Headcanon about Antari bloodtype
The type of blood a person has, is determined by the presence or absence of certain antigens.
Antigens are substances that, if foreign to the body trigger an immune response.
There are over 600 different antigens across more than 36 blood group systems that may be present or absent on our red blood cells.
You have a ‘rare’ blood type if your blood is missing an antigen which is common to most, or if it has an antigen which most don’t have.
Plasma contains antibodies which fight infections and antigens of the same type.
The 4 main types of blood are determined by the presence or absence of two antigens, A and B, on the surface of the red blood cells. This classification is done by the A,B,O blood group system.
The bloodtype A has the A antigen on the surface of it's red blood cells and the B antibody in it's plasma.
The bloodtype B has the B antigen on the surface of it's red blood cells and the A antibody in it's plasma.
The bloodtype AB has both the A and B antigens on the surface of it's red blood cells and neither A or B antibodies in it's plasma.
The bloodtype O has neither A or B antigens on the surface of it's red blood cells, but both the A and B antibodies in it's plasma.
The second most important classification after the A,B,O blood group system is the Rhesus blood group system, with over 50 antigens.
One of these Rh antigens is the Rh D antigen, the presence of which determines a Rh positive bloodtype and the absence of which determines a Rh negative bloodtype.
The 8 most common bloodtypes are as follows : A+, A-, B+, B-, O+, O-, AB+, AB-.
RhNull blood on the other hand has none of the Rh antigens. It is the result of certain mutations.
It is extremely rare, with fewer than 50 individuals known to have RhNull blood in the 50 years after it's discovery, and only 9 active donors.
I associated it with Antari based on this quote:
"He was, after all, Antari. And Antari could speak to blood. To life. To magic itself. The first and final element, the one that lived in all and was of none."
RhNull blood can be donated to anybody, especially useful to people with rare Rh antigens, following only the A,B,O blood group system donation rules and that's why the term Golden Blood is used for it. On the other hand, people with this blood type cannot receive transfusions from anybody but other people with the RhNull bloodtype, following the same donation rules.
Magic is not hereditary, so I like to assume that after developing Antari magic they lose the Rh antigens through mutation.
And since I couldn't help myself, I assigned every character I kept track of, a bloodtype.
Most of the bloodtypes I assigned were based on my own interpretrations, but I did my best to mind the rules by which they are inherited.

RHY & ALUCARD ( @nomcurners )
IN THREE YEARS, RHY HAS heard that cursed name whispered around corners, under breaths, in rumors and in dreams and in nightmares. The king’s privateer was spotted in the North, they say, Alucard Emery always was a wildcard. Sometimes they speak of his arrest; they caught him smuggling black market goods, they say, Alucard Emery always was a wildcard. Sometimes they spin tales of his death at sea, in the gallows, and he will never let it show that these rumors eat at him, but Kell knows, always knows, and soothes him with nothing more than a shake of his head. Sometimes they whisper that he is back, and sometimes Rhy is foolish enough to wish it could be the truth. In truth, he isn’t quite sure what Alucard has been doing in the three years since, isn’t sure what drove him to leave the land behind--to leave Anisa behind.
( he doesn’t dare question why luc left him behind. it is enough to know he did. it is enough to know that rhy gave his heart so freely to a man who’d never cared to protect it. )
So when he hears the name Alucard on the lips of his courtiers as he charms his way through the winter ball, Rhy does what he always does. The twinge in his heart is shoved down below that bold smile. The mask does not slip. He is the prince, he is beloved, he slips between lovers and does not grow attached. It is what the people believe, after all, and so it must be the truth. It is nothing, then to dismiss these rumors as the gossip of the bored. It is nothing, then, to silence his restless heart. Rhy is resplendent and glorious, the golden prince, and so he enjoys the splendor, the company, the free-flowing wine.
If he leaves a bit too early, no one will comment. A nod to Kell, lingering in the eaves, is the only goodbye he offers; his brother disappears from the room before Rhy even escapes the crowd. There is no magic in his blood, yet as Rhy approaches the door to his rooms, he knows. Somehow, he knows. For a split second, Rhy wants to run, wants to slip into Kell’s room and pretend like his heart isn’t pounding. But Rhy is too bold, too brash, by half; he never runs, not even when he should. He pushes open the doors with all the easy grace of a prince with no cares in the world. And there he is, that beautiful face he can never regret, and Rhy knows it would be so easy to fall back into him just as he knows he can never do so again. There is nothing to fall back into, anyways, he reminds himself.
“My brother will kill you, you know.” Rhy crosses the room as if this is nothing to him. If his hands shake as he pours himself a glass of wine, at least his mask does not falter. “Did you get lost on the way to the ball? You must’ve. Only a madman would break into the rooms of a prince on purpose.”

No.9!
9. Most disliked character(s)? Why?
I am very bad at disliking characters so bare with me.
1. Haverty - Villains series ( Vengeful )
What can I say about this asshole?
First of all very creepy. The sheer lack of empathy and willingness to cut up another human being while regarding them as nothing more than a subject for his experimentation, for the ‘greater good of humanity’ makes him pretty unlikeable. The scene where he held Eli’s beating heart in his hand while marvelling at his regeneration ability made me want to punch him straight into a grave.
Eli didn’t deserve that. No one deserves that.
2. Berras Emery - Shades of Magic
Berras ‘I’ll beat my brother half to death and openly express my disgust to him for loving the prince and rat him out to my father and get him banished from Arnes’ Emery.
Fuck this man! Wish he had been the one to die in Anisa’s place.

Hey, my fellow som fans, do the books say how old Anisa Emery? I’m out and don’t have the books (with my millions of sticky note tabs) and tbh I’ve not read them in over a year. I need to know for reasons.

'Look, all I wanted to say was - that I never meant to hurt him.'... Alucard shook his head, eyes escaping to the steady blue line of the sea. His jaw locked, body revolting against the truth. The truth had claws, and they were sunk into his chest. It would be easier to let it go unsaid, but when Kell turned again to go, he forced it up. 'I left,' he said, 'because my brother found out where I was spending my nights - who I was spending them with.' Alucard kept his eyes on the water, but he heard Kell's steps drag to a stop. 'Believe it or not, not all families are willing to put aside propriety to indulge a royal's taste. The Emerys have old notions. Strict ones.' He swallowed. 'My brother, Berras, told my father, who beat me until I couldn't stand. Until he broke my arm, my shoulder, my ribs. Until I blacked out. And then he had Berras put me out to sea. I woke up in a ship's hold, the captain ten rish richer with the order not to return to London until his crew had set me right. I made it off that ship the first time it docked, with three lin in my picket and a fair bit of magic in my veins, and no one to welcome me home, so no, I didn't turn back. And that's my fault. But I didn't know what I meant to him.'
Is Kell the first person Alucard has told this whole story to?
Alucard hasn’t told Rhy yet. He hasn’t told Lila, or, as far as I can tell, the rest of his crew. I don’t get the sense that Tieren knows (although I could be wrong). Anisa almost certainly didn’t know; she was old enough that I can’t see her being sad he was staying away if she knew.
Alucard and Kell don’t even like each other. I’ve read this passage through a few times and I don’t know why Alucard chooses this time and this person to give this account to.
Is this just a case of him not being able to hear the untrue version where he just ran off even one more time, no matter who from? Or is this more of a need to have some form of external account. Rather like Holland earlier, Kell probably isn’t who Alucard wants to talk about this with, but they’re doing a dangerous thing, and Rhy has already refused to have this conversation until its concluded, and Kell is probably Alucard’s best bet to make sure that the truth gets back to Rhy even if Alucard doesn’t.

The Alucard Emery Drinking Game:
Every time Alucard’s mind drifts to Anisa--her bare feet, her fevered skin, her small arms around his neck--take a drink.
Every time Alucard thinks of Berras--his brother’s cutting tone, the hateful smile, the hands around his neck--take a drink.
Every time Alucard’s nightmares rise like bile, or his own screams echo in his head, or he has to remember his sister’s empty eyes, her burning heart, take a drink.
Every time Alucard thinks of Rhy’s fingers laced through his, of the prince’s voice telling him to hold on, hold on, hold on to me, take a very, very long drink.
Every time Alucard asks a question Delilah Bard will never answer, take a drink.
Repeat until the pain and grief finally begin to blur into something steady.

What now for Arteta? Arsenal manager in firing line as Villarreal leave season in ruins
Match statistics: Arsenal 0-0 Villarreal
What now for Mikel Arteta?
It was all or nothing for Arsenal and their manager against Villarreal on Thursday night and they failed to get the job done.
The Europa League was Arsenal’s only hope for salvation after a horrible season in the Premier League, but now they have been left to lick their wounds after a painful semi-final exit.
Trailing 2-1 after last week’s first leg in Spain, Arteta’s side knew they had to find at least one goal against a Villarreal outfit who sit sixth In La Liga.
But they couldn’t even do that. In keeping with the rest of their season, Arsenal produced an ugly mess of a performance – one that must raise serious questions about the manager.
Villarreal were comfortably the better side over the two legs and deserved to go through to the final, where they will now meet Manchester United in Gdansk.
And Arteta did not do himself any favours in either game, experimenting with his formations in both, with his team looking confused and unsure of themselves as a result.
Arsenal’s manager will have built up a lot of credit in the bank with the club’s hierarchy following last season’s surprise FA Cup success.

At that point, the young Spaniard looked an inspired choice. He had galvanised a squad that had looked lost under Unai Emery and there was a real belief that Arsenal were going somewhere under him.
But fast forward less than a year and it’s difficult say that any progress has been made.
Yes, there have been big issues on and off the pitch and players who you would expect to perform, like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, have been woefully off-colour for the majority of the campaign, but that shouldn’t absolve Arteta of criticism.
Arsenal finished eighth in the Premier League last season, their lowest finish since 1995, and this season they sit ninth with just four games remaining.
That is simply not good enough and now, barring a miracle in the final weeks of the campaign, they look certain to miss out on European qualification for the first time in a quarter of a century.
The performance in the second leg against Villarreal was a prime example of everything that is wrong at Arsenal at the moment.
There was no quality, no tempo, no invention. It was a team of individuals hoping for some sort of inspiration, but it never came.
There were opportunities, with Aubameyang hitting the woodwork twice and Emile Smith Rowe lobbing one effort just wide, but they were few and far between.
Tumblr media
Getty Images https://ift.tt/2Ry7K0w
Arsenal went into the game knowing their season was on the line and knowing they had to score at least one goal to go through.
Yet they mustered just two shots on target throughout 90 drab minutes. If there was a plan before kick-off, it was tough to see what it was.
The inquest will be immediate, but it’s unlikely that Arsenal will pull the trigger and decide to move on from Arteta before the start of next season.
His appointment was viewed as part of a long-term project. There was an acceptance that a rebuild was needed and, up to now, he has retained the backing of those above him.
But that backing will be put to the test now. The credit that he had built up with the FA Cup win has long since expired and failure to qualify for Europe will be massively costly in terms of the summer rebuild plans.
This was a season that started full of optimism under Arteta, but now it’s one that has descended into ruins.
Where things go from here, only time will tell.

Spring Brings Flood Of New Listings To ‘White-Hot’ Market
The real estate market in Manhattan is looking bright in April 2021, with increases in new listings … [+] and deals signed, according to a new report from UrbanDigs.
getty
Manhattan’s residential real estate market, propelled by listing volume not seen in roughly five years, continued its frenzied pace into April thanks in part to steady increases in new listings and contracts signed.
Continued high demand in Manhattan’s residential sector resulted in approximately 730 contracts signed from April 9-April 22, according to a report from housing data provider Urban Digs. The number of contracts signed—including about 400 deals stuck between April 16-April 22—was a 7% increase from the previous two weeks and a 95% uptick year-over-year.

Walls of windows bring light and skyline views into this updated apartment in the Nolita … [+] neighborhood. Asking price: $4.25 million.
Warburg Realty
The steady increase in sales reflects a market that has rebounded considerably from the cooling effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, with low interest rates and a wealth of new inventory pulling many hesitant buyers back into the market.
“Incessant demand pushed Manhattan into a seller’s market, and the sellers responded in kind,” said UrbanDigs co-founder John Walkup in the report. “Looking forward, only a month or so of the active spring season remains, suggesting that we may see a continued flurry of activity before thoughts turn to much-anticipated post-pandemic summer activities, such as travel.”
Tumblr media
This freshly renovated Jefferson co-op in the heart of Greenwich Village features an open floor plan … [+] and high-end fixtures. Asking price: $1.895 million.

Listing volume has helped to accelerate improving market conditions. The number of new listings in Manhattan increased 13% from the previous two weeks (918 to 1,040). That marks the highest bi-weekly number of new listings since May 2016 and the second-highest number since 2008, according to the report.
Buyers have been leveraging low interest rates and increased supply to purchase larger, more expensive properties at lower prices in terms of price-per-square-foot. This has resulted in a divergence between two data points that have traditionally been tied to one another: the median price and the median price-per-square-foot.
Tumblr media
Current market conditions have allowed some buyers to capitalize on larger properties at lower … [+] prices in terms of square footage. This 4,412-square-foot, four-story penthouse a wealth of indoor-outdoor space. Asking price: $9.995 million.
Warburg Realty
Why does this matter? Walkup describes the latter metric as a “better barometer of value for a piece of Manhattan.”
“Typically, as seen from 2008 through 2017, these metrics move with one another. However, starting in late 2017 and early 2018, they began to diverge,” Walkup explains in the report. “Fast-forward to the pandemic, and we see median prices dip sharply and then recover, whereas price-per-square-foot dipped, but has only started to recover. So, what’s happening? The answer is that people are buying larger units at a lower price-per-square-foot.”
Tumblr media
Located within an Emery Roth-designed building on Fifth Avenue, this chic three-bedroom apartment … [+] was expanded by architect Jonathan Caplan, who combined two units to create the residence. Asking price: $2.995 million.
Warburg Realty
On the rental side, the number of leases signed continued to trend upward with a 14% increase compared with the previous two weeks (1,647 to 1,885) and a 30% increase year over year. New listings in Manhattan also saw a 6% increase in mid-April, jumping from 1,459 to 1,553, while rental units taken off the market decreased 34% week-over-week.
