#alright snark and ship wars aside i get where you’re coming from tho #if you're genuinely interested in my thought process here i would love to elaborate #which is exactly what I’ll do!#first of all! the post you linked is about headcanons #which my brain kinda wants to put into a whole different category than ships — fandom ships in particular! — but i can leave that aside #because there IS an argument to be made that relationships are an extension of characterization and personality traits #if you wanna go that route i would wanna explain that Bloom's and/or Valtor's interest in the other is in fact based on canon #(even though I don’t really think ships need to be established in the source material. make shit up that’s what fandom is for #1) the Andros episode speaks for itself. Valtor specifically tells the Trix to back off because HE wants to be the one to fight bloom #2) the episode before that he asks questions about her (and only her; even though he has more powerful enemies to worry about)#demonstrating curiosity about and interest in her #3) that same episode (or the one before; can’t remember) is their infamous first meeting #where time LITERALLY slows down as the pass each other on the stairs #they get IMPACT FRAMES #the whole color palette changes!!!#idk about u but I eat that shit up. love the drama of it all no one does it like them #I’m gonna skip all the instances where Valtor is spying on Bloom through his little scrying spell because oh god who has the time #let’s go straight to Bloom #if I had a week I would not be able to collect all the moments where she growls his name in pure fury and single-minded determination #she gets a little bit obsessed with him over the course of the season and I personally think that’s very sexy of her #Bloom is known for her tunnel vision when it comes to her past and origins and Valtor's existence fits PERFECTLY into that #it ties in neatly with her overarching story of the past 2 seasons #literally PERFECT foils #which always makes for the juiciest stories #4) she singles him out for a duel in the museum episode #5) she can literally feel his presence #6) the mere mention of his name sends her into her weird faux enchantix #of course there’s no romance in canon but there’s TENSION AND CHEMISTRY which is all u really need for a ship #all their animosity and bad blood is what makes it so INTERESTING to wonder how they COULD work. it’s the spice that makes for good fanfic!

#hough. all the shit happening with subnautica distracted me. forgot about scugs for a moment there #i remembered tho 💪 it's scug time #my art #rain world #rw spearmaster #rw inv #im still in the process of figuring out a design for inv but i like the idea of not really having one #there will be a few traits that stay consistent (mainly the color palette) but i think it's more fun & fitting if they change a bit #every time i draw them #the one in this drawing uses the version from day 6 as a base but i took a little bit of inspiration from lionfish #longer thinner spines that are kinda all over the place. and overall very spiky and angular #like they're trying to mimic spearmaster but haven't quite gotten the hang of it

#random post #I don’t!! think about the silhouettes!! when I’m drawing or designing!! 😭 I think my brain would explode if I ALSO start thinking about that #when designing a character. like dude I’m just tryna figure out a hairstyle I haven’t already done on 20 other characters I don’t have time #for the silhouettes and shape language!! all I’m asking is ‘does it look good?’ and no matter what the answer is I’ll keep on truckin #oh and don’t even get me STARTED on colors #THERES A REASON why I don’t color ALL my ocs. those fuckers and colors ELUDE me.#if one of their first couple drawings doesn’t have color (or if they weren’t thought up with a color in mind) they will REMAIN COLORLESS #until I find the holy grail of color pallets or outfit inspo or whatever #almost all the fruit dads were made with color #most of their daughters were based off fruit so they had colors #Frankie I made after seeing an interesting palette. Sébastien was made with red hair and green eyes in mind #Blanche. Evelyn. people who believe that modern precure is “falling off” are kind of insane i think

#very broad statement because i totally understand what they mean. i feel like a lot of more recent precure series' have been a little #more on the forgettable/mid tier (saying this just purely based on appearances alone. because thats a huge factor for me)#but thats always sort of been the case ... theres eh precure series from every point #kira kira has some of the most delightful designs and one of the strongest casts from any precure series #and i just was looking at a bunch of tropical rouge stuff (i will finish it someday LOL) and my gawd the fight scenes go hard #and the stylization in tropical rouge in my opinion is really lovely. it has sort of that average anime look to it but defines itself with #really fun shapes and expressiveness. i also think the color usage is just really good #wont ever get tired of the rainbow lineups where every cure just gets 1 color basically because its still done in a very appealing way #but i like when cures in a series get more interesting palettes #anyway - theres always more to want from precure. i know id go crazy if i made my own precure series. but theres also so much about precure #thats just so delightful and its quite a shame i think that its crazily popular in japan but was never properly brought over here #and when it was with smile precure (turned into glitter force) it was ... mangled #they also brought over doki doki (still under the glitter force title) and i only ever watched a bit of the dubbed version ... but i think #they might have kept it more intact ? but also havent tried any series after those two ?#i dont know all i remember is draculaura voiced the main girl (cure heart)#anyway my point was something. something something oh yeah i think the only thing id say aside from various things id hypothetically want #from future precure series (the list could go on forever) that i'll say right now is. i wish they went a little crazier with the styles for #each series. of course the style differs from series to series already but i want ...even more stylized ones #of course id be saying this when my second favorite series is heartcatch which has the coolest style and animation ever but oh my god #precure is precure and is basically appealing no matter what but ... also im a guy who just leans towards more interesting styles #i would like to continue star twinkle precure of course and think it is cute for what it is style wise but its also not my favorite #kind of style. this is more nitpicky hyper specific tastes though. im just rambling #most appealing looking precure series' in my personal opinion are futari wa. heartcatch. kira kira a la mode. and tropical rouge

#if that makes sense. like it all depends on palettes but if its like blonde id overlay pink or ourple shading #and any other light color but with dark hair u could slap on any color to reflect off it and it WORKS #i dont know what to shade it with usually because its like. when you slap on the base shade color and add natural lighting from there #like when i render skin #if that makes sense #sorray he is just mesmerized by coloring #speak iza #might add an example later
