Wait in the cat au would bee become a nekomata if shockwave killed him or is old age the only way?

If it did work I get the feeling shockwave would somehow become worse since bee would be adjusting to essentially being a new creature with strange new powers

He would become a Bakeneko if Shockwave manages to kill him! Ironically this would make his power specialty more similar to Kitsune as Bakeneko are known to transform into humans. (Bakeneko is also an change a cat can become through old age because things just happen to old cats). So Shockwave would be disappointed for a moment before realizing this is still an opportunity to use his experience to teach the newly made yokai.

If killing Bumblebee DID make him a Nekomata Shockwave would be insufferable about it. He loves seeing himself in Bumblebee and would try to force him to kill and eat humans, y'know like all kits need to learn.

This ask also made me think about this au too much and now the team is here. The plot would generally be that they're cats who protect humans from yokai and they live with Sari at her family shrine which is where Bumblebee and Bulk escapes to after getting away from Shockwave. Yes Ratchet is a Nekomata he is an old old kitty who thinks about the War often. He teaches Bumblebee what it actually means to be a magical cat and clears up that if Shockwave kills him it will with 90% surety make him dead dead.

Sari can also talk with cats. We're not worrying about that.

Takashi living the warm, full-of-love life that reiko couldn't have (as far as we know in the current canon) feels very much like the grief that dawns for children when they finally realized how much sacrifice their parents didn't always tell them just to give birth and raise them.

Like, technically speaking, reiko only gave takashi a world of problems by passing down the sight and the book of friends decades after her death, but takashi also grasped the wholesome and the awful parts of interacting with both humans and youkai from the memories she had left behind, scattered among all these eternal monsters she had defeated, leaving in them unintentional, but important life lessons for him to find later on in the future. If it weren't for all those societal rejections that reiko received from humans and the hardships from youkai that led her to start the book of friends, takashi wouldn't be able to avoid repeating her mistakes (and, consequently, could be just as comfortable with isolation like reiko was), let alone make the precious balance we now see him have in the present time, where he can make genuine connections with humans and youkai while also maintaining a balance to them. Do you get what I'm saying 💔

- Dead rat -

Danny wasn't sure he remembered what warmth felt like anymore.

Ice settled into his bones, his very core.

He relished when he could feel the faint impressions of warmth from outside, from the sun, a hug, a hot plate of non lethal food.

There wasn't any warmth here.

The buzzing florescent lights were no replacement for sunshine, no one was able to touch him through the glass, the food they gave him were cold mounds of grey... something.

Danny curled in on himself in the corner of the room as he glared at the scientists watching him through the glass.

He was nothing but an animal to them.

A project.

He wanted to escape, to be free, but he had lost a lot of ectoplasm before he ended up with them. He was drained and they were keeping him even more drained.

He was running.

He wasn't sure where he was going.

He just needed to get away.

And they found him.

God he is such a fuck up.

If he hadn't let it slip to his parents who he is- what he is, he wouldn't be here. He would be at home. With Tucker and Sam. With Jazz.

Not... wherever here is without any ectoplasm to heal his wounds.

His head snapped up from his knees when the door to his pristine white cell opened.

A man in a suit walked in, immediately flanked by what appeared to be body guards who eyed Danny with caution.

"I do apologize for the treatment of you so far, but I do believe we can make sure you have better... arrangements in the future. As long as the two of us are at an... understanding."

Danny stared at him in silence for a moment, h opened his mouth to speak, his brows furrowing when it took a moment to get his vocal chords to work, and when they did, they were scratchy from disuse. "Understanding?"

"yes, as I see it I can help you, and you can help me. In exchange I can get you out of this dingy little room and into a much better one, a proper bed and everything."

Danny's eyes narrowed "who are you?"

The man grinned, offering a hand to help the thin and fragile looking boy up, thinking that he had agreed. In his mind, who wouldn't? "Lex Luther."

Danny, using what little strength he had left, smacked his hand away, "not the first billionaire to offer that fruitloop." He hissed.

Danny didn't watch him as he stormed out, but he heard each and every footstep banging against his skull. Danny stared at his hand, wishing the warmth from the hardly a second of contact lingered a little bit longer.
