BLACK LIVES MATTER SPELL

a spell of protection and justice for those protesting in response to black lives matter. i did this on the super moon of June 5th 2020

WHAT YOU NEED:

a container

a pencil

paper (i used green for life)

sharpie

soil

black and white candle

honey : protection, healing, purity, to sweeten the world

sage : wisdom, protection, good luck, emotional strength, heal grief

mint (apple): protection, ward of negativity, recharge energy, well being

lavender : cleansing, peace, protection, purification

rosemary : love, protection, strength, cleansing, purifying , healing

thyme : courage, heal grief, honour the dead, ward of negativity

pumpkin seeds: lunar spells, to plant the spell and make it grow

pink himalayan salt: love, protection

salt: protection

egg shells: protection

rose petals: love

Bay: healing, protection

cinnamon: healing, protection, victory, love, speeds up spells, success

WHAT TO DO :

Light a white candle and pray to Ares. He is one of the most passionate Gods who fights for justice. As a God of War, he will be on the front lines with those fighting for justice. I also said a prayer I found online regarding this topic

Take your container and fill the bottom with soil. The place 3 pumpkin seeds on top of the soil. This represents how the spell will grow and bring a new world.

If fresh and not dried, put your sage and mint leaves around the containers edges to cover them.

Then put the rest of your ingredients in and drizzles some honey over it

Create a Sigil with the specific Intent you want.

Fold up your sigil and place it on top of the honey.

Place more soil over all the contents so it’s covered. Don’t worry if you can still see parts of the sage and mint leaves. This further reflects that representation.

Light your black candle and pour some of the wax onto the soil. Then pour some of the white candle ontop of the black, making sure there’s more white. This shows the light and justice winning over darkness and hate.

Close the lid focusing on intent.

Draw the sigil you made ontop of the lid in sharpie and write BLM under it.

I pray that these protests across our globe will bring into action the change we so desperately need. I pray that all my followers going to protests stay safe and are protected. I pray for the families of white supremacy victims. I pray that the names of those taken will never be forgotten. May the Gods be with you.

Oh, I saw a video today of a single protester, probably white, flinging around a smudge stick in front of the line of police. Please. If you see this person/any non-native person flinging around sage and making a spectacle at the front line during the blm protests.... SMACK THAT SHIT OUT OF THEIR HAND. It's disrespectful to All Native Americans, I don't care if they're 0.2% native - It is Not our place to make an UNINVITED SHOW of a sacred practise. It distracts from the purpose of protesting against police brutality. ((Side note: It's different if it's a group song with your tribe at an appropriate time, or for example the video of Maori people performing the haka at the protest. Exercise some common sense.))

This is the current state of U.S. Courthouse in Portland as of June 11th. But, in the last number of years I have slowly become more conscious of how city culture doesn't really represent everyone. This big surge in the Black Lives Matter movement is making me even more aware of this. I am finding it fascinating that at this very moment the city is changing every day with boarded up windows, fences, murals, messages, signs, and graffiti. It is a historic time when a movement is effecting the urban landscape on a daily basis that I am compelled to photograph. The old familiar streets have changed overnight. Nine years old picture of a couple kissing during protest falsely linked to George Floyd protests

Claims: A picture of a couple is making rounds on social media with a young couple lying on the road and kissing amidst the protest in going viral with a false claim of being from George Floyd protests in the US. The image shows several security personnel. Protests for ‘Black Lives Matter’ were followed all over the US after George Floyd’s death by police outside a shop in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Footage of the arrest on 25th May shows a white police officer, Derek Chauvin, kneeling on Floyd's neck while he was pinned to the floor.

Twitter user “Nationalist KR” tweeted the picture along with a sarcastic caption in Hindi, “अमेरिका में धरने-प्रदर्शन ऐसे होते हैं ..BC.😮😨😨.. #ALLLIVESMATER” which translates in English to, “This is how protests take place in America #ALLLIVESMATTER”.

TRUTH

However, this is an old image from 2011 and not linked to the current protests of 2020 happening in the US over black lives. This photograph was clicked in June 2011 when riots erupted in Canada’s Vancouver after the Stanley Cup final. After doing a reverse search image, a post from New York Post dated from 17th June, 2011 was found with this image that said, “This amorous Vancouver couple got more action than their losing hockey team, and found romance in the midst of a post-Stanley cup riot. It's not known what happened to the love birds, but almost 150 people were treated at hospitals after the Canucks lost to the Boston Bruins Thursday night.”

  Identified as Scott Jones and Alexandra Thomas, they cleared the speculations back in 2011 about the photograph and in 2016’s article of The Guardian, Scott said that Alexandra was hysterical and he kissed her to calm her down.  

  Some other news reports about the same photograph and the couple are also available. Hence, the photo was clicked in Canada, in 2011 not during the protests happening over Black Lives Matter following George Floyd’s death.   Read the full article
