series of Meteor Breaker Numbers for Sonia to fight.  I thought the major bosses all being on par with previous final bosses would be a cool way to raise the stakes, and I went with two themes when designing them: the seasons of the year, and other Mega Man series.  For instance, the first MBN to appear would have been Vernal Ronin, a skeletal samurai robot meant to evoke Mega Man Legends (it’d look Reaverbot-esque, it’d been observing the heroes from the moon for some time now) and spring (“vernal” means spring, samurai are associated with cherry blossoms which only bloom in spring).  I also wanted each MBN to be accompanied by an XM-ian who had some sort of reference to the Roll of the respective Mega Man series, though I had done less work on that. (Vernal Ronin would have been overseen by Cophin, an excitable engineer.)  The other MBNs were Estival Rampart (summer, ZX), Autumnal Specter (autumn, Zero), and Brumal Transgressor (winter, X), with a recurring boss in the form of an XM-ian named Aeim who fought by operating a separate entity named Solstice_Harbinger.XM (EXE).  Ultimately, the gang heads to Planet XM to find the newest MBN, the Equinox, which has been enhanced with all the data gathered over the course of the story and resembles the Yellow Devil from Classic.
On to transformations, Solo would obviously unveil Rogue Xa at this point, and I liked the idea of Geo working with the Sages of AM and WAZA to merge the Star Forces into a single, absurdly powerful form inspired visually by the unused concept art for an Angel Tribe On.  With Geo and Sonia no longer needing the Ace and Joker Programs, I thought it would make sense to pass them on--have Bud take the Joker Program and Luna take the Ace Program.  Sad to say I never got to the point of designing these forms, but I think it would’ve been fun.  Also, I was contemplating the idea of Zack operating Magnes similar to a Net Navi, probably also developing a way for him to enter a controlled version of his Spade Magnes form; I wanted him to be involved and this seemed like an easy way to do it.  There was also the possibility of Jack wanting to help and becoming a new iteration of Acid Ace, but I didn’t come to a decision on that.  Other than that...I think Shepar was also going to have a way to temporarily take on the form of Chalice Libra?  Everyone else was kind of on their own.
Now then, Sonia...as I said, she’d be drawing power from the Black Hole Server, which is powered by Adha. The last time she used this energy to transform was when she held the OOPArts, and I wanted to tie back into that. So, similarly to then, Sonia would draw on the Black Hole Server using the EM Compatibility Tuner, and then use the power of her Brother Bands to get it under control.  These forms, called Orbits, would change her appearance and abilities to be similar to the Wave Form of the specific Brother she’s calling on at the time, probably with some design elements from Sirius thrown in.  I wanted one for each element and was planning Luna Orbit, Bud Orbit, and Claude Orbit...but was at a loss for an Elec form. Since Gemini didn’t stick around I didn’t think giving her a Pat Orbit would be a good idea, and Couronne doesn’t have a Hunter and thus can’t make a formal Brother Band.  I could’ve ignored that restriction, or found a way to justify her Band with Zack giving her a Magnes-based form, but nothing was ever decided on. However, just like with the OOPArts, this power would have sometimes run wild, causing Sonia to enter a berserk state and forcing one of her allies to hit her with her elemental weakness to shock her out of the form.  For this reason, she would exclusively stick to forms that have elements...until the final boss.  The Equinox would adapt throughout the fight and develop ways to counter all four elements, so with no choice, Sonia would use Geo Orbit to get a form combining Mega Man’s powers with her own, defeating the Equinox and saving the day.  Then, she goes berserk.  Her friends would find a way to calm her down eventually, of course, but this would sort of make Sonia the true final boss and I thought that was kinda neat.
So, with the pinnacle of the MBN Program destroyed, the XM-ians would be kind of freaking out--here’s where we’d get the full story of the origin of the program, and how it was originally meant to protect Planet XM in case a certain angry god ever showed up.  Sonia being Sonia, she’d say that if anything happens, she’ll protect them.  The XM-ians are moved by her kindness, and decide that maybe they should stop building war machines after all.  After that, there were two more small things I wanted to do, either as two short stories (4.5 and 4.55, I think?) or as two Epilogues for RO.  Firstly, that thing Planet XM is so afraid of would show up, and what do you know, it’s Duo.EXE!  When I was planning for Red Joker I remembered how, leading up to SF3’s release, there were a bunch of theories that Meteor G had some connection to Duo, and I wanted to do something with that.  The ultimate story then (and this holds true to an extent for the final product as well) is that Duo’s violence in the name of “justice” only spread pain and fear, which led to the XM-ians developing the MBN cores to fight against him, which only led to more pain and fear through their own actions as well as through the cores ending up in others’ hands.  It’s an ongoing cycle of violence that is only broken when Sonia steps in to convince people to try a peaceful solution.  Capping it off with Sonia the idealist versus Duo the extremist, probably resulting in Sonia helping Duo to grow beyond his programming and be more productive than destructive, seemed like a fitting, fun way to go.  After that, I just wanted to have one last fight between Sonia and Solo--Geo Orbit Harp Note vs Rogue Xa in deep space to finally settle their rivalry!  I didn’t decide a result, but it definitely would’ve involved Solo properly opening up and telling Sonia he respects her and all that.
(Also a very specific joke I wanted to use in RO and couldn’t find a good place to integrate into this post: when the head of the MBN Program is explaining it to Sonia, she’d say they still have MBN-001 through 008 on display, but only have records for MBN-010 and up.  Sonia asks about MBN-009, and her guide scowls and says “We don’t talk about number 9.” You know, referencing the other Mega Man.)
(And, there is one other idea I had, a spin-off to shift to after resolving the history of the MBN cores, but it’s detached enough that I think I can turn it into a standalone story in the future so I want to hold onto it for now.  Probably best I take a break from writing Star Force for the time being, but I really like the character designs I thought up for this one, so one day, I hope to put them to use.)
Once again, I want to thank you all for your interest in Shooting Star Sonia--I hope I was able to entertain you! It was a bit rocky at times, but in the end, I’m glad I embarked on this journey, and I’m eager to get to work on a new one.  Until next time.

COPHINE
ULTIMATE SHIP MEME!
Tumblr media
@eruptiions & @xmarksthescott :  SEND IN TWO ( OR MORE ) NAMES AND I’LL FILL ALL THIS OUT ABOUT THE SHIP!
G E N E R A L :
Rate the Ship Awful | Ew | No pics pls | I’m not comfortable | Alright | I like it! | Got Pics? | Let’s do it! | Why is this not getting more attention?! | The OTP to rule all other OTPs
How long will they last ? Until the end of times.
How quickly did/will they fall in love ? Immediately. I think it was before they met. Delphine had studied Cosima’s file. She really found her intriguing, and more. But when they met, she knew. Enchanté. Obviously Cos felt the same when she saw her in the lab.
How was their first kiss ? Oh merde. Quick ? Delphine didn’t expect Cosima to make a pass on her, but at the same time she knew Cosima was gay before she kissed her. And she was playing flirty, even though it’s her being naturally like that, charming. But yeah, it still surprised her, and she wasn’t sure how to react.
W E D D I N G :
Who proposed ? Delphine.
Who is the best man/men ? Felix. And Delphine’s younger brother, Cedric.
Who is the braid’s maid(s) ? Sarah
Who did the most planning ? Delphine. She is very practical and organized.
Who stressed the most ? Cosima.
How fancy was the ceremony ? Back of a pickup truck | 2 | 3 | 4 | Normal Church Wedding | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | Kate and William wish they were this big.
Who was specifically not invited to the wedding ?
S E X :
Who is on top ? Cosima. It’s very different than who tops, because hear me out, Delphine tops but Cosima is on top.
Who is the one to instigate things ? Both clearly. Maybe Cosima a tiny bit more, like she knows how to turn Delphine on.
How healthy is their sex life ? They’re not horn dogs. But maybe twice a week ? With work and everything, they are busy.  Barely touch themselves let alone each other | 2 | 3 | 4 | Once a couple weeks, nothing overboard | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | They are humping each other on the couch right now
How kinky are they ? We didn’t talk about that, but i feel like they are quite kinky if they decide to. They can be soft, passionate and rough. Depending on moods.          Straight missionary with the lights off | 2 | 3 | 4 | Might try some butt stuff and toys | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | Don’t go into the sex dungeon without a horse’s head
How long do they normally last ? At least an hour for both.
Do they make sure each person gets an equal amount of orgasms ? Yes but it’s not mandatory. I feel like Cosima would make sure of it because she just loves seeing Delphine’s face coming ?
How rough are they in bed ?  Nothing truly borderline, just passion.  Softer than a butterfly on the back of a bunny | 2 | 3 | 4 | The bed’s shaking and squeaking every time | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | Their dirty talk is so vulgar it’d make Dwayne Johnson blush. Also, the wall’s so weak it could collapse the next time they do it.
How much cuddling/snuggling do they do ? No touching after sex | 2 | 3 | 4 | A little spooning at night, or on the couch, but not in public | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | They snuggle and kiss more often than a teen couple on their fifth date to a pillow factory.
C H I L D R E N :
How many children will they have naturally ? ahhhhhh, well i don’t know yet.  Probably just one at first. But if it worked, Delphine would love another one ?
How many children will they adopt ?  Didn’t they adopt Kira and Charlotte ?
Who gets stuck with the most diapers ? Cosima.
Who is the stricter parent ? Delphine. Cosima is the cool dad.
Who stops the kid(s) from doing dangerous stunts after school ? Delphine more, but both.
Who remembers to pack the lunch(es) ?  Delphine.
Who is the more loved parent ? Et merde ! Both !
Who is more likely to attend the PTA meetings ? Cosima, not that she likes it particularly but Delphine probably told her to go because she couldn’t make it.
Who cried the most at graduation ? Cosima. A proud baby.
Who is more likely to bail the child(ren) out of trouble with the law ? Cosima. but both.
C O O K I N G :
Who does the most cooking ? Delphine !
Who is the most picky in their food choice ? Cosima. She’s a baby she probably doesn’t like everything. And given that Delphine doesn’t mind eating frogs or snails. ezioghzegzgzhje
Who does the grocery shopping ? Both. They take turns.
How often do they bake desserts ? Sometimes, for occasions. And by that I mean Delphine, because Cosima just bakes pot brownies.
Are they more of a meat lover or a salad eater ?  I think Delphine is a meat lover, considering she’s french. Cosima probably just eats whatever is around.
Who is more likely to surprise the other(s) with an anniversary dinner ? DELPHINE im crying at canon
Who is more likely to suggest going out ? Both ? but they don’t go out a lot, they just order on Uber Eats ok.
Who is more likely to burn the house down accidently while cooking ?  Actually, maybe both. If Delphine stopped forgetting about her meals in the stove along with her cakes, but also im not sure Cosima is that great of a cooker either.
C H O R E S :
Who cleans the room ? Delphine but they are both a bit messy.
Who is really against chores ? None ? But Cosima really tries to avoid them.
Who cleans up after the pets ? Cosima. It’s not the same, it’s straight up stinking.
Who is more likely to sweep everything under the rug ? Cosima too.
Who stresses the most when guests are coming over ? Cosima chill.  Depending on the guests.
Who found a dollar between the couch cushions while cleaning ? Delphine, because she’s that lucky. And it’s Cosima’s.
M I S C :
Who takes the longer showers/baths ? Cosima. She’s a baby come on.
Who takes the dog out for a walk ? Delphine. On morning while smoking her cigarette and Cosima is still sleeping.
How often do they decorate the room/house for the holidays ? I don’t know, for halloween and christmas I’d say ?
What are their goals for the relationship ? Keep Cosima alive seems actually accurate.
Who is most likely to sleep till noon ? Cosima, but Delphine might after parties and such.
Who plays the most pranks ? Cosima definitely.

Continuing Travels of Cophine, Part 3 Chapt. 10
Fucking finally. I’ve been trying to get my novel out to literary agents, which has taken up a lot of creative energy on top of regular life activities and things (bipolar doesn’t always work in my favor, either). But, here it is!
You can read all of Part 3 here: https://archiveofourown.org/works/16820221
Cosima didn't know how to write a condolence card. She sucked even more at picking one out, but on Tuesday that was her One Job.
At the card-and-party-goods store Sarah brought her to, the card section stretched over three full aisles, and the “sympathy” cards were ten percent of that. “Just grab a card,” she muttered to herself, “any fucking card.” But all of the cards she picked up sucked. Donnie Hendrix just lost his mother – the first person in his entire life who loved him – and the trite pre-written message on a two dollar piece of card stock was supposed to sooth his pain? Were the swoopy cursive letters and watercolor flowers actually supposed to comfort anyone? Or wasn't it all just a ploy to make those who hadn't lost anyone feel better about themselves? Like saying “look, I helped” without actually helping anything at all?
She picked up a card showing a tire swing at sunset. Always remember that every part of life is a part of God's plan, it said.
Cosima huffed. “Is cloning a part of God's plan, too?” she asked the card, and stuffed it back into it's slot.
Another read, Nothing happens without a reason. A whole bunch of Cosima's life experience contradicted that one, too.
Those who love us never really leave us.
“Way to rip off Sirius Black, yo,” Cosima told that card. As she suspected, JK Rowling was not credited with the message anywhere on the back.
She had no idea how close Donnie was (had been) to his mother. If (when) Cosima's mother died, there wasn't a card in existence that would even dent Cosima's pain. To make matters worse, in her search Cosima came across sympathy cards for the loss of a spouse or partner and she nearly fled the card aisle to join Sarah in the “summer fun” aisle with the pool noodles and plastic sand buckets. The two news alerts from Syria she got a few minutes ago really didn't help, and Delphine wasn't even in Syria yet.
Cosima was scowling at a card reading Don't cry. They're in a better place now when her phone rang. She crammed the card back in it's overcrowded slot and answered. “Hey gorgeous,” she said.
“Hey,” Delphine said. “Is everything alright? You said you needed some help?”
Delphine sounded exhausted, and Cosima chided herself. Delphine had treated two Turkish clones in two cities in two days. She deserved some time to herself. “Totally alright,” Cosima assured her. “Nothing to worry about. Forget I asked.”
“Euh, not very likely. What do you need help with?”
“Well, you seem like a classy lady, and so I thought – ”
Delphine's snorted laugh cut her off. “I'm sorry, what?”
“I have to buy a sympathy card for Donnie, and I have no frikkin' clue what to get, or, like, what to do when we see him later today.”
“Oh.” Delphine's mirth vanished. “Why are you buying a sympathy card? What happened?”
“His mom died. She had a stroke on Friday and she never woke up from the coma. Not, if you ask me, the worst way to go, but still sad, you know?” Funny how none of the sympathy cards said that: It wasn't the worst way to go, but it's still sad, I know.
“Hm.”
“Anyway, I'm trying to find the right card, and nothing seems right. Sarah doesn't know either, and the whole “sorry your mom died” thing kind of sent her to a bad emotional place too. Totally understandable, you know? She's distracting herself right now. I'd normally ask Alison, but obviously that doesn't work here. Scott's socially inept in these areas, even worse than me, and my mom's off the grid until June, so I can't ask her either.”
“I see.” Traffic rushed by on Delphine's end, and she said, “hang on,” a couple of times before the traffic noise ceased. “I'm not sure how much I can help, actually. I'm not exactly an expert in comforting phrases or what to say after someone dies. In English or in French, actually.”
Cosima sighed. “Well, you've gotta be better at this than I am. Like, what kind of card would you want if your mom died?”
Delphine laughed again. “That depends.”
“On what?”
“How she died, if she'd decided to talk to me before she passed, if she has a will...”
“Let's say there's no will, you were on speaking terms, and she died of a stroke.” Cosima had no idea about the will part, but assumed it didn't matter here. “In fact, you know what, scratch that. You'd probably want a card saying something like Guess what? She's dead.”
“In my case, yes, that would be fine. But this is not my case.”
“What kind would you want if I died?”
Delphine inhaled sharply, and Cosima kicked herself again. Delphine already had those nightmares. “I'd rather not think about that.”
“Yeah, fair. Ditto.”
“Cosima. What kind of card do you think you should get? What would the right one say in this situation?”
“I just want one that says, This sucks, and we all know it sucks, and we're here for you. None of this greater purpose, heaven and God shit. I mean, I know the Hendrixes go to church and all that, but... I don't know. It seems off base to me, and it'll be super obvious I don't mean it.”
“Don't they have any blank cards? You can write in your own message if you want.”
“I am not sure that would be better, actually.” She sighed again and held a hand to her forehead. Chances were, this would be their only conversation that day – it was dinner time in Bursa, and Cosima would be spending the next few hours with the Hendrixes. She should get the most out of her daily Delphine Time. Walking away from the cards towards the big store-front window, she asked, “How'd your day go, then? How was the treatment?”
“Fine. She's asymptomatic, as we suspected.”
Cosima smiled. “Nice of you to use the plural there. If I remember correctly, you're the one who convinced me not to drop clone fest to inoculate her back in March.”
“You weren't terribly opposed, though.”
“Mostly because I knew Alison would kick my ass.” Cosima giggled. “If only we'd known how Clone Fest would actually go! Alison might've been happy for us to miss it.”
“I thought you two smoothed all that over?”
“Eh. I guess. Forgiven but not forgotten, for my part.”
“Doesn't sound like you've completely forgiven, either.”
“I've forgiven enough to not bring it up again with her. How's that? I'm letting it slide.”
“As long as you're both okay.”
“I am fine. Alison's husband is the one I should be worried about right now. And you. I'm always worried about you.”
“Don't worry too much. Bursa is very nice. Rainy, but nice.”
“Oh, I'm sure it's nice. And it's not really Bursa I'm worried about, either.”
Delphine made a noncommittal noise. Cosima picked up a little animatronic Easter bunny from the store's clearance bin and pushed the button on its ear. While it danced around to its tinny robotic song, Cosima tried to think of something else to say – something other than “you know there have been chemical attacks in Syria recently” and “you know our security team can't really protect you from everything.”
“How's everyone else?” Delphine asked.
“Fine. Charlotte's still being Charlotte. Sarah's worried she's gonna fail her math class, so we're all trying to help her out with that.”
“Wait. Sarah's worried that Charlotte will fail? I thought she was strong in math.”
“No no no. Sarah's worried that Sarah might fail math.”
“Ah!”
“Too many shes, I know.”
“Hm.”
Cosima looked around to make sure Sarah wasn't in hearing distance. “I'm trying to kind of gently coax her into, like, an advisor's office or something. Maybe an academic counselor.”
“Sarah, you mean?”
“Yes, still Sarah. Like, it's weird.” Cosima looked around again. Sarah had moved on to the “Over the Hill” birthday aisle, where she was laughing at some tombstone shaped decorations. “She's obviously smart,” Cosima whispered to Delphine, “and she's doing everything she's supposed to do. She's working her ass off for these classes, and she just can't get it. Me and Scott are still tutoring her like once a week or so, but I dunno. I think she needs something that we're not able to give her, but I don't know what. She just keeps saying she's too stupid to get it, but I don't think that's the case.”
“No, I don't think so either.”
“She was joking the other day that someone must've dropped her on her head as a baby.”
Delphine was silent on the other end, but in the silence Cosima heard her thinking. The gentle tap of a pen or pencil gave it away. Before either of them to continue the conversation, Sarah came over and waved a “old man survival kit” at Cosima.
“Art's birthday's all set, then,” Sarah said. When Cosima just stared, she clarified. “He's turning 40 in a couple weeks.”
“Oh,” Cosima said. “Cool. Um. Send us the date, yeah?”
“Sure. He doesn't want anyone to know, but whatever.” She waved at the phone in Cosima's hand and raised her voice. “Hi Delphine!”
Delphine chuckled softly and said, “Hello Sarah in a voice soft enough for Sarah to miss it.
“I should get going,” Cosima said into the phone. “I probably can't talk much later, but text me if you want, yeah?”
Delphine agreed to, they both said “I love you,” and Cosima hung up. Then she turned to Sarah. “How'd you know I was talking to Delphine?”
“Your face, mostly. Anyway, you ready yet? Where's the card? I wanna get outta here before I buy too much shit I don't need.”
* * * * * *
On Thursday, as Delphine travelled to Izmir, Cosima sat in their apartment and scrolled through job listings. The exercise was futile – she wouldn't apply to any of them and anyway, she didn't have her PhD yet. Her advisor sent back a list of dissertation edits yesterday, but Cosima had only made two of the smallest ones. More and more, every time she sat at the computer, her mind drifted. Some of it was the same old shit: anxiety over the state of the world and the nagging feeling that nothing she did amounted to much. And worry about Delphine. She always worried about Delphine. The job search began as a combination of those – worry that she'd never get a job good enough to give Delphine the kind of life she deserved.
Her family made sure to get her away from the Rabbit Hole for at least an hour every day now, and Cosima was not allowed to protest. If she did, they pretended to move in with her, loudly, until she left the apartment in frustration. That only happened once, though. Tuesday's outing was to the store and the Hendrixes, where Clone Club gathered to support Donnie in his grief. Yesterday, Cosima was back at Bailey Downs, to “help Helena with the boys” while the Hendrixes attended the funeral in Hamilton. “Helping with the boys” made no sense, of course, since Cosima didn't know what the fuck to do with one-year-olds except make silly faces once in a while, and Helena resented the obvious supervision. Cosima spent half of that visit riding Alison's bicycle aimlessly through the subdivision by herself.
Thoughts of the twins and the suburban expanse of Scarborough set Cosima's mind spinning again.
She remembered the sprawling, packed metropolises of Mexico City, Istanbul, and São Paulo. Those weren't even the biggest cities in the world, and still their size and scope took her breath away. She remembered the bustling streets of Lima and Cairo, and she'd never stopped being amazed at how many distinct individuals existed in the world. Little Arthur and Little Donnie were unique, just like every single one of those people. Just like Delphine. Just like Cosima and each of her sisters.
She shook her head and tapped her own cheeks. Another cup of tea was in order, but before she got up her phone emitted a weak little chirp – another news alert from Syria.
“Fuck it,” Cosima told her laptop. Grabbing her coat and purse, she went outside, leaving the job search and dissertation edits behind.
The Syrian news alerts never made Cosima feel better. Even the occasional cease fires failed to get her hopes up, because most of them devolved into violence again, or yet another armed group entered the scene to fuck shit up again.
At least Cosima now checked those alerts only from outside of the Rabbit Hole, with a view of sky and trees rather than drab walls and a moldy ceiling she lacked motivation to clean herself. Ignoring the chirps from inside the apartment didn't change the situation, but it helped Cosima keep her head screwed on, and it kept her from telling Delphine to just stay far the fuck away and send someone else to cure the Syrian Leda.
Not that she hadn't thought about it. The trouble was that no one else would do it – not the way it needed to be done, or with the appropriate discretion.
Cosima ordered a chai latte at the cafe around the corner, sat near the window, and gave in to her brain's desire to dwell on bad news for the day.
Fighting in Aleppo schools bombed in Hama clinics shot up in Ghouta ISIS kidnapping people in Deir ez-Zor
Hundreds of thousands of people were trying to flee with the clothes on their backs, and the only people trying to get in were ISIS recruits, aid workers, and foreign military “advisors.” By the time this whole shit show ended, Cosima doubted there would be anything left of the beautiful country she'd wanted to visit as a teenager – encouraged by her tenth grade math teacher who just happened to be Syrian and also super fucking hot. But that was now beside the point. The point now was that a different super fucking hot object of Cosima's affections would be in Syria within the next couple of weeks. Their purchase earlier that year of “kidnap and ransom” insurance only made Cosima feel worse.
Skimming over the most recent alert from Damascus, a pair of chimes interrupted her. The first was from Qamar, their remaining Arabic translator, requesting a phone call in a few minutes. She did that often, preferring to relay messages longer than five words verbally rather than in writing. Cosima sighed and agreed.
The other was the semi-daily update from Nabil back in Djibouti. Like most of the children's texts, it was short and random – a picture of a filthy street cat in the shadow of a trash can that he'd captioned “friienb.” Cosima replied as she usually did, with a picture of her own – her chai latte, framed by a glass sugar shaker and a napkin holder. She added a short and simple message of her own. “Lunch.”
She kept thinking of talking with Qamar about Nooran's nieces and nephews. Djibouti was certainly safer than Yemen, and now that Nooran was cured their life could improve somewhat, but Cosima couldn't let go of Nooran's request – to take the children to Canada with them. She also couldn't forget the role they'd inadvertently played in Cosima's current situation by sending a picture of themselves with the flag of the Muslim Brotherhood in the background. It wasn't their fault, and she would never – could never – ask them about it.
Her phone rang and she answered before even checking the caller. “Hello, this is Cosima,” she said.
“Hi, Cosima,” her mother said, a certain heaviness in her voice.
The dissonance between her expectation of Qamar's chipper accent and the sound of her mother's voice made Cosima reel. “Oh. Hey, Mom. I thought you were out to sea right now?”
“Well, we were.”
“Okay. That doesn't sound good. What happened? You said the boat was having some issues, but – ”
“No, honey, the boat's fine. We got that fixed last month.”
“Okay...”
A garbled, wonky announcement sounded through the phone, like the announcements at airports or train stations, but filtered under water. Sally sighed and waited for it to finish before speaking again. “We're at the hospital right now.”
Cosima froze. “Oh shit. Is it your foot?” She'd been worried about that, about her mother going out to sea so soon after bunion surgery, but Sally said no.
“No, honey, my foot's doing fine. It's Gene.”
“Oh. Is he...”
“It's not his heart this time. He's very keen on everyone knowing that. He did not have another heart attack, and he's been taking his statins regularly.”
“Okay, well that still doesn't really tell me what's wrong with him.”
Sally sighed again. “Well, a couple of days ago, he started noticing blood in his urine. Of course, being Gene, he didn't say anything about it until yesterday, when he couldn't urinate at all.”
Imagining that made Cosima squirm and cross her legs in sympathy. “That sounds awful.”
Beeping in Cosima's ear told her Qamar was trying to get through. Whatever. Qamar could wait. Qamar probably didn't have a urinary blockage.
Sally went on. “Yes, well, after several hours of that, he agreed we should turn around and head for shore. Fortunately we were only about six hours out from Eureka, so here we are.”
“So, what, Dad went like eight hours without peeing? Holy shit.”
“Closer to twelve or fourteen, I think. He's on a catheter now and they're running some tests.”
“Jesus Christ, poor guy.”
“Yes, well.” Sally gave a few of her deep sighs – the kind that came from somewhere beneath her diaphragm and that Cosima was all too familiar with.
“Go ahead and say it, Mom.”
She sighed again. “Well, it's just – I know this has been going on longer than he says it has. The doctors were worried about his prostate last year, and sometimes Gene gets this pinched look on his face, you know? This pinched pained look and then he acts like it didn't happen and he's not in any pain, like I'm some kind of an idiot.”
“That... sounds familiar.”
“Oh, so you noticed while we were in Toronto a few months ago? You noticed it too?”
“Uh, no, actually, I didn't. I was thinking of something else.” She was thinking of Delphine, wincing over the phone and over Skype and swearing that nothing was wrong, all the while having a cracked knee cap. “I think you and I have similar tastes in partners,” she told Sally.
Sally laughed. “Don't say that! Delphine's a nice girl.”
“Yeah, nice and stubborn as hell. Anyway. What's next? What's going to happen?”
“We're staying on land for a while. I knew Gene was really hurting when I told him we'd have to, and he didn't even argue.”
Cosima whistled. “Back to Berkeley then?”
“We'll see. I'll keep you posted. Love you.”
Cosima returned the sentiment and hung up. She needed to call Qamar and see what she'd turned up, but that could wait another few minutes. Pulling up her on-going text string with Delphine, Cosima typed, Would you tell me if you couldn't pee for twelve hours? After hitting send, she kicked herself. Over text, she wouldn't see Delphine's face when she read the question, and in regular messenger it was impossible to delete texts.
The phone call with Qamar lasted four minutes. Samira, the one Leda remaining in Syria, still resided in Douma, but had no cell phone or internet access. All the information Qamar had was word-of-mouth, from the cousin of a friend of Samira's husband.
“I tell him, you see her next month,” Qamar said
“It'll be a lot closer than that,” Cosima said. “Delphine's scheduled to meet the security team there on May 9.”
“May 9? Okay, I tell them tomorrow. I talk them tomorrow.”
“I mean,” Cosima cautioned, “there's also always the chance the date could change. Just like the others.”
“Yes yes. I know.” Qamar had been with them since they got the Leda List, or close to it. She knew the deal, even if she never quite understood it.
Off the phone again, Cosima let out a long, slow breath. Different news would have been welcome – that Samira had fled along with her Syrian Leda sisters and Delphine didn't need to go there at all, ever. Or maybe that Samira was in some unique position to hop over the border into Lebanon for a day or two and get treated there.
Not likely.
Finishing her drink, Cosima debated a trip to the aquarium or to see Scott at the university, where he was working on nanotechnology. She'd just settled on visiting Scott when Delphine's reply arrived. Yes, I will tell you if I can't pee for 12 hours but only on one condition.
That was unexpected. What's that?
You have to tell me why the fuck you tried putting a robot worm in your face a few years ago.

Hi there! How are you Doro? I've been following your Cophine fics for a few years now and love them! Every Me & Every You is my favourite, along with Howl. What I wanted to ask is what do you do to build your writing skills? I am starting to write short scenes but find them stale and boring when I read through them ha. Any pointers would be great. Please & tq!
omg thank you so much!!
oof, that’s a hard question. i think, writing a lot, and rewriting even more, probably?
it took me a while to understand that the way i see things in my head, is not what other people are going to see, unless i specifically describe how things are looking. i tend to write rather dialogue-heavy, bc i often forget that what i write happens in my head, and therefore others won’t know what it looks like, unless i take the time and add descriptors.
that said, please don’t compare someone else’s best to your first attempts. when i post stuff, i’ve gone over it so many times i usually know it by heart (hence why i sometimes have really weird typos/words missing, bc i know what’s supposed to be there and don’t see it when it’s not), i’ve stared at it so many times and moved stuff around.
also, what you’re seeing is 12 years of on-and-off writing. i’m not joking when i say i have over 1mil words on the ao3, and that is only what i have published and shared. there’s a lot more sitting on my hd, collecting dust, or stuff that has been deleted bc it was just too horrible and there was no way of fixing it.
i think the key advice i have would be, healthy persistence? if it’s an idea you really want to pursue, just getting a really rough draft out can be helpful, and then going from there. but there is stuff that just won’t work, no matter how hard you try, and that’s when i either put it into an “archive” folder, or delete it completely, depending on how important the thing was to me.
i hope that could help you at least a tiny bit!

Can’t believe i’ve been following you for so long and didn’t realize your username is from orphan black! Cophine or Calzona?
Haha yes! It’s honestly a god tier show I love it so much
And ok I love cophine with all of my heart I really do (like Delphine my beloved and also Cosima is adorable and also too relatable lol), but they don’t quite hit the same as calzona. I think it’s bc for the whole show there is a lot of sketchy stuff happening with cophine and like it’s hard to know where they stand a lot of the time. Like, it’s a drama so it’s dramatic, you know? Whereas with calzona, though there is a lot of drama (lol rip), there is more domesticity and just them being cute and happy and having a little flat and getting married and having a kid etc etc. like, I can’t recall another sapphic couple I’ve ever seen with the same amount of just them existing and being happy, you know? So I’d say I’d probably choose them. But it’s close, bc I love cophine so much

Lil D - Camp Cophine
read it on the AO3 at https://ift.tt/2yfq84h
by Addixion
This is a fun, fluffy and smutty domestic series of G!P Cophine one shots. TinyPupok and I wrote them together. They have not been written in order and so will not (initially) be published in order. I may re order them in the future. I do have plans to write some back story - origin story of Lil D, potentially, and a conception chapter. Delphine is intersex in these fics, ie she has both male and female parts. These fics make references to canon elements of the show, but are obviously mostly AU. They were written mostly during the hiatus between Season 3 and 4, so there won't be too many references to Season 4/5 in the first few chapters released. Also, Mrs S is alive for these fics :-) We have no intention of making these particularly angsty so she will probably remain alive, if she continues to feature much at all. (Spoiler alert - she's in a future fic lol). Please read with an open mind, comment and if you liked it, leave Kudos :-). P.S we are also open to prompts!
Words: 3580, Chapters: 1/?, Language: English

Cophine + 25 for the breakup fics? If not that than supercorp
omg thank you for the prompt!! and i am always open to write for any of these ships if you ever need a reference for an ask! also, i did supercorp + 25 here too ;)
Cosima comes for the last of her things one bleak Saturday morning.
Delphine holds a cigarette between two fingers as she leans against the balcony railing, trying her best to focus only on the smoke she inhales. The sky is so gloomy that the early morning sun doesn’t peek out behind the clouds like it should; it feels, Delphine thinks to herself, like a sign.
A crash sounds faintly from inside, like Cosima’s dropped something again. Delphine doesn’t turn around to mention it though, not even when Cosima shuffles to the doorway.
“Hey,” she says, and it sounds louder, somehow, than necessary. “I think I got everything.”
Delphine nods, and still doesn’t turn around. “Okay,” she says. She knows if she faces Cosima now she’ll see her crestfallen face, and she can’t do that right now.
Cosima is not so easily deterred, and she comes up beside Delphine, resting her elbows on the balcony and exhaling deeply. “Full disclosure,” she says, “if Sarah eggs your apartment, I specifically cautioned her against it. You know, for the record.”
“I would expect nothing less,” Delphine says, and she attempts a smile, offering her cigarette with one hand.
Cosima shakes her head to say no thanks, and Delphine takes it back and wishes it were a glass of wine instead. It’s too early to think about their relationship, if she’s being perfectly honest. She needs Cosima gone, she needs the sky to clear, she needs something—anything—to make her life the way it used to be like.
“So what now?” Cosima asks.
All Delphine does is shrug. Cosima will move on as she always has, and Delphine will work to get there too; it’s not like this is the first time they’ve broken up. This time is more real though, as if the others have just been stepping stones leading up to this inevitable heartbreak.
“Do you need help?” she asks a beat later, just remembering that Cosima has to move back into Sarah’s apartment. “Moving, that is.”
“Nah.” Cosima scuffs the tip of her shoe against the floor. Shrugs. “Cal’s already waiting downstairs with the truck. Thanks, though.”
“Of course,” Delphine says. “I would imagine Sarah wouldn’t like it very much anyway.”
“Yeah, you’re right. She’s never liked you much.”
It’s not meant to be a jab, she knows, but all it does is make Delphine’s heart sink. Still, she meets Cosima’s laughing grin with a half-smile of her own. She hates to admit it, but she’ll honestly miss Sarah. And everyone else in Cosima’s life.
(And Cosima, most of all.)
“She doesn’t like anyone,” Delphine says, and Cosima snorts.
“Okay, true.”
They stand side-by-side for a while, in quiet silence. Cosima does not look so crestfallen after all. Pensive at best, but mostly unengaged. More than once Delphine catches her stealing a glance Delphine’s way, and she isn’t ever smiling, not really, but she isn’t frowning either.
“I’m sorry,” Delphine says when it gets to be too stifling, this overwhelming feeling that something is wrong. “Am I…distracting you?”
“No! No, it’s just, er…your hair,” Cosima says, and she reaches over to tuck an unruly strand behind Delphine’s ear, ringed fingers cool against her warm skin. “It looks crazy. Sorry.”
“You woke me too early,” Delphine tries to joke, but her throat feels tight, scratchy, and she watches as Cosima’s face falls.
It is a barely conceivable shift of expression, really, but Delphine sees the instant that Cosima grows serious. “This is really it, huh,” Cosima mutters.
Delphine swallows, but doesn’t speak. She has to turn away again, and then take another drag of her cigarette. Cosima fidgets beside her, tapping her fingertips against the balcony edge and readjusting her glasses several times.
“Any chance we can just skip the usual stuff?” Cosima blurts out. “You know, you say some shit about how you don’t love me, I throw it back at your face, and then it’s nothing but has everything been a lie and don’t come back, you stupid asshole.”
The ridiculousness of it all makes Delphine’s lips tug upwards, despite herself. “I have never called you a stupid asshole,” she counters, and it makes Cosima smile as Delphine turns back.
“Maybe that was all me, then,” Cosima says. “But let’s not do that this time, okay? Let’s just…let each other go for real, and forget everything else.”
“That sounds…good,” Delphine says, and she isn’t so sure there’s a word in English that can capture her feelings.
Cosima’s shoulders sag in relief. “Okay,” she says. “Hey, you—you know I do love you, right?”
“I love you too,” Delphine says quietly, perhaps a tad quicker than expected. “Very much.”
“Right.”
The admission doesn’t seem to work in either of their favor, and Cosima drops her gaze to the street below as Delphine tries not to let her emotions screw her over. She doesn’t remember why they had agreed to break up, suddenly. Or even why today, of all days, they’ve decided is the time to let themselves ruin everything.
“I should get going,” Cosima says, regretfully. “Cal is probably wondering where I am.”
“Yes, of course,” Delphine says, stubbing her cigarette out. “I’ll walk you out.”
She has to admit it gives her pause, to see the living room looking emptier than she saw it this morning, to see the boxes stacked by the front of the apartment that are hastily thrown together but ominous all the same. But she doesn’t comment on it at all, opting instead to smile as best as she can as Cosima throws on her sweater.
“See you around?” Cosima asks, a hopeful tone in her voice that is about as weak as Delphine feels.
She doesn’t know what compels her to do it, but Delphine leans over to brush her lips against Cosima’s cheek, suddenly feeling as if she’s about to burst at the seams. “Of course,” she promises, breathes really, and when she draws back she sees Cosima blink away at wetness gathering in her eyes.
“Bye, Delphine,” is all Cosima manages to say, and Delphine sucks in a sharp breath and echoes the goodbye as confidently as she can.
(She has never understood the phrase her heart shattered into a million pieces until now, she thinks.)

Hey for the fanfiction writing thing will you answer 2, 6, 11, 12, 13, 21, 22, 27, 29, 30, 33, 34 please? It's kind of a lot so if you're not up for it it's totally fine
Totally fine! I just had to wait until I was on my laptop instead of mobile so sorry it took so long lol
2. What fandoms do you write for and do you have a particular favourite if you write for more than one?
I have written for a lot but the fandoms that I have most recently written for / currently write for are Supergirl and Critical Role (mighty nein not vox machina)
6. If you had to delete one of your stories and never speak of it again, which would it be and why?
Probably a really shitty Alicia Clark/Elyza Lex fanfiction I wrote on a whim the first day that craze happened lol
11. Have you ever amended a story due to criticisms you’ve received after posting it?
Nah, the most I’ve done is fix grammar or typos I didn’t notice before
12. Who is your favourite character to write for? Why?
Probably Alex Danvers, specifically Alex and Kara interaction. I’m pretty sure at least half of my sanvers fics have a sister night somewhere in there, if not more than one. She’s just one of my favorite characters in general and it’s very fun to try and capture the nuances of her personality because there’s so many layers to her and each one is more interesting!
13. Who is your least favourite character to write for? Why?
I tried writing Lena Luthor once and it was just hard to figure her out, which is just how she is....but I think there’s a huge difference between canon Lena and fanon Lena so seeing posts about her on tumblr but then going and watching the show it’s like two different people and it gets confusing.
21. Tell me about another writer(s) who you admire? What is it about them that you admire?
One of my first favorite fic writers that I remember @novelconcepts! I don’t think they post fic much anymore but whenever they posted a new Cophine fic back in the day I would always rush to read it! And even if the fics were one-shots, and not too long, there was so much within the story itself that I loved! It could really capture you even if it was short
22. Do you have a story that you look back on and cringe when you reread it?
See answer for #6. Usually when I reread older stuff I try to see the good in it and then see how I’ve improved since then instead of just hating everything
27. Do you make a general outline for your stories or do you just go with the flow?
I’ll outline when I have a really good idea that I want to follow through on, so I did for Cophine She Brings Me the Music and Clexa I Need You Closer (although I lost that outline which is part of the reason I still haven’t finished it). I should really outline fics more often, maybe then I’d finish them.
29. Do you have a story that you feel doesn’t get as much love as you’d like?
Not that I can think of off the top of my head but I know there’s a lot. Usually the best fics aren’t even on the first page on ao3 when you sort by kudos! You have to really dig for them but there are some amazing gems out there that people just don’t read because they get buried under pages of new fics and popular fics.
30. In contrast to 29 is there a story which gets lots of love which you kinda eye roll at?
I can think of one sanvers fic off the top of my head that I’m not going to name (because I don’t remember the name) but I read like fifteen chapters of it because it was one of the top kudosed fics and I was desperate for new sanvers content and I just couldn’t get into it. It felt very ooc and like it was trying too hard to be one of those fun, quirky fics, but then it was too dramatic at the same time.
33. What’s the biggest compliment you’ve gotten?
I’ve had at least a few people comment and say that this was like their third time reading it, or that they like to re-read it every once in a while, and it just means a lot that someone liked it so much that they actually remember it and go back to it??? it’s so cool??????
34. What’s the harshest criticism you’ve gotten?
I actually haven’t gotten very harsh criticism of my fics....I think the most annoying was when I had side Kara/James in a fic and like five comments were asking for supercorp......... like bruh...read the room
