A hand meekly raise and it held everyone's gaze. ".... Umm... With Ms Hylnyan's hair colouring and ears...umm. she looks more like an ushi(ox) in colouring.....eeep." The silence was cutting. someone had said the words they dare not voice.

No one laugh, feeling a little deflated that the more organic design of Catoblepas horns didn't make the petite Ms Hylnyan look more fearsome. There were the larger horns from the western realms but they looked oversized on their petite guest teacher.

Another hand raise.

"Umm... Maybe the organic one could be thought of as the earlier younger self? And that the metallic one was when she grows into her strength and magnificence?"

It was followed by another round of furious writings.

-------------------------------------------- Horn project can be blame on Elidbus and the Galvus men for running around with such huge and/or pointy headgear. One wonders if they are trying to prove some point and felt the need in SB for Hylnyan to sprout horns and lock horns with those guys

Way too much PvP later organic vs metallic oni horns. I blame FGO's Tomoe Gozen(cute gamer girl) and Ibaraki(eternally hungry) for this. Ushi Gozen did have horns. The FGO oni ladies were rather petite so the kids are not wrong in that respect.

Don't be expecting tigerskin bikini like Lum. She already has Tigerskin coat of fending which kicked off the oni of light vibes thing back in Stormblood.

I don't think Catoblepas horns can be dyed. Ashuran hachigane and its undyeable cousin still has the right look and can be linked back to Byakko. And only fending gear that has those horns.

Manusya skull helms were more shamanic looking.

Ms Hylnyan is GOAT for for doing this with Arch demon horns

This falls into Yokai territory but Hylnyan doesn't rock the draonic look well. The Ishgardian kids would have run with with the Halone's Fury incarnate instead.

Aiming gear is usually single horn. Like her Scaevan which is more an airpod-shades

It’s inaccurate to say Cordelia started the crusade for political expediency. Praes assassinated her predecessor, deliberately caused a decades long civil war and is actively attempting to assassinate Cordelia at every available opportunity. She makes decisions for political expediency once the war begins (so she won’t be overthrown) but she has valid reasons for going to war on Praes and it’s allies/vassals. Praes would keep trying to kill her and destroy Procer and would succeed eventually

Mmmhm, okay, kind of fair.

Attacking Praes, yes.

Attacking Callow was, as Cat spent half a book trying to tell her at every opportunity, absolutely needless. Besides which, it was done as it was at least partially because she was hoping to get rid of her political opposition in the fighting.

Also unless I'm blanking on something, the only halfway meaningful blow struck against Praes by the crusaders was Ashuran naval raids/baiting Warlock to destroying an entire city with himself inside of it. Praes' eventual collapse was essentially due to internal tensions.

The Proceran force never even got past the Vales. Black's Legions, meanwhile, had a grand old time on chevauchée burning the countryside and starving Proceran peasants.

So, yeah, tens of thousands dead, zero victorious to her credit, made everything worse, kind of caused the zombie apocalypse.

But clearly it's the heroes who never suffer personal consequences for their actions.

What is your Ultraman-series tier list?

Hi!

Well I don’t really have a “tier-list” per se, cause I find that in every series I have parts of it I definitely enjoy and would rewatch from time to time but also parts where Im absolutely averse to,

For example, although X was essentially a huge bag of wasted potential, but that ep 21 fight was perhaps one of the most innovative and entertaining fight scene of the entire franchise, 

Another would be that Mebius had perhaps one of the most (if not is) holistic series of the whole franchise and plus the nostalgic factors of the return of the Showa Ultras which my followers will know that I really respect the hell out of the 6 Ultra Brothers which is a huge plus for me, but it turned out that all the returning Showa Ultras were severely nerfed to kingdom come which was a big no-no for me

Thus, this is why I don’t really feel comfortable placing the ENTIRE series on a specific tier. So unlike the usual tier-list that is based on the overall series, so if there really is a “tier-list” for me, I’d rather list the specific moments of a series based on how often ill rewatch them, but ill not necessarily rewatch the entire series

Also note that the inputs in each list is non-exhaustive cause theres just WAY TOO MANY, but ill put like 4 or 5 examples in each tier

Tier 1: Specific moments that ill never EVER get tired of rewatching

Ultraman X: Ep 21; Exceed X & Cyber Gomora vs 2nd Form Greeza (Ive probably rewatched this like 100+ times by now cause I literally stopped counting after 70 times years ago no joke)

Ultraman Mebius: Ep 48-50 (I still think Empera’s entrance is still the best ever)

Ultraman Leo: Ep 34; Sevengar vs Ashuran (Sevengar is Best Capsule Boi)

Ultraman R/B: Ep 8-9; Orb Dark vs Rosso and Blu (Expected lol)

Ultraman Taiga: Ep 1; New Gen Roster & Taro vs Trigger (Yes I can guarantee that ill continue rewatching this for a long time to come)

que word vomit. but yes, i like this hc 100000/10. martis is a very prominent outlier at that, and even deemed a legend in ashuran culture. many of the elders do not actually believe another ashuran would even up to his calibre, and thus he remains to be deemed merely a myth by younger generations.

Doman kids call her Nyan-chan

Oni of Light(Toy version blurt to be done) because of the Ashuran Hachigane (DRK these days) that she keeps wearing. She fights like a demon / yokai cat so... The Four Lords are partly to be blame if they groom her into that title. The biggest culprits are the Doman kids for inflating/conflating her legend. (small like a Nagxian cat but fierce against the serpent prince... Does Nezha analog exist here since Qitian Dasheng does?)

High House Ishgardian citizen, Gridanian officer. Kan E-Senna and Aymeric are agreeable on this even though she's from the Shrouds. See Hien over there making her a Doman citizen and Steppes folk claiming her as Khagan. Stay out of this fight Exarch.

Not even after that talk by Temulan (stars, torch, guides) and Vrtra (threads, tapestry). She does not believe that strongly in fate and destiny (its more an added job left behind by Azem)

The godslayer is still not particularly spiritual after EW and its raids and meeting Nophica and Memphina and Hydaelyn

Emet-Selch would like to have a few words with her about Higher Powers and soulmates. But she lacks the ability to comprehend his words (see Hythlodeaus laughing his ass off by the side. What?! Her blank Miqo'te stare is adorable)

Her intelligence is probably with Meteor, Ardbert or whichever shard that strong in magic

Please refer to Gaius, Lolorito, Urianger, Hermes, Emet-Selch when it comes to defining Good and Evil. Just because its for the greater good, doesn't mean she agrees to it. So many shades of grey~~~~

She is shorter than the OC she was modeled after 176-180cm. The off chance that she'll be her default height but short as a Hrothgar... Seriously thinking her father might be Hrothgar. Utterly hilarious that OC's husband is around 2m tall. Cracks me up whenever she's next to Zenos/tall blond guys. And I'm like "But your husband..." Her husband was suppose to be alt but I'm too tired to play too many characters, so he's her retainer. In his Miqo'te form he lost his default height too...

I have no idea why she's so detached. I work with what she gives me and stop trying to micromanage her story. she is still within the personality parameters of her OC.

Crack theory: the resolution to the Warden situation in PTGE will be it being split into four names instead of two - North, South, East and West. Cat is obviously East, Cordelia will be West, Hanno North and Basilia South

This implicitly requires coming up with two new flavors of names for them to have symbolic dominion over (since rule over villains came as a package deal with East, and all), which sounds hilarious. So I approve.

Clearly need to drag Hierarch from from heaven to crown him Warden of the South, though. I mean, Levantines and Ashurans and giants will probably be unhappy whatever way, but he seems harder to kill.

Once upon a time, at Evensong Estate, there lived a maid.

Ashuran Sungrace gulped his wine and cursed his weak will, his mother’s tears, and his scratchy cravat.

It was only his mother’s tearful insistence that saw him seated at the sumptuous dining table at the Evensong Estate. 

(Her youngest son’s unmarried state was a great trial to the Lady Sungrace.  He knew this because she reminded him daily.)

Tellaria Evensong snubbed Ashuran. Magister Evensong glowered at Tellaria.  The Lady Evensong beamed at them all. It was terribly uncomfortable.

Ashuran was just planning how to politely decline dessert when a quiet voice sounded at his elbow.

“May I take your plate, sir?"

He could never recall what anyone else said that night, but her words he never forgot.

She asked again.

He offered to trade for her name.

Tellaria tittered. Magister Evensong glared.

"Talandriel," she managed, and fled with his plate.

He stayed for dessert. Then ordered four more.

She did not return.

The next day twelve dozen roses were delivered to the Evensong Estate. Tellaria was about to throw them out when her eyes lit upon the card.

Talandriel blushed for a week.

 Ashuran showered Talandriel with roses over the years, but none were ever so precious as those.
