like, okay. okay. i get it, comic book standards as to what is "canon" or "in continuity" fluctuates in varied ways depending on the whims of writers and/or the company owning the character we all like. and we all have various reactions/gripes with that. (though i should emphasize that I personally don't believe in going "canon doesn't matter, this is my playground.") BUT YOU DONT NEED TO READ THE MOST RECENT COMIC FOR MOST CHARACTERS TO GET A DECENT READ ON THEIR CHARACTERIZATION.

I have my issues with certain modern/current writer's handling of Damian's character (Zdarsky, Taylor...) so I'm not going to recommend them for "accurate" characterization anyway but regardless, even if they were perfectly spot-on or even just fairly decent -- I wouldn't be looking to how Damian is being used in their stories as the most accurate portrayal that can use to gauge his character. I don't have to or need to. Damian has perfectly fine "older" comics that you can get a good read of his character on, though he definitely gets the short end of the stick in terms of writers who..like..actually like him enough to be consistent (much less, "accurate"). Yes, DC and Marvel make changes even now that effects a character's status quo (see: Marvel's current fuckups with Kamala Khan by using her as an X-Men chara/being weird about her) -- but those changes are usually rarer bc they depend on massive change. (like, again, Kamala was killed before she was brought back as mutant).

All this to say, based on someone complaining that Tim Drake doesn't have any good comics to read because the more recent ones (TD:R) were dogshit (which fair, I heard it is bad writing-wise) -- but Tim Drake???? TIM DRAKE??? That's who you complain doesn't have anything decent to read??? HIM? I'd fucking kill for Damian to get a good solo run, much less for one that runs for 100 fucking issues! Tim has plenty of material, from solo to supporting to cameo!

MAN I'm seriously so sad about season 2. Bc I wish act 2 had the same emotional impact on me as it appears to have on so many others. But rn I'm just somewhere between unable to care and actively annoyed by some of those writing decisions. Seriously the more I think about it the less I like it.

okie first off— oh my word, i just might tear up over hearing you’re plotting a sequel haha🤧 despite that, i seriously can not for the life of me fully express just how tragically poetic KMKY is written. i CAN. NOT. stress that enough. truly.. like i literally tell myself & some fellas aaall the time how i so desperately NEED to get off my bum and write a looong meaningful essay over your work (and for canon gravity falls’ story lol). i don’t mean to get out of hand and ramble but really, the full on complexity of ford & bill’s dynamic (canon or au) plus with certain canon events being extended in your perspective is just..ughh woww!!😫 the way you articulate both ford & bill’s internal struggles with themselves and towards one another throughout the whole timeline of events and with how they really aren’t so different from each another. how they both strive for similar goals of ‘changing the world for the better. how they find strange solace in one another for being outcasts in their own societies. how (possibly) this is one of, if not the first time, bill had someone ACTUALLY fully accept and worship him back, regardless of his form. how they have endless conflicting thoughts and feelings constantly churning away in their brain, admitted or not. how bill is taking in every single new experience in a human vessel (an all-knowing immortal inter dimensional being is shown something NEW? by a mortal human being no less??? ohhh lord how i lose my mind over that, i could probably write an essay on that concept alone!🫡). and unfortunately, how both of their faults lead to ultimate consequences for anyone and everyone involved. goddamn, id be lying through my teeth if i said this fic hasn’t highly enlightened me wayy more for these troubled souls (canon or au). oh gosh i cant help but gush over this fic, ive reread it too many times to count. in all seriousness, your work has changed me very deeply 🫣💛

I'm so glad it's brought you lots of joy and that you've had fun with how complex the characters get to be. I am sure you can tell haha but I love all the characters of Gravity Falls and want to do them justice, so the fact that people are vibing with how they're portrayed in my fic makes me very happy.

Ford and Bill are so similar and the story is littered with about a billion narrative foils to reinforce the themes of the fic. In the latest chapter I'm working on rn Ford's narrative foils in particular are a lot of fun to explore (Stanley obviously, and Dipper and Mabel too, but he's had a few narrative foils, like Antelias's worshipper Ingénue and Sandeep) but Bill gets some fun ones too (Zippy, Mabel, Pyronica) and as the main pairing their circumstances always revolve around the other.

I cannot tell you how excited I am about the sequel tbh. My notes app on my phone is full of plot points for it that will hopefully A) make y'all laugh a bunch (they made me laugh a lot so hopefully) B) tie up any loose threads from KMKY (though I don't plan on leaving a lot of them floating in the ether) and C) hopefully be a believable journey to a sort of redemption that won't feel forced for any of the characters. I want you all to believe that this is the logical progression for things if the circumstance in the sequel actually came to pass, I want it to be like that feeling of dawning realisation, accountability and wonder, that things really can change, so the readers can feel all the story beats that the characters feel when it happens. I want it to untangle the conflicted feelings they would all be left with by the end of KMKY. I know that through the course of KMKY they've all developed into their own versions of the characters in the show, but hopefully they're still recognisable to show fans. I'd want people to be able to read the fic and go 'yep that's them' even if they haven't read all 1 million words of KMKY haha. Anyway I can't ramble too much bc I don't want to spoil anything for y'all but I can promise it will be good.

The encouragement you provide helps me write and put out my best work (because I want to impress everyone who enjoyed the fic and believed in me as a writer) so best believe that there will be some enthusiastic dedications next chapter in the authors notes.

OKAY, SILLY COMIC!!! Sorry to anyone that expected a proper intense comic at the mention of lore revelations but "absurd" had been the keyword. I was going to continue the wall of text but I realized if I went any further I mightve had to add content warnings on my post so I just left it as is. Anyway, I thought it would be funny if Finn's cooking skills and habits were more than just a hobby for him, and at some point he got tossed around doing some missions in all sorts of different kitchen environments over Europe, so not only does it reinforce his more fanciful cooking, but he's also been a witness to his own personal Hell's Kitchen moments, which also reinforced his morals and ethics because hhoooooooo boy.

I have a gift for y'all today !!! 😊 Ever wanted to find a line in Re:Kinder in a single place for the sake of reference?? How about multiple chunks of lines. how about all the little variations that arise in the text with it's many endings, item descriptions, text that comes from interacting with the enviroment, and character info from the menu without having to boot up the game and go through it at long minutes!!???

well i sure did😊 Since I do a lot of fanart and think up my own silly theories and thoughts that need me to reference the game lines a lot, i have made a transcript for it for convenience's sake. A weirdly thorough transcript handwritten and proofread by me including all character lines available in-game. And I'm sharing it with you all today for anyone that wants it !!! :3 To use as a reference for creative fanworks or a quick search for a line in-game, whatever you wish to use it for!!

It uses the english translation of the game by vgperson. So naturally all credit for the game lines available in here is to her and Parun who made the game.

I did my best to organize it in a way easy to digest. Do note that I'm still human, and there's still the chance for mistake in it no matter how much I've proofread it, since I'm not even an english native speaker ^^. But I hope it serves you well nonetheless if you wish to use it.

I think a common trend I've noticed on Twitch is that the less a person streams, the worse their chat is.

Consistent streams (or at least, semi-regular streams) means there's more consistent mods and moderation, chatters who aren't super familiar with Twitch etiquette have more opportunities to learn what's acceptable and what isn't, and a better sense of community is created amongst chatters (and hopefully as a result, chat stops being dominated by thousands of individuals screaming at the top of their lungs into the void).

I hate working but I love having a job bc I can buy my siblings any random little thing they want and it heals some inner part of me because I remember when we were in really hard times when my siblings were too young to remember, we were barely scraping by and couldn't spend money on ANYTHING just to be able to have food on the table, and now even though we would still fall under the "poor" category, it's so much better than it used to be, and MY money can be put towards all the random extra luxuries without burdening my parents and it just makes me so happy to see we've come so far and are, in every sense of the word, thriving

Like!!! Juice??? Just a few years ago we could never ever have juice because we couldn't afford it. Now? I get to bring home juice for everybody every week!!! We have juice with our breakfasts!!! It just makes me so happy that for most of the time we can afford to live comfortably (for our standards anyways, I've met people who would disagree I guess but we don't need a lot to be happy)
