Ok so I just have a few questions for the producers of owl house about King

So you know how in the episode "Echoes of the Past" where king talks about hearing his father call him son before leaving to fight the titan trappers and dying somewhere, that would make sense right? But it doesn't because in the episode where king finds the titan trappers we find that King is the son of the Boiling Isles, This doesn't make sense because in the episode "Elsewhere and Elsewhen" we see that the Titan of the Boiling Isles has been dead for millions of years, If king was awake to hear his father speak then that means that he should have been due to hatch soon, I don't know if that means that Titans take and incredibly long time to develop or not but I just want to know :/

Not to be an unbearable plot tease, but I'm editing/rewriting a chapter from Hunger Pangs book 2, and while I adore all of my characters equally, Vlad and Ursula getting to know each other properly might actually be some of my favorite moments.

His realization that he can pester Ursula to tell him more about random historical events as they actually happened, not how they are portrayed in history books, is so, so sweet. He's like an excited labrador who just found a dinosaur bone.

Ursula's very much not used to this kind of attention.

She's used to people only being interested in her power. And here's a werewolf who couldn't give less of a fuck about exploiting her magic for his own gain, and a vampire who wants to ask her what textile production was like circa the fall of the Ecrecian Empire.

in-depth opinions on keefe (trying to return you to your roots: getting asks about kotlc characters)?

I may be putting several additional feet in several additional fandoms but I promise y'all have me prisoner and can send me as many keeper asks as you want <3

I will say these are my personal, subjective opinions! Which do include a bit of bias (TLDR at bottom)

For years I was perfectly fine with Keefe; he's never been my favorite, but he had some funny lines and an engaging presence. Never failed to liven things up. This changed around end of Legacy/Stellarlune.

It's not because I don't ship sokeefe, but because I felt sokeefe's execution was rushed and overshadowing the rest of the story. Wasn't even a full book since Sophie broke up with Fitz and said she wasn't ready for a relationship, yet there they are. I think they, and we, deserved more time. (and yes, Keefe exists beyond shipping, but given how HUGE of a role it plays in his in-text and fandom presence, i find it relevant)

Of course that's not Keefe's fault, but seeing all the adoration for what I found lackluster kinda pavloved me into a general distaste. Especially when done at the expense at Fitz, one of my favorites. Which is unfair, but I did say there's bias. That's not to say I'm mid on Keefe because I love Fitz or that you can't love both, just that personally I'm a Fitz fan, and seeing Keefe used as a direct comparison to shoot him down doesn't endear him to me (and no, not everybody does this, but I've seen it enough to be impacted)

As for Keefe independently, he's following the path of Ro. Too many traits are staying stagnant and becoming repetitive, which is adulterating what I used to enjoy. The way he steamrolls everything--forcing hands to go to Ravagog in Neverseen, running away in Lodestar and refusing to listen, the mercadir incident in Nightfall, the going behind everyone's back thing in Legacy, the running away again, etc. At first it was annoying but interesting, but at this point it's like...we're still doing this?

The amount of time and effort Sophie has to expend managing Keefe is ridiculous. if we could just knock him out for like 2 months I think she could fix everything. it's gone from a facet of the plot's challenges to straight up nuisance like get tf out of her way !!

Others have mentioned this, but the privacy invasion and making others uncomfortable is another thing that I didn't mind at first but became annoying. A joke or overstep here or there is fine; no one's perfect, and if it moves the story forward, sure. But he's constantly pushing and isn't sorry. And the more it happens, the less I can stand the earlier instances. I do my pagethroughs and just get annoyed where I used to laugh

Is there an understandable explanation for several of these points? yes. how the hell would he know how to have healthy relationships and boundaries when he's been set such bad examples? However, he's also being consistently corrected and ignoring that advice. He's given pep talk after pep talk, has fight after fight, and yet nothing's changed.

Do I think he's beyond saving? No. I've spoken with a few people about this, but I think a key thing holding him back is Sophie's "I could never hate you" promise she keeps making. Because Sophie is the main (if not only) thing that matters to him, he's got a built in safety net for whatever stupid shit he pulls, and never faces the consequences he's really afraid of.

If we took that net away, if he faced her genuine distrust and anger and upset and her exclusion and her hatred--without the "but not really just give me some time" vibe. I think that'd do wonders and we'd actually get somewhere. And also it'd be vindicating to see; the nightfall healing center fight is one of my favorite scenes

TL;DR: In summary, I don't hate Keefe. He has potential and I've enjoyed him in the past. But currently the combination of him being used against Fitz, the lackluster execution of sokeefe (imo), the privacy invasion, and stagnation don't do it for me. His kind of character already isn't my niche, and that doesn't help. Does he have potential to become less annoying? yes! i hope he does for everyone's sakes. until then, mild distaste for him.

Oh, um...I have no idea...? Alas, I don't know the lore between them or details about their relationship. My guess is that if they do share a first kiss, neither of them would really know what's going on or what they're doing. That's just a guess though...I seriously have no idea.

I dunno if asking @/evenmoreofadisaster or @/3lectricinsomnia or @/teaableu be spoiler territory (since EMD is their au) but it wouldn't hurt to ask! 🙌✨ I am just a mere brainrotted fan of the au doodling Onsagi on the side so...best guess is that One and Usagi would be huge, clueless dorks about the whole thing hehe..

💤 SLEEPING SIGN — is your oc a light sleeper or a heavy sleeper? how are their sleeping habits? not very good; arabella is a restless sleeper and needs an honestly arcane and oxymoronic amount of things to be the case to sleep well. she doesn't like it to be too quiet, she doesn't like when people come too close to her, she doesn't like not having space to move but she also doesn't like having too much space around her. the college is hard because almost all of these parameters aren't met and also she's beefing with the bedframe. the thieves guild gave her a battered old bedframe with an absolutely pathetic mattress and she immediately sets up her little pact-friendly bedding swag underneath it

🔱 TRIDENT EMBLEM — can your oc swim? do they enjoy swimming? she can, more or less, and she does, more or less! she's not the most confident swimmer and wouldn't be very comfortable fully submerged, but as long as her feet can touch the ground she's pretty happy in the water. she throws herself dramatically into the lake at least once during the goldenglow debacle, just for the fun of it

💛 YELLOW HEART — how many languages does your oc speak? what language(s) are they learning, if any? honestly I'm still somewhat puzzling through the fantasy setting issue of the Common Language... which is conceptually questionable but makes things easier. so I'm unsure how ubiquitous I would imagine a variant of cyrod to be, or whether I think there's any kind of "common" pidgin. I don't know that the empire's common tongue would hold much water in dominion territory in any case. rambling a little, but to answer: I would estimate that she speaks between two and three languages, with her first language being the most flexible and widely used dialect of bos (it gets very esoteric and community-specific further off the beaten path) and the most ubiquitous and easily accessible dialect of cyrod, which she learned young but didn't really become fluent in until she left valenwood. after she reaches skyrim she's probably learning a bit of some nordic pidgin, but since the rift is right on the border with cyrodiil it's not as needed as it might be if she went further north

🤒 FACE WITH THERMOMETER — does your oc get sick easily? the in-game abilities suggest that bosmer have strong constitutions and are, as a rule, very hard to make ill, so I would say no... but when she does get sick it's usually pretty bad, and exacerbated because she is very stubborn about the treatments she's willing to take. case in point: cutting out the sutures karliah gave her and rocking up to the college of winterhold with sepsis

how in the world is mobile compatibility akin to accessibility? a big swath of neocities users are there BECAUSE they hate the way smartphones have become so widespread that many people have them instead of a computer. it's a pretty important part of the movement. "accessibility" is important because disabled netizens deserve to be able to view websites as much as everyone else, not because it can cater to more users. not having a computer is so far from being a disability that it's almost insulting to imply that the two are related in any way.

not everyone has access to devices with bigger screens. devices cost money. some people do not have enough money to purchase device with bigger screen. intentionally excluding people who cannot purchase bigger screen device is classist. (also some ppl just don’t want to have another device, or could buy another but aren’t for which reason.) denying access to someone who cannot afford a device is in my mind pretty similar to things like not providing image descriptions or being wary of eyestrain during creation. PLUS. is there potentially a link between someone being disabled and not having the money for another device? That would be crazy to think about wouldn’t it /sar

mobile support on the small web doesn’t have to be perfect, but how is not trying—or worse yet just being an ass—any better than not having image descriptions? if someone needs yet another several hundred dollar device to engage, what is the point of the “movement”? A web movement that does not try to be accessible is not free. Classism and ableism (just like every other social issue) are linked. What’s insulting is to imply that they aren’t. And if you can’t find some way to make your site more accessible, you aren’t a good webmaster.

Ah yeah, looking through the tag isn't a great sample of what I was commenting on, because it's more an ongoing thing the past few months.

Essentially, keepblr has gotten a recent influx of people, which as always, means an adjustment period. This one is just taking its sweet time to work out, which is going a little rougher because some keefe/fitz and love triangle drama has started to seep into the fandom along with it. it's exacerbated in part by confession blogs and unraveled's existence

There's just been consistent things popping up like clockwork every time it feels like we get past another. There's ongoing keefe/fitz arguments, sokeefe/sophitz arguments, keefe taking over the narrative, some spamming, disagreement about ship names (which is quite ridiculous in my opinion. so much so im not even gonna bother anymore), a few convos about race here and there, etc.

Just an overall trend towards negativity that's been going on for a while. And at first its like yeah, bumps in the road, it happens. but it's been long enough i'm a little like. are we seriously still on this. we are NOT letting this be our new normal this SUCKS. you know?

Hmm...that's a good question. It might just be me, but I think more often than not, I see Leo being the one who falls in love first and falls harder. Maybe it's more obvious of a display from Leo in that regard, but I can't say as I really know for sure who would fall faster and harder.

I think in my own au, Leo still would be the one to be attracted to Yuichi right off the bat. Yuichi would be rather oblivious to Leo's flirting or whatever, mostly because he would be actively working. Yuichi is deep in what he's doing for work and is kind of struggling to deal with work stuff to notice Leo's attempts to flirt and make a move. Eventually though, he would start feeling those feelings and reciprocate them. Leo's affection would probably be more obvious whereas Yuichi's would be more subtle.

The distance part of their relationship is kind of where their dynamic is reversed in how they show affection. Yuichi would fight to show Leo that he won't leave again and that he still loves him and still cares deeply about him. And Leo would be a bit more timid and stumble over his feelings and try to make sense of them through his grief.

I hope that makes sense..that was a lot hehe 😅
