Quick question- if you don't mind me asking, how do you draw arms? I really like the way you draw them and am struggling with drawing them rn :)

I'm honestly not the best to ask, I'm not good at explaining things lol

But something I started to do that helped a lot was prioritizing the bicep lines over the deltoid! I think it makes the arm look more fluid when it comes to mass. Another thing is that the deltoid goes further down the arm than some people would think.

If you're having trouble, I definitely recommend tracing some photography (sports and dance are good for dynamics), it helps you get a grasp of the bone and muscle structure. Best of luck, anon!

Being a baker at heart, you know a lot of good recipes for desserts.

Especially cookies, which are your personal favorite.

They’re not the astral cookies that Chef Saltbaker makes, so your friend Mugman won’t have to worry about swapping bodies.

Yep. You baked some specifically for him, knowing his brother might hog all the sweets.

But after knocking on Elder Kettle’s door and waiting, you were distracted by something nearby and jumped when Mugman opened the door.

You dropped the cookies by accident, devastation in your eyes as you looked between him and the ruined desserts with sadness.

It honestly felt like a punch in the gut. You were so disappointed and apologized profusely to him and felt like crying-

But then you hear crunching sounds and see Mugman....eating the cookies off the ground???

“Hey it’s okay, [y/n]. Three second rule, ya know?” He reassures you as he takes another bite, spitting out some grass but still smiling.

You laugh a bit, with him cheering you up instantly even though he didn’t have to eat them. 

Though he decides to go to your bakery to get fresh ones (only he knows where your business is located, Cuphead will never find out).

As someone who does a lot of digital art as hobby/job (tattoo artist) it really all comes down to doing it regularly and consistently, also finding brushes that work for you are a huge plus. Personally I prefer the more textured ones that you can get really funky with

What also seems to help is giving the background an off white or neutral grey color, sketching on a screen is a lot more comfortable when you're not being blinded by the white background

also! If you're drawing on ipad specifically get a paperlike screen thingy! I HATE drawing on the glass directly so that really helped a lot,,

What software/ hardware are you using? Maybe I can give some specific tips as I've tried myself both on apps and desktop programs :>

I’m actually already doing a lot of your tips and I have definitely seen a difference from when I first tried out digital art. Btw I use my iPad, that has a paperlike foil, and procreate.

What I struggle with most is lineart bc no matter what I do as soon as I try to over line my sketches it just look meh, so I’ve started to just clean up my sketch and work with that one and it’s so much better (but also sometimes a bit frustrating bc why the f did I draw so many lines here????)

Colouring is also a struggle. Just all the layers and ways to do it????

I suppose if I had more time I could try and draw more regularly but currently I don’t have much free time (apprenticeship is slowly killing me but at the moment I also have all the exams I have to study for which ugh 😭)

Also what I’ve noticed and maybe it’s just my unknowing ass but when I post art it looks smudged, like it’s fine on my iPad but when I open it on my phone later is not as clear anymore (I export is as PNG and it’s set on DPI 300) so idk if you have any tips for that.

But yeah thank you again for even trying to help!

First of all I’m so sorry to hear a member of your community has passed and I’m sending all of you tons of love!

Second of all thank you to everyone for your kind words and suggestions! I appreciate all the support!

I thought I’d give a little update on the plan for the art piece!

So I wasn’t aware my sister went to the eras tour (idk how I missed that but apparently she did)

After stalking online, finding the show she went to (I swear im not crazy) I found the entire setlist played at her show (which side note??? Miss swift must have GOD LIKE lung capacity because I shit you not when I saw the set list I was like “is this correct?? She sang THAT many songs in ONE concert.”)

I decided to use the 10 eras like planed BUT each little section I’ll have the songs she played at that show in the box and a lyric from each (I hope this makes sense) 

I’m thinking of having that as like a back ground then painting Taylor in front of it with the date of her concert she attended! 

I’m aware this is so so messy and awful explanation but I swear in my head this is cool!

Anon, sit down here, lemme tell you a story.

Around two years ago I brought my tablet because I was set or learning digital drawing (I suck at traditional art). I wanted to try that anime/fanart style, but after a while it seemed like I never got better so I kinda just... Gave up on it.

More than a year passed and suddenly I was back on my kpop bs and thought, hmm, let's try this again. That's when I founs out I work a lot better with a more realistic style than what I was trying before, hence why I was so scared of mixing them both together for my hyunjin hawks piece.

If you really want to do it, then do it, even if it sucks. Keep trying different styles and tutorials until you find your thing. Once you find your thing, you'll feel more comfortable trying other styles and mixing them up until you're satisfied.

It's cliche, but practice do makes perfect. Also if you'd like some tips or tutorials I'm always happy to help you find your thing. Hope this helps, you can do it 💜

Wanted to make a quick angst drawing of Lan and his inner thoughts. 

Lan is usually a happy go lucky kid, but there are days he has trouble keeping smiling.

Megaman goes through so much, the least he can do is keep the mood up, or so Lan believes.

Lan really is that kid that won’t ever let on his true feelings. He doesn’t want anyone to worry about him, and even if something does bother him he won’t even reveal what he’s thinking. I believe Mega is the one who truly understands what’s going on in his mind.

I HC he’s like that after Alpha after he loses Mega. He’s trying so hard to show he’s fine, because he made a promise to his brother he would move on but deep down he’s just so…lost

I relate a lot to Lan, he really is one of my favorite characters my sweet baby…

okay the entirety of your last art is great and i’m thrilled about it but the BOOKS? the books on the shelves behind them?? theyre somehow my favourite thing. you’re fucking stellar at backgrounds so i always make sure to have a Look ™ but this time drabs.. it’s so simple, more implication than anything else. but i just love love love the colours you used for the books. excellent shapes! but the colours! they look like they’re glowing! the highlight colour was chosen very well, as was a base colour, they compliment each other perfectly. the books just look ✨magical✨ okay. beautiful books that glow a warm colour so warm and rich its almost gold. i love these books. hope you’re having a good day

Thank you anon!! :')) It was just a mix of layers, multiply, overlays. I read some stuff saying simplicity is key for backgrounds, well it's not always the case but it is if it isn't the main subject. I've been feeling a bit shitty about my art lately, mostly because of school. So thank you for taking the time to write such encouraging words, I think it's just what I needed.
