So far this week I have

slept 26 hours in a row

ran out of psych meds leading to withdrawal symptoms

got into a car accident

spent most of an entire day on the phone about said meds and car accident

....now its friday and please gods i need a good weekend okay? please?

#not that i can get refills on my meds till monday #because my fucking doctor is closed on friday #might have to go to a different doc for an emergency fill #augh #also i have to keep hoping the auto accident #did not in any way aggravate my preexisting brain and spine conditions #because that would suck #but also i totaled my dad's car #or well the other driver totaled the car #probably #it might be fixable but its a pretty slim bet #also how many times can you talk to the same people in one day about the same damn event?????#so many times my friends soooooo many times

Yes, Greece still exists, we didn't all die 2000 years ago. Yes, people speak Greek. You people are so fucking stupid for real. So many of you claim to love ancient shit but can't even acknowledge the actual living culture of the people whose mythology and classics you romanticize. You keep leaving annoying comments about how you just forget Greek people still exist, thinking you're being quirky because you love ancient stuff soooo much that you forgot about the people it came from. You think about it so little you don't even realize that an actual Greek person has to read this shit, making it clear how little you actually care about the culture beyond the romanticized (and westernized) mythology. Don't claim you love Greece, don't use our mythology anymore if you can't acknowledge that we're still around without making it about how little you think about us. It's mind boggling that you'd think a Greek person would read this and think you're anything but obnoxious. Explode.

when will people learn that live-action remakes will never be good as their original animated counterparts because the glory of animation is the colour, movement, and fantasy that's just untranslateable to live-action

#the WHOLE POINT of animation is that its NOT live-action #because if it's not live-action then it's not held back by realism #like. mcu costumes don't look the same as their comic counterparts because yes they would look silly!#and mind you the mcu will run too far with that but point being that you use the different mediums of art for different reasons #spiderverse would suck if it was live-action #i haven't watched the live-action atla and i'm not going to for several reasons #avatar the last airbender #winx club #riverdale #the lion king #disney remakes

makes me a little sad when star trek ignores IDIC. like. vulcans are logical. that is true. But 'logical', for vulcans, does not amount to 'without compassion,' and it definitely doesn't amount to 'racial superiority.' Belief in 'infinite diversity in infinite combinations' should NOT result in the weird racist/speciest stuff we're getting in some of the newer treks. It does make sense that some vulcans are discriminatory. They're still flawed. But that should not be common or expected, like it seems to be in SNW. If it is, then it's a race of hypocrites, which. doesn't seem very true to Star Trek's message.

I think TOS Spock does a pretty good job of embodying this. Not always, it was the 60s, after all, but mostly. He was often trying to find non-violent routes, and get by without killing - even if they were in danger or had already been attacked. (See: the mugato, and the horta (until Kirk was the one in danger, lmao. t'hy'la > IDIC), the Gorn ship). Kirk, in his eulogy, calls him the most human soul he's ever known, and I've always read that as Kirk calling out Spock's overwhelming compassion.

It's just so much more interesting when Vulcans get to be radically compassionate. I want them to believe that everything and everyone has value. I want them to respect all ways of being. I want them to find ways for even very non-humanoid aliens to exist unfettered in society. I want them to see hybrids and think that it's amazing. Also, like, disability rep. I want Vulcans to have The Most Accessible Planet and available resources because they want everyone to feel accepted and valued. It makes for better characters and more interesting stories.

#tbh feels like some weird racist/misogynistic enlightenment-era philosophy coming through when they do that. y'know?#like 'oooh if you're fully logical you're BETTER than those who have EMOTIONS like WOMEN do'.#and the paramount execs are eating it up like 'yesss logic means being an ASS to people LESS LOGICAL than you!'.#like really guys. c'mon #like it makes sense in TAS that spock would get bullied by some kids. kids bully. that's common. makes sense that even vulcan kids bully #but if ADULTS are OFTEN doubting spock because he's half-human? that just kinda sucks. if i may it's even illogical #IDIC for me but not for thee type thing.#i think that being discriminatory should be a source of shame on a vulcan's house.#i think vulcans should adore learning about other cultures #star trek #vulcan #star trek vulcan #vulcans #vulcan culture #spock #star trek tos #tos #star trek the original series #sorry for my lack of mention of other major vulcan characters. i really hate that i can recognise that yes, my art is good, but is it VARIED? is it dynamic?? is my anatomy good? is it full of texture and colour theory? do i know how to do This? can i do That? no, not really. and that's quite painful actually

You know what I think is wasted potential? Gwaine and Lancelot being a comedic duo. Think about it, they're in so many ways opposite but they have the same core of loyalty and courage.
