Neutered monotony, superior muzak, and a failed attempt at showmanship from the awkward Bert Kaempfert.

Bijna iedere dag muziek: the Avalanches

What am I actually trying to discuss here? I mean, I mentioned two completely different musicians and I attempted to unite them in their propensity for singles, which resulted in the lack of cohesive albums. Well, you can admit there is something there and I can also include Frank Sinatra among the two, since he has a similar issue, though his LPs are not the problem, they're quite coherent. However, they are not really known. For instance – how many have listened the entire collection of song the tune on the link is on? Yes, Sinatra is experienced more through his tunes than the discs these pieces are on. To be honest, this occurs with many of his peers, i.e. they are much more understood through their biggest hits than their whole long plays.

LECTURE 8: ROCK AND ROLL MUSIC: Early British rock and roll star Tony Sheridan (1940-2013) and his producer, Bert Kaempfert, convinced The Beatles to perform under the name “The Beat Brothers” on his single “My Bonnie,” recorded in June of 1961, along with several other singles, although Polydor chose “My Bonnie” for the A-side of the single and “The Saints” for the B-side. Thanks to the success of “My Bonnie,” especially in West Germany, Polydor released an entire album of songs by Sheridan and the Beat Brothers in January 1962 called, appropriately enough, MY BONNIE.

my favourite part of the bert kaempfert song Swingin Safari is about a minute in when the trumpet player gets a solo and it sounds like the terrified playing of someone who lost their place in the sheet music trying to improvise
am i saying that's what happened? no. but it's fun to play pretend
