So, you’re going to need:

Rosemary (to return strength - lucky herb too)

Cinnamon (for speed)

Oregano (for luck - isn’t really necessary)

Basil (luck too - isn’t necessary)

Bay leaf (to enhance and set intention)

Rice or black pepper (to absorb any negative energies)

Cast a circle (I usually envision and feel energy flow around my workspace into a circle)

Set your intention (just say “my intention is to attract luck”)

This isn’t necessary but you can light a candle to draw strength from.

Use a pen or marker to write on the bay leaf “I’m grateful that everything goes my way” or “I am lucky” (adding emotions like feeling “grateful” adds ✨ S P I C E ✨)

Put your protection herbs in the center like rice of a fireproof bowl.

Circle rosemary and your other herbs around it.

Set the bay leaf on fire and dump it into the bowl.

Envision the energy working through the universe and your life when it has worked. Really feel it.

Put everything out and close the circle.

Take the burned herbs and bury them in any plant (just not a rotted one💀💀) or throw them into the wind.

You’re done with your luck spell and should expect results after 7-18 business days /j. 😌💅

So, on the dilema about how to make and use sigils discretily, I may have come up with something: ✨numerical sigils✨

It is extremely simple to do and its not very artistic or particularly pretty. It is as its name suggests: a string of numbers, so you could write on your hand or a piece of paper or on a digital post-it in your laptop or cellphone and no one would bat an eye (which is extremely useful for a closeted witch like me).

I got the idea from my job, where i use a lot of part numbers, or PNs for short. If you are familiar with the concept of a PN, you know that it is a code that refers to an item in your ERP/system/whatever. It is a way to categorize and identify things in a database.

Usually, the process of creating a new PN follows a set of rules like type of product, size, technical characteriscs and so on, followed by a serial number (1, 2, 3, ..., 100, etc). The result is a unique code that refers to only one especific item or product.

Now, i didn't came up with anything fancy for this part, but i think it has a lot of potential. For now, I am stiking with a table that goes from 1 to 9 (bc 9 is a perfect number) and each letter from the alfabet is assigned a number:

The process of creation is simple: write the word or frase of your sigil, take the vowels out and swap the remaing letters with their respective numbers. That is all. There is some wiggle room here to customize your sigil: you can take out the numbers that apear more than once, for exemple.

You could argue that it takes all the fun out of creating sigils, but for me personally it helped focusing on the intent/goal of a sigil. Also i love the practicality of this method.

Anyways, its a work in progress and very experimental, but im sharing it regardless.

Having to readjust to moving back home to a country where paganism and witchcraft are not only not accepted by the people but are also illegal has been fun. I have to keep reminding myself that I need to shut up and that I just trust anyone I meet about them.

My family thinks I'm atheist since that's I told them but a few of my closest friends know that I'm pagan. It's just wild. I want to talk about my gods, wear their symbols, and worship them openly but I can't.

Closeted Witch Tip:

Charge your phone wallpaper by placing your dominant hand over it and focusing on sending protective energy into the wallpaper that you selected. You can even use wallpaper that has specific and special hidden meanings in it that aren’t identifiable as witchy. For instance, it could be a color that corresponds to your intention, or a symbol only you associate with your intention. I’m Irish (so for example I might use celtic knot-work patterned phone wallpaper, and think of it as a mesh or maze of magic to keep evil out of my device). Go wild with it! You could have a picture of a plant that corresponds to your intention as your wallpaper! For protection I like any plant with thistles and thorns, and roses work well for both being protective and inviting loving energy into your device! Have fun :)

No problem I can help a little! Of course, I'll have to know exactly what you'd like to know, but I can start with some basics to help you get started!

Protection

If you're just starting out, then this is quite possibly the most important thing to do. Keeping yourself safe, cleansing your space, protecting against people who might want to hurt you, etc. should be the first thing you research and study.

There’s a lot of really good protection spells and ingredients for cleansing. Incense and smoke cleansing are two of my personal favorites. Find an incense smell you like! I love the smell of dragon’s blood and vanilla, but everyone is different. (Always be careful when burning something!)

If you can’t burn anything where you are (parents/guardians won’t let you, you live in a campus dorm, etc.) then I recommend cleansing sprays and salt. With the salt you can put it in satchels and hang it above your door to keep out negative energies. Otherwise sprays are nice since you can keep it hidden from anyone by saying you just like the smell.

Research

This is the next most important thing! Do your research! Don’t rely on others to continuously do your work for you. You won’t learn anything if you’re constantly relying on others, and you open yourself up to hurtful practices being used against you.

If you’ve ever taken an advanced class on how to critically analyze resources, you should be just fine. There’s a lot of good resources out there, and just as many bad ones as well. Keep an open mind and eye on them.

I am not open about my practice and try to be as discrete as possible, so my witchcraft consists of sigil work and tarot essentially.

my problem right now is how to activate sigils in a way that is both satisfying and that does not attract much attention. Ideally i would burn my sigils, but i can't do that.

I could activate them by creating a file in my phone and then deleting it, but it doesn't feel... magical, i guess. What i mean is that i wish i had something more tangible to work with.

How do you guys do it? Especially the closeted witchs out there.
