random brainrot but will i ever get over the fact that araki made jotaro's life so unfair? Because we see jonathan getting married to his childhood best friend even if it lasted really short, we see joseph get married and continue to live on in a seemingly stable regular life as a dad and an owner of a real estate agency

meanwhile poor jotaro had to carry the responsibility of watching over the joestar bloodline (since he's practically the active family patriarch at this point)and balancing his marine biology profession with the enemy Stand/DIO curse dilemma... he's doing all these and he can't even receive some sort of support back because:

1.) he's seen as the pillar of hope for the joestars after him, so if he crumbles and is gone for good, might as well consider everyone screwed, and -

2.) he had to accept a divorce from his could-have-been emotional support that is his wife and child due to said Stand problem. He knows he's a walking enemy magnet wherever he goes, so combined that with his love for family and the fear of losing them-

I'm rewatching part two and man they did Joseph so dirty. He would not pair up with literal Nazis because the Pillar Men are worse what 💀. They cannot be THAT bad.

Araki will make a species of non human advanced characters and make them out to be some greater pure evil

And take his protag who'd introduction was beating up racist cops and say he would team up with nazis because the pillar men are a qoute on qoute 'greater evil'

Like araki dude... you see how someone saying the race of people the nazis were conducting experiments on and have decided were a 'greater evil they need to put their efforts again to defeat for the common good' is WORSE right????

How I feel about this character: Love them all! Love them to death, and I'll keep defending them until my last breath. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Any/all the people I ship romantically ship with this character: Currently, the only B5 ship I have is Gakuyuki. The others are paired with OCs (for Next Gen purposes, hehe...) I do have a soft spot for Ren/Hazama, but it's constantly floating between "Nah, won't happen" and "Bad idea but still funny to think about..." and "But it's just so good!!!"

My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character:

Gakushuu: His rivalry with Karma, especially in sibling AUs.

Ren: I just love the idea of Maehara having a one-sided rivalry with a clueless Ren.

Seo: A sibling-like relationship with Rio, filled with bilingual bickering, curses, snarky remarks, and even diss tracks.

Araki: Him and his dad; I get the feeling they have a good relationship from what little extra info we got.

Koyama: His one-sided hatred with Okuda. So now you have one E-student vowing to best a Virtuoso, who is barely aware of their existence, and a Virtuoso trying to best a an E-student, who is barely aware of their existence.

My unpopular opinion for this character: For Gakushuu, I got nothing. As for the others....

Ren: If you're gonna hate Ren for the library scene, then you better also hate Maehara, Okajima, Itona, Irina, Korosensei, Rio, and every other perv in the series because some of them make Ren's actions look tame in comparison. Just saying...

Seo: The fact he genuinely cares about his friends makes him redeemable, likeable, and even interesting.

Araki: "Only Ren and Gakushuu are hot. Everyone else is ugly." My guy, you are not ready for the nerdy Ikemen type yet.

Koyama: His face and laugh are iconic.

Also...

They're called the Big Five, not Gakushuu and Friends! Remember them, people!

One thing I wish would happen/ had happened with this character in canon: More screentime of course. I know AC isn't really their story, but it would've been nice to have just one chapter showing us their daily lives, or at least give them all character profiles, not just Gakushuu. What I wouldn't do for offical birthdays....

A B5 spin-off would be greatly appreciated, no matter how unlikely it may sounds. Heck, I'm okay if it were just a one-shot, just give me some B5 content, Matsui!

Also, Seo got done dirty in the timeskip! Why is it we learned what the previous four did for a living, but Seo's section was just, "He and Whatsherface went to the same university and repeatedly dated on and off, yet despite this ridiculously clear sign this so-called relationship is an utter failure, Idiots #1 and #2 believe the other is their one true love."

Even Ren's section was better than this. Sure, he almost started a bloodbath and got lectured by Shuu for it, but at least he got some much-needed character development out of it. Every single Virtuoso got a happy ending but Seo, who is stuck in an unhealthy relationship. No character development, no clue what he was majoring, like come on! Have mercy on my insecure boy! Preferably by him dumping the harpy he's been shackled with since middle school once and for all.

Favorite friendship for this character: Ren and Gakushuu (Wholesome), Seo and Araki (Wholesome), Koyama and Seo (Chaos)

So I’m ditching my previous draft of the requiem version of Hol Horse’s Emperor, and revamped it into this. I personally still call it Emperor Gold, but I think Kaiserrequiem (Emperor’s Requiem, composed by Johann Joseph Lux...I’m just intrigued that his first name can literally be shortened to JoJo) would be a more appropriate name.

I’ll breakdown the stand under the cut, if you’d like to read it. 

Kaiserrequiem is basically Emperor on steroids, with better range and precision. In addition to the controllable, limitless bullets, the stand has a locked target precision feature that will track one living target at a time, and send all the bullets shot to follow and attack the target, no matter how far. Once locked, the bullets cannot be stopped unless Hol Horse decided to shift the target elsewhere. All the bullets will increase their speed once within the vicinity of its target, moving towards it at the same time and giving the impression like it’s raining. I call the move Heavy Rain (title of a Hall and Oates song). 

I know that a lot of fanmade versions of an upgraded Emperor is just a bigger and better gun, and I think I saw one where it’s a humanoid stand with its fingers as gun barrels, or something like that. But, I do think the original Emperor is already pretty OP on its own. I mean...limitless bullets within a literal aimbot gun? It’s sick, and can do quite a lot of damage if Hol Horse wasn’t such a goof. 

So what’s better than one OP gun? Multiple OP guns, of course.

Hence, the design. The extra arms is also a homage to Hol Horse’s theme song. I came upon someone commenting that his theme sounded like he reached Nirvana. I grew up with Bollywood, and khatak dance music is often very pleasing to my ears. Hol Horse’s theme song is a mixture of that, and cowboy-outlaw music, which surprisingly really complimented each other. 

In part of his ultimate move being called Heavy Rain, I actually searched the Hindu deity Indra as another inspiration. Indra is the god of rain and thunder, if memory serves me right. Not only that, Indra is also known as the emperor to god-like deities, making him one of the few gods with the title king.

I know previously I did Emperor’s requiem stand to be a humanoid separated from its user, but since Emperor is a wearable(?) stand, I think it’s better to keep it that way. So no humanoid stand this time.

I’d imagine that, to wield such a stand requires a more matured Hol Horse. If I’m Araki, I’ll put him between Part 5 and 6, so he’s most likely in his early 40s when he received Kaiserrequiem. Attire-wise, I don’t make much changes. He still wears his dirty old yellow-green clothes, with a long coat and collar pins (homage to CDDH), and a different pair of boots. 

That’s that. I still do find the whole idea to be too much, but I finally got this out of my brain. Now I can concentrate on other fanarts. ;;v;;

Pucci won the hottest JJBA man poll on Twitter. Thoughts? He had to battle it out with Weather in the final poll too and while I love both of them, Pucci easily won by a landslide

Nearing the final rounds I knew it was gonna come down to the Puccis battling it out. Honestly I thought Weather was a shoe-in but like you said, Enrico absolutely bodied him. I voted Pucci myself, lmao. Both are gorgeous though, and it was an agonizing choice. Fuck though, E.Pucci is just 🫦🤌

Other thoughts on the above poll:

Not gonna lie, what I was most shocked about was Mista beating Kakyoin in the first round! Kak fans are plentiful and (at times) some can be rabid. I suppose his diehards weren't partaking in the tournie. And personally, Mista > Kak; I prefer Mista's design and character.

It was a long shot but I was hoping Jonathan would win over Jotaro.

Avdol vs Buccerati was PAINFUL. Love Bucci but Av is supreme king in my eyes and I would have died of joy if he had at least made it to the finals (I voted for him, always).

Bucci vs Risotto was another toss-up; both are excellent

Kars should have beat Joot. Full stop.

Had it not been Weather vs Pucci in the end I would have loved to see it be Kars vs Dio (and vote Kars)

If Gyro wasn't up against Dio he would have definitely made it higher in the rankings. Diego getting further than him is rather surprising imo.

Dio vs Pucci was also rather poetic.

And now the women's battle is in the finals!

Jolyne making it to the finals is correct, immaculate, based. Voted for her the entire way and she was seamlessly sweeping. 😤 Jolyne will be crowned queen! Anything less is blasphemy. (Yasuho is wonderful though and I'm pleasantly surprised she made it so far.)

Thoughts on this one:

LISA LISA SHOULD HAVE MADE IT FURTHER. But this poll and the randomizer are EVIL for me personally for pitting Lisa Lisa and Hot Pants against each other, holy shit. I'm a Lisa Lisa ride-or-die (voted for her naturally) but Hot Pants is up there as one of my fave jjba characters too. But if there's anyone I can accept Lisa Lisa bowing out to, it's Hot Pants.

Hot Pants should have beaten Yasuho.

Cackled at Tomoko vs Suzi Q. Doing them both so dirty istggggg and I struggled hard with that one.

No shock that the Jojo Women's tournie is 80% Jojolion lol

Ngl as nonsensical as it would have been I almost wish some of the various nameless Stone Ocean gals could have somehow been in the preliminaries (there's be no point in any of them progressing further, and even less point in them taking a spot from more prominent and important characters obvs). I say this if only because there were some seriously good, frankly wasted designs Araki and Davpro pulled for background/one-offs. And yes, the G.D.St. Prison lunch lady would have been included because I treasure her.

I love Jojo women, each poll was low-key painful.

For both of these polls, if Stone Ocean's final batch wasn't brand new then I know most of the SO cast would not have faired well in against the characters of parts 2-5 and 7. Part 6 was so reviled and ignored for so long, so many fans sleeping on the wonderful core cast and their beauty would have led to, for example, Caesar beating Weather in the first round. So I'm pretty happy that the anime adaptation catapulted these characters into the spotlights they deserve.

All in all, in my mind it comes down to Pucci vs Jolyne (once she creams Yasuho) in the ultimate final "Hottest Jojo Character" and that's fate.

I watched Kuso (2017)

Most of you don't want to watch this. It's.....gross.

A series of loosely connected and disgusting vignettes play out after a massive earthquake in Los Angeles.

This film is directed by Musician/DJ/Artist Flying Lotus. Don't know much about him, but he's definitely got a head full of weird and gross ideas.

Almost everything in "Kuso" is gross. Everything is dirty, diseased, gooey, slimy, covered in shit, cum and spit. It is a relentless onslaught of things most people don't want to think about, let alone watch in a feature length film. The film is repulsive, odd, occasionally awkwardly funny, and interesting at points.

The movie is labeled as a comedy, which most of the vignettes are comedic in a certain way. It's like watching the dark side of live action "adult swim" sketches. Weird for the sake of being weird. Tim and Eric's nightmare by way of a Gregg Araki film. (Tim Heidecker is in the film by the way.)

Does "Kuso" have a point or a deeper meaning? Honestly, I don't fuckin' know. There are themes of warped morality, trauma, addiction...I think. But, I have to wonder, am I supposed to be looking for meaning in the mess, or is the joke on me for even trying?

Did I enjoy "Kuso"? I did enjoy parts of certain vignettes. I enjoyed some of the shots and some of the ideas put forth. I enjoyed the originality and inventiveness. However, the movie does become grating after awhile. Things could have been cut out. The whole sequence of the man visiting the doctor to cure his fear of tits seemed the most pointless of everything. Seriously, in a sequence where a doctor with a gaped asshole shits out a weird bug, I still ended up bored. (By the way, the man with the fear of tits, bites an antenna off the bug that's sticking out of his doctor's gaped asshole, and then drinks the goo that shoots out of it. So you have that to look forward to.)

If you like really weird shit, or your sense of humor is fart noises and dick sucking boils, maybe this is for you.

Personally, while I think this has artistic merit on some demented level, I find it to be too much and not enough all at once.

oh thinking about act stands(ish) you could kinda give Diego one? like Diego could have like Character Growth Moment and unlock his actual stand (since he’s technically just borrowing scary monsters). Like diego “I hate everyone” brando is flipping his shit bc lucy (or maybe johnny? lucy makes more sense for sbr but johnny makes more sense for jojos as a whole) is like Going To Get Killed and he can’t make it in time and then BAM time stop

while personally i like Diego with Scary monsters and actually do consider it to be HIS stand even if gain through a way of 'borrowing' from another user. i do think its his. between the fact that the original user is fully dead and diego still owning it meaning at the very least Diego CLAIMED full ownership to the stand. which for diego is very very in character for him.

Diegos stand is something that once belong to someone is a world that he didnt originally belong in (stand users or whatever) that was used against him without his will or say in the matter and be a tool in a plan he had no say in, but ultimately by the end of it, in death of the original stand user has claimed this tool his own to hone and use. and the stand fit him so well.

So in a lot of ways its like this stand was just hitching a ride to get to diego lol. I think in a very real way, Scary Monsters is very much Diegos stand. and in SBR everyone gets stands in such random and obscure strange ways that i LOVE. i love that stands have a lot of variety in terms of how people came to get them in this part or how vauge it is. and Diegos being he just kept a stand ability that affect then, after a holy coprse part got in him and decided on a molecular level, yeah go ahead and keep this ability lil dude <3 fuck it up <3333

then theres the fact that i think the world is so ugly and boring so sorry the world but araki did you dirty and your just not a stand i love

Diego having a moment of growth and stopping time SPECFICALLY with the intent to stop someone he cared abouts death. to pause the world and change what's happening? SO good

and the idea of two stupid fucking diegos trying to out time stop each other is silly, and could be like Jotaro and Dios fight from the main world, but the fact that everyone else would also be involved is HILARIOUS. everyone else working to do whatever they need to do while two blonde idiots fight in stopped time and almost making it harder to do anything lol.

🎃 A Happy Halloween With The Big Five 🎃

Gakushuu

Much to everyone's surprise, Gakushuu actually likes Halloween. Name a better occassion to show off his splendid sewing skills.

Him and Yukiko decide to dress up as a vampire couple.

They design the costumes by themselves. Gakushuu, being the perfectionist that he is, obsesses over the smallest of details! It is imperative his costume captures his elusiveness and charisma. He's gotta look stylish, too!

He even uses gel to smooth back his hair, giving himself the classic Dracula look. This is possibly the first time the Big Five have seen him in a different hairstyle. They know how paranoid he is about anything happening to his hair; did Yukiko somehow convince him to do it?

Since he's naturally pale, there's no need to powder his skin. Plus, he's confident he'll look horrendous with it anyway.

Of course, he's not forgetting the fangs. Those are crucial!

His cape barely reaches his ankles so he doesn't have to worry about it getting dirty. However, he has to lift it up whenever he sits down.

This perfectionist idiot spends a good deal of the party worrying about his damn costume that his date and friends have to constantly stop him.

Seo and Araki

These two also decided on a common theme every Halloween. It's a best friend thing.

For this year, it's superheros. They're going as Batman and Superman.

Araki proposes more original idea: How about they attend as Bruce Wayne (Seo) and Clark Kent (Araki), and they pick the DCAU incarnations since they're very popular? Seo likes it and agrees.

Except...people keep asking who they're supposed to be. He's lost the number of times he's yell, "Bruce Wayne! Bruce. Frickin'. Wayne!!"

Araki isn't as bothered because he's too busy taking a picture of the lovey-dovey vampire couple every 2 minutes. Makes you wonder if he dressed up as a reporter just to bring his camera.

He doesn't care if people don't know who hr's supposed to be. He just grins and opens his shirt tp show them the Superman T-shirt underneath.

Not that he has to do it often, thanks to his "Clark Kent" name tag. His camera has a DIY Daily Planet sticker.

Seo is never listening to Araki again.

Seo tries to put on a playboy millionaire act so people can get a damn clue on who he's supposed to be, but they think he's Tony Stark and tell him he got the costume wrong.

Ren

Prince Charming

No one's surprised, for as long as the Big Five have known Ren, he's mostly dressed as handsome male characters that are popular with the ladies.

His costume is store-bought, so no effort on Ren's part. Gakushuu is judgemental.

For most part, they leave him with his Cinderallas and Snow Whites.

Then he spots the evil witch herself, Hazama and runs. Not a very charming thing to do, but Ren is not dying on Halloween! Never!

Koyama

Being a huge Fantasy fan, Koyama decides to be a wizad.

He too put a lot of effort in his costume. Gakushuu is pleased to see someone else so dedicated, and Yukiko has to stop him from going full critic mode.

His costume has classical and modern elements and gets a lot of attention from everyone, especially girls. (No, Ren is not jealous. So what if half his princess harem left him to gush over the mysterious, terrifyingly hot wizard?)

Even Aarki's taking pictures of him like crazy!

Out of everyone, Koyama has the most fun at this party. Who knew having a civil conversation with people was more fun than yelling and looking down on them? Huh...

When some people ask about book recommendations, he won't shut up! This boy is a self-certified, self-proclaimed Fantasy encylopedia.

Bonus: Karma

By pure coincidence, which Gakushuu is highly skeptical of, we have another vampire.

It looks like Karma's barely put an effort into his costume. Guy just showed up with ripped jeans and a black T-shirt, plus some piercings. The only indication that he's a vampire are his fangs. This is your modern day blood-sucking bad boy.

And Gakushuu, never has he been offended in his life! This minimalistic style is an insult to the long (and unnecessary) hours he's spent on his own costume! What was Akabane thinking? Has he no shame?!

So Gakushuu spends a good hour or so critiquing and nitpicking Karma's so-called costume. It leads to one banter after another, until the two banter over every little thing. They're even competing over who's the better Dracula.

Gakushuu thinks he's the winner by defualt because unlike his uncultured rival, he's actually read the book!

Is Karma going to give up? No, he's going to imitate every popular Dracula incarnation in the media.

Yukiko sits a few steps away, reading Koyama's spell book out of boredem.

She later drags her boyfriend away by the cape after politely threatening to have Hazama curse Karma if he tries annoying Gakushuu again.
